When Tsukiyotake's fungal network whispers of the dead being used to create twisted, spore-infested warriors, she realizes that her spores are being weaponized by rogue shinobi. Concerned that her peaceful gift has been corrupted, she sends out a call for help to stop the rogue group — the Verdant Claw — before the army of fungal undead spreads beyond control. Tsukiyotake is determined to end this corruption, but she cannot do it alone.

Naegi Datura and Naegi Kirarashi - Datura approaches the Naegi patriarch in order to garner support for the rebellion and to petition her own candidacy to lead the Naegi after finding out her great uncle and former clan head Naegi Sarutoru had been removed by Iwagakure and placed elsewhere. It is her belief that with clan support throughout Sunagakure, the rebellion will have a better chance of success. After her years within Iwagakure, she believes she knows the best way forward for her family and how to avoid more tragedy and find their way back to a peaceful existence.
