Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Hiruko's face bears no facial hair, and his eyes have light green irides. His hair is a silvery gray and is usually left very shaggy looking, with a small braided ponytail hanging off the back of his head. He has three small scars on his face; one over his left eye, one right under his left eye, and one on the left side of his mouth.
  • Body: Hiruko's body is quite thin and his skin is very pale, but what muscle he does have is very compact and toned.
  • Notable Features: He has three small scars on his face; one over his left eye, one right under his left eye, and one on the left side of his mouth. His body also bears multiple scars all over it ranging from small training scars to large scars created during battle.
Clothing/Accessories: Hiruko's outfit consists of a black long sleeved shirt with dark gray bandage wrappings that tie the sleeves down from the forearm down to the wrist. The shirt itself comes down far enough to cover his chest and upper stomach, and the rest is covered by a chain mesh undershirt that goes down to his beltline. Around his left bicep he ties his forehead protector with the symbol of Kumogakure, and around his right bicep is a metal plate engraved with the symbol of the Ishiguro. He wears black fingerless gloves that leave the backs of his hands exposed, and dark gray pants paired with black ninja sandals. On his belt he wears a black ninja pouch hanging above his right cheek, on the front of his belt are two shuriken holsters, and on the outside of his right thigh is a holster designed for his white Kunai, Maboroshi.

Personality:
  • General: Hiruko is generally relaxed in his day to day life and could even be viewed as bored most of the time. While he is generally a happy person, the things that get the man excited or expressive about his feelings are generally few and far between. The man’s eyes appear almost lazy as he approaches most situations, even combat if the opponent is bland or too weak to deal with him, however this is rather rare considering most of the time Hiruko only fights if the opponent is worth fighting. Despite this generally lax personality Hiruko is actually very attentive to things, and is very capable of advanced thought and planning, hence why he was promoted to Jounin.

    He has a serious problem with things like commitment to responsibility and therefore chooses not to do anything more than what is required of his position. He has no desire to do anything like become clan leader or Raikage, nor does he want to become any sort of high ranking member of an organization. He simply wants to be what he is; a damn good ninja. He is a generally friendly guy in day to day village life, having no issue with making friends or helping out a villager in need. If it’s required of him he’d give the shirt off of his back, but only if he felt the person truly needed it to get by. He’s more than happy to help, but he’s no pushover either; if he feels you aren't actually in need he'll quickly tell you to man up and take care of the problem yourself.

    The man has been through a lot in his lifetime; he's lost a lot of family and friends over the short span of his life due to various different situations. These deaths weigh heavily on him at times, usually when he's alone or thinks he's alone, usually sending him into a deep state of depression and grief. Very few people have ever seen him like this though, and if they have, they probably didn't differentiate it from his usual relaxed demeanor. Aside from this depressing secret of his, he spends a lot of his time reading or meditating when he's not training. All in all, Hiruko is a rather average man with a side of himself that he prefers not to show to others, but is overall a caring and compassionate guy that would do anything for someone he deems a friend.

  • Fears: Letting his friends down, Letting the Jinchuuriki get out of control
  • Combat Mentality: Combat is one of the few situations where Hiruko can be seen as totally focused on the task at hand, namely defeating his enemies. The sight is truly scary to behold for those who know Hiruko, as he’s almost not even the same person; his casual appearance being replaced with a much sterner one and his body language shifting from it’s typical relaxed demeanor to one that appears much more serious and attentive. While generally preferring nonlethal approaches and incapacitation, Hiruko is not above killing someone should it be the best approach to the situation. He can generally be seen using ninjutsu, as his focus on the elements of his clan give him a multitude of advantages at multiple ranges. His clan fusion also gives him a distinct advantage against other ninjutsu users, and the super release of Kumogakure, Jikiton, gives him an advantage over weapon users. Combine all of this with his ability to use fuuton for empathy sensing, and Hiruko shows himself to be a very well rounded ninja.

MaboroshiShow
Maboroshi (Phantom) is a Kunai that Hiruko retrieved on one of his missions during his special jounin years, just before the start of the civil war. The entire weapon is 17 inches in length with a 4 inch handle and a 1 inch diameter loop at the end of the handle. the rest of the 12 inches covers the double sided blade of the weapon, which also has two 1 inch extensions that act as sword catchers on either side of the blade near the handle. The hilt is wrapped in red silk and the entirety of the metal that makes up the blade is white.

The Kunai may only be singular, but it has the innate ability to duplicate itself at Hiruko's will, up to a maximum of 4 times to make for a total of 5 kunai. These 4 additional Kunai are made of a gray metal, making them easily distinguishable from the original. These duplicate kunai will dissipate after one of two conditions are met; if they touch the ground or if they impact a target without being in Hiruko's hands. This means that Hiruko can use them effectively as melee weapons without worrying about them dissipating mid combat, but if he throws them they disappear shortly after impaling whatever they make contact with. As long as they remain in the air the Kunai will not dissipate, allowing him to juggle them or otherwise keep them airborne to prevent them from disappearing. Maboroshi cannot make more than 4 additional Kunai at a time; if 4 duplicates exist, one must disappear before it can create more.

Abilities and Concentrations
Elemental SpecialistShow
Having devoted their lives to mastering the Elemental affinities, Hiruko is classified as an Elemental Ninjutsu Specialist. Elemental specialist are able to devote a total of 10 concentrations to elemental concentrations, unlike most people who are capped at 8. Hiruko is not able to access any specializations that are marked for Ninjutsu Specialist, but instead, can now pick up concentrations marked for Elemental Specialists. Additionally, his two additional concentrations MUST be used for elements. He cannot use them for ninpou styles. However, he is only able to devote a max of 5 concentrations to Taijutsu, and a max of 5 concentrations to Genjutsu.

As a Ninjutsu Specialist, Hiruko is able to utilize Ninjutsu concentrations reserved for specialists, but cannot utilize non-elemental ninjutsu specializations. Additionally he is able to enter the God Tier [45+] on select stats, meaning as a specialist they can select stats to break into the God tier. These stats are Ninjutsu, Speed, Control and Instinct.

Born to the Ishiguro clan, Hiruko is able to utilize Disruption Release, a fusion composed of Raiton and Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require Denjiton. Denjiton has a cancelling effect.
Second AbilityRei Sekai no Oshiguruma
Known as Spirit World Walkers, and often simply called Oshigurama for short, holders of this ability have an inborn ability to utilize Shizumeru. Most spirits can naturally sense when someone is an Oshigurama, as they appear partially spirit to others. Being an Oshigurama is a genetic trait, but is not something that is passed down, but rather something that appears spontaneously, which scholars suggest is related to coming into contact with spirits during pregnancy. Oshigurama are able to utilize any Shizumeru techniques and are renown for their enormous capability with spirits. Some can go their entire lives without unlocking their abilities, but when tapped into, Oshigurama develop specialised chakra that gives the user a unique chakra colour of Maroon and changes the colour of all non-elemental ninjutsu to match.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Raiton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Raiton affinity. Raion has a shocking effect.

A character with this concentration is able to utilize Fuuton, and can make and use any custom or archived jutsu that require the Fuuton affinity. Fuuton has an cutting effect.

Jikiton Affinity
A character with this concentration is able to utilize Jikiton, an advanced form of Raiton, and can make and use any archived jutsu that require the Jikiton affinity. Jikiton has a magnetizing effect. Those without the Elemental Specialization cannot make custom Jikiton jutsu.

Sensor
Sensors are shinobi who are able to activate a sixth sense which can locate and read chakra sources. Sensory is advantageous as it allows shinobi to perceive without using any of their conventional senses, which can easily be deceived. Sensors are able to collect a lot of information through the interpretation of this sixth sense.

Advanced Channeling
This user has superb chakra control, and has learned to perform jutsu by channeling, without the use of hand seals. The user can channel any ninjutsu that is designed to be channel, and there are no specified parameters in which a jutsu must fall to be channeled by this method. To get this concentration the user must be a Ninjutsu Specialist, and have picked Control as one of their specialized stats.

The fundamental skill of [Sword Weapons] indicates the user’s proficiency with swords and sword-like weapons such as knives, daggers, sword-breakers and the like. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.

Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body, then thrust his hands forward, creating a screen 5m x 5m in size anywhere within 10m of him. Any jutsu that passes through the screen loses 3 speed and 3 strength, and 1 exploding tag worth of power if it explodes.

Clone Trap
C-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body then focuses chakra on a 4x4m area. If any clones pass through that area a surge of chakra will shoot up and cancel out the clone, and any effects it may have.

Denjiton Gauntlets
C-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body, creating gauntlets of denjiton chakra around his hands and forearms. Hiruko can use their arms as shields, reducing the effect of jutsu they come in contact with (through the gauntlets) by one rank. This allows him to lessen the burns from katon jutsu, or easier to break out of suiton jutsu that capture him.

Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body, and sends forth a pulse of denjiton chakra from his hands that travels at 10 speed. Anyone caught in the denjiton pulse will have sudden full body muscle fatigue and a feeling of nausea and discomfort that lasts for 4 posts.

Cancel Screen
C-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel chakra within his body before placing his hands together and pulling them apart, creating a 6x6 meter screen of denjiton chakra in front of him. Any jutsu of up to C rank that make contact with this screen of chakra will fizzle out on contact, causing non physical techniques to dissipate and physical techniques like doton to simply lose their chakra and become normal rocks. The screen has no physical mass, but should a person walk through the screen, the screen will disrupt their chakra network, resulting in a -3 control for 3 posts. This screen lasts for 3 posts.

Genjutsu Cancel
B-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body, then places his finger to his forehead, charging Denjiton chakra throughout his entire body. The process is quick, and will cancel any B-rank or lower genjutsu they're currently afflicted by. This technique causes a -10 in Control and Ninjutsu for 5 posts after use, however, so it is advised against relying too heavily on it.

Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body, then create a clone out of chakra beside him. In addition to looking like Hiruko, the clone has the special ability of disrupting an opponent's chakra system for 3 posts upon physical contact. This means that they are unable to cast ninjutsu or genjutsu during this time, however it also dissipates the clone. This clone lasts for up to 5 posts, and has the following stats:

Cancellation Armor
A-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel denjiton chakra through his body, placing his hand on his forehead and focusing chakra around his body. The chakra will form a thin, clear armor around his skin. For the next 5 posts, the armor will cancel out the effects of chakra that come in direct contact with his bodies. This allows him to break through barriers, protect himselves from ninpou effects, and otherwise act as a protection from indirect attacks. This armor only serves to cancel. A doton jutsu's chakra would be cancelled, but the blunt force of a rock slamming against him would remain.

D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko creates a small vortex of Fuuton chakra around a projectile in his hand that spins with a strength of 5. This causes the projectile to corkscrew through the air, allowing it to travel an extra 10m and applying the Fuuton passive when thrown. This doesn't make the projectile any faster, only increases its range and ability to cut.

D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko gathers wind around his feet. Then, Hiruko will use the wind to blast himself up from the ground, enabling him to leap into the air an extra 10 meters at 3 extra speed. Hiruko also has 3 less Taijutsu until they once again touch the ground. Those with less than 5 Taijutsu (after deduction) will stumble and fall when trying to land. The Fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

[Fuuton • Wind Skating]
D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko is able to glide on air as if they were skating on ice. This allows him to move faster (+3 speed) but lowers his accuracy and agility (-3 Taijutsu). This doesn't allow him to fly, but rather to travel over things like land, water, and ice with greater ease. Hiruko is only held several inches off of the ground. This Jutsu does not expire until Hiruko’s chakra supply runs out or Hiruko shuts it off. The fuuton passive is not applied in this technique.

[Fuuton • Redirection]
D-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko covers a projectile they are holding in fuuton empowered wind. Then, when the weapon has been thrown as normal, Hiruko is able to change it's direction by up to 90 degrees once with no drop in momentum on the projectiles part. This technique only lasts one post.

After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko expels a basket ball sized ball of wind from his mouth. This ball of wind travels up to 20m at 5 speed, and explodes with the strength of a single explosive tag on contact with solid matter or at the end of its range.

C-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko coats his weapon in a vortex of wind. This extends the weapon's range by 1m while not adding anything to its weight for 5 posts. It also causes the weapon to gain an edge as sharp as your average sword. This also applies the fuuton passive with a strength of 10 on contact with an opponent.

[Sensory Style • Approaching Breeze]
C-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel chakra through his body and place his hands in the air, releasing waves of chakra out of his hands. These waves of chakra will bounce back to Hiruko after traveling out 25 meters in the air. As the chakra returns to Hiruko it will evoke an image in Hirukos head of the immediate area around him, anything in the air and anything up to 5 meters in the air. These are still images, not moving images, but can give Hiruko a good idea of what is happening if they aren’t able to see otherwise.

After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will create a clone out of his fuuton chakra. This clone will be able to act entirely independently of Hiruko for 5 posts before dissipating, with physical capabilities equal to the stats listed below. This clone applies the fuuton passive to enemies it touches.

[Fuuton • Safe Zone]
C-rank Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel fuuton chakra through his body before releasing this chakra into the air around him, encasing him and all nearby allies in a thin veil of fuuton chakra anywhere from 5 to 10 meters in diameter. This Fuuton veil forms at a speed of 5 and works as a sort of filter, clearing away any particulates in the air such as obscuring, suffocating smoke or harmful poisons that may be in the air around him and letting in clear, breathable air in it's stead while also allowing him to see clearly in it's area. This technique can handle techniques of up to 15 strength, pushing away particulates in the air that don't overpower it's strength. This veil of chakra has no offensive capability though and it's passive effect is suppressed, allowing anything solid to move in to or out of the area without a problem. The veil will follow Hiruko wherever he goes and lasts for 4 posts.

[Fuuton • Gust of Wind]
C-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will release a large gust of wind from his body in all directions to a distance of 15 meters. This gust slashes anything hit by it with 15 strength winds, delivering multiple deep cuts into whatever is within range. The gust expands with a speed of 5 until it reaches it's maximum distance, at which point the winds will swirl around for 4 posts, slashing at anything that attempts to get inside the area.

[Sensory Style • Scholar of the Angels]
B-rank Fuuton Ninjutsu
Hiruko will channel chakra through his body and then place his hands in the air as the wind blows past it. So long as they are already aware of an object or being also being touched by the wind, within 50m of his position, they can send waves of chakra directly to that thing, sending the waves of chakra through them. This allows Hiruko to get very precise imagery on how that person is fighting, what they have on his person, or what is within an object, or so forth. This jutsu can be maintained with movement, but does require some length of focus.

Fuuton • Pressure Damage
B-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will focus chakra into his mouth. He will then release the wind chakra as a large sphere with a 10m radius at 20 speed, which has a maximum range of 50m. Should the target be hit within the first 30m, the attack will inflict the maximum amount of damage, causing an explosive force equivalent to 4 explosive tags, spreading cutting winds capable of slicing close to the bone over the same area. Should they be struck in the last 20m, it will only apply 3 explosive tags worth of force and range

Fuuton • Dragon's Tempest
A-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, a fierce whirlwind will radiate out from Hiruko at 20 speed, surrounding Hiruko with winds that will cut any opponent or object within range to pieces. There is a 2m radius around Hiruko that would be the “eye of the storm.” If struck by this Jutsu the victims will face wounds so severe that they can be deadly, receiving deep cuts and hits equal to a strength of 30. This Jutsu covers an area of 40m in all directions.

After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will create a ball of chakra within his hands before firing it at a speed of 15 towards an opponent within 15 meters of him. This orb of chakra does nothing to normal people, but to those who bear host to spirits this chakra causes them to lose control over their spirit, resulting in a -3 mastery debuff for the next 3 posts.

Containment
C-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will use his chakra to create a 10x10x10 meter cubic barrier around a target within 15 meters at a speed of 10. This barrier is unlike other barriers in that it will only stop two things from passing through it; spirits and spirit based chakra. As a result, spirits, spirit hosts, people possessed by spirits and jutsu that derive from spirits will be unable to make their way through the barrier unless they can overcome it's strength of 10. Normal people however can pass through the barrier at their leisure. This barrier lasts for 4 posts.

Reveal
C-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will focus on a target within his field of vision. If the target is a spirit or bears host to a spirit in any way, Hiruko will see an aura of maroon chakra around the target, letting him differentiate spirits and hosts from normal people. This jutsu lasts for 3 posts.

Safe Passage
C-rank Ninjutsu
As part of the training of a jinchuuriki, the host usually must go into their own world within their minds to converse with and obtain power from the beast within them, their 'dreamscape'. To initiate the technique, Hiruko must channel chakra throughout his body and place a hand on the willing or restrained jinchuuriki's head, letting the Shizumeru chakra flow into their body. Using this technique, Hiruko can follow them to their dreamscape to observe and aid the host verbally. Hiruko has no physical mass in this form, nor can he interact with the world, the host, or the spirit in any way; he can only utilize his senses and speak. He is also unaware of his surroundings in the outside world while in this state. This is a noncombat technique and lasts as long as Hiruko maintains the technique, or until the host leaves the dreamscape, whichever comes first.

Chains of Authority
C-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body Hiruko will thrust his arms forward towards a target, sending out maroon chains of chakra at a speed of 10 to a max distance of 15 meters. These chains will pass harmlessly through anyone who isn't a spirit or spirit host, but will cling to a spirit or spirit host's chakra, binding them in place. If used on a spirit, the spirit must have 10 strength to break free from the bonds, and if used on a host the host must have 10 mastery to break free. This lasts for as long as Hiruko maintains focus on the technique.

Enfeeble the Master
B-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will create a ball of chakra within his hands before firing it at a speed of 30 towards an opponent within 20 meters of him. This orb of chakra does nothing to normal people, but to those who bear host to spirits this chakra causes them to lose control over their spirit, resulting in a -6 mastery debuff for the next 4 posts.

Imprison
B-rank Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will use his chakra to create a 15x15x15 meter cubic barrier around a target within 20 meters at a speed of 15. This barrier is unlike other barriers in that it will only stop two things from passing through it; spirits and chakra. Deny the Master
A-rank ninjutsu
After channeling chakra through his body, Hiruko will point his finger towards a target and fire off a beam of pure chakra towards them. The beam has a diameter of 1 inch and flies with a speed of 25 up to a maximum distance of 40 meters away from Hiruko. Hiruko can do nothing while maintaining the beam, but as a result he can control it's direction with keen accuracy, allowing it to move in any direction he desires to ensure contact with target. Should this beam of chakra make contact with a spirit host who is in a spirit form higher than 0, the beam will immediately drop their form by 1 for 5 posts. This also prevents the host from accessing their highest available form for the duration.

Cho Kosoku:
Cho Kosoku is sort of a catch-all style that covers all of the taijutsu abilities that Hiruko has learned in his years as a shinobi. This involves acrobatic maneuvers such as ukemi, hand to hand combat, and utilizing kunai for a variety of uses including melee and ranged combat.

Hiruko will throw a kunai with a bit of a spin to the throw, causing it to curve around obstacles such as corners and rocks that provide cover. This allows him to accurately hit a target that is behind obstructions as if they were in the open. However, in order to accurately hit them, Hiruko must know their location through other means.

Hiruko has practiced the art of rolling, and in doing so has gotten much better at controlling his movement while rolling along the ground. In doing so, he can avoid damage from being thrown or knocked down more easily, and can roll away from an opponent’s attacks without exposing himself too much.

Ambidexterity
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Hiruko has trained himself to be proficient with both of his hands to the point that he can do anything with either of them without any loss of skill or power. This allows Hiruko to use both of his hands with equal efficiency, no matter what the task.

Juggle
D-rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: Ambidexterity, 10 instinct
By training himself rigorously in the use of Kunai, Hiruko has learned how to properly juggle his kunai around in mid combat. This allows him to fling and catch his Kunai without much chance of failure while keeping a strong offensive against his opponent, allowing him to make airborne kunai into lethal secret weapons.

Prerequisite: Ambidexterity
With rigorous training, Hiruko has trained himself to be able to wield a weapon in each hand without a loss of proficiency. This allows Hiruko to keep up an overwhelming offense with a weapon in each hand, or use one hand for defensive measures while still maintaining offense with the other hand.

[Kunai Kick]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 15 Taijutsu, 20 Instinct
This technique utilizes a kunai not in Hiruko's hands, such as one being juggled around, as an unexpected and potentially lethal weapon. After letting one of his kunai fly into the air, Hiruko will wait for the kunai to come back down until it is a meter or two above him. Then, with a quick jump and front flip, Hiruko will kick the loop of the kunai with his heel, sending it towards his enemy with his full strength at point blank range. The speed with which he can perform this complex maneuver makes it usable even in close quarters combat, making it incredibly surprising to an enemy unprepared for it.

C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Hiruko has trained himself to become an adept of acrobatics, allowing him to more easily control his movements while airborne. This lets him alter his movements midair ever so slightly by twisting and contorting himself in peculiar ways, allowing him to better alter his trajectory every so slightly in order to avoid attacks or get a better angle for his own attacks.

Prerequisite: Dual Wielding, 25 instinct
Taking the concept of utilizing multiple weapons to a whole new level, Hiruko has trained his body to be even more adept at wielding Kunai. With this level of mastery, Hiruko can wield a Kunai with practically any part of his body as long as he can get a grip on the Kunai. This includes things such as toes, behind the knees, in his elbows, his mouth; virtually anything that could realistically grip something well with. While doing this, he can generate the same amount of force as he could while using the kunai normally, allowing him to stab or throw them with ease.

Hiruko was born an only child to Kurama and Hisako Ishiguro on a dark and starry night. His father was a hunter by trade, and his mother was a nurse, but when his time for the profession lottery came he drew blacksmith as his trade. It wasn't by any means a trade that he minded, in fact he enjoyed the idea of working with the weaponry and armor that would be used by the people of lightning country on a daily basis. And of course, being an Ishiguro, it would have been ludicrous for him to not become a ninja. As such, he was moved from the primary education center to the ninja academy at the age of 9.

His days in the academy were amazing, being around all of these kids who wanted to be ninja like him made him even more excited to become a shinobi and protect his country. It was during this time at the academy that Hiruko met his first true friends; Jinrai, Naoki and Kagari, Ageha. Naoki was a fiery, passionate Jinrai who loved to play music on his flute and swing his sword, and Ageha found her niche was Genjutsu and Iijutsu, a dedicated support ninja through and through. Together, with Hiruko's ninjutsu and taijutsu prowess, the three had great diversity between them. Thus, it was only natural that the three would become a team as soon as they graduated the academy, just a few weeks after Hiruko's 12th birthday.

Their Mentor was a Jounin by the name of Kizami, Moritsune, a powerful practitioner of the famed Iaido style and fuuton specialist. He also had a bit of genjutsu under his belt and even sensory capabilities. This made him the perfect mentor for the trio, and with his guidence their strength grew, as did their friendship. When the trio wasn't taking care of the simple missions around the village, the three stayed in close contact in their day to day and spent a lot of time just being friends. It was some of the most memorable and happy days of Hiruko's childhood, and after his team proved themselves to be great together and individually, all three of them were promoted to the rank of Chuunin with Hiruko only being 13 at the time.

Soon after ascending to the rank of Chuunin, Hiruko discovered his unique birthright, a side effect of his mother being one of the spirit sealers of Kumogakure; Hiruko was born an Oshigurama. His mother was in contact with multiple spirits during her pregnancy with him, and as a result their power gave him the genetic ability to manipulate spirits. Luckily, his motehr was quite learned in the art herself, and was able to teach him much of the basics of Shizumeru. Between that, learning his clan's techniques and Moritsune teaching him Fuuton, Hiruko's skillset was quite diverse. He even learned how to sense using the winds, becoming an empathy sensor thanks to his mentor. The discovery of his birthright couldn't have had better timing either; on a mission with his team that was supposed to be a simple C rank, the three stumbled upon a cult that were all husked by spirits. Naoki wanted to leave and get back up, but Hiruko refused; he knew that if they didn't nip this in the bud now more innocent people would be turned into these things. Thanks to the power of Shizumeru, the three narrowly dealt with their leader and removed the spirits from the now lifeless bodies... but not without Ageha sustaining heavy injuries.

Hiruko and Naoki had never moved so fast in their lives, and were it not for Ageha's miniscule knowledge of Iijutsu, she probably would have died. Luckily she was able to hold herself together and patch herself up enough to survive the trip back to the village where she received proper medical care. For their success in the face of true adversity and placing mission success and the lives of lightning country civilians above their own well being, the three were promoted to special jounin. Hiruko was 16 at the time of his promotion.

Not long after this promotion was when true tragedy struck; The traitor known as Nakajima, Hayate killed Lord Kusakabe, igniting the flames of the Lightning Country Civil War. He had never questioned his orders in his life before... but to kill the people of lightning country, just because they chose a different side? The conflict of emotions was almost too much to bear for the young Hiruko, and if not for his teammates urging him to fight by their side and protect them, he would have resigned right then. It was during this war that the boy got his the scars on his face, an explosion sent shrapnel scattering all over the place and were it not for him jumping in the way of the blast it likely would have killed Ageha. By tackling her to the ground however, he caught most of the blast himself, injuring him greatly and pretty much taking him out of the war.

During his recovery in the hospital, Hiruko received the horrible news... His father was killed in combat during the decisive battle of the civil war. Never before had the teen felt such hatred for anything, let alone a single man... If Hayate hadn't started this war, he wouldn't have been injured, his friends and teammates wouldn't have been put in so much danger, and his father would still be alive. When he was finally able to leave the hospital, he was still out of commission for a good while, but due to his heroic efforts during the war and Moritsune's good word, the young Hiruko was promoted to jounin at the ripe age of 18, after only just recovering from his injuries.
"It's so sad!" the reader said to the writer with a frown. "The character in my book just died!" The author turned to her and burst out into tears, "I know!" he said, "So did mine!"
