First venture to the country of Fur

Post by Zao » Wed Oct 10, 2018 4:53 pm

A single man, his hair spiky and snow white in hue with beautiful bright blue eyes was slowly walking through the forest along, above his right eye was a single silver eyebrow ring and around his neck was a black chain that held a ruby like gem. Around his body was a white cloak that matched his hair, sweeping down to just past his knees as the man’s forehead protector was concealed underneath the outer garment in its normal place upon his right bicep. Silently walking with no sound being emitted from his footsteps as the man journeyed from the southeastern border of the country after being given permission from his rather stern leader that he could enjoy the once a year festival held within Fur country. Yet, it was not as much so the celebration that he was coming here to participate in and observe and it was instead the other participants that would be coming from the other big shinobi villages.

The Kiri-nin’s head seemed to remain almost perfectly still as he walked but his various senses were active allowing for him to extend the normal human range of his senses into the environment around him as he walked. A short while after entering into the border of Fur country the well build man came upon a massive water feature, a large lake, which blocked his advancement forward. Though like any other shinobi the man took a step forward onto the surface of the water as though it was second nature for his body to place a layer of chakra in the soles of his boots to help support his body weight atop the water. It only took a few moments for the man to be tens of meters out onto the body of water before he stopped, allowing for the slight ripples that the movement of his feet atop the liquid surface to settle now. The cool, almost cold temperament of the area reminded him of home as a gentle smile crossed his lips now.

Yet, the smile was only briefly there as it almost turned into a slightly serious expression, perhaps it was just the feeling of paranoia but it felt like he wasn’t quite as along as the fresh jounin had first thought. Perhaps it was nothing or perhaps it was something, only time could tell as the man allowed for his thoughts and mind to calm while both hands slowly curled into fists before relaxing. Maybe he’d get to meet another fighter before actually arriving at the main festival that was held closer to the center region of the country where its largest cities could be found….

First venture to the country of Fur

Post by Izanagi » Wed Nov 07, 2018 12:16 am

Returning to Fur Country brought with it an array of sensations, everything felt heightened in this place. The primal urge to hunt and kill, to best all of the world’s greatest warriors, it flowed through his veins and pounded in his skull. Vorashu’s influence could be felt in every moment though rather than try to supress the Genma, Shinjiro reveled in the power of the Phantom beast of Body that surged through him. The young Karagata Chunin had pulled away from most of the Kiri nin that made their way to the festival, transforming into his first form, his hair growing longer and twisting into braids as an aura of green chakra enveloped him. Not a moment later his body shifted, his clothes and equipment fading away through means of chakra while his form condensed and morphed itself into a small vampire bat. There was no chakra smoke as he transformed but the change happened in an instant. He had been getting more familiar with the transition and could do so seamlessly now. Flying off through the trees he moved with blinding speed.

The frigid air was uncomfortably cold to most however in his animal forms Shinjiro tended to be quite well insulated, while he could feel the nip against his wings his body was protected by fur and warmed by his own physical exertion. ‘Crawling back while you’re still so weak. Do you intend to stalk around in the shadows once more?’ Vorashu’s haunting voice echoed in his mind, deep and ominous the old shaman’s primal essence was almost palpable. ‘I’ve returned to fight. To train, the only way to grow stronger is to test myself against the best in the world and there’s no better place than here’ Shinji replied, he was hungry and confident. He needed to become an elite of Kirigakure, for nobody other than himself. To claim that power himself crush anyone in his way. No more would he only fight those he knew he could defeat, such as the way of the assassin that had been instilled into him since he was a mere toddler. He was more than an assassin now, more than a Karagata. He was a Jinchurriki. The power that had been bestowed on him combined with his natural talents was not something to be taken lightly.

The Phantom beast seemed content with the boy’s answer, grinning within his mind as he let out a low chuckle. ‘There may be hope for you yet. Continue to prove yourself worthy, bring these pitiful humans to their knees and the mighty animal kingdom will be yours to command.’ The Genma sneered, revelling in the thought of Shinjiro becoming a willing accomplice rather than trying to supress and ignore him as he used to. The young Karagata wouldn’t indulge Vorashu with an answer however he couldn’t deny that he wanted to stand above all others and he too wished to harness the power of more deadly creatures. The feeling of being one with the various creatures he took on was remarkable. He could be any animal he wanted if he put the time and effort into it. His instincts changed with each form and he had to fight to keep his true personality dominant as over time he began to grow closer to the animals he transformed into.

Flying towards a lake now Shinji slowed his pace somewhat as he detected a figure. His eyes in this form were practically useless. He could make out broad shapes but no colors and it wasn’t a reliable means of detection by any means however his hearing was exceptional and even more useful was his ability to utilize sonar, detecting everything around him with remarkable precision, it was what he imagined minds eye sensory was like, a map in his mind that didn’t require any thought, it overlapped with his other senses becoming naturally intuitive. In a way it was almost like he could feel the objects as the sound waves reverberated back to him from his minor clicking which was inaudible to the human ear. From about 30 meters above the man Shinji began to circle around a few times at a speed of 15. He was not particularly interested in stealth, being fully aware that this was an odd time of year and time of day for that matter for a bat to be flying around, as far as he was aware however it was not a foreign species of bat to the region. Before moving in any closer he was curious what kind of person this shinobi was and if he was worth the time to interact with.

First venture to the country of Fur

Post by Zao » Thu Nov 08, 2018 6:19 am

For a moment the man felt completely alone as he stood upon the surface of the lake which was almost like standing on a mirror as there didn't appear to be a single ripple atop the surface of the water, even those that had been created by the soft footsteps of the young man had already dissipated leaving Hitachi to quietly stand atop the water and enjoy its natural beauty. Though such a thing would never last for long as the man shifted his bright blue gaze first to the left and then scanned around him ending up on the right side of him, it would appear that he truly was completely alone out here at this point, which wasn't to much of a surprise as the Kiri shinobi had taken a rather round about way in getting to Fur country. A result of the need to take care of a few things for the village along the way but in the end he still managed to complete the assigned task in time to enjoy the festival or at least he'd still have time once he actually made it to the main festival area that was still about a day's worth of travel away from his current location if the swordsman hadn't made any mistake with the map work during his travels.

Perhaps its was just the youthfulness within him or the fact that the massive natural lake reminded him of the lake within his home land but there was a point at which the man just felt like letting go for a moment, at which point a playful smile found its way onto his thin lips as both feet shifted just slightly. The left foot moving slightly forward and the right leg shifting a bit to the rear in this case. Suddenly the man's movement's became blurred at first, allowing the acceleration to build up at he began to move about the lake like a ghost, the long white coat he was currently wearing that swept down to about the mid shin in length only helping to add to the appearance of being a ghost when those that could track him could only see a white blur flash by. Yet, if it had been someone who knew Hitachi they would instantly be able to tell that the man was not moving at his full speed by any means and at beast it was only around sixty five or seventy percent. The reasoning behind this was that while the man had excellent taijutsu skills he couldn't help but realize that he'd never worked on his control of his chakra to keep it on par with where it should have been as a chuunin, with his most recent promotion to jounin a few months ago he had began to understand that in some regards he was rather lacking when compared to other shinobi of his rank.

But it wasn't something that made the young man beat himself up over the issue, no Hitachi had always been one to identify the problem, find a solution, and then implement the said solution in order to start mitigating the problem. This was just such a case as the man was forced to move at a slower rate of speed in order to also maintain control over the chakra that was currently being focused into the bottom of his dark combat style boots. This was honestly the perfect style of training in order to help him work on improving his chakra control, the only thing that could have made it better at this point would have been an actual opponent. That would have not only caused for his mind to focus on the chakra within his feet, but also split his attention between that task and the task of fighting with the opponent, something that was already difficult depending on the skill of the opponent. Sadly though it was just him out here upon the lake as he began to move a little bit faster causing for the water to thrust upwards when he would rapidly change directions upon the now wavy and distorted surface of the body of water. Yet, his senses were truly keen and the sound of an animal that shouldn't have been there during this time of day or even this time of year.

Hitachi's style of fighting revolved around constantly changing the direction of movement and the direction of attack, rotating the body at high speed even while being able to maintain an accurate position on any nearby opponent and using every little bit of information that he could gather from the combat and the person's body to help predict what they would attempt next. Thus the bat which the young Jinchuuriki had choose to shape shift into had almost immediately drawn the attention of the jounin as he moved about allowing for his eyes to shift their gaze without actually turning his head to alert the fellow shinobi that his presence had been noticed. The swordsman didn't both to remove any kind of weaponry and instead began to time his movements with that of the bat's that was flying about over head, taking notice that it flew nearly thirty meters high. From just the information that the man had briefly gathered this didn't appear to be a normal bat but there was always that chance that he also wrong but he wouldn't know until he tried.

It took a few moments of seemingly dashing around without any real rhythm or reason behind the direction of movement and rapid changes in direction that came with Hitachi as he danced about the water slowly growing a bit faster as he was not around seventy five percent of his max speed as he moved to a fro. Yet, the next movement was a rather explosive one as he came to a nigh complete stop and with a slight squat pushed off the water with his full strength for the first time launching himself high into the air and directly into the path of the bat now. His left hand would sweep out in an attempt to capture the bat that had been lingering overhead in this moment, whether or not he was able to didn't really matter. If it was a normal bat then the man would have to laugh at himself for being a bit to silly and if this bat turned out to be not a normal bat but instead something else then even if he didn't capture it perhaps it would at least make things a bit more exciting here on the lake...

[Blurred Movement]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: 25 Speed, 20 Instinct
Having trained their body at high speeds through intense training sessions, the user has developed in such a way which to confuse their opponents/enemies. A passive skill that allows for the user's movements and melee physical attacks to take on a blurred effect as long as their speed is ten stats above that of the target(s) instinct. This effectively makes it harder for the enemies to determine the user's attack pattern and or where they are about to strike.

[White Ghost Mirage]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 30 Speed
The user of this technique will take a moment to prepare themselves before dashing at full speed around an opponent in order to strike them from behind. The strength of this technique comes from the extreme acceleration used in it, causing those with 5 less Taijutsu+Instinct/2 than the user’s speed to be unable to follow the user’s movement at all. The user will then unload a series of powerful attacks at the opponent from their new position.

[Observing Eye]
A-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: 40 Instinct, Increased Awareness
Building upon the previous discipline the user to more effectively gather snippets of vision, sounds and tactile sensory information in order to be properly aware of the battlefield around them whether standing still or in rapid circular motion. The user is effectively aware of their surroundings within Instinct/2 meters of their person, able to recognize when attacks are coming and the body positions of opponents. This also allows or the user to focus upon smaller micromovements of the body of those they are fighting. By understanding the micromovements of the muscles, the small utterances of eye movement, and the ambient sounds of the body, the user can effectively predict what kind of macro movements (punches, kicks, directions) the individual fighting against is going to make after having observed movements of the target for more then two posts. This does not allow for a means of automatic dodging, but does give heed to what sort of movements will be or is most likely to be occurring next due to their previous observation time.

As Shinjiro circled overhead he was able to determine the height and build of the man below him. A full grown man, quite muscular and likely inclined towards Taijutsu but there was no telling what kind of style he utilized or the extent of his abilities. Given that his eyesight was quite poor while taking on the form of a bat he wasn’t able to recognize him as a Kaguya or even identify him as a member of Kirigakure. As useful as his animal transformations were they each carried their own distinct advantages and weaknesses and realizing what those were was instrumental to his success in mastering the powers that had been bestowed upon him. Suddenly the man began moving quite quickly, running along the surface of the lake. ‘So I’ve been spotted, not bad’ he determined, he could still track the Jounin’s movements relatively easily at this speed, determining that this man was in fact likely Jounin level. Though Shinjiro was only a Chunin he was easily among the most deadly in the village for his rank, often being able to best even Special Jounin and Jounin whom split their focus between ninjutsu and taijutsu. He was still very much outclassed however when it came to elite taijutsu practitioners such as Aimi or Shiv but that was expected given the S-rank level of skills the two possessed.

Typically Shinji held back his power from others, not wishing to make himself a target, though given his fame within the village and the respect he commanded he knew there were very few who would actually try to kill him even if a disagreement broke out. Now that he was a Dagger of the Seven swordsmen however Shinjiro craved recognition, at least enough to rise to the rank of a full-fledged member. The more Jounin he could impress the better it would be for him. Of course in this situation, not let within the perimeter of the festival he could actually find himself in danger. As the man ran along the surface of the water Shinji noted something, the disruption of the water was inconsistent and several times the man slowed down to regain his footing. ‘Like me, it seems this man has dedicated all of his training to his physical abilities, interesting.’ He noted, wondering now how much he was having to hold back in order to keep himself above water.

The movements the man made were incredibly erratic and for a moment Shinji wondered if perhaps he was just training his speed or chakra control after all. Surely one wouldn’t waste so much energy if they had any inclination that there might be an hostile nearby, especially one observing their movements. Though if one possessed enough Stamina he supposed that this might be akin to a warmup for the man, allowing him to more fully harness his true speed, building up momentum and loosening up his muscles while simultaneously making himself hard to track or target so that he could attack pre-emptively. Typically Shinjiro would expect a projectile attack aimed at him while the target searched for a shinobi whom might be the owner of the perceived bat pet scouting ahead, likely that was also the purpose of the quick movements, scanning the area and taking in information to determine if a shinobi could be detected or the most likely places they could be hiding. Certainly this man wasn’t someone to be underestimated.

Shinji was fully on guard when the man moved beneath him, suddenly launching himself into the air so fast he actually couldn’t perceive the motion until he was nearly in front of him.Instinctively Shinjiro flowed chakra throughout his body, even as he moved to evade. Forunately, as fast as his opponents jump was his movements in the air were dramatically limited compared to Shinji whom was able to move just out of reach as his body glowed with green chakra, suddenly having his true body burst forth, though retaining a large pair of bat wings as he seamlessly moved from a full transformation into a partial one.

Now that his eyesight was returned to him in full Shinjiro assessed his opponent quickly, noting the red marks of the Kawaizawa family, that stemmed from the Kaguya clan, the most prominent shinobi force loyal to that family. The white hair was what narrowed it down, verifying him to be a member of the Kaguya rather simply a shinobi bled to the Kawaizawa. There was a slight moment of relief knowing that this man was a shinobi of Kirigakure. Shinji’s own Kirigakure symbol was also adorned on his arm, though his left opposed to the right where the Kaguya displayed his. The boy looked on with bold green eyes as his powerful wings propelled him backwards at 20 Speed. It was a drastic difference from his top speed but the best he could manage when suddenly retreating. “You’re quite impressive. What is your name Kaguya?” he questioned, addressing a presumably superior ranked shinobi quite candidly. He was one of the few in the village who could get away with doing so without being assaulted as punishment for it. Though there were those in the village like Aimi who cared little for rank or formalities. He wondered what kind of person this man was.

As the man's calloused fingers began to extend outward in a grabbing motion towards the both of the bat it suddenly glowed with a green chakra forcing the man to rethink his outstretched hand pulling it back in towards his own body now. Before his eyes the bat transformed into a young man with bright green eyes and messy looking brown hair, yet the appearance of the young shinobi before him paled to the large bat like wings that had appeared on the figures back allowing for him to instantly retreat in mid air at the moment. In truth, Hitachi could have also continued his attempt while in mid air but after seeing the way the boy was able to transform himself plus the almost mirror image of how the fellow Kiri nin proudly displayed his village plate on his left arm it didn’t take the jounin long to discover whom it was that he was looking at.

Heh, the body genma host.” The man spoke, though it was mainly to himself as his upwards momentum had came to a complete halt causing for him to appear to stop completely in the air before gravity would inevitably take its course and begin to draw him back towards the lake below the pair of ninja now. If one were to make a judgement on how the man would do when he hit the water from this height based on the struggling level of control he had over his chakra from earlier than there would be a good chance that he would go at least part of the way under if not all the way. This was a fact even obvious to the jounin, thus the reason he had attempted to do a little bit of training out here on the lake and also the reason he wasn’t able to unleash his full speed or strength on top of the now wavy water below.

Well, I shouldn’t let myself look to silly in front of the kid... ‘ As the man’s descent speed increased he was forced to remove his gaze from the retreating genma host and take a look at his own situation, not being able to fly like Shinjiro. Though as he neared the surface the man would kick downward with his right leg after first raising the knee of the leg about waist high now, the action itself didn’t seem that impressive but the result was a bit different as it was like the man had stepped on a solid portion of air as though there was an invisible step there for the man to use. This brought the man’s fall to an immediate halt as he seemed to push off the air now, though only slightly, allowing himself to move parallel to the surface of the water for about ten meters now before touching down gently on the surface of the water. Below where he had ‘pushed off from’ a small shockwave of air had been created and slammed itself downward into the rippling water below creating a momentary depression in the water like an explosive note had went off at the water’s surface. His momentum was carried through the leap as chakra was focused on both feet and one hand now as he touched down with the three points of contact sliding several meters across the water before coming to a complete halt.

As he came to a stop the man rolled his shoulders a bit and stood up straight now, allowing for his gaze to once more enter back up into the sky and behold the young genma host as he wondered were the boy’s escorts were. After all such a powerful tool of the village like the Body Genma shouldn’t be out all on his own, but as a jounin now he had heard that the host was rather hard for even experienced shinobi to keep track of which was something he could somewhat understand seeing the transformation abilities of the spirit were in complete control by this host. Having heard the words that addressed him as he fell the man spoke as soon as his eyes lifted back into the sky, “Not bad kid, I’m Hitachi.” The man didn’t even seem to take notice towards the lack of ‘respect’ that was given in the words of the boy before him, honestly he was such a new jounin that he hadn’t gotten use to being given that level of respect yet and thus hardly expected it.

But as he strived for a position as a full member of the swordsman, to truly gain that amount of recognition, that would change. Hitachi’s voice held only a tone of greeting as he lifted his muscular left arm for a casual greeting wave with his words now before slowly beginning to walk forwards a to the water’s wavy surface that had been created by the sudden pushing off of the air a few moments earlier had already began to settle down causing the lake to gain an almost mirror like appearance to itself once more. “Where are your escorts at, my young friend?

Shinjiro did not miss the fact that had the Kaguya not hesitated he would have been within his grasp. Truly his physical might was impressive, it was a goal to strive towards himself though his greatest inspirations remained those of Karagata Shiv and Kaguya Yamai. One a legendary assassin and the other a swordsman of unapparelled skill with a blade. Shinjiro strived to excel in both fields while also mastering the powers of the Genma bestowed unto him. When it came to sheer physical might he wished to become the undisputed most revered shinobi in Kirigakure. Of course he wasn’t surprised that the man recognized him. Any Kirigakure shinobi worth their salt knew of the villages Jinchurriki. They were treated like celebrities, there was even a parade held in their honor after a sealing took place. While Shinji had been a Jinchurriki several years longer than Nishiki however he was the more reclusive of the two and was rarely seen in public though that didn’t mean that people forgot who he was. Though he wasn’t always recognizable immediately, his green aura of chakra and transformations into various animals were unmistakably the work of the Body Genma, whom had previously been sealed within a very notable young woman by the name of Katsu, whom had received scorn by many for her belligerence and frequent disobedience, eventually having the beast stripped from her after she went on a rampage, killing many skilled shinobi in the process.

There were whispers that she still lived, having fled the village a broken shell of herself though mostly these rumors were seen as nothing more than a tale to scare Genin into remaining loyal and not wander too far from the village. The winged teenager observed with mild curiosity as the Jounin descended. He was anticipating him to fall into the water, though always he was prepared for the possibility of hidden tricks or talents to emerge. And so when the man kicked off the air itself he was only moderately surprised. “Oh? That’s a neat trick” he noted. It seemed a little unnecessary for him to learn however, given that he could grow wings whenever he needed to. Descending to about 8 meters above the water and 5 meters away horizontally, Shinji would be in a much more comfortably speaking range. “Hitachi, hmm. I might just remember that” he mused aloud. The man seemed notable enough but it was too soon to say if it would actually stick, after all there was a whole Festival ahead of him and there was no telling what kind of powerful individuals he would discover.

He assumed the man knew his name upon recognizing him as the Body Genma host and therefore felt no need to return the introduction. The teenager shrugged his shoulders, his attitude aloof and casual as his bodyguards were inquired about. “Hell if I know. If they can’t keep up with me that’s their own damn fault. I imagine they’ll be catching up soon though. Maybe I’ll have to put a request in to have you replace them, you seem capable enough…ahh, actually on second thought that seems more trouble than it’s worth” he realized. He didn’t particularly want anyone breathing down his neck and didn’t care enough about anyone to actually seek the company. Besides, if all went according to plan he would be ranking up to Special Jounin before the month was over and therefore should be granted more freedom of movement without the need for an escort. “What do you say to providing some entertainment in the meantime? It’s rare to find someone I can practice against without worrying about killing them. No promises of course, holding back isn’t a strong suit of mine” he forewarned. Despite only being a 14-year old Chunin, Shinjiro radiated complete confidence and power, well beyond his years. His bold green eyes gleamed with intensity as a slight smirk crossed his youthful face. He knew this man wouldn’t hesitate on the chance to spar against a Jinchurriki.

Taking off suddenly Shinji would ascend high into the sky, before tucking his wings in and flipping into a backwards dive, as he gained momentum he would spin right side up and unfurl his wings, rolling to the left before beating them several times to quickly gain his maximum speed of 39. It would likely be far more than the Jounin could have possibly anticipated to come from someone so young and low ranked. Though it would be difficult to track his opponent’s movements and even keep up with the perception of his own speed, Shinjiro would make admirable attempts to maneuver around the skies, dipping along the water in pursuit of his target and creating significant waves in the wake of his low flying angles. He would work his angles, attempting to find an opening as he made close fly by’s, lashing out near instantly with his swords without breaking pace. It was the first time he had attempted proper combat with these wings of his. His speed in this form was remarkable and his attacks both precise and relentless though he knew he couldn’t maintain such a fast paced assault for very long.

"Oh, I see." The young jounin mused to himselfabout the fact that the host for the Body Genma had managed to slip awayfrom his body guards, how troublesome it must be for one to be tasked with keeping an eye on this kid. Shaking his head slightly as the man looked up wards the fellow Kiri ninja who had allowed for him to descend to around eight meters off the rippling water's surface now, taking not of the boldness and arrogance that the Jinchurriki had about himself and the manner in which he spoke to others. Perhaps it was due to the genma within him thataffected the shinobi's attitude or perhaps it was simply just how the boy saw himself as a genma host, one that should be above those around him due to the secret power contained within him with the spirit. Either way the man shrugged his exposed muscular shoulder now to the words of Shinjiro about him being capable enough but it perhaps being more trouble that it would be worth. Before meeting the boy he had heard of the troubles of those who were tasked with surprising genma had and it was honestly something that would never wish for himself as his sole goal was to continue on the path of the Seven. "You truly seem like it would be more trouble than it's worth, as well."

Hitachi would finally reply to the shinobi's comment, expressing his lack of desire to do anything of the sort as he was not in the mind set of babysitting other shinobi as that was a task left for lesser skilled individuals. "Entertainment you say? Well, that would really depend on you, after all." Once more the well-muscled shinobi would shrug his shoulders at the words from the kid before him who was still hovering due to the help of the wings manifested due to the Body Genma's powers. "It isn't often that I can go without holding back, let's play for a bit." The man's bright blue eyes appeared to almost glow as they locked onto his target now, the boy seemed to be boasting a bit and the young Kaguya was interested to find out if behind those bold words was some actual skill. What kind of strength did this future weapon of the village really have? He'd never experienced the abilities of the Body Genma in person and part of him could wait as he only hoped that the host wouldn't disappoint him in this little performance. The man could feel that his control had improved slightly even with just the brief exercise and movements atop the liquid surface of the cool lake and this was just the opportunity to be able to do a number of things at once.

A smooth transition of the man's feet happened as the left foot shifted slightly forward and the right leg moved slightly back become the rear leg in the fighting stance as the man's hands slid around onto his back removing a second set of fist blades. This was a simple training set that lacked the explosive qualities of his true fighting weapons and while he didn't really feel the need to hold back against the genma host, it was a movement done out of habit with sparing with those from his own village. Both fist weapons and their curved blades came up into what could have been mistake for a boxing style stance now while the man's observing eyes tracked the ascending movements of the young chuunin causing for a delighted smile to now appear on Hitachi's thin lips. "How interesting." The boy had reached the peak of his climb and flipped over starting to rapidly descend as he took a noticeable leap in speed that approached even his own level of speed that caused the man's blue eyes to widen even so slightly. Perhaps there really was some level of skill and/or strength to this young kid after all, or at least that was the hope from the White Phantom. A nickname that went deeper than his white hair and speed as the young one was about to experience firsthand as he had been given that nickname due to his powerful and quick instincts that made fighting him like fighting a ghost who was able to sense attacks even if he wasn't fully away of them, able to instinctively dodge, retreat, or attack allowing for him to efficiently fight multiple foes.

'Let me experience this one's skill.' With that approach and speed of the young one Hitachi began to dance about the water in reaction to the swooping attacks that came at him, despite the speed of the incoming attacks his body was able to react even faster than he physically could as he dodged to the outside of the first of a series of attacks from the chuunin. But what the jounin was interested the most in was not the fact that the wings had increased his is speed but the drawing and sheathing technique that had not escaped the powerful visual acuteness of the swordsman's eyes, it was without a doubt a Iaido skilled, the sword style focused on drawing at extreme speeds from one's sheath. As a student of the sword, despite his chose in weapons of fist swords, the man drew his own techniques and personal style from the study of other styles. Picking and choosing techniques that best fit for him. The man studied the movements of the chuunin who had reached a new level of speed thanks to the wings upon his back, seeing the tensing of the muscles throughout the body and within the arms and hands of the swordsman who drew from his Iaido style of combat. The second pass was not as much of a surprise as the two men circled around one another, one on the water's surface and the other zipping through the skies above the water.

As each moved and crossed paths with one another it created almost explosion like effects in the water due to the sheer speed of the two as they crossed blades. Hitachi couldn't help but continue to smile as every attack came from the same place but each of those attacks when the chuunin struck out came from a slightly different angle and the precision demonstrated from the areas begin targeted by the swordsman while duel wielding his two katana was impressive in itself even if he hadn't been flying while doing so. It just went to demonstrate how comfortable the kid was with his two katana now, was this guy already a dagger? Hitachi was truly too new to the swordsmen to know more than the man figures within the organization as daggers were not currently on his thoughts. The second attack which would have been made by the flashing pair of katana from Shiji with each of the simultaneous attacks from him towards the jounin being first met with the pair of fist blades which pushed either side as they impacted upon the fist blades, that were obviously brought up to defend, allowing the katana to follow the curved blade off to either side now.

Then something happened without him even thinking about it as the sparks from the two blades clashed a second time the man instinctively followed up the clash with a spinning round house style attack meant to strike the hip of the man as he flew by. The whirling style of moment was something Hitachi was very accustom to and was able to move about and track targets even while moving in such a fashion. Though the kick wasn't made at full force it had actually be something that his body had instinctively done out of a trained thought process, in which if he was able to block an attack he needed to immediately seize that opportunity to retaliate if the opening presented itself.

[Dodge Outside]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Having mastered this Discipline, should they be in close quarters combat, their body instinctively dodges to the outside of an attack which forces them to be constantly moving around their opponent. These dodges are only successful if their average [Tai+Instinct+Speed /3] is greater than the speed of the attack.

[Seamless Skill]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
A skill utilized by those on the path to mastery of their weapon, users of Seamless Skill are actively able to transition between offensive and defensive usage of the aforementioned weapon. By transitioning so seamlessly, the user is able to save a marginal amount of energy while attacking.

[Increased Awareness]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: 15 Instinct
A discipline involving the mental preparation for the constant movement and striking involved in Hitachi's fighting style. This enables the user to gather snippets of vision, sounds and tactile sensory information in order to be properly aware of the battlefield around them whether standing still or in rapid circular motion. The user is effectively aware of their surroundings within Instinct/3m of their person, able to recognize when attacks are coming and the body positions of opponents.

[Counter Block]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
When a technique of the opponent's is block, the user will instinctively strike as the hand they aren't blocking with, throwing a strike into the openings created by the block.

This also allows or the user to focus upon smaller micro movements of the body of those they are fighting. By understanding the micro movements of the muscles, the small utterances of eye movement, and the ambient sounds of the body, the user can effectively predict what kind of macro movements (punches, kicks, directions) the individual fighting against is going to make after having observed movements of the target for more than two posts. This does not allow for a means of automatic dodging, but does give heed to what sort of movements will be or is most likely to be occurring next due to their previous observation time.

Shinjiro moved through the skies like a demon. To most his movements were nothing more than a blur of grey and black with the occasional streak of green and the sudden flashes of his blade clashing with the steel of his opponent’s weapons. ‘Oh? He is good’ Shinjiro noted, his smirk growing into a grin. The power of his superiors never seized to amaze him. All the more reason to never underestimate his opponents. As much as he acted arrogant it was largely a ploy. He was constantly testing others, approaching with utmost caution and attempting to provoke reactions, aiming to get under their skin and coax them into revealing more of themselves and their abilities while he kept several trump cards up his sleeve. As an assassin foremost, gauging the strength of others was essential and he had developed quite the knack for it in his short lifetime. ‘Once again you’ve bitten off more than you can chew. Like the others he will beat you into the ground. Your weakness persists’ Vorashu mocked in a low haunting tone. He liked to constantly remind Shinjiro of his shortcomings, pushing him to give more of himself to the Phantom Beast of Body in pursuit of greater power.

The Karagata’s movements seemed completely natural, weaving and adjusting his angles with grace and precision. With every pass he was growing more comfortable with the use of these wings and despite having a hard time seeing the precise actions of his opponent he knew enough about combat to keep himself from getting too predictable. Attacking for a low pass against the legs with one motion, feinting and barrel rolling out of the way pre-emptively, anticipating attacks before they were even made to make up for his lack of ability to reliably react after a counter had been initiated. Some passes he would attack with just one sword while others he might utilize both simultaneously or spin his body in mid attack, lashing out his second sword in a staggered motion that would act as both a defence against a counter attack as well as an attack of his own should his opponent not dodge out of the way. ‘I get stronger with every fight’ he asserted. He could feel it. Fighting this man was just like the previous year when he had sparred against the Kiri MN known as Zai. He still couldn’t properly defend against shinobi of such calibre, but he had the speed, and if he moved before they had a chance to attack or counter then he could keep up for a short time. Of course the longer a match went on both the more he began to tire and the more such a skilled combatant would recognize what he was doing. Sooner or later they would learn to anticipate his patterns of anticipating, attacking in a way that he wouldn’t have accounted for.

Eventually such a kick would connect and Shinjiro would tuck his wings and spin with the force of the kick, on the second roll lashing an arm out which would transform into a black snake, rocketing forth with 39 Speed as he instinctively countered, aiming to bite the offending limb and inject its venom. Regardless if it connected, his wings would spread open once more, dampening his momentum and slowing down his rotation once more as he threw an explosive-laden kunai with his opposite hand, aimed center of mass as he quickly obtained a visual on his target. Despite the power behind the kick Shinjiro didn’t hesitate for a moment or flinch in the slightest. His ribs would be bruised to some extent but that level of pain wouldn’t phase him or impede his ability whatsoever. Long ago he had learned to remove himself from such restrictions. The snake arm would now seem to deteriorate, preventing any attempt to grab hold of it as the snake portion disappeared, the mass of snake scales around where his arm was now reverting to a human hand.

One might also note that despite the fatigue that coursed through the Chunin’s body he hid any sign of weakness exceptionally well. His breathing remained steady, his heart rate soft. Every breath was practiced and monitored, so much so that it was completely undetectable by anyone without enhanced senses and likewise were all of his movements. Every action no matter how minor displayed years of dedication and practice to keep himself fluid and precise. Truly he was a living weapon with no childhood to speak of. This was his entire life, his entire focus and reason for existing. His eyes would meet his opponents for a brief moment as his wings snapped to action, propelling him backward once more. His gaze was intense and focused. Green eyes removed of any of his previous aloofness or arrogance. Only pure killing intent remained.

Assassins Fortitude
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequitite: [Rigid Structure]
Having grown up exposed to all manner of pain and torture Shinjiro’s pain receptors have been numbed as a result, in addition to his own tolerance surpassing the threshold of most shinobi. He can withstand up to moderate lacerations, burns, fractures, bludgeoning and electrocution without even flinching. This allows him to continue to fight and push through such sensations without impairing his focus. The drawback to such resistance is that he can very easily underestimate how badly he is injured which could lead to potentially fatal consequences. Moreover breaking genjutsu through pain becomes much more difficult and highly impractical.

Shadow Step
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite:[Stealth]
Trained in the ways of an Assassin, silent movement is one of the Karagata families most esteemed talents. Shinjiro can run at his full speed without making a sound, light on his toes and able to breathe softly and evenly at the perfect opportunities he is so skilled that even his clothes or weapons don’t rustle. Even his heartbeat is slow and barely detectable unless an opponent has an enhanced hearing technique of equivalent or higher rank. However when walking his stealth is superior to such an extent that he is completely undetectable by means of sound.

Serpent strike
C-Ranked Partial Kaerujutsu
Focusing chakra into a limb/appendage of choice the area will glow green before transforming into either a green or black venomous snake which can then extend up to 5 meters to bite or constrict around an opponent. If bitten the target will experience nausea, blurred vision, elevated heart rate and sweating for 3 posts as the venom flows through their system. Shinji can maintain his limb in this form for as long as he wishes and revert it at a whim.

Oops…’ The young Kaguya didn’t make any signs of hesitation when he struck out with the round house kick out of instinct, only having the single thought of ‘oops’ as he hadn’t planned on attacking the boy straight out yet instead wishing to draw the fight out a bit to see just what other tricks that body genma had to offer. As it was truly the first time that the jounin had been given the opportunity to test out a Jinchurriki for himself and it was a good time to figure out just how sharp the village’s killing tool truly was. With the kick having connected the body moved through a well practiced manner of rapidly spinning in order to bring the foot back down onto the unsteady surface of the water that had been rocked multiple times due to the handful of clashes between the pair of shinobi Even as the body spun due to the momentum created by the kick that landed against Shinjiou, around the man his senses were spread out into the area feeding him back sensory information. The man’s head was stuck on his left shoulder as he turned in the counterclockwise motion allowing for the shinobi’s bright blue eyes to almost immediately get back on target as his opponent had been sent into a spin having been knocked perpendicular from the previous angle of movement due to the force of the strike only a moment earlier.

But now he was faced with something truly unexpected, his senses that were spread out several meters hinting at the coming attack but it was truly unlike anything that he’d seen before. One of the boy’s arms had transformed into what appeared to be a scaly black snake which traveled just as fast as the boy had been moving before. It was such a short distance that dodging it was almost impossible, it was an awkward feeling to be pressured so much by such a young shinobi, perhaps this was just the kind of power all genma host possessed? How scary! Hitachi had been forced now to actually fight at his full strength, if only for a moment, it was time to demonstrate another reason why the man had earned his rather simple nickname aside from his astute instincts in combat. With the attack on his way it would normally take to long in order to accelerate to dodge such a close range attack even with the incredible strength possessed by the Kiri swordsman, yet there was a single way as the man allowed for his concentration to be placed solely on the power and agility of his legs in that moment. Then the man seemed to almost casually lean to the right and from the chuunin’s point of view the snake would impact the man opening its mouth to reveal a set of nasty looking fangs that were about to land a poisonous bite upon the jounin.

Yet, in the brief moment before the fangs were able to latch onto the leg the white haired shinobi moved to the right and forwards to meters, appearing to have more or less teleported from his prior position like some sort of ghost or phantom now. But that wasn’t the end as the boy would have been able to identify the new location before letting loose the kunai tagged with an explosive not on the ring of the kunai’s hilt towards the man. Hitachi was still focused on utilizing that stance he’d casually dubbed the ‘Phantom Step’ now and he seemed to drift to the left slightly allowed for his left shoulder to lead off at an angle to the front left of his current position. The kunai seemed to pass straight through where the slightly older shinobi’s torso should have been as the image of the man faded and two meters to the left and forward once more reappeared the fist blade wielding swordsman. Hitachi had limited himself to only about half the maximum distance of the stance’s movement range in order to limit the amount of stamina it took to utilize it, instant acceleration was not something easy to do and the small beads of sweat that appeared on his forehead and the back of his neck and those hidden within his spikey white hair were tell-tell signs that this was a stance he normally didn’t used lightly. But the young Kaguya was impressed that he would be forced to do so in order to avoid the strange snake appendage of the body genma’s host, it would truly seem that there may very well be no limit but one’s imagination as to the type of transformations that his opponent could do with his body at the moment.

Powerful mastery over his spirit’s chakra and transformation abilities, incredibly fast and precise sword work with more than one sword, this young shinobi before him was the prime example of what a shinobi was supposed to be and it caused for a smirk to appear upon the man’s thin lips of his pale skinned face. Out of the corner of his eye the man was able to see that there was no chance to take advantage of the extended snake limb as it had rapidly broken apart into a trail of scales that fell onto the rough water beneath the man’s feet. That dismissed the thought to use the appendage to counter attack and it seemed like that had been a forethought of the young man before him in order to prevent just such a thing from happening against a well seasoned taijutsu user. Though what caught the most attention from the observing eyes of the jounin was that despite the blow from earlier, all the previous exchanges, and the boy using the body genma’s power the entire time, Shinjiou still seemed cool and composed as his heart rate and breath remained steady. If not for the fact of Hitachi’s enhanced senses and high level of instinct the man may have very well not have even been able to hear any of the bodily sounds of the young kid or his movements. Theses were the skills of an assassin, the white haired jounin having his own similar set of skills, but for someone this young to have developed them was truly an interesting thing to the jounin as he had settled back into the boxing style stance after actively dodging the thrown kunai. “This feeling, it would seem that the boy’s killing intent has finally been roused up. Perfect…

With the seething urge to kill leaking from his opponent, the pair could finally be serious in this little contest between the two Kiri nin as the knees of each leg bent slightly allowing for energy to build up within them after the two phantom dodges earlier. His opponent flapped his wings sending himself backwards, having been the object of assault up to this point and feeling that his control over his chakra had reached a point that he could safely unleash his own power atop the water Hitachi made his move. It was a signature technique of his style that was all about speed, power, and violence of action as the man gripped each fist blade slightly tighter and pushed off the water. The movement was an explosive one in nature as the water behind him erupted like a small geyser and the man had been propelled forward, yet it wasn’t as simple as a single head on attack. The man’s body and arms began to make arching strikes as his body seemed to transform into a tornado of blades as he rapidly approached the retreating chuunin now. Though the blades themselves weren’t sharpened getting hit from either of the blades with the man’s increasing strength wouldn’t be a fun time...

Shinjiro’s eyes narrowed as his target seemed to vanish from his previous position, staggering forward in a fashion that appeared akin to teleportation or as if he had struck a mere clone. Given his speed however it was quite likely a form of afterimage or a sudden acceleration type movement. He had learned similar skills through his training as an assassin however they were not nearly so refined nor as versatile as the type of movement Hitachi displayed. Truly there was a great deal he could learn from this man. He would certainly remember him and seek him out in the future. More than ever it was apparent that Shinjiro was outclassed and yet every moment he was gaining valuable combat experience and so the only true way he could lose would be if he were to die.

As the young Jinchuriki observed the way the White Phantom avoided his kunai Shinji came to the conclusion that even predicting the movements and reactions of his opponent would not be enough. His advantage in both speed and Taijutsu skill was great enough that he would be able to evade even a well layered attack. Even still, his own perception was lacking when it came to competing against elite Jounin and Bannin, that was to be expected of course. He was still a Chunin after all and one who had only recently turned 15 but nonetheless he knew there were those younger than him whom had achieved more. Age, rank, they meant nothing to him in terms of limiters for his own potential. All that mattered was victory and in his shortcomings finding greater strength. He knew it was likely that even relying on the power of Vorashu would not be enough to overcome this opponent but that wouldn’t stop him from treating this like a fight to the death. Shinji was not one to spar lightly, hence why he only sparred with skilled Jounin as a minimum. He wouldn’t waste time detonating the seal, it had been meant as a deterrent and a means of observing his opponent’s reactions after all.

Before Shinjiro could pull back for another attack however his opponent rushed forward, closing the gap at staggering speeds. The young shinobi evaluated in an instant that he would be unable to adequately maneuver to evade a continued assault and instead switched to defense. His wings retracted back into himself as an black armor manifested around his torso, extending even over his neck and collarbone and as low as his hips, this was not the only thing that changed however as the actual joints and muscles of his limbs and neck altered. As the first strike would strike his torso the black shell would crack slightly at the point of impact and Shinjiro’s limbs would suddenly pull into the shell, even his head would dip out of target, resulting in the ensuing strikes damaging the shell heavily but also sending Shinjiro flying backwards as a speed equal to the attackers strength, forcing him to keep chase at his top speed and expend a great deal of energy in his relentless pursuit. Shinjiro meanwhile would be quite rattled about inside of the shell though his chakra would begin to build up, coating him in a sickly green aura as he entered the first form of his chakra cloak. The moment there was any break in pace that would indicate an opening Shinji would transform into a giant Octopus, expelling a cloud of ink towards his assailant before slipping into the lake and diving deep, both to take a moment to assess his injuries and regroup for another attack of his own.

He was already feeling the onset of fatigue set in though he wouldn’t give in yet. He aimed to at least land one solid blow on his opponent as well as force his opponent to fight at their full strength in order to defeat him. After all one could not survive true life or death battles unless they trained at the highest levels where the stakes felt real. Of course he doubted that the Kaguya Jounin would aim to seriously injure a Jinchurriki while they were still on the outskirts of the Fur Country Festival. It wouldn’t do well for Kirigakure’s reputation to have any of their most elite shinobi unable to participate in the events or make a name for themselves while in attendance. Such things however were far from Shinjiro’s mind at present time. His focus was entirely on the man whom he fought, revelling in the opportunity to test the extent of his mastery over his powers as a Jinchurriki.

The man’s body and arms had moved into the arching strikes as Kiri jounin’s body had completely transformed into what appeared to be a tornado of blades now as he rapidly closed the gap on the retreating chuunin, eager to see just how well the young shinobi held up under the pressure that he planned to put on him. Though the blades themselves weren’t sharpened getting hit from either of the blades with the man’s slowly increasing strength wouldn’t be a fun time on the host’s end, but as he moved closer and closer to the rapidly flying body genma host the chuunin once more used the power of his spirit to manipulate the shape and density of his body. This time the wings withdrew and forming around the torso was black armour would quickly manifest around the slender torso of the young man, extending even over the ninja’s next and collarbone while it covered as low as his hips. ‘A defensive body modification, quick thinking on the boy’s part, I wonder just how strong this tortoise looking shell really is...

Despite the rapid circular movements of the arms and body as one that gave the appearance of a mini cyclone of snow flowing across the water, Hitachi was perfectly at ease due to the amount of experience he had fighting in this manner, one that had grown to become his own personal style of sword play with the fist blades whirling about. Another small detail didn’t escape the detail oriented eye of the jounin now as the boy’s limbs and joins seemed to become different, but in the heat of battle and without prior experience in fighting with Shinjiro the man wasn’t sure exactly what had happened to the shinobi’s body. But the further that he managed to push the ninja into revealing the abilities of the body genma the more impressed he was becoming, every technique used by the chuunin was created for a specific purpose by the host, demonstrating the intelligence of the chuunin and mastery over the spirit’s chakra to be able to flow in an out of each transformation. If it had not been for the pair of fist blades currently occupying the fighter’s hands then he might have even applauded the critical thinking skills of his smaller opponent now.

Let me test it out!’ A casual smile remained on the blue eyed shinobi’s thin lips now as his eyebrows lowered slightly and he pushed forward under his own speed and not the acceleration of the same movement technique he used a few moments earlier. But he quickly discovered that Shinjiro had lost the same burst of speed that he had been using earlier while flying with the bat-like wings, most likely the speed had been a side effect of the body transformation. With that thought in mind Hitachi would take the moment to attack the shell head on as the body of the fighter continued to spin in a similar manner to that of a toy top and the raining slashes from the unsharpened par of fist weapons finally caught up to the now slower target. Several attacks would come down upon the shell in rapid succession, though he wasn’t using his full strength against the younger shinobi he was still not holding back that much as the strength was close to what a normal jounin would be able to put out.

Each blow was placed in a different spot on the shell as he had witnessed that the shinobi had the ability to truly turtle up at this point pulling in both arms and legs and lastly his head into the protection of the shell now. “Heh.” A simple and quick laugh passed through the small crack between the fighter’s lips at the image of the boy turning into a turtle and withdrawing all limbs and head into the safety provided by the black shell. As he felt out the shell striking it on the top, bottom, and sides it would appear that the shell was truly a formidable defensive technique as there did not appear to be any weaknesses in the shell itself. Only through sheer violence of strength and number of blows would he be able to smash through the shell without striking it with a great deal of his actual strength and risking seriously injuring the chuunin within. With that thought in mind he began to ping the shell around as though it was a ball in a pinball machine and his strikes were the flippers as the damage began to rapidly expand. At this point the man was lost in the wonders of combat with another, not even having to spare the concentration to the chakra that coated the bottom of his combat boots at the moment. Without even realizing it the man had slowly gained a decent leap in the control of his chakra, at least from a standpoint of using it with lower ranking jutsu such as the basic water walking technique.

There truly was something unique about the country of Fur during this time of the year when the festival was held, yet the jounin wouldn’t even comprehend the gains that he was reaping at the moment due to the thrill of battle that he’d lost himself within at the moment. A number of strikes had rattled the exterior of the previously intact shell as the damage caused for the shell to linger on the edge of complete compromise and in turn destruction at the hands of Hitachi now. Seeing the shape of the shell the young jounin didn’t bother to hesitate anymore and pushed forward once more after exerting a bit of his stamina to continuously assault the shell in bursts of attack. This time delivering a single, powerful strike that would be able to shatter the shell of protection around the chuunin but what was revealed from the broken shield was not the boy but instead a giant octopus. Because he’d just broken the shell and was caught off guard from such a short range all the man could do was tuck his chin down and bright both arms that were in a boxer style stance across one another to help defend his face from the blast of ink.

How sneaky…this genma host is a hard one to pin down. Impressive…’ The man’s face was spared the cloud of ink to the face but his snow white hair and robes were on the opposite end of the spectrum now as they were covered in splotches of dark ink. He’d truly been tricked this time, it would seem that the host of the soul genma could really transform into almost anything. Even using it to gain an advantage in the environment as a sea creature in the lake now as the man slowly straightened up letting the excess ink drip from the fist blades now onto the calming surface of the lake. ‘Guess I’ll have to wait on him to make the next move…

Shinjiro didn’t particularly like the feeling of being battered and spun around like a top, completely at the mercy of his opponent. He wasn’t sure how much the Jounin was holding back, if at all. His speed was staggering though strong as his shell was he hadn’t expected to hold out under a sustained assault by a superior and therefore concluded the man was toying with him or simply having fun testing out his defences. The thought made the young shinobi snarl, he despised feeling weak or vulnerable. As if on cue, Vorashu would sense even the most miniscule feelings of weakness and creep up within his mind. ‘Pitiful. You disgrace these borrowed powers, cowering within your shell. Prey. That is all you are. One can only hope he crushes in your skull, releasing me from such a weak vessel’ the Genma seethed his voice low and haunting, echoing in his mind like the caw of a crow. ‘Will you shut the hell up already? I’m not done yet, not even close. I’ll never lose to someone who’s not even fighting to kill’ he gritted his teeth throughout the mental conversation as his heart rate began to pick up from his normal trained silence. He wanted blood, dominance, to prove how strong he truly was.

Despite the protective outer layer of the shell the boy’s body was being battered, his skin and muscles had merged with the inner layer of shell, creating a true connection of tissues. Finally the shell would shatter into pieces, tearing away from flesh though as it did the connecting tissues would absorb back into his body as his mass reconfigured into something else entirely while the broken pieces of shell flaked away and dematerialized. He didn’t stick around long enough to feel any satisfaction when the stream of ink sprayed across the upper half of his opponent’s body. It had served its purpose, potentially blinding the man and covering his hands in the oily substance, making gripping his weapons more cumbersome. He hadn’t expected it to be much of a lingering disadvantage for someone of the skill level of Hitachi of course.

About 20 meters underwater Shinjiro would revert to his human form, at this depth the faint glow of green chakra would be unlikely to be visible from the surface. His first form wouldn’t be quite enough. He didn’t just want to strike his opponent, he wanted to rip his limbs clean off his body if he could. The sickly green aura of chakra would grow into a larger cloak around him now as his braided hair grew from the base of his neck down to his mid-back and his arms lengthened by 4 inches giving him an unnaturally lanky appearance. Hitachi would not be privy to seeing this change however, at least not yet for Shinjiro had other plans in mind. Beginning to swim upwards and quickly picking up speed the young assassin would suddenly transform into a massive black Sea Turtle, his mouth would seem to manifest around the Jounin, already wide open and appearing above the surface of the water, Shinjiro would continue to propel upwards as he clamped down his mouth, the edges sharp as any sword and far more durable than standard steel. He would swallow the man whole if he could or take a leg if he was not able to utilize his staggering speed to evade the sudden surprise attack.

Shinjiro’s wrath had been awakened, his killing intent fully manifested as he no longer held any reservations of his opponent's life. Such was the price to pay when one dared to hold back against the Jinchuriki of the Body Genma. If his opponent had in fact avoided the crushing bite Shinjiro would emerge from the water with enough force to create large waves around him before smashing down into the surface of the lake in a full body slam, delivering 36 Strength of force to crush anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves beneath him as well as send a massive tidal wave surging out at 29 Strength and Speed all around him.

“Ink…” With a loud sigh the blue eyed man knelt down as his knee touched the surface of the cool water, both of his hands remained tightly gripped on the weapons as he took the lack of action to attempt and wash away the ink by dipping his hands and forearms in the nippy water to rinse his weapons and skin. A ripple could be felt atop the water by the man who was currently knelt atop it, like something deep beneath him had shifted the water ever so slightly upwards. For something to cause this level of change from so deep the jounin could only wonder just what this kid was up to know to move so much water from a depth that he couldn’t visibly see him. ‘Come at me kid, this is just starting to get fun.’ A smile had crept on thin lips of the white haired man as the muscles in his arms could visibly be seen tightening up as he had just managed to wash off the stick in from his weapons, hands, and forearms at this point.

This had truly been an eye opening fight as he’d never actually fought against a genma host and the unique abilities of the Kiri genma could only gain the unspoken approval from the newly promoted jounin. He pondered on what the kid would try next as it seemed like every time he came at him the young ninja continued to step up his game to the next level and his combat experience was above the level of a normal chuunin. Just who was incharge of training this guy? It definitely wasn’t one of the body guards of the host who couldn’t even keep up with the shinobi. Hitachi was very interested to also meet whomever that was, trying to rack his mind with whom it might be. But those thoughts were interrupted as the water directly underneath him suddenly dropped as the huge turtle’s beak opened sucking in the water he’d been standing on, from his current position their was nothing for him to do being caught unprepared for such an attack?

‘What the fuck?!’ That was the only thing he could think as the sharp beak encompassed him completely. Had there been a spirit sleeping within this peacefully looking lake? It had definitely been large enough to hide something of this size which the man judged to be around twenty meters in side solely based upon the mouth of the creature. He was swallowed up completely by the turtles mouth as he hadn’t even thought about this being the boy from before, never hearing of the ability to transform to such a large extend as Shinjiro had just done. Unlike before when he was just trying to barely match the kid the jounin suddenly became serious as the darkness overtook him and the sunlight he had been standing within was cut off by the closing beak of what he thought to be a turtle spirit.

Feeling himself within the mouth of the creature as his feet touched down on the leather like tongue of the beast the eyes of the man closed for just a moment as chakra flowed into his feet keeping him slipping all the way down into the stomach. Using only a moment of focus all the muscles within the man’s body tensed at one as he prepared to utilize his full strength and speed in a powerful area assault on the inside of the turtle’s mouth. With the end result desired by the man to either smash his way out of the beak of the turtle or to inflict enough damage to force the spirit to open its mouth allowing for him to make a quick escape. Both eyes snapped open in the darkness like two dim lights as he pushed forward beginning to bounce around within the mouth of the turtle now using both the fist blade weapons, elbows, knee, and leg strikes to strike at the inside of the mouth.

There was something immensely satisfying about swallowing a person whole, almost as pleasing as biting a head clean off a person’s shoulders. In that moment Shinjiro knew he had caught his opponent off guard, few were prepared for the transition from his fast and efficient kenjutsu to the sheer brutality and destructive potential of his largest transformations. In fact this was his first time having to resort to this form, having only mastered the technique a few weeks prior to leaving for Fur Country. However his excitement was short lived as he felt the man remain in his mouth, stubbornly refusing to be eaten completely. There was pain next as the Jounin smashed the metal-like beak of the turtle, breaking off large pieces of the black hardened bone that shone like obsidian in the sunlight. There would be enough of an opening created for the man to made his retreat, just in time for Shinjiro to slam down against the water and potentially catch the man in the ensuing waves, though more likely he would manage to stay atop them, creating considerably distance between the two combatants now.

In the form of Genbu, Shinjiro felt his primal urges flowing through him, namely a powerful hunger. To have such a meal escape him was most upsetting however the human and logical part of him realized that it was likely for the best. Though the man wasn’t from a foreign nation and they weren’t yet within the village of Nekumi he was still his superior and so killing him might be problematic. It wasn’t like killing some Chunin that insulted him. There was a hierarchy and he did respect that. Still, the more Jounin he could best in combat or at least fight against as equals the more likely he would be to be promoted to Special Jounin, it was due time for an advancement in rank after all. He had been a Chunin for 4 years now and he knew that was mostly because he had been keeping his true strength secret for some time now, only training within his own household until meeting Kaguya Aimi and Aisu Kurou, as well as being inducted into the Seven Swordsmen as a Dagger. It had been enough recognition to finally let his superiors know just how strong he had become. He was hungry for more now, eager to become a full-fledged member of the swordsmen and to be able to travel throughout Water Country and beyond without being followed by guards.

As the waves crashed down all around him, spreading to the edges of the lake the full size of the massive turtle could be seen now as he remained only about halfway submerged in the water. “Hitachi…you are strong. Even against Jounin I’ve never had to go this far before” the boy called out, arrogant as ever. His voice seemed somewhat deeper, bellowing out though it was unmistakably that of Shinjiro. “This is good. I won’t have to worry about killing you” he proclaimed as the obsidian black shell of the Genbu form began to glow with the green aura of the Body Genma. He could have experimented further with the turtle form however he knew that it would leave him too slow to fight Hitachi head on and even his strength was not enough, as evident of the way he had broken free from his mouth. His chakra reserves at this point had diminished greatly however these larger forms helped supplement his Stamina to help maintain themselves. He could continue fighting for some time though when he did eventually revert to his human self the exhaustion would hit him all at once. Therefore he had to act with utmost aggression, reveling in the chance to utilize these transformations for the first time. The turtle form would suddenly contort as the black armored shell began to take on a red hue, its texture changing into feathers as much of the mass was absorbed back into his body and from it instead Shinjiro emerged as a large Phoenix, flying into the air and flapping its powerful and brilliantly red wings as he looked down on his adversary. Shinjiro’s body began to heat rapidly as he focused, so much so that as his wings flapped waves of heat emanated off of him and each feather seemed to shimmer as if they were made of fire. This would be the first time Shinji had ever successfully combined these two jutsu. He truly did get stronger with every fight, he could feel his competitive nature and natural combat instincts helping him progress at a remarkable rate.

“Ahhh!” One powerful strike after another, the man utilized his new found control over the chakra that flowed through the soles of his combat style boots to keep himself from slipping down into the belly of what he thought to be a spirit that was residing within the depths of the lake now. Each blow from the fist of the man as he wielded the fist blade weapons, his knuckles turning white as he squeezed the weapon tightly within each fist now, focusing on the beak of the turtles mouth. With each blow a portion of the turtle’s beak, which felt almost like striking metal, started to break off and after a short few moments and a handful of attack from Hitachi now a hole was created large enough to escape. It was like a light at the end of the tunnel for the jounin as he bent at the knees before launching himself forcefully through the opening he’d created escaping out into the light of the world once more. The cool air rushed against his body as he now rejoined the outside world, both hands up in a boxer like stance as he went to turn in mid air to find the massive turtle slamming itself against the water creating a set of large waves that pushed outward from its body.

Unluckily for the jounin the large wave would come crashing down on him, he’d known that the water this far north would be cold but as it washed over him the bone chilling cold of the northern lake’s water did as well. “Fuck that’s cold!” Drenched in water, the blue eyed man’s spiky white hair was now a mess atop his head as streams of water flowed down his face while his body was still skidding backwards across the surface of the water. Finally coming to a stop atop the water now the man’s legs were in a horse style stance as he brought his bright gaze onto the turtle and its truly massive size could be observed as it was only about halfway submerged in the lake’s waters at the moment. A rage had started to overcome the young jounin, to have almost been eaten by a turtle spirit was embarrassing, something that he’d need to fix right now and settle this act of treachery. Yet, he felt himself stop a half second before he had prepared to flash forward and meet this turtle head on as the familiar voice of the chuunin called out to him. “He’s that big ass turtle? How surprising!

How could the man not be surprised, he’d honestly thought the massive turtle had been a spirit, but now he could one hundred percent disconcert that it was the fellow Kiri shinobi. The abilities of the body genma’s host were truly intriguing. Who would have thought that the boy would have been able to transform himself into such a massive beast like this. Shaking his head to one side and then the next, flinging the water out of his short hair a smile broke out on the young man’s face as he allowed for his feet to shift closer to one another and his body to stand up straight now. “Most jounin don’t give me this much trouble…” A light chuckle accompanied the words, normal jounin usually weren’t his match when it came to fighting hand-to-hand but in the same manner he wasn’t the match for a powerful ninjutsu user or genjutsu user either, their was always someone else stronger than you or had a counter to your style. Both hands came back up into a fighting stance as he heard the host perclaim about now having to worry about killing you. “Hehe, the same, kid. Let’s fight for real now.” A confident tone of voice spoke out as a certain fire could be seen within the man’s bright blue eyes as he let his right foot slide back just slightly while he observed the new transformation of the chuunin.

What a big bird...is that a phoenix?” The turtle form would suddenly contort as the black armored shell began to take on a red hue, its texture changing into feathers as much of the mass was absorbed back into his body and from it instead the foe emerged as a large Phoenix, flying into the air and flapping its powerful and brilliantly red wings. But that wasn’t all as the man’s observant eye could see the heat that radiated off the feathers of the bird, it was almost like a shimmer or vapor that surrounded the creature now and caused for the air to condense as the heat that seeped from the bird clashed with the cool air above the lake. ‘What an interesting technique..’ With the faint smile remaining on the man’s thin lips now he shook his head lightly, this guy sure had a lot of battle experience, just who was it that he was training with to bring him to such a level? He was also impressed with the stamina reserves of this kid, to keep fighting and transforming into these different forms had to be pressing on him but he was able to continue to push and fight.

But his knowledge of spirit’s in general was pretty lacking so he didn’t know that the spirit was providing him with additional stamina. “Very well, let us dance….come!” With the fingers of the left hand he would flip the palm of the hand towards the sky giving a come here gesture with the fingers as he still held the blade in the palm of the hand with his thumb. Quickly returning the hand back around and positioning in his traditional boxer like fighting stance, this time he’d fight without holding anything back against this guy, something told him that he wouldn’t be able to hold back this time…

Shinjiro felt a sense of pride as the skilled Jounin praised him as being more of a challenge than most others that shared Hitachi’s rank. “I train exclusively with Jounin, some of the best in the village. For the last year or so I’ve cared more about training than taking missions, so I think the Mizukage is a bit out of touch with how far I’ve come. Feel free to pass on the message, now that I’m a Dagger I’m no longer interested in remaining a Chunin.” He declared. His hunger for power and recognition was growing. He had set a goal to surpass his elder siblings by the time he was 16 and though rank didn’t matter to him quite as much as actual ability he knew the value of respect and authority that came with advancement. Moreover the Seven Swordsman had a policy against making Chunin full fledged members and that too irked him. There was no comparison between him and the other Daggers or prospective apprentices. He believed he had the skill for a full position now and was beginning to grow impatient waiting for Chiane to take notice and test him personally. However surely Hitachi had some influence in the village, if he could at least put the word in to the right people Shinji might just get the chance to further prove himself.

As the Jounin mentioned beginning to fight for real now the young Karagata felt a moment of trepidation but also excitement. He had been hiding his fatigue well, it was a product of his extensive training. As an assassin he had to keep his breathing steady and not show any sign of weakness of hesitation for an opponent to take advantage of. This often meant pushing through pain, extensive injury and absolute exhaustion until one succeeded in their task and then collapsing afterward, potentially with fatal consequence should the stakes be high enough. Shinjiro knew he wouldn’t be able to manage another transformation and even this one would only last for a few good attacks but his opponent didn’t know how close to the edge he truly was and he would fight with everything had until he could no longer. This meant getting a little creative. Having trained in the totem style since before even being sealed with Vorashu the boy was quite familiar with the various stances though he had never attempted to perform moves that didn’t naturally mesh with the form he was in at the time, combining them into a complete and versatile style. Now would be the time to properly put that to the test.

A-Rank Taijutsu Stance
[/b]Prerequisite:[/b] All previous archived stances
The adept has reached the peak of their ability, thus learned the most potent stance of this style. By focusing their body the adept is able combine the most powerful aspects of all other stances into a single fluid style. In doing so they remove the requirements for specific stances from their maneuvers.
Surging forward suddenly Hitachi would note a Speed of approach comparable to his own, the waves would begin to part from the sheer speed and power of the large bird as it swooped down, shifting as it came within 5 meters of Hitachi to flap its wings suddenly towards him releasing a wave of fire created from the sheer friction of movement from its heated feathers. It was no easy thing to create flames from taijutsu alone and though it likely wouldn’t do too much damage to the skilled Jounin it would likely be enough to momentarily stun him, at least causing him to protect his face as eyes as he had done before against the ink. All the while whatever water was on him would quickly evaporate and his prior complaint of being too cold would be remedied as minor burns would occur to exposed areas of skin. That was just the beginning of course as Shinji would flap his powerful wings again, bringing him propelling towards his opponent again, lashing out with another sudden burst of flame erupting from his claw this time in a much more powerful and condensed burst which would set the man’s clothes themselves alight and cause more substantial burns across his body if it were to touch him at all.

Hoping that the relatively large and sudden bursts of fire would catch him off guard and stun him for even a moment Shinjiro would adjust his trajectory to close in on his opponent and aim to quickly grab him wherever he could, clawing against his flesh with the powerful talons in search of something to take hold of. This was a particularly aggressive and overbearing action, derived from the Bear Style. Though the opponent was stronger than him he hoped his sheer size and ability to maneuver with his wings to tug and push at his opponent, trying to knock him off balance as they grappled might just be enough to get the grip he ultimately desired which was one arm and one leg, attempting to grab the man in such a way before flying high into the air with the intent of building up height, speed and momentum before pummelling him into the frigid and rocky shore of the lake. If the man struggled too much in the air and broke free he would aim to track his movement and make dive bombing sweeps at him with the intent of striking the spine and knocking him out of the air and forcefully driving him into the ground with his utmost strength and ferocity. It was the type of maneuver that would kill most shinobi though there was not a moment of hesitation or concern in Shinjiro’s mind. The only way he trained was with sheer intensity and killing intent which was precisely why his sparring partners were required to be exceptional shinobi and this man had been deemed to meet that criteria.

In a powerful surge they thrust their hands forward, sending a pressurized wave of fire and air directly forward at a rate of 3/4 their speed. It strikes with a force of 1/2 their strength out to their strength in yards in a straight line. The flames are intense enough to cause combustibles to burn instantly and cause second degree burns. The user can not do this again for 2 posts else risk taking the full force of the burns to themselves.

“Haha!” The white haired jounin actually roared loudly with his laughter, this young man was becoming more and more interesting to him now as he heard the chuunin declare that he was no longer interested in fighting other chuunin. But after the battle so far with the spirit host it was clear to see that not only was his tactical decision making skills above his rank but the strength and utility brought forth by the multiple types of transformations that came along with the genma ranked spirit sealed within him. As the laughter echoed in the wide open area the lake was contained within their was a smile forming once more on the man’s thin lips now as he gave a simple nod in response. He’d need to fight for real it seemed against this so called chuunin, just what amount of strength did the boy before him possess when enhanced by the spirit within? ‘Time to play…’

So fast!’ His bright eyes narrows, a slight glow seeming to almost appear within them now as he immediately pushed forwards to meet the beast head on, as was the temperament and the style of combat that Hitachi loved the move. He had not focused his entire life as a shinobi on close quarters combat to shrink away from the challenge of this shape shifting young man now, a look of excitement growing upon his long face as he prepared to engage the fellow Kiri ninja. ‘Fire!’ The body genma really lived up to the expectations placed upon him by the slightly older shinobi now as they entered almost into striking range before the flying bird flapped its wings releasing a wave of fire created from the shear friction of the phoenix heated feathers. It was too close to dodge without placing a great deal of strain on his body and thus could only cover up his face to protect his eyes now as the flames washed over him leaving light burns on his forearms and singeing his white coat causing a number of burn marks and holes to appear upon it.

Neat trick…’ The second round of flames were not to catch him as off guard as he observed the wings of the large beast drawing back once more and this time he was on his game, dodging off to one side and then the other as the muscular body of the man became more apparent now as the burnt white cloak fell off from being burned earlier to reveal his upper torso now. Both hands clenched tightly upon their respect fist sword now each bladed fist slamming out in what could only be described as a dual punch strike to meet the massive claw like talons of the beast that stretched out attempting to grab ahold of him. Only now was he able to experience the increased strength that this transformation had brought the genma host now. The powerful talons seemed to bring the bout of strength to a draw or stalemate as the pair collided with one another, two small explosions (D-rank) erupted from the blades as the impacted the tough skin of the bird’s talons but that didn’t stop them from using their larger size to grab hold of the shinobi's own hands as the weapons dug into either claw.

Shit!’ He’d been a little bit overconfident not having expected for the chuunin to be able to increase his strength to a level that almost matched his own and that had gotten him into a sticky situation now. With that the large phoenix was easily able to take the ninja away, rapidly ascending into the air building up not only height and speed. ‘Got to break free!’ It was the first thought as he was being pulled higher into the sky now as the man’s arms seemed to bulge slightly and the veins become very apparent as the man would now exerting his full strength against the beast that nearly rivaled his own level. Using both his full strength in his arms and legs the man would strike at and struggle against the grasp of the legendary bird’s talons in the moment before being able to finally break free as Hitachi would find himself in a sort of free fall backwards as he watched the spirit host ascend a bit more before turning to perform a dive bombing attack on him.

A slow exhale slipped through the mouth of the man as he flipped his body slightly allowed for his feet to be positioned towards the ground as he appeared to be moving into a fighting stance despite how he was falling quickly back towards the earth from a rather high place. Even as a strong shinobi falling from such a high would pose a high rise of injury, at least for another shinobi. “Come my little friend!” A powerful yell pushed through from the pit of the man’s stomach out of his mouth now towards the sweeping creature as the man kicked back with his rear leg and literally kicked off the air now. Drawing back the right fist blade as he did so, launching himself directly at the dive bomb style attack from the large bird, planning to strike the beast head on its beak or head with his full strength. Having utilized his ‘Illusion of flight’ technique to literally fight midair with Shinjiro.

Shinjiro noted, even in the midst of combat the way his planned distraction had in fact alerted his opponent to the types of attacks he could muster in this form, while the wave of flames impacted Hitachi, they were simply far too weak to cause any real damage against someone of this calibre. The follow up attack was the one that could have left lasting injury the burns from the blast of the claw strike being far more potent however the Jounin had managed to avoid this strike. He would remember this lesson for fighting strong opponents, always attack with everything he had when utilizing a new style, inflicting maximum damage before they could adapt and learn to predict his attack pattern. Nonetheless it was fortunate that the combination was not as simple as the fire attacks, he had at the least caused the man to continue to exert himself with the rapid movements in order to evade the powerful burst of flames and now Shinjiro could claw at his opponent, aiming to find purchase wherever he could, even when the man blocked his talons they were easily large enough to dig into his forearms and snare the man despite him being more powerful. That was all he needed to quickly ascend into the sky, his wings now helping him into position. The small D-Rank explosions had hardly even been felt.

The large Phoenix had ascended to about 40 meters by the time the man had struggled free, forcing open the talons and falling away from him. Shinji had anticipated this of course but now with so much open air at his disposal Hitachi would be forced to utilize his taxing technique to propel off of the air itself in linear movements while the Phoenix with its wings would have more maneuverability despite its much larger size. Shinji inwardly smirked as he noticed the Jounin propel himself directly towards him rather than aim to evade the dive-bombing attack. The combatants rocketed towards each other at incredible speeds, leaving Shinji only a split second to consider a change in tactics. He knew that if he met the man head on he was at a disadvantage. It would be smarter to attack in hit-and-run tactics, working his angles in sweeps, slashing him apart in a similar manner to how he fought at the beginning of the match. However, given their rapid approach towards one another and his own large size in this form he couldn’t smoothly evade. No, he would have to get creative and attack in a way that the man likely wouldn’t expect.

Such was Shinjiro’s true strength, the ability to learn and grow stronger even in the midst of battle, utilizing masterful combat instincts and natural talent to push himself to greater heights with every opponent he fought. A moment before collision he would flap his wings, forcing him into a barrel roll and moving his center of mass just out of the path of his opponent, transforming in mid-motion, his body shrinking in size and creating slightly more space between them as a fully grown grizzly bear appeared in the Phoenix’s place, barrel rolling through the air with the type of grace and speed one would never expect to witness from a bear. Adjusting to the new form with incredible quickness, the young assassin wasted no time in demonstrating a technique he was attempting for the first time. Something he had learned over the course of this very battle from witnessing Hitachi. The bear would kick off the air itself with incredible speed and power as he adjusted his trajectory to aim to intercept Hitachi.

37 Strength
35 Speed

Aiming to collide with his side in a last second tackle Shinjiro hoped to catch the man off guard with the expertly timed attack, hopefully knocking him off his trajectory and then following up with two powerful sweeps of his arms, aiming to slash across Hitachi’s sides and batter his ribs with his large arms. The large bear would roar ferociously, baring its teeth before aiming to grab around the Jounin’s torso and suplex the man over his own body, redirecting him back towards the ground in a powerful throw. Shinjiro fully expected to take a few hits during this time though the thick body of the bear would help to absorb impact to some extent and his high pain tolerance would be enough to ensure he could fight through even broken bones or a bruised and battered body. Regardless if he was able to throw the man or if he was knocked away himself Shinjiro plummet towards the ground, giving one last kick off the air to direct him towards the lake before his vision blurred and he began to revert back to his human form. His eyes would close as he descended towards the water now, the green aura around him fading away.

His fatigue would catch up with him now in full force and so would the physical strain on his battered body. His consciousness slipped away as he fell though before he had hid the water a pair ofmen leaped out towards the lake, one of them forming seals as a vortex of water rose up and engulphed the boy, diminishing some of the speed he was moving at before the vortex shrank in size and settled back into the lake, Shinjiro floating on the surface as the one man picked him up and threw him over his shoulder. “Looks like he really overdid it this time” the one man commented, the marks of the hidden mist village were apparent apparent on their forehead protectors and similarly their clothing matched the style of the village. At last the pair of Special Jounin tasked with monitoring him had caught up, though it seemed they had caught at least the last minute or so of combat and had waited until now to reveal themselves. “We should thank you, he’ll be a lot easier to handle now. We’ll actually be able to get to Nekumi without further hassle” the other man spoke up, clearly recognizing Hitachi as a fellow mist ninja and therefore not feeling any need for concern or prior intervention. Shinji’s eyes fluttered open as he fought to regain consciousness, piecing together what was happening and realizing that the man who carried him wasn’t a hostile. “Put me down you idiot. I can walk” he grumbled, his voice slightly slurred and groggy.

The man would make it to the shore before Shinjiro gained enough alertness to look over his shoulder, giving the man a menacing glare. “I mean it. Put me down or I’ll kill you” he growled, to which the man went pale in the face and set him down. “Yeah, of course” he conceded abruptly, watching the young assassin as he got his feet under him. His breathing was heavy but it slowed within a minute and then he was able to walk without stumbling. “You’ve pushed me to my limit Hitachi. May we meet again sometime.” He stated simply, giving the man praise as well as bidding a farewell for now as he followed one of the shinobi towards the Fur Country festival while the other walked a few meters behind him.
