Arm Wrestling Competition

Post by WrightJustice » Fri Nov 01, 2019 8:18 am

As Touma made his way towards the strange child, taking note of the fellow Fukusha along the way, the one that seemed to be running the event called out shenanigans and disqualified the beastly winner, which sounded like nonsense to him but no matter for new competitors where quickly chosen increasing interest and variety.
Though one of the chosen was that strange healer who suddenly began to shift with tendrils of what appeared to be blood reaching out from the now clearly dead body, startling the Fukusha some and causing him to instinctively activate his Shōgō-zumi as he stared in great disbelief but any intel he could get from such a technique was too complicated and understandable for him to copy it seemed.

After a brief moment of just standing and taking in what had happened, not that he even truly understood it, Touma slowly turned away not sure if he should feel disgust or amazement, perhaps both, then forged his way to the corner with the strange child forgetting to deactivate his doujutsu for a moment as he looked directly at the disguised puppeteer only to realise and shut it down.

Upon approaching the odd figure it spoke out in a definite child-like manner but there was something very off about such a kid but he couldn't really put his finger on it, having zero experience with puppets and certainly zero experience with human puppets of any kind and as such he could not quite make out what his analytical eyes where seeing.
"Hello... Ummm... Young one" he replied in slight confusion to the child, unsure of what to say exactly.
"You seem, lets say, different" he commented, eyeing the kid up and down still trying to discern him.
"Well, what brings you to such a crazed strength based competition like this?" he then quickly questioned as if to skip over any rudeness he may have presented to the child, turning to glance at what was happening with the dog girl and... that thing that seemed to be taking over a new body like a gross parasite, that of the beastly kid no less.

As the man looked he glanced once more at the younger clan member and began to wonder if his mother and sister might be here, though he felt like if he did see them he would have to avoid them so as not to burden them with unnecessities that may get them in trouble and get them interrogated about him.

Yuuto couldn't believe how out of his comfort zone he had found himself in, he knew deep within that this event was just a show of force, for what would an arm wrestling competition truly prove? Other than you had better technique or strength over the person before you? He took a deep breath before realizing that he was the only one thinking in a negative loop, he had no reason to complain as he got to experience the outdoors once again, he didn't need to be under his fathers leash nor did he have to pretend to be a tough guy now that he wasn't surrounded by his fellow ninjas. Though he did feel safer with them around as he could never tell what the foreigners thought of him, he had only ever met a handfull, one which was a monk and the second one was some sort of inventor.

Both had come from Iwagakure, but due to the openness of this event, he could run into people he had never wished to encounter or people that he could consider close friends. Yuuto tried his best not to allow his background to cloud his judgement, but he had to admit that he had started to be influenced by his own village and the people who surrounded him, he had been fighting tooth and nail to not be overwhelmed by the creeping anger that resigned within him, for he had been a pushover for most of his life and had therefor been left behind, which was starting to get to him yet he hadn't shown anyone this side of him.

With a sigh, the pale boy continued to travel deeper into the crowd, doing his best not to bump into people. His focus wasn't on the match but rather on the surrounding crowd, he wasn't looking for anyone particularly as he had not figured that anyone from his own village were particularly looking to talk to him, something he had rather grown used to at this point. A heavy burden had been placed on him since the day he was born yet he didn't mind struggling through it as his cousin had explained to him once, that he was unique because he got to experience both sides of the fence, the brute extremes that Kirigakure provided and the soft nature that the ninjas of this world tried to push down.

What he knew was that if he continued to smile and try to bring joy to the world then one day it might stick, but he still carried his sword just in case he needed to protect himself and or save some innocent bystander, for one could never be too certain around ninjas, especially when everyone and their grandmother. A chuckle escaped his breath as pushed further in and shook his head, the surrounding energy was captivating yet somewhat overwhelming to the introvert. He pushed off his kimono and tied it around his waist, he was careful to hide the Jashin branded inside as he didn't want to capture unwanted attention (His father had warned him to never reveal it as it could cause untold problems which he was unfit to deal with) and revealed his pale skin, his chest and stomach were covered by a black tank top which helped him survive the weather, his muscular built was nothing to scoff at, though his soft face made him appear as a none threat.

His eyes continued to wander until they would stop at someone interesting or vice versa.

The archivist was a bit taken aback by the discontent attitude of the short Iwa ninja, and Souta's response didn't help much either, prompting her to deliver a small smack to his chest. "Hey, be nice dammit!" Kiyori looked back to the Iwa ninja while she still had a small bit of his attention. "Apologies Kotaru! And it's Kiyori, not 'Suna'! Maybe we can talk sometime later!" She tried to be cheery and happy, but really it seemed that little ninja just didn't want anything to do with Suna. "man... How am I supposed to lead people to peace if they won't even give me the time of day?" Kiyori started to get down on herself, but it was just then that Rokurou but in with his comment... and his incredibly rude reference towards her earned him a smack of his own, although much harder than Souta's smack. It too was aimed for his chest.

"Excuse me? I don't know what village you come from where you think it's okay to refer to a woman like that but it better not be Suna!" Kiyori puffed up at the shinobi that worked alongside Souta as she spoke. She wasn't usually one to get so angry, but she most certainly did not take kindly to being referred to in such a disgusting and misogynistic way. "I do hope you can show some decorum. You're here representing Sunagakure. I would appreciate it if that left a good impression on people." Washing her hands of that tense interaction, she caught wind through the crowd of the young jinchuuriki that had lost to Maido... challenging her to wrestle? Oh really now?

A sly grin crossed her face as she called out to both Masami and Kozaki. "Heh, yeah. I could use a warm up before my bout with the Mizukage. Let's do it, Masami! Won't this be a story to tell Aina later?" Kiyori's grin only grew as she spoke, because at least with Masami she knew that win or lose, it'd be a fun exchange between their villages. The crowd only continued to grow as more interesting faces came to light; an older man with purple eyes, a pale skinned man moving through the crowds... it seemed that the crowd grew with each passing moment. It was beginning to feel a bit daunting... So instead she chose to focus on this bout of strength between the red haired Iwa Shinobi, Tatsuo, and Shinjirou mixed with Maido.

Yuji had remained by Kotaru's side during this exchange. He raised an eyebrow at Kiyori's suggestion that peace between people could be achieved. Yuji snorted audibly upon hearing that remark. "Conflict is a part of life, you don't see a wolf spare a rabbit when it is hungry. Even a child could tell you that. Better still that old fossil could." The Fukusha pointed a single finger towards Souta. "I hope the rest of your village isn't as naive as you are." He was not impressed with his first encounter with a Sunagakure Shinobi so far.

He had heard equally bad things about Konohagakure from Kotaru, he wondered how their shinobi could have such philosophies given the line of work they were in. The only villages he had yet to learn about was Kumogakure and Kirigakure, one of which were their allies apparently. Yuji realised he should have paid more attention at the academy when they talked about the world. It was mostly Iwagakure propaganda, although he was beginning to see the argument for Iwagakure being the better village.

Letting out a large sigh he folded his arms and looked to Kotaru. "I can see what you mean about the other villages." The Fukusha walked away from the Sunagakure Shinobi no longer interested in them. His sights were set on the shinobi from Kirigakure now, he supposed getting to know their allies was something he should do. Yuji also wanted to learn more about what kind of jutsu Kirigakure shinobi use. He wondered if they could do mist stuff as their village's name would have him believe. A smile formed on his lips as he made his way over towards the Kirigakure Shinobi who was mediating the match. Kozaki seemed to be occupied with setting up a match so Yuji waited nearby instead.

Souta laughed as Kiyori hit him, resisting the temptation to ruffle her hair. Though he did abide by her wishes and quit antagonizing Kotaru and instead turned his attention to the arm wrestling match he was hoping he was about to witness. He was curious to see how it would go down, though still entirely weirded out after seeing Shinjiro taken over by this tentacle thing. Though as the boy didn't seem phased by it, Souta tried to emulate that.

But for Rokuro the hit was much harder. The boy grunted and stumbled back, falling to a knee as he tried to catch his breath and shook his head. Trying to speak only brought on a cough, and Souta laughed as he looked over at him. "Take the hint, Rok, and just shut up." he told him, laughing still as he turned to see Masami challenge Kiyori, and Kiyori accepting. He raised an eyebrow. "Masami huh? Konoha? Nice to meet you." he stepped closer, offering a hand to shake as he turned and saw another person moving up towards the group. It wasn't stature or anything of the sort that caught his attention of course, it was the sword he seemed to be carrying. An odachi no less, naturally it caught Souta's eye.

"Nice weapon." he said simply, keeping his voice raised slightly to be heard over the din as he addressed Yuuto.

From where he stood near the outer perimeter of the crowd Gene noticed immediately that while the competition might have been the string pulling spectators in there were some like himself who'd simply attended to scout out the others. This speculation had been further reinforced since there were a number of folks...not the ordinary sort, who seemed to be quite literally drifting from place to place near the competition sparking conversations about this or that - subjects that Gene hadn't been able to hear over the cacophony of voices wanting to be heard.

Shinobi of the five great nations are all here today. This could either turn out to be a real mess or something magical, Gene thought idly. A smile played across his lips as he considered something that Fanho had mentioned once before about world peace - it seemed more likely now than ever that such a thing was indeed possible. Though...Gene did not believe in his heart that he could ever truly trust another nation after learning about Konoha's long and brutal history with them.

It was a task, he thought, that would take an incredible amount of diligence. For now though, he continued to observe and remained open to the possibility of a conversation with someone from another land.

"It's nice to meet you as well. I'm from Konoha, indeed. I hope we can get along just as our two villages do." Masami replied to Souta, taking his offered hand and shaking it, simply offering the Iwa trio a small smile and a bow before walking off towards the table where the arm wrestling was to take place, knowing full well that speaking to them in their current moods would bring naught but disaster, though she did hope that she would get a chance to meet them again in a more pleasant mood.

On the way towards her destination she passed by Hyoryu and Touma, at which point she suddenly remembered that the table was already occupied by Shinji (Maido?) and Tatsuo, and so she chose to stop by the pair. "Hello. I'm Inuzuka Masami, nice to meet ya." she said with a wave and a smile, hoping to get some kind of pleasant conversation hopefully going.

Kozaki smirked, this crowd was ripe with suckers. All these people were going to arm wrestling, and Kozaki was taking money off the top of each bet to stuff his and Iwamaru's pockets. It was going extremely well. Masami had been goaded into another match, this time with Kiyori. Good, these both had made waves in the tournament, and Kiyori was up against the Mizukage next, what a joke that would be, so he'd get to hype her up some against the disgraced Masami. However, before he could interject more, a smart comment came from someone towards Kiyori. It matched the sentiment of Kozaki's rolling eyes when she had mentioned the possibility of peace between the two villages.

The guy was part of this entourage who had been eyeing Iwamaru closely, oh yeah Kozaki had noticed that, and they appeared to be Iwa ninja. With Yuji close by, Kozaki turned towards him, nodding his head upwards at the guy.

"Nevermind on the arm wrestling. These two are gonna go at it. I take it you're not the arm wrestling type huh?" Kozaki flexed, patting his own bicep. Yuji seemed a little more....fragile, so he doubted the guy would be interested in a show of strength. This wasn't Kozaki making fun of him, either, there were plenty of forms of strength in Kirigakure, who was Kozaki to question what this guy was capable of? He was mouthing off against the Suna shinobi, so he figured the guy had something to back it up.

Hmm. Yes. Someone from the rock. The same individual that had used Kotaru as an armrest. How amusing. Perhaps she too would enjoy performing such a feat. It mattered not. Her tendrils had made a nest inside of Shinjiro. But it didn't much matter. The man before them was incredibly strong. Good. Iwagakure shinobi were supposed to be her allies now, after all. It would have been disappointing for it to have been any other way, she mused. Physical feats were never her forte anyway.

Her voice emitted from Shinjiro's body. "Hmm. You have great strength. What is your name?" She gazed upon him with glee. There was something familiar about him, but she couldn't quite place it. The combined force of Shinjiro and herself struggled against him. If they were to win, much trickery would have to be involved and she wasn't for it much more. She had found who she was looking for. Perhaps it would be fun to spend some time with him again.

A tendril erupted from Shinjiro and darted through the crowd to retrieve her body. Expelling herself from the jinchuuriki of Vorashu, she returned to her rightful home inside of her own corpse. With both hands, she pulled with Shinjiro in an attempt to bring Tatsuo's hand down and onto the table, laughing quite joyfully as she did so. It was fruitless and she knew it. This was a competition of brute strength. She was out of her depths. She laughed for she knew how comical it must look, her, a small, frail flesh sack and a bear, unable to budge the arm of one man. She pat Tatsuo on the arm. "You're pretty good. Muramasa, Maido." Her hand extended.

Her eyes scanned the area. She found Hyoryu, unexpectedly. Where had Kota gone off to though?

Iwamaru at this point had simply slipped through the crowd, sitting on top of a large pile of sturdy, wooden crates as he looked down at the rest of the people. Though he was doing his utmost to honor the spirit of this event, he would not miss the opportunity to memorize people’s faces and names. He would pay close attention to the small snippets and glimpses he would get floating above the crowd. Iwamaru was not and would never be a headhunter, but if war came, these would be faces he would have to remember. It was easy enough to pick out the shinobi from the natives; their distance attire and imposing appearances would distinguish them from amongst the rabble. He most certainly didn’t miss the exchange between the two Sand ninja and Kota, a particular passing of dialogue that ended with a glowering Kota walking away. He caught a few words, and though the specifics were lost on Iwamaru, he could generally tell that she advocated for peace.

Peace... True peace... It seemed like a far-off dream. His village and its allies seemed so strongly geared toward war and violence at times. Was such a thing even possible? If there was one new face he’d be sure to memorize, it would be hers. Iwamaru suspected they might meet one day... he prayed as friends but expected as adversaries.

That revelation surprised him at first. Yet, as he thought further, he realized it shouldn’t have been. Iwamaru, above all else, wanted the peace he felt as a child, when life was simpler, when his family was whole. He knew that his mother’s death had ripped that peace from him, and he simply had never considered the possibility that a new peace could be built to take its place. But how would that peace be built? Upon an exchange of words or ideas? Would a new paradigm be established?

Or would it require blood, just the same as countless millennia before?

The answer, for now, eluded Iwamaru... and he would impatiently wait as the future unveiled it before him.

Tatsuo's eyes danced like wicked purple flames as the combined Kiri ninjas tried their best to overcome him. Their hands class, one bear and the other coated in a dark green cloak chakra. Shinji struggled to push his hand down, the appendage unmoving like the mountains that made up the Rock.

Shinji was now a bear all of a sudden. He blinked at the form of the grizzly bear, maybe he was hallucinating? No, he wasn't because the form shift had made the Kiri ninja even stronger. The boy was strong for his age, that was true, but now he could actually feel their combined strength pulling on him if only just a little.

The grin from before came back in full force along with slightly wild eyes. He had found worthy opponents and if they had not been up allied villages and an international safe zone who knew what the area would have turned into.

"You're strong! Not strong enough but I'll definitely acknowledge you." He laughed heartily as she expelled herself and tried to make it a two-on-one with both a bear paw and her slender hands trying to pull his down. "Let's end this so the others can get their turns in."

He reaffirmed his grip before exerting his full unbridled strength in a single moment. The duo's hands bounced against the table in his victory. He laughed once more before shaking her hand.

"Which of you is going to buy the drinks?"

"It wasn't this crowded or loud here a little while ago..." The young looking child had made a somewhat upset looking face as he answered the missing-nin's question about what brought him to such a place. Shrugging his shoulders the head of the body looked back across the room that was somehow still filling with people off the street now as things got more and more interesting. His free right hand pointed towards the Kiri shinobi, the talkative one that had started this whole thing off attempting to draw others in to arm wrestle the Iwa-nin now. "That loud kid over there just started yelling about his friend and the next thing I knew it was like this."

That was more or less how it had happened, at least from the prospective of a young child who just appeared to want to get away from the crowded streets for a bit only for this to spontaneously happen. Hyoryu had already been here before the others came and so it appeared he was just in the wrong place at the right time...of course he wouldn't answer so obviously and truthfully that he was listening to several conversations around the room looking for any intel that could be gathered. Tilting his head back up as the dark eyes lifted from the floor back onto the shinobi he asked inquisitively. "What brings you here, Sir?"

After all, the former Suna-nin had been here already before the large group swept in, but the man next to him had been more so on the latter of people who'd made their entrances to the arm wrestling affair. What kind of motive did this man have? Just as the words left his mouth the man he'd been working with a bit for the org slammed the two's conjoined hand down onto the table in victor causing for Ryu to turn his gaze to the noise and the banter that followed from Tatsuo. It was at that moment that Masami happened by the pair and spoke kindly to them both causing the boy to shift his attention upwards to the female, with an innocent smile on the child's lips he nodded his head and spoke out. "Hello ma'am." His voice tiny like his body but a tone of respect for the shinobi standing next to him and the other man now.

Yuuto had a tough time making out people out of the crowd, faces seemed to meld together, adults and adolescents alike, save for their village brands. If not for them then he would've never been able to guess their nationality, save for the ones that came from the same village as himself, as he had made sure to try to memorize the ones he had crossed paths with. He knew that he'd do best for himself knowing who he could talk peacefully with and who he should avoid at all cost, he knew deep within his heart that most Kirigakure members carried the bare minimum respect for him; if they even carried an ounce.

But before he could mentally map them all, an elder gentleman spoke to him, the large man had clearly seen some action in his life, the young adolescent could tell by the way his eyes carried a lot of darkness. What surprised him was that he took interest in someone as "lowly" as Yuuto, his pale face turned tomato red as he took a deep breath to gather himself. Ehm.... Wow... Uhh.... Right! Yuuto's eyes darted from his odachi back to Souta as a grin grew, he could feel his heart pounding and a relief showered the shy boy before the words flew out of his mouth. "Oh this thing? I call it Judgement! It's a gift that I got from my father... "

The mention of his father got him to pause for a brief second, a tint of anger flashed in his eyes before his gentle spirit took over and a smile grew on his face. "I bet your sword has an interesting story behind it as well... Does it have a name?" Yuuto nervously laughed as he tried to change the topic from his sword back to Souta. That and he had always tried to show decency and reflect questions back to the people asking to show that he genuinely liked to know about people.

But this day was special for a reason, see, his cousin was currently arm wrestling with a man he had never seen in his life and therefor took up his mental space as he took notice of him. He could tell that something wasn't right, that something had a hold of him and it was at that moment that something else took hold of him. It was the same feeling that took over his body when his father was in "trouble" and without a moments notice the boy was already moving towards the arm wrestling competition, his eyes had blackened and his hands were already on his sword. Now, what he didn't know was that all of this was a friendly situation but for whatever reason he had a hard time dealing with seeing the people he loved in trouble, and if no one stopped him them he was sure to cause problems which he could not ever hope to repair.

Yuuto wasn't a hot head, no, rather he suffered from a hero's complex...

Arm Wrestling Competition

Post by Izanagi » Fri Nov 01, 2019 8:37 pm

The young Jinchuuriki narrowed his eyes, determined to overcome this man with the powerful presence. And yet even after transforming into his grizzly bear form, his third strongest transformation and the only one suitable for this type of contest he could still only barely move his opponent’s arm. Surely Tatsuo would have to utilize considerable effort, near his full strength to hold off Shinjiro seemingly easily. “You’re something else” he growled, straining with his full strength, in this form it was more difficult to utilize proper arm wrestling technique and so he couldn’t attempt to manipulate the wrist to his advantage, though against such a composed and iron willed opponent he doubted that would make a difference. The red-haired man’s technique was flawless. Shinji had expected Maido to give him a proper assist with the use of her blood kinesis or use some other means to sway the advantage to their favor and even Shinjiro had several tricks he could employ though none of them were inconspicuous enough and he didn’t want to reveal too much of his abilities. He was fairly sure this man was an Iwa shinobi but he still wanted to err on the side of caution and certainly he didn’t want shinobi from other nations learning of some of his more unique features.

Shinjiro roared ferociously, venting his agony as Maido ejected herself without warning. The pain was excruciating even more so than when she had entered him. ‘Finish him already, my power can not be denied!’ Vorashu demanded, he was borrowing the form of a great bear, an alpha predator of immense strength. How could he lose to a mere human? It was disgraceful. Shinji’s deep red eyes faded and returned to his vibrant green as the last of Maido’s presence left him. He would persist at his full strength for a few moments longer despite the pain, proving that it was his strength alone that was of any significance. Maido quickly returned to the table in her usual body, pressing down with her meager physical strength in an effort to assist him. It was embarrassing and Shinji felt a flash of anger and humiliation. At last he was defeated, and he exhaled slowly, transforming back into a human clad in his usual attire as the green chakra cloak faded and his hair shortened to its normal length. “The hell was that Maido? You barely helped at all, what was the point of jumping into my body if that’s all you were going to do? Do you have any idea how painful that is?!” he snapped, his eyes wild and fierce. Suddenly his training would take over and with another deep breath he would embrace the persisting pain that wracked through his entire body. Much more calmly he would address Tatsuo, “We’ll split it, I guess. You’re one hell of a shinobi” he stated, he wasn’t angry at him, in fact he held immense respect for his power. This guy was obviously a Bannin, he had to be and considering that Shinji was only 15 and a Special Jounin he could be proud of at least being recognized by someone of that calibre.

Walking away from the table he would put his right glove back on and walk over to the pair of Suna nin and Masami. “Looks like it’s your turn, good luck” he stated sincerely, addressing Souta. He had shared a few drinks with the swordsman of Suna immediately before gathering around for this arm-wrestling thing. While Shinji didn’t expect anyone in the crowd to be able to overcome Tatsuo if he hadn’t been able to, Souta was the one he was most curious about and would place the best odds on of coming close. He noticed that Masami had actually walked off a few moments ago and now that would just leave him standing there with Kiyori. “You’re the one who’s going to fight the Mizukage later right? I saw your last match, if that’s the best you can do then you should forfeit. Or don’t. I think I’d enjoy seeing what the Mizukage will do to you” he taunted with a menacing edge to his tone. He quite enjoyed getting under the skin of people and unnerving them with thinly veiled threats. Most likely though he was simply in a bad mood. His victory in the taijutsu division had felt shallow and then his inner turmoil had been stirred up in the conversation with Souta and now his entire body felt like it had been pulled apart and he had lost publicly in a contest of strength cheapening his tournament victory further. His breath still smelled of vodka and there were traces of blood on his left glove, though such things were the least of his concerns. He hadn't even realized that he had walked right by his cousin and arguably his best friend, not expecting Yuuto to show up in a place like this.

Souta nodded to Masami, but before he could respond the boy with the odachi spoke up and he found his attention pulled away. "A blade with a name, that's good." he remarked, though he couldn't help a chuckle as Yuuto asked if his blade had a name. The man shook his head. "No, I'm afraid mine doesn't... though I expect it may need one some day. It certainly has seen enough use..." he smirked down at Yuuto, noticing for the first time the Karagata family symbol on the back of the kid's robe. Remembering Shinjiro's own remarks before about the family, he suddenly came up with an idea. "Tell you what, I lose, you name it for me, how about that?" he suddenly asked, even as he noticed a sudden shift in Yuuto's demeanor. It took him a second to realize what was going through the kid's head, but as his hand fell to his odachi, Souta suddenly stepped forward and put his hand flat against Yuuto's chest.

"Let me guess, Shinjiro is family, hm?" he asked, keeping his voice low with the intent of only Yuuto hearing him. "Easy, the merge was voluntary from what I saw, just watch..." He kept his hand there to keep the kid in place as he waited and watched the wrestling match to the end, smirking a bit as the strange tentacle mass left Shinji's body. "See? All is well." he said, looking down at Yuuto once more. "Observe before the urge to rush in... it'll save your life one day, and the lives of those close to you." He didn't say it, but if Yuuto was observant enough he might have noticed something in Souta's glance that gave away that the man had learned the same lesson in the hardest way possible.

But a moment later the look was gone and Souta was grinning as he turned away and Shinjiro passed by him with his statement. Souta laughed, reaching out a hand and clapping Shinji in the chest briefly, just hard enough he thought it might give the boy a bit of a sting. "Don't worry, I don't need luck." he assured, adding a pat on the back before he continued moving forward to the table. He made his way and took his seat. "So drinks is your bet huh? Loser buys? Works for me." he told Tatsuo. The older gentleman hadn't had this much fun in a while and as he put up his hand for the challenge he was curious to see just how it might pan out.

Kiyori frumped visibly at the young purple eyed boy in tow with the Iwa troupe, his words annoying her to no end. While she wasn't speaking directly to them, if they were attentive, they would no doubt hear her speak to Souta in response to their words. "Conflict doesn't have to be resolved with violence and war... Words can be just as effective as a blade. It just takes a little more finesse, and a lot more self control. Isn't that right, Souta?" She was then annoyed at the fact that Souta had already begun to walk towards the table, after having witnessed the end of the bout between red haired Tatsuo and the combination of the Kiri shinobi. Truth be told she was shocked that this man's power overcame two enemies at once... This Tatsuo was something special. As Shinjirou walked away from the table, stopping by Kiyori and Souta to make his comment to them, Kiyori once again frumped at the Kiri ninja.

"By the light, is this how all of Kiri is? With all due respect, your competitive nature is a bit too developed Shinjiro. I aim to have a good bout with the Mizukage, and maybe later i'll use it as a segway to start a dialogue with him. You may despise my village Kiri shinobi, but I don't see why we can't work things out... fighting isn't the only answer. Learn to use your words, you might discover you prefer it." Kiyori crossed her arms in response to Shinjiro's words, firm in her stance that violence wasn't the only answer here. Competition was fine and dandy but there was such a thing as too much, and so far it seemed to her Kiri took things way too far. Seriously, it was just a friendly bout in her eyes... but what was it to the Mizukage? a means of proving superiority perhaps? Is that all Kiri saw, who was the best?

She hated that mindset... everyone had value.

Turning to Yuuto, she felt the need to ask another Kiri shinobi about this competitive streak that she had noticed in Kiri shinobi since arriving in Star Country. "How about you? You seem nice enough to at least talk to without feeling like i'll get some backhanded remarks or taunts. Is that really how Kiri thinks?" All of this competition was beginning to leave a bad taste in her mouth truth be told... but she had agreed to arm wrestle Masami at least, knowing that neither of them would be upset about loss or victory. She could also respect Souta's desire to compete, admittedly a bit happy to see him actually participating in something. The man was such a grump sometimes, she always enjoyed seeing him live a little. "Heh, let's see you put your claims from earlier to the test Souta. Give it your all."

Yuuto had indeed not known that Shinjiro had willingly merged with Maido, nor did he know that he wasn't in danger, in fact had it not been for their friendly conversation and for Souta stopping him in his track. He listened to the elder gentleman and took notice of what appeared to be the same glance he had spotted on himself whenever he was alone venting his frustrations, his eyes almost watered as he couldn't believe that someone else could understand him, with a deep breath he continued to listen and turned his face away from Shinjiro who was incoming. He nodded at Souta and took another deep breath in order to compose himself.

Yuuto had managed to think about the weapons name for him as a way of thanking him for stopping him from making a fool out of himself and embarrassing his village. "Hmm... Well seeing as you seem to have great experience in not only your body movement but also in your ability to read people, I think Keiken [Experience] suits as a name for a sword that has experienced a lot of hardship... And it has experienced a life time without a name." Yuuto giggled as he tried to lighten the mood after nearly causing trouble he couldn't hope to manage.

But before he could continue the conversation and reply to Souta whether they were family members or not, another ninja jumped in on the conversation, this one was a woman who seemed to carry a rather stern expression. Yuuto could see the knot over her head as she seemed rather puzzled over his fellow Kirigakure members behavior, what he didn't expect though was that she would ask him a question that was clearly above his pay grade. He was paused for a second and wondered what the correct answer would be, he could hear swarms of answers crawl into his mind, from his fathers words, Mondai's, Chiane, and lastly Shinjiro, who had complemented him for being himself.

With a deep breath, his eyes crossed Kiyori's, her eyes were strange but it didn't stop him from being the kind and gentle soul that he was. "We come from a harsh world, hidden somewhere where you can barely see five meters in front of you any given time, people have grown fond of the hard ways and have forgotten that it's together that we light up the way through the thick mist. Not all are warmongers but the strongest are revered for being forceful. Though I can't say I blame them... They have been the ones to keep most of us alive... Though... I believe..." Yuuto looked over at Shinjiro and smiled and even raised his head. "I believe that the peace bringers will be raised by the side of their stronger brethren to deal with the issues force can't break. It's easier to destroy a bridge then it is to build it, but... That's not to say that destroying it is not a better options... Do you understand?" Yuuto tried to be vague for he didn't want to make his village look weak, especially not in front of his cousin.

Now, truth is, all he wanted to do was hug Shinjiro and tell him that he was proud that he dared to face such a man that could take him on while he was in his form, that even though he lost he should be proud that he was 15 and still in the center of attention from not only his own village but all the others as well. "Hey! How are you!?" Yuuto rushed up to Shinjiro and spread his arms but stopped right before him and chuckled, his eyes were shining brightly and his hidden persona started to appear. "Wow! I can't believe you survived having someone merge with you? I mean... Here I thought I knew pain but you... You are something else!! Who was it that you even faced? And what was that bear form? I mean wow! I have so many questions! But man was it cool! You are awesome!" Due to not being able to hug him without feeling like he would shame him, Yuuto struggled to raise his arm for a high five as he tried to do his best to cheer his angered cousin.

In many situations Shinjiro would have reacted aggressively from someone hitting him in the chest, though fortunately, he was familiar enough with Souta from even their brief talk that he recognized it not as an attack but a somewhat friendly gesture. He simply furrowed his brow as Souta declared that he didn’t need luck. Truthfully, as much as he wanted to see the extent of the older man’s power he would be deeply angered if the man managed to overcome someone he couldn’t. Beyond that though he would simply mark him as another individual that he had to strive to surpass. The additional pat on the back was met with a similar indifference, at least that’s what Shinji assumed he would feel though for some reason he smirked slightly, hoping the man would put on a good show for the sake of Souta’s own pride as a warrior.

Without looking back, he went on to address Kiyori. The teenager narrowed his eyes, confused at what his competitive nature had to do with anything, he had only talked about her match with the Mizukage. “Do you not strive to surpass others? Do you not push yourself to grow stronger for the sake of your village?” he asked, genuinely perplexed as to how a shinobi could not have a competitive, growth mindset. He seemed further surprised when she accused him of despising her village. “I hold no hate for your village, only contempt for naivety. How can you hope to find a common ground with Kiri or Iwa for that matter if you don’t understand what drives us?” He shot a dangerous glare at her as her statement about learning to use his words sank in, “Learn to use my words…Can’t you see that’s what I’ve been doing. How about you learn how to gain our respect and then maybe we’ll be more inclined to listen” he stated, engaging in perhaps the most thoughtful and honest conversation he had ever had with a foreigner. She didn’t understand anything about Kirigakure, how they were raised, the conditions they lived in and made no effort to see from their perspective and yet she dared to talk down to him as if they were the unreasonable ones.

Her insulting behaviour, passive aggressively making digs at him while speaking to another was not a good move either, though as he turned his head and realized who she was speaking to Shinji’s features softened, “Yuuto” he spoke softly, smiling slightly as he felt some of his tension dissipate. Just seeing his friend, one of the only people he could really trust and felt took the time to understand him, was enough to bring him peace of mind. Taking a few steps forward he would place his bloodied left hand on the shorter boy’s shoulder, before ruffling his hair affectionately. “It’s good to see you” he said, forgetting the tension with Kiyori for a few moments. There was much more to Shinji than most saw, each person he interacted with had their own opinion of him and it was sure to vary wildly between individuals. He nodded in agreement to his cousin’s words, his eyes almost watering with emotion swelling within. His day had been dreadful so far but now none of that seemed to matter. Pain still surged through every muscle and ligament of his body, enough that lesser men wouldn’t even be able to stand let alone act like they were completely fine. Around Yuuto at least he didn’t have to act so strong. “Better now” he replied, rather pathetically, pulling him into a hug, the first hug he had ever initiated and even in front of this large crowd he didn’t care. He smiled widely and chuckled lightly as Yuuto managed to see through him and realize the agony he was in, “I’ve been through worse but yeah, it sucks. Hope she stays the hell away from you that’s for sure” he admitted, worried about Yuuto. He had endured enough in his life he didn’t need to get involved with Maido. Releasing the white-haired boy Shinji would suddenly gave him his full attention, “Some Bannin from Iwa I think. I’ll beat him next time” he assured with a grin, “And if you think the bear form is cool you should see me turn into an octopus sometime or maybe the giant sea turtle I used in my second match” he stated, recalling the largest transformation he had used against Shio. Shifting his position, Shinji suddenly began to feel a little awkward, hardening his features as he remembered Kiyori was still standing right there. For all she thought she knew she didn’t understand anything about him or Kiri for that matter.

While they waited for Souta and Tatsuo to get started with their bout of strength, the Kiri shinobi she had expected to leave had instead turned to keep speaking to her. Kiyori's initial reaction was to get angry at his presumptions, but as a diplomat she had to take a step back and think... and she realized that in a few ways, he was actually right. "You know what, Shinjiro? You're right. My words were oozing with presumptions and second hand accounts of your people. I allowed that to cloud my opinion... And that was wrong of me. I humbly ask for your forgiveness, Kiri shinobi... And your help." Kiyori bowed in respect to Shinjiro, placing her hands together and lowering her head to the young shinobi.

As she rose, her black and red eyes fell on both Yuuto and Shinjiro, and the hug between them warmed her heart and brought a smile to her face... So they weren't without compassion. As she spoke, she spoke to both of them as a duo. "I am ignorant of the truth, Kiri shinobi. I want to understand you and your people. Your people have their harsh realities, as do mine. The desert is not kind to us Yuuto, the raging sandstorms and blistering heat have made our people hardy and strong. And it was our first Kazekage that realized coming together was the only means of survival, just as you said your people come together to overcome the mist. But to answer your question, Shinjiro? No. I don't strive to surpass others. I don't push myself to grow strong for the sake of Sunagakure."

She paused for a moment to let that sink in before continuing, a smile on her face as she looked to the sun. Her tattoos, as always, radiated an ever so dim golden light. "I grow strong for a world in which my strength is no longer needed. I abhor violence. I strive for a world where conflict can be resolved without it. Where we can all come together in spite of our difference and make our world a better place. Without the need to become individually superior, because we all take pride in our collective value. But the first step is understanding, so please help me shed my ignorance you two... and hey, if any of you Iwa shinobi want to come help this Suna ninja get a little smarter, i'd love that!"

The open invitation to conversation was extended to all who wished to participate. Shinjiro had made a good move by exposing her ignorance, and now she had to do the right thing and make the first move to cure that. "For what it's worth Shinjiro, your skills were incredible. Vorashu's power is... impressive, to say the least."

Iwamaru had taken the time to memorize the faces of all of the shinobi he didn't already know up to this point. He couldn't necessarily filter them all out based on village, as he'd opted to not converse with the vast majority of them, but he would remember their faces. For now, that was enough. Hopefully, it would stay that way.

Knowing the world they lived in, it probably wouldn't.

The young chuunin's eyes shifted back to the woman with the tattoos, the one from the Sand. He started paying closer attention to her words and actions. He couldn't explain why, but he was drawn to her. Perhaps it was because unlike the rest of the shinobi that walked these streets, who almost all bore the same cynical, scrutinizing glint in their eyes of those around them (except that almost lifeless looking kid; he still unsettled Iwamaru somehow), her eyes were devoid of that quality. Certainly, based on her reaction to conversation with the Kiri shinobi who had bested him, she certainly seemed to have her own prejudices, but unlike others, who hardheartedly stuck to their preferences and views, she took the time to evaluate her own position and, by what he could tell from this distance, admit failing. A shinobi who prioritized diplomatic strength over combat strength. It was utterly fascinating to Iwamaru. There was nothing quite like it in Iwagakure.

He was in the presence of many of his comrades, and the Sand and Stone were not friendly. But something about this woman's countenance and behavior resonated deeply within Iwamaru. He found it more difficult to ignore that feeling. He would not let himself concede to naivety, but perhaps unlike the rest of his compatriots, whose hearts had been hardened by nationalistic pride, prejudice, the brutalities of war, or all three, he would not simply view his enemy as a vile filth to be expunged or genocided from before them. Every person he would come across in the field, every enemy shinobi he killed, had a name, a story, aspirations, hopes, dreams, and principles. They were almost all flesh and blood, much like him, with the rarest of exceptions. He'd wondered why it had been so difficult to find others like him in his village.

Now, he was starting to understand why.

Eventually, the fires of curiosity burned too hot to resist, and standing up, he quietly descended the array of wooden crates he'd sat perched upon for the last short while. Slipping calmly through the crowd, he would wait his turn. Allowing for Shinji and Kiyori to finish their conversation, he simply introduced himself, giving a respectful nod to the elder Souta, who seemed to be part companion, part bodyguard for the woman in question. "You asked for insight into the hearts of children of the Stone, lady of the Sand," Iwamaru prompted. "If insight is what you seek, ask. Though I am still young, I will answer as plainly and with as little prejudice as possible."

It was a simple game. Humans. They were so easily worked up. Maido found it rather funny. She found it rather sad. She wondered if they dreamed of dying. Those were the best she ever had. She locked eyes with Shinjiro momentarily. "Oh, Lighten up, King of Beasts. Can't show them all of our tricks just yet. Wait until we get to Iwagakure." She chuckled. "Hmm. I'll get the drinks. Say...would you happen to know an Akari, Kotaru? I could have sworn I'd seen him..." Her face displayed an odd mixture if glee and disappointment. She poised the question to Tatsuo, though her eyes continued to scan the area in search of Kotaru regardless. She longed for the company of some malevolent creature such as herself.

Hmm. Was he really like her? Perhaps. Perhaps not. How could she find out? She looked forward to her trip to the Rock. It couldn't come soon enough. To the side, she observed Iwamaru, the boy she had healed. She made her way forwards to to him as well as those he conversed with. She came up to the group of them and placed her hand upon Iwamaru's shoulder. "How is your hand?" She asked as she shot a gentle smile towards Kiyori. Unlike many in the area, she had no problems with those from the other villages. None at all. She had lived for far too long to be bothered by such petty nonsense.

Perhaps then, it would be that she could act as a peacekeeper. How odd of a thought, she immediately responded in her own mind. Her, of all people. A peacekeeper. How ridiculous...Still, the thought gnawed at her. She knew that she didn't want to remain in the Mist forever. Maybe she should set out on her own and start something new in the world. But that would require many allies...

Touma noted what the strange kid was saying, glancing the guy he pointed to with an intrigued look before turning back as he wondered about the boy's situation and seemingly just wanting peace.
"I see..." he simply commented in reply as he took in what was said
"Why am I here?" the man then rebutted with a rhetorical question as the boy then asked about him "Well I suppose I wasn't certain on if I should actually come but eventually gave in as I figured it was a good opportunity to meet various interesting figures, though I am quite late and missed a lot of the tournament fights it seems." he expressed a little disappointment, feeling his stubbornness got in his own way of seeing actual skills in action.
"That being said I wandered into this crowd and simply heard the commotion and as luck would have it there is indeed quite a few interesting people here and they are showing some interesting skill, which I have to admit I do not understand too greatly" he went on to explain, glancing around at the other folks some more.

Touma took in each of the rather powerful beings some more as he noted everyone talking amongst themselves at this point, forming odd groups with Kiri folks pressuring Suna folks and vise versa and other such combinations, though his eyes focused on the freaky spaghetti-like being calling itself Maido as it moved back into the dead body it flung away previous for a bit of fun with the beastly Kiri boy.

The Fukusha through a very strange and puzzled look at the blood monster, truly lost to such capabilities and not understanding anything about elemental bodies one bit, less so with her's in particular but as he looked he noticed one other intriguing person approach; the dog woman who offered an introduction calling herself Masami.
"Speaking of..." Touma spoke, trailing off as the odd Inuzuka approached and spoke to the two.
"Yes, hello young miss" he replied in kindness, giving a little bowing nod "I am Fukusha Touma, it is nice to meet you... Though... Dare I say I am very intrigued by your look" he added, speaking curiously about her ears, tails and even the odd seemingly floating rings around her wrists as he performed a simple hand gesture that was pretty much an open palmed point.

"Oh, well thank you. It really is a pleasure to meet the both of you." Masami replied to Touma and Hyoryu with a small smile, feeling very appreciative of the compliment that Touma had thrown her away. In the past she may have gotten upset at such a thing but she had grown a lot since then and these days she could take a compliment as it was and be happy with it. More than that though she was appreciative that her unspoken request for polite conversation had actually been granted. Frankly she hadn't had a great deal of hope that it may happen given the earlier interaction between the Suna and Iwa nin but she was more than pleased to find that she had been wrong.

"So what brings you two here? For myself I got kind of hyped up and let myself be dragged into this competition so I just thought I would drop by and say hello while I wait for my time to come." she said, glancing over her shoulder at the table. Frankly she was growing a bit restless, as she really wasn't one that could handle a crowd of this size all that well, but just having this conversation was helping to ease her nerves. Polite, friendly conversation really was just the best.

The young looking boy couldn't help but glance up and to his left at the missing-nin who had identified himself now as Fukusha Touma. He was somewhat familiar with the clan name but not the actual man's name causing for him to feel that the shinobi wasn't a major player in Iwa or the clan at the moment. Yet, he couldn't help but let a smile form on the rather sad looking face of the puppet body. If he had been in an older body it would have been more akin to a smirk than a simple smile like it appeared on the Ghost body now, the young man beside him had a nice flow of words as a immediately shot out a cute compliment towards the Inzuka from Kooha, the identifying features pointed out to whom she belonged without a formal introduction. 'This guy, hehe.'

Seeing that the Iwa-nin had taken the lead in speaking to Masami, Ryu would wait for him to respond first to the Leaf shinobi that had been added to their outer group rounding the total up to three now. Even as he listed to the conversation between their group his ears were also listening to other conversations going on at the new arm wrestling area, using the unique processing power of his mind to comprehend a few different conversations that were happening simultaneously at the moment. Things were getting a bit interesting here in a place that he hadn't expected for them to. "I was just setting here and then the kid started yelling about arm wrestling."

The puppet body allowed for his shoulder to raise up a bit as he finished in a shrug, as though he really wasn't sure what was going on here still and seemed a bit lost from his outer appearance at the moment. Though this was all unexpected it allowed for him to put face to name for a handful of people that only assisted in the intel gather portion of the Syndicate member's job here in Star. He quietly wondered just where things would go from here. 'So lively...'

These streams can be just him thinking through an idea, using one hand to defend and another to attack with different techniques, or visualizing something to even recalling a memory. While shinobi is capable of this incredible feat, once he's past three different streams of thought, he often has to pause and make sure he's not mixing up the streams. For this reason, he generally doesn't go beyond three when in combat or highly stressful situations.

Wh - What the hell?! If his eyes had not just witnessed it he would have never believed in such foul abominations such as whatever horrifying extremities had just seemed to sprout from one of the Shinobi that he'd been observing. But that...was just a small drop in the bucket compared to the gravity of it all; someone out there, from another nation, had found and all but mastered an art which allowed one to completely control another's body and judging by the looks of the one being manipulated...there was a cost. Still, their teamwork was admirable and Gene acknowledged that the man at the table was incredibly strong.

Each one of them had done their best to keep their skills a secret but for those so trained in the ways of their mentors who no doubt had been trained by others who were of Shinobi lineage, even this menial task was a challenge. Lord Hokage...how would you combat these bizarre abilities? As a Shinobi who did not believe in chance he strove well beyond the boundaries of fear to find solutions to problems before they became problems which was one of the reasons why he'd been trusted as a strategist. Tatsuo would cause problems should there ever be a need to conduct ground operations for recon. Fortunately, there were many hours in a day and being creative was what Uoza got paid to do.

He'd been comfortable enough to allow complete strangers to get near him after all. At that rate, it would only be a matter of time before someone took him out. At this grim yet strangely humoring thought, Uoza could only smile gently beneath the blue mask obscuring his features. In a straight up battle however...the commander had to admit that the man's Armour appeared sturdy - probably more so than regular Armour. Breaking through it to score a fatal blow wouldn't be easy and yet Uoza pondered over the thought of being able to figure out a way to do so if it had somehow became necessary. In the world in which they lived... it was unfortunate but there would never be such a thing as true peace.

A feeling known all to well began to swim deep within the pools of Uoza's chest; memories he knew, that would ignite the flames of passion for those whom would never again see the light of day due to the reckless abandon of one Kiri Missing ninja. How many had perished that day because one village could not properly handle one Shinobi? A precursory glance around the room.

Although it may not have been the intention of Sunagakure to have such a valuable jewel like the Kazekage dangling about in the open like some tasty slab of meat one could trust and believe that those among the darker social circles who'd managed to finagle and finesse their way into matters of a delicate nature had heard and passed around the news, that Kiyori was the one calling the shots now. Of course...Uoza had never seen nor heard the woman speak before and could not have properly identified her outright but in listening to the level of diplomacy behind her words, he imagined that she had to have at least been of high standings in the village.

Not the sort I'd want to trade hands with if I can help it, thought Uoza as he skillfully maneuvered his way around the room and closer to where Maido and the others had been. He stood close enough to engage if necessary but far enough away so as to not appear immediately obvious and give away whatever hidden agenda he might have been working on. He'd long since spotted Masami but for the sake of what was necessary now, he sought not to approach her. In a situation like this one where so many variables were at play it was best that no one knew from the other side that there were more than just a few cards at play. When he was sure that no one was watching and that he could not expose his actions, Uoza slipped his headband down into his kunai holster where it would remain hidden behind a long dagger and away from the ever prying eyes of his potential future adversaries.

While there would be no hiding the assortment of blades kept on his person to include the massive Oath Breaker, Uoza did not believe that he would need any of them. At least, not yet. If he had to guess, he would have been willing to bet that there were a majority among this current group who could perform their jutsu without needing to weave a single sign. Rather than pose the question of who among those back home could handle this kind of scenario, the Auburn - eyed warrior of the Leaf posed the question to himself. I've just obtained a secret missive that must be delivered immediately. My enemy knows of the document and will go to any length to steal it; in the interest of the mission could I feasibly survive an encounter with a small platoon of Shinobi who's abilities I cannot confirm? The question lingered for an unknown amount of time before Uoza had finally arrived at a decision:

No pressure.

What most would have surely missed due to the many distractions of the crowded place among other things, was the extremely quick but subtle shift in Uoza's body as though for a moment he'd been but an apparition passing through space. Even a skilled observer might have disregarded the happening as a matter of their own hunger, dehydration or perhaps even a need to sleep but only the truly observant and keen of instinct would have witnessed the disturbance for what it was. As if to be akin to a God one man moved so seamlessly through a completely crowded space without creating so much as a single disturbance or uttering a single word. In the mans place and in seemingly exactly the same moment, a duplicate flourished giving life to the same principles and motivations as the ghost before who was by now...gone with the wind. Somewhere close enough to observe yet far enough in order to be just out of reach...

Lost to the sea of faces decorating the room like Christmas ornaments an inquisitive Day dreamer sought to explore the best of this newly developed scenario. Several Shinobi of which he was not familiar with and their unique set of skills; how could he get them to reveal more of their talents and from that point, how could he neutralize those capabilities? Konoha's might would be trumped by no Shinobi and the village name would be forever spoken of with respect and reverence.

*[Ninjutsu • Advanced Shadow Clone Technique]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to 1/3rd the user's stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies of the user in both appearance and substance. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of the user, they share the same stats except for stamina, which is determined by the number of clones presently in effect. The advantage of this form of the technique is that once dispersed, the chakra distributed to the clones returns to the user, allowing any un-used chakra to be regained, slowing the draining usage of this technique. The chakra returns to the user at a different rate depending on the user's control.

Tatsuo and Souta clasped hands and it was obvious from the get-go. Neither of them could get the other's hand to move no matter how hard they strained. The grin and look that overtook his eyes resembled a wild man. There were very few people who were strong enough to challenge him. It looked as if he had found one of those very few.

"He's my brother, of course I know him." Tatsuo first answered her question before posing his own to his opponent. "I look forward to one day fighting you but taking it too far right now wouldn't be that smart. Call it a draw and have them pay for us both?" He proposed to the older Sand shinobi. He never expected his night to develop into this but maybe it'd be a smart idea to widen his horizons.

Assuming Souta agreed to the deal, Tatsuo would roll his sleeve down before walking over to the growing congregation of shinobi. His eyes were immediately drawn to the dog girl's ears and the Fukusha that he didn't recognize from around the village. More so to the ears.

"Can... Can I touch 'em?" He asked with the look of barely restrained excitement plastered across his face.

Souta was used to shocking shinobi younger than him. They always thought as he inched closer to forty that he had to be weakening, yet Souta had only grown stronger. But he wasn't used to younger men being able to impress him. As the pair strained and worked to try and move the other's hand, and neither budged, Souta saw the grin that took over his opponent and he couldn't help one of his own as he let out a bark of a laugh. "You got it." he answered simply as Tatsuo proposed a draw and Souta released his hand. The man stood and straightened, turning to see Tatsuo go straight for Masami and her ears almost happily and he couldn't help another chuckle. It was the first time Souta really saw the truth, how unusual Suna was for despising oddities. In his village he had been dubbed 'Norowareta' for the transformation forced on him. It meant 'The cursed one'. And he couldn't help but wonder, how would he have been seen in another village in the same circumstance?

Old enough to know time couldn't be changed he mentally brushed off the thought and walked over to the group as well, reaching out and touching the tip of one of Masmi's ears. "Now that one I beat you to." he joked before turning to find the kid he had seen before. Once he found Yuuto he looked at him. "I didn't lose but I didn't win either." he remarked. "Keiken it is then." he added, tapping his sword briefly.

Maido's attention dawdled away from Iwamaru, Shinjiro, and Kiyori for a moment as she spotted Kotaru very close by. To the group of them, bickering as they were, she spoke. Her hand found Shinjiro's back. "Well, there's no need for a fuss love, let's just enjoy the festivities, shall we?" Maido spoke to the group of them, quite softly. Her hand found itself now removed from Shinjiro's back as she gave a grin to Kiyori. She extended a hand to Kiyori in turn, making a polite gesture accompanied with eye contact. "A pleasure to meet you, Shinobi of the sand. Muramasa, Maido. Excuse me." A quick introduction before she moved past the lot of them, towards Kotaru. Finally. After what seemed like a rather rambunctious crowd just waiting to be sparked into flames, Maido had found some sort of direction.

She approached. What should she say? What would he say? She was never very good at talking about her more complex emotions. Even still, though she may know a few of the other individuals present, she didn't exactly want to interact with them all that much. Too much noise. Crowds bothered her not, to a degree. Maido had things that she was trying to plan out though. Wheels needed to turn. Things were beginning to get set in motion. A chain of events was taking events that would culminate into her desires.

And unfortunately for Kotaru, she was determined to make him a part of it, one way or another. She made eye contact with him. How long had it been? Had she a heart, it would have fluttered. Or would it? Was this love? She didn't know. There was definitely some sort of connection, but as for what exactly it was was yet to be determined. "It's good to see you again, young one."

As she awaited a response from the two in front of her, Masami's ears suddenly pricked up, twitching as she heard sudden footsteps from behind her, turning just in time to see Tatsuo approaching her, his and Souta's match seeming to have just come to an end with not much more than a draw as it seemed neither could do much to the other.

"Oh um, sure. I don't mind at all. It's been a while since I've gotten this kind of request." she said in response to his request to touch her ears, a red tinge crossing her cheeks at how excited he seemed to be about the prospect. It really had been some time since she had gotten a request to touch them and she had nearly forgotten that a dog girl such as herself was a foreign thing to most people, her friends and family simply having grown used to her ears and tail enough to just start scratching what seemed to be on instinct.

That said, she couldn't help but jump an inch or so off the ground in surprise as Souta suddenly touched the tip of one of her ears, the ear in question confusedly twitching. Now that had certainly been unexpected... Or maybe not? Well, she herself hadn't been expecting it at least.

The tattooed woman was, in Kotaru's eyes, ridiculous. She was much too cheery and familiar, and even after he delivered his warning she seemed rather unfazed. She irritated him, this Suna woman named Kiyori, and it made it quite plain with the scowl he directed toward her. Her aging bodyguard, or whoever he was, quickly became preoccupied with Tatsuo so the young bannin directed his attention elsewhere, looking at the people in the crowd. Kotaru fully expected to make mincemeat of the man, and at first the wrestling match didn't interest him. Yuji had wandered off after the confrontation and had escaped the Akari's notice, but once he realized his student was gone he scanned the crowd quickly, a seed of concern growing in his belly.

He found the Fukusha rather quickly, talking to the skeezy looking kid who had caught the crowd's attention in the first place. Other than the boy's morally ambiguous grin there was nothing particularly dangerous about him. Yuji could handle himself, Kotaru concluded, just in time to see the Kiyori woman addressing the young Kiri shinobi who Tatsuo had just defeated. He was interesting, this Shinji, and Kotaru had taken notice of him during the tournament. But his intrigue was momentarily forgotten in the moment. The Akari's lips raised into a disgusted snarl and he took a few steps forward to hear their conversation. The Suna woman was prattling on about peace and her dislike for violence. 'Ignorant is right. Suna continues their tradition of being cowards.'

Kotaru's eyes snapped to Iwamaru when he began to engage with her, but before he could interfere, Tatsuo's match ended in a stalemate of all things. How unexpected. The boy glared at the man named Souta, who was clearly much stronger than his age would suggest. "Well fuck, Tats lost to an old guy," he bemoaned, viewing a draw as a loss. Like many Iwagakure shinobi, the bannin considered anything less than outright victory a defeat. Shame.

His attention was stolen, however, by Maido. She had apparently taken up residence in her corpse again. "Long time no see," he replied, smirking as she approached. The irritation in his expression melted away, replaced by the sort of fondness that was rarely, if ever, seen in the irritable and intense bannin. "Grossing out the locals, I see. Didn't expect you to be so chummy with the likes of Suna nin. Same goes for Tats, fraternizing with Konoha scum." His displeasure radiated off of him in waves.

Now that Yuuto was here Shinji was feeling far more at peace, he anchored him, brought out the best parts of him and in this moment especially he was immensely grateful. Looking at Kiyori, Shinji was surprised that she actually apologized to him, he felt uncomfortable when she asked for forgiveness and help, her friendliness extremely disconcerting though he nodded a little awkwardly, “Yeah, sure” he accepted, brushing it off as no big deal. Her bow further unsettled him though he still preferred signs of respect to naïve accusations. He listened as she spoker of the harsh conditions of Wind Country, he could understand the need to work together and be very strict with rations and policies in such a environment. In his earlier meeting with Souta the man had even spoke of how alcohol was banned, among other strict regulations. “I suppose there are some similarities between our villages, at least in regard to respecting law and our superiors.” he acknowledged. His eyes narrowed, not quite believing her as she claimed she didn’t strive to surpass others or become strong for her village. Feeling she was leading up to a bigger point however he would let her finish this train of thought.

It was at this moment that Maido appeared behind him, touching his back and sending a shiver down his spine. He had his moments of being terrified by the blood witch though at the very least there was a persistent unease around her. “…Yeah, of course” he assured with a forced smile, looking over his shoulder at the woman before swallowing hard, a sign of mild anxiety. The woman introduced herself quickly before moving away as something else caught her attention and slowly Shinji exhaled before realizing that he had subconsciously kept himself between Maido and Yuuto, even framing his arm around the white haired Karagata protectively until she had walked away, still no more than 5 meters from them but now talking to the dangerous, angry kid from Iwa that seemed on a similar level to the man he arm wrestled. ‘Interesting’ he noted, realizing that Maido and Kota seemed to know eachother, he hadn’t thought much about it when she gave him her body to hold onto but seeing them interact now there was certainly a familiarity there, maybe even more.

Turning his attention back to Kiyori he listened to what she had to say about strength for the sake of not needing to be strong anymore. This was something he couldn’t comprehend though he did try. He had to fight back the urge to make a rude comment. She was trying to be civil here so he supposed he could show respect too. After all she was strong and surely at least a Jounin which meant she outranked him even if she was a foreigner and the rank of a Sunagakure shinobi meant little in the hierarchy of Kirigakure command. “I’ll admit that’s a concept that doesn’t make sense to me. In Kiri we become strong because we must. The weak can be killed on a whim. If you’re not a shinobi, a successful businessman or tied to a powerful family your life means next to nothing. Even shinobi can kill one another if they’re disrespected to a significant enough extent. Someone like me? I could cut off an untouchables head in the middle of the day on a crowded street and nobody would care. That’s the reality of our world. And the higher your rank, the more fearsome your reputation the more freedom you earn. Jounin and Bannin can live like royalty. I can’t imagine anyone in Kirigakure wanting to give that up for the sake of those who waste their lives in squalor and drunkenness. Those who do not contribute to our village are regarded as trash.” He explained, coldness in his tone when speaking of deplorable people that would rather remain weak and not contribute. Would Kiyori really wish to bring equality between such scum and honored shinobi? That was a world no Kiri nin would want to live in.

Shinjiro would pause as the Iwa shinobi he had arm wrestled first joined the group. He would allow him to make his introduction, nodding to Kiyori as she acknowledged his skills, “The product of a lifetime of training and discipline. My upbringing was harsh even by Kiri standards, but it had made me into one of the finest assassins the village has to offer. Make no mistake, I was killing since the age of 10, before becoming a Jinchuurki. Vorashu’s powers only enhance what I can do on my own” he clarified. Personal strength was incredibly important to him. He was a powerful weapon with or without Vorashu but certainly he would take advantage of the Genma’s abilities to raise him to a higher level than he could achieve on his own, adding in vast tactical advantages. Turning to look at Iwamaru Shinji extended a hand in greeting, “I never got your name. promise I won’t break your hand this time” he teased with a playful smirk. The Iwa Chunin had earned Shinji’s respect, such was the mentality of a Kirigakure shinobi. If he couldn’t even endure that level of pain and desire to overcome it then he was not worthy of being called a shinobi. “So what’s the stone village like, militaristic, dutiful I’m sure but how do you regard personal growth and power?” he wondered, genuinely curious to see where they stood on social policies. Before he could quite answer Souta returned, standing behind Shinji and speaking to Yuuto, though Shinji overheard one part about managing to strike a tie with Tatsuo. Shinji’s eyes went wide in astonishment as he took a side step and moved back so that he could look between Souta and Yuuto on his left, Kiyori across from him and Iwamaru to his right. “No way? You actually managed that?” he stated in disbelief, absolutely incredible. He had never faced such brute strength, not even in his father and somehow Souta could match that level of raw power. Now he wanted more than ever to test himself against the man, looking at him with a competitive but deeply respectful gleam in his eye, all the while listening and trying to pay attention to how Kiyori and Iwamaru would respond.

The sudden appearance and disappearance of Maido was rather stunning for Kiyori, the woman's mind seemed to be everywhere and nowhere all at once. Still, she accepted the handshake with a smile, giving a slight bow. "A pleasure, Maido. Henrin, Kiyori. Your match against Masami was impressive, I find myself both curiously attracted and uneasy about your methods. Maybe we can ta-" before she could even finish speaking Maido was off in search of something, which turned out to be the short shinobi with the big bark from earlier, Kotaru. "Oh... okay." Kiyori was sort of bewildered by how quickly that woman could move from topic to topic... Her mind just didn't work like most, she surmised.

Moving back to the topic of her friendly, or at least neutral Kiri comrades, Kiyori would continue to speak to them on her prospect of peace, first addressing Shinji. "Well of course. Everyone has a value, even if that value is physical labor in the service of some greater entrepreneur who provides a service for someone else, who then uses that service to provide their own services. It's all connected Shinjiro, and not just in the lives of us Shinobi. That said..." Kiyori grew darker in tone for a moment, a sudden shift in her gaze that Shinjiro would no doubt detect. "I never said anything about a free ride for those who prefer to waste their lives away. You get what you give in this world, and those who choose such a lazy means of 'survival' need rehabilitation before their self destructive behaviors take them to an early grave. I'd like to say we can help everyone... but you and I both know that some people are just content to waste away. And I suppose that's their choice... But I won't help them get to that grave of theirs. If you're not willing to pull your weight, then why are you here?"

Kiyori let out a deep breath, honestly despising these sorts of topics, but it was a topic on which she and Shinjiro agreed at least. The scum of the world needed to be taught to pull their weight, or they'd inevitably provide nothing and thus they would receive nothing. If Kiyori had it her way, only those looking to better themselves would receive aid to help them recover, while those content to wither and die... well, they'd find a gutter somewhere to get the deed done. It was a harsh and sad reality, and one she hoped to help remedy. The young shinobi's comments on combat and murder made her blood run cold, even she hadn't taken life until she was 15 or so. "By the Light, so young? I don't know whether to feel sorry for you or be impressed... it's a mixture of both really. Your skills are certainly incredible, but... taking life is honestly the worst part of our careers I feel. I've participated in a number of diplomatic missions to help bring the nomadic tribes of Wind Country together, strengthening our bonds with our countrymen. And I've also helped recover long lost artifacts and tomes for study, knowledge thought to be lost that was recovered. I take great pride in those accomplishments, but not my kill count. I've only taken a few lives, and the fewer the better in my mind. I need to ask Shinji, if I may call you that... If you could, would you choose a different life? Do you truly enjoy your work, or is there something else you'd rather do with yourself if you had the chance?"

It wasn't an attempt at proving any sort of point really, but Kiyori just couldn't believe that anyone would want to live a life of murder and assassination if there was another alternative in mind. He clearly had compassion somewhere in him, that much was clear in his interactions with his supposed cousin. Finally she could address Iwamaru, the young boy who had been there at the start of all these wrestles. "Ooh, I do love your formality young one! But please, there's no need for that... I'd like to be friends, and such stuffy language lends itself to conversation with superiors. You may call me Kiyori. And yes, I would very much love to know what Iwa is like, without the potential for prejudice from my people's education system. I'm aware that propaganda is present in all of our lives... And I want the truth. But most importantly, do you foresee peace in the future young Iwa shinobi? Do you think all five of the villages could bury the proverbial hatchet and work towards a brighter tomorrow?" She was pleased to see that, of all the Iwa ninja here, at least one of them was happy to speak to her on the subject. While the short Kotaru might have much bite to his words, at least not all were like minded.

Finally, Souta returned to her side, after of course plucking at Masami's ears, which earned a giggle from the young Henrin. "Oh my goodness Souta you have no idea how long I wanted to do that! Were they fuzzy?" She eyed the young woman's dog ears with a grin, silently wondering just how soft they really were... Her thoughts were brought back to reality as Souta went with the name proposed by Yuuto, even though he and Tatsuo's competition ended in a tie. "Keiken, huh? I like it... Experience is something we should all strive to attain. Wisdom is the key to the future. That was an incredible test of strength by the way, that man's body looks like steel. Hey Tatsuo, those muscles are amazing! I'd love to see how much you can lift!" She had her little fan girl moment, happy to compliment the man's physique... after all, that seemed to be something that Iwa shinobi took pride in. Maybe it would open the door, if ever so slightly, for discourse.

Making certain he could focus on his conversation with the woman who would later introduce herself as Kiyori, Iwamaru first attended to the startling beautiful woman who'd been so kind as to heal the injury he'd suffered during his bout with the Kirigakure shinobi known as Shinjiro. "Y-Yes... Thank you very much for that kindness. I will not forget it," he managed to get out in a fairly level tone, despite finding it incredibly difficult to meet her in the eyes. This was what happened when your mother died and your father was a workaholic to try and cover up his grief: a boy who's all work and no play with exceedingly limited social skills.

Next, he offered his hand to Shinjiro once he offered it, waiting for the Kirigakure shinobi to finish his conversation with the woman of the Sand. "The name's Iwamaru, sir. As for social policies and personal growth, each person is expected to take responsibility for their own growth, but we may differ somewhat from your culture in the mist. Personal growth is important, but especially for how it contributes to the village's strength as a whole. If you want to be a source of strength for the village, then you need to be strong as an individual. They're intrinsically connected principles."

Turning finally to Kiyori, he addressed the only person he'd intentionally singled out for personal discussion. "I would tend to agree, Lady Kiyori, and outside of official business, I'm not one to use such formal language. But for the sake of giving the best representation of my village as I can, and in order to honor my late mother's teachings, I must insist that I, at least, keep my speech professional, as it ensures courtesy and politeness."

The next questions that Kiyori posited to the young chuunin were heavy questions. One would be fairly easy to answer, as he'd expounded upon it with Shinjiro, but he would further elaborate, as the Kiri shinobi was otherwise occupied. "As I mentioned to my compatriot from the Mist, Iwagakure could be fairly described as one massive, standing military unit. We live, we breathe, we work, and we die for the village. For most of what you do, you are expected to ensure it contributes to the betterment of the village in some way, and it is of particular value if it contributes to the village militarily or economically. No doubt, as other villages may teach, citizens of Iwagakure believe our village to be the best. We have centuries of history demonstrating the resilience, resourcefulness, industriousness, and willpower needed to prove it. Though we do not condone laziness, we are not so callous as to provide basic assistance for those among us who need it, though they are expected to work their hardest to contribute to the society in which they live..."

Iwamaru paused. He was simply giving the rigamarole that he was raised by, only one side of the story. While he didn't have any other story to go off of, he had his own feelings on certain matters. He had to be careful about what he said next. Any words of dissension could be construed as treason. "Peace... If it were my choice, I would strive for it... but to find the will for such a thing the way things are now would be a fruitless endeavor," he admitted bluntly. There was a certain bitterness to his words he could not explain... or maybe he could and simply couldn't afford to do so. "Much like the namesake of our village, the children of Stone have long memories. They do not forget, and they do not forgive easily. To be blunt, we learn resentment towards the Sand and the Leaf from a young age; the Leaf, for the many bitter wars we have fought in on opposite sides; and the Sand, for what we saw as the betrayal of our alliance to join with our long-standing enemies. I'll admit that I do not share the same bitterness that others in my village likely harbor, and I don't know if I ever will. I was blessed with a mother who taught me to try and see all sides before making a decision or assumption, and the color of bloodshed is almost always the same, no matter the headband we wear. I do not believe that questioning aspects of the things and the places you love means you are disloyal. But I am loyal, and though I may neither fully understand nor agree with all of what I may be ordered to do... serving something greater than yourself means casting aside your personal preferences. If you can't do that, can you truly claim to be faithful in the duty you say that you serve?"

He let the question hang on the Jounin's mind. Though he had his reservations, Kiyori would sense a powerful will from the boy, one that would not be easily shaken or broken. They were of like mind, but the difference between one who strove for higher aspirations and one who learned to be content with what was given to him became starkly clear.

Shinjiro nodded in understanding and agreement as Kiyori spoke of some people having the most value as physical labor. That was precisely how he felt about slaves who he considered in higher regard than those that lived as drunkards and vagrants. He too felt more inclined to listen to Kiyori after realizing that she was not as naïve as she initially seemed, acknowledging that those who did not contribute should be disregarded if they did not actively take measures to improve themselves, though she did suggest some degree of help in getting them started on that path. A concept he hadn’t thoughtfully considered before but didn’t have any strong feelings on one way or another. He supposed that some individuals did have potential that was not immediately apparent and certainly those who were truly innocent and lived in squalor out of bad luck in life deserved greater opportunity for a better life.

They went on to discuss killing and this was a topic Shinji was far more familiar and invested in. Her reaction was about what he had expected though the fact that she took the time to compliment his skills and mention being impressed by them was a pleasant surprise. He supposed she was still a powerful shinobi after all. Even in the sand escaping the necessity of murder in the profession of a shinobi was next to impossible when one climbed high enough up the ranks. His eyes glazed over slightly as she spoke of diplomatic missions and recovering artifacts, he couldn’t imagine more boring or ill suited missions for someone of his upbringing and talents. Perhaps surprisingly he didn’t think less of her for her statement that she had only taken a few lives. He realized there were many roles to play in the duties of a shinobi and each had value. “83. That’s my confirmed count. More if you factor in collateral damage though such instances are rare for me” he stated matter-of-factly. Not to brag or to elicit any particular reaction but simply to help her understand his reality and the degree of difference in lives they led despite both being shinobi.

She asked him if he would choose a different life and Shinji looked back with cold, unwavering eyes, “No.” he stated resolutely, needing no time at all to come to that conclusion. “Not for me, but for my many siblings that I’ve lost, for them I wish they could have lived peacefully. Most were not suited for this life.” He admitted, masked turmoil and pain entering his eyes. He and Kiyori were similar in that way, large families, though all but two of Shinji’s siblings, at least the ones he had seen since he was brought into the household, had died before the age of 13. Two in particular haunted him to this day, his brother at least being killed as a shinobi nearly 3 years ago and his closest sister having died of torture 6 years ago. The rest, about another half dozen were not confirmed to be dead, sent back to the slums where their fate was easy enough to presume, with perhaps one or two still living in the middle district with severe mental scarring. He had never even bothered to remember their names, growing detached after years of screams and abuse. His eyes remained cold and dark despite their rather vibrant green coloration. “I enjoy the power, the control. Killing is the only thing I’m good at. It’s all I know and it gives me purpose, though I have some friends now too” he said, looking over to Yuuto and placing a hand on his shoulder. After Iwamaru introduced himself Shinji would simply nod and then leave he and Kiyori to have their conversation, turning to face Souta and Yuuto as well as keeping an eye on Maido and Kotaru not too far from where they stood.

Souta couldn't help it, Shinji's shock caused the man to simply lean back and laugh in such a way he hadn't in years. It was a stark change from the way he'd seen Shinji behave with others, and it only made that laugh all the fuller. He turned and looked at Kiyori as she spoke of his swords new name and nodded. "Suits this blade's story perfectly too, even if he didn't realize it." he added, glancing over at Yuuto with a small smile. He wouldn't tell the story of Hotaru, the tattoo near his kidney and how she'd died in his arms, how it was his fault. He'd alluded to it already, and he didn't have the heart to tell it. It would only bring down the joy that this gathering was becoming. A glance back at Shinjiro told the man the boy wanted to test his strength against him, and in truth it made the man smirk a bit. Shinjiro knew now that Souta's job description involved wrestling and wrangling Genma and their hosts such as himself, and still he wanted to test him. That was something Souta admired.

He fell quiet, listening to those around him though for a moment found himself distracted. Everyone was grouping in now and so the one odd man out who seemed to be trying to carefully observe them suddenly stuck out like a sore thumb. The older man said nothing, but did indeed furrow his brow. "Strange kid." was all he muttered. Of course given the mask he couldn't be certain if the individual was actually a kid, he was only assuming based on the lack of tact and poor attempts to blend into a shifting crowd. But he shook his head and dismissed the sight from his mind, deeming it momentarily unimportant, though certainly something to bring up to Kiyori later.

He turned his attention back as Shinjiro spoke of his kill count and Souta nodded slowly. "I used to pride myself on hunting missing ninja, or taking the most dangerous missions I could... I stopped counting at some point." he admitted, feigning forgetful old man syndrome. In reality he knew exactly when he quit acting so reckless, and quit counting, the day the damn dragon witch cursed him. "Friends is a good step, even killers need to maintain a perspective, now you just need a good woman for a little happiness in your life." He winked at Shinjiro though there was a sadness touched to his words.

Tatsuo resisted the urge to squeal with glee when the dog girl gave him permission to touch her ears even though his own hearing had picked up a comment from a certain short stack he'd be sure to reprimand later. He gently touched and fondled the auditory organ with a look of pure wonder on his face. He had never seen such a person and the fact someone like her existed was amazing to him. Most of the animals around Iwa were hardier and ugly looking while everything below the village was gigantic, creepy, and crawled. It wasn't often cute animals were seen; Tatsuo couldn't really think of any shinobi families with pets but rather barbarian tribes who domesticated the wild dogs of the forests.

"Lost count of the total amount of kills but they're kinda a blur unless I eat 'em." Tatsuo commented on the conversion between Shinji, Kiyori, and Iwamaru as he continued to stroke and pet the woman's ears. "Last guy I ate I ripped him into 5 separate chunks before gettin' to his shiin, whole crowd was goin' wild for it too. Got my nickname 'cause of that incident." Such an act was nothing for the Akari as their entire way of life revolved around consuming the strongest among them to ascend past who they were a moment before. The cultural differences between the villages was astoundingly clear and only served to reinforce the naivety of peace without understanding. The entire comment was said with a straight face, as if such a thing was normal for everyone.

Masami seemed pleased with the intrigue and offered a question as to what brought both Touma and the little kid to such a place to which the man replied with a kind smile.
"Ah, yes, I was actually just saying to the little one... which now I think about it, I never did get his name... as I was saying though I had recently arrived quite late to the earlier and was drawn over here by all the commotion surrounding the ram wrestling." he explained his situation to the girl, glancing back at the odd boy as he recalled that they did not actually exchange names.
"Personally I'm not particularly certain of the point to an arm wrestling match since it doesn't properly prove one's true strength, though I suppose people like to have their own little bits of fun" he went on, expressing his dissatisfaction with such a sport "even if it is rigged" he then quickly muttered under his breath as he thought back to Shinji's disqualification.
"That being said it is interesting seeing so many different people from all over gathering here" he then noted as he glanced around, seeing one of those said people approach before asking to touch Masami's ears followed by the strong older gentlemen beating the guy to it.

"I suppose there's more than me fascinated by your enchanting features" Touma spoke charmingly with a hint of a chuckle as the dog jumped from the sudden startling touch from Shouta cutting ahead of the grand bannin known as Tatsuo.
Luckily it seemed the bannin didn't realise he was an escaped Fukusha which made things quite a bit easier, though he still felt certain he would have to find a good opportunity to get out of Star country before festival's end so as not to be tracked down, lest he be ripped to shreds as the man aptly described doing to one of his fellow clansmen towards the other's and their discussion of strength.

The moment had arrived. Face to face with Kotaru once more, she found that she was suddenly very exceptionally aware of the fact that she was a woman. A warmness filled her in ways she didn't experience with many people. Here, of all places, Maido had the overwhelming urge. She felt a sin coming on. A public show however, she mused was likely not something the Fur Country Samurai patrolling about would be likely to allow. Fur Country? Huh. Perhaps they had come to help oversee the festivities. Let alone the various shinobi of the various villages. Even still, that didn't at all change how she felt about it.

Grossing out the locals indeed. As if her previous display wasn't enough, now she was actively considering jumping his bones right there, right now. Hmm. This just wouldn't do. She needed to find some other way of distracting herself. "Hmm. You know, Kotaru...For someone that's been as intimate with a foreigner as you have, it sure is hypocritical of you to assume they're any worse than I am." She chuckled as the phrase escaped her lips. A direct jab, but clearly a tease nonetheless. She was going to enjoy poking fun at him. After all, she didn't really know how else to hande herself with him when their were this many people about. Perhaps she might get rid of a few of them.

"When you've lived as long as I have, you ignore petty squabbles about what village or country one is from." She drew closer to him as she spoke now, her tongue finding its way to his ear as her hand found its way to his rear. Giving his lobe a lick, she whispered now, "After all, there will always be a need for a beast of burden." At her last syllable, she bit his ear lightly. She had hoped to spark some sort of blush of embarrassment from him. "I'd be inclined to believe your....brother, was it? Shares my opinion on the matter." She gestured in Tatsuo's direction. "Say...he's a bit taller than you isn't he?"

The two had the hots for each other and Kanako was going to give him a certain job in an alley before their ship back home arrived. Tsubasa was a little too eager from his comics, grabbed her head and tried ramming all the way in one go. What the carelessness did though was cause penetration of Kanako's left eye and impacting her brain. Her scream of pain seemed to be the final straw for him as well.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Yuuto couldn't help but to smile at Souta, he couldn't believe that he had listened to him, he had never expected someone wiser to follow his words, which was something he wasn't used to. Most adults seemed to look down on the kid, which wasn't something he could blame them for, he wasn't the arch typical ninja, no, he was the sensitive one that cared way too much for his own good. To think that the first adult to listen to what I have to say other than Jhin would be this gentleman. Yuuto continued to stay in the positive energy.

What surprised him the most was the hug he received from Shinjiro, his eyes watered up from the initial contact, though he wiped the tears as to not create too much of a scene. The boy couldn't stop grinning as he tried to visually imagine the different forms his cousin could take, he knew that he was a jinch but he had only ever sparred with him once and therefor never seen his transformations and only ever heard of them from his father. He listened to what his cousin said and took note of what he told him. She seems to be something to truly fear, considering that he survived such a grueling torture... I mean... His siblings died and yet, he warns me of encountering her... Damn... Yuuto rubbed his chin before turning his attention towards Maido who walked up to them, everything slowed down as his breath steadied. This woman's aura is tangible and almost menacing. Yuuto had no idea to what extent she could manipulate blood, but the very idea that his body could be controlled by an outside source freaked him out.

He noticed how Shinjiro's bloodied hand grabbed his shoulder and almost blocked Maido as she continued to walk past them, the ominous feeling only ever calmed down as he noticed Maido speak with someone he had never seen before, he could tell from the young mans face that he had untold experiences, which rivaled even his cousins stern face. Yuuto turned his face back to Shinjiro and his new "friends" as he jumped back to the conversation. He didn't really like their tone concerning the weak as he was used to being treated like scum under the "worthy's" boot, though he only ever got away with his naive behavior because of the legacy of his father, which he brought great shame to and in fact had it not been for his resilience then he was sure that he would be discarded.

"I wouldn't look at them that way, considering that it's thanks to untold events that put them in such a miserable state. In fact, if we focused on helping the less fortunate then the world would probably balance itself out. Think about it, if the lowest of the lowest was say... A farmer or a shoemaker and not a drunkard then we'd probably have higher educated people who can contribute far better than a low ranked ninja... Hmm... Let' em rephrase that. If we work to eliminate this mental blockage they carry around then everyone would be far better off... Though I don't know how we could solve that problem, but I don't think that progressing at this pace will help us reach such levels... Luckily they can't revolt because of the ninjas keeping them in check, but if the wrong person gets that idea and attempts to train them then we could all end up in bad trouble." Yuuto wasn't used to speaking in such a dark manner but the philosophical part of him knew that he had to speak up.

"I have long thought about it, though I always end up back to square one. That I can do far better work as a ninja than as a civilian, for in Kirigakure I would be considered even lower if not for the fact that I "can" defend myself." Yuuto sighed. "I rather attempt to speak my way out of action rather than to fight, though I have made sure not to take anyone's life, I don't even eat meat." Yuuto chuckled as he tried to look away from the beatiful Henrin, for he couldn't help but blush, she had inspired him to go back to thinking of a better life for not just himself but the others as well, to strive for his main goal, a diplomatic means of ending the wars and conflicts around the world, which he knew was too big of a task for himself to handle.

Yuuto's eyes turned to face the Iwa chuunin, he listened to him speak of his village and how they are raised. Their life styles weren't all that different, save for how brutal life could be in Kirigakure compared to Kirigakure, or at least that was what his father had told him, which now made even more sense considering what Kiyori had earlier said about his village. He couldn't lie, truth was that he did always consider the way of his village to be a bit too much as it always left people to fend for themselves in a world they had shaped themselves. He understood why they respected the strong as they were the one that raised the countries reputation, but he just didn't understand how they could consider the common citizen a low life for not living up to the standards presented by the ninjas, the fact that Shinjiro could kill a business man without being punished, told a lot about what was wrong with his village, but the unfortunately he knew that he would probably have died a long time ago by invaders if it weren't for the might he and his father had shown, so it wasn't like he didn't bring anything other than terror to the table.

Though he secretly wished that he could one day make the hardened ninja soften up and realize that everyone has value, even the drunkards. But if the Iwa bannin was something look up to then he knew that they at least raised theirs to be as strong as their own, or at least that was what he could take away from staring at him. He hadn't personally addressed Yuuto, but he couldn't help but to wonder what kind of man he was? What his future held as he was indeed strong enough to win against two in an arm wrestling match.

Arm Wrestling Competition

Yuji shrugged towards Kozaki, it was true he was not one for simple nor great displays of physical prowess. "Not really. I wouldn't have bothered coming to watch if there hadn't been such a diverse crowd here, not really a common sight." Curiosity had gotten the better of the Fukusha when he had approached the crowd, it had so far proven to be worth it. Yuji had raised an eyebrow at all the flexing Kozaki was doing.

"I am Yuji by the way, did you travel from far?" Yuji's eye glanced over to the other Fukusha, there was something bothering him about the other clan member. Yuji had thought he knew most the clan members in Iwagakure, that did not seem to be the case. The genin thought it would be wise not to reveal his surname as there were not many who were familiar with the Fukusha. It seemed prudent not to draw too much attention to what were now classed as village secrets.

"Why arm wrestling of all things? There is already a tournament on is that not sufficient?" Yuji was asking more out of curiosity than any discourtesy to those present. He gazed over the crowd that had assembled here it was certainly a mix match of all sorts of people. He wished that circumstances would allow for that Suna shinobi to realise her dream of world peace. They would have been able to share each other's culture without the past prejudices getting in the way. It was not going to happen however, the world was too cruel a place.
