Just a city boy...

Taiga and his squad would arrive to the town just at the break of dawn. Taking a deep yawn, he would look at the many houses and buildings that dotted the way to the temple. Combat here would be pretty difficult- and most the ways shinobi had become accustomed to fighting most likely wouldn't work here. On the other hand, he really liked the settings they were in.

Given the pure difficulty of fighting with AoE anyways- Taiga would make a decision to not evacuate the civilians. He would warn them a battle was coming and to stay close to the tower, but he would not try too much to get them out of harms way. If Kirigakure and Iwagakure wanted to capture and win the hearts of Soul Country they would have a hard time doing it if they killed a bunch of citizens in the process.

"You two- I want you to stay close to the temple and vigilant. Make sure citizens don't get harmed but don't move them all out of here. This is such a dense city location the civilians actually deter combat." he said- slightly unsure if he was making the right decision there.

"If we need to- you two will prioritize evacuating all civilians into the tower, but for now I don't want to do anything... crazy." he said as he looked at the temple they were approaching.

There was a giant panda outside the temple.

It groaned at Taiga, but otherwise didn't seem disapproving of him.

Nobu slowly walked behind Taiga, letting him lead the way as they walked into the small town that surrounded the temple. The young genin had little to no experience when it came to large scale warfare like this, though if he was honest, he suspected the young man that was leading him likely didn’t have much either. Though he had no reason to argue with his instructions, though he wasn’t quite a fan of the tone he took.

“I suspect we’ll be waiting around for quite some time; they may attack here but it’s unlikely.” Nobu suggested, he pondered on his thought for a moment and spoke again “If I was on the enemy team, I’d want to keep civilian deaths to a minimum, if they were successful and take over Soul Country they’ll want to keep it for a long time and without the civilians on their side, there would soon be a revolution.” Perhaps this observation made Nobu seem a tad heartless, though It was likely this was obvious to the Hokage who had given them this post, knowing it would be the safest position “Though, of course I could be entirely wrong and we could have powerful S-rank shinobi on our tails quicker than I care to imagine.” He was glad that this was the safest of the towers, but he also didn’t like the idea of ideally sitting around while the action unfolded and he’d contribute nothing during this effort.]

His attention was taken by the large panda as it grunted at the trio, he titled his head to the side and simply gazed at it for a moment. It was a far cry from the animals he was used to in the farm, though in Nobu’s experience most animals could be tamed in a similar fashion, though he suspected a large bear may even be out of his grasp.

Pattering behind the two shinobi; Izaki remained cautious as to his surroundings, taking in the details of the city and any strategic points that could put them at an advantage. For him as an individual, reaching an advantage point was not an issue; for the rest he was not sure, he did not know a great lot about Taigas, or Nobus abilities. Izaki was aware that Nobu was a good strategist, but the timing of this war was not the best. They have only been placed on a team together, and they still had a lot to learn about one another; more about team work, this could be exactly what the two needed.

Izaki paid attention to the two talking; Taiga issuing orders, and Nobu talking about the mentality that the enemy could assume. They were good ideas, they were probably true; the only thing that was the closest to a certainty a that point, was the direction the enemy was going to approach from; it was not going from the direction they came from. So, Izaki reached into his pouch and withdrew his scroll, kneeling down on the ground, he dipped his brush into the ink pot and proceeded to begin painting his favorite technique; Takashi. After the two moved a few steps away, Izaki performed a string of handseals, allowing Takashi to leap out of the scroll and hover above the ground; Izaki leaped onto him and they took to the skies. Izaki did not ask Taiga for permission, he knew that most likely he would be told to conserve his energy for when the enemies appear; he believed that scouting ahead would grant them all an advantage. Knowing the numbers the enemies were arriving in was more important that staying in one place like sitting ducks.

He flew high, higher than the tallest tower; he wanted to be unseen; he wanted to remain at an altitude that would allow him to see the approaching villains, and be able to descend down quickly, and report his findings.

Taiga smirked at the two genin- one who gave his assessment of the situation, the other who had gotten right down to business releasing a flying thing to go and scout. He agreed with both of their actions- and let out a sigh. For now things seemed peaceful. And elder man began making his approached down from the temple, his panda growling and walking towards him.

"There is a high possibility of that Nobu- but for the most part I think they are afraid of harming civilians, as you have said. This is a very hard battle field for our kages or our bigger players. That said, you both keep this in mind. If push comes to shove, we need to fight in a way that won't hurt civilians or cause destruction." he nodded then formed his hands together.

"As genin, I trust you both know the transformation technique. I advise you become "civilians"." he said placing is hands together as he suddenly, in a puff of smoked, turned into a younger man. A student, with a cigarette in his mouth to mask the smoke that always escaped his breathes.

The old man would approach and Taiga would bow.

"We are the e-"

"I know, and parhaps now you shouldnt say that" he said with a wink as he looked to his panda. The two would return a bit up the steps to a courtyard and begin doing tai chi.

Taiga would use the lull to do some walks about the temple- as a civilian.

*[Basic Jutsu • Transformation Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After completing the needed handseals, the user of this technique will be able to alter their physical appearance to match that of another person. By consistently emitting chakra throughout their body, the user is able to keep their appearance adjusted at the cost of their Chakra Pool draining over time. As this technique is quite strenuous to uphold, experienced shinobi may see more clearly through this delusive disguise. This technique lasts for a number of posts equal to that of the user's (Chakra Pool/2).

Izaki heard what his Senpai had said, and waved a string of hand handseals and performing a technique known to everyshinobi out there. The transformation technique. Before transforming however, he channeled more of his chakra out and coated himself and his pre-existing justu in it. Suddenly a poof of smoke enveloped around the two and what came out was a realistic hawk; matching all the typical features. Izaki became a part of his jutsu and was nowhere to be seen. With that he proceeded with his scouting mission.

Ink Release: Takashi
C-Rank Ninjutsu
A great hawk which is more a supporting technique than one which is used for attacking or defending. Although it can be used for such measures but its efficiency drops greatly in such application. Takashi’s strength and speed is equal to ten if not in contact with the user, and it is also only able to move in a straight line. However if the user is in touch with Takashi, the bird moves at a speed and strength of the jutsu is equal to [Control]. The bird is able to carry up to two people on its back during flight and is fully controlled by the user. The jutsu remains active for as long as the user wishes to.

Taiga made a fair point about how they would fight, without hurting civilians, though in all honesty to Nobu, it wasn’t a point that needed pointing out, if they were to hurt civilians it wouldn’t make them much of a defence team. He rolled his eyes in annoyance, Nobu wasn’t a warm person and was rather cold to anyone who spoke to him, specially if he didn’t know them.

As Taiga seemed to suggest that they used the transformation technique, he watched as his two teammates performed their own, Taiga turning into a young man and Izaki turned into a hawk and took off, which surprised Nobu, it was a rather useful technique that would likely come in handy and give the group a good vantage point.

Though to Nobu, transforming himself felt quite a pointless act. What he’d experienced of the Transformation Technique it was incredibly taxing on chakra and to most high ranked shinobi it was easy to see through and would only give them the element of surprise for a moment. Not a single enemy shinobi would recognise Nobu, he’d never left the village nor did he have any notoriety. His entire combat style was rather chakra intensive and he didn’t wish to waste any chakra that wasn’t needed. He simply closed his brown coat, covering up his forehead protector that was ironically attached to his belt.

If Taiga was to push the matter, Nobu would politely, yet coldly decline.

With his new found disguise of shutting his coat, though he certainly didn’t look like a shinobi, his coat was long enough to cover anything that might suggest otherwise. Nobu followed silently as an elderly man greeted them, likely someone high up within the temple. The young genin pondered if anyone would even come to this temple, of course it’s better it wasn’t attacked, but Nobu didn’t want to miss out, even though he was nervous, he was excited for the experience of war, something that would shape and mould him forever.

The trio stood around doing nothing, it seemed as though Nobu was correct and the Shinobi from Kiri and Iwa wouldn't be attacking this temple at least not for now. He listened over the comms as it seemed the action was happening elsewhere. Without speaking a word to anyone, Nobu took off, heading to camp to see if anyone was injured, least there he could be some help.
