Round 2: Genin Losers Bracket: Haruka vs Kozan

The arena has a 25m radius and is mostly comprised of grass land, trees to provide some shelter and texture to the battlefield. However, 5m from the wall surrounding the entire arena is sandy terrain. The arena is marked by a 20m high wall that is built in the shape of a doughnut, the seats are layered with ten rows running along the whole perimeter of the arena. There is a tower that is supported by pillars and columns above the northers side of the stadium, this is where the representatives of other nations are seated. The participants have the own place to wait until their turn, it is at the bottom section of the wall surrounding the battlefield and has a viewing window that allows the participants to watch fighting that take place. Haruka will begin at the eastern most point, standing directly in front of the sand. Kozan will begin at the western most point, standing directly in front of the sand.

Haruka would enter the arena and quickly at full sprint move to a place to hide then while hiding in that spot she would move to a different hiding spot while hidden or in cover 10 meters to the right. Hopefully making it harder for him to find her. She would then activate her explosive kunai jutsu repeatedly and start creating explosive clay kunai as quietly and stealthily as possible.

While she was doing this she would carefully listen around her surroundings as well as make sure she could observe her surroundings to avoid any incomming attacks if she needed to.

She really hoped she could win this one she did work on her endurance on the break time. So that should hopefully be far less of a issue now and shouldn’t have to worry about getting into melee combat now. But she didn’t know much about her opponent sadly because of her time spent on learning jutsu and endurance because of that she would have to be extra careful.

The round would start and Kozan would watch as his opponent darted into the shadows and attempt to hide herself. He'd do little to stop her, pulling one of the smoke bombs from his flak jacket and holding it in his hand. She was surely preparing something while she hid. Pausing for a moment, the genin would take a deep inhale, then turn his body so that he was directly facing where Haruka was hiding. He could gather her general location based on that. There were only a couple of trees she could be in based on where her fear was coming from.

Taking the smoke bomb, he would toss it in the center of the area she was in, causing it to erupt into a cloud of smoke. Quickly, he would pull three kunai, two with exploding tags hanging from them. He would first throw the two kunai with the tags, one to each side of the smoke billowing from the bomb, and then he'd take a second. Smiling, he'd toss the third kunai dead center, right to the epicenter of where he sensed Haruka. If he was right, this would be sailing towards her legs.

He'd then prepare himself, she'd have three choices, jump to either side, to which he could detonate the tag, or come out forward, to which she'd need to meet him in open combat.

The base design for Kozan, he is meant to be the perfect predator. Kozan’s enhanced predatory instinct comes with two skills that are granted to him. The first is that Kozan is able to sense fear as a 6th sense, which Kozan approximates closest to smelling. In it’s basest form, Kozan is simply able to recognize the aura of fear on anyone within 25m of him, that gets stronger as he gets closer to the fearful person, though he is unable to distinguish individuals. Techniques can further refine this. Secondary to this, Kozan constantly radiates killer instinct. While this doesn’t have any major physiological or psychological effects, those within 25m of Kozan, with less Willpower than him, will begin to experience small waves of fear through them, which Kozan can then sense to track. Kozan is always radiating killer instinct.

Haruka would keep trying to make 10 kunai but when the smoke bomb hit she knew something was up but kept going waiting for the inevitable attack. She would then listen in and hear two kunai go to either side she wondered if he was planning something or if he just missed. If was then that the final kunai came in which case she would quickly move to the left side of the smoke and notice the explosive tag on it and quickly try to move out of its explosive range. Depending on if she could get away in time would depend on what she would do next or how she would react.

Kozan kept focus on the smell of Haruka's fear, and as she moved to leave the smoke, Kozan would detonate both tags. Activating them as she left the smoke, not giving her a chance to even see they were there. As the explosion detonated, he would rush forward, the black truth seeker on his arm squirming to life and moving down into his hand to form a whip approximately 2m in length. Unlike the normal empty expression Kozan wore, his eyes were thin, his pupils dilated. The boys brow had come together reflecting an intense focus as he moved without seeming to exert himself at all. While he was just barely a functional person, Kozan was a refined hunter, a perfectly build predator, and Haruka was his prey.

As he closed in on her, he would jump in the air, spinning as he did so and letting the whip lash out in the air as he spun. His goal was to keep Haruka on the defensive, and eventually force her against the wall so he could lay into her. The aim of the spin maneuver was not necessarily to hit her, though that wouldn't be bad. But to force her back slightly more. At about a meter in the air once he began to spin, Haruka would have plenty of space to dodge, though not a lot of time.

Haruka would look on shocked as the tags activated as soon as she was approaching the location. The person definitely had a method of locating people like the byakugon so hiding wasn’t going to work here sadly. This was frustrating but at least it wasn’t 2 on 1 like last time so hopefully have a better shot at winning. She then got blasted by the one to the left she would get knocked out of the smoke flag on her back. Though it isn’t like it mattered she doubted it would’ve caused her opponents problems.

It was actually most likely best for her. She would then watch as her opponent started to approach her with a twirling strange whip. She would quickly take one of the only two kunai she had prepared and then do a barrel roll under the aerial whip maneuver and keep rolling until she had enough space between her and him to safely stand up. After wards when he was finished wish his maneuver and she stood up. She would start to think of how she could deal with him, a whip would make it difficult to get close and worse the weapon seemed to be able to change shape.

She would then start channeling chakra into her foot and if she had enough time would place a explosive fuin seal on the ground next to her by tapping it with her foot.

A rock would fall from the sky and strike Kozan in the head, eliminating him from the competition.
