Exhibition: Xi vs Shinji

[Ace Trainer]

The arena has a 25m radius and is mostly comprised of grass land, trees to provide some shelter and texture to the battlefield. However, 5m from the wall surrounding the entire arena is sandy terrain. The arena is marked by a 20m high wall that is built in the shape of a doughnut, the seats are layered with ten rows running along the whole perimeter of the arena. There is a tower that is supported by pillars and columns above the northers side of the stadium, this is where the representatives of other nations are seated. The participants have the own place to wait until their turn, it is at the bottom section of the wall surrounding the battlefield and has a viewing window that allows the participants to watch fighting that take place. Xi will begin at the eastern most point, standing directly in front of the sand. Shinji will begin at the western most point, standing directly in front of the sand.

The judges for this bout will be Nu, Sha, and Ji (all judges will be controlled by Onu sicne he's not participating in this event and it will expedite the process (maybe))

Xi posts first.

A simple looking figure, simply wearing the standard jounin attire of his homeland with his hands in each pocket entered the arena, simply sighing to himself as this was really not what he had signed up for when he had volunteered to be apart of this grand international chuunin event. But his pride as a Iwa-nin couldn't allow for the dark haired man to run away at this point and so he could only suck it up and put on foot in front of the other as he stepped across the exterior circle of sand landing his feet on the soft patchy grass of the arena he stood within. 'To late to turn back now...'

Four orbs sprung to life as the detached themselves from the man's diagonally worn sash as the battle soon began after the cloaked Kiri shinobi entered the arena, something oddly familiar about the man's features pinged in Xi's mind but he shook off the thought just as quickly. As the bout began two of the four orbs shot forward as the other two remained close to him, on on either side of him about one meter in front of the man. Four golden eyes snapped open, one upon each of the soul orbs before the two orbs nearest the jounin grew to about a meter in size while the two flying forwards (at forty control) grew to around two meters in size each. At this time the man had closed one of his eyes to focus on the new field of view granted by the Eyes of Insight which revealed the level of chakra of the fighter across from him that his orbs went to attack in a probing manner. 'What a scary looking kid....'

Two orbs attacks, opening their large metal tooth filled mouths attempting to take a nibble from the man as the other two flowed just a few feet of the ground protecting the flanks of the young man as he couldn't recall ever seeing this young man but pretty much every Kiri shinobi he had worked with through the intervillage relationships between Iwa and Kiri had let him to have a few notions of their shinobi. They were almost always strong and they thirsted for death and battle. It didn't really make sense for the more laid back man as he watched and observed his attack against Shinji, attempting to finely control the orbs to match the movement of the fighter and drive them into a proverbial corner in this round arena.

[Izanagi]

Shinjiro didn't know much about his opponent other than he was a Jounin from Iwa and he used orbs controlled by chakra. This seemed to suggest of course that if he were able to get close to the man himself that he could make short work of him. Nonethless, it would be foolish to underestimate the power of his orbs.

His first match against Proximus had been over in a matter of seconds, utilizing speed and Iaido. Getting close to this man might be more difficult. Similarly, the first thing he would do was withdraw a pair of canisters, this time utilizing blue smoke instead of green, while simulatneously switching out the type of gas stored in his own personal resovoir.

Striding forward at 25 speed he tossed the pair of canisters 10 meters to either side of his opponent and similarly about 10 meters from the sand. He expected he would use the two orbs closest to him to deflect the canisters or perhaps simply move out of the area. Either way it could help keep him occupied for a moment.

As the two large orbs, bigger than himself approached Shinjiro stopped about 8 meters from the edge of the sand and drew each of his swords letting out a short kiai followed by another more powerful one. The intensity and killing intent of the young swordsman seemed to burst forth as the young overseer of the seven swordsman decided to reveal that he was not only a master of Iaido but also Zantou style swordsmanship. The power of his ferocious shout was so intense that it carried across the entire arena and would strike Xi with relentless waves of nausea and diziness.

If the man did in fact control the orbs and they didn't act on their own then the most effective thing he could do was attack the caster directly and beat him on all fronts, making the power of the orbs effectively useless. With this in mind, Shinjiro would suddenly dash left at his full 45 Speed as the orbs came within a few meters of him. If Xi was even able to keep a line of sight on him in his current state then it would appear as though he hadn't moved and was still in his ready stance. Meanwhile shinjiro darted toward wherever the man himself currently was, however his awareness was keen and should any orbs move fast enough to interecept them he would make narrow dodges, dashing and slashing with expert precision and grace to cut through them as many times as needed without slowing him down much at all as he honed in on his target with terrifying focus and tenacity.

This poison affects the victim by absorbing through their body and directly into their chakra system or being inhaled. Each cannister will deploy a 10-meter diameter cloud of turquoise poison that will linger in the air unless disposed of by some other means. Shinjiro can also infuse this poison to utilize as his breath attack and/or infuse it into his bloodstream and other bodily fluids according to his Shinigami’s Curse ability. Those affected will find their chakra flow impaired, limiting their control and ability to perform ninjutsu. For each post the user is exposed to this poison the effect will stack though the 4 post runtime will count starting from the first exposure and not re-start from additional exposures within that timeframe.

A-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Prerequisite(s): *[Zantou • Winter Blizzard].
Building upon its parent technique, this Stance further builds upon further sharpening and refining the practitioner's capacity to focus on the opponent and the task at hand. Drawing in a deep breath, the practitioner also gathers up their energy and releases a kiai. The level of skill the practitioner has attained allows the practitioner to effectively attack and block from a neutral stance without any detriment. While in this Stance, the practitioner can effortlessly ignore non-critical distractions, focusing solely on the opponent(s). They also are able to ignore extreme heat, extreme cold, moderate oxygen deprivation, extreme fatigue, and even extreme pain. They can read the opponents' muscle contractions and body positioning very accurately in this stance, and they are able to read the direction, the type, the timing, and the speed of an attack that is imminent. The opponent can still effectively mask their movements if they have a movement-concealing Stealth technique of equal or higher rank than this technique. While in this Stance, the practitioner is conferred with a +4 increase to Strength and Will Power but suffers a -4 penalty to Chakra Pool and Control. The practitioner may end this Stance whenever they so wish.

*[Zantou • Frost Dragon's Roar]
A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 30 Will Power,, *[Zantou • Frostbitten Howl].
Zantou harnesses the inner strength of its warrior to cause the opponent to lose hold of their senses. A more advanced version of its parent technique, the practitioner unleashes a mighty kiai, which bombards the opponent with violently vibrating air currents entering their ear canals. Opponents within a number of meters equal to the practitioner's Strength must have a Will Power equal to or higher than the practitioner's Will Power to resist the effect of this technique. Otherwise, any opponents in range of the technique will lose all sense of orientation, balance, and proprioception, resulting in a -9 penalty to Speed for the next three posts in the form of disorientation and extreme nausea to the point of uncontrolled vomiting. This technique can be used in conjunction with other techniques. The disorientation effect from this technique can be stacked with other disorientation effects and refreshes the post limit for any disorientation effect currently imposed on the opponents.

Blurred Movement
S-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 25 Speed
Having honed his body to operating at high speeds Shinjiro has developed the ability to blur his movements at will making his fine movements more difficult to determine. If his opponent doesn’t have a perception/motion tracking technique of equal or greater rank then Shinjiro’s actual movements will be invisible to the eye, leaving only an afterimage of himself in his wake that will persist for a full post before fading.

A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): *[Zantou • Frost Dragon’s Flight].
A technique specifically designed to help the practitioner fight against an army, the practitioner breaks into a dash, weaving through their opponents. Using the principles learned from Frost Dragon’s Flight, the practitioner quickly launches sudden cuts and thrusts aimed at vital areas of the body, all while dodging incoming attacks, allowing the practitioner to potentially dispatch a large number of opponents with ease. The practitioner can keep attacking and dashing without stopping for a number of posts equal to half their Endurance stat, rounded down, though they may end the technique whenever they so wish as well. The practitioner may use other techniques while executing this technique as well.

'Gas?' Xi wasn't a fool, even though he wasn't quite sure what was in those canisters it was obvious that it wouldn't be good for his own health to deal with them as the Kiri nin had positioned them in such a way as to box him in leaving him with only one obvious answer which was to evade upwards. But Xi had another idea as the canisters exploded now the mouth of the orb next to him had already opened and the man leaped into it as it grew to about one and a half meters in size itself and both eyes closed as the mouth chomped down appeared to have eaten its owner in that moment. With the mouth sealed shut the orb rose into the air along with the second one, the two chasing Shinji previously also rose above the clouds of harmful toxin that the man had spread about till they were about twenty or so meters above the area. Being inside the orb would protect him from the roars (kiai) reaching him and save him from would could have been a rather, messy future in more than one way.

Above the smoke filled arena, he utilized the seeing technique that linked his vision with that of the orbs, able to track the chakra of the rather fleet footed individual who moved across the arena below him as the three orbs that didn't contain him had tilted downward allowing all three of them to stare downwards from the aerial position. Using a single target technique was out of the question as the young swordsman was far to fast and nimble and wielding two swords would likely be able to deflect or parry attacks easily, how troublesome a fellow was this one. Both hands clasped into a single seal for focusing chakra, his entire body glowing with flame like chakra from his curled up position inside the orb as the chakra was transferred from him to the receiver in one of his other three orbs, the mouth of that orb snapped open and the glow of raw chakra could be seen as a sheer blast of chakra flashed downward.

Xi controlled the blast in order to keep it within the boundaries of the arena and not cause collateral damage to those watching, the beam of chakra expanding from the mouth in a conical shape intent on covering the entirety of the arena in order to deal with the fast travel speed of the swordsman. Holding nothing back as the beam was unleashed at his full strength (control) as the blast of chakra smashed down, what would the Kiri-nin do...?

[Izanagi]

If there was one thing that annoyed Shinjiro the most it was when his targets managed to run away from him. They were always so quick to flee, to rely on little tricks to hide and slip away from his attacks. Well, the young assassin of the mist village was nothing if not persistent and with each insult to his pride and his years of relentless training he became more determined to bring down his opponents. He hated exerting himself needlessly and engaging in long, drawn out battles. There was a reason why the vast majority of his battles ended within the first 10 seconds. He had no intention of this match being an exception to that rule.

His opponent hid in one of his spirit orbs and recalled the others just as soon as he had sent them out, leaving Shinjiro to dash toward a fleeing target with not a single enemy to taste the steel of his blades. That simply wouldn’t do. As Xi and his orbs took to the sky, naturally Shinjiro grew a pair of large black bat wings, sprouting forth after a brief glow of green chakra. One of the orbs began to glow with chakra and it didn’t take a genius to figure out what was about to come next. “Die!” Shinjiro uttered, he was no longer interested in pulling his punches for this match. He couldn’t say for certain if his opponent had been affected by his shout, either they were disoriented and realized a largescale attack was their best option, their constitution was quite high, or they had managed to insulate themselves completely against vibration and sound-alike within the orbs. Given his speed and mirages which few could perceive this narrowed down the options to indicate they most likely sensed him via chakra though that wouldn’t matter much. He had no intention to hide from this man.

Tensing his body and summoning forth every bit of his 49 Strength in this state he kicked off the ground as he slammed his wings down in a furiously powerful flap, propelling him instantly to land atop the orb that housed Xi, landing as the beam fired off while striking with both of his swords atop the head of the orb. A brilliant fury of slicing winds propelled throughout the entire arena, including the skies that would engulf the remaining orbs in cutting winds of 49 Strength and Speed. Exhaling he would fill the area with more of his blue poison, spreading to a 15-meter diameter around him as he delivered additional slashes, enough to open the pod up with ease and allow to smoke to affect his opponent, weakening the orbs further against the swirling winds of destruction. As soon as he was through the pod, he would aim to stab both swords through the man’s shoulders, wracking his body with tremendous pain, fear and paralyzing poison all while his chakra control was constantly being siphoned away. If the man somehow managed to evade him again his attacks would only grow increasingly more violent. Ally or not, tournament or battle, he had awakened the man’s wrath and killer instinct. Shinjiro would have his blood; dead or alive the man would be defeated.

Assassins Flight
A-Ranked Partial Kaerujutsu
This transformation allows Shinji to grow a pair of large bat wings from his upper back. Each wing is 3 meters long and 1.5 meters wide and typically brown or black in color. These wings are fully functional allowing Shinji flight capabilities. As an extension of his body Shinji has learned how to fly and move as swiftly and silently as he normally would.

Wind Dragon Tempest
S-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 40 Strength, 40 Speed, [Sword Weapons]/i], [Heavenly Body Control]
Sighting in a target Shinji will tense his muscles before making an instantaneous dash, propelling himself up to a distance of 50 meters. This movement is so fast that it takes up one of the two allotted teleportation’s per thread. Shinji will follow up this dash with a slashing strike with so much speed and force that a tornado of cutting winds forms around him, delivering multiple cuts moving and striking with a Speed and Strength equal to Shinji’s Strength stat. These winds travel outward to a radius of 35 meters.

Prerequisite(s): *[Zantou • Winter Maelstrom].
Torquing the muscles in their arms, the practitioner unleashed a relentless flurry of twisting slashes and thrusts. With controlled twisting of the wrists and arms, the practitioner can immediately change the direction of any of these attacks, even to the point of converting a slash into a thrust and vice-versa. The unpredictability of this technique, complemented by the practitioner’s already muted movements, makes this one of the deadliest techniques in all of Zantou.

Prerequisite: [Deft Hands], [Close Quarters Combat] [Sword Weapons]
Shinjiro has fine tuned his accuracy with his strikes to the point where he can consistently target even a moving target within 1mm of precision as well as being able to find openings in his opponents guard and capitalize on those openings so long as his Speed is greater than or equal to that of his opponent unless they have an adequate defensive technique. This includes his use of bladed weapons and his own limbs.

Having acquired a vast knowledge of the human Anatomy and its weak points Shinjiro can strike in such a way as to cause organ failure from direct stabbing attacks, either with his appendages or a weapon so long as his Strength is at least 5 higher than his opponent, affecting the target accordingly typically though not limited to including symptoms of extreme pain and nausea, potentially leading to fatal consequences. Similarly, connecting muscle groups can easily be severed via bladed strikes rendering entire limbs unusable unless adequate medical treatment is applied.

Sheathed across Shinji’s back with the handle over his left shoulder this Katana measures 32 inches total with a blade length of 26 inches. The blade in deep crimson in color and has small groves along the length of the blade for storing and transferring poison across the blade and down to the tip of the sword. The Strength and Durability of this sword is 35 and it will repair any damage done to it over the course of 1 full post. The true unique nature of the sword is that so long as they have a chakra network any being cut by it will be struck with immense fear and a sense of impending doom. They will fear Shinjiro especially, often collapsing in terror before going to great lengths to avoid him. This feeling of terror will persist for 2 full posts after being cut by the weapon. Having bonded with the weapon, Shinjiro is immune to its effects.

Agony
Sheathed across Shinji’s back with the handle over his right shoulder this Katana measures 32 inches total with a blade length of 26 inches. The blade is black in color and has small groves along the length of the blade for storing and transferring poison across the blade and down to the tip of the sword. The Strength and Durability of this sword is 35 and it will repair any damage done to it over the course of 1 full post. The true unique nature of the blade however is that any being that is cut by its edge, so long as they have chakra will feel an immense surge of pain throughout their entire body; this agony is comparable to every nerve in the body being exposed, making every movement excruciatingly painful and every sensation enhanced to extreme levels. This pain persists for 2 full posts after being cut. Only Shinjiro may wield this weapon with anyone else who uses it for the purpose of combat experiencing the its pain effect so long as they remain in contact with the weapon.

A poison utilized by Shinjiro in order to render his victim's helpless, paralyzed from the neck down. In its original state this thick poison has a grey coloration though when infused in Shinjiro’s body it can be applied from any of his bodily fluids including his blood, saliva or sweat. Just a few drops introduced to the victim's system via entry though skin contact, blood stream or mucous membrane is enough for the poison to begin taking effect. It will begin as a slight tingling sensation in the area surrounding the entry point of the poison, before developing into full blown paresthesia of the entire body before the paralysis sets in. Once the paralysis is in place, it will prevent the victim from controlling their conscious motor functions. They will still be able to breath, their heart will continue to function as normal, but they will have no conscious control over their body. The only part not affected is their ability to move their eyes, slightly turn their head, and their ability to speak.

The shinobi's speed was incredible, managing to nigh teleport himself with such speed that he narrowly missed being smashed by the massive blast of chakra that pushed down into the area creating a massive crater over ten meters in depth as the winds that accompanied that now winged beast pushed the orbs under Xi's control away from the approaching figure, including the one that Xi was within. 'This is crazy!' This was the only thing that the Iwa-nin could think as he saw the savage Kiri ninja through the multiple fields of view that were able to see through the swirling maelstrom as he positioned the two orbs nearest him between himself and the advancing shinobi as they were smashed by the swirling winds that acted like blades, the orb which had launched the chakra blast was easily shredded as Xi gave up all control on it had to focus on the remaining three active orbs.

His other two would not hold up more than a few seconds against the insane barrage of rage filled strikes from the young assassin, this had always been a weak point for the shinobi and a reason as to why he always operated in a supporting role during squad missions. Now he found himself face-to-face against the beast as the two orbs were quickly torn into scrap metal by the assault it gave him a few seconds to jut away with impressive speed but the beast was on him in moments as the last vision from the orbs before their chakra receptors were destroyed was the same smoke as before being exhaled into the area. 'More gas on top of this guy's raging strength and odd transformations...' The clicking of steel and wind against his chakra reinforced orb brought him back into reality as he knew that this fight was more or less over and he had no real chance of winning.

But he wouldn't just go without leaving some sort of parting shot in this match where he'd been more or less dominated from the start with the tools and abilities of the shinobi so just as Shinji would start tearing through the hardened shell of the orb he took a deep breath in and held his breath. The orb shot backwards into the sword wielding fend as Xi leaped forward from the opening mouth to temporarily escape the wrath of the as he grasped hold of a single orb from the sash in front of him as he fell towards the earth far outside the bounds of the arena as one of the orbs on the back of his sash opened its eye giving him 'eyes' behind him as the flying shinobi was about to catch him after making quick work of the orb he had just been hiding within. Chakra was pushed from his arm into the orb within his grasp as he twisted his body turning around to meet the descending blades from the twisted swordsman both impacting their marks in either shoulder as he was now face-to-face with this silent killer.

The orb that had been in his hand was released from the impact of the blades and the parting gift for Shinji was also in return as the pain from the stabs caused a scream to break the man's breath holding and at the same time release the jutsu he'd built up within the orb. A flash of chakra struck forward as a sword of chakra escaped the tiny orbs slightly open mouth, extending out to over twenty five meters in length and a few meters in width, the thin but wide blade shot upwards attempting to cleave the very life from the gemna host who was perceived as 'to dangerous' to let live from the standpoint of the Iwa shinobi. While he was out of this fight due to the combination of the swords that were taking over his body with their effects and the poison gas, the pain literally forcing him to pass out as it was far past anything he had ever experienced, the Kiri-nin was left to deal with a deadly attack in the chakra sword. Xi's only regret was that he didn't have enough time to fully charge the attack.... (launched at 40 speed and strength)

After performing hand seals, the user is able to cause up to [Soul /5] orbs to open their mouth and create a long claymore style sword extending up to twenty five meter's in length, one meter width sword of chakra allow for it to expand from their mouths at speed and strength of [Control]. Last for five posts.

In the less than 10 seconds since the battle had begun the arena had already been destroyed, the blast destroying the arena and the sand border alike, leaving only the scorched and damaged walls that likely barely held together unless they were very heavily reinforced with chakra. Furthermore, Shinjiro’s winds ravished the air space and sliced up whatever bits of debris had been flung into the air, surely giving the spectators quite the spectacle and it was fortunate that both shinobi managed to pull their punches so to speak just enough to not kill any of the bystanders, though this brush with power would certainly have important civilian dignitaries and shinobi alike glad that the war had come to an end. To imagine the destruction these two could cause when paired together as representatives of allied nations, was a truly terrifying thought.

One by one each of the orbs were shredded by the slicing winds and his own blades should they find themselves in his path. As the winds began to disperse, Xi managed to eject himself from his orb as Shinji tore through its roof. As one would expect he wouldn’t let him retreat so easily, Shinji was faster and more mobile than his opponent, especially in the air and as Xi moved through the blue smoke that engulfed his pod his ability to muster the full strength of his chakra would be impaired as the poison absorbed through his skin. Propelling after him Shinjiro moved swiftly through the sky, an expert assassin every movement was done with silence and the utmost efficiency, tracking the man and accounting for his trajectory perfectly so as to not miss his dual stabs by even a cm, impaling his shoulders as he landed atop him in such a way to render both arms completely unusable. Combined with pain, fear, and a paralyzing poison this match would be over. He realized as they landed however that they were right next to the wall, meaning it was a portion of the arena that would have normally been covered in sand and thus be out of bounds. A frustration certainly and he hoped he wouldn’t be judged poorly for it, after all his opponent had destroyed that divider and been the one to leap to the area, he had simply been homed in on pursuing his target. Nonetheless, his wings already beat down, preparing to drag the man back closer to the center of the arena while still impaled on his swords just to be safe.

However, as he noticed the aggressive positioning of one of the smaller orbs between himself and the man Shinjiro slid his weapons out, flapping his wings down and growing a protective shell around his torso, neck, and hip/shoulder joints as the chakra sword jutted into him. Sheathing his weapons as he retracted his head inside his protective shell the man next slid his arms and legs inside as his wings tucked in behind him, allowing his chest to take the brunt of the impact as it spun him through the air, through twisting his body out of the main sword strike with the help of some adjustments by his wings received some deep slashes across the thinner sections, and he ungracefully impacted against the deep pit, slowed only to about 25 speed by his tattered wings. Emerging from the shell the young man pushed himself back to his feet, his hood had flown back and so too had his mask fallen out of place from the jostling, revealing his young face, barely more than a teenager despite this being his third tournament over the last 7 years or so. Bowing his head out of respect for his opponent and that close call, he grinned and began to laugh lightly. It had been a long time since he had felt such a close call, the last person that had nearly killed him had been a rogue puppeteer and since then he had learned to be more cautious in quickly preparing defenses. “Well fought” he stated simply. He could respect the man’s tenacity and powerful offensive artillery at the very least, even if his methods made it annoying for a close quarter’s specialist such as himself. This match had lasted longer than his first, nearly 30 seconds by the time his falling back to the ground had been accounted for.

This transformation allows Shinjiro to manifest a black turtle-like shell around his torso, protecting his stomach, chest, back and even his shoulders, thighs and neck. This shell acts much like a suit of armor although it is physically a part of him, bonding with his skin, manifesting beneath the swords worn on his back. He can even retract his limbs and head into the fleshy space inside the shell. The strength of the shell is equal to that of Shinjiro’s Strength.
