Exhibition: Taiga vs Xi

[Ace Trainer]

The arena has a 25m radius and is mostly comprised of grass land, trees to provide some shelter and texture to the battlefield. However, 5m from the wall surrounding the entire arena is sandy terrain. The arena is marked by a 20m high wall that is built in the shape of a doughnut, the seats are layered with ten rows running along the whole perimeter of the arena. There is a tower that is supported by pillars and columns above the northers side of the stadium, this is where the representatives of other nations are seated. The participants have the own place to wait until their turn, it is at the bottom section of the wall surrounding the battlefield and has a viewing window that allows the participants to watch fighting that take place. Taiga will begin at the eastern most point, standing directly in front of the sand. Xi will begin at the western most point, standing directly in front of the sand.

The judges for this bout will be Nu, Sha, and Ji (all judges will be controlled by Onu sicne he's not participating in this event and it will expedite the process (maybe))

Xi... Xi... some guy from Iwagakure with a foreign sounding name. Xi? Really it didn't ring a bell. Actually Taiga had seriously never heard of him, yet, the fact they were paired for battle meant one thing... He probably should have heard of him. From his position, Taiga would move at a light pace and begin building tailwind, but do nothing to take an offensive yet.

He didn't really know anything about this guy, after all.

Konoha no Senken • Tailwind
B-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
Required: [Heavenly Body Control]
The Flying Swallow Style developed by the Sarutobi family is a NinTai style. To circumvent the need for ninjutsu in Konoha no Senken, practitioners instead use their own explosive movements to bend the wind around their body and create a powerful tailwind behind them. While they move, this tail wind violently circulates around their body, building up pressure. Each post the the user is consecutively moving forward at a minimum of [Speed]/2, the wind gains [Speed]/2 strength. It can be used as a shield to protect the user, or through the use of another technique can be released. The maximum amount of times the technique can gain speed is 2 times. If the user stops moving or drops below [Speed/2] for more than a post the wind dissipates.

Xi entered, appearing to be just any standard Iwa jounin based on his simple village issued attire that allowed him to not stand out amongst others as it wasn't really the young man's thing, With his hands in his pocketed he quietly entered and glanced across the arena. The name of his opponent was one that he'd heard about through the grapevines of the great war for his deeds and strength during the battles that unfolded across various countries. 'Seems to be about my luck...' Sighing to himself the match was soon under way as chakra flushed through his body and into four of his orbs that hung on the elegant looking diagonal sash across his upper body.

After the Four orbs sprung to life and detached themselves, four golden eyes snapped open, one upon each of the soul orbs before the two orbs nearest the jounin grew to about a meter in size while the two flashes forwards seemingly without any regard for who their opponent was (at forty control) or what he was capable of. Growing enroute to around two meters in size each. At this time the man had closed one of his eyes to focus on the new field of view granted by the Eyes of Insight which revealed the level of chakra of the fighter across from him that his orbs went to attack in a probing manner. 'What a scary man....'

The two orbs initiated their attacks, opening their large metal tooth filled mouths attempting to take a few 'nibbles' from the man as the other two floated just a few feet off the ground protecting the left and right flanks of the young man as he'd never seen this man before but something still caused for the man to have some form of familiarity, which in itself scared him. Because if the man was well enough known that even a foreign shinobi like himself should know him it was a testament to just how strong the figure in the ring with him currently must be...

Forming a short set of hand seals the user channels chakra into his active soul orbs causing their size to increase from their normal three inch diameter up to the max size allowed by the user's [Control] stat. This transformation last for [Control/4] posts.

[Taiga]

Taiga would keep his distance, his eyes peeled on his opponent. When he really kept his focus the world almost seemed to move in slow motion at times- that was the way things were for shinobi of his speed, willpower, and perception. He took interest in the metal orbs that floated about- each seemingly having differing abilities as some worked as eyes, and others worked as strange things that aimed to bite people.

Subtly, while still moving, Taiga would turn his body to a composite of metal and flesh. From what he could tell the orbs were metal, and what better to defend against metal than metal? The end effect would be subtle, but his skin would have a slight glisten and shine to it. Before he knew it, the two orbs were upon him and they were fast. They also became bigger.

Taiga didn't want to show his hand just yet, be it his tailwind or his other abilities, so he instead decided to rely on the Emperor's chest piece. When the balls would go to nibble, Taiga would make sure to position himself so that they struck the plate, and on their first bites, they would suddenly find massive amounts of sankaton leaching off the plate and onto them. (Up to 4x4x4 meter objects can be destroyed).

He would still make sure to quickly move back and out of the way- using just the slightest moment of contact as his means to pass the Sankaton to the orbs before getting out of the way and keeping his distance. The balls would be eaten by the rust, only to soon be reduced to nothing. This was the might of Konoha's super release. Sankaton. It devoured all things- even the devourers.

Taiga would, from his recovered position peer out to the opponent. It would seem he would do well to keep his distance in this battle.

[Composite Assimilation]
B-Rank Stance Taijutsu
After making contact with an eligible piece of solid matter, Taiga will utilize his Genma abilities to assimilate multiple materials at once, or add more materials to his current assimilation, allowing his body to become a composite of the multiple materials at once. After assimilation he is able to "phase through" or "merge through" objects matching the materials he has assimilated. This technique must be used with a discipline for the appropriate material he is merging with.

Prerequisite: 50 Willpower, [Perception]
With immense willpower and perception skills, Taiga has trained himself to be one with his environment much like birds of prey. Able to keep his focus in all situations with great pose he is cognizant of subtle details around him, capable of honing in on the slightest changes of air or even the smallest movements in the fibers of an opponents clothes, allowing him to pick up on their movement and predict it before it is complete. This can also be used outside of combat for lip reading, or even guessing what someone writes by watching the eraser of the pencil etc. This causes him to seem rather ADD at times as his eyes rapidly tracking movements around him. A downfall to this technique however is that while his eyes and brain may be aware of movement, his body is not always capable of knowing and keeping up. Meaning he has to be physically capable still of responding to threats or capitalizing on weaknesses, even if he perceives them.

'What was that?' He'd experienced the super release and highly guarded secret elemental ninjutsu of Konoha before, before this time it was different as his chakra viewing eyes could see that the it seemed to originate not from the man but the armor he wore. It was strange and left him partially puzzled and it happened so far that he wasn't able to pull back his own two orbs as they would smash directly into the mass of devouring red mist that caused them to rapidly rush and their chakra receivers to be damaged sending the balls of scrap metal swerving off to either side. 'Sankaton...this will be more dangerous.' There was also a small moment where he thought the fighter's body seemed to glisten almost as though it had been turned to metal for a moment, at least his arms in this cause.

It left Xi with a lot of questions with no real answers about this guy, who had managed to destroy two of his limited number orbs in their first exchange, perhaps he was still to young to be fighting against these experienced shinobi in this international tournament having just being promoted to the rank of jounin recently. But he had learned at least one thing, the armor the man wore was rather special and he wouldn't be able to simply smash his way to victory with brute force methods against a foe like this. "Taiga-san, you're an interesting fellow." One hand scratched the back of his head as he replied back out to the enemy, two more orbs floated out but remained their tiny baseball like size as he leaped leaped upwards slightly and the one meter orb to his right moved backwards as he landed gently upon its firm surface.

Two eyes were re-added to the field as the two small orbs opened their golden, mechanical looking eye allowing all four of the eyes to peer upon Taiga. Perhaps another approach would be better as the two little orbs shot forth at the same speed as the previous two, seemingly intent on doing the exact same thing as the first time. Yet they wouldn't advance over halfway to the man as the left orb, from the Konoha-nin's point of view, would open its mouth revealing a glow of raw chakra as a stream of chakra based senbon sprayed forth at high speed (40 control). The man's movement from before seemed fast and fluid, but Xi still needed to judge just what kind of physical abilities the shinobi had and using a wide area of effect attack like the Needle Attack seemed to be the best fit in this case. All eyes were on Taiga for what would happen next...

Soul Orb: Exploding Needle Attack Command

Forming a set of hand seals the user focuses on one of their soul orbs, causing that orb to open its mouth to start spraying a cloud of senbon sized chakra needles in a single direction at [Control] Speed and Strength. This cloud goes 25 meters from the point of origin, while also being 10 meters in width over the course of one post.

OOC: Yaaas, it's my absolute favourite cause it just gives you such good utility to RP how you want.

It seemed Sankaton and his decision to let the orbs bite him had caught his opponent off guard. He doubted his opponent would let it happen again, and this time, the fact he kept his orbs at a distance tipped off to Taiga that his orbs must be consumables. If he ran out of orbs, he'd be out of the fight. The question was, however, just how many orbs did he have? To Taiga, this made it seem that the strategy of wasting through all the orbs would be a poor one.

Just how exactly will I take care of this guy.

The Konoha Bannin bowed his head to Xi's remarks. "And you too, young Xi. I can already tell you are an incredible shinobi." Taiga was normally quite rude to his opponents, but Xi had been respectful to him and also made it clear that for his age he was a strong shinobi. Still, this kind of respect was a bit too off-brand for the big-mouthed Konohagakure jinch.

"Unfortunately, I cannot let you win this time."

In an attempt not to let his full speed or power be shown, he would use the chest piece again, this time emitting a "pushing" Jikiton wave (35 control) that while not quite as strong as the senbon, where enough to let him move at a similar speed to dodge without showing his full power. From his new position he would do a quick set of seals then channel chakra into his foot before striking it down into the ground and releasing his technique.

He would wait to see what happened next, but would be read for the moment Xi lost footing to close the gap at full speed and go for an attack.

After phasing a body part into a source of material (usually the ground) and channeling into it Taiga will tap into the power of the Earth Genma and release a massive volatile burst of his chakra. This chakra causes the surface of any material he is phased into to shake violently in a 25-meter radius with Taiga at the epicenter. This lasts for up to 3 posts if not released. During this period opponents with less [Endurance] than Taiga's [Control] will be unable to balance their body, preventing movement and knocking them to the ground. Those very weak are generally thrown around like a rag doll while those with an equal Endurance find themselves just barely able to move. Of course those with greater Endurance than Taiga's [Control] can adequately control their body allowing them to move as per usual.

To the young shinobi's response, a respectful nod in Taiga's direction was the answer from him...both young men about the same age able to connect during conflict to show their strength. "Heh, let find out." A simple statement came from Xi, there wasn't any hint of cockiness or the such, but the tone of one fighter wishing to fight with another just to see who was strong. Nothing about what side they were on or malice, just pure competition and it was something that the young Iwa man hadn't had in quite some time due to the state of the world and the Great War. It kind of felt nice?

'That chest piece again?' From the view of his chakra eyes he was able to see that this time another part of the armor lit up with chakra, just what kind of armor or weapon was this guy wearing? It's ability were incredible which meant its wearing was definitely some sort of phenomenal shinobi as well, no weakling would ever be able to acquire something like that and be able to hold on to it for long. A light hearted smile was on the man's lips as his orbs attacked to find themselves slowed just slightly by the repulsive force created by the wave of Jikiton that pushed out from the special unseen orb in the armor. It was a puzzling thing but each attack or action seemed to allow a little bit more to be revealed about the Konoha nin. This time he would mix things up but not before the young man stomped the ground and tremors would push outward shaking the ground violently.

Normally the man would have been in trouble as he hadn't predicted that the small stop would have been enough to create this earthquake like effect and to deal with it as he fell to one side he controlled one orb to move beside him as he fell onto it now before the orb shot up into the air with the other guarding orb to about five meters above the shaking arena. Sankanton, Body shifting, High level of observation skills, that strange armor...how many skills did this man have at his disposal. It was like trying to fight a swiss army knife as he recovered with the orb rolling to allow him to be seated atop the orb now as one of the two closest orbs to Taiga's position shot towards him as it glowed with bright blue chakra around its center line that separated the top and bottom halves of the orb with its glowing yellow eye tracking the man's chakra signature.

'Death Shuriken!' From the center line of the orb ten meter curved blades resembling those found on fuuma style shuriken came spinning outwards (35 speed and strength) as the orb attempted to continuously pursue the man with its spinning chakra blades as the orb moved around faster than the blades were spinning (40 speed). He needed to see if he could pressure the man into a mistake or at least get more of a glimpse of what his true strength was as Xi felt like the young man was hiding a lot of it at the moment...

Soul Orb: Death Shuriken

After performing hand seals, each orb under the user's control will gain a set of four one meter curved blades of chakra that extend out to twenty five meters in length possessing a strength of [Control], the blades rapidly turning around the orb, giving them the appearance of spinning shuriken as the blades rotate around the soul orbs at a speed of [Control]. These shuriken blades last for the next six posts.

[Taiga]

At his current speed, the young man losing his footing and even falling momentarily was all he needed to leap bounds across the field and close any gaps, and while doing so smoke would form around his body obscuring his head as black smoke formed on his back. It would seem as if suddenly a second burst of speed came as if Taiga was a car kicking into a new gear as he rocketed forward, his hands beginning to seal. Regardless of this, while he would get in close range, the man would still have recovered by then, now floating upon some orb.

As his opponents hands would begin to seal, Taiga too would begin his own set of seals as he rushed forward, right into the path of the defending orbs, only to suddenly disappear as he dropped into the ground. With any luck, the orbs that were following him continuously and their wielder would be caught off guard, and the orbs would hopefully smack into the ground. He was showing his trump card; and it was not something he wanted to do, but he felt it was better to end this quickly.

If the young man was even able to track his movements, he was surely perplexed at what had just happened, and by now probably in shock as a he would likely now be feeling hands grip him and squeeze him at an immense [50] strength. It would be very painful indeed, and also make what came next all the easier.

Taiga would pop out of the ground behind the man as wings began to sprout from his back. Likewise, the orbs on his back would shift as one would turn bright yellow, lightning cackling on his chest. He was aiming to shoulder slam/body slam right into Xi, with a goal of delivering a paralyzing jolt of electricity, the full force of his momentum, strength, weight (being mostly earth and metal), and adding to it, the tailwind he had been keeping on himself this whole time would be released off the hit, adding a cutting and battering wind. His wings would be ready to carry him, adjust him, or do whatever they needed to make his strike hit.

Man, I get the feeling he's more blue than me, and if I need to go all out, right out the gates, it just shows how strong he is. This kid might just be the Tsuchikage someday.

After the required hand seals, Taiga will phase into the ground. Any targets who see this will suddenly feel the ground beneath them shake lightly and see two hands reach up and grab their feet. These hands will exert [Willpower] strength, the effected feeling all the pain that would go with this and the inability to move. This technique lasts for 4 posts. If the targets [Strength] is greater than 10 they can attempt to break out and do so successfully.

The only limit to the speed of which Taiga control his body, via rapid acceleration or assimilation, is the speed in which his mind can physically send the impulse to his body to do so. With Taiga's high body control, he has trained and honed his mind and body to be as one, capable of reacting near the speed of thought in terms of controlling himself. This allows him to create interesting attacks by rapidly changing his movement patterns while fighting.

'Doton?' Xi briefly caught the hand seals made by the Konoha nin after he appeared from the smoke directly in the path of his orb, the orb that had turned into a deadly chakra shuriken attempting to cleave the fellow man in half, both from his own point of view and that of the golden eye of his orbs which had inadvertently landed him within the trigger for his Genjutsu though at the moment Xi was none the wiser to such as his opponent fell into the earth. Highly familiar with such doton style techniques he assumed that the next attack would come from directly underneath him but felt assured due to his five meter height above the arena floor that he would have the upper hand if this was the man's course of action. But he had not expected a Genjutsu from the man and two arms stretched far past the normal range as they grasped him by the ankles with such immense strength that it made him cry out in pain momentarily "Ahh..." just as the spinning orb slashed into ground and spun off towards the thick arena wall out of the man's control briefly.

'Underneath...fuck off!' There was only one thought in the man's mind, that he was being attacked from underneath and completely failed to consider that it could even be an illusion due to his junior level of experience. His response was not to run away but to simply crush someone who wanted to attack him from below as all his chakra was funneled into the orb that he was standing upon causing it to rapidly increase in size from one to six meters in diameter as it fell down upon where the hands had reached up from the ground to grasp him. This did two things: the first was moving the man himself with more than ten strength which would break him free of the illusion of force and secondly Taiga would pop up through the ground finding himself face-to-face with the six meter orb falling down at Xi's full control (50 speed and strength) literally attempting to crush the man. How the strange spirit host decided to deal with that would of course be interesting...


[OOC: He literally just had his orb increase in size as it accelerated to the ground to meet Taiga coming out, chasing after the 'hands' from the illusion. Kind of interrupted the last part of your post. ]

I also think we have rules against standing on something then using ninjutsu to make it super fast/strong etc. So I don't think you can give yourself 50 speed/strength by riding an orb

Its greater than 10, which is x > 10. 10 would fail that statement.

Also I'd refer to onu or someone, but thats rule has been around since forever, like pre 2014. We had people like purewillpower making "chakra wheelchairs" that let him move 50 speed. We had similar rules on pets after I and others started abusing stat dumping in RPC and putting it into characters.

If anything, I might be too "old" on that, and it might of been wiped away

"The strength required to break out of the illusion is equal to the requirements to perform the kai for the genjutsu. For example, a C-rank genjutsu requires 10 in control to perform kai, meaning it would only take 10 strength to break out of. S-rank jutsu can have additional requirements to perform, to have higher strength requirements."
That rule would supercede how Taiga's genjutsu is written, as there isn't anything about the jutsu that should allow it to bypass the rule. That was likely just an oversight by the staff.

As far as flight, Hayate is correct that you are limited by your own speed stat when using a companion or jutsu as a mount, which this situation would suffice to meet that requirement. So while you are on the orb, you cannot move faster than 10 speed.

"Jutsu that allow flight while maintaining the characters full abilities are A-rank, cannot go above 30m, and are capped at the speed stat, regardless of the mechanism that allows flight. Lower ranked flight jutsu can be used at the sacrifice of stats, focus, and so forth."
Albeit this is technically an ability, not a jutsu, this rule still is to be followed.)

As far as flight, Hayate is correct that you are limited by your own speed stat when using a companion or jutsu as a mount, which this situation would suffice to meet that requirement. So while you are on the orb, you cannot move faster than 10 speed.

His speed is 45 not 10, so I'm not picking up what you're putting down about not being able to move faster than 10 speed?
