Exhibition: Taiga vs Proximus

Post by Ace Trainer » Tue Aug 10, 2021 12:29 pm

The arena has a 25m radius and is mostly comprised of grass land, trees to provide some shelter and texture to the battlefield. However, 5m from the wall surrounding the entire arena is sandy terrain. The arena is marked by a 20m high wall that is built in the shape of a doughnut, the seats are layered with ten rows running along the whole perimeter of the arena. There is a tower that is supported by pillars and columns above the northers side of the stadium, this is where the representatives of other nations are seated. The participants have the own place to wait until their turn, it is at the bottom section of the wall surrounding the battlefield and has a viewing window that allows the participants to watch fighting that take place. Taiga will begin at the eastern most point, standing directly in front of the sand. Proximus will begin at the western most point, standing directly in front of the sand.

The judges for this bout will be Nu, Sha, and Ji (all judges will be controlled by Onu sicne he's not participating in this event and it will expedite the process (maybe))

First poster has 72 hours to respond, all following posts have 48 hours, with one [1] extension granted upon request. Please ensure you're familiar with the rules for the event. If you're currently in registry, the 72 hours begins once both participants have been approved.

Taiga posts first.

Exhibition: Taiga vs Proximus

Post by Taiga » Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:33 am

Taiga began to move, drifting around the edges, building up his tailwind.

The fuck is a proximus? he'd say, visible puffs of smoke escaping his lips as he began to form hand seals. Seriously what does that mean? he'd say again, this time as smoke escaped his lips, he'd add a little more oomph to it. All the while, beyond his Genjutsu, he'd have his eyes and senses peeled.
USEDShow
[Genjutsu • Smoke Screen]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After the appropriate hand seals, Taiga will let out a large breathe of smoke due to his genma. Anyone who sees this peculiar smoke will be trapped in his illusion and see the area round them fill with smoke for the next 5 posts. This smoke limits their vision to a 4 meter radius around them. Because this is a genjutsu and no smoke is actually there, attempts to remove the smoke will ultimately fail.

Passive Stuffs:
Konoha no Senken • The Monkey Sees
B-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Humans follow patterns and in combat this is no exception, ranging from taijutsu to hand seals. Patterns already being easier to remember, Taiga has worked hard at actively committing whatever he sees to his short-term memory. This allows him to remember things such as the beginning torque to a kick or a hand seal pattern after seeing it once, so that he can recognize the technique if used later in a battle, giving him an advantage in anticipating his opponents next action and effectively making an opponent’s consecutive usage of a technique a liability.

Flying Swallow • Birds of Prey
S-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Prerequisite: 50 Willpower, [Perception]
With immense willpower and perception skills, Taiga has trained himself to be one with his environment much like birds of prey. Able to keep his focus in all situations with great pose he is cognizant of subtle details around him, capable of honing in on the slightest changes of air or even the smallest movements in the fibers of an opponents clothes, allowing him to pick up on their movement and predict it before it is complete. This can also be used outside of combat for lip reading, or even guessing what someone writes by watching the eraser of the pencil etc. This causes him to seem rather ADD at times as his eyes rapidly tracking movements around him. A downfall to this technique however is that while his eyes and brain may be aware of movement, his body is not always capable of knowing and keeping up. Meaning he has to be physically capable still of responding to threats or capitalizing on weaknesses, even if he perceives them.

Konoha no Senken • Tailwind
B-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
Required: [Heavenly Body Control]
The Flying Swallow Style developed by the Sarutobi family is a NinTai style. To circumvent the need for ninjutsu in Konoha no Senken, practitioners instead use their own explosive movements to bend the wind around their body and create a powerful tailwind behind them. While they move, this tail wind violently circulates around their body, building up pressure. Each post the the user is consecutively moving forward at a minimum of [Speed]/2, the wind gains [Speed]/2 strength. It can be used as a shield to protect the user, or through the use of another technique can be released. The maximum amount of times the technique can gain speed is 2 times. If the user stops moving or drops below [Speed/2] for more than a post the wind dissipates.

Exhibition: Taiga vs Proximus

Post by Golnax » Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:39 pm

Between his bout with the genin and now, Proximus had been healed up fully... well, almost. New scars, red and irritated, were present on his body from where he had been injured earlier, left on purpose of course. The samurai guards were quick to remind him that he had, more or less, crossed the line already but would be made to continue his exhibition matches as scheduled before being taken away forever. So he still had some time in the sun, if only to fight in combat. Something else that had been stressed to him was that what he would face next was not some inexperienced genin, but instead highly trained shinobi. He was thus subsequently told that the need to hold back was much less important. Fine by him.

As he was brought out to the arena and relieved of his chains, he would look on as his opponent breathed smoke and began to move along the edges of the arena. Much to Proximus' surprise though, before his very eyes the arena would appear to fill up with smoke so dense and thick that he could only see for a few short meters in front of him. Shinobi trickery at its' finest! Given his lack of knowledge on his opponent and not being able to see more than four meters away from him, Proximus chose to square up, planting his kite shield in front of him, hunching down, pulling his buckler back and turning his head from side to side and wait for his opponent to attack him. An assault would come, he knew this to be true, it was just a question of when. Even through all this smoke, his visibility wasn't zero. He would see the attack coming and be able to react to it as necessary.

His eyes watched his opponent tightly as he saw the giant shield come out and the man took a defensive stance. From his current positioning, he could not be seen, but as he got closer he'd give away his position. He'd have to be crafty to get by that shield. And beyond that, this whole thing was sickening. Was this not a slave he was fighting? Using people for shit like this was gross. Deciding to end things quick for the dignity of the other man, he would quit his circling and now go in for the attack.

A full face/head iron mask, eh?

His body became a composite of flesh, steal, stone, as he rushed forward full charge for the man- then at the last moment before being visible- perhaps at least more than a whispy shadow, he would drop straight into the ground, phasing into it and moving free of resistance as he began to twirl his palms while continuing forward, only to dive up out of the ground behind the man.

The smoke, the attack from a blind spot- and the fact that iron mask definitely limited his peripheral vision, hearing, and likely more, meant that this was the quickest route to end things.

As Taiga came out of the ground the ball of swirling energy would truly start to form on his hand, and before impact the Tailwind he had built up would also join the ball, adding an extremely potent force.

This is my rasengan.

[Composite Assimilation]
B-Rank Stance Taijutsu
After making contact with an eligible piece of solid matter, Taiga will utilize his Genma abilities to assimilate multiple materials at once, or add more materials to his current assimilation, allowing his body to become a composite of the multiple materials at once. After assimilation he is able to "phase through" or "merge through" objects matching the materials he has assimilated. This technique must be used with a discipline for the appropriate material he is merging with.

Flying Swallow • Birds of Prey

Konoha no Senken • Taiga no Rasengan
A-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
Required: [Heavenly Body Control]
After seeing Fanho use the legendary Rasengan, Taiga combined what he saw with his training in heavenly taijutsu from Sunagakure's monk bannin to create his own unique taijutsu-based version. By holding out one palm, Taiga will rotate his other hand around the open palm at super-human level speeds. This will cause a small tornado to form in the palm of his hand. Continuing on a little while longer will cause the tornado to stabilize into a spinning, spherical disc of air in his palm, roughly 1 foot in diameter. When slammed into a target, this spherical disc of air releases it's force outward from his palm at a strength equal to Taiga's [Speed]. The end effect is a jarring hit to the opponent which not only causes intense physical damage, but if more powerful than the opponent, will send them spiraling through the air for 5 meters for every point of strength difference. If a post passes with Taiga not continuing to spin the sphere, it will fade.

Additional Effect: If Taiga has a fully charged Tailwind he can release that energy along with the sphere, adding to it's strength and also allowing it to release slicing winds into the opponent, leaving a myriad of shallow bruises and cuts all over an opponent. While these cuts are weak, the sheer number of them can lead to a decent loss of blood if untreated.

Exhibition: Taiga vs Proximus

Naturally Proximus didn't see his opponent coming. What with all the fog and the angle from which the attack came and his lack of training, it would be flat out impossible for him to have seen the assault on his person coming. Subsequently, the giant of a man was struck two fold with the jutsu and the wind that followed, forcing his huge, lanky body forward into his kite shield! His body was cut and bruised in several places at once! Old wounds were reopened and a billow of wind went throughout the arena!

Yet Proximus did not fall. And the fog was gone now.

With frightening speed and power (50 Strength & Speed) Proximus would counter attack, turning his body and lashing out at his assaulter directly behind him with his buckler, intending to smash it into the body of Taiga and smash him into the arena wall behind. If this strike were successful he would follow up by continuing to turn his body, lifting his kite shield, and rushing forward with the same force and ram himself, shield first, into the wall in an attempt to pin Taiga in place and ram him further into the wall, the subsequent impact being powerful enough to shake the entire arena!

It was a question now of whether or not Taiga was anticipating a counter attack of his magnitude so quickly and with his foe seemingly shrugging off the pain his already mangled body was being put under or not.

Taiga wasn7t surprised when his Rasengan, and his tailwind, landed tearing up and throwing Proximus back. He also wasn't surprised so much as deeply moved when the man's shield was used to keep him from flying, it anchoring him into the ground. That was quick thinking, and that was the kind of thinking Taiga respected above all else. Fluidity. Adaptability on ones feet. This man was more than a slave- he had the heart of a true warrior. Given his astounding perception and keen watch, he wasn't surprised by his counter tack to follow. The fibers of his muscles, the moving of ligaments beneath his skin like little snakes or worms moving were all signs to him, and, he himself was insanely fast, easily a match for the man who regardless of his attack was doing so after being injured and likely had some lingering of that.

It was here that Taiga would use the ultimate move bestowed upon him by the earth genma. Having already assimilated with metal, earth, and flesh, he was a composite capable of phasing the mans attack completely- and in case there was any doubt he was ready to take on the substances of the shield or man the moment it even grazed him- the moment their molecules even touched before even the human eye or skin would know it.

The man and his attack, and his whole forward momentum would send him hurtling through Taiga as if he was a ghost and likey into the ground or wall. This would not be without a gift however- the Emperors cuirass would glow golden as cackling bolts of lightning ripped off (35 control) releasing electricity that caused diffuse paralysis into Proximus.

As Taiga skirted to the side he would put a bit of distance between them before calling out. The lightning was pulling punches- should he had chose sankaton it would have been much worse.

"Tell me, Proximus. Why is it you fight to entertain those who are your captors like a beast? What do you gain?"

Assumedly Proximus was now suffering paralysis, injuries, and was not able to see exactly where Taiga was. This kind of had a poor effect however in that... Taiga couldn't really use any Genjutsu now, since well, Proximus couldn't see him.

Of course Proximus had no way of anticipating the abilities of his opponent. He followed through with his strikes and the Genma host passed right through him, leaving him facing the wall as paralysis overcame him. Lightning racked his body and his muscles seized up as he was facing the wall, one arm extended. The paralysis was not complete, though, and Taiga seemed to know it. The surprise came when, instead of lashing out against the masked giant, the young shinobi chose to speak to him instead.

This gave Proximus pause who stood, twitching, in silence for a few moments while he considered answering. Should he answer? Would it matter if he didn't? If he did? Finally, though, the giant did speak.

"...Imagine a dark room. A room with no windows and so many doors leading in, not out, that no one other than you knows the exact number. A room where sound cannot escape no matter how loud you scream, where no one can feel your presence no matter how hard you beat on the walls, where you can't break out no matter how strong you are. Imagine being moved from place to place with only this room as a constant. Imagine having contact with only one person, one person who does not speak to you, who comes in to make sure you have not died and to feed you. Imagine not having a face. Imagine not having a name..."

Proximus groaned and forced his head to turn ever so slightly, enough that he could just make out Taiga from the corner of his eye - not clearly, but well enough to know that it was his opponent he was speaking to. "I do this to feel the sun, to have contact with someone other than my jailer, to feel something other than isolation and powerlessness. I will do this for as long as I am allowed to or until I die. This paralysis will not last forever, and when it ends, I will attack you again, and I will keep attacking you until I am unable to any longer. I suggest you either prepare yourself, or end me quickly before I can move again. You cannot possibly imagine how preferable a fight to the death is compared to that loneliness, so either end this now or wait for me to move and end it myself!"

As the last words were leaving his lips, the sound of his voice hollow and tinny because of the mask, Proximus' body began to turn along with his head. It was agonizingly slow and could hardly be called proper control against all of the jerking that the paralysis was causing, but he was attempting to move through the paralysis through sheer force of will alone! This act alone should have proved the seriousness of his words and the commitment to what he said. He would fight until either he could not any more, or Taiga could not.

Taiga bit his lip as smoke filled the area in masses never before. His hands sealed as he created a clone. He was going to do some sleight of hand here- the clone phased into his body, almost in perfect tandem so that the two would seem to anyone not immediately close to him, as one. Before long smoke filled the area revealing the Genma- in all of it's massive grandeur. The trick was, the Genma was a clone utilizing the transformation technique. Taiga was just hiding inside of him at this point- and would slip into the earth beneath its feet, and do more seals.

Winning didn't seem so sweet anymore. And sometimes you had to make a decision about what kind of man you wanted to be. Today, Taiga decided he would be one that would at the very least give someone an experience more memorable than they had ever had in his life. The Genma opened it's wings once with powerful gusts of wind kicking up sand and dirt, then in one mighty move slam its "fist" down over the man, its arm extending all the way out.

Taiga wouldn't miss a beat, and he would come out the ground and phase through the man triggering a powerful genjutsu in the process, pausing only to slit his hand and splatter blood all over the ground.

If the paralysis wasn't going to completely hold him, along with some pacification, he would find himself rather peaceful. Should this have been a real battle, from this point on Taiga would be able to do whatever he wanted for a period of time, however, this wasn't a real battle- and unlike this fun playtime for him, this was real for this man.

The clone in place lifted its hand revealing the dent, junk, and blood. No one would care if a slave was killed, especially not one there for just "fun" and "amusement". He'd served his purpose.

Taiga would pull him deep into the ground with him, and he would run, dragging the man far out of the arena to a nearby field, to freedom, where he'd come up out of the dirt and then drop him. Taking a deep breath he would slip his hand into the mask, manipulating it enough to break it off.

"Maybe you only have a few hours or two, maybe they really won't search for you. Either way it's on me that I did this."

Proximus was unable to see what happened next clearly, partly because of the paralysis and partially because of the smoke. What he did see out of the corner of his eye was like something out of some sort of lovecraftian nightmare and the screams of the audience members attested to this. It wasn't until Taiga had made his move and things were in motion that the giant of the man had any kind of grasp on what was happening. They were outside of the arena now, the paralysis was subsiding and of course, his mask was broken... revealing only another mask underneath. Of sorts. Proximus' hair had grown long and forced itself down completely over his face to the point where only his eyes were anywhere close to visible. Combined with the facial hair that also grew and his face was actually indistinguishable, even without the mask. His hair was brown in color.

As Taiga spoke, Proximus looked at him and... was silent. He didn't move and, after the shinobi had finished speaking, he merely turned his back on Taiga, dropped down to his knees, laid down with his face against the dirt and pulled his hands up to the back of his head. A moment later, the samurai who were guarding him were there in a flash! Swords drawn! Surrounding the both of them! They quickly took a look at the situation as it was and moved to step between Taiga and Proximus, two of the samurai producing chains to place on the man while a third pulled out a makeshift black bag that immediately went over the gnarled giants' head.

"I suppose you thought that was terribly clever," one of the samurai said, stepping forward to face Taiga. "But we know where this man is at all times and if he's alive; his sins will not go unpunished so easily! This is not the first time that an escape attempt has been made, though it is perhaps the first time someone other than him tried it! He learned a long time ago there's no use in trying to escape from his fate. He will die only when he is allowed and he will never be free! This man is a prisoner, not a slave! I suggest you return to the arena and forget about this man like the rest of the world."

To illustrate that this was a threat rather than a suggestion, the samurai coated his blade in a magenta chakra; tenkujutsu. Exactly who these samurai were seemed to be just as much of a mystery as who their captive was for them to have techniques at their disposal for combating Genma hosts! All the same, Proximus would be picked up from the ground and dragged off. He did not put up a fight. Even without the aid of Taiga's genjutsu, he wouldn't have.

The fight was finished, and Proximus was robbed of the sunlight he desired by the attempts of a would-be helper who, in the end, only hastened his reincarceration.

"He was going back in holding either way... was worth a shot." Taiga said with a shrug as he turned from Proximus' mysterious guards- who just like him appeared from no where, however, were even more frightening in the sheer power they had- enough to somehow even know ninja arts as samurai. Meh. Had been worth the try.

It would seem that Taiga could have his cake, in victory, but he would not get to eat it, as his victory meant nothing for the slave- no, the human being on the other side of him. He'd double back to the stadium, where his clone would then dip into the ground once more, then he, the real him would burst out.

I guess killing Proximus would have been more merciful in this sick twisted world.

Ji would frown, his brow coming together, and turn to Sha who had stood to announce the winner. He would mutter something under his breath, quite unhappy, resulting in Sha and Nu leaning down over to him to mutter something back, both clearly disagreeing with him. Ji, looking rather displeased, would nod seemingly relenting to them both, before Sha would stand completely, "Taiga wins, points to Konoha."
