Chiaki had gone through the trouble of coming to the festival ahead of time, and had made sure that the butterflies were all around her to ensure that the place was well cordoned off from any of her enemies. Not that she felt like any of them would be around, but she didn’t exactly want to get noodles with anyone that was more willing to stick a knife in her than say hello.

She had decided, for the betterment of herself and those around her that she would take the advice of Shuichi and change her appearance, her gait, and everything else about her. The only one in the world that knew about her tabemono Iijutsu, so far, was Shinjiro of the village hidden in the mist.

She tied an apron around her waist, it was a bit bigger than hers used to be, the red hair was a dark purple, and the butterflies all around the area permeated the scene so that it looked like they were more a part of the area than they were a part of her. She had decided that she would be using ingredients from around the area, which meant that she actually had a lot to work with. Because there were vendors from all around the other countries, she was not without a place to work, nor ingredients to add to her various soups, dishes, and other sorts. She set out the menu for all of the people, shinobi or otherwise, to come and taste on the tables, and had hired two able-bodied lads.

The place was called ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ as she wanted to do this for the festival, but also wanted to see the sights. It was a place that could be rented, and had a karaoke or dance floor that was raised above the rest of the restaurant, already ready to play music or sing, or dance, and the tables were set so that there was a candle in the middle, with 4 chairs around them. They were square, so they could be pushed together for larger parties, but she knew that most shinobi who would be participating in the activities were probably only surrounded by two to three close people. She, herself, only had a hand full of people that she truly trusted.

Checking her appearance in the mirror, she smiled and winked at herself. She was a purple-haired woman, larger in the bust than Chiaki Kyoukan, she was five foot two, very short, she was prepared to make any meal for the customer, and she was wearing her necklace on her person which hid her potential as a ninjutsu user, not that anyone should be checking. She had heard that the samurai were out in force, enforcing the rules of the festival, which was to not start trouble anywhere within the land of pebbles. She could finally relax and do what she wanted to do for a hobby, which was make food for others.

She waved a hand at the lad, “switch the restaurant sign to open, and get ready for hungry customers.” She nodded at him, winking one amber eye. She moved away from the mirror, the shorter, purple haired, amber eyed Chiaki wasn’t who she had been in Kumogakure, now the look fit the kunoichi. Still, she couldn’t help but feel like she missed the days where she was getting ramen with Konoha ninja, where she rubbed shoulders with Suna people, where she tended the wounds of Kumogakure people, where she laughed with Kiri people. Iwa wasn’t even on her map in those days.

Simpler times.

She waved a hand over the beans she was working with in an intricate set of hand seals. The seals were to make what were called, “Senzu Beans”. Apparently they were what hermits would eat when they were out in the wilderness, and they were famed to be able to satiate someone’s hunger with just one. She had a challenge to anyone who could eat an entire bowl of Senzu Bean soup, as they usually would fill up with just one. She wondered whether anyone would take the challenge, and it was a fun experiment for her. As she touched each bean, and wove more hand seals, the beans glowed a green color before becoming just regular in appearance again. She did this with all sorts of beans, from Azduki to Urad beans, she continued making these beans until there were seven in each helping of the seven senzu bean soup. Her jutsu tenderized the beans to perfection, and then each of the beans went into a jar, waiting to be added to the soup later on. The added effects of the jutsu that she had cast and the jutsu which was to come would make it so that anyone eating it would probably give up halfway through, but would feel all of their worldly aches and pains melt away. The dish of Seven Senzu Bean Soup was a whopping 1000 ryo, but it was free to anyone who could eat an entire bowl.

The other menu items were priced based on their complication and portion sizes, and the guests were encouraged to ask for new dishes for Chiaki to make. She had brought, after all, from her personal realm, books on how to cook from all of the countries she had visited, and some that she hadn’t had been acquired from the libraries therein.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will be able to change every detail of their Silicne E-body, right down to the chakra signature. It is an extremely advanced Transformation technique, and remains until the user uses this jutsu to rearrange themselves again. This jutsu is able to make the user any dimensions that they want, provided they are no larger than 15x15x15 meters, and no smaller than 0.5mx0.5mx0.5m. The core of the user remains the same size, so the smaller the transformation, the bigger (by proportion) the core. The user is able to change their shape into animal forms, but has no provided bonuses associated with the transformation, however if they do not have hands, they cannot perform hand seals. This technique does allow flight, per the flight rules. This transformation does not ‘poof’ out of existence with any damage to the user, and is considered altering self.

Aisu Naohiro strode with apparent leisure through the streets of the city, indulging in curiosities for a few hours before the festival truly got underway. As a child he'd been enamoured with the idea of travelling the world; he'd always wanted to see it all, experience all manner of other cultures, try exotic foods, and meet strange new people. Nowadays he had the freedom to exercise such desires, but rarely the time. Such was the curse of responsibility. Always there were more pressing demands, the next one ever more important than the last. Even taking a break to attend this festival seemed frivolous given the recent situation in Water Country, but his aides had insisted. Quite likely they just needed a break as well. And he was only human.

For once, given the apparent safety precautions of the festival, he was not wearing the legendary cloak Desire. He'd grown so accustomed to it that its lack now made him feel exposed, for all that he was otherwise dressed in finery enough to make any of his kinsmen proud. He wore a brand new haori in the white-blue hue of a cool winter sky, and his hair was secured in a bun by a matching clip, beyond which it flowed freely down his back. He certainly drew a few eyes, walking through the building crowds with a confident walk that suggested he owned the place. Most people who strode around looking like this would be a ripe target for a pickpocket or a quick back-alley mugging, but not he. The people here didn't need a visible headband to read the readiness in his gait, the calm, almost dismissive danger of a man who appeared otherwise wholly at ease. They did not dawdle in his path.

He channeled very faintly as he walked, searching the neighbourhood around him, as he'd been doing so for the last half hour or so already. This festival, protected by the infamous Pebble samurai peacekeepers, was a melting pot of people from the world over—and that included other shinobi like himself. So while he was here, he'd decided to refine his sensory talents, identifying and locating other powerful persons in attendance before they ever saw him. He reached out with his mind's eye, scanning the crowds and buildings ahead on every street, and trying to maintain focus on as many of them as possible. So far, no significant chakra sources stood out to him; either the area didn't have any skilled ninja, or his senses weren't yet refined enough to find them.

After a time, he paused outside a restaurant, then ducked inside on a whim. It seemed quiet inside, with only a few very small chakra sources within—just commoners, not ninja—and so he decided to grab a quiet bite to eat before the main festivities drew his attention elsewhere.

"Good morning," he offered a polite half-bow from the door and greeted the staff within, then stepped over to a vacant table. When someone came to take his order, he'd simply smile and ask for whatever the chef recommended. He was here to try new things, after all. All the while, he continued to reach his senses out into the street beyond, watching and waiting for any interesting passers-by. While waiting, he tried to mute out some of the smaller sensory readings, identifying the weakest chakra sources around and slowly filtering them out of his mind's eye. Continuing to do so eased the mental strain of maintaining the sensory considerably, and soon he'd worked out just how to focus his senses only in particular areas, or of chakra sources of a particular strength...

With this technique the user can sense their local area without so much build up or concentration, and are able to pinpoint precise chakra locations at ranges of up to 70 meters away, and can approximate the size of chakra source to the nearest 10 chakra pool. The user is able to filter their senses to isolate particular sources or sources only of particular sizes, or in specific directions or ranges. Chiaki saw a man walk through the doorway, with skin the color of some of her better porcelain dishes. She recognized an Aisu when she saw one, having spent a little bit of time in Kiri training with the Genin and seeing the sights at the behest of Shinjiro, one of the Seven Swordsman. She wondered what brought him in here, but she shrugged. It took all types to make a festival and it was safe enough in her establishment too. She just hoped that he wouldn't make all the food run cold if he were slighted in any way.

"Go take the man's order." She scooted the boy over to the table with a swat towards his back end. He gave her a sulk, and ran up to the table. He wasn't fourteen yet, and had a bit of a lisp when he talked. Chiaki had picked him out because he was rather ordinary in all other regards, ordinary brown hair, ordinary tanned skin from working out in the sun, and ordinary brown eyes. The other lad that was working for her was a stark contrast. He was also around the other child's age, but he was a modern Adonis with platinum blonde hair, a dark skin color, the color of dark coffee, and piercing blue eyes. He had muscles on his muscles, and she suspected that, like her, he was here to take a load off of the hard work by occupying himself. It was also good for them, as Chiaki had promised to split proceeds three ways. She was shouldering the upfront cost, but at the end of the night, when the restaurant would close forever, they would get an equal share.

She was surprised that more people hadn't taken her up on her offer, but she supposed that if her food was awful, that would make it rather difficult for them to get paid. All the same, the lad came back with the order from the gentleman of 'chef's choice'. She had made many dishes before, so she had some experience with the cuisine of Kirigakure no Sato. She had, however, eaten ramen at Ichiraku's and thought that might be a bit of a treat for the gentleman that had just walked in.

"Bring him this boba tea." She said, sprinkling some of the sugar that she had prepared beforehand, "Make sure that it's topped off, we don't want him to be thirsty. Free refills. Usually people don't walk into an empty establishment, so if we have one customer they're sure to multiply."

There was something off-putting about an empty restaurant, and she wanted to put butts in seats. She moved to the kitchen to start the Ramen, adding the fresher ingredients that she wanted to have a crunch last. The ramen she produced had one hard boiled egg, sliced into seven slices, sausage pieces that had little snowflakes emblazoned in the middle for fun, and had fresh veggies. Onion and garlic were used to give it a bit of aromatic umami, where a cayenne pepper was chopped and sautee'd before being added to the dish. She added cilantro, lime, and soy sauce on the plate, to the side of the bowl where it rested and poured the bone broth that she had been working on all day onto the dish.

Finally she put a little flag in the egg on the side, “Here today gone tomorrow” in Kanji emblazoned on the little white flag. Adding some hand seals, she pressed her hands to the side of the bowl and her chakra ran through the fingers into the dish.

“Order up! One Ramen for the nice black-haired gentleman.” She placed the plate and bowl on the counter and dinged the bell, winking at the Aisu at the table, then went about cleaning up her workspace and polishing the bar where she was able to take orders. Directly behind the bar was alcohol, but her sugar should keep anyone from getting drunk enough to make themselves sick.

“Ask him if he wants anything else.” Chiaki instructed to the lad as he balanced the plate and bowl easily.

Li came to this place, Pebble Country, in order to learn their martial art of swordsmanship. Li had created a Taijustu using his own abilities that allowed him to create a sword if he ever needed it along with couple of other techniques but he still needed to learn a real sword style if he was going to make it out there in the world. The more skills you had the more flexible you could be at any time to deal with a problem. If you only had a handful of tools in your toolbox, then you could only deal with a handful of problems. He would have to eventually locate a place to learn these techniques before it was too late, as once this festival was over it wasn't likely that the people of the Pebble or his home would allow him to stay too much longer then this. He was a genin after all and an important one to some people.

Either way, as Li walked by a location that appeared to be selling some kind of bean like food. Li was interested for a moment before he was about to move on when he felt his stomach rumble. He hadn't eaten today and apparently Li's body was letting him know that he could make the smart choice and go inside. Either way, Li turned and interested into the restaurant and his eyes started moving from his right to left.

The first thing he spotted was a women with dark purple and there appeared to be butterflies around, though this might have been a choice in decoration rather than anything else. It was still odd but Li paid it no mind at this time as his eyes continued to move across the place. It appeared to be fairly normal, with tables with four chairs around them, but what made it odd was the dance floor off to the side. Li hadn't seen a restaurant/dancing place before but maybe that was a Pebble Country thing.

As Li continued to look his eyes eventually came across someone that he knew was staff a boy maybe slightly older then Li, brown hair, tanned skin and brown eyes. Completely normal in all regards. Almost forgettable. Li was suspicious of this man instantly, but here wasn't a place where an attack was likely given the Samurai that were around every counter making sure the place was safe as could be.

As Li's eyes continued he eventually found another staff member, a man that was heavily muscled, had platinum blonde hair, blue eyes and a very dark skin color. Li looked at this man and couldn't help but think that the man would die in a fight instantly. He had too many muscles in places where it wasn't needed, and that was going to not only weight him down in a fight it would also make him require more food on long missions. In effect, the man was ineffective. A Cardinal Sin in the Village Hidden in the Mist. The other boy could at least be an assassin, he was nearly that forgettable that if he did do a crime, how would they pick him out of a crowd? That man would be able to be spotted from a mile out without sensory abilities.

Li's eyes eventually got to the final person in the restaurant, and Li knew instantly who it was. He wore a brand new haori in the white-blue hue of a cool winter sky, and his black hair was secured in a bun by a matching clip, beyond which it flowed freely down his back. Naohiro Aisu, wielder of Desire. This man was well known by Li, as he was one of the people that he judged himself again. If he couldn't reach for the highest point in the village, was there really a point in having a goal?

Li looked down at his clothes for a moment. Li was wearing a bone white, loose fitting, long-sleeved, zip-up shirt, black pants cut off around the mid-calf with bandages wrapped around his ankles and traditional shinobi sandals. His stark white hair, that goes slightly past his shoulders matched the extremely pale skin that showed through his clothes, almost like he had never seen the sun before or that he was fighting off an illness.

Li had zero idea what he should be doing at this moment in front of one of the Seven Swordsmen but if the man looked over at Li, Li would bow deeply, going to nearly a ninety degree angle as he did so before saying "Sir." and then continuing on to go find a seat by himself. Li was in a weird spot at this moment in time, given that if he acted too friendly with the Swordsmen, then he might offend the man which means that when he got back to the village he would have to deal with the consequences. So Li simply played it safe and took a seat by himself.

When one of the people came to take his order, Li not even looking at the menu or even the waiter would ask for the chief's choice. Li didn't really care what he ate, he had learned to stomach anything if needed, and Li then went back to his inner thoughts as he tried to figure out how to best solve the problem of getting access to the Pebble sword style without causing an international problem. The Village was already in enough trouble without him causing more problems then Li already had and he needed to think about how to this tactfully, something the young Li knew he wasn't good at in anyway shape or form. He never got the noble training of others clans, as learning how to talk to people was something you learned after you knew how to kill them.

Li also viewed all interactions with another human as a series of cost/benefit analyses, every move he made he tried to make it with the most logical reasoning behind it as possible, even if that logic could be flawed at times. For example, he viewed the interaction he just had with Naohiro Aisu, that was the minimum amount of interaction needed to show that he knew and respected the man without having any risk of feeling like he was too friendly with him. He did this with every person he interacted with in some way, shape or form even without thinking about it really. All people had a value in his head, a value to him, and then they had a cost to keep them around. If the value was higher then the cost, you kept them around. If it wasn't, you cut ties. And it was because of this that made finding someone willing to teach him difficult.

As tensions between the shinobi nations began to grow once again it seemed only natural that Pebble country would host an international event. These such festivals were essential in attempting to de-escalate conflicts and allow a safe haven for shinobi to mingle. Shinjiro had made a habit of attending every International event, from as far back as 14 years old when he competed in the Fur Country competitions and then again in the Star country tounaments a few years later, undefeated in each.

It was only in Aroma country that he suffered his first losses on the International stage, being defeated by two Bannin of the leaf village in consecutive matches. His pride had been tarnished, but the young man, now 23 years of age was still the undisputed most powerful shinobi in Kirigakure. Leader of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and Jinchuuriki of the Phantom beast of Body, Vorashu. Still, as famous as he was he was known for his cloaked and hooded appearance, wielding his two swords across his back and legendary arrow at his hip. Few people outside of Kirigakure had ever seen his face.

And for the first time he had decided to attend an international event unmasked and unarmed. He had left his valuable weapons and legendary arrow and greaves in a nearby mountain, guarded by a Dragon and a few other deadly creatures of his own making. Feeling confident that his prized possessions were secure he strode about the festival wearing a teal haori of the finest quality. Standing at 5'9 and appearing to have a relatively average build a keen eye would notice the incredibly lean and defined muscles beneath his intentionally loose fitting clothing. His hickory brown hair was kept short and well groomed, and his vibrant green eyes were ever alert and brimming with confidence and an air of power.

But it would be his blackened hands and wrists, contrasting against the rest of his pale skin that would truly give him away to any that had seen him without his gloves on. He didn't feel the need to wear a symbol of Kirigakure but he was adorned with a shoulder pauldron baring the insignia of the seven swordsmen of the Mist. Within Kirigakure the man was considered a celebrity and a noble, a member of the fearsome Karagata family and even on the world stage his fame had rose him to near the top of the Bingo Books most wanted and consequently most dangerous.

Naturally, as he moved his steps would be eerily silent and his chakra would be masked from those who might prove bothersome. He could disguise himself better of course, posessing unrivaled skills in transformation techniques but there was no need to hide his identity or assassinate anyone today. He was intent on finding some enjoyment during the festival and allowing himself to relax somewhat as there was no tournament to fight in and in fact conflicts were expressly discouraged. There were a few people however that he would risk anything for, no matter the odds of his survival and one such person had taken it upon herself to set up a restaurant and so it seemed prudent to ensure she had adequate security as well as another mouth to feed.

Entering the restaurant, Shinjiro smirked, noting how it seemed thr place was gradually being taken over by fellow Kirigakure shonobi. A Kaguya boy that he recognized as one sworn to his family, causing quite the commotion back home. And the other being none other than Aisu Naohiro; a tentatvie friend and rival from Kirigakures other prominant organization; the head hunter division. He would move to join Naohiro, the man had proven his aptitude for leadership during the recent fighting and although he wasn't a Bannin like Shinjiro was there were many who considered him a viable candidate for Mizukage. "I hear the chef here is quite spectacular. It seems only shinobi of Kirigakure have good taste" he noted, sparing a glance around the room as he took a seat next to Naohiro. He knew well that he was only one a few people that could approach the Aisu so casually.

The annual pebble festival was a time to create peaceful relations and ease tensions between conflicting countries sometimes it sometimes worked it didn't that wasn't something Enzaragi concerned himself with in his eyes this was for nations to save face not actually create something good for each country.

But Enzaragi, Setsuzoku and the whole of Jiyū no shuken were in unique position they are effectively neutral. Their only true loyalty was to themselves and Ryo. Their area was neutral so shaking hands and finding information was crucial and could give them good standing on the world stage allowing them to be left alone and make their moves in the shadows unbeknownst to the rest of the big five or now closer to seven. With Jiyū no shuken having plans to become the eight.

They had the money they simply needed to play the political game intelligently and cultivate their resources smart, and they could achieve that goal.

The traveling was long and boring which made Enzaragi hungry with Chikara likely being parched for a drink.

Enzaragi entered the restaurant and ordered a Big Gyudon dish giving him the necessary nutrients to fill him up from the journey and any physical activity or training.

"One big bowl of Gyudon please! It's been a long journey I'm sure you understand." Enzaragi looked around whilst reading the bingo book to try to find any particularly important figures if they resided in the restaurant at the moment.

His eyes darted everywhere searching each corner of the room as thoroughly as possible, before noticing two in his book. One Aisu Naohrio and Karagata Shinjiro. 'Looks like this place is a Kirigakure hot spot' Enzaragi communicated through his mask or if Chie had her mind link ready to fire.

Whenever the meal came to his table Enzaragi would perform a prayer thankful for the meal and praying for those who suffering from famine and starvation praying for their relief and future prosperity. Before he took a bit he wanted to ask the rest of Setsuzoku how they felt about the situation. 'What's our move? Do we keep looking around to finish up this delicious food or maybe start some conversation?' He asked the rest of Setsuzoku for approval before doing something drastic.

Enzaragi was one to do slice first ask questions later but this required patience on how they would approach a situation like this. Their massive bounty and reputation likely gave them stares and anything they did could be seen as important if they were recognized.

But for now, The zealot would sit and observe the aura of this room as he enjoyed some of the best Gyudon he's ever had the privilege to taste.

The Muramasa cousins had entered the festivities in style, wearing something white, a color that they usually didn't don but that they had decided upon anyway. They matched, white jeans, white boots, and a white coat with white fur trim, hoods pulled over their heads. The Muramasa family symbol was found on their right shoulders in black, and the kirigakure village symbol on their left in blue. They walked together, conversing amongst themselves quietly as they made their way around the festival grounds. Shuichi wasn't too terribly far away from them, he had taken the journey with the two of them during their visit to Iwagakure, and the three had traveled to the Festival together, allowing Maido some time to catch up with Hisayo and Kayoko and check on their growth and progress without her.

This was all fine, though they had began to grow somewhat hungry when they stumbled upon the little restaurant, "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow."

"How cute," Maido whispered in Shuichi's ear whilst Hisayo said much of the same and nudged Kayoko and pointed. Kayoko immediately began walking towards it, and the other ones followed behind her as she went through the doorway, practically dragging Hisayo behind her by holding her hand. Shuichi entered last, eyeing the room skeptically as Hisayo and Kayoko made their way towards the table where Naohiro and Shinjiro had sat. They passed by, giving a friendly smile and a wave, and even a gentle pat on the back of Shinjiro before they kept walking and then sat at the table with Li, the new Kaguya prodigy that was all the rave back in Kirigakure. "Mind if we join you?" Hisayo said politely as Kayoko was already sitting across from him. Hisayo sat down next, but Shuichi decided to sit somewhere else, instead making his way over to where Enzaragi was sitting and plopped down across from him. "Hello there." He said plainly with a smile across his face.

Hisayo and Kayoko ordered the "spiciest ramen you could possibly make us," in near perfectly synchronized unison, and Shuichi ordered, "Whatever he is having, please." He gestured towards Enzaragi.

Ichiro had settled in well with Setsuzoku over the last few years, as always he was a man who kept connected to many moving parts and while the Sovereignty of Freedom was quickly taking on his focus it was far from the only organization he was invested in. Nonetheless, he had been sure to attend the Pebble country festival alongside Enzaragi and Chikara. Each of his colleagues were highly wanted men and he knew that offering some extra protection would go a long way with them. Of course, he had gone to great lengths to keep his own name and face out of the Bingo Book. It was a risk for him to be seen publically associating with them, but so long as no actions could be tied back to him directly then there shouldn’t be anything for him to worry about.

Wearing the white cloak of Setsuzoku and his blue Oni mask the dark-haired man entered the restaurant alongside Enzaragi. He had opted to keep his sword on hand even though he knew the repercussions should he make an indication that he intended to use it. Upon entering the establishment, he was shocked to feel the sudden intensity as a green-eyed man looked over in their direction. Ichiro had never encountered Karagata Shinjiro before, but he had heard his fair share of rumors. Every pirate feared the man after he and Muramasa Maido had slaughter an entire fleet of skilled raiders in a single afternoon. Only a passing fishing vessel had survived to tell the legendary tale. “We should keep clear of those two” he advised, recognizing the second man from the bingo book as well. Though the Aisu’s reputation was not nearly so fearsome it was still obvious he was a highly skilled shinobi.

However, he noted a few other noteworthy individuals, the Muramasa cousins and a smuggler he had ongoing business with, some of his private ventures. He had no idea the man had connections with members of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. That was useful information and now he knew to be sure not to ever double-cross him. “Interesting group over there” he noted, before taking a seat next to Enzaragi and slowly removing his mask and placing his arm through it so it rested against his shoulder. Ichiro’s dark hair was combed back, wavy and hanging down over his ears. His icy blue eyes gleamed with intelligence as he attempted to relax but found himself unable to let his guard down around such powerful company. He had to remind himself that he and his allies were also strong. When one of the waiter boys came around he let Enzaragi order first before chiming in, “I’ll have some ramen, thank you. Whatever variety the chef recommends” he decided. He had spent most of the last decade eating seafood and grains, maybe the occasional fresh fruits but it had been rare to eat a proper bowl of ramen. But then, he couldn’t quite break all of his habits, stroking his beard as the boy turned away he found himself unable to resist “And a bottle of dark rum, if you have it” he added, hoping that they carried the more exotic liquor that was so prevalent in the southern islands. He had made a living off of bootlegging the stuff as well as all manner of other contraband and exotic vices so he knew it wasn’t completely foreign to the region, his contacts with Shuichi had helped him expand his business throughout the North.

Things were coming along, never had he figured that the crew would find themselves in international lands during a festival, it was both interesting and intense as Chikara felt that he needed to be on guard at all times. The birds circled the air while the female companions were on their daily strolls. All of the doujutsu had been deactivated save for Wakana's as she was the point guard, Chie was ready to send mental notes to any Setsuzoku member if time came for it, meaning for now they were effectively disconnected.

Chikara, with his stolen eye made sure that both of them were deactivated instead of shining like a beacon and telling people, "Hey, I have unique eyes and one of them happens to be a Fukusha eye." his black eyes appeared like any regular ones, which helped him blend in, although his robes, insignia and mask being plastered on the bingo book did not help ease the man. So, for the time being, he kept eyeing Enzaragi's bingo book and followed him into the restaurant, alcohol being the only thing on his mind.

Ichiro had been an undeniable assistance to the organization, not only as their medic but the one that helped them create a universal healthcare system that allowed for free healthcare to take place, the countless hospitals built under his supervision also helped the people get drawn to them, this had been in the mercenaries mind for years yet he had never celebrated that fact, an issue he was going to remedy today.

"I think we should follow Ichiro's lead and keep clear from them. Remember that Kirigakure ninjas probably aren't the biggest fans of me, seeing as I used to be-" He stopped as Shuichi sat down, Chikara greeted before gently removing his purple helmet.

He sat next to Enzaragi, on the opposite side of Ichiro, but he was fixtured on the doctor, he listened to Enza's order before he would chuckle as Ichiro ordered dark rum, the alcoholic had heard of it before but never tried it, seeing as this was a call for celebration, he ordered the same.

"I would like to start by toasting Ichiro for being the legend that he is. To many more saves in your career Doctor." Chikara would raise the rum glass, making sure to not make too much of a scene as this was generally directed to the members of this table. "And to you Shuichi, I hope your future is as bright as your ideas." From what he had heard from Ichiro, the man before him had a bright future a head of him.

Fuhen was, as he often did at these festivals, not here on super official business, which meant he could basically do whatever he wanted! It was great to be occasionally separated from the confines of having to act as a figurehead for a conglomeration of nations pulled together under a glorious, benevolent empire with no issues whatsoever! Boy it sure was great to not have any children claiming he was their father, and no paperwork for the rest of the month! Shoving all that work off on his aide made things great.

Him and his partner, Oban, were allowed to just enjoy the sights of the festival, allowing Fuhen to occasionally engage in carnival games much to the chagrin of several game runners, though some of the travelling ones recognized him from previous festivals and closed shop as he walked past. This all allowed him to win Oban a giant, oversized bear plushie, who carried it over her shoulder with an annoyed look on her face, while the Frog fed her and himself some sweet dango.

As time moved on, the pair of them got hungry for real food, so the very noticeable and tall pair wandered into a rather cozy looking restaurant, the overstuffed bare bearly fitting through the door as they took a seat. "Sake for two, please!" Fuhen called to whoever might be waiting, only to have Oban elbow him in the ribs painfully. "For one..." He wheezed while correcting himself.
"It's so sad!" the reader said to the writer with a frown. "The character in my book just died!" The author turned to her and burst out into tears, "I know!" he said, "So did mine!"

Li simply sat there, waiting and watching the door as he wondered what he should do next with his life. He was clearly going to be a ninja, but what kind of ninja? Of course at the moment he specialized in Taijustu as most of his clan did but maybe there was a better way to do things, a way to handle business with less risk to the user. Li thought about Ninjustu which he put away from his mind as quickly as it appeared. Li wasn't interested in learning ninjujstu, it simply wasn't his thing and he didn't have any reason to learn it yet. Maybe one of the other villages had an idea that Li wasn't thinking of? As Li started to go through his brain the villages and what limited knowledge he knew about them, someone very important walked through the door. On his shoulder was a pauldron baring the insignia of the Seven Swordsmen. This was Shinjiro Karagata, the Leader of the Seven Swordsmen, a powerful member of Li's bled family and user of one of the Gemna of the village.

Li simply looked down at the table, as he didn't wish to bring any attention to himself at all. Li for some reason that meeting his man's eyes could cause him problem in the future, if he didn't notice him there then maybe he wouldn't ask Li any questions, questions that Li might not have the answers to. Once Li saw that the man had finally sat down next to the other two, Li relaxed and went back to thinking. He noticed another man walk in, someone he didn't know who they were but they were not from his village at the very least. He pulled out a small book and began flipping through it, Li imagined that was a bingo book which he personally didn't own one yet. Li then paid the man no more mind as he continued to stare at the table, simply waiting for his food.

The next person that entered the building was someone that Li knew, fairly well as they had beaten him into unconsciousness not that long ago. Li made no effort to make himself known, they were far above him in station as a member of the Seven Swordsman so he had assumed that they would simply sit with their comrades. Li was surprised when they gave them a smile and a wave and came to sit at his table in the corner. Li's face went flush for a moment, but it was easier to see then most due to his pale skin before he got himself under control quickly. Li simply nodded as they sat down next to him and across from him.

Li watched as another man came walking in, someone that Li had no idea who he was and honestly didn't really care at this point. It was getting very difficult for him to keep track of who was all in here at this time, but he knew at this moment that half of them were members of his village. If the Pebble Samurai didn't make Li feel safe, the people in this restaurant sure did.

Another set of people came walking in, this time it appeared to be a squad of people guarding a single person. Well they must be important considering how many of them there were. Though the next person to walk through the door surprised Li, though it shouldn't have. Fuhen. Li knew enough to know of the man who lead the people currently in a war with his village. He also thought that this could be very bad. There were some of the most powerful people in the village hidden in the mist here, and their enemy commander is literally walking into a small space with all of them. Li then stopped his panic as he realized that no one was going to do anything here because it was a net loss for both sides to try something.

If Fuhen tried some shit, the samurai would come and kill him, most likely killing a few of them but eventually dying and most likely only killing a few of the Seven Swordsmen in the process. The other way around would end up more then likely Fuhen dies from the blitz of people and high power abilities, but then the village would loss far to many of it's best warriors to kill just one on the enemy side. It was their leader yes, but the combined might in this room from all the members of Kirigakure was too much to lose for a single man. Li turned back and began to scratch at the table he was sitting at as he thought absently about the other villages and how they do things and if he can use something from them to make something greater then himself. After all, any village that was capable of being the enemy of his village must have some strength to them, and adaptation and flexibility to take and absorb those strengths will only make Kirigakure stronger in the end of it.

Chiaki nodded at Li as he came in. He had ordered the chef’s choice, so that was what he was going to get.

She folded her arms and thought about the Kaguya child, what would be best for him? Probably something with a milk base for his bones, along with maybe something meaty for his growing muscles. Stroganoff it was!

As she was thinking about this dish and getting it prepared, the next customer came in, recognizing Shinjiro, she nodded to him and gave him a polite smile. He was one of the only ones that she had told about this disguise and it was kindof a stress-test to see whether or not anyone picked up on it. He, again, ordered the chef’s special.

Knowing him to like seafood, she decided that a nice shrimp scampi might be nice, on a bed of noodles with grilled octopus and fried calamari mixed in. A nice medley.

She got to work on boiling the little shrimp when the next customer came in, a man that she recognized as Enzaragi. She had performed some surgery on him, and it was good to see him moving about without much trouble. He wanted Gyudon, king sized, so she would give it to him. Her waiters were running around, taking the orders, giving drinks, and asking people if they would prefer chips and salsa, breadsticks, or wanton soup, courtesy of the house.

The muramasa twins were at his heels, sitting down with Li so that his table wasn’t empty. Good. Glad to see that he was making some friends at least. They ordered her spiciest ramen, so she would give it to them. She smirked as she took down a jar of her hottest peppers and hoped that they would enjoy every last drop of the soup.

Ichiro, the man that was learning from her the ways of medicine, took up a spot and ordered rum and ramen. She nodded to him, “Of course sir.” And took down a bottle, setting it down and a small tumbler, “On the rocks?” She pulled out two balls of ice from the freezer behind the bar, roughly the size of her palm in this form, and set them in a separate tumbler with the tongs.

Chikara came in and apparently had heard the order, so she set another bottle up, knowing a ninja’s hunger and thirst and set out another tumbler for him. “Anything to eat?” she asked as the other dishes continued to heat and make.

She nodded at the sake order, and bowed her head to the shogun of heart. She, even the persona she had taken, would know of the shogun here in pebble, and he fit the description perfectly.

“Sake, you got it, hot or cold? And would you two care for anything to eat?” She bustled around the kitchen as the youths continued to bring out whatever appetizers the guests were eating.

Grabbing them both by the shoulder as they were busy filling up the appetizer dishes she said, “Tell them that it’s going to be about a ten to twenty minute wait, but that I’ll have them soon.”

Naohiro gave a polite nod of thanks to the serving lad who delivered him an odd-looking drink, but didn't otherwise acknowledge him while focusing on his sensory techniques. Something niggled at the back of his mind's eye, but for the moment he couldn't work it out. He examined the glass before him and, figuring new experiences and cuisines was part of his goal here at the festival, took a tentative sip. Then set it down and frowned. Odd thing. The tea was nice enough—though somewhat oversweetened—but the lumps of starch floating around in it were just... strange. Why would someone spoil tea in such a manner? Oh well, at least he knew for the future that this particular drink wasn't for him.

He diverted his attentions back to his ongoing experiment with sensory. No matter how far he stretched his sense, he was beset with an odd resonance that he hadn't quite been able to place until now; it seemed the room itself around him was giving off a slight reading, throwing off his efforts. He withdrew his mind's eye to focus on a much narrower range, looking only at the 10 or so metres around him—and found what he was looking for. Not the room itself, but the butterflies, flittering up and around the restaurant. He peered at one in passing, noting its exotic colours and pathing through the air. Together with the faint sensory reading from each insect, they struck him as being somewhat... unnatural?

He tensed, and almost lashed out with his own chakra when the serving boy returned and deposited a steaming bowl of ramen on his table. Naohiro watched the lad with curiosity, delving back into his mind's eye to examine the boy... But no, he seemed just as mundane as any other civilian. The butterflies weren't his. He concentrated his attentions on each patron and passing civilian outside the building in turn, measuring the relative strengths and sizes of each chakra source; but most were clearly at a similar level. The few peak readings were few, and none of those stopped. One of the highest readings came from the restaurant kitchen area, but even that was a feeble signature, someone perhaps only marginally above that of a student in Kirigakure. He doubted they could be the master of such creates as filled the room. Then what? Were the butterflies perhaps spies for someone much further afield, someone more elusive? A precautionary measure, maybe?

He didn't appear to be in any immediate danger—and the Pebble Samurai seemed very firm in their desire to avoid any such problems anyway—so for now he allowed himself to relax, just a little, and try the ramen. This time he smiled in satisfaction, breathing in the deep, moreish aroma and sipping at the broth. It was quite pleasant, and he mentally revised his opinion of the chef. At this time he began to notice more notable chakra signatures approaching, the first another similar to the level of the chef, but not far behind them, some of considerable power.

The one who entered first—the genin—passed by his own table with a polite greeting, and Naohiro gave him a nod in return. He didn't know the young lad, but watching his chakra signature as he was, he would not be surprised if the boy held some upcoming potential of note. He wouldn't have minded if the genin had joined him, even, but it seemed he was wont to take his own table. Perhaps Naohiro was a little intimidating nowadays. But then Naohiro paused in surprise, for a second figure, undetected by his senses, had followed the first. None other than Karagata Shinjiro, surely one of the Mist's greatest living shinobi. How was he eluding the sensory? Did he have a cloak like Naohiro's own? A puzzle. This man, at least, would have no such qualms about joining him, that was for sure.

He pushed out a chair for his comrade as Shinjiro approached, and even offered him the questionable tea. Perhaps the host of the Body Genma could stomach the strange brew. Although it would be a stretch to call the pair of them friends—they had only rarely encountered one another during their different careers—they certainly shared a mutual and unspoken respect.

"They are, at that," he answered, and slurped up a few noodles from his bowl. "How are you finding the festival, Shinjro? Anything noteworthy so far?"

While he spoke, he continued examining the man infront of him with his mind's eye. Why couldn't he sense him? Was Shinjiro a sensor too, somehow interfering with his own scanning? Naohiro paused to think, curious if he could detect such an action, and tentatively began channeling his chakra in a few different ways, searching his own body. He set up a small circulation of sensory chakra, running it through him in a continuous loop; it was such a meagre amount of energy and almost no effort at all to keep it flowing that he thought he could do it passively, perhaps even while asleep. And he was confident his logic was correct in its making; if anyone used sensory techniques to detect him, the flow of chakra should be disturbed, giving him a small mental flicker to tell him of the detection. However it was silent right now, flowing steadily and uninterrupted. He frowned into his ramen, but then grew distracted by another arrival. And this one was significantly more notable. When he looked up and recognised the face of Jinsoku Enzaragi, a notorious mercenary leader who was known for partly setting up a new power far to the west, he nudged Shinji under the table. Look who just walked in, that nudge said, although he knew this would not be the time or place to confront the wanted man. A shame. Enzaragi's power level might've made for an interesting encounter.

Making note of that chakra source, Naohiro continued to eat and converse amiably with Shinji while mentally stretching his mind out once again. It seemed more and more people were entering the building now that he'd broken the ice, so to speak, and as he searched the nearby streets he picked up some interesting readings. Some of them, he even thought he recognised. His suspicions were soon revealed to be true as the pair of Muramasa women, Hisayo and Kayoko, entered the small restaurant, in the company of a third figure he did not know. Interesting. The two women were his colleagues in the Division, though obviously that wasn't public knowledge. But the other, a younger lad, had an Iwagakure headband. Something about his signature seemed odd, singing to Naohiro with some sort of secret yet to be revealed. Perhaps an odd hint of something else familiar there, too, lurking deep inside... These three, he added to his focus, trying to filter out the riffraff readings from the streets and account for all the notable targets at once in his mind.

Since their association was not known outside of the Head Hunter Division, Naohiro did not greet Hisayo or Kayoko as they passed, but was pleased to see them join the young Kayuga shinobi at his table. It was better not to leave the lad alone here, not with the missing ninja nearby and who only knows who else soon to join the growing patronage. The power level in the restaurant was growing with every passing moment, and now even another was approaching too.

Naohiro smiled to himself; he'd never considered simply sitting in a small restaurant, innocently slurping ramen, would provide such excellent mental exercise. He should've done this years ago. He reached his senses out to the next ones to approach. Another mercenary of notable strength, not dissimilar to his own level, wearing that iconic cloak matching Enzaragi. Naohiro watched him as he entered—clearly the man clocked him, too, along with most of the rest of the room—and made a mental note of his features. He could be one to watch out for on the world stage. Behind him, a third mercenary. More of them? Were they up to something, here? And this one was no mere mercenary either, but the partner of the first. Nara Chikara's face was equally plastered across every bingo book. Naohiro shot Shinjiro a curious look and muttered a sarcastic "Seems they'll let anyone in here, huh?" with a smile. With the pair of them together, and the two swordsmen-hunters nearby, there still wouldn't be anything to fear if the gathering turned sour.

Instead, it was his ramen that turned sour as the last couple passed into his sensory range and into the building. Of these two signatures, Naohiro not only recognised one, but knew it with familiarity. He'd sat across from it not long ago, playing diplomat before a tyrant. Iiyashi Fuhen. Now with one of his aides, or perhaps concubines. The former was a man of many words and conflicting desires, and Naohiro honestly still wasn't sure what he thought of him. A small part of his mind wanted, against all recent happenings, to believe in the man's intentions. To believe he strove for something good, and better. But all his actions spoke to the contrary. The woman, he had not encountered before. Though he continued to examine them with his mind's eye, weighing and measuring their signatures with those around them to learn all he could about the pair, he turned his head aside and ignored them, clearly not interested in a confrontation here. He was here to see the festival, not continue a war. He hoped they had the decency to think similarly.

He began to pick apart Fuhen's chakra signature in his mind, focusing in upon it and shedding apart its layers like an imagined onion. There was something different here; though, he realised, not wholly unique. He withdrew and focused on Chikara, too, and found the same oddity. There was clearly something extra to their sensory readings that the other patrons didn't have. That part of the signal felt... exotic, as if their chakra signature was partly comprised of some different mix of energy, or perhaps twisted to change its nature into a specialised form. He glanced at Shinji again, curious. It was common knowledge that the man was a Jinchuuriki—it was celebrated, actually, throughout water country—and Naohiro wondered if the man's signature bore the same alteration from the Genma's influence. Again, he wished he could sense him. Just for the purpose of refining his own talents, of course.

A little frustrated by that, but not willing to give up, he decided to see if perhaps Shinjiro was masking his presence in the room not by a direct means of hiding his own signaure, but rather indirectly by fooling the senses of everyone around him. That would've been quite insidious, and, if Naohiro knew the man half as well as he thought, quite fitting for Shinji. Focusing on the other chakra signatures in the room, Naohiro set about examining them again in detail, peeling them apart and searching through the readings as he'd already done, but this time searching for abnormalities in their chakra flow. Where before he'd looked for different mixes of chakra types to identify exotic sources, now he simply watched the flows and currents within each chakra circulatory system. His intent was to find any abnormalities that might indicate someone under the effects of genjutsu techniques. If his logic was correct, he should be able to see it. Perhaps he could even convince an affected target to use kai, or break the genjutsu for them himself, just so he could see the effect on their system in his mind's eye. Only... everyone around him seemed healthy. Try as he might, it seemed no one in the room was affected by genjutsu in such a way. It was very disappointing.

He sat again for awhile in thought, exchanging idle small-talk with his comrade, before resolving to practice another avenue of sensory instead. He wouldn't let one little failure put him off. He flushed his mind with more chakra and pushed his sensory harder, further, reaching out again. This time he searched far beyond the small cafe and the surrounding streets. His head began to ache from maintaining focus on such a wide area—all while trying to outwardly appear nonchalant and enjoy his ramen, of course—and soon he had to strip back the detail in his efforts, sacrificing clarity for range. Just how far could he see, when really trying...?
TL;DR and jutsu trainedShow
Tldr: Naohiro is outwardly just sitting, eating, and chatting with Shinji, no other character interactions beyond a few looks. But he is examining everyone while learning sensory.

2106 words - learned:
[Sensory Style • Beyond Senses]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 10 Control

This sensor technique is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 60 meters. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of a 30m radius. This only gives the user an idea of how many chakra sources are present in their general area and a rough gauge on the size of each chakra source.

[Sensory Style • Evaluation]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: [Sensory Style • Beyond Senses]

The sensor will activate a this supplementary technique in addition to a sensory jutsu. By doing so, the user will be able to compare the relative strength of each source of chakra they are able to sense. The “strength” of the individual is determined by the average of each person’s Chakra Pool, Control and Endurance stats. The user can determine who has more relative strength than others, allowing them to pick out possible risks.

Sensory Feedback
E-Rank Nintaijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: [Sensory]

It has become second-nature to the user to constantly circulate, but not consume, a small quantity of chakra around their body at all times. Whenever the user is detected by a sensory technique or ability, the detection triggers a minor feedback loop within this circulation, feeling like a moment of interference in the flow of chakra. This alerts the user to the possibility that they have been detected by some means of chakra sensory.

[Sensory Style • Multiple Target Lock]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: [Sensory Style • Target Lock]

The sensor will activate a sensory technique and focus on up to [control/2] sources of chakra within range. In doing so, the user will be able to continue to sense those source of chakra, even if they are moving around, so long as they are holding that target within range of their mind’s eye. If the user or a tracked chakra source moves out of range, the user will lose track of that source. Once cast, this technique provides a sensory overlay to the user’s normal vision for up to [Control/2] posts.

[Sensory Style • Supra Sense]
A-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: [Sensory Style • Beyond Senses]

The sensor will activate this supplementary technique in addition to a sensory jutsu. Once done so, the user can extend their sensory prowess to identify latent and active sources of alternative or exotic forms of chakra, such as natural or sage chakra, spiritual energy, or types of chakra used in samurai styles such as Kiai, Chi, Ki, and so on. This technique allows the user to identify and locate any targets with specialist stats within their sensory range, even if the specialist stat ability, transformation, or similar is not currently active.

[Sensory Style • Genjutsu Sense]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: [Sensory Style • Beyond Senses]

The sensor will activate this supplementary technique in addition to a sensory jutsu. Once done so, the user can examine any sensed sources of chakra for any abnormalities indicative of ongoing genjutsu effects or triggers. This can help the user determine who has been caught within a genjutsu technique.

[Sensory Style • Augmented Sense]
A-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: [Sensory Style • Broad Sense], 30 Control

This technique is a further refinement upon [Broad Sense]. With this technique, a sensor can sacrifice quality for quantity to sense at much greater distances compared to a normal sensor. While concentrating, the user can sense and identify individual chakra signatures with a great degree of detail within a radius of 100 metres, and can approximate the size of a chakra source to the nearest 5 Chakra Pool. The user can sit down and meditate for a full post to drastically increase their sensory range at the cost of clarity. In doing so the user can sense to gain a general idea of the number, size, and approximate location of chakra sources out to 500 metres, extending by an additional 500 metres per post up to a total of [control/2] posts (rounded up). While concentrating at long ranges, the user loses the ability to differentiate between similar nearby sources, meaning multiple people with similar chakra levels in close proximity may appear simply as a single large mass.

Fuhen thanked the hostess for the drink, and Oban ordered some kind of rice dish, asking for something with fish, fruit, and cream... and some water for herself while Fuhen poured himself a cup and took a pleased sip, shuddering in pleasure. He didn't get to imbibe all that often these days, his duties keeping him quite busy, and while the Kisama clan were drinkers by necessity, Oban wasn't a casual drunk, and while she would normally let herself loose to enjoy a drink with her partner, these were not normal times.

He was quite relaxed, and he started to look around the room. Surrounding him were... Well, he started to piece together, some very important members of society, and finally his eyes landed on one man in particular he recognized. Naohiro. If the man did not deign to meet his gaze, Fuhen's eyes were liable to bore a hole in his skull, and yet all the same if he did, the look, while intense, was not one of anger or hatred. He raised a glass to the Aisu and inclined his head respectfully. It wasn't clear what the Shogun saw in the man, but there was a level of respect, and the Shogun did not respect those he held contempt for. Maybe he had high hopes for the Aisu, something in his Heart told him that things were coming to an end, and while Fuhen had many, many heirs, one tall tree did not make for a strong forest. He hoped that was something he'd spread well enough in his time here.

It had been a long trip, but hopefully it would be worth it. Now that there was an actual income, she could afford little things like this. Plus, it was a new world for her. She had graduated from academy and wanted to "spread her wings" or some silly notion. No matter what, she had been working her rear end off and felt she deserved a little exposure to a different culture. Something her parents had always taught her was to try to understand the culture of others. If you did that, you might understand the pain or triumph of them as well. So, going to a festival in another country seemed like the perfect idea. Plus! She was excited about the idea of meeting new people.

Once she got into Pebble Country, it was like she entered tourist mode. She couldn't stop eyeing how buildings had been built, or the styles of clothing. Most of all, the smells of food and people caught her attention. There were so many to wade through. She still had the nose of a human, but she had always had a stronger sense than most. And, just then, she had been reminded of one of the pitfalls of a sensitive nose and penchant for daydreaming. Her stomach growled so loudly a couple folks walking near her chuckled. She put her hand on her stomach and laughed with an embarrassed smile. Her head tilted as she caught a whiff of various foods being cooked. A small restaurant, Here Today, Gone Tomorrow. The smells seemed to be coming from there.

'Well, guess I'll pop in there. My stomach will screech at me if I don't feed it soon,' she sighed as she walked toward the establishment. As she stepped in, she was almost slammed with the different smells of various foods being cooked. Most of which, she didn't recognize. Considering where she had been from, it wasn't surprising she was a bit sheltered in the realm of foods. Something else she quickly noticed, everyone else was dressed far more... interestingly? than she was. Her lightly fitted shirt, fitted jeans, work boots, and backpack seemed to be completely outclassed by those in the room. With a shrug, she barely skipped a beat and walked in.

Noting the different crests, village insignia, and groupings, she pondered where to sit. The place wasn't huge, but there were still empty places to sit. She scratched her head, jostling the braid that draped down her back a little. Her eyes bounced around and finally, she seemed to settle on the table with two very intense looking gentlemen. 'On second thought,' she sat herself at the table next to the gentlemen and slipped her backpack around so she could place it in the chair beside her. She let out a sigh of relief as she stretched her legs out. Funny part, her feet barely touched the floor as she sat. It was hard to think she was an adult from her sheer lack of size.

When one of the young men, barely younger than herself, approached, she actually asked for cold sake and water. When he blinked at her, she pulled a chain from around her neck with a small piece of metal attached. It showed her ranked as Akibushi from Tea Country. Her brow twitched slightly in frustration as she also asked for something the region was known for as a meal. She was clearly trying to hold her temper, hoping the boy would just take info from the tag and go. She crossed her arms over her chest, clearly not the chest of a child, but still built small and lithe. When the young man finally walked away, she breathed out in relief. "One day, maybe I'll actually look like an adult to people," her voice was light but still held a little laugh to it.

She continued to watch the people around her with a small smile. As she waited, she took out a small kit from her backpack. When she opened the small box, she pulled out a notebook and a few charcoal pencils about the size of a large postcard. With silent bobbing of her head, she eyed the butterflies. They seemed out of place to her, but she couldn't figure out why. Instead, she took to doodling in the book. This page would be a cascade of those butterflies when she was done. She wasn't the best at drawing, yet, but she was having fun. It was a pass time that made her smile, so she would continue.

The bothersome child was tired and somehow bored. He had been training, meeting people, running around, and trying to cause a stir and yet somehow.... couldn't really do anything right. However, while dragging his feet while walking something caught his golden green eyes. A restaurant? The sign was clear, but what was even more potent was the fresh smell of a mixture of different types of food. This was all and all the true combination that would completely peak the interest of the pre-teen.

With a new found energy, Akihiko would make his way into the restaurant. Based on the crowd there was a mixture of different people of all shapes and sizes. A quick surveillance left Aki with the assumption that there were even some ninja here as well. However, before he could properly figure out who was in the area, his stomach erupted. A guttural growl that was loud enough to be heard by the hostess and anyone else that was somewhat near him. He would wait until he saw someone that worked there and deepen his voice to try to sound older "Hello yes, I would like a table for food please"

Kinomichi's return to Iwagakure from the eastern coast was cut short with the announcement of another festival to be held between the villages. This time it'd be held in Pebble and Michi was immediately confused why anyone would host an event in the middle of a police-state? Whatever, Tatsuo told him to take a peak at who showed up and if there were any powerful, unaffiliated people to also keep an eye on them.

As he'd come into range of Sensory, those with the sense would see a swirling mass of Katon chakra radiating from the man as he decided he needed a bite to eat. The trek through Rock Country was always treacherous and filled with some sort of peril whether it be a landslide or another disaster. What he wasn't ready to see when he walked into a particular restaurant was one Froggy Fresh Shogun. The last time the two had met, it had been in Heart and right after the man had just slain the Mizukage. All of a sudden, he was glad this festival was being held in a police-state.

The one person Michi did recognize, however, was Shinjiro through not just their allied villages but other business. Another Kirigakure shinobi was with him and Michi decided to play it safe with numbers after seeing Fuhen murder their Kage with his own eyes. Deciding not to point and stare at the Shogun, Michi made his way to the table containing the two Kirigakure shinobi and bowed his head.

"Would you mind if I joined you?"

Her first stop at the festival Nozomi decided to visit this big restaurant that seemed highly rated, she saw a lot of kirigakure and Iwa members here. Even some other the other nations, she would soon get some food doing a rare moment of splurging to try tasting one of each food to see what she likes best. When she was done ordering she had a tray half a meter high with food. She would then sit next to lii and casually start munching down on the food.

Because her body also functioned as one big stomach because of the properties of her e body she would be able to eat lots of food without getting as full normally. Though she usually wouldn’t pig out like this she figured she could try seeing what it’s like once or twice. As she ate she casually inspected the room to see what everyone else was doing and how they were behaving. She figured no one would be stupid enough to attack because it would be suicidal at this point because of the samurai running security.

So it was a rare opportunity to watch how the other nations acted

Zakuro walked through the door. His clothes were drenched in sweat, and his smell reflected. The man came straight from the iron banner and needed to refuel. He had heard some passerbys talk about the incredible food here and how it reinvigorated them. Sounded like a dream come true for a man who liked to eat and train.

He flopped onto an open bench and awaited the server while greedily looking over the menu. It all seemed so delicious, however would he decide?

There was no pretending for Hanako. She was clearly a shinobi with a gray gi and the kusari armor that she wore underneath. She had a simple rope around her waist keeping the gi in place of her hakama style pants that tucked into bandage wraps at her ankles. Her wrists and arms were covered in bandages and were hiding the storage seals she had placed against her own skin. A shuriken holster was on each of her thighs. She had completed the journey from the Star Country to Pebble, all for the festival. In recent times she had found herself lacking any direction. She really cared so little for the objectives of the organization that she had been recruited into and that besides she had little idea of what their objective was either. Yet, she had grown bored with the country of Stars. A Land of merchants and dinosaurs. With nothing to tether her to the land she found herself now in the land of pebbles.

The Journey had left her hungry, and while she was more than capable of a hunter, she wanted something cooked by someone else. A home cooked meal like what Granny used to make for her. She entered the Here today gone Tomorrow Restaurant with a melancholy air and ignored the other guests that had already been seated and found an empty seat for herself. The restaurant was not dissimilar to how she felt life had turned for her. Her parents, Granny, Chiaki - they had all been with her at one point and eventually they were all gone the next.

She sat at her table and waited for one of the servers to approach her. All the while she was trapped in her own mind with her thoughts as she struggled with issues like abandonment and a lack of belonging. Life would never again be the same as it had been when she was a young girl in the lightning country. It felt so much better back that when she didn’t have to think and could focus purely on her martial arts and techniques. Now - there was nothing. Nothing to look forward to. No one to fight for.

All her skill was in the arts of killing and yet why had she been taught to fight and kill? In the end it was useless and it had ruined her ability to fit in with the rest of the populous. She would never be able to live a normal life, not after the things she had learned. The strange paranoia that had been drilled into her - the checking entrances and rafters for threats. The way she did occasional checks with her sensory technique to look for shinobi who might be approaching her. These were things she would never be able to forget and would doom her to the fate of a shinobi. One day she die like Chiaki had. There was pretty much nothing for her to fight for outside of standard mercenary work, and even that meant that she had to compete against the resources of the larger villages.

For now… she’d start with a Boba Tea

'Here Today, Gone Tomorrow? Well, that's kind of an apt name,' Shiun decided, staring up at the sign for the restaurant. It had been a long, tiring day there at the festival already. She'd gotten lost from her group almost immediately when she turned to look at something, in the stress of it all she honestly couldn't even remember what that something was, and when she turned back her group was gone, vanished into the crowd like some kind of ninjas! She'd think that was cool if it weren't for the fact that her group consisted solely of samurai and that she'd been accidentally let alone in a strange place! Honestly, she figured she'd be easy to spot what with this giant purple mushroom on top of her head! But apparently not in the throng of others keeping the short girl covered it would seem.

So the stress of being lost had had her put on a brave face and start walking around in some sort of faux search of her group, hoping it would all work out for the best and naturally leaving her quite famished. It was only chance that she had come across Here Today, Gone Tomorrow in the first place and, peeking inside, it looked busy enough! Now Shiun wasn't exactly one to be shy around strangers, but considering that, as far as she was aware, literally everyone inside of this place WAS a stranger, and given her bad habit to accidentally say things that got her into trouble, she figured it'd be best to go in, sit down, eat some food quietly and then be on her way. Don't bother no one, don't get bothered. A simple plan! Would it work?

Stepping inside, Shiun had initially thought to herself that she would just find somewhere to sit down and wait to be seated. But uh... the inside was a bit more busy than she'd thought just from glancing from the outside looking in. Was there even a place for her to sit...? Suddenly she was a bit paralyzed as she scanned the room and tried to find somewhere solitary-enough-to-her-liking to sit but was finding it difficult to do so! Subsequently, she was left standing a couple of steps from the door way, having all of the appearance of some kid trying to look and act tough! Maybe she was waiting to be seated? Truthfully, she was just trying to figure out if there was even room in this establishment for her at the moment or if she'd need to go somewhere else...

Chiaki watched as more and more people piled into the restaurant. Smiling, she tucked a purple strand behind her ear and continued her work in the kitchen. Her fingers flew through the motions of hand seals, adding spices here and there to the dishes that were already sizzling and bubbling in her kitchen, making a symphony of smells, an orchestra for the olfactory senses. Her movements were precise, but graceful, a dancer in the kitchen and as precise as a surgeon. She made sure to meet the flavor profile of each dish, the stroganoff’s mushrooms came to a sizzle, she added garlic, red pepper, black pepper, lavender, and a dash of paprika to the browning and sauteing fungi.

She flipped the meat that was going to be the main attraction for the stroganoff, a slice of prime rib that would need to be cut into small slices and added to the delicate mixture once the fresh milk was added. She wove some intricate seals over this dish, her smile softening as she noted that the meal would be able to feed even the most hungry patron. She looked over to where the Kaguya was seated and wondered whether or not he had noticed who was working behind the counter. No matter, better to get this dish out to him so that she could get the other patrons’ dishes to them. She moved through the kitchen, finding the milk and heavy cream, adding a heaping helping of both before thickening the whole mixture by adding flour, just enough to make it a sauce rather than a soup.

Chiaki sliced the meat delicately, length-wize, making thin strips of the prime rib before spreading the sauce over a bed of linguini, topping it with the prime rib and garnishing it with a bit of parsley. The finished dish, she hoped was of restaurant quality. A decisively jarring ring of her bell and she pointed to Lin, the young man that had seen her for what she was in Kirigakure, a jonin of Iwagakure. She was, here, only a simple chef, serving simple food to high-ranking and high profile patrons. She wondered whether or not this meal was going to be a hit or a disaster with her current customers.

She motioned for both boys to come back as the shrimp scampi continued to simmer on the stove behind her, “Would you please ask the patrons about the taste of the food when you go to collect their dishes after they are done. Of course ask if they’re enjoying the meal right after,” She motioned to the Kaguya lad as the plate had been set in front of him first, “they take their first bite.” Her deep amber eyes flickered with interest, a fever for flavor that she was already caught up in.

“If I had known that this would have been this big a success I would have hired more people to help wait the tables.”

Chiaki retreated into the back as the wait staff went around, retrieving, refilling and taking orders. They seated a small brown haired samurai, it looked like, from the newly established Heart village. Interesting, it was certainly drawing in all sorts of clients.

She busied herself with the scampi while the girl was seated, followed by someone that Chiaki recognized as a jinchuuriki of Kumogakure no Sato, her old stomping grounds, Akihiko. Her own attempts to reach into the realm of time and space were nothing compared to the spirit that he housed within him. She wondered how he was doing and smiled fondly at him from behind the bar, around the corner. She wished him well, and that he would stay for the meal and enjoy himself besides.

The scampi was a simple dish. In a large skillet, Chiaki melted butter with olive oil, a small bit of each so that she could line the bottom of the skillet and the garlic wouldn’t burn. She pressed the garlic with the flat of a knife, exertly taking out three cloves, one of her favorite spices as its fragrance wafted throughout the kitchen and sautéed it until the fragrance practically filled the whole restaurant, about one minute. She took out a bottle of Pinot Grigio, sniffing it and making sure that the aroma would add something to the dish and added the wine to the mixture, along with salt, red pepper flakes and plenty of black pepper and brought the whole to a simmer. Leaving it uncovered, she walked away to let the wine reduce, as she needed to, and wondered about other spices that she would love to taste in it. Adding rosemary, a bay leaf, and a pinch of oregano, she mixed it and then nodded to herself, satisfied with her culinary creation.

She had just enough time to get the ramen, which she had actually started well before, out of its giant pot and added some of her special spice. The spice was called, “Kick of lightning” Or that is what she called it. It called for some of the spiciest peppers, and had she been made of anything but silicone it probably would have burned her eyes to just look over the steaming bowls while she worked the heat of the peppers into the broth.

Taking two boiled eggs from the pot, she shelled these, cut them into small cross sections and fanned them out. She added some greens to the side of the dish to be added to the ramen or eaten separately if they should so choose and wove some hand seals over the peppers once again, replenishing her supply, and draining her chakra a bit as she wove more of her chakra into the peppers that were not in the dish, should anyone else ask for the ramen.

The scampi, finally simmered and reduced down to a consistency that she liked, was the next thing to get a series of hand seals behind her back, poured over them. The bowl came to a simmer, as she added the shrimp to it, and made sure that they were pink, then added more sea-food besides. Some octopus, some calamari, some cod, and some oysters were all added, in equal parts to the dish. The ramen was sent to the Muramasa twins, and the scampi, once spread over noodles, were sent to the man who was known as the host of the phantom beast, Shinjiro. She wondered, once again, whether her cuisine would satisfy the patrons or not.

Too much to do and too little time to lolligag around, she busied herself once more in the kitchen. She wondered whether or not any of the patrons had noticed her practicing her Tabemono Iijutsu art with their cuisine yet. Not that it really mattered all that much, they were just parlour tricks, each one only held the strength of a normal human in them. They wouldn’t even be enough to light anything on fire, just for show.

Back to work.

She reviewed the list of orders:
Ramen for Ichiro,
A dish with rice, fish and cream for the lady that was with Fuhen,
Waiting on an order from the girl with brown hair, ordered sake,
No order yet for Akihiko,
No order yet for Kinomichi, seated with Shinjiro,
One of everything for Nozomi,
Nothing yet for the man with long blond hair and a blond beard,
A boba tea for the new girl.

New girl?

Looking up she counted the patrons once more and her heart lept up into her throat as she saw Hanako at one of the tables. She looked glum, all alone, and quite out of place. She wrote a quick note to Hanako, sending it with a butterfly out the back of the restaurant. It had instructions to make a half-mile circle with the note, before honing in on Hanako herself. It would take a good five to ten minutes for the small thing to find its way back to Hanako. The note was simple, “My dear Hanako, I live, meet me at my hotel room three hours after the restaurant you’re currently in closes. Your sensei.” It wasn’t sealed, and held her hotel room. She knew that the butterfly wouldn’t be easily waylaid and hoped that she was discreet enough with the letter, having it pass out the back and take such a round-about way back to the girl.

She cleared her throat as she continued with the orders, numbly working through the motions as she continued to form her opinions of what she had done to her pupil. She wondered whether or not Hanako would forgive her. Whether she was even worth forgiving. She had, after all, gone off to Kirigakure without the poor girl, and wondered whether or not Hanako even- had even- would even want her back for her sensei. She shook her head. Best to let this be and continue with the dishes. She wondered whether or not the girl that she had all but adopted would be as high profile as she was. She also wondered what kind of things she had heard, what other influences that she had in that time.

Placing the dish that the lady had ordered, the odd one with the fish, cream, fruit, and rice in front of the shogun and his wife, she looked once more to the orders. She nodded to herself and spooned up some ramen for Ichiro and continued to make the other things on the menu, all the while covertly weaving seals over them, making them only a little potent, lacking any sort of strength or the capacity for harm, but rather trying to make sure that their flavor profile was perfect. That they were the right consistency, that the noodles were al-dente, the meats were tender, the vegetables were crisp, and the fruit wasn’t spoiled.

That was when she noticed the girl standing in the corner. She sent the bigger of the two boys to go and assist her into a chair. She knew that the customs of some of the countries were different than Kumogakure no Sato where she had grown up and required for you to wait for a seat at a table. She, however, had said to one of the boys to put on the sign outside, “please seat yourself” Apparently he hadn’t. She would have to cuff him for that later on.

All the while, pots sang as they bubbled and frothed, the kettle for tea for the Aisu came to a boil and she had the lad run over a hot cuppa for him to taste at his leisure, and she whisked the dessert options into being, fluffing frosting, taking cakes out of the oven, and overall moving about the kitchen with the practiced steps of a dancer, with the tirelessness of the inhuman thing she had become.

Akihiko noticed Chiaki and smiled at her. Although he hadn't seen her around the village, he hasn't had any negative interactions with her. So with a simple smile, the pink haired delinquent would take a seat at a booth. When the child sat down, he couldn't help but bump himself up once his butt hit the seat. What a delight! The boy didn't often get to do things on his own. Although there was most likely people outside, Aki liked to use the mind set: out of sight out of mind. Since his legs didn't hit the ground he would swing them up and down. With every stride down he would hit his feet against the end of the booth.

The young child looked at the menu that was waiting for him at the table in front of where he sat. With excitement he read the whole menu. After a thorough read, Akihiko was simply exhilerated. He waited for Chiaki to walk by. The pink haired genma host would waive with both hands. "Hi Chiaki! Long time no see! You work here right?" Once she answered, Aki wouldn't be able to hold his excitement as he blurted out his order. "Okay, could I get one of every desert? I need to eat everything. I promise I won't share." An excited face turned into a devious devilsh smirk. Little to say, Aki thought he was showing off.

Chiaki, in her purple hair, with different dimensions and physical attributes stared at akihiko before giving him the smile of someone who has been mistaken for someone else, but is going with it, "I'm the owner of the restaurant, aye, and it's flatterin' to know that there's someone in your life that I look like ta be sure." She said, her accent thick as she nodded.

"One a every dessert, ye got it. What kinda drink would ye like with tha'?" She took out a pen and paper, looking to the kitchen where she had come out of and was waiting for the other dishes, especially the gyudon to finish simmering, "ye'd probably like somethin' ta cut through the sweet, aye?"

With all the chaos and turmoil in the shinobi world, the Iron Banner festival provided a much-needed respite. Caliban understood the risks involved in attending such an event, but he was never one to shy away from a chance encounter with shady characters. And so, he found himself standing in front of the vibrant restaurant named "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow."

Caliban had embraced the festive atmosphere, donning a ceremonial kimono that showcased a mural of floating paper lanterns. His usual attire had been replaced with something more flamboyant, and he had even tied his hair up in a bun. To add a touch of mystery, he wore clear shades that shielded his pearlescent eyes from view.

Shortly after Caliban arrived, Aurayumi joined him, also dressed in eye-catching attire that deviated from her usual style. Her monochrome hair was adorned with a braided tiara, and small flower decorations added a delicate touch. But it was her choice of clothing that truly stood out—a skimpy peridot kimono, complementing her mesmerizing eyes. It was a departure from her usual modesty, and she couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable.

As they walked into the restaurant, engaging in lighthearted banter, Aurayumi wondered if the place would have food fights, secretly hoping for an excuse to discard her unconventional outfit. Meanwhile, Caliban scanned the bustling establishment, his eyes alighting on a charming table on the balcony. A warm smile graced his face as he guided Aurayumi forward, gently nudging her by the waist.

"This spot seems fitting for the occasion. And I must say, you look absolutely ravishing," Caliban remarked, his words filled with genuine admiration. Aurayumi's face contorted into a comical expression of surprise and embarrassment, resembling a chibi character. Her thoughts raced, realizing the significance of the moment.

"W-we're on a date!" she silently exclaimed, her heart fluttering with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.

As they settled into their balcony table, taking in the lively ambiance of the festival, their conversation flowed effortlessly. They perused the menu, engaging in playful debates about what to order. Aurayumi's initial discomfort gradually faded as the allure of the festival atmosphere and Caliban's presence enveloped her.

Amidst the laughter and shared moments, Caliban couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the evening. The festival provided a temporary escape from the weight of their responsibilities, allowing them to embrace the simple joys of companionship and connection. The world around them seemed to fade into the background as they focused solely on each other.

And as the night grew darker, the atmosphere filled with enchantment. The twinkling lights of the lanterns and the distant sound of music created an ethereal backdrop for their budding relationship. Caliban felt a sense of serenity and contentment, knowing that their journey together was just beginning.

But for now, the evening was theirs to cherish—a delightful interlude in the midst of chaos. They reveled in each other's company, savoring the delicious food, and building memories that would linger in their hearts.

It was getting late and little Fukusha Maho was currently in search of a place to eat. Earlier that day she had gotten money from her parents and went off to wander the festival on her own. With that said she was certain there was someone working in the shadows as supervision. She was after all still only a child even if she was a Genin and Mama had been rather nervous about letting her go off by herself. A bit of time had passed since then and while she had been having fun, it was eventually brought to an end by her stomach rumbling.

Eventually she came across a nice looking restaurant, a quick peek inside showing it was rather packed. A more shy child might have walked away but she was only excited at the prospect of being around so many kinds of people. And so she cheerfully walked inside and took a seat at a table, her short legs dangling as she looked around at all the different people, thinking about what to order all the while. She wanted something sweet but it was dinnertime. Surely there was some kind of workaround...

It was as she was having these thoughts that she finally noticed a girl standing all by her lonesome looking nervous and unsure of what to do. Wanting to help she got up from her seat and skipped over towards the girl, grabbing her hand without hesitation. "Come on, we can eat together. No need to be shy!" she joyfully chirped as she led the way back to her table. I'm Fukusha Maho by the way!"

Feeling satisfied with her good deed, she climbed back up into her chair, finally knowing what she wanted to do with her order. "We'll just order as much as we can possibly eat. We can share it all!" she happily proclaimed to her new companion, feeling proud of herself for the thought. Surely Mama would be proud of her for being helpful and even for getting dinner all by herself.
