[NPC] Kisama, Oban

Post by Zao » Fri Jan 14, 2022 3:49 pm

Kisama, Oban
Mother

『The world will bow to my tools.』

General Information Age: 32
Gender: Female
Height: 7' 0"
Weight: 200lbs
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Oban has long, thick red hair, often kept out of the way by being pushed into a loose ponytail, or sometimes braided together ritualistically before a battle or special occasion. Her face is quite well-defined and sharp, with the exception of a relatively cute button nose. Her expression is usually one of boredom, or of a confident smirk, sure of her place in the world. A single ugly jagged scar on her face just below her left eye frames her face well.
  • Body: Her body is muscular and well defined, especially in her forearms and biceps. Her strong frame is kept routine over her entire body with ridiculous musculature only achieved through a lifetime of hard work. Oban's body is also riddled with all manner of scar tissue, some minor stretch marks where her belly has grown in the past from pregnancy, and a series of battle scars inflicted by an unknown number of instruments of war.
Clothing/Accessories: Oban's clothing usually consists of hand-me down leathers, usually an open jacket with bindings underneath to keep her properly concealed. Much like her hair, she sometimes ritualistically dons fighting clothing consisting of much nicer clothing, ready for it to be torn to pieces and reduced to casual wear while working instead.
Personality:
  • General: Oban is quite rude and crass to everyone she speaks to, whether they be of higher station or lower, or even if they have her utmost respect. Largely unafraid to speak her mind even when doing so could put her life at risk, her loyalties only lie in those that have earned it, never before having bowed to a king.
  • Hopes/Dreams: The Kisama head hopes to lead her family to glory so that their names may be spoken with pride and their projects looked upon with reverie.
  • Fears: Oban fears only that her work may be in vain, and that despite the ordeals she has pushed her loved ones through, her goals may not come to fruition.
  • Combat Mentality: Ever the quick thinker, Oban lures enemies into a false sense of security with her reckless first strikes, but simply uses this as a distraction as she prepares her tools for surprise strikes and rapid retaliation.

Abilities and Concentrations
Oudouchi:
A previously nomadic tribe that have begun to settle in the confines of New Tea country, the Kisama clan are known for being drunks, fighters, monsters, and geniuses, all due in part to their Oudouchi bloodline. Their unique chakra and unique blood mixes with any amount of alcohol in their systems, causing their body to shift and transform to their will, taking on new shapes and appearances. Through the use of associated taijutsu the clan member may shift different parts of their body at a speed equal to their own into various different weapons and tools. All transformations must be non-biological in nature, but a seemingly endless number of effects may be achieved within the creativity and knowledge of the clan member. These transformations need not be limited to staying on their body, with advanced techniques allowing them to put out tools and parts from their body with a weight in kilograms equal to their strength. All such creations have a strength equal to the strength of the clan member. While the clan member needs alcohol in their system to perform these techniques, all that is required is a small sip at any point during the day to power them for the rest of the day, many turn to alcoholism of their own volition, however.

OudouchiShow
Oudouchi 🔩 Thieves' Tools
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By focusing their blood to their fingers, the Kisama clan member will turn their fingers on both hands into a set of lockpicks and associated tools necessary to make such things work. Using these, most simple locks will be opened with nearly a snap of the fingers, but more advanced locks will take time and knowledge to properly decipher and open, unless the user has seen the key used to open the lock.

Oudouchi 🔩 Warrior's Tools
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By focusing their blood to their hands, the Kisama clan member will turn one or both of their hands into a simple weapon of their choice, ranging from small daggers to full-sized war hammers.

Oudouchi 🔩 Brass Carapace
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By focusing their blood over the entirety of their body, a piece of natural armor will sprout from their body in a place of their choice. While possible to create full body armor with this technique, each section (head, arms, legs, chest, etc) must be created one at a time.

Oudouchi 🔩 Hands-Free Launcher
B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By focusing their blood into their chest, a projectile launcher of choice will form in the chest of the clan member, loaded with ten pieces of ammunition. Being naturally formed in their body, the strength this launcher fires is no greater than the strength of the clan member. With half the normal effort, the clansmen may refocus on this technique to restock the ammunition.

Oudouchi 🔩 Precision Parts
B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Able to now pull their blood from their body, the clansmen can use this to perform battlefield modifications on weapons using the [weapon crafting] or [weapon enchanting] concentrations on the fly, effectively acting as a living forge. This also allows the clansmen to spit out other precision parts that don't necessarily have a combat purpose, such as finely crafted gears or sprockets.

Oudouchi 🔩 Siege Weapons
A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Pulling their brass blood from their body in multiple different draws, the clansmen will quickly assemble a siege weapon with several different parts and components, and ten pieces of ammunition for it. These siege weapons are large brass constructs on wheels that fire large explosive spheres, each with an explosive speed equal to the clansman's speed and impacting with a strength equal to their own. As with all projectile launchers, these can only be effectively fired with the strength to do so.

Oudouchi 🔩 Transportation
A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Pulling their brass blood from their body in multiple different draws, the clansmen will quickly assemble a vehicle of choice. This can be either a simple covered wagon, a train car that runs on rails, or one of the newer steam-powered tractors that have begun to become common in Tea country. The speed these vehicles can move is no greater than the speed of the clansmen, and while they can cart many people around quickly, they are impossible to use properly in combat with this technique due to their prototype nature.

Oudouchi 🔩 Mass Prodution
S-Rank Taijutsu Stance
By sitting still and concentrating hard on their craft as a living forge, the clansmen can output equipment at twice the normal rate, effectively acting as a one-person production line. This is often used ritualistically in groups with each member focusing on a single piece of a larger project, but can be done solo to output large amounts of product that the member already knows how to make.
ShindenShow
*[Shinden • Swaying Peltandra]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The use of larger swords and hafted weapons often makes close-quarters maneuvering of the practitioner's weapon more difficult. By placing one hand on the pommel/butt of the hilt or low section of the weapon's haft, the user is able to more easily maneuver, twist, slide, and flip their weapon in close quarters to cover a wider range of offensive and defensive options, using the second hand to give full power to their attacks and techniques. This Discipline represents the practitioner's mastery of this basic concept, allowing them to lessen the impact of their weapon's natural blind spots and weaknesses.

*[Shinden • Ambidexterity]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.

*[Shinden • Swaying Cattail]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength.
A practitioner of Shinden must be able to control their weapon as easily as their own breath. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to both change the orientation of their weapon to cover a different part of their body while spinning said weapon and to immediately change the direction said weapon is spinning without loss of defensive or offensive momentum.

*[Shinden • Snapping Turtle]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Charging at the opponent, the practitioner grips the weapon's hilt or haft with one hand and rests their other hand on the pommel or butt of the haft or hilt with the other. As they drive their weapon forward in a thrust, the practitioner quickly torques the muscles in their forearm, wrist, and hand on the pommel/butt of the weapon and spin the weapon in their hand like a drill, greatly increasing the penetrative power of the thrust as they drive it into the opponent's guard and, hopefully, through their bodies. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will cause hairline fractures, localized inflammation, and minor internal bleeding.

*[Shinden • Toad Lash]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
The practitioner will momentarily dig the tip of their weapon into the ground, quickly build a large amount of tension in their muscles. The practitioner will then release the tension into a wide, sweeping cut in any single direction, curving away from the ground to avoid lodging their weapon into the ground if choosing an overhead swing. If the practitioner's Strength is 5 higher than the opponent's Endurance, this technique will knock the opponent up or away a number of meters equal to the practitioner's Strength in addition to the damage normally taken from this technique. The practitioner can immediately transition into a defensive weapon spin to shore up openings after the technique if they wish.

*[Shinden • Toad Boils]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
The practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush the opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

*[Shinden • Turtle Shell]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
Momentarily torquing their muscles in their arms, the practitioner slams their weapon's blade or tip down into the ground, releasing the tension in a violent rotation as it plunges into the ground. Depending on the terrain, a doubled circular wall of large twisting rocks, stone, and bedrock will be uplifted and erupt from the ground, potentially striking opponents and providing a defense against attacks and projectiles. These slabs of earth have a Strength equal to the practitioner's Strength, but they only remain for four posts.

*[Shinden • Alligator Skin]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Shinden practitioners learn how to handle their large weapons so accurately that they wield them as proficiently as any normal warrior with a smaller weapon. This Discipline represents the practitioner’s capacity to seamlessly fight with their two-handed weapon of choice as if it were a one-handed weapon. This allows them to perform quicker, more complex movements, guards, and attacks with their weapon of choice without any penalty related to the size or weight of the weapon.

*[Shinden • Alligator Jaw Vice]
B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 25 Strength, 25 Speed, *[Shinden • Toad Boils].
An improvement on its parent technique, the practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush them opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can also incorporate quick thrusts to further pressure the opponent or counterattack, increasing the effectiveness of the defense the technique provides. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

*[Shinden • Twisting Alligator]
B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 35 Strength, 25 Speed, *[Shinden • Snapping Turtle].
One of Shinden’s most lethal techniques, the practitioner points their weapon toward the opponent, one hand at the base of the hilt or haft of the weapon and the other on the butt/pommel of the hilt or haft. Momentarily torquing their muscles, the practitioner violently spins the weapon in their grip. The strength of the rotation causes a vacuum to occur at the tip of the weapon, drawing any opponent in within a 25-meter radius with a Strength equal to 1/2 the practitioner’s Strength, rounded down. Should an opponent be close enough, the practitioner will charge and violently thrust their weapon in and through the opponent, the vacuum increasing the lethality of the thrust.

*[Shinden • Hand of the Titan]
A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
An unusual technique within the Shinden style, this technique is meant to not slay an opponent, but to remove them from the battlefield instead. Torquing the muscles in their body, the practitioner will catch the opponent with a non-lethal thrust or swing, often striking the opponent with the flat of their blade if possible. Then, releasing the pent up force in their muscles into a violent spin, the practitioner rotates rapidly before launching the opponent up or away a great distance. Any opponent caught in this technique will be launched a number of meters equal to 20 x the practitioner's Strength stat in meters at a speed equal to the practitioner's Strength stat. If the practitioner uses this attack in a lethal manner, the maximum distance the opponent can be launched is equal to the practitioner's Strength stat. The opponent must have higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength to resist the launching effect. The opponent can still potentially suffer injury from the strike itself and from any collision and fall damage they may suffer as they are flung through the air.

*[Shinden • Titan's Crushing Grip]
A-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 30 Strength, 30 Speed.
Momentarily torquing every single muscle in their body, the practitioner generates an immense amount of force in their body. Then, after launching a preliminary attack, the pent up force is released, causing the practitioner to instantaneously launch a second attack at their maximum speed, essentially landing two attacks in the same time frame it would normally take to launch one. In order to defend against this attack, the opponent must have equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength. Otherwise, this double-attack will rend through the opponent's defenses, possibly even breaking weapons and armor as the attack cleaves the opponent or runs them through.

*[Shinden Ougi • Entropic Graveyard
S-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 39 Strength, 39 Speed, must be learned at the Marsh Country Dojo or taught by someone who has trained there, 10 Shinden Kenjutsu techniques.
A superlative demonstration of the practitioner's strength and speed, the practitioner torques every single muscle in their body, generating an enormous amount of potential energy in their muscles. Then, the practitioner slams their weapon into the ground, cracking and sundering the very earth beneath their feet. All terrain with a radius of meters equal to the practitioner's Strength will immediately shatter and be shot twisting upwards at a Speed equal to the practitioner's Strength and with a Strength equal to 4/5 the practitioner's Strength, rounded down. The nature of this technique causes a massive, immediate crater in the effect area of the technique, and opponents can be quickly damaged or even killed by the large amount of rock, stone, and earthen debris. Only a small area around the practitioner will be left untouched.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Oban began her life traveling on the road with her family, as they moved from town to town, drinking them under the table, and inevitably either leaving of their own volition or being chased out for drunken rowdiness or simply for their freakish natures. She grew up initially resentful of the people outside of her family, secure in their homes, and spiteful of the distaste they had on their tongues when speaking of her family.

Like all members of her clan, she was raised by the community rather than a specific pair of parental figures, and this socialized her within her family quite well, but left her pretty unfamiliar with the niceties of the proper world. Thankfully, the communal education provided by the elders of the family made her knowledge base grow quickly as a little girl, inspiring her to look deeper into her abilities to impress her peers.

As time went on, Oban earned the respect of her family and quickly grew to something of a clan head, if any such position existed in the ragtag group of tinkerers. From the young age of 25, she took leadership in where her clan was directed, what to do with dissidents inside their camps, and leading discussions about where to take themselves physically as they moved from country to country.

When the war began, a group of rogue ninja cornered her group and proceeded to hunt them, whether it was for sport or otherwise was never brokered out. While the Kisama fought valiantly, their numbers were not great and they couldn't hold the ninja off forever. In the thirteenth hour, Fuhen and his group of samurai within the Kobushii Kaishuu lent a hand, saving them in the nick of time from the brink of destruction. With Fuhen's group also being nomadic, a handshake agreement was made to help each other get through to the end of the war, and part ways afterward.

As the war waged on and the two groups couldn't find peace anywhere, Fuhen's prowess as Shogun was proven time and time again, and while neither the men nor women of the clan married by their nature, another handshake agreement was made. Oban and Fuhen would help each other to achieve their respective goals.
