Reiketsukan, Kenta
Beast of the Blizzards

It ain't fun if it's easy, Ha Ha!

General Information Age: 32
Gender: Male
Height: 7'2
Weight: 400 lbs
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Given the gratuitous amount of hair flowing from his scalp and chin, many might mistake Kenta for a beast at a distance. His long, white beard flows down to his chest, and wild, unkempt white hair falls in tangles around his head. At most, the man might chop his bangs off to be able to see better, but otherwise his hair is hardly ever groomed or trimmed.
  • Body: Kenta sports the body type of most 'strong men' types; Very large, broad shoulders, with an incredibly bulky torso covered with rippling muscles. His legs are built like tree trunks, thick muscle and fat covering his thighs and calves.
  • Notable Features: Kenta's body is covered almost entirely with thick, coarse white hair, leaving his pale white flesh almost completely hidden underneath the forest of fur. In addition, the man is exceptionally tall and burly, and his striking blue eyes are as icy cold as the lands he hails from.
Clothing/Accessories: Kenta roams around in little clothing most days, content to bare his hairy chest to the world. He does wear pants typical of a Gi, with a rope tied around his waste as a belt that dangles in front of his hip. On occasion or when required, the man will don a polar bear skin cloak, it's mouth resting atop his head as the large cloak covers his entire body.
Personality:
  • General: Despite his imposing figure, Kenta is a very happy person to be around. The life of a party, Kenta is known for his boisterous attitude, his uproarious laughter commonly rising above the standard conversations in the nearby area. Never one to back down from a challenge, Kenta is always pushing himself and those around him to improve themselves or undertake new and exciting prospects to see what may come of them. Of course, the man also takes great joy in fighting, be it for serious purposes or just because they can. Oftentimes, he'll default to a spar or fight just to break the ice with new people, as he sees it as the quickest way to get through the awkwardness and really get to know someone. Fiercely loyal to those who earn his trust, Kenta is always one that can be relied upon to put his absolute all into everything that he does, especially when helping his allies realize their dreams.
  • Hopes/Dreams: To fight strong enemies and make strong allies.
  • Fears: Being crippled, unable to enjoy the life he's been living.
  • Combat Mentality:Kenta is an overwhelming force of physical nature, defaulting to his bare fists for most of his combat needs, as most traditional weaponry can't handle his Kekkei Genkai. In addition, his hardened body is capable of withstanding untold punishment without giving way, and the Kekkei Genkai of his people serves him well as both an offense and defense, allowing him to freeze his opponent's solid before beating them down.

Abilities
First Ability: HiyaaseThe kekkei genkai of the Reiketsukan clan can primarily be described as a mutation of the small intestine and liver, which as they absorb water either directly from drinking, or indirectly from food, converts the liquid into a nitrogen like substance which in turn makes all of their bodily fluids the same substance. This means that their body naturally produces what is essentially liquid nitrogen, meaning that almost all of their bodily fluids will freeze solid and liquid substances on contact. The strength of this power usually increases as the Reiketsukan clan members age, represented by increasing in strength with their stat total. Clan members are slightly immune to their own nitrogen, meaning that simply sweating, bleeding, or etc doesn't harm them, but any significant force behind it (such as an actual attack) will still cause the usual effects on them. These effects are best manipulated through special taijutsu techniques, though those who begin to learn the ninja arts may also find it reasonable to use ninjutsu to manipulate it. THe use of this ability through means of Taijutsu still drains from the Reiketsukan member's chakra pool and endurance, though not as much as more intense bodily powers such as "Heavenly Body" Taijutsu techniques. Those who manipulate Hiyaase through ninjutsu techniques exert their chakra pool as normal, and can utilize their control stat to increase the strength of the Hiyaase, regardless of their stat total.
Hiyaase StrengthShow
Hiyaase Strength
Stat Total/ControlEffect
40+/1+Organic material contacted by Hiyaase becomes red and irritated, mostly being incredibly distracting (First degree frostbite). Inorganic material contacted by Hiyaase becomes slightly more brittle, weakening it's strength by 3 in regards to it's defense.
80+/10+Organic material contacted by Hiyaase becomes frozen down deep, turning white (Second degree frostbite). Flesh affected will usually have multiple blisters appear. Flesh is cold enough to actually feel warm rather than cold, but becomes incredibly itchy and irritated. Inorganic material becomes moderately more fragile, weakening it's strength by -6 in regards to it's defense.
120+/15+Organic material contacted by Hiyaase become frozen down to the fatty tissue, flesh affected will begin to turn black from the severe cold, and all feeling will be lost after 2 posts of gestation (Third degree frostbite.) Inorganic material freezes up to a foot deep, becoming far more fragile, Weakening it's strength by -9 in regards to it's defense.
160+/25+Organic material contacted by Hiyaase freezes so rapidly that flesh does not have time to react and turn black as the previous stage, but rather turning just about anything into pure ice. Flesh affected will usually have multiple blisters appear on contact, immediately become completely without feeling, though areas near the contacted flesh will feel an intense burning/itching pain. Inorganic material will freeze completely up to 3 feet deep, making it far easier to break, weakening it's strength by -12 in regards to it's defense.
200+/35+Organic material freezes all the way through, turning even bone into pure ice almost immediately upon contact. All feeling and motor control is gone, as the tissue damaged by Hiyaase is essentially frozen solid, rendering muscle, tendon and bone unusable unless healed somehow. Inorganic material freezes completely up to 5 feet deep, turning even steel as brittle as glass, weakening it's strength by -15 strength in regards to it's defense

The fundamental skill of [Perception] describes the user’s practiced methods of more keenly focussing their senses for a short time. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.
Heavenly Body Control:
The fundamental skills of [Heavenly Body Control] cannot be mastered by those with less than 35 Endurance, , Strength and Speed. These skills include those required to create almost ninjutsu-equivalent effects simply from the movement of one’s body such as animal shaped blasts of compressed air from especially positioned hands and other similar feats which are beyond reality. This facilitates their use of related Taijutsu.

General TaijutsuShow
Numbing Chill
A-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: [Rigid Structure]
The harsh path that Kenta has lived has been pathed with a litany of bumps, bruises, scars and tears. Naturally, this has lead to a deadening of nerves and incredibly high tolerance for pain over the years, allowing Kenta to push pain aside as if it were merely another form of sensory input and fight as though he hasn't endured any injury. This does not actually prevent him from being injured of course - it merely dulls his pain response to the point that his ability to act isn't hampered.

[Snowfield]
A-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Prerequisites: Reiketsukan Kekkei Genkai
The Reiketsukan practitioner will enter a state of constant movement, causing their body to produce an endless amount of sweat. As this sweat builds up, it will disperse into the air. This causes their Hiyaase to enter the air around them as their sweat permeates the air, subjecting anything within the area to the full effects of the Reiketsukan's Hiyaase strength. Upon the first post of activation, the area of this effect is only 1 meter in diameter, but for every post the clan member maintains this stance the range increases 2 meters, to a maximum range of 15 meters. In addition, for every post the Reiketsukan member maintains this stance, they themselves are subject to a much weaker version of their own Hiyaase, enduring the effects of the first stage of frostbite for as long as this stance remains active. The practitioner can maintain this stance for [Endurance]/2 posts.

Frozen Body
S-Rank Tajutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: [Heavenly Body], [Rigid Structure], 35 Endurance
Decades of the harsh life of Frost Country has conditioned Kenta's body to handle the roughest of abuse, as if the intense cold of the land has seeped into Kenta's very flesh. This manifests in the form of his toughened skin, which is stronger than steel in some cases, as more than once an opponent's blade has literally shattered against his body. In order to pierce Kenta's flesh, an attack must carry more strength than Kenta's [Endurance] -5, otherwise his flesh will withstand the blow without even breaking. Should an opponent's strike be within 5 strength of Kenta's [Endurance], the blow will penetrate his flesh, but not go nearly as deep as the attack normally would. Blows exceeding his [Endurance] will pass through his body as normal.
Strong FistShow
Strong Fist:
This style focuses on being overall more physically powerful than your opponent. Users attempt to overwhelm defenses with great speed and strength while chipping away at their opponent’s endurance and keeping their own at the highest possible. Most attacks are simple in execution but extremely powerful in effect, causing battles of attrition to be in their favor.
Requires:
  • [Close Quarters Combat] Concentration
*[Strong Fist Style • Balance]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
A neutral stance taken by even entry level practitioners. This stance involves turning your body to be perpendicular to your opponent. One foot is rested directly in front of the other with just the toes in contact with the ground. A hand is held back while the other is forward, pointing up. This stance provides ease of dodging incoming blows by using the least amount of motion possible while still being ready to launch into an attack.

*[Strong Fist Style • Leaf Gale]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple sweeping kick aimed low to knock the opponent off balance.

*[Strong Fist Style • Dynamic Entry]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
In this technique, the user builds momentum and speed in order to bridge the gap between themselves and a distanced target. After covering an appropriate distance, the user then lets loose a form of distraction, like a thrown object, in order to misdirect the target's attention. The user then leaps with their momentum, delivering a strong kick to bridge the rest of the distance.

*[Strong Fist Style • Dynamic Action]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Because distances tend to become the problem in most taijutsu, the practitioner will advance with every strike. This creates a tempo of advancement that is designed to wear down their opponent through ever pressing strikes, giving little chance for escape or recovery.

*[Strong Fist Style • One Inch Punch]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
When fighting in close quarters it becomes difficult to generate energy for full powered strikes. Practitioners have learned how to explode force from every muscle with minimal energy wasted and space needed. Every strike done by the practitioner has the potential to be at full strength, so long as they have at least one inch of movement.

*[Strong Fist Style • Great Leaf Flash]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: *[Strong Fist Style • Balance]
The user will tense the muscles in their lower body to a great degree. Doing so causes them to briefly become immobile but creates an enormous amount of pent up energy. By bringing their back leg forward in a straight kick they release all of this energy in a single explosive burst that will knock a kicked foe back a number of meters equal to the difference in their strength and the practitioner's.

*[Strong Fist Style • Great Leaf Whirlwind]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
A combination attack started by the user unleashing a powerful kick to the side of their opponent. They will then place themselves behind the target and unleash a quick flurry of punches before kicking another side and repeating the process. This process can keep going ad infinitum or until the practitioner disengages.

*[Strong Fist Style • Thunder Leaf Fist]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
An attack that is slow to wind up but powerful in execution. The adept tenses every muscle in their shoulders and arms while twisting their core for a powerful strike. For the 1/4 post they spend winding up they're treated as having a -6 speed. However, when the strike is released it comes at a +6 strength.

*[Strong Fist Style • Rising Leaf Wind]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
A kick meant to disrupt the opponent that can be launched from nearly any position. This kick is delivered quickly with +6 Speed but with -6 Strength and is aimed at any possible opening and extremely difficult to defend against, quickening the tempo the practitioner is keeping.

*[Strong Fist Style • Skyward Strike]
C-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
An often difficult attack to accomplish but good for setting up a string of further attacks. The user will sweep low, attempting to kick their target's feet from beneath them. Before they fall, a second kick will attempt to launch them airborne a number of meters equal to the difference in the practitioner's strength from their target.

*[Strong Fist Style • Leaf's Flashing Might]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Requiring a full post of charge time the user tenses their entire body in preparation, becoming immobile. During this time they will look for their direct path and position themselves with their fist pointed forward. At the end of the post they will release all of this pent up energy with extreme force, leaping nearly instantaneously a number of meters equal to their strength. This counts as a teleportation and cannot be done more than twice per thread.

*[Strong Fist Style • Herculean Leaf Whirlwind]
B-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
The user delivers an upward kick to their opponent, sending them high into the air. The user follows the opponent along their upward trajectory, taking tight hold of them so that they can't move or escape. Once they've reached the peak of the initial kick's arc, the user begins a spinning motion and propels them headfirst towards the ground. The user releases the opponent right before impact and retreats to safety, leaving the opponent to collide with the ground alone.

*[Strong Fist Style • Violence: Vajra Leaf Whirlwind]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 35 Strength or Speed
An attack meant to be used against multiple targets. By tensing every single muscle in the body the user can release a sweeping kick that disrupts the air around their leg. As the kick is unleashed it creates a wave of compressed air that moves outwards from them with Speed and Strength equal to 3/4 the user's Strength in a wide cone-like line. This line travels for 1/2 the user's strength in meters and grows just as wide at the end.

*[Strong Fist Style • Tornado Strike]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 35 Strength or Speed
By priming their core and legs the user will crouch down and come up with an extremely powerful uppercut made tight and close. This uppercut causes a miniature vortex to form in the area, sucking anything within 2 meters to be sucked back towards the strike with Strength equal to 3/4 the user's Strength.

*[Strong Fist Style • Hurricane Kick]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 35 Strength or Speed
A defensive kick designed by true adepts to ward against ranged attacks. By raising their leg over their head and sweeping it downwards, the user creates a powerful wall of wind that deflects most incoming attacks as if it was deflected with 3/4 their strength. The “wall” is directly in front of them and only as tall as they are, leaving their sides and back still undefended.

*[Strong Fist Style • Great Wind Strike]
S-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 35 Strength or Speed
The user focuses their power for a full post and releases it in a single powerful strike. Doing so sends a compressed air wave outward in a straight line that strikes with Strength and Speed equal to 4/5 the user's Strength. This air wave steadily grows in size reaching a total width of their Strength in meters at the very end of its travel.

*[Strong Fist Style • Great Vacuum]
S-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 35 Strength or Speed
The user strikes forward with so much speed as to launch a vacuum. This vacuum creates suction with Strength equal to 4/5 the user's Strength, pulling in everything within 15 meters. This suction is nearly instantaneous and can cause significant damage if living creatures are caught in the area, collapsing their lungs if their Endurance is 5 or more points lower than the Strength of the vacuum.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Kenta was born to the nomadic people of the Reiketsukan Clan, who wander Frost Country's northernmost lands, migrating alongside their game and harvesting grounds. As a child, the clan's seers foresaw a strange future for the boy, characterized by his white hair and blue eyes. Their prophecy was that the boy would grow to embody the very land of Frost Country itself, as if the land itself gave birth to the boy. As he grew, his size dwarfed that of other children his age, as did his strength - the boy quickly became one of the clan's most able bodied hunters. The early life for the boy was easy and full of joy...

But on the day of his 12th birthday, the boy was to undergo a coming of age trial - To wander the lands of Frost Country by himself, and come find his people again after one year had passed. He left with a smile on his face... but among the frozen wastes of the northern lands, something changed in Kenta. His body seemed to become one with the icy lands themselves, and before long, his very sweat would fall off and turn to ice. Within the body of Kenta, a Kekkei Genkai emerged that would come to be known as "Hiyaase". When he finally did return to his people over a year later, the seers who prophecized his changes were beyond pleased, and as the boy grew in age, so too did the power of his abilities and the strength of his sword arm. When he was of age, he challenged the head of his tribe to combat to lead them himself, and was victorious. He'd continue to lead his people for a good few years after coming to power, the pride of the Reiketsukan clan.

But eventually, tragedy struck his tribe in the form of a wasting, freezing sickness. Those afflicted would slowly but surely succumb to frostbite, their corpses freezing after death. Naturally, Kenta's power was to blame according to his people. They believed that he had been cursed by some frost spirit for stealing the power of the lands, and so his clan was cursed to freeze to death. Though he protested, there was no use; he would not slay his own people for rising up against him. With a heavy heart, the man left his people behind to wander the frozen wastes alone, pitting himself against the most powerful foes and searching the land in the hopes that one day he might find a cure for his tribe. Until then, all he could do was hone his strength and make the most of his life.

However, fortune found the man after only a few months of being exiled from his people. As he was hunting a powerful monster through the frozen tundra, Kenta made the acquaintance of a most peculiar man - A froggy man by the name of Iiyashi, Fuhen. After the two hunted down the monster together, the inspiration of Fuhen's leadership struck Kenta, and he soon surmised that if he had a shot of curing his people... perhaps he had to see the world at large. It made sense - Having lived in the Land of Frost his entire life, if there was a cure there, he should've found it. And so, Kenta happily joined along with Fuhen and followed the man back to his empire, so that he might work alongside comrades to save his people from their fate.
