Kyudo-ite, Kasuri
Little feather, Black-Star, Brightest Samurai, Deadeye

[Nindo]

General Information Age: 24
Gender: Female
Height:155 cm
Weight: 95 Pounds
Physical Features:
  • Face/head: Two teal orbs with particular shaped pupils, they open up to a Star shape, but when they are in bright light look normal to the other people around her. Almond shaped eyes, with a slender nose and pouting lips. Pouting lips are very subtle, not too big. She has high, almost non-existent cheekbones, with a pointed chin.
  • Body: She has a slender sprinter’s figure with lightly tanned skin from sitting or standing in the sun too long. She has a yellowish base tint to her skin. She has slender but stringy-muscled arms and strong wrists. Her right 3 forefingers have thick calluses on them and her left arm has a callus where the bowstring of Ayago sometime strikes her.
  • Notable Features:----
Clothing/Accessories: Long flowing dresses mostly, she sometimes wears a quiver, but most of the time she has Ayago, in Yumi Bow form slung over her shoulder in a protective case. Ayago can unzip the case at any time, allowing for quick maneuvering. If Ayago is not in bow form, she is in a small belt-knife form, attached to a cord that Kasuri has around her waist.

Personality:
  • General:Kasuri has a perfectionist personality, and usually trains for hours on end to get to the perfect rhythm. She believes that haste makes waste and does not like hasty people, decisions, or actions. She usually takes her time to get set up in a situation before going into action. Kasuri loves to sit in the silence and meditate to calm down from a training, and will usually allow others to get their piece in before she says anything, even if it means she risks not being heard.
  • Hopes/Dreams: Her hopes are to become the best marksman and swordsman in the world. Her dreams are to travel the world and start up competitions on marksmanship especially in Kyudo.
  • Fears: Kasuri fears that she will make a hasty decision and that it will lead to an outcome that she will have to live with, this can manifest in hesitation, and downright lock-mindedness when it comes to missions, or other scenarios. She doesn’t react as quickly as others, and usually tends to overthink the situation.
  • Combat Mentality:Kasuri likes to know where she is going, what she is aiming at, and does not like to be at the front lines. She would rather that other people scout for her, and is loathe to enter a building without knowing the layout first. If she does enter an unknown building, she will almost certainly try to memorize the layout first before interacting with the people inside. This can be seen as rude, as she has roaming eyes for a good second or two. She enjoys long ranged combat, but if forced to short range or CQC she fights like a caged tiger.

Weaver of Fate Ayago [綾悟], otherwise known as the weaver of fate, is a warrior spirit that has sworn fealty to the [Heart Empire]. In life, Ayago was the first Shogun who once ruled over the entire continent, and in death laments over the division of the world and wishes her webs to be used to unite it once again. The Weaver of Fate uses her webs to connect the past, present, and future, and allows its bonded warrior to do so as well. These jutsu mostly involve perceiving what happened in the past, what is happening in the present, or a possibility of what could happen in the future, but more advanced versions can effect how the present plays out, replay the past, or even attempt to rewrite the future.

Preferred form: In life, Ayago's favored weapon was an oversized yumi bow, and prefers such forms, but will morph to whatever weapon her bound user desires.

Influences: Those Ayago have bound herself to will find their chakra turning a pearly white color, and will start to see echoes of the past, from small things like someone walking down the street an hour ago, to larger ones like battles from years long gone.

Personality: Ayago is shrewd and calculating. She makes quick estimations of people based on what she sees of their recent past and soon-to-be future, and can seem cruel and cold to those she has deemed as having no value, but grandmotherly and kind to those she sees potential in.

Mastery: Mastering Ayago's powers allows one to access increasing levels of her time cognition, and offers the following boosts in strength.
  • Base Stage: 0 Mastery +3 Willpower always active, the user is able to create projectiles by pulling back the bowstring on Ayago’s bow forms (this includes crossbow, longbow, Yumi bow (primary), hand crossbow, needle launcher, etc. with a strength and speed equal to [Will Power]) user is able to make hand seals to change weapon shape.
  • Stage 1: 4 Mastery +5 Will Power, The user is able to channel chakra and make their weapon swap between weapon types. The user is able to catch glimpses of what may happen when concentrating for one entire post without interruption.
  • Stage 2: 14 Mastery +8 Will Power, +2 Strength. The user is able to swap weapons without the use of channeling, by only thinking about the weapon they need. They are able to glimpse what has happened in an area, as long as they use a sensory technique on an object in the area which has been disturbed recently.
  • Stage 2 Ascended: 20 Mastey +8 Willpower, +5 Strength, +1 Endurance. The user is able to glimpse possible futures should they follow a certain path in the next post, this is not 100% accurate, and requires that the user is stationary to perform at this rank. The projectiles launched from the projectile launchers that Ayago makes have +3 strength.
  • Stage 3:28 Mastery +8 Willpower, +5 Strength, +2 Endurance. In sword form, the user is able to rip a hole into the past, but not persuade it and look through the tear towards an area, being able to see up to 3 days into the past. The weapon is able to, in bladed forms, cause bleeding that must be staunched by Iijutsu of 2 ranks below techniques used by the blade.
  • Stage 4: 38 Mastery +8 Willpower, +7 Strength, +4 Endurance. The user is able to manifest multiple projectiles, up to [willpower/10] each time that the projectile launcher is reloaded, and is able to manifest another weapon with similar strength as a ‘copy’ of the original. This can be a sword and shield, or a set of swords, or a sword and dagger… etc. The user can also glimpse up to two weeks in the past from the tear that Ayago is able to make. They are able to catch brief glimpses of the future just by closing their eyes, it’s not 100% accurate, but gives a good representation of what could happen if the user performs a certain action without wasting too much time. This slows the user down, while utilizing this ability by -5 to speed but can be canceled at any time. The projectiles launched from the projectile launchers that Ayago makes have +6 strength.
  • Stage 4 Ascended: 50 Mastery +8 Willpower, +7 Strength, +5 Endurance, +5 Chakra Pool. The user is able to, one per thread, tear open the present and make an exact replica of themself, splitting, running, or advancing. Should either replica harm a human or spirit, they become the ‘present’ user, and the other user is erased from time. This also ends if either replica is killed in that time. The user then receives all information from the replica, converging the knowledge of their shared experiences. The intense mental strain this causes means it can only be used once per thread.

Flawless AimShow
*[Flawless Aim Style • Sentinel Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Taking multiple projectiles into hand and priming the muscle groups required for launching projectile weapons, the practitioner can quickly shoot projectiles in rapid succession and just as quickly reload. While in this Stance, the practitioner can maintain a near-constant stream of projectile attacks. However, due to the amount of coordination required for this Stance, their movement is limited, suffering a -3 Speed penalty while in this Stance.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Rapid Reload]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After years of training, the practitioner has learned how to quickly and accurately access their ranged weapon stores at all times in combat. This cuts the effective "reload" time by half, up to a maximum speed equal to the practitioner's Speed score. This also applies to returning unused projectiles to their storage containers or switching between types of projectile weaponry.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Tracking]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After much training and study, the practitioner has learned how to read an opponent's movements and adjust their aim accordingly to compensate without penalty. This Discipline allows the practitioner to accurately hit moving targets, though sudden changes in the opponent's movements will still affect accuracy.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Arcing Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner can launch projectiles in arcs up and over most obstacles, being able to accurately hit a target that is behind obstructions as if they were in the open. The practitioner must still be able to locate their target by some other means to ensure the projectile will hit its target.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Bouncing Shot]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner launches a projectile at a shallow angle, targeting the ground or a hard surface. The shallow angle of the shot causes the projectile to bounce off of the surface, moving at -1 Speed and striking with -1 Strength after the bounce. This technique can be used to launch an attack from an unexpected angle or to shoot around, over, or under obstacles.

*[Flawless Aim Style • Evasive Maneuvers]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
The practitioner has learned how to accurately launch projectiles while moving through the flow of combat. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to accurately launch projectiles while moving at full Speed, while jumping, rolling, sliding off the ground, or while performing other basic combat movements.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Forcible Redirection]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner first launches a projectile at -1 Strength. Then, they launch a second projectile at full Strength, targeting the first projectile. The second projectile ricochets off of the first projectile, capable of changing direction within 360 degrees of the location of the first projectile upon impact. The practitioner first launches a projectile at -1 Strength. Then, they launch a second projectile at full Strength, targeting the first projectile. The second projectile ricochets off of the first projectile, capable of changing direction within 360 degrees of the location of the first projectile upon impact. The second projectile is treated as an attack with a -5 Strength penalty.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Hidden Shot]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By launching two projectiles, one immediately after the other, the practitioner attempts to create a decoy for the second. The first projectile is often larger or of equal size, and the second projectile is slightly behind and below it, the second projectile hiding in the first projectile's shadow. This masks the second projectile and makes it more difficult for the opponent to completely avoid. Opponents with a Perception technique equal or higher in rank may be able to see both projectiles clearly within a reasonable distance, though they'll still have to properly defend against it.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Twisting Path]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Preparing a projectile, the practitioner launches the weapon with a slight tailspin, causing the flight path of the weapon to warp as it travels. The practitioner uses this slight change in the projectile's trajectory to hit a variety of targets that could not be targeted by normal means. This can be used to hit a target that is hiding behind another person or object, particularly useful against opponents behind human shields.
*[Flawless Aim Style • Sweeping Shot]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Momentarily crouching, the practitioner launches one or more projectiles in a low arc, the weapon(s) flying close to the ground before arcing up in a single direction when approaching the target. If the practitioner launches more than one projectile, their trajectories can cross over each other, making it difficult for the opponent to ascertain which projectile will rise up to strike them first.

*[Genjutsu • Pins and Needles]
D-Ranked Illusion Genjutsu
After performing the hand seals and pricking or hitting the opponent with some sort of small weapon (usually senbon), the opponent feels their arms and legs fall asleep. It feels as if the blood flow to these appendages has basically stopped, making their movements a tad sluggish and just all around uncomfortable. This jutsu doesn’t really hinder a person, but it makes everything they do feel off. For those who are attuned to the way their body feels during battle, it can be extremely distracting. Lasts 3 posts.
*[Genjutsu • Arrow to the knee]
D-Ranked Warp Genjutsu
After performing the hand seals the user fires their projectile launcher type weapon, making a loud ‘twang’ noise which permeates an area of 15 meters. The body reacts in pain as if it were hit by a projectile launched by the projectile launcher. This confers a -1 to speed stat as the victim of the jutsu thinks that they’ve been hit and need to tread more carefully. Lasts 3 posts.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Kasuri was born fifth in line to a Kyudo dojo, one which focuses on meditation and the force of spirit. The central tenants is that the arrow and the target are already one, and that the Kudoka (bowman) must bring the two together through a solemn duty. The Spirit of the Arrow must be reunited with the other half of it, the target, by use of the bow. The target could be something organic, or inorganic, but the arrow never goes amiss, just becomes one with its true target.

Her parents, both Kudoka, taught her that it wasn’t about the force behind the arrow, but that it would hit the target no matter what. Her parents could both hit a target that was almost half a kilometer away, blindfolded, by just sensing where the target was, and making sure that the arrow was reunited by it.

When Kasuri is within the dojo, she is a reserved, quiet, thoughtful woman who just listens to the goings on of the entire place. She almost never talks inside the dojo, and puts a finger to her lips towards anyone that breaks the sanctity of the meditation and spirit-will of the Kyudoka. She, herself, is an aspirant Kyudoka, and is already leagues above the ‘normal’ kyudoka, utilizing her samurai training to help her bend the arrows to her target.

Once, when she was sixteen, her mother said that a true Kyudoka does not need to use techniques to hit the target, as the arrow will know what to do. She tried and failed to hit the target four times after this advice, and her mother simply said, “Perfect shots, every one of them.” Picked up her own bow, closed her eyes and shot four direct bulls-eyes.

When Kasuri was eighteen, she was practicing her breathing in the Dojo when her bow in her lap snapped in half. She went to the closet, numbed by the experience to find that all of the bows in the dojo had snapped as well, all but one. She picked up the Yumi bow, and it thrummed in her head.

She instantly dropped it and backed away. “I am Ayago, the weaver of fate, and it is written that our fates are intertwined, for you are to be my next partner.” She gripped her ears, for the voice sounded loud, too loud to be in the room, it was in her head. She stared a long time at the bow before speaking, “I am Kasuri, what did you do to our bows?”

“I have waited eighteen years for you to be strong enough, and lucky enough to pick me up, and yet you didn’t choose me, time and time again. I just gave you a little nudge in the right direction.” The voice, feminine and smooth, sounded commanding and a little proud of itself.

“My parents are going to kill me.” Kasuri looked around the room before the voice spoke to her again.

“No time for that now, you are ready, pick me up.” Kasuri walked over to the bow, it hummed with power, and she found that there were no arrows.

“Not to worry.” The voice coaxed, “My arrows already know their targets.” She didn’t understand but Kasuri took up her stance, and pulled back the bow, finding that there was some resistance, she fired. She was told to never dry fire, so she flinched, but the arrow flew true, in a spiral and landed in the dead center of the target.

“My partner, we will do great things.” The bow, Ayago, said to her.

About three years later, she met the girl that she would form a long and enduring bond with, Akiko. They had been set together to hunt down a criminal that had stolen a treasure of the country. She was supposed to provide cover fire and support while Akiko stole the treasure back. It took a whole week of reconnaissance, intrigue, and hunger to find the culprit, but they finally did. The week seemed like hell at some times, and Kasuri thought she would die a couple of times, but when the nights were cold, Akiko was there warming her with her body, so that they didn’t have to light a fire.

When it came time, after their successful mission, to part ways, Kasuri finally stepped up and gave Akiko her address, “Look me up sometime.”

It was the start to a long and enduring friendship which blossomed to a ‘friends with benefits’ status just a little while ago. Now, Akiko setting her sights on higher heights, Kasuri wanted to keep up, and not be left behind. All she knew was the bow, but she believed, we all believe, that Kasuri is destined for great things. Whether they’re terrible or wonderful, only Ayago and time, can tell.
