Dark green eyes peer from beneath brows that always seem to be pulled together, giving her near permanent wrinkles. Her skin is tanned a warm brown. She has dark brown hair with just the slightest hint of auburn when in the sun. It’s cut shoulder length and lays completely straight, long strands left to frame her face. Her ears are pierced in several places with small silver hoops.
- Body: Years of training has given Misaki a slim, powerful body. She focused greatly on toning her body and getting strong while not growing too bulky to maintain her agileness. Hard work has left her body with less than perfection. Small scars litter her arms, legs, and back.

Personality:
- General: Misaki had always felt from a young age that she had no personality that was her own. She watched the way her parents acted and the way her older sister acted and desperately tried to mimic them so that she could feel what they felt. She learned what made them laugh and she became those things. Cheeky quips became her go to, the most random and obscure things she could think of, just to make her family laugh. She learned what emotions were unpleasant for them and kept them hidden even if it meant disappearing for a while until she had locked away the anger, sadness, or anything else. She envied the way her parents and sister threw these large emotions around so freely with consequences damned. She empathized with them, learning how to cheer them up or calm them down all while waiting for them to figure out how to do the same for her. Even now as an adult, Misaki molds her personality to those around her as it tends to make interactions easier.
When that isn’t an option, she tends to default to simply being nice and kind and saying a whole lot of nothing while talking. She cannot stand to see anyone be taken advantage of and is quick to become combative and argumentative if the need arises. She has never been able to tolerate much nonsense and is slow to be amused and has become quite unapologetic as she has gotten older. - Hopes/Dreams: Her biggest dream is to find her missing older sister one day. Knowing that to do this she will need great strength, her biggest hope it to become strong enough to accomplish her dream.

Misaki grew up in a small coastal town with her parents and her older sister. Her parents were both fishermen and had been since they were children, neither ever having joined the military. Her sister Shizuka, older by three years, hated the town they lived in and refused to join her parents in their endeavors at all. She stated that she was too beautiful and too fragile to even consider stepping foot on the docks and while it was obnoxious, she wasn’t even wrong. Shizuka had been beautiful from the day she was born according to their parents. They did nothing to hide their hope that they would be able to find a well off man to marry her to and save them all from the destitution they lived in.
Misaki had no such qualms against working with her parents and in fact, with Shizuka counting herself out from an early age she was left without much of a choice. But Misaki loved the hard work, the way she felt capable, the way her body stayed lean and grew strong. She always did whatever her parents asked of her whether it was running errands, lugging around the cart, cleaning the catch of the day or anything else they needed. And even though her older sister’s attitude could have formed a large rift between them Misaki adored her older sister. Idolized her, really. It never bothered her to come home smelling like the sea, bruised up from being pushed around by the men and the older boys who didn’t think she belonged down at the docks to be greeted by her pristine sister. Maybe it was because she was living her life in a way that made everyone else’s life easier or maybe it was because she knew her sister didn’t have it easy either.
She knew that her sister was in love with a boy at the school she attended but his life mirrored their own and he was not at all the type her parents would allow. She knew that her sister sneaked away from the house while Misaki and her parents were at the docks to see him. It was why she always wrapped her sister in a big hug when returning home and why even though Shizuka yelled at her, she never got pushed away. Afterall, her sister already smelled like the docks. It wasn’t a hard burden to carry for her sister, she deserved to be happy whether it helped the family or not. That wasn’t her responsibility.
By the time she was ten and her sister thirteen the tension in their home had grown nearly unbearable. Shizuka wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that she was going to marry this fisherman’s boy. Her parents were tired and grumpy all the time, harsh words falling from their lips faster than they could stop them. Misaki desperately tried to keep everyone together all while ignoring the deep pit that seemed to be forming inside of her every time she failed to fix things. When she was alone she fell deeper and deeper inside of herself, knowing that even if she could find the words to describe what was happening to her that no one would care or understand.
And then things got worse. One night, at the age of fourteen, Shizuka did not come home. And she did come home the next day, or the day after, or the day after that. Or ever. Her parents blamed that boy, saying that she ran off with him and abandoned them and they never once looked for her. Misaki cried and screamed and begged them to go look, to let her go look, or to do something but they refused every time. And every time Misaki tried to leave on her own to go search for her sister they brought her back and punished her harshly. She didn’t understand how they could accept this so easily. The men were always talking on the docks of criminals and how some of them stole children and sold them into slavery. But they wouldn’t even consider that an option and they told her to forget about it. But then one day, several months later, her sister’s boyfriend came to their city and found her. His eyes were teary and he didn’t stay to talk long. He had been looking for her sister and though he couldn’t find her he had found her one prized possession. A chain necklace with a sea snake charm. She had always told him, he relayed, that she planned on giving it to Misaki to remember her by, when she left and got married. So he thought it was only right that she had it.
Even with this proof that her sister had not run away, her parents still didn’t care. And so Misaki stopped caring about them. Anger took over and she threw everything she had into her schooling, studying hard and training hard.
