D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Soft Paws is a bare-handed deflection technique and is used against bladed weapons. At this level, the practitioner is able to read the angles of the attacks to place the flat of their hand against the flat of the blade and push it away without getting cut by the weapon. However, prolonged use of this technique will cause the practitioner to suffer bruises on their hands.
*Kūgāpou • Hunter's Prediction
C-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
By observing a weapon's movement through the air and having a deep understanding of weaponry in general, the practitioner is capable of predicting a weapon's trajectory. This technique is especially effective when the practitioner saw the actual moment the weapon was launched, as seeing the movement of the weapon wielder provides crucial information. If they didn't see the weapon being launched, they can still predict the trajectory to a smaller degree but are incapable of accounting for high-level taijutsu that may be applied to the weapon attack.
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After much training and study, the practitioner has learned how to use projectiles at close range, even point-blank range, with the same Strength as attacks against more distant targets. This Discipline allows the practitioner to use Flawless Aim techniques against melee-range targets without excessive exposure to counterattack and without losing Speed, Strength, or accuracy.
D-Rank Taijutsu Stance
The signature Stance of Toryu, practitioners relax the muscles in their bodies, gaining additional flexibility in their movements in how they approach the enemy, how they retreat, how they evade attacks, and how they attack the opponent. This Stance allows the practitioner to more easily read opponent's attacks and defend against them by evading in unusual ways, such as ducking, bending around, and quickly sidestepping attacks without needlessly exposing themselves to additional attacks. This fleet-footed Stance lets the practitioner mix up their movements to confuse and misdirect the opponent, allowing them to attack lesser-known openings in the opponent's guard. It also allows the practitioner to rapidly and reflexively change the angle, position and grip of their weapon with minimal movement, allowing them multiple manners in which they can attack the opponent or defend against attacks.
*[Toryu • Sundering Gravel]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength.
Designed as a counterattack but also a potent attack by itself, the practitioner will first wait to block or parry an opponent's attack with their weapon. Then, the practitioner will quickly counter with a swift knee strike to the opponent's stomach or diaphragm to stun them or cause them to stagger by winding them, followed by a quick slash or stab to their chest or stomach. The practitioner may choose to use this as an attack instead by immediately leading off with the knee strike if they so wish. Opponents with equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength can resist being winded.
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Because distances tend to become the problem in most taijutsu, the practitioner will advance with every strike. This creates a tempo of advancement that is designed to wear down their opponent through ever pressing strikes, giving little chance for escape or recovery.
*[Strong Fist Style • One Inch Punch]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
When fighting in close quarters it becomes difficult to generate energy for full powered strikes. Practitioners have learned how to explode force from every muscle with minimal energy wasted and space needed. Every strike done by the practitioner has the potential to be at full strength, so long as they have at least one inch of movement.
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite(s): 8 Strength.
A practitioner of Shinden must be able to control their weapon as easily as their own breath. This Discipline represents the practitioner's capacity to both change the orientation of their weapon to cover a different part of their body while spinning said weapon and to immediately change the direction said weapon is spinning without loss of defensive or offensive momentum.
*[Shinden • Stream Splitting]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple setup technique, the practitioner quickly and continuously spins their weapon in their hands, capable of switching their weapon between each hand if they wish. This technique can serve as a defense against projectiles and attacks, but its primary purpose is to set up the practitioner for their next attack or technique. Any attack or technique used after the practitioner uses this technique will be instantly launched at the practitioner's maximum Strength and Speed.
*[Shinden • Toad Skin]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Shinden users understand that the size of their weapons cause naturally occurring blind spots and have trained to shore up those weaknesses in their defense. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to more finely control the natural blind spots of their weapons, passively strengthening their defenses and even allowing the practitioner to bait ignorant opponents into traps. This Discipline also allows the practitioner to easily wield their preferred two-handed weapon with one hand, if applicable.
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisites 10 Strength, 10 Endurance, Shuryō Kekkai Genkai, Medicine, Stealth
Nagisa's shark-like Dermal scales not only can be suppressed only to cover small areas of his body like forearms and hand, but he can flatten them such as his prehensile tail allowing it to remain hidden. He can close his gills to otherwise hide them until needed. The scales have stacked and hardened over his fingernails, granting him 2-inch claws to go along with them
~[Fisher’s Delight • Flexing Muscle]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisites 10 Strength, Medicine, Shuryō Kekkai Genkai, Medicine, Deft Hands
Nagisa has been granted the ability to use his Hunter's Sense and the associated Jutsu while moving, bypassing the restriction to have to come to a standstill. He has gained the ability to freely expand upon the movement and growth of his Dermal scales, allowing his scales to rapidly grow across weapons and items that he touches, simply via flexing allowing the items to gain a coat of armor equal to the Dermal scales themselves as well as the passive (Grinding) effect added to them. The speed of the dermal scales' growth is equivalent to his [Speed] stat. The amount of time the scales can cover things other than himself is equal to his [Endurance]/2 and when the time limit is up, they simply fall to the ground, harmless and dulled.
~[Fisher’s Delight • The Hunt Continues]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
This jutsu is activated when the Shuryo focuses entirely on their Hunter's Sense. By concentrating completely and not moving at a speed greater than 1/2 their control, the Shuryo member may increase the range of their Hunter's Sense by 7 meters.
~[Fisher’s Delight • Shark Frenzy]
C-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Members of the Shuryo clan are able to give themselves over to their basic, animalistic, instincts. This allows them to enter into a feral state of mind where they lose all ability to determine friend from foe, but in return, gives them a +3 to their Speed, and Strength stats for six posts.
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Using Iaido to its fullest requires a keen eye and quick reactions, enabling its users to target weaknesses and openings that their opponents present almost instantaneously. This Discipline represents the practitioner's ability to attack openings that present themselves, the practitioner now able to reflexively attack an opening in almost the same moment that it is observed. This Discipline reduces the gap of time between a practitioner recognizing a potential opening for attack and launching the attack to exploit said opening to almost nil.
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Detailed knowledge of the human body's vulnerabilities and weaknesses are fundamental to learning Yoshin. This Discipline represents the practitioner's knowledge of the precise location of all major organs, tendons, blood vessels, and nerve clusters on both their body and the opponent's body. This allows the practitioner to accurately target those areas even in the heat of combat.
*[Yoshin • Ambidexterity]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
After practicing for a long amount of time with the concept of using both of their hands with equal skill, the user has developed a level of ambidexterity that allows them to utilize both hands equally and as effectively without any penalty. This extends to other methods of combat or simple everyday life as well.
*[Yoshin • Burrowed Arrowhead]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): *[Yoshin • Prey's Anatomy]
Looking to cause the opponent as much pain as possible with minimal energy or effort, the practitioner launches a quickly snapping thrust meant to slip through the ribcage and lightly cut the outside of one of the opponent's lungs. Aside from causing significant pain, an opponent hit by this technique will have difficulty breathing, causing future techniques they use to take up more Endurance due to oxygen deprivation.
*[Yoshin • Bear Trap]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Dropping low to the ground, the practitioner launches a quick, wide slash to the front of the opponent's shins. The cut targets a long nerve across the front of the shin which, if cut, can restrict the opponent's movements. Considering the size of the nerve being targeted and the relatively thin skin covering it, even cuts that only graze these nerves can be effective. Aside from causing significant pain, this technique also imposes a persisting -3 Speed penalty on the opponent due to movement of the legs becoming more difficult. This penalty can be lifted if the opponent receives medical attention.
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner delivers an open palm strike to the opponent's arm, attempting to break the humerus bone and render the arm unusable. This makes the opponent unable to move the affected arm or perform hand seals. The opponent will also feel immense pain in their injured arm and will have trouble moving the arm any further down than the shoulder. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Endurance to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

PersonalityShow
- General:
Charming, energetic, and compassionate, childish, joker, gambling addiction! Those are some of the traits that are easy to distinguish Nagisa by. When it comes to new ideas, Nagisa isn't interested in brooding; he wants to go out and experience things, and don’t hesitate to step out of his comfort zones to do so. He is highly imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as one big ocean waiting for him to dive in. Nagisa's yearning for life, love, and expression is something he tries to outwardly display at all times. Making light off the worst situations if only to make himself feel better, or to attempt to make things better. Nagisa believes that there are no irrelevant actions, that every shift in sentiment, every move, and every idea is part of something bigger and is meant to happen, simply leaving it up to fate. To satisfy his curiosity, Nagisa tries to notice all of these things and never tries to miss a moment of such things he finds interesting. Additionally, he has a gambling addiction in which he finds it fun not only to just win but simply to test fate, to see what the outcome and what destiny has in store for him! What better way than to throw life to the hands of something omnipotent like luck! However, he knows luck isn't simply everything and that one can always try and improve their odds by improving themselves and skill. "Fortune favors the bold and those skilled with handling luck" is a common saying for him.
As he observes, forming new connections and ideas, Nagisa won’t hold his tongue! He's often excited about his findings and will share them with anyone who’ll listen, though not if it impedes him getting to his findings that is. This infectious enthusiasm has the dual benefit of giving Nagisa a chance to make more social connections, and of giving them a new source of information and experience, as he fits such friends’ opinions into his existing ideas. Nagisa has developed strong people skills, due to his travel as a child and often expresses these traits. Nagisa enjoys both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for him, and is adept at steering conversations towards his desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced. A silver tongue if you will, with a dice roll of high charisma.
Nagisa knows that sometimes, nothing is as important as simply having fun and experiencing life’s joys. That Intuitive trait lets him know it’s time to shake things up, and these wild bursts of enthusiastic energy can surprise even his closest friends. All this adaptability and spontaneity comes together to form a person who is approachable, interesting, and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. Nagisa gets along with pretty much everyone, and his circles of friends often are able to stretch far and wide. When it comes to conceiving ideas and starting projects, especially involving other people, Nagisa has exceptional talent. Unfortunately, his skill with upkeep, administration, and follow-through on those projects is dirt poor. He likes to commonly say that he's "more of an idea guy". Without more hands-on people to help push day-to-day things along, Nagisa's ideas are likely to remain just that – ideas. Unless, of course, a treasure or prophet is involved!
Nagisa is a natural explorer of interpersonal connections and philosophy but It’s hard for Nagisa to maintain interest as tasks drift towards routine, administrative matters, and away from broader concepts. Nagisa doesn’t take things at face value – they look for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It’s not uncommon for Nagisa to lose a bit of sleep asking himself why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it. All this overthinking isn’t just for his own benefit. Nagisa happens to be very sensitive and cares deeply about others’ feelings. A consequence of his popularity is that others often look to them for guidance and help, which takes time, and it’s easy to see why Nagisa sometimes get overwhelmed, especially when he can’t say yes to every request, and as such he will usually try to steer the conversation toward something nonsensical or fun like games! While emotional expression is healthy and natural, with Nagisa even viewing it as a core part of his identity, it can come out strongly enough to cause problems for him. Particularly when under stress, criticism, or conflict, Nagisa can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best. - Hopes/Dreams: "To gain more luck, to travel the world, to have fun, to find treasure, to drink great sake, and to gamble of course!" Would be the first words one would hear out of Nagisa's mouth if they were to ask him what his hopes and dreams were, and those things both simple and conceptually wide are often what he holds close to his heart.
- Fears: Being unlucky is something that Nagisa fears, as "when it rains, it pours" he believes that fate and luck has a tendency to "go on a roll" and as such he often becomes pessimistic when experiencing bad luck. Additionally, he fears and loathes the idea of one day acquiring a fast fortune only to have it stolen without being able to do anything about it. He fears possibly experiencing powerlessness in the face of adversity.
- Combat Mentality:
Nagisa's combat mentality is based around getting in close to his opponent and doing as much melee damage as he possibly can. Whether it be using a weapon or his body as a weapon. The more blood he can draw from an opponent the better. He has a habit of making light of situations, mocking, and even joking during serious combat situations in an attempt to not only lighten the mood but to also throw the opponent off. He finds that life is too short to stress out over every fight, especially with all the fighting he had to do growing up. He often encompasses and flows through all taijutsu disciplines he's learned in order to maintain a better fighting ability.
Over the years of honing his shark-like features similar to one does their muscles. Nagisa has gained the ability to suppress and expand upon them through bodily control alone. However, his scales not always being active means he has to manually cause them to spread over the entirety of his body when needed via force. This can leave him at a disadvantage and susceptible to surprise attacks where his natural scale-like armor granted by his clan isn't active. The same applies to his gills which can cause a delay when hastily submerged underwater. This also means his Hunter Sense is essentially turned off unless he toggles it on.Combat StylesShowMantis Shrimp Combat:

Required Concentrations: Deft Hands, Close Quarters Combat, Rigid StructureKūgāpou Taijutsu:
This taijutsu style is all about avoidance, with grace. In this style, the user may slap away blades, thrown weapons, and other objects, all in the interests of preserving one's self. However, this style isn't necessarily about avoiding all damage, so much as avoiding the worst damage. In instances where the user is going against an opponent they can't match, they may use this style to avoid fatal injuries and instead receive less serious injuries and live to fight a bit longer, or even another day.
Required Concentrations: Deft Hands, Perception.Yoshin Kenjutsu:
Waterfall Country's samurai are the creators of Yoshin, a style of Kenjutsu honing one's precision to strike more precisely than any needle or arrow at the enemy's inherent weaknesses. The human body is full of natural weak spots and vulnerabilities, and Yoshin takes full advantage of those weaknesses in combat with calculated, precise, intelligent strikes and thrusts to cripple and cut down their opponent. Common joints, unseen nerve endings and nerve clusters, critical tendons and muscle groups, and even vital organs are all fair game to the users of Yoshin. The precision required for this style causes most users of its techniques to prefer short blades such as kodachi and wakizashi, often with serrated edges to maximize damage on the blade exiting the wound, though katana can still be used with this style.
Requires: [Deft Hands], [Sword Weapons], [Medicine] Concentrations.Toryu:
Toryu, a style of Kenjutsu founded in the Land of Pebbles, melds traditional kenjutsu swordplay with subversive feints and sudden bursts of close-quarters combat, two unyielding hills crashing together to form a mountain. Toryu typically favors the use of the blade with one hand, utilizing the freedom of movement to use one's hands, joints, legs, head, and even the hilt and handle of the sword to make an already deadly style more unpredictable and more lethal. Ignorantly considered a very "unrefined" style by most practitioners of the sword, Toryu is actually one of the most difficult styles of Kenjutsu to learn and master. The very basic premise of the style revolves around the firm control and manipulation of one's own movements and body, some techniques requiring execution while using another attack as a feint or misdirection while not sacrificing strength. The style has no weapon requirements outside of a sword, but many users often prefer kodachi, wakizashi, ninjato, or even tanto, the reduced size and weight of the blades having fewer blind spots and making the user's weapon more mobile.
Requires: [Close Quarters Combat], [Sword Weapons] Concentrations.[/center]Strong Fist:
This style focuses on being overall more physically powerful than your opponent. Users attempt to overwhelm defenses with great speed and strength while chipping away at their opponent’s endurance and keeping their own at the highest possible. Most attacks are simple in execution but extremely powerful in effect, causing battles of attrition to be in their favor.
Requires:- [Close Quarters Combat] Concentration
Skitter Step:
Skitter Step
The Skitter Step is a style that relies heavily on the user's senses. The style itself is a mesh of quick, fast, and wild punches, kicks, and jumps. Due to the user altering their senses, every bit of movement is heard and, since they can start to respond to things instinctively, they can respond to things that normally wouldn't have been able to be heard/seen/done. In addition to the heightened senses, users are normally in a "paranoid" state, where they start to suspect things that aren't always there.
If overused, the style can lead to paranoia in individuals, along with constant fidgeting, making experts in the style quite well known for these activities.- Requires: [Acrobatics] and [Perception]
- Requires *[Skitter Step • Senses Open] prerequisite to learn any other jutsu.
Shinden Kenjutsu:
Emerging from the depths of the Marsh Country, Shinden is a style of Kenjutsu that focuses on one thing and one thing alone: overwhelming strength. While not completely forsaking flexibility, Shinden techniques are traditionally structured around downward slashes. The user lifts their weapon over their shoulder or above their head, both their strength and gravity bringing death crashing down onto their enemies. Due to this quirk unique to Shinden, while sufficiently performed with a katana, users of this style typically prefer heavier blades such as Nodachi, Odachi, and even Zanbatou. These large weapons further enhance the natural strengths the style's core mechanics provide, forgoing defense for brute strength and overwhelming power.
Requires: [Rigid Structure] Concentration, [Sword Weapons], [Polearm Weapons], or [Hafted Weapons] Concentration.Ochiba:
Ochiba
Ochiba is a weapon style originating from the fire country, one of the few weapon styles developed by Shinobi and not Samurai. Ochiba translates as “Dead Leaf” As it is a weapon style that focuses on the use of a Kunai which are similar in appearance to a leaf. The kunai is held in a reversed manner, the handle comes up by the thumb and the blade comes down by the bottom of the hand. This allows for short, yet quick strikes and parries. Though this style is developed to use a kunai it can be transposed to other short weapons such as ninjato & tanto, though not all techniques will be available.
Requires: Deft Hands and Sword WeaponsIaido Kenjutsu:
The samurai of the Land of Tea have produced a unique style of Kenjutsu called Iaido. Unlike other styles, which rely on the sword being drawn to attack, a practitioner of Iaido is always ready to attack their opponents, even when their weapon is sheathed in its scabbard. Known as a "sword drawing" technique, Iaido uses the smooth, linear motion of pulling the sword from its sheath to create abnormally fast slashes and strikes against often ignorant and unsuspecting opponents. Though the katana is preferred for this style, any curved sword single-edged sword with a complimenting scabbard is compatible with this style. Their ability to fight with both traditional swordplay and hand-to-hand combat while perfectly capable of switching to quick slashes and stabs using Iaido's hallmark techniques makes practitioners of this style unpredictable fighters.
Requires: [Sword Weapons], [Perception] Concentrations.Bone Breaker Style:
Bone Breaker Style was created by shinobi in order to disable another fighter quickly in a fight to prevent them from utilizing limbs, and weathering the opponent down by short powerful strikes aimed at weak spots in the skeletal structure to fracture or break entirely. The style is strongly based off the strength and skill of the user. If a user is strong they can snap bones easily, but if they are uncoordinated the style is essentially useless, same if it was the other way around, a weak person cannot snap bones no matter how well they're coordinated. The style is an utterly brute and ruthless one used to typical lethally injure or disable an opponent for other means.
Requires a Minimum of 5 Strength
Requires CQC and Medicine ConcentrationsFlawless Aim Style (Description):
This style of combat is favored by shinobi preferring to use projectiles, often serving as a staple for ranged taijutsu users. Focusing on the synergy between their hands and senses, they strive to make their lethal skills reach as far as possible with absolute precision.

Requires: [Rigid Structure] Concentration, [Sword Weapons], [Polearm Weapons], or [Hafted Weapons] Concentration.
Fisher's Delight TaijutsuShow
Fisher’s Delight:~[Fisher’s Delight • Hidden In The Deep]The Shuryo clan are a hybrid of marine life, and human life. Their bodily mutations allow them to live freely on land, and in water, and can move just as easily in water as on land. They are not strengthened while in water, nor are they hindered while on land. Fisher’s Delight's is their taijutsu that uses their natural enhancements.
Iaido KenjutsuShow
Iaido:*[Iaido • Ancestral Visage]The samurai of the Land of Tea have produced a unique style of Kenjutsu called Iaido.
Requires: [Sword Weapons], [Perception] Concentrations.
Yoshin KenjutsuShow
Yoshin Kenjutsu:*[Yoshin • Prey's Anatomy]Waterfall Country's samurai are the creators of Yoshin, a style of Kenjutsu honing one's precision to strike more precisely than any needle or arrow at the enemy's inherent weaknesses.
Requires: [Deft Hands], [Sword Weapons], [Medicine] Concentrations.
Bone Breaker StyleShow
Quote:*Humorous HumerusBone Breaker Style was created by shinobi in order to disable another fighter quickly in a fight to prevent them from utilizing limbs, and weathering the opponent down by short powerful strikes aimed at weak spots in the skeletal structure to fracture or break entirely.
Requires CQC and Medicine Concentrations
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 10 Strength
The practitioner delivers an open palm strike to the opponent's arm, attempting to break the humerus bone and render the arm unusable. This makes the opponent unable to move the affected arm or perform hand seals. The opponent will also feel immense pain in their injured arm and will have trouble moving the arm any further down than the shoulder. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Endurance to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

History
Historical AccountsShow
Nagisa was born into a fishing family, in Shark Country. His mother was the primary care provider in terms of fishing whereas his father was a traveling samurai and nomad that originally hailed from Waterfall Country. He met and became infatuated with Nagisa's mother, and after working for the Shuryo clan for over a decade he had eventually gotten the clan's blessing to marry her. The union of which resulted in Nagisa, a young but energetic child. A child from a young age would see his mother and others in his clan and wonder why they were so different from his father.
Eventually, he learned the differences between "normal" individuals and those in his clan. However, his dad learning how grueling and critical it was for those in his clan to learn how to fight, he decided to impart the skills and abilities he had learned on his travels as a retired Samurai from Waterfall Country onto his son. His taijutsu skill and sword skills were drilled into Nagisa nearly every day from a young age, and though at first, he wasn't fond of it, he soon grew to love it, as it meant spending time with his father.
Eventually, he learned to control his body on a level different from others in his village using his father's muscle control training. Nagisa then began training on his own, not to only expand on his clan given abilities but also to suppress them. Though his clan features and abilities could only be forced to be surprised for so long at such an age, and as such, they would often result in them becoming pent up causing a sense of overexpression and subsequently causing him to lose himself to his animalistic instincts due to his inferior willpower at such an age.
Due to this Nagsi would consistently and often cause damage to the village, and at times was known to attack friends, foes, and family alike. However, he didn't stop trying to suppress his features, he continued to do so using what little control he had, and eventually, it expanded into something more, something a little bit greater. He was happy to be such an individual, and often he would suppress his clan features, but eventually, the animalistic urges would always surface, which simply meant that it was time for a swim!
When he became a teenager he went along with his dad doing some traveling here and there. Since coming back to Shark Country, he spends his time fishing, helping his mother with boats and clan duties, honing his skills, gambling, drinking and just trying to enjoy life. Though something inside him yearns for more. As he lays looking up at the sky, he often wonders what will happen next and what exactly does fate have in store for him.
