It was early morning when Kenji heard a soft tapping at his door, Riku's head peeking up curiously at the noise. The oversized animal had clearly gotten too comfortable here in Crescent and forgot that visitors didn't come knocking at 4am, according to his alarm clock. Getting out of bed and tying up his hair, Kenji opened the door a crack to see who could possibly be disturbing him at this hour. Thankful that Yuna was passed out in the other room, she had been sleeping more soundly since they had settled in here. As his eyes adjusted to the dark, he saw a young man who was maybe 16, carrying a piece of paper in his hand.
Opening the door further, Kenji raised his eyebrows at the boy, encouraging him to speak. "Uh I - sorry mister. An important message for you." It was clear the young man was nervous, stumbling over his words and refusing to look Kenji in the eye. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he held his other other out for the letter. He grunted his thanks as he read the contents, the door still open and the boy not dismissed. It would appear he was to meet 3 people at the gates by 8am, they were going on some sort of recruitment in the Tide Lands. A family named the Kurama's was the target after word had been received that Kiri was on the move.
Letting out a sigh, he closed his eyes. It would be good to see how diplomacy was handled in Crescent, though he didn't relish the idea of traveling with strangers or leaving Yuna behind. But she had started to make some acquaintances at the orphanage and local school. Perhaps that would keep her busy and out of trouble. Looking at the boy once more, Kenji nodded his head, his face appearing softer in the dull rising light of the sun. "Thanks. Do you have a safe place to return to?" It wasn't often Kenji cared for others, but children always carried a soft spot with him. Especially after the death of his own. "I - uh, yessir. Just up the road." The young man hastily nodded his head, either wary of Kenji or the large bear that had now popped his head through the door to look at the commotion being raised. "He won't hurt you, and I won't keep you. Travel safe."
With that, Kenji would leave the door open and watch as the young man took off down the streets. Turning a corner some 30 feet away from the home he shared with Yuna. Now that that business had been dealt with, it would seem he had a mission to prepare for. Cooking up food for himself and Riku, he ate on the move as he grabbed his travel gear. Making sure he had enough rations for the two of them and anything he might need to be able to hunt on their way. He also packed 2 sets of spare clothes and called it done.
Looking at the clock it was now 5am, just enough time to get a work out in before needing to leave to arrive by 7:30. The next hour and a half went by quickly as he lifted weights and practiced his stances, throwing in some sparring with Riku for the hell of it. After jumping in to have a quick cold shower, he left his home by 7:15 and made his way to the gates with Riku in tow and the pack on his back where he would wait for his travel companions to appear.

What a strange life Nehan led, she had been everything from a medic, to an international terrorist, yet lately she found herself under a new moniker, teacher and general. Truth seemed to be stranger than fiction, but that was also why it was beautiful, something the wicked witch of the west had been oozing lately, pain and suffering was only part of it, that she owed to the orphanage. Nehan had been one of the few people in Crescent that knew of the Kuruma clan and had been trying to push Crescent to act, but Enzaragi and Chie had pushed it back because they needed to focus on securing borders and making sure that nothing befell them.
That was until Nehan stormed into his office and forced Enzaragi to allow her to take an envoy to the Land of Tides to retrieve the clan, she had assigned herself as bodyguard to Ichiro, which she requested and Kenji who Enzaragi wanted to test in the field. Ikanbi had been selected by Chie as she believed that she had a way of making people feel safer while Nehan would act as the opposite.
Nevertheless, her wings were up with the sun, the Angel of Death was on the move, she would rendezvous with the team at the gates of Libertalis, where she would give the team a short rundown of the mission. Ikanbi would trial after as she had to make sure that Ziv knew what to do in case of an emergency, leaving him to act as the de facto Principal of Sky-Reach, which made Nehan glad as she had seen that boy grow into a fine young man. Sky-Reach is safe in his hands.
The angel stopped 200 meters above the gates of Libertalis, overlooking the entire village as her eyes peered around the beautiful city, from below the people who were still up would cheer at the thought of the Angel of Crescent protecting the village, shame that they had no idea that she would have to leave the country temporarily to make sure she could strengthen the village. I still can´t believe little Eriasu created all of this with a drunkard...
Nehan swooped down, flipped midair then landed in front of Kenji and his bear, she slowly rose to a standing position as she chuckled, her hair was shorter than normal, which was unusual but seeing as she was a teacher at an Orphanage and a General she figured that perhaps she couldn´t walk around looking like a homeless person, that she had present herself in a better light in order not to scare people, but that was also the price she felt she had paid, she no longer felt scary...

Hitogakure; The shining beacon of civilization. Towering marble buildings ascended high into the clear skies, overlooking sprawling bridges, walkways and aqueducts, all gleaming white and pure as the good people that built it. Peaceful nations; the Land of Mercy and Dwarf country were the lifeblood of the great city of Libertalis, surrounding the smaller shinobi village nestled in its center. Yet, no good came without cost, and Ichiro knew that better than most. It had been some time since he had returned to his humble home within the hidden village; despite being one of its founders.
The bearded man inhaled slowly as he overlooked the city from his room at the top of one of Hitogakure’s towers. The man approached a small marble carving of his old ship, sat upon a shelf below his window, the Owashi; a humble schooner, yet the finest ship he had ever served on. The statue had been a gift from Chikara himself, a reminder of his days in Black Wake when he had first joined Setsuzoku all those years ago. Nearly 15 years it must have been, back during the war before Hitogakure had even been built. Yet he cherished this land all the same. It was not the home he had been born to, but one of his own making. It pained him then, that he had spent so little time nurturing the first generation of its shinobi. He had spent the first two years here, serving as the countries head doctor and training others in the art of Iijutsu, yet since then he visited perhaps only once or twice a month, just to check in on his old students and ensure things were running smoothly.
His life here was largely kept a secret from the outside world, a luxury he could afford due to his specialized talents. The 38-year old man ran his calloused fingers over the marble statue, black chakra flowing from his fingertips, absorbing and re-fueling the anchor he had established many years ago. It was one of about half a dozen that allowed him to teleport around the world, between his various homes and places of interest that he had sworn to protect. Ever lurking in the shadows, Ichiro kept connected to the world, his finger ever on the pulse. Yet he hadn’t expected to be called in to assist in these matters. He was known to be fairly good with bartering, having turned from piracy to operating a legitimate and very successful shipping company, trading all manner of herbs, spices and alcohol but dabbling into finer items as well. But it was not his company that had been occupying his time lately but rather marriage arrangements with a noble family as well as the matter of his former pirate captains pending execution in Xincha not more than a week’s time away. He sighed, “Best resolve these matters quickly, I have places to be” he lamented, before opening his closet and finding himself smiling as he looked upon his old mercenary attire. ‘It’s been too long’ he realized as he adorned his black legionnaire armor, white SOF cloak, and finally completed the outfit with a blue Oni’s mask. ‘Hedgehog’ they called him here, a joke relating to him stabbing Enzaragi with a few too many syringes during his multitude of medical procedures and routine check ups.
It took Ichiro no more than an hour to make his way through the city towards the designated meeting point. He had taken the first 30 minutes to simply enjoy the nostalgia and the respect his uniform commanded as he passed dozens of armed guards patrolling the streets. After exiting Hitogakure and chatting up a few of the guards in question, reminiscing with some of the older captains, he realized the time and quickly dashed ahead in a blur of motion that only the most elite combatants would be able to perceive. Slowing he arrived just a few minutes before 0800, only to notice a very large man accompanied by a bear next to the infamous rogue shinobi; Kijo Nehan, whom he had developed a rather amicable rapport with over the years. "Nehan, lovely to see you again" he dipped his head politely, bringing his head up slowly as he took in the mountain of a man next to her. Ichiro had stopped 5 meters from the man, yet he still stood within his shadow. Clearing his throat as he looked up at the towering figure. “Well aren’t you quite the specimen, they seem to have increased the rations since I trained here last” he quipped glibly, before clearing his throat. “Right, introductions are in order I believe. You can call me ‘Hedgehog’” he held up his hand, “I know what you’re thinking. I hardly look prickly, but I assure you I can deliver quite the jab when push comes to shove, NOT that I am keen to put that to the test” he spoke quickly, though with natural charismatic fluidity. His posture remained relaxed and casual. Looking around he scanned for the others, “If I’m not mistaken, and I rarely am, there should be one other…ah! There they are now” he noted, sensing as the other approached. He smirked beneath his mask as he recognized one of the women as somebody he had encountered years ago but regrettably had not crossed paths again since, begrudgingly having not yet made the trek out to Skyreach. Certainly, this endeavor was already becoming quite serendipitous. ‘Ikanbi of the sands; a pleasure’ he relayed, parsing out the other chakra signature. How he envied her, having bested him to retrieve her crown of legend and all its power.
Open Space: Anchor
C-rank Jikukan Ninjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then touch an object turning up to two objects into an anchor. An anchor will be opened, acting as a means to move through space, this must be used in conjunction with other jutsu that utilize opening space such as the *Open Space: Seeking Truth technique.
*[Sensory Style • Beyond Senses]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: 10 Control
This sensor jutsu is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 35 meters. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of a 10m radius. This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area.
[Sensory Style • Evaluation]
C-rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: Beyond Senses
The sensor will activate their sensory jutsu, and then do an additional set of hand seals. By doing so, the user will be able to compare the “strength” of each source of chakra they are able to sense to each other. The “strength” of the individual is determined by the average of each person’s Chakra Pool, Control and Strength stats. The user can determine who has more chakra strength than others, allowing them to pick out possible risks. This technique is not very reliable as a determining factor, however.
Nose of Politeness
S-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: [Perception]
Without being particularly more sensitive, even the slightest bit of change from another slight bit of change can be read and interpreted in a split second by the user of this technique. This first jutsu in the series makes their nose good enough to be able to track someone by scent better than a bloodhound up to five miles away, and notice any sudden changes in scents easily. With the two senses so strongly interconnected, this also effects the users sense of taste, allowing them to detect differences in blood or soil samples, or taste even otherwise tasteless poisons in his food.
