[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Trusted Grader » Fri Sep 22, 2023 1:52 am

Chikara had called upon the Mimic to come and train with him in the Blackpoint training grounds, it was one of those rare few moments that the mercenary had time to practice the art of being the greatest, a chuckle escaped his breath as he leaned off the wall. He hated waiting for the assassin, especially when he hand't drunk in a while, time seemed to move slower when one wasn't belligerent,or at least that's how it felt for the veteran.

The pommel of the kunai danced around his hand as he toyed with it for a brief second, he tossed it into the air and formed the much needed hand seals to perform his clans sacred technique, of which he had lately become far more effient in. The umbra technique was a good one, one that had helped him in various situations, but when he figured out that there was aone that had a deeper step, then he knew that it was time to take it one step further.

Okay, If I manage to get this one working then I can start working on a better slither technique, shit, I could even create a neck hold with this one from range, allowing me to not only choke a motherfucker out, I could theoretically snap their necks like a twig. Shit... I could create shadow technques that scare the shit out of people... Oh, I could create a shadow technique that scares their allies if they see them get targetted! The ideas are flowing.

Chikara channeled chakra to his blade and then formed the much needed hand seals, he visualized the technique in his minds eye as he slowed down the pace of his heart, he knew that working with ninjutsu was harder for him than Genjutsu, but with age came the fine skills that allowed him to perfect technique with much greater ease, that or his knowledge had expanded massivly since he started the mercenary business.

The handseals were completed and the kunai was tossed, around the kunai another one would be created, this one by pure black shadow chakra, this was the upgraded version of the umbra and would serve to allow Chikara to not only trap his foes but also perform another shadow technique on the unsuspecting foe, best part about this technique was that it wasn't necessarily him who had to throw the jutsu as he could still decide if he wanted to activate it or not.

Or maybe that was just wishful thinking? Chikara didn't know as of yet, but what he did know was that he as getting one step closer to mastering the style granted to him by birth right and if he kept up this dance then he would be able to reach the top within a year, what was the top? The top of the food ladder. The Iron Festival had shown him how much he lacked in the ninjutsu department and how he had to compensate a lot via genjutsu.

Though luckily today would be the day he fixed a lot of his errors, hell, he might even sneak in a genjutsu training or two, or five like he usually did. All he knew was that there was no turning back when it came to his grindset and with Enzaragi becoming far stronger and faster than he could imagine, he knew that he had to make up for it one way or another.

The Nara began to think back to how his father used to show him his amazing shadow skills, from how he coated his body in black shadows that caused anyone that touched him to freeze up. The upgraded version of shadow boxing... Sheesh, I wonder... If I manage to control said jutsu then I could possibly create a shadow coating over the Susanoo... Talk about being unstoppable then huh?

Chikara couldn't help but to laugh out loud, he knew that when he put his mind to it then he could reach any dream he ever put his mind to, like the mercenary organization for example. He started from the bottom and now he was potentionally looking at defending a new village, Chikara grinned as he formed a set of hand seals that would allow the Penumbra Projectile to start squirming its way up the puppets body, he held the final seal.

Chikara spotted the shadow make its way towards the puppets neck. By focusing chakra through it he could sense how the shadow began to strangle it, the creaking noises soon started to reverberate throughout the training facility and before long the neck snapped, tearing off the head with such an impactful force that Chikara couldn't do anything but laugh.

Holy shit, that was intense! If ever manage to get someone caught in that tech then its surely over! Hah! Holy shit! Chikara chuckled loudly.

He stopped once he realized that Mimic still hadn't shown up, well, it could be because Chikara was super early for once, which was a thing when the man wasn't drinking.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Gara » Fri Sep 22, 2023 6:28 pm

Mimic stood in serene solitude, concealed by the comforting embrace of the shade. His skin, on that particular day, took on a gentle, tawny hue, casting a warm contrast against the backdrop of nature's beauty. He observed Hawk, an expert practitioner whose jutsu display was nothing short of astonishing, even bordering on the genuinely unnerving.

The strands of Mimic's dark brown hair, meticulously fashioned into a Mohawk, swayed gracefully in response to a gentle breeze. His posture remained unyielding, reminiscent of a time-honored statue, a sentinel of the moment. His sapphire blue eyes were fixed intently upon Hawk, capturing every nuance of the man's movements, every intricacy of his technique.

Amidst this profound stillness, Mimic's heartbeat slowed, each rhythmic thud fading into the tapestry of the environment. His breath, once palpable, became a wispy whisper, barely audible even to the most attentive ears. The tempestuous whirlwind of thoughts that typically consumed his mind surrendered to the tranquility of the moment. In this suspended state, it was as if he dissolved into the very essence of his surroundings, an ethereal presence detached from the hustle and bustle of the world.

Mimic's stillness transcended mere tranquility; it was an eerie form of serenity. So unmoving was he that a curious bird, sensing an enigmatic harmony in his presence, dared to alight gently upon his shoulder. The avian visitor, finding solace in Mimic's tranquil aura, made itself at home in this remarkable moment of shared stillness.

Strangely, Mimic's immersion in this surreal calm wasn't a conscious choice, but rather an instinctive response to the overwhelming power demonstrated by the man he was meant to train under. In the face of Hawk's awe-inspiring might, it was as if some primal part of Mimic's being recognized the need to be inconspicuous, to hide his true essence from the intimidating force before him.

Yet, beneath this veil of quietude, a latent energy simmered within him, like a coiled spring ready to burst forth at the slightest provocation. Mimic wasn't merely a passive observer; his very core pulsated with the potential for explosive action. Should the need arise, he knew he could erupt into a whirlwind of action with the full might of his body, transitioning from his statuesque guise to a formidable force in the blink of an eye. This duality, this delicate balance between serene stillness and impending power, made Mimic a truly enigmatic presence amidst the natural world.

Yurei no Kenjutsu - Silent Serenity
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Silent Serenity is a remarkable technique that enables the practitioner to attain a state of unparalleled stillness and silence. This extraordinary skill allows the user to essentially vanish from the awareness of those around them, as they reduce their presence in the world to the barest minimum. The key to this art lies in the user's ability to control their own physiological responses. As they engage the technique, their heart rate gradually decreases, mimicking the rhythm of a near-death state, rendering them practically undetectable to even the most keenly trained senses. Their breath, meanwhile, becomes inaudible, a whisper of life as they blend seamlessly with their surroundings.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Trusted Grader » Fri Sep 22, 2023 11:29 pm

Chikara grinned as was now planning on what else he could train for the day, he knew that if he continued at this pace then there probably wouldn't be anymore shadow tehcniques his father had showed him to train, instead he probably would have to figure out new ones, he looked at his golden bangle and thought about Slither and figured that he could probably come up with a new version of his shadow tech that utilized some of the Penumbra techniques, in fact he could probably string multiple connections if done correctly.

Allright, now I just have to get through this jutsu training, to set the shadow to cover my skin so that I can protect myself from close quarter combatants. Sure the shadow boxer works that way as well, but with this I could probably start mixing it with the Susanoo, or maybe even a cool genjutsu... Time will tell. He cracked his neck and let a long breath escape his lips.

Chikara chuckled, but right as he was about to form a set of hand seals, he felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up, it was that strange sensation he felt when someone was watching him, due to him usually being connected to hive he missed that feeling for the other eyes usually covered his blindspot, but today he was disconnected and waiting for the Mimic had hade him lower his guard.

That was until this very moment, Chikara turned towards where he felt the peering eyes and screamed out as he saw the Chameleon just stand there, he quickly composed himself then began to chuckle as he felt somewhat embarassed that the kid had seen him in such a state. "Ey yo... Don't do that shit man, you scared the shit out of me! You lucky I wasn't holding a kunai or something." Chikara chuckled.

He walked up to the Mimic and dapped him up before he turned towards the dummies. "You ready to train buddy?" Chikara grinned as he formed a set of hand seals, if Mimic looked at him then he would see that the Hawks shadow would crawl up his own body and covet most of his skin, from head to toe. What the Mimic didn't know was that if he touched him then he would be trapped by the jutsu, which meant that this was another jutsu trained successfully.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Gara » Sun Sep 24, 2023 2:22 pm

Mimic's education in the peculiar art of "dabbing," as demonstrated by Hawk, remained a work in progress. With a subtle bow of his head, he acknowledged the man's presence and offered a gesture of respect. "I appreciate you taking the time out of your schedule to assist me with my training today," he articulated with a tone that carried genuine gratitude but also a hint of cautiousness. As he spoke, Mimic's watchful eyes remained affixed to Hawk. There was an uncanny quality to the way the man's shadow seemed to dance and creep along his form, almost as if it possessed a life of its own. This eerie spectacle, though intriguing, set off a flicker of unease in Mimic's mind, a silent reminder of the immense power his mentor wielded.

In this peculiar juxtaposition of learning the "dab" and navigating the shadowy aura of his mentor, Mimic found himself in a world where the unusual and the unsettling coexisted. His training, now poised at the precipice of the extraordinary, promised to be a journey marked by both reverence and an ever-present wariness.

Mimic's quest for awareness extended beyond the visual and auditory senses. He inhaled deeply, drawing the myriad scents of the natural world into his nostrils, a form of sensory "sampling" that had become second nature to him. The fragrances of the forest swirled around him, each telling a different story: the earthy musk of damp soil, the fresh aroma of pine needles, and the sweet perfume of wildflowers. Yet, amidst this olfactory symphony, one scent reigned supreme, dominating his senses. It was the unmistakable scent of the man before him, Hawk. This aroma, distinct and "unnatural" in comparison to the organic tapestry of the forest, anchored Mimic's focus. His nostrils flared subtly, processing the nuances of Hawk's scent, as if attempting to decipher the very essence of this enigmatic mentor.

In that moment, a revelation struck him. If Hawk's scent stood as the sole anomaly in their surroundings, then, to the best of Mimic's knowledge, there were no hidden threats lurking among the trees. This newfound assurance, though ephemeral, added a layer of comfort to the surreal tableau before him, where the teachings of an otherworldly jutsu master intermingled with the scent of the wilderness, and Mimic stood at the nexus of it all.
In a quest for absolute certainty, Mimic adjusted his position, shifting slightly downwind from his prospective mentor. With measured precision, he once again inhaled deeply through his nose, a deliberate act aimed at reaffirming the insights offered by his keen sense of smell. The wind, now playing a more integral role, bore with it a fresh medley of fragrances, an intricate symphony of nature's offerings.

This time, as the wind swept across the forest, it delivered even more scents to Mimic's discerning senses. A mosaic of aromas danced upon the breeze—hints of earth and moss, the crispness of nearby streams, and the subtle sweetness of blooming wildflowers. Yet, amidst this kaleidoscope of nature's odors, none sent alarm bells ringing in his mind. His olfactory acumen, sharpened through meticulous training, remained steadfast. It was a reassuring confirmation that, in this tranquil corner of the woods, there were no concealed threats poised to ambush them. As the scents enveloped him, Mimic's senses melded seamlessly with the natural world, forging a connection that transcended the ordinary and brought him ever closer to mastering the unique art he sought to learn from Hawk.

The mercenary grinned as he listened intently to the words passed on by the Chameleon, his failed assassination attempt ran through the back of his head, though his outward appearance would never reveal it. "No worries. I'm going to teach you what I can about Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and Genjutsu. We will probably not be able to get through them all... But I'll make sure that you are ready to take on missions."

Chikara called forth Slither, which manifested as a ringed broadsword, its beautiful colors distracted the eyes from the well crafted blade. A grin grew on the mercenaries face, "We will craft a fine weapon for you in the future thats connected to you, to your fine honed ability." He swung the sword around, danced with it for a brief second before he stood up straight.

Okay, If I create three extra tentacles hidden within Slithers shadow, I would be able to surprise my targets and hopefully catch them while they dodge the sword. The mercenary believed that if he kept the sword a secret then the surprise attack would truly come out of left field.

"With Taijutsu, you could perform movements blind to the eye of your enemy, with Genjutsu you could overwhelm their senses, with Ninjutsu you could encase it with such tremendous force that you could overwhelm the hardiest of foes. Now, when it's designed for you, it can become something unique, it becomes your signature." The one handed set of hand seals were completed as his speech finished, he took a side step then tossed the sword with all his might.

The sword quickly desintegrated back to a shadow as it rushed towards the manequins, its speed accelerated to near maximum potential, Chikara controlled the shadow sword to swing back around, while passing the the manequins a tentacle would crawl out of the blade, it danced towards each manequin, attatching them to the shadow that returned to Chikara.

He grabbed the sword and watched the three connections that were now in his mercy. "As you can see, once we find what truly is your signature, will train you in whatever you need." Chikara chuckled as he gently stroked his chin. With another jutsu down, it was time to start figuring out what he would train next, if Mimic wanted to train Taijutsu then he would as well, his Shogo had taken a backstep but today was surely going to be the day.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Gara » Mon Sep 25, 2023 5:23 pm

Mimic remained a vigilant observer, his gaze fixated unwaveringly upon the man before him. With an intensity that bordered on reverence, he absorbed every detail of Hawk's actions, each fleeting motion etching itself into the corridors of his memory. It was a battle of the mind as much as it was a study in the physical realm, a relentless effort to anticipate the enigmatic Hawk's next move.

In his quest for mastery, Mimic understood that every nuance, every subtle shift in the way Hawk moved, contained profound wisdom. He watched as the master practitioner's body flowed like a river, a mesmerizing dance of skill and power. The rise and fall of Hawk's chest, the subtle tension in his muscles, the flicker of concentration in his eyes—all were recorded by Mimic's keen senses, committed to memory with unwavering dedication. It was a battle against time, as fleeting moments held the secrets of mastery. With each passing second, Mimic honed his ability to predict, to anticipate the unspoken language of combat, the silent dialogue of a master and his pupil. As he stood there, entranced by Hawk's artistry, he knew that the knowledge he gained in these moments would forge the foundation of his own journey towards excellence.

Mimic's intense scrutiny went beyond mere observation; it was a profound exploration of the intricate language of the human body. He delved deep into the study of how every subtle twitch and nuance of muscle and sinew betrayed the impending actions of a person. This was not just about understanding Hawk's movements; it was about deciphering the subtle cues that the human body revealed before each decisive action, a vital key to predicting his opponent's next move.

Every shift in weight, every imperceptible tightening of a muscle, and every micro-expression etched on Hawk's face contributed to the intricate tapestry of knowledge Mimic was weaving. He was becoming attuned to the unspoken signals, those instinctive giveaways that signaled intent before action. The rise of an eyebrow, a faint, almost imperceptible flicker in the corner of Hawk's eye—each of these were chapters in the silent, eloquent story of impending movement. This pursuit was as much an art as the jutsu techniques he aspired to master. It was a journey into the profound subtleties of human nature, a quest to anticipate, to predict, and ultimately to outmaneuver one's opponent. Mimic knew that in these moments of focused study, he wasn't merely learning how to mimic movements; he was decoding the very essence of combat, one subtle cue at a time.

Chikara chuckled, he couldn't believe that he had spoken so much while the Mimic had barely said a single word, it made him feel a bit self concious for he wasn't used to not getting a response. This left him wondering if he should try to continue to speak with the Mimic or just focus on training, The silent type I see, I mean it does make sense.

Not everyone becomes an assassin, I bet that it's a pretty lonely life, you can't trust anyone and your main objectives is always to kill someone. Hopefully with time we could get him to losen up a little, well, at least when he is around his fellow organization members. I mean... If he doesn't want to deal with heavy psychological problems on his own... Maybe he's just...
Chikara sighed, he knew that it wasn't his place to judge the kid but he wanted to make sure that he didn't become a lone wolf looney.

Nevertheless, his focus shifted towards the dummy ahead of him, he sighed yet again as he realized that the next part of the training would require something differently. A puppet would not be enough for him to train the eye to catch something moving faster. A couple of shadowy men lept out of the shadow and began to run back and forth, tossing kunais at the dummies and creating general chaos for Chikara to inspect with the stolen doujutsu.

His focus wasn't the sharpest as he hadn't train it to read movements so well, but today things were going to change. I see, each step, each movement, each breath, each kunai, read it, watch them carefully. His eyes danced between the the different mercenary and once his eye could read their movements he shifted to the next one, each being faster than the other so he could train his eye to read fast and faster.

When his eyes landed on a mercenary that had far too high speed for his eye to read, he took note of it as it revealed that there was a limit to how much faster they could be, which was good, for if he tried this on a true situation then he could end up in a lot of trouble. Though with the paualdron and a stat boost then he was sure that he could circumvent a lot of issues.

Chikara turned to face Mimic, who seemed to be training still, I hope he gets the opportunity to show the world his skills. Chikara chuckled and tried his best to act like all of this was easy, but truthfully he was still getting used to the damn eye. I never though that the Shogo would be this hard to master, but with each step I get closer to my dream. The Nara shook his head, he snapped his finger and before they knew it the place was cleaned out.

When a user practices this discipline, they use the skill of reading an opponent to make up for their lack of speed. The user begins to predict their opponent's moves by reading their body language, and moving before the opponent has rolled into their attack to make up for the difference in speed. As long as the user's [Speed] is not 5 or more less than the opponent's [Speed] they'll be able to keep up with the opponent's attacks, if but barely. This is most often used when the user is backed into a corner or facing multiple opponents.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Gara » Sat Oct 14, 2023 3:56 pm

Mimic couldn't help but release an involuntary sigh as he continued to watch the awe-inspiring spectacle of Hawk's relentless practice. His admiration for the master's power was undeniable, and it served as a beacon of aspiration. Determination fueled his resolve as he muttered to himself, "I will reach his level of power one day."

However, a deeper realization took root within him. He understood that true mastery extended beyond raw strength. To become the ultimate weapon, he needed to possess the elusive skill of seamless silence. It wasn't enough to rely solely on techniques that dampened noise in specific scenarios. Mimic longed for the natural, ghostly movement that would render him imperceptible, no matter the circumstance. He envisioned a future where he would move with the grace of a shadow, his presence vanishing into the tapestry of his surroundings. He wished to become so adept at stealth that he would have to consciously create sound to avoid standing out.

Following this revelation, Mimic embarked on a solitary journey across the training grounds. With each step, he meticulously adjusted his movements to minimize noise, allowing his actions to flow with an innate fluidity. He not only sought to appear more natural in his movements but also yearned for them to feel like an extension of his being, as if his every motion was an embodiment of silence itself.

In the hush of the moment, Mimic strived for perfection, not just in the art of mimicry but in the art of becoming one with the darkness, where silence was his most potent weapon. As Mimic continued to hone his ability to move in silence, frustration clawed its way into his mind. The initial elation of his quest was gradually eclipsed by the growing awareness of how conspicuous his movements had become. He felt like a novice actor on a stage, his every gesture exaggerated to the point where they bordered on the absurd. The absurdity would have been comical if the stakes weren't so high; he wasn't performing in a theater, he was training to master a vital technique.

Each step, each motion, felt like an overemphasized choreography, devoid of the natural subtlety he sought. His strides were too long, his pivots too pronounced, and his attempts at silence manifested as anything but. It was as though his very existence on the training ground was punctuated with exclamation marks, rather than the fluid whisper of a ghost he aspired to be. The exasperation hung in the air like a heavy shroud, casting a shadow over his determination. Mimic understood that mastery demanded patience, and the journey to becoming a true shadow, to move like a phantom, was a path paved with a multitude of clumsy, exaggerated steps. However, he was determined not to be defeated by his initial failures; instead, he would let them be the catalyst for his improvement, inching closer to the ethereal grace he so ardently sought.

Realizing the futility of his exaggerated attempts at silence, Mimic decided to take a step back. He reverted to walking around the training grounds in a manner that felt utterly normal, his strides and gestures following the unaltered rhythm of his body. This time, instead of trying to force unnatural quietness, he chose to be a silent observer of his own actions, studying every detail of his unaltered movements with meticulous focus. With deliberate intention, he allowed himself to become a keen observer of his own being. His footsteps upon the earth's surface, the subtle sway of his arms, the slight bend of his knees, all these facets of his movement became the subjects of his keen scrutiny. He recognized the necessity of understanding his natural gait, the raw blueprint from which he could craft the art of stealth.

It was a process of self-observation, as he committed his ordinary movements to memory. He didn't seek to change anything at this stage but aimed to grasp the essence of his own presence. In doing so, he hoped to gain a deeper understanding of himself, a foundation from which he could eventually evolve his movements into the ghostly grace he so fervently desired.

This practice represented a crucial pivot in Mimic's journey, one where he recognized that true mastery required not just the ability to adapt but also the wisdom to grasp the roots of his own existence. And with each step he took, he inched closer to the profound stillness that can only be achieved by those who know themselves inside and out. With a sense of confidence born from his understanding of his natural movements, Mimic transitioned to jogging around the training grounds. This time, the focus of his attention was even more acute, every detail of his body's actions subjected to his scrutiny. As he picked up the pace, his senses became attuned to the symphony of his own being in motion. His breath became a rhythmic melody, an auditory marker of his physical exertion. With every inhalation and exhalation, he paid heed to the harmony of his respiration, ensuring that it remained a subtle whisper, as though the air itself conspired to mask his presence.

Mimic's feet, the points of contact with the earth, became the epicenter of his awareness. He listened to the muffled thuds they made upon landing and the agile spring in their departure. Every stride was an exercise in deliberate, soundless propulsion, each footfall calculated to minimize any indication of his passage. Even the soft rustle of his clothing did not escape his vigilant observation. He noted the gentle friction of fabric against fabric, a reminder that even the smallest details could betray his presence. This exercise was not just about stealth; it was a profound communion with the self. Mimic explored the intricacies of his own physicality, finding resonance in the elegance of silent motion. His journey to become a ghost in the realm of movement had evolved into a deep self-exploration, and with every jog, every heartbeat, he inched closer to the elusive grace of a true master of stealth.

As Mimic continued his focused jog around the training grounds, a sudden surge of inspiration struck him like a bolt of lightning. It was a revelation that shook the foundation of his pursuit. He realized that his goal wasn't to move without making any noise at all; instead, it was to become one with the symphony of sounds that surrounded him, effectively camouflaging any noise he did create.

In that moment of clarity, the concept of harmony became his guiding light. He understood that he didn't need to fight against the sounds of the world, but rather to embrace them, meld with them, and become a seamless part of their orchestration. His movements needed to become a note in the grand composition of ambient sounds, his very presence attuned to the rhythms of the environment.

The realization was liberating. As he continued his jog, he became mindful of the world around him—the rustling leaves, the distant calls of birds, the soft murmur of the wind. He adjusted his pace, his strides, and his breathing to align with the natural soundscape, blending into the tapestry of nature's cacophony. Mimic's quest for silence had evolved into a pursuit of oneness, not just with his own movements, but with the world itself. The forest, the wind, and his own being became interconnected, a dance of existence where he was no longer a separate entity but an integral part of a greater whole. It was in this newfound harmony that he sensed the true path to becoming a master of silence and stealth.

Yurei no Kenjutsu - Silent Symphony
B-Rank Taijutsu Stance
Silent Symphony is a mastery of movement that transcends the mundane. It empowers the user to seamlessly meld into their auditory surroundings, achieving near-total soundlessness. Instead of simply moving without sound, the practitioner harmonizes with the ambient noise, using it as a veil to conceal their own actions. This technique is a symphony of silence, where the practitioner becomes an integral part of the surrounding cacophony. Rather than suppressing the noise they generate, they leverage the environment's sounds to cloak their presence. It is a delicate ballet of existence, where the user moves in perfect cadence with the world around them, rendering their movements nigh imperceptible. Silent Symphony transforms the practitioner into an enigmatic shadow, an entity that exists in perfect harmony with the auditory realm.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Trusted Grader » Tue Oct 17, 2023 7:59 am

Chikara could feel the wind dance within the large cavern system they were in, luckily for them the blackpoint was one of the more secure places they could find themselves in. "I want you guys to prepare to strike me with all of your might, I will need at least 3 of you to do your best to attempt to take me down, do not stop, no matter how close you are and if I find any of you slacking I will kill you myself." Chikara told the mercenaries.

It was a hyperbole, he knew full well that if he did take the life of any of their mercenaries then Enzaragi would probably lecture him, which was something he wanted to do his best to avoid, not that he couldn't just wave it past him that they were useless. But, considering that they are trying to show that they were good to the people of Soverignty he should probably do his best not to seriously harm his soldiers. We aren't just mercenaries anymore, we are also an official army of Soverignty of Freedom, do not forget Chikara.

With the new doujutsu tehcniques unlocked he would proceed with the next part of his training, to make sure that he was always one step of his enemies, he knew that if he didn't train his taijutsu then he would one day be caught lacking, which would inevitably cause him to faulter, which was no bueno, considering that he was an integral part of Soverignty of freedom. I need to make sure that I always stay one step ahead of all enemies, I can't let my life get shortened by anymore mistakes. Especially if I ever face an enemy on the level of the Raikage ever again.

Chikara whisteled and watched how the ninjas had returned from their shadowy position, he took a deep breath then reached for his two weapons, doubtless and fearless, each katan was weilded with one hand and would assist him in his next onset of onslaught, he looked over at the goons who were ready to attack their master once he had given the order to, which would come at any second now. Remain calm, center yourself and let the Shōgō-zumi guide you through this deadly dance, believe in yourself.

He toook a deep breath yet again and entred his mindscape, he needed to calm his nerves as the next part of the training would not onlu be dangerous but taxing as well, but if he managed to do this correctly then there as nothing that could possibly stop him from creating a deadly sword dance, one that would appear to be an insane level of improvisation while in reality it was an insane level of preplanning.

By pushing off walls, dancing on the ground to kick low, flipping to strike high, I can keep my enemies on the back foot. Besides, with this doujutsu I can probably make sure that they have no chance of seeing where the next strike would come, and I can block attacks that most likely would appear as if they are nigh impossible for me to predict. Chikara exhaled as he opened his eyes, the training had begun.

Chikara nodded at his mercenaries to begin the training, three mercs rushed up to chikara and began to simultaniously strike at him, his Shōgō-zumi captured how their movements were synchronized and revealed an opening for him, he flipped over his targerts, both blocking and counter attacking them, slicing at their robes before he landed in a crouching position. I can see them, I can see follow their movement and position myself without risking my life.

He leg sweeped the first target before he roundhouse kicked the second one before flipping over a midsection sword slice, a chuckle escaped his breath as he finally realized how much easier it was for him to fight when he used the Shōgō-zumi, before he had to always keep his mind sharp and ready for any unforseen strike but with the doujutsu he was able to not only do it naturally but with great ease.

he continiusly blocked, danced and swept low on his enemies, switching up his styles as he knew that if he slowed down just a little then they'd catch him lacking, which was a no go for Chikara, so instead he focused on picking up the slightest shift in tension, he could soon begin to see a pattern in their combat styles which allowed him to slip through their defenses with ease, though he knew better than to be cocky as even though this was just training he could still get seriously injured.

Slowly but surely I am reaching Enzaragi's level of Taijutsu, if I can keep this up then I am certain that I will one day reach a level where I can even surprise him, and If I can surprise him then I am certain that I can stay one step ahead of our enemies. The Nara wanted to make sure that he was in tip top shape so this practice was nearly as deadly as any random encounter, his mercenaries knew better than to take it easy on him, especially since he had told them beforehand how serious he wanted his trainings to be, and because he and the Mimic weren't really talking he had to focus on the task at hand.

Chikara made sure to not only dodge their strikes but also return the favour, but due to their extreme skill difference he wouldn't truly hurt his mercenaries, just punish them for failing to hurt him. This was to make sure that they tried their best to not only hurt him but also keep their head cold and not let their emotions get the best out of them, for he didn't want them to lose their heads when push came to shove. Their frustrations are becoming quite clear, one day I will work on a jutsu that allows me to elevate their frustrations... That should make things easier for me in the long run.

The shadowy leader would instill fear into his mercenaries the longer he danced around their strike as they truly believed that the man was untouchable, and considering that he wasn't even using his pauldron, they might have been right in fearing the man before them. Chikara began to chuckle as he stopped his himself from killing one of the mercenaries by holding his sword to his neck. Alright, looks like I managed to tire them out without being touched a single time, which is exactly what I wanted.

He held him as a meatshield and inspected the others, his sword was held tightly against his neck before he would push him and then roundhouse kick the second goon, knocking him clean out, with a front flip he'd dodge another sword strike, he would land on top of the third goon, grapple him with his legs then use the momentum to toss him towards the nearest wall before he would combat roll into a standing position, punch the previous meatshield and knock him out as well.

That was a lot harder than it looked. Chikara wiped his forehead after he sheathed his swords. "Now that is what I call training." The mercenary chuckled as he turned to face the Mimic. "I am almost done with my training, from then on I will put most of my focus on you, sorry for me being a bit selfish but there's a reason why I need to exponentionally grow in strength, for if we let our guard down again..." Chikara stopped himself from speaking as Mimic lacked the rank clearance.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Gara » Wed Oct 18, 2023 4:17 pm

Mimic, his confidence buoyed by his meticulous training in the art of silent movement, observed Chikara's display with a discerning gaze. There was no denying the man's formidable skills; they were the embodiment of martial prowess. However, Mimic, a practitioner honed in the shadowed arts of an assassin, couldn't help but regard Chikara's performance with a hint of critical scrutiny. In the quietude of his assessment, a whisper of arrogance colored his perception. He knew that Chikara, a seasoned warrior, must be holding back, for unleashing his full potential would have resulted in the swift demise of his own comrades. Yet, it was not the level of restraint that perplexed Mimic; it was the ostentation, the flamboyance that grated against his sensibilities.

Chikara's movements were, by all accounts, impeccable, but they carried a flair of showmanship that seemed to defy the essence of silent efficiency that Mimic had come to embrace. In the world of shadows and covert arts, simplicity and subtlety were virtues, while flamboyance was perceived as a liability, a luxury that couldn't be afforded. In Mimic's view, it wasn't that Chikara's skills were lacking; it was the extravagance of his movements that was amiss, a perspective that arose from the heart of his training as a practitioner of the stealthy, silent, and unseen. Mimic's unwavering scrutiny of Chikara persisted until the man's bout had reached its conclusion. His discerning eye absorbed every nuance of Chikara's intricate "dance," cataloging each movement, every attack, and etching them into his memory with an unwavering determination. As the performance replayed in his mind, Mimic analyzed each detail, as if dissecting a work of art to decipher its innermost secrets.

Minutes slipped by, his mental theater brimming with choreographed sequences as he mimicked Chikara's fight. He became a solitary actor on the stage of his thoughts, taking on the roles of both protagonists and antagonists in this ethereal drama. It was here, in the theater of his mind, that he practiced to perfection, seeking to replicate every action, every strike, with unparalleled precision. Mimic's aspiration wasn't to acquire Chikara's fighting style for his own, but rather to replicate it with such fidelity that he could, when necessary, impersonate the man convincingly, even in the heat of combat. It was the ultimate embodiment of his namesake, a dedication to mimicry that extended beyond mere imitation and into the realm of artistry.

In this pursuit, Mimic was crafting a versatile arsenal, a deceptive tool that would allow him to blur the lines of identity and capability. He aimed not just to mimic Chikara's movements but to become Chikara, should the occasion demand it, ensuring that his mastery extended not only to the physical but also to the realm of the mind and spirit. Mimic was under no illusion that his initial attempts to replicate Chikara's fighting style would be flawless; he understood that perfection would require numerous viewings and rigorous practice. The pursuit of such a complex endeavor was a journey, not a destination, and he was prepared to invest the time required to reach his goal. In his mind, this journey was a tapestry still in the making, with each viewing of Chikara's artistry adding a new thread to the weave.

Amidst the odd glances and whispers from onlookers who couldn't comprehend his peculiar obsession with imitating another's fight, Mimic remained undeterred. They couldn't see the depth of his motivations, nor grasp the significance of his namesake. To them, his actions might have appeared curious or even misguided, but what they couldn't perceive was his resolve to excel in the realm of mimicry, a skill that transcended the mere imitation of movements. Mimic's endeavor was rooted in the secret knowledge that mimicry held the key to deception, to becoming a chameleon who could adapt to any role, any situation, and any identity. He understood that the onlookers might never fully comprehend his reasons, but that didn't matter. He was on a path where the destination was known only to him, and he was determined to forge it with unwavering dedication and a commitment to the art of his namesake.

After meticulously dissecting and recreating the entirety of Chikara's battle within the corridors of his mind, Mimic embarked on a relentless cycle of repetition. With each iteration, the movements he executed grew increasingly polished, each one inching closer to the authenticity of the original. It was as though he had transcended the boundaries of memory and entered into the realm of true combat. As he delved deeper into this intricate process, something profound occurred within him. The lines between mimicry and genuine action began to blur, until it felt as if he was not simply reenacting a fight from memory, but actually participating in the battle itself. The boundaries between reality and recollection became porous, and Mimic, with each successive cycle, melded further with the essence of Chikara's combat style.

This transcendence, this fusion of memory and reality, was not just a journey toward perfect replication; it was an evolution of self. Mimic was on a path that led to a place where mimicry was not merely an art but a transformation, a channeling of Chikara's essence into his own being. In the crucible of repetition, he sought not only to replicate the external movements but to absorb the inner spirit of the fight, until he could not merely mimic Chikara's style but truly become a reflection of the man himself. It was an extraordinary metamorphosis, one that would elevate his mastery to unprecedented heights. Mimic had finally come to a stop as he rested on the ground, his chest heaving from over exertion, while his skin shifted to a chalky white, his eyes returning to their piercing red, and his shoulder length hair losing all of it’s color. “I will not be able to perfectly replicate your movements anytime soon, but, in your honest opinion, how did I do?”

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Trusted Grader » Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:26 pm

Chikara took a deep breath and tried to stabilize his heart, he had wasted a bit of chakra but was still good to go for more, he looked over at Mimic and smiled as he asked him how well he was doing with his training. "You are doing great buddy! I never doubted you for a second, you seem like you are natural at adapting to close-quarter combat and the way you have been able to use your ability to your strength is something we will all have to fear in the future." A sinister chuckle escaped his breath.

Something about all having to fear him would surely cause the mimic to think that Chikara was going to keep an eye out on him, for all he knew the man could be turned and be used against the organization and Chikara wasn't careful then the Mimic could slip through his fingers and even pretend to be him, albeit he lacked certain techniques that Chikara possessed...

Chikara turned to face their training field and opened his left palm, Slither slithered to it before he tossed it at one of the dummies and then formed a set of hand seals, he closed his left eye and began to look around at the different shadows of which he was going to travel to. Using the same technique that Slither used whenever it was called upon to travel himself, for one could never be too certain when one was in danger.

All right, If I can figure out how to flatten myself to the size of a shadow and then use the Bijon to steer myself to the nearest shadows then I should be able to create a cool assassination technique, or even better, a faster traveling technique. Sure it will waste a lot of chakra but then at least I can use Shiryoku to surveil and guide me through the battlefields, pop up, kill the target, and go back into the shadows.

Moving on foot had its benefits, moving in the air via Shiryoku had its benefits but to travel in the shadows would be golden, especially if he could travel with Slither. A whistle was called out so the big bird would arrive, flying inside the large cavern system and land upon a pillar, giving it an aerial vantage point, this would allow Chikara to see within his minds eye where he could travel, once the hand seals were finished, his body would be coted in shadows before he flattened and turned 2d, once in shadow form he would move about at 50 speed, to the parts where the eagle could see the shadows, the thin black blob would dance around from shadow to shadow.

He called forth Slither and then stopped behind Mimic as he rose up from his shadow. "Bu." Chikara chuckled as he prepared to stop Mimic from harming him if he tried via reflex.

Chikara couldn't believe that he managed to get another jutsu down, next would be to coat his Susano'o in shadows, that way he would be untouchable, or so he hoped.

516/470

~Eiketsu • Slithering Assassin
A-rank Ninjutsu
After Chikara performs a sequence of hand seals, Chikara's shadow will covet him and flatten him in order to appear like a 2D black shadow, Chikara can then via vision, chakra, or hivemind jump from shadow to shadow within range at the speed of [Control], it will grab a target equal at a strength equal to the users [Control] and allow him to creep out of their shadow while holding the enemy. If the target doesn’t have a perception technique, they will struggle to see this coming and will be often caught by surprise. Lasts for 5 posts.

Chikara wanted to train another shadow technique, and he had the perfect one planned out but he knew that it would be better if he trained something in-between, sort of a pallet changer, so that he wouldn't tire himself out from doing too many shadow techniques, for he would need the next technique if he truly wanted to reach the next level. He was going to push himself to produce a susano'o that reached the next level, currently, he had created an exoskeleton that covered his entire body, well they were rather separate as now, but the plan was to merge the two B-Rank techniques into one A-Rank so he was covered head to toe in ethereal chakra, then from there create an even larger version so he could cover for his allies.

The shadow-coated version will have to wait, for if I can't stabilize it then how will I be able to create a version that is coated? I bet the entire thing will collapse in on itself and I will burn a heck ton of chakra for no real reason, which to me seems like a great waste of time. Shit, sometimes I wish I had a Fukusha to help me train... But! If' I've managed to train so many shadow techniques without the help of a Nara teacher I can do the same with the Fukusha right? Right. Chikara rubbed his chin, he was confident in himself, but there was a reason for it, he had recently become a master of his craft and wasn't going to stop until he reached the level he believed himself to be at.

"Take a step back friend, this part of the training is a bit more volatile, as I am not exactly sure how this will go." Chikara chuckled, then closed his eyes and took a deep breath, once he exhaled he would flush his left eye with massive amount of chakra. His hair started to dance as the purple hue started to cover hi from head to toe, soon it began to hug his skin before appearing as if they were catching flame.

Soon the fire extinguished and formed into a perfect armor, covering him from head to toe. The ethereal armor appeared like some sort of futuristic soldier, giving him an exoskeleton armor that seemed impenetrable, in fact, there were little forces out in the world that could break through it as Chikara was a master of control. A chuckle escaped his breath as he opened his eyes and saw that his see-through armor was in full effect, the perfect exoskeleton armor had been created, now would come the next part, to either expand it to become a true incomplete susano'o or train the S-Rank technique of this armor and coat it with shadows?

Either way, I have managed to protect myself from head to toe. Chikara smiled.

Chikara pondered for a second, before turning to face his comrade. "What you say? Cool right? Designed this shit myself." Chikara didn't want to brag but this was a jutsu he truly enjoyed training, though he knew that genjutsu training was something he severely missed, but that would come in the next training session, he had wasted far too much chakra now to begin training S-Rank techniques.

Deep down he knew which one was the correct answer, if he wanted to be a champion of his people then he would train to expand his susano'o, but if he wanted to be the greatest mercenary that he believed himself to be then he would have to focus on the S-Rank Shadow Exoskeleton, which he knew was the right choice at the end of the day, for one had the capabilities to stop anyone dumb enough to attempt to touch Chikara, hell, they didn't even have to touch him, he could go after them and stop them from moving while he still remained under full cover.

I am lucky that I managed to get this eye, I can't believe how exposed I have been all these years, with this I can not only see the enemies before me but I can also protect myself. Shit... Who would've thought? The mercenary chuckled.

The choice was obvious but the question was whether or not he had enough chakra to train through this ordeal or if he was going to be exhausted once he finished this training, realistically, he knew that there wasn't a lot more he could do after this one, so he chose to train the S-Rank, the other jutsu could be trained in the next session, maybe as a tail end he could train the extended susano'o, he wanted to create one that covered at least half of the susano'os body and focus on using the shield version but add reflective chakra to it, that way he would be able to make short of his enemies or so he thought, especially if he reached an S-Rank version that allowed him to add Shadows to it as well.

The plan is to become the very best and in order to become the very best I must use any and everything in my arsenal to reach goals that seem unattainable to the weak.

The very thought of being able to reflect ninjutsu and taijutsu back at the enemy and capture them within the shadow bind was intriguing, one which he truly hoped to master when he had the energy for it, but today the last jutsu to be ticked off the box would be the shadow exoskeleton, for then he could go up close and fight his enemies and force them to flee, which would cause them to make mistakes as one of the biggest difficulties when fighting was running away and defending oneself.

Chikara grinned, To think that within one year I have managed to make it this far, I should've trained Shadow techniques a long time ago, if I had then I would've been far more efficient but that doesn't matter, I can't dwell in the past, I just got to keep going forwards. Chikara took a deep breath and then exhaled before he began forming a long set of hand seals, he flushed chakra to his eye and then closed his eyes.

Due to the exoskeleton already being out, it was rather easy to formulate the new shadow jutsu that slowly began to creep up the exoskeleton, though it still made the man sweat as he was quickly running out of chakra. Who would've thought that using a foreign doujutsu would be so taxing right? Well either way he fought through the urge to want to puke, his face dripped as he held the final seal.

The shadow continued to crawl up the exoskeleton until it finally managed to turn the entire armor black much to his relief, he breathed and laughed. "Now the final step, is to see if the damn thing even works." Chikara snapped his fingers and two different mercenaries appeared in front of him, he rushed past them both and kicked them along the way, causing them to fly backward he then stopped and turned to face both of the mercenaries and smirked. "Try to move."

The mercenaries looked at each other and then attempted to take a step forward but failed due to the shadows that had been connected to Chikara, a grin rose on his face as he knew that his jutsu had succeeded. I do wonder how many I can trap at the same time... He rubbed his chin, but before he could finish his thought his eye started acting up, it twirled like crazy before shutting down, removing the jutsu. The exhaustion was too great and caused the mercenary to cough and fall to his knees. Shit... I wasted too much chakra... Chikara struggled to push himself up to his feet, his ego wouldn't allow him to accept assistance from his allies, so he forced himself up and brushed his shoulders.

I really need to train my Chakra pool, I can't be gassed this fast in a do-or-die situation, but besides that, I am pretty satisfied with my training. Chikara turned to the Mimic and grinned, his pale sweaty face told him that training was over but he still wanted to make sure that he understood it. "Come meet me here in a couple of days and we shall continue with another training, dismissed." With that he would limp his way towards bed.

[Training] What we do in the Shadows Pt1

Post by Gara » Sun Jan 28, 2024 4:12 pm

Once the adrenaline had ebbed away and his mind regained its composure, Mimic delved into a contemplative state. He sifted through the vast repository of techniques at his disposal, considering their applications and the recent additions from his training session. It was a moment of reflection, a crossroads where he pondered his next course of action. Amidst this introspection, an epiphany dawned upon him. Sound, once considered a hindrance, could potentially serve as a potent tool in his arsenal. It was a realization that sparked a curiosity within him, leading him down a path he had not explored before.

Though not particularly adept in the realm of Genjutsu, Mimic harbored a modest proficiency in the art. With this in mind, he resolved to embark on the creation of his own Genjutsu—a technique that would harness the power of sound to his advantage. Seated in a state of focused meditation, he delved deep into his memories, recalling the fundamental principles of Genjutsu and the intricate mechanics that governed its manipulation of perception. Piece by piece, he assembled the puzzle of his creation, each fragment contributing to the formation of a cohesive whole.

As he visualized the hand seals required, it felt as though he was sculpting the very fabric of reality with his thoughts—a tapestry woven from the threads of sound itself. With each passing moment, the contours of his envisioned technique grew clearer, a simple yet potent Genjutsu that would amplify all auditory stimuli perceived by its victims. In this mental crucible, Mimic channeled his ingenuity and determination, forging a technique that would not only complement his existing skills but also expand the boundaries of his prowess. It was a testament to his relentless pursuit of mastery, an affirmation that even in the realm of the unknown, he was capable of crafting his own path.

Rising from his meditative stance, Mimic embarked on the intricate process of crafting the hand seals for his envisioned Genjutsu. His movements were fluid and deliberate, each seal seamlessly transitioning into the next without the infusion of chakra. It was a meticulous dance of fingers, a silent symphony of symbols woven in the air as he sought the perfect sequence to manifest his creation. In his mind's eye, he visualized the cascade of seals, each one a catalyst for the next, building towards the culmination of his technique. It was imperative that he devise a trigger, a catalyst that would unleash the full potential of his Genjutsu—an amplification of sound that would resonate with devastating effect. With practiced precision, Mimic settled on a sequence of hand seals that resonated with certainty. They felt right, a harmony of symbols that promised to unlock the power he sought. With a surge of determination, he set his plan into motion.

As he executed the final seal with a flourish, a surge of chakra coursed through his body, igniting his being with a brilliant aura of energy. His hands blurred with a speed that defied perception, a testament to his mastery of the art. And then, just as the last seal fell into place, he unleashed a piercing whistle, a sharp and unmistakable sound that shattered the stillness of the air. In that moment, the Genjutsu took hold, its effects rippling outward with a palpable intensity. The whistle acted as the catalyst, triggering the amplification of sound within the illusion, enveloping his surroundings in a cacophony that seemed to reverberate with a life of its own.
