What was Nehan doing teaching the Avian class today? Right, she was here to teach them the fundamentals of combat, they were still looking for a head Avian teacher, and it seemed that the school had trouble keeping them around due to the previous Serpentine headmaster, with the new one elected, also a Serpentine, the quest for a head teacher became harder, it seems that the Lupine had blamed the Avians for doing such a terrible job, or rather the Headmaster who was an Avian apparently, that's the information that was relaid to Nehan.
Yume, on the other hand, couldn't care one bit, he was busy looking over at one of the female students who couldn't keep her eyes off of him, so with a devilish smile he activated his doujutsu and cast a technique on her that would insert a thought into her mind, he had chosen to make her question whether she should go for Yume or not as he needed all eyes off of him so he could make his grand escape!
Yume had been moved around quite a lot, but he had never imagined being placed in such a place, never in his life would he ever dream of an orphanage/school that would take in so many kids and teach them the ways of life, albeit a bit different. The halfbreed was placed in a team called the Avians, apparently he was better at supporting and controlling the battleground than he was leading, which he didn't disagree with but wouldn't wholeheartedly agree with it.
Class had been fine but he couldn't lie and say that he wasn't getting bored of sitting indoors most of the time, he wanted to go out, he wanted to explore the world and most of all he wanted to try the fried fish he smelled on the way to the Orphanage. So when the time was right he would slink out the window like his "Twin" shadow, much to the class amusement, within seconds the boy vanished. He left behind his broom as he wasn't adept at flying it yet, besides, he wanted to stretch his legs, or at least that was his excuse.
He snuck past the large wall and dipped into the forest, hands in his pocket as he thought he made his grand escape. Yume was a free man, all that was in his way now was the path toward the Fisherman's town and any trouble that would arrive. First part of the assignment is complete, tsk... They should've put me in Serpentine. Yume chuckled as he kicked a rock, his path was clear, and the fried fish was going to be his.

If it makes contact with the target, Yume can insert a single thought into the target's head. Things such as "This is a bad idea", "Don't go in there" and "Attack this." The target will be unable to discern where the thought appeared from if they have less [Will] than the user's [Control]. The user has a -1 [Will] for the duration of the technique.

Rei had skipped out on her first class today. It was literature class, and they were going over the strange poetry-music that they claimed the Crescent was founded upon. She had been kicked out of the last class session for producing her bone claws after the boy she had been paired up with insulted her in rhyme. She didn’t understand: why did they call it a battle if she wasn’t supposed to fight? Oh well, no beating followed, and she still got her dinner that night, so it couldn’t have been that much of a breach of the rules.
After that, she wasn’t surprised that no one came looking for her when she didn’t show up. And she was fine that way: she didn’t like being around her classmates anyway. She had a way of attracting stares everywhere she went, especially from the boys for some reason she couldn't quite figure out. She knew she stood out: the white haired, one armed, quiet, scarred girl from abroad. They were pobably scoping her out: trying to figure out how they would team up and take her down. If she still had her other arm, she knew she would be able to hold off an army of these soft children. Without it though, she felt vulnerable.
She knew the teachers talked about her too: discussing what they would do about the one armed girl who wasn’t adjusting well. They were probably wondering if her missing arm would make her too weak for whatever they had in mind for them. Rei hadn’t been sleeping. If she did, she fully expected to wake up to a teachers’ kunai in her chest: purging the weak ones from the school.
Instead of attending class, Rei prowled around the grounds. Quickly, she encountered the school wall. In the past, the wall would have posed no problem to her: one quick bit of Fuuton and she would be up and over it. Now though, she couldn’t use her hand seals. It was possible to make them one-handed, but that was a skill that needed to be learned. One of the teachers had said she might be able to teach it, but that it would take some time.
Rei spotted a tree that peeked over the wall, and was able to channel chakra to her feet to climb up it. She carefully walked out along a branch and leapt down to the ground outside the wall. Rei wandered aimlessly in the woods for a while, drifting from clearing to clearing.
She had been sorted into the Lupine house, whatever that meant. The teachers said that she should be proud to be here, but Rei couldn't see a reason to be proud. She had failed a mission and lost an arm. She was basically worthless at this point.
Suddenly, Rei heard someone moving around in the forest near her. A teacher come to bring her back? Rei crouched down and ducked behind a tree. No, it looked like it was another student. She didn’t know if he had seen her or not. Then, he kicked a rock straight at the tree she was hiding behind. He had definitely seen her.
Rei was not one to sit by while someone threw rocks at her. She was going to teach him a lesson. Rei charged out from behind the tree as long blades of bone came out from between her knuckles.
“Watch who you throw rocks at!” she screamed as she closed the gap between them. Once in striking distance, Rei planted her right foot and swiveled on it, turning the rotation of her shoulders and hips into a strong kick aimed straight at the boy’s stomach.

Decisive Battle Commence!
Yume couldn't believe his luck, he had left the Orphanage behind in hopes of making sure that no one knew that he had skipped class, but to immediately run into another student had to be some kind of bad luck, worst was that he had managed to kick a rock straight towards Rei, now, had the boy been in the mental state to fight then he would probably have defended against the incoming kick, in fact his "Twin" would probably have stopped the kick with the Shadow hold but due to both of them being caught by surprise, Rei's foot came flying out of the woodworks and connected with his chest and sent him crashing into to a tree.
He bounced off it and landed hard on his chest, his "Twin" would push him up to a standing position before eyeing Rei, the shadow would reach for Slither and immediately slink down to 2 dimensions, the "Twin" would rush Rei from the right side, once it got close enough it would return to 3Dimensions and stab at Rei, most likely be met with her great sword but, the "Twin" wasn't thinking currently, Yume' on the other hand was holding his stomach and fighting to stay standing. "What is wrong with you!?"
Yume pushed himself to stand up, his hands were already in a flurry of hand seals, ready to cast a genjutsu in conjunction with his Shadow going back to 2D, if Rei saw the shadow stretch towards him right as he went 2d, then she would get caught within the genjutsu, his "Twin" would split up into three tentacles that all reached out for her, this genjutsu would make it harder for Rei to spot the real shadow, not that it really mattered due to Yum'e lacking physical strength or Control to stop her, no, he would have to wear her down before that could be accomplished.
First order of business, overwhelm her with genjutsu before using his doujutsu, at least that was the plan, at least what he was hoping for, for he had never seen this woman, except for the Inauguration Day, which he barely remembered due to them being forced to move along rather quickly and soak in as much information as possible, perhaps expecting to them get to know each other during school year. "I don't know who you are but I will make sure you pay for this!"

[Erratic Shadow Distraction!]
D-Rank Illusion Genjutsu
After forming a set of hand seals or channeling chakra, the user will force a sum of chakra to his shadow, it will stretch out and attempt to grab the target, if the target sees the shadow attempt to grab them then the Genjutsu has been triggered, within the Genjutsu the shadow will split up into three tentacles that act erratic as they hunt down their target, this makes it harder to tell where the real shadow is, this Genjutsu lasts for 4 posts.

When Rei’s kick sent Yume flying, she relaxed her stance a little and took a few steps closer to where Yume had landed. It wasn’t her intention, but with her bone claws out, it must have looked like she was walking up to finish the boy off. As she prowled closer to him, he activated some sort of clone jutsu, and it helped him to his feet. Rei tensed her body back up, and raised her one arm. Still unsteady from the kick, he demanded to know what was wrong with her.
“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you? You’re the one that threw a rock at me as soon as you saw-”
Rei cut herself off when she saw Yume make a series of hand seals.
Alright. If you want this to be serious then it can be serious. Time to teach you a lesson about messing with me. I’ve killed a man before. Can you say the same?
His clone flattened itself out into a shadow and darted towards her. No sooner had she processed what was happening than she saw the approaching shadow divide itself into three creeping tendrils. Seeing this, Rei jumped backwards to put some space between herself and the shadows – not to mention Yume himself. Midair, Rei stretched her arm and fingers out in front of her. She tucked her head against her arm and closed her left eye – clearly taking aim down it. As her jump began to arc downwards, Yume could see bones begin to protrude from Rei’s fingertips. Then Rei wound her arm up around her head and swung it out, doing her best to pepper all three shadow tendrils with her finger bone projectiles.
As she landed, Rei reached out to steady herself with her left arm. When her absent arm failed to help her balance, she stumbled slightly, but quickly collected herself. Rei placed one leg back and bent her knees, looking as if she was preparing to charge Yume again. Her arm came up to guard her side and face. Through the bony claws protruding from her knuckles, Rei fixed her gaze on Yume, her intense, pale blue eyes boring into him.
For a second, Rei was back in Kiri on the day of her graduation from the academy. The Kaguya elders had taken her from the ceremony and brought her deep into the clan’s compound. Stopping in front of a heavy, iron door, they told her that today was an important day: the day she would become a warrior. Then they opened it and shoved her through. She found herself in a small arena. There was a boy not much younger than her at the other end, shivering in fear. Rei knew what she had to do. She produced a knife from her left arm and charged. He didn’t even fight back, he just threw had hands up and screamed “Please don’t” before Rei grabbed his collar and sunk the knife into his neck. His screams turned to a gurgling sound as Rei pulled the knife out and stabbed him again, and again, and again.
“He was a failed academy student who tried to flee,” the elders told her when she emerged, covered in the boy’s blood. “Go clean yourself up. You meet your squad in the morning.”
Rei blinked and she was back in the forest, staring down Yume. He was shouting something at her. Saying that he didn’t know who she was. Then why had he decided to antagonize her?
Was he trying to eliminate a rival? Then why throw a rock? Why not a kunai? Or was there something else he wanted from her?

Success! Now don't squander this! Yume already had his shadow doing his dirty work, so why not have some fun with it? Yume rushed towards her left in an opposite arc of the shadow she was now engaging with, his true "twin" ran down the middle but at a faster pace than the genjutsu, allowing it to escape the onslaught brought upon by Rei. What the hell is that? Did she really just shoot her bones? No matter, Yume was already in the air, his weapon slinked back to his hand as he crashed it down towards Rei.
He hoped that she protected herself for she was about to feel the kickback, Kabooom!, the bomb explosion went, his sword went flying upwards while his feet were quick to kick Rei in order to push himself further upwards, he bounced off the nearest tree and then leaped towards his falling sword. I can't believe I did it on the first try! And here I was thinking Rama was right... Screw that guy! Yes, this was true, Yume had been training his Air Combat, or rather done the aptitude test to see what he could improve on, and it turns out there was a lot.
His mind flashed to when he was forced to try the obstacle course and how fun it seemed at first until it wasn't, everything became a competition to see who was the best Aviator, the other kids seemed rather obsessed with the thought, especially a bully named Rama, that kid was special, he was one of the best, if not the best, second to Yume of course (Not really, Yume was above average at best) on his best day, the kids continued to jump through the course, not knowing that they had been secretly training to see how fast they could adapt to changing environments.
They played a lot of the floor as lava and forced the idea that the ground was hard, while the air meant freedom, the other kids seemed to fall for that but not Yume, at least not yet that was for sure, but that didn't mean that he wouldn't utilize the techniques he learned from classes. The problem with using jutsu that you recently picked up was that one needed time to master it first before using it on the battlefield, a lesson Yume thought he had learned from before coming to Crescent Coalition, it was what he promised to the beneficiary.
"We are only free in our dreams." He wanted to sound cool, like those heroes he likes to read about, but life had its ways.
Yumes mind saw him grab the sword, yet his body said differently, so instead of looking cool bouncing around for a dope finisher, he instead fumbled the sword, caught it midair, too late to strike, but not too late to defend himself, thank for that! Whether Rei would capitalize on this situation or not depended on how much she paid attention to his twin clone, who was busy forming his own set of hand seals while the Kaguya was busy destroying the fake shadows, it would rush over to her while she focused on Yume and his spectacular failure, he would rise up behind her in 3D and attempt to grab her from behind, he would attempt to interlock their arms but due to her brute strength, she would be capable of dealing with it.

Bullet: Triggered is a bullet that activates a D-Rank explosion from the weapon every time Yuume pulls the trigger, the explosion occurs at the edges of the blade.

A simple taijutsu discipline that allows Yume to fight with his gunblade without the fear of accidentally triggering the weapon, with this discipline Yume can also pull the trigger whenever deems it necessary, with any of his fingers, meaning it doesn't matter what grip he holds the weapon in he will always be able to activate the weapons special abilities.
Bullet: Triggered is a bullet that activates a D-Rank explosion from the weapon every time Yuume pulls the trigger, the explosion occurs at the edges of the blade.

[Orphanage] Escaping the Nest
As soon as Rei landed, she saw Yume charging her, his weapon at the ready. Rei swiped her claws, attempting to parry Yume’s strike. Her plan was to launch a kick as soon as she parried Yume’s blow, but she hadn’t anticipated an explosion. When her The force made her stumble, and Yume’s kick off of her sent her sprawling.
“I’m gonna rip your guts out!” Rei shrieked, picking herself up from the ground. She took a guarded stance when it looked like Yume was going to follow up with another blow.
Oh no! My claws!
Rei saw that the force of the explosion had blown off two of her bone claws and damaged the third. For a moment, there was a blip of panic on her face. It disappeared when she saw Yume fumble his attack and transition into what looked like evasive maneuvers. Rei reached out with her left hand to snap off her one damaged claw, but nothing was there to respond. She snarled. This business of missing an arm was getting old quickly.
Then, she felt something grab her arm and try to lock it. She was able to wriggle away somewhat, but Yume’s twin kept a hold on her wrist. With a primal shout of rage, Rei brought her leg up and kicked it out straight behind her with all her might. At the same time, she sent a spike of bone out of her heel, attempting to plunge it into the twin’s solar plexus.
At the same time, she wrapped her hand around the twin’s wrist as best she could and pulled in, doing her best to ensure that the clone could not escape.

[Orphanage] Escaping the Nest
The first strike hit, and the massive explosion would turn the battlefield white and temporarily blind the duo, meanwhile 150 meters away from their location, just down a steep slope was a bunch of rag-tag bandits on their way to commit a heinous crime, well, at least in the Avian's eyes. They had gathered outside the perimeter, about 400 meters away to steal some Griffin eggs, due to their high value in the black market, these Griffins were under the Avian's protection, meaning that they were sacred to Sky-Reach, or at minimum the Avian house.
"What the hell was that?" Sanji; a scrawny brunette that's 5'6, around 15 years old, and lacks any real physical strength that could intimidate even a 10-year-old, he looked over at his older brother Yaho.
"I don't know but we need to hurry before that shit draws too much attention to us!" Yaho; a burly 18-year-old man, bald and riddled with scars, and looks like a beast of a man.
"Right! Sorry brother"
"Just focus on climbing little brother, we will be home in no time." They were climbing up next to the massive slope, they wanted to reach the halfway point where the Griffin nest was located, would Yume and Rei be able to notice them? Especially when they were busy trying to kill each other?
Battles always got his blood pumping, the very thought of having to defend yourself or your honor, hell someone else honor always got the boy ready to take a step forward, he was slowly finding out stuff about himself that he never knew, for example, he had no idea how attached he was to his "Twin" and how the very idea of the shadow being hurt wounded the boy, so when he saw the sequence of events unfold his heart sank.
But no matter, he knew that if he didn't act quickly in conjuncture with his "Twin" then he would probably lose his best friend, so with quick thinking, he whistled while channeling chakra to his eyes, kicked towards Rei but stopped right before reaching her chest, flip then kick off the air and prepare to strike her again with his Braver attack, though due to his "Twin" twisting his body the bone kick would strike the shadow in his right lounge instead of instantly killing him then going to 2 dimensional right as the kick would land, his grip of Rei would be released as he went into hiding, under Yume.
"I am your enemy! Not my brother!" Yume swiped downwards, this time he didn't trigger the explosion but due to his "Twin" rotating and going two-dimensional, he wouldn't be able to hit her as cleanly as he hoped, in fact, he would overshoot and instead fly right into her as his doujutsu tech activated. He tried to respond with a quick elbow but instead accidentally hugged her as they began tumbling down the steep slope, bouncing and sliding all those 150 meters downwards until Yume flew off of her body due to him lacking the strength to hold her.
He slammed into a tree while Slither flew away further into the darkened woods. Damn it! Yume cursed, he banged his head pretty badly and was not only woozy but saw double as well, This is not good... This is really bad! As of now though it seemed that Rei was still on the ground, but for how long was the question, he had already noticed that she was far stronger than he was and she probably could tank far more damage as well, but if push came to shove, his wounded twin would do whatever it took to make sure that the main body survived.

The sounds of explosion hadn't only attracted the notice of the bandit duo who were up to no good inside the outer grounds of the academy, but also another youth, one who actually had a strangely striking similarity to that of Yume. Another white-haired boy, appearing to be around eleven or twelve was also out and about on this rather decent day, slender in appearance with a colorful Japanese style kimono robe and a brown ruck sack slung diagonally across his back with the single leather strap crossing his chest from left to right walked down a well beaten path from the main school grounds at that moment. His original goal on this nice day had been to sneak a peek at the gryphons and their eggs, something he'd never even heard of before but after joining the Avian house, was told about them and how much they were revered by the house he belonged to. Thus, like any other curious kid, Ziv had set himself off on a little quest, you might say, to investigate the mythic creature and its eggs. But about halfway down the path that led toward a nearby mountain peak, the sounds of conflict happen to filter into his field of hearing but as his bright blue eyes swept across the forest area between him and the distant noise, he was unable to identify whom it was that was fighting.
Most likely it was just two students in a spar, especially this close to the school grounds, but he wandered to himself why they weren't utilizing the traditional training grounds of their school or their houses. The Twin was able to shift itself enough to escape the very worst of Rei’s strike, but not all of it. She felt the extension of her heel bone bury itself in the Twin’s chest. However, as she followed her kick through, she could feel the twin’s body retreat and flatten itself out. Rei readjusted her balance as the twin she had just made contact with moved away.
When Rei heard Yume shout behind her, she wheeled around just in time to see him coming right at her. As she turned, Rei tried to push Yume to the side, but only succeeded in grabbing him by the collar just as he wrapped his arms around her. Rei swung her head back, preparing to headbut Yume as they fell, but as soon as her eyes made contact with his, her mind went blank for a moment.
Then, she was tumbling down the hill with Yume holding on to her. At some point, Yume lost his grip on her and rolled off in another direction. Rei tried to arrest her fall, but succeeded only in scraping herself on the rocks and branches she was failing to gain purchase on. After more rolling and scrambling, the slope evened out and Rei was able to stop herself.
She was laying face down in the dirt at the base of the slope. Slowly, Rei turned herself over and sat up. She was sore, bruised, scraped up, and dazed but not seriously harmed. Her training had allowed her to avoid the worst of the damage. Rei scanned her surroundings: she could see the boy she had been fighting with lying against a tree, some blood dripping out of his hair. Rei felt a sympathetic tingle across the still-fresh scar on the side of her head; a reminder of her final mission as a Kiri nin.
Rei planted her right hand, kicked her feet under her, and rose to a standing position. All three of her limbs hurt, but they were in good working order. Rei turned to face Yume. He was in much worse shape than she was – still not grievously injured – but that head wound looked to be a painful one. As she took a step towards him, Rei heard something behind her. Voices?
She spun around and saw two men standing maybe twenty meters off, staring at her. One looked to be a bit older than her, but very scrawny. The other was slightly older and massive. She could tell from there that they – the older one specifically – were sizing her up. Rei raised her arm above her head and sliced it down, sending a long, razor sharp curved blade out from the side of her forearm.
“What?” she shouted across the wooded forest at the two men.

Inside of Sky-Reach Orphanage, Amagawa, Kazuma was sitting in potions class. He was incredibly adept with the current curriculums level of potion making, so the youth was incredibly bored. He sat in class with his head down on the desk. The teacher was droning on and on about the importance of stirring a certain potion counter clockwise when Kazuma got a genius idea. He raised his hand and when the teacher called on him he excused himself to the bathroom. Kazuma had decided to skip class today.
Walking through the halls, Kazuma was heading toward the perfect wall to make his escape from. In Sky-Reach most of the walls were reinforced with Fuuinjutsu, a preventative measure to keep one particular ninja from escaping class, but the walls Kazuma was heading to had been broken through. Kazuma used ink ninjutsu to disrupt the seals and now he could phase through the wall. It was a small portion, but if he dived just right the young boy could make it outside into the grounds of the orphanage. Kazuma jumped to freedom.
Looking for a bit of excitement he headed toward the forest. There were usually magical monsters to watch and KAzuma was a big fan of simply chilling.
When Kazuma got into the forest he heard the screams of a couple fighters. Stealthily the young boy snuck around the forest, following the noises. When he came to the sight to behold, Kazuma was surprised to see a girl fighting a boy. The Amagawa didn't recognize the two fighters, but he was pretty sure he knew what houses they had been place din. The girl was a Lupine and the boy was an Avian. Kazuma had seen them in some of his classes, but he wasn't one to go out and seek friends.
Kazuma simply watched the fight and what would occur from then.

The two brothers grabbed the hard Griffon eggs (25 Strength) and placed them in their backpacks, Yaho leaped down the 25 meters and landed hard, he stood from his crouched position and looked over at Rei and the wounded Yume and chuckled. "Nothing, focus on yourself and you'll go home safely, oh and keep your mouths shut about this." Yaho walked back and branded his sword as a threatening gesture. They were standing in a small clearing overlooking another slope that was steeper than the previous one, this one would take them down another 100 meters.
The wind blew through the large opening and took the dust on a ride, the spring breeze cooled their sun-kissed skins and brought with them a strong smell of feathers and furs. Who are these guys? What are they even doing here? Yume struggled to comprehend what was going on, his twin was busy trying to pry the sword out the tree, for now Rei would be the one to deal with the situation, so depending on what she answers things might go differently.
The clearing made this the perfect place for a Griffon but also a good place for thieves to steal their eggs. "I don't think... You are allowed to take them." Yume struggled to get up, he shook his head and tried to focus on what was ahead of him, seeing double didn't help the young dreamer get the situation under control. [Orphanage] Escaping the Nest
Following the sounds of the crash as the robed youth continued to walk, though at a slightly faster pace than before, Ziv would come to the end of the trail that pushed out into a clearing, having taken a side trail that led down the mountain side instead of up towards the griffin's nest which had been his original objective. There he stopped just before the end of the trail and used the cover of a couple decent sized trees as he peaked his white-haired head around the rounded edge of one of these trees to survey the situation. The very first thing that his eyes landed upon was his 'twin' so to speak, it was Yume, the boy that he'd met just earlier during the Avian aptitude testing and seen his performance on the obstacle course section they raced against. But at first glance the boy seemed to be injured as his eyes tracked over to a young-looking girl, with two distinct features of her own. The fact that she seemed to be missing an arm and the second that she held what looked like a bone weapon in the arm she still had. 'Is that a weapon crafted from bone?'
Ziv couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as his thoughts had already labeled the youth as slightly creepy, even without meeting her in person and speaking with her and getting to know her story. The sounds of the fighting must have come from the two of them, over what they had been fighting for or over, who really knew but both appeared to have some injures from the little scuffle. Yet, it was the voice of someone older than the two fellow students that caused the hairs on the back of the boy's slender neck to stand up slightly. 'Robbers?' Their attire was enough to label them as someone not from the academy ground, yet it was what he saw in their possession that made him narrow his thin little eyebrows in concern. "Those are griffin eggs?!" It was a whisper to himself, but he couldn't help but speak aloud in this situation despite him trying to remain hidden at the moment. For it was exactly that, each of them had a single griffin egg in their possession, the thing that Ziv had traveled out here to see. In the introduction briefs and lessons that he'd received over the past couple of days since arriving here, the Avian house had spoken in many regards as to how important the griffin eggs were and how many coveted them.
'I can't believe that I've been here a couple days and there are people stealing the eggs of the momma griffin!' This time he managed to speak to himself in thought, but nevertheless he was still fuming with anger that someone would attempt to steal a child from its mother, even before being able to meet her. The child himself only had a few memories of his mother, due to her illness and early death, but he was still able to sympathize. From his bag he brought out a small scroll, tossing it open as string of chakra came to life on his fingertips directly reaching into the scroll causing the storage seal inside of its to activate now. As this happened, he circled around the clearing, attempting to get to the left side of the two men who were currently addressing Rei with a raised sword. Though he didn't know the girl, he did know Yume and these two greedy fellows were satisfied with just the eggs they had already taken, but now wanted more after accidently bumping into the two students from the orphanage. This had caused for the boy's metaphorical cup to spill over, from the tree line closes to the men's left side a metallic looking figure burst through into the clearing.
Wide wings spread out on its back, one could barely see the thing strings of chakra that attacked to the back of the puppet's body parts, from within the tree line the boy drew back his left hand and the index finger curled to the palm which caused the puppet's lower left arm (has four arms, two on each side) to reach out revealing a senbon launcher. "Click!" With a simple click a blast of twenty senbon shot out towards the nearest man, whistling through the air at twenty speed and strength from the barrel of the launcher towards their target. A bit of a surprise attack on Ziv's part, not something he would normally do but this was a bit of a special circumstance, after all.

[Orphanage] Escaping the Nest
OOC Note: Between my last post and this one, I had to rework Rei considerably. She is no longer a Kaguya. She has both arms again, and is also a jinch. We’re just going to move on with that to keep the thread moving.
Rei let out a low growl and glared at the two men. She began to channel chakra into her left arm, and black smoke began to emerge from underneath the bandages that covered it. The smoke began to flow towards Rei’s arm as if guided by a mind of its own. Soon, it coalesced into a oudachi with a black handle and brilliant silver blade. The sword was easily as tall as Rei, but she wielded it expertly. Without taking her intense blue eyes off the older of the two men, she grabbed the hilt with her right hand as well and settled into a fighting stance.
“You want something?” Rei spat through gritted teeth before breaking into a full scream. “I’ll run it right through you!”
Rei dipped her sword behind her and took a step, preparing to charge the men when something burst out from the treeline. Glancing up, Rei saw some sort of four armed mechanical human flying out. She was about to change her stance to face the new threat, but before she could, she saw the puppet shoot a volley of senbon at the two men. Whatever this thing was, it clearly had the same enemies she had.
Rei turned her attention back to the men. They had been just as surprised by this development as she had been, and now also had the problem of senbon raining down on their heads. Rei used the opportunity to charge. As she sprinted at the men, she began to spin her sword in front of her at [10 Strength and Speed].
I suppose it makes sense to leave the boy in this situation. Yura-sama whispered into her thoughts. Bigger fish and all that.
As Rei got closer to Yaho and Sanji, she suddenly leapt into the air. As she neared the zenith of her jump, Rei tucked her head and shoulders and transferred the momentum of her spinning blade into a somersaulting overhead strike. After completing a turn, Rei let out a guttural yell, and aimed her sword straight at Yaho’s head, combining the force of her spin and her falling into one powerful strike.

Any attack or technique used after the practitioner uses this technique will be instantly launched at the practitioner's maximum Strength and Speed.

Taking to the sky, the practitioner jumps off of the ground, engaging their weapon in a ferocious spin. The practitioner can choose to complete this technique in one of three ways: a powerful diving swing or thrust, a somersaulting overhead strike, or a midair dodge by swinging the weapon in any single direction and allowing the momentum generated by the weight of the weapon and the swing to carry them in that direction. Due to the sheer momentum of this technique, if the practitioner's Strength is higher than the opponent's Endurance, any armor or weapon used to defend against this technique will be rendered ineffective, either by being rent from the opponent's hand or broken outright. This technique is not as effective when performed with a normal sword or katana.

It was quite surprising to see what was going on. Kazuma was concealed inside of a bush, laying on his stomach. When the two thieves came out in the open with a Griffin egg Kazuma was quite surprised. So far he had only heard rumors of Griffins living on Sky-Reach grounds, and Kazuma never believed what he was told when it came from random gossipers. The Anguin House was famous for starting rumors and Kazuma was sure to stay out of that sort of business. What he saw was definitely beyond his imagination. The Griffin egg was mighty and large. Kazuma wondered if it was fertile, and furthermore he wondered what these thieves were up to with a legendary alchemical reagent.
As an alchemist Kazuma was strictly dedicated to potion making. Much of his time at Sky-Reach orphanage was spent studying potions and poisons. Kazuma was well versed in many advanced alchemy recipes. He loved working a cauldron, and seeing a Griffin egg lit up his imagination. Kazuma was a big fan of mystery potions. He figured the egg shell alone was worth beating the fuck out of these bandits. Kazuma was about twenty meters away from the scene, hiding in the bushes. He decided that he would attack these bandits. The one they were talking to had their attention, and Kazuma stood up swiftl, preparing to lunge forward with his sword.
That was when a barrage of Senbon came flying from out of Kazuma's sight. He turned around and looked to see a puppet being maneuvered through the trees. It was certainly intimidating to Kazuma, and he decided lay back down until the battle played out.

Yaho chuckled but stopped once the puppet leaped out of the bushes, his little brother Sanji was quick to cast a barrier to block the incoming senbon while Yaho's sword electrified, the groggy Yume and his shadow were quick to dash towards the egg thief as well, in hopes of assisting Rei defeat the enemy. Yaho would choose to duck and block the overhead strike, trying to nick her with the electrical blade while Yume drew Slither from the tree via its shadow move technique as he slid under Rei, he spun around and he clicked his weapon to explode.
His shadow would stretch out and grab Yaho with tentacles, piercing his legs as Yume neared him, he wouldn't be strong enough to him forever but long enough for him to strike. Yaho's leg shattered and got cleaved, causing him to scream out in pain and fall to the ground, Rei, if she got nicked would fall on top of him in a comical sense, but the blood gushing out of Yaho made Yume not laugh. That was gruesome. Yume pulled Rei off of Yaho and gently laid her paralyzed body (If she was) where she wouldn't get bloodied.
As Yaho continued to scream he would grab his bag and move it near a tree base, as he felt the egg wasn't safe on the back of someone twisting and turning. "I'll leave it here for now." During all of this his brother Sanji was busy casting multiple barriers to protect himself from the incoming barrage of attacks, he began to panic once his brother screamed in pain, leaving him unsure what to do. On the one hand he wanted to help him but if he did so at this point then he would be killed by the swarms of projectiles coming his way.

From Zao's position that had him just barely outside the edge of the tree, he wasn't able to clearly see Yume or Rei, but this was on purpose as he was attempting to not overexpose himself. Being a puppeteer wasn't about fighting out in the open with the user's puppet, it revolved around a bit of strategy, if one was able to keep their selves concealed while their puppets managed to attack a target then it allowed them to put yet another piece of friction on that individual's plate. Having to both contend with the mechanical puppets which hid who knows what kind of deadly weapons and such plus they didn't know exactly where the user of these puppets was, making it difficult to attempt and interrupt them. This was one of the things that made a good puppeteer so dangerous in the right setting, Ziv was trying to take advantage of the situation at hand just due to his rather unimpressive puppets, in his own eyes, that he currently had and perhaps help out his friend Yume and the other female student he didn't know.
If they all went to the same school, Sky Reach, then even though she might not be a part of their house it should be the duty of a fellow student to help protect them. Just as important was the griffin egg that these two crooks had managed to steal away while the mama griffin herself was off finding food. Hopefully this could be settled before she managed to return or else all of them might become accomplices in this crime against her unborn offspring, as she wouldn't just come to find the two men with her egg but Yume, Rei, and Ziv all in the same spot fighting around her precious life essence. Yet, that thought wasn't even on the white haired kid's mind at the moment as he saw the translucent blue of raw chakra forming in front of the man, not one but one after the other as he seemed to be rapidly burning through his own chakra to completely reinforce his front and flank from attacks, especially the senbon that a moment later crashed into the first sheet of chakra shattering it but were nullified by the second pane.
''Dang, I didn't catch them off guard. Time to use all my strength!" He spoke aloud to himself with no one near enough to hear his tiny voice as with a wave of his right-hand chakra strings disappeared from the four-armed suit of armor and then extended from the hand into the puppet storage fuuin causing a large puff of chakra smoke that would reveal his position to those in the clearing or watching nearby. From that cloud of smoke five chakra threads attached themselves to the ten-meter-long puppet as it slithered through the air from the edge of the tree line almost like a flying snake would have done. It moved with decent speed (10 and 10) as it opened it large maw revealing rows of kunai like teeth that chomped down on the next barrier as its clawed fingers grabbed at another sheet, finally the whip like tail snapped around attempted to circumvent the flank barrier coming over the top of the barrier to strike at the man's head. But it two was completely stopped as it hit a newly formed barrier, but the barrier was splintered with cracks...it looked like at this rate he would be able to potentially overwhelm the man if he just pushed as hard as he could.
With a flick of his left hand the four-armed puppet released a second pod of senbon and then charged in behind it as its large metallic feather covered wings spread out wide as its fly forward. It would attack the frontal barrier that the man was forming slamming both of its large wings forward around its body and into the barriers. It was just as the second puppet joined the up close and personal assault that the other man screamed for help causing the hidden puppeteer in Ziv to shift further around the tree to see Rei midair swinging a massive sword down from above. But the scream wasn't from the female student who had yet to reach her attack range but instead from below as what appeared to be Yume's shadow had taken the big one with the large egg by surprise, his legs seemed mangled and bloody, a scene that Ziv personally wasn't accustomed to as he had to divert his attention for a moment and attempt to focus back on the other trespasser. This was the gore of a battle for life and death, but he was still young and not really ready to see something like that, even from an enemy.

Just as important was the griffin egg that these two crooks had managed to steal away while the mama griffin herself was off finding food. Hopefully this could be settled before she managed to return or else all of them might become accomplices in this crime against her unborn offspring, as she wouldn't just come to find the two men with her egg but Yume, Rei, and Ziv all in the same spot fighting around her precious life essence. Yet, that thought wasn't even on the white haired kid's mind at the moment as he saw the translucent blue of raw chakra forming in front of the man, not one but one after the other as he seemed to be rapidly burning through his own chakra to completely reinforce his front and flank from attacks, especially the senbon that a moment later crashed into the first sheet of chakra shattering it but were nullified by the second pane.
''Dang, I didn't catch them off guard. Time to use all my strength!" He spoke aloud to himself with no one near enough to hear his tiny voice as with a wave of his right-hand chakra strings disappeared from the four-armed suit of armor and then extended from the hand into the puppet storage fuuin causing a large puff of chakra smoke that would reveal his position to those in the clearing or watching nearby. From that cloud of smoke five chakra threads attached themselves to the ten-meter-long puppet as it slithered through the air from the edge of the tree line almost like a flying snake would have done. It moved with decent speed (10 and 10) as it opened it large maw revealing rows of kunai like teeth that chomped down on the next barrier as its clawed fingers grabbed at another sheet, finally the whip like tail snapped around attempted to circumvent the flank barrier coming over the top of the barrier to strike at the man's head. But it two was completely stopped as it hit a newly formed barrier, but the barrier was splintered with cracks...it looked like at this rate he would be able to potentially overwhelm the man if he just pushed as hard as he could.
With a flick of his left hand the four-armed puppet released a second pod of senbon and then charged in behind it as its large metallic feather covered wings spread out wide as its fly forward. It would attack the frontal barrier that the man was forming slamming both of its large wings forward around its body and into the barriers. It was just as the second puppet joined the up close and personal assault that the other man screamed for help causing the hidden puppeteer in Ziv to shift further around the tree to see Rei midair swinging a massive sword down from above. But the scream wasn't from the female student who had yet to reach her attack range but instead from below as what appeared to be Yume's shadow had taken the big one with the large egg by surprise, his legs seemed mangled and bloody, a scene that Ziv personally wasn't accustomed to as he had to divert his attention for a moment and attempt to focus back on the other trespasser. This was the gore of a battle for life and death, but he was still young and not really ready to see something like that, even from an enemy.

[Orphanage] Escaping the Nest
As Rei spun through the air, her sword collided with Yaho’s, sending sparks flying from the blades’ meeting point. Below her, Rei could see the man shifting his weight, clearly preparing for a counter strike. At the same time, she saw Yume’s shadow stretching out below her, reaching towards the man’s legs. When Rei saw the shadow turn into spikes that pierced the man’s legs, her eyes went wide.
If I land on that I’m dead.
Rei pushed down onto the hilt of her blade and tried her best to redirect some of her momentum around the blade. She arched her back, pushed her legs up behind her, and was able to generate enough force to push herself over Yaho. As she went over him, her hands left her blade, and it dissipated back into black smoke.
Rei landed into a crouch a few feet behind Yaho. She was facing away from him, and could hear more commotion happening behind her. She turned her head and saw Yaho screaming and gently tossing his bag away. The younger man was a little distance away, bringing up barrier jutsu after barrier jutsu. The mechanical man who had launched the senbon earlier was bashing away at one of the barriers, and a mechanical dragon had joined the fray.
Rei stood up and prepared to summon her sword again, but hesitated. She wanted some distance from the man and his sword, at least until she could summon a new weapon. Still, with his legs pierced like that, the man wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon. And even if the puppets were attacking her enemies, Rei didn’t want to take any chances that they might turn on her as well.
Kill him. Yura-sama’s voice echoed in her mind. Kill the one with the sword. Or the boy from before. Or even the other interloper. Just. Kill. Someone.
Rei bolted from her spot, weaving around the barriers which were phasing into existence, getting closer to Sanji. When she was finally in range, she saw him stop making hand seals and reach for a dagger on his belt. There wasn’t time to make a new blade, but Rei would need an advantage in range. She skidded to a stop and quickly pivoted on her left leg, bringing her right leg up into a roundhouse kick aimed at Sanji’s torso. Just as it seemed that the kick would come up short, a sphere of black smoke appeared near the balls of her feet, and a short blade shot out, turning the kick into a powerful slash aimed at Sanji’s chest.

Sanji was panicking, his brother wasn't doing well and his screams indicated that he didn't have long before he might bleed out, so his hands were quick to form a set of hand seals, the barrier trick worked for so long until he had to pull out his ace. He reached for his dagger as he turned to face the incoming Rei, right as she sliced toward him he disappeared underground, like a speedy mole. Ziv would have a single opportunity to either attack him while he turned to face Rei or go for the Griffon egg on his back, for once he dipped underground he would zoom towards his brother. The ground would protrude as he moved around but his speed was so fast that he could almost run laps around them, giving the kids ample example that one's physical powers can be altered via jutsu, the skinny brother wasn't as fast before.
Surprising Yume as his right leg appeared out of the ground, the kick was blocked by Yume, the following hurricane kick was blocked by his shadow, the Dreamer couldn't see it from his perspective but Sanji jumped out of the ground and spun kick four times as he grabbed his older brother and dipped underground. Once the two brothers were gone they would be given a second to breathe. "That was.... What were they doing here? This is bad...." Yume paced back and forth, not noticing Ziv's puppet yet as he was still locked in on the blood trail from Yaho, Sanji brought along the leg so there were only the scars of a short dispute and Yaho's life source.
I really messed that man up... Yume hugged himself as he crouched down, he wasn't sure what to feel about harming someone to that level, he had never done it before, hell, he usually pulled the trigger much earlier to avoid a deep cut but he felt desperate this time. Meanwhile, Kazuma would be able to witness the entirety of the previous action from his vantage point, although him not using any stealth technique was surely going to bite him in the ass. Kazuma would be able to spot a third and final egg, laying on the Griffon nest, giving him 3 options, either go for the brother's stolen egg, the one left in the Griffon nest, or stay hidden.
"I... I don't think we can stay here, we should leave." This wasn't usually how Yume reacted to things, he was distraught, and felt that he had lost control of the situation, so standing around what could possibly be monstrous eggs was probably not the brightest idea. What if their parents return... Damn it. Yume looked over at the egg in the bag, his Avian classes had drilled him about how important it was to preserve life but it still didn't feel like this was his place, it felt like this was a third or even second-year assignment.
He could almost tell it in the wind, something was up but due to him not having any tracking or censoring techniques he was unsure of it, but something was coming, or worse, something was already here. What is that strange feeling. A stone dropped in his stomach as he nervously looked around, instinctively he raised his left hand and began to call for his hoverboard, he needed speed. This would be the last chance any of the orphanage students could pick and choose how things would continue from here on out, each had different objectives drilled into their heads, and each response was correct as Sky-Reach wanted their students to be self-sufficient and capable of making rash decisions, a change in the curriculum due to past self-aggrandizing students.

When Sanji disappeared underground, Rei turned her kick down to bring herself back into a combat stance. Slowly, she circled in place, swiveling her head to watch for Sanji ambushing her from underground or for Yaho charging her. As she watched, black fog seeped out from her left arm and coalesced into a large sword again, which she gripped with both hands. When she heard Sanji burst out of the ground, she swiveled to face the sound that the noise had come from, raising her sword as if preparing to charge again.
As the two brothers disappeared beneath the surface, Rei relaxed a little. She was clearly still combat ready, but no longer winding up an attack. When a moment passed and nothing happened, Rei relaxed further. The puppet was continuing to sniff around the pool of blood left over from Yaho’s wound. She didn’t trust the thing, but it seemed that it didn’t pose a threat to her. For now, that was.
Rei dropped her left hand from the hilt of her sword and rested the dull side of the blade atop her right shoulder. With the relaxed, predatory stride of a cat looking for bits of food, Rei went over to where Yume was.
You should kill him. Slice him up good. Between his head wound and the fight just now I bet you could make quick work of him.

It took a few moments but the duo of the large wooden dragon puppet and the four armed, armored one managed to shatter the translucent chakra barriers that after breaking evaporated into what seemed nothingness, rushing forward the large maw dragon puppet was the closest as Ziv whipped his right hand across his body as the open mouth of the puppet presented its kunai like teeth inside as it attempted to bite down directly onto the man. But he was truly too fast, whatever the supplementing technique he used was, it worked as the man's hair just barely escaped the closing jaws of the dragon but in a last-ditch effort the man's index and middle fingers clenched tightly. The motion redirected the puppet to spin to the right as the dinosaur like clawed hand swiped down at the sinking shinobi, using some doton based escape technique, the hand only managed to snag the large pack with the tip of its claws, pulling one direction as the man was trying to escape downward in the opposing direction now. RIP! The straps to the bag that were around the man's shoulders gave way at the seams and ripped from his shoulders as the tug of war ended and the pack fell to the ground closer to both Yume and Rei as some material from the pack could be found on the clawed fingertips of the puppets that finished twirling around.
From his vantage point, the young man could only see the actions of the man as a blur as he appeared a distance away from where he had disappeared into the ground performing a simultaneous attack against the other two fifth year students before grabbing his injured brother and making their escape now. 'So fast, I couldn't even clearly see his movement...' It was a learning moment for Ziv, who thought he was progressing well only to see something that showed him he was still far from the end game, these had appeared just a little bit stronger than each of the entry level students individually but even when it seemed they were pressed into a hard corner they still had escape techniques at their disposal. Unable to detain these men, Ziv obviously not being the killing type at this point in his life having never even considered taking the life of another, even his enemy, the white-haired Avian could only shake his head. With the current threat gone, his eyes fell back on two things before him: the first being the large griffin egg that had landed near the two other students, so large that it protruded out of the top of the hiking style pack and then next to it his friend and the dangerous feeling girl.
Having been told the importance of the griffin egg, at least to the house he belonged to perhaps not the school as a whole, Ziv understood that he should probably help put it back having not even considered what might happen if him or the others were to be caught by the parents of this enormous egg. Exhaling slowly the man collected up the partially open scroll on the ground and with it in hand he slowly revealed himself from the right side of the battlefield, his appearance rather close to Yume who was holding his knees at this point and Ziv could understand that he was probably like himself, having never harmed someone in such a way and as he moved he made a motion with his hands and shortened the chakra threads attached to each puppet causing them to retract closer to him as he made quick stepped approaching both Rei and Yume, having no idea that another was somewhere nearby. The egg wasn't going anywhere, at least that was his thoughts as he put his friend ahead of taking custody of the egg and attempting to return it back to its proper place in the nest, which he wasn't quite sure where that was either.

The youth was sincere in his words as he spoke towards his fellow classmate and friend now, his voice matching his tiny frame as his bright blue eyes then traversed over to the egg and the female who he'd seen manifesting weapons to fight with, what a unique ability she had. He wondered what house she belonged to as this was the first time he'd seen her, but that wasn't saying to much as the year had just begun and there were probably hundreds of students he hadn't met or seen outside of those in his house or current class schedule. Hearing her words he chimed in with a gentle nod, "Yes, it is a griffin egg. We should probably put it back from where those two tried to steal it." Ziv would toss out his suggestion, not knowing what the girl was thinking as she spied the egg nor did he know if she wasn't an enemy, herself. So, for the meantime, he hadn't sealed away his two puppets just yet, nor did he know if the speedy man who had saved his brother would come back to attack them in a sneak attack.
