[Invasion of Iwa - Konoha Offense] Battle Site 3 - Southwest Wall

[Niro]

The Wall of Iwagakure no Sato could be confused as part of the mountain range if one didn't know what they were looking for. The monolithic structure stood 150m meters tall and boasted a thickness bragged about in innuendos continent-wide. Today, however, only 50m of its impressive girth would be fought on as the Blast Shield had been raised to cover the village. Centered at the top of the section of Wall stood one of the defensive towers, its own height rising an additional 40m into the sky while its base, which touched against the Blast Shield, measured only 30x30m.

At the base of the wall, a thin 2m strip of earth separated the base of the Wall from the moat of lava surrounding it. The moat was filled with burning hot lava sloshing about measuring 30m deep and reaching out 100m into the icy tundra which made up the valley the village was situated in.

Taiga and Nobu will be at this site, starting at 200m away instead of the normal 100m.

「そうね！岩と戦わないでってことばだったばさぁ」

そのすぐに壁から延くんが見えないぐらい遠くなりました。

Stopping a little further away at about 220 meters, the ninja Noboru Aizawa suddenly stopped moving and his eyes went to the monolithic stone wall of the Iwagakure no Sato paying close attention to his brother Yoru's orders and that of his senior Taiga... For Taiga-san, Fanho-sama was like Takeo-sama was for his older brother Yoru. It could be said easily that Taiga was the right hand man of the Hokage.

In a loud voice Nobu spoke aloud to the people on the wall, "As I recall, that Takeo... he did have one request for our brother before he left for the Land of the Wind." While doing that, he started back-pedaling a bit, laughing hysterically, and suddenly turned around and started running away from the battle with full force.

"Right- he said it was to not fight with Iwa dattebasa" the young man said before he disappeared from the view of those on the war, too far away.

He'd considered mooning them but it didn't seem of much worth.

[Kanade]

Kanade looked out from her perch on top of the wall, situated right on the edge of the massive structure. The calm before the storm had frayed her nerves. Her own smithy and restaurant were a scant kilometer away from the wall, having already been evacuated since it could be within the warzone of the village. Her daughter, Akiyo, had also been given to her friends, Tandala and Cherisa, whom she had worked with in the Spirit's nest. Being one of the only Enkouten couples who were not disgusted by Kanade's takeover of her body, they made good babysitters when she was out, or otherwise occupied by shinobi duties. Her thoughts lingered on where her daughter was for another moment before she looked at Shinjiro.

"Guess that the calm is broken, and the storm is here." She pointed to a couple of figures on the horizon. Kanade got up, dusted off her hindquarters, trying to get the nervous energy out, "I'll protect the tower if you want to do something about them?" She was addressing not only Shinjiro, but also the other man whom she had never served with before. Her eyes flicked over to the two figures that stood right on the edge of the battlefield that Konoha had picked. Her section of the wall was what they had chosen. Bad luck, she thought, but then turned back to trying to remember the other Jounin's name. His name was- What was it again? She thought for a moment before it came to her, Yoshito.

"Alright you two, I am going to give you some seals, if things get hairy, I should be able to protect you from harm through them." She walked up to Yoshito and placed a seal on wherever he offered her, and did the same to Shinjiro, "And Shinjiro, we talked about the golden minute, we have to make it count, so give me some sort of signal before I loose it." She wove more hand seals and placed another fuuin on each of the combatants, the "fight the power" fuuin which she had obtained from Tatsuo's wife. She tried not to look too nervous at the outset of battle, but the tension was building between her shoulder blades.

"These will protect you if you go outside of the range of my control seals, which have a range of one hundred and sixty meters." She dropped two kunai on the wall with fuuin that were the opposite to theirs, and one with the seal that was opposite to hers. "I can recall you here, if you truly need it, but don't get overconfident that I will be able to recognize you are in danger." She paused for a moment, and with the remaining time she had before the start, she placed a final fuuin on each of them, which barely fit.

She spoke, and this time it was her mind to theirs, "Use this to communicate. Unless it is broken, it should be better than just talking. Use it only to relay needed messages, and try to stay off the line with mindless chatter." She spoke, her mind to theirs. It was time to go big or go home. Her butterflies, unfortunately, would not survive the harsh conditions of the lava, and so she had left them to guard her child, Cherisa and Tandala. Feeling rather naked without them, she looked out, and noticed that one of the combatants was already running as fast as he could away from the tower. Perhaps to get reinforcements?

Pulling her gas mask over her face to fit snugly around her mouth and nose, she shrugged the familiar weight of the Omni-directional Movement Gear to a better situated position on her shoulders. She wondered what the other figure would do, not recognizing either from their distance, 220 meters from the wall, and 120 meters from the furthest reaches of the lava field.

A-rank Force Fuuinjutsu [50 control]
The user will channel the needed chakra and touch either themselves or an ally. Depending on the [Control] it is casted with, the fuuinjutsu will cover between 25%-90% of the users body. Once struck, the fuuinjutsu will activate and reflect strikes until broken. Ninjutsu will bounce back in the direction they came from and taijutsu strikes will rebound upon the opponent's body. Attacks that break through will not be reflected.

The user will channel the needed chakra and touch a single ally to grant them the [Directional Seal]. The user can direct jutsu they cast through the [Control Seal] to the [Directional Seal] to apply to their ally.

[Mind Communion]
A-rank Augment Fuuinjutsu
The user will channel the needed chakra before they touch up to 3 allies and grant them a [Mind Communion] seal which forms between their shoulder blades. Those with the seal are able to communicate and share thoughts with each other.

[Izanagi]

The Jinchuuriki peered over the edge of Iwa's great wall, the eerie green glow of his eyes assessing the approaching figures. Ordinarily this wouldn't be his fight, he belonged in Kirigakure. Not here. Tensions were high in his homeland and every hour that he spent away from the mists of his island filled him with a sense of foreboding. His family was ever in danger and there was no telling who would use his absence as an opportunity to strike. The faster he could finish this and return home the better. Of course, it was only for family that he was here in the first place; Kanade and the daughter they created together.

He glanced back to the Enkouten woman at his side as she began casting jutsu, enhancing him as they had previously discussed. "Dont take any unnecessary risks. Stay on the wall. Trust me to handle them" he insisted. He didn't even consider the third member of their squad. His life was of no value to Shinjiro and what he did was of little concern to him. "I wont let anything happen to you" he assured, touching her cheek tenderly. He listened to her explanations stoicly as he watched one figure turn and retreat. Reinforcements perhaps or a tactic to lure them out into an ambush. But it was the other figure that truly interested him. 'No, it cant be' he realized as the glow from the lava field illuminated the features of the grey haired man standing in the distance. "Taiga" he muttered under his breath, and he felt himself hesitate. There were few who would stay his blade and give him even the briefest sense of doubt. And now two of them would be forced to fight another with Shinjiro caught in the middle defending a village that was not his own. "Kanade. Listen carefully. That man is a Jinchuuriki, you are not to kill him. Capture if you must. Do you understand?" He warned, any sense of tenderness faded, replaced by deadly intensity. His eyes darkened and his features hardened. He would not allow either of them to die, and if they fought one another with lethal intent he would ensure they each suffered accordingly.

With that the man would leap into the air, running across the sky as if it were solid ground as he crossed over the moat of lava until he stood 20 meters in the air above solid ground. Slowly, cautiously he would begin to descend. "I dont want to fight you Taiga. Dont make me" he pleaded. He had visited the man shortly before the war. Each of them knew this day might come and Shinjiro had explained to him his reluctance but that he had personal interests he needed to protect. Taiga had a duty to follow his Hokage into battle but how far would he go for the sake of Konoha and for the sake of avenging their former leader? "You can walk away" he insisted, dropping to the ground if Taiga didn't show any hostile intent. As a precaution, Shinjiro would at least coat himself in an aura of crackling green lightning as he descended. Taiga had beat him before in the Aroma country tournament but as always Shinjiro grew from every loss. However, he was sure Taiga had grown stronger and learned new skills as well.

These shin guards of black steel have been famed throughout history for their use by the notorious thief Minkai. The greaves allow the user to walk on air as though it were solid ground, following the flight rules using the wearer's [control]. When not flying the wearer can move at any speed in utter silence and their footsteps leave no visual trace. It is said the greaves allow their wearer to teleport through the air instantly. This can be used once per thread and does not count towards the restriction of two teleports per thread.

*Raiton • Lightning Armament
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After the correct hand seals are performed, the user coats themselves in a thick layer of lightning. This armour of lightning forms near instantly and requires [35] Strength to break. During this time, the user's physical strikes apply the Raiton shocking effect.

[Taiga]

Merged with the earth and all it's materials itself Taiga sat to the side of Nobu.

Nobu wasn't wrong. Though similarly Taiga had little respect for the late Hokage, Takeo had never wanted war between Iwa and Konohagakure. And, as Fanho had ordered them, they weren't to engage in it. It wasn't like he wanted to be in this shitty ass hellhole of a locale anyways... and yet, as Nobu promptly left, for just a few seconds longer Taiga lingered.

The hair on his back stood in defiance of gravity and as a signal that he had truly felt something bewildering. He could feel that another was here- one whom which he shared a deep connection and kinship.

Aye, it's him boy. the voice of Sukairaa chuckled, the Genma taking an odd level of amusement at the emotional conflict Taiga was now working to push aside as his heart began to beat like the sound of a thousand war drums and his body tingled with the warmth of the summer's sun. He steeled himself to the steel that ran through his body, he hardened himself like the earth in which his feet sat, as he hovered above the ground.

His eyes, like a bird of prey, focused across the battle field. Even at 220m away he was certain that upon the wall stood someone who had meant something to him. He was certain who it was that was there, his hand against another.

You're not supposed to be here...

His eyes watched as that person caressed the head of whoever else was upon on that wall. It wasn't a friendly or fatherly caress. It was something else entirely. Emotions flooded through Taiga's being. Before the tender embrace could finish and Shinji could depart the wall, he would be gone. Long before the man ever floated his way down to the ground to ask them not to fight- to walk away even if he wanted.

Sinking into the earth at full speed he'd take off leaving away, grabbing Nobu when he caught up and then pulling both of them kilometers deep while he continued off and far away back to the camps or shores or wherever he could go. Wherever he could go that was far away from here.

His stomach was like a knot all the way home; the next time him and Shinji met perhaps there would be nothing to hold him back.

After making contact with an eligible piece of solid matter and making contact with another party or item, Taiga will utilize his Genma abilities to assimilate himself and the target, for as long as contact is maintained. After assimilation, both parties will be able to "phase through" or "merge through" objects matching the materials he has assimilated. Breaking contact at anytime will cancel this effect and cause the other party to be "ejected" out of the object they are in unharmed. This technique must be used with a discipline for the appropriate material he is merging with.

Prerequisite: [Perception]
With immense willpower and perception skills, Taiga has trained himself to be one with his environment much like birds of prey. Able to keep his focus in all situations with great pose he is cognizant of subtle details around him, capable of honing in on the slightest changes of air or even the smallest movements in the fibers of an opponents clothes, allowing him to pick up on their movement and predict it before it is complete. This can also be used outside of combat for lip reading, or even guessing what someone writes by watching the eraser of the pencil etc. This causes him to seem rather ADD at times as his eyes rapidly tracking movements around him. A downfall to this technique however is that while his eyes and brain may be aware of movement, his body is not always capable of knowing and keeping up. Meaning he has to be physically capable still of responding to threats or capitalizing on weaknesses, even if he perceives them.

Phantom Sensory Evolved
A-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Prerequisite: Phantom Sensory
Building upon the training Taiga has done to feel that which he is merged with, Taiga has honed and trained his sensory to an even greater level such that he is able to feel the pressure shifts and changes and even the presence of chakra along an object surface which he is merged into. This works at up to [Endurance] x 2 meters away from his position inside an object. For example, a bird flapping its wings would cause pressure downwards on the ground, or a fireball ripping through the ground would heat the air above the ground. These are all things he can sense.
