Stat Training

Post by Hooot » Tue Apr 29, 2014 5:26 am

Hayate woke up that morning and felt like he should get some training done. He hadn’t had a free day in a while, with all the chores around the house since planting season just ended. He looked outside and the sun was just coming up, his parent’s wouldn’t be up for a few more hours. Hayate’s parents don’t really respect ninja training, so they don’t make much time for it so he usually likes to sneak away and go train before they wake up. Usually getting home in time for lunch. When leaving his room he had to cross his parents room who were sleeping, his dad quiet and his mom snoring.

His mother snoring always made Hayate laugh, his father was quiet as a mouse, but his mother sounded like a lion as she slept. He tiptoed across the wooden floor creaking with each step. He winced every time hoping they wouldn’t wake up. When he finally got into the kitchen he sighed in relief, okay no more sneaking now. He opened the pantry and got out a piece of toast and some butter, they always had fresh butter. He toasted the bread on the skillet and added the butter, he sat down and ate it, he’d need the energy for training.

After he finished eating he wrote down on a napkin that he was going out, if he didn’t do this and his parents woke up he would be in a lot of trouble. He knew he’d probably get into trouble anyway, but this will lessen the blow a bit. He grabbed his jacket near the coat hanger and stepped outside. Once he stepped outside he stretched and yawned. He loved the mornings on the farm, the air still cool, and the sun shining. He decided he would walk to his training zone and begin. Once he was at the edge of his property he facepalmed, he forgot his ninjutsu books in his room. He sighed knowing if he went home now he had a huge chance of waking them up. Though he didn’t feel like training anything else, so he walked to the house. Entering the door, keeping it slightly ajar so the sound of it shutting won’t wake anyone.

He takes a deep breath in and begins walking to his room, the wood creaking with every step, again he winced. When he finally got to his room he saw his pack laying next to his desk. Alright he thought, grab the bag, get outside, go train simple. When he bent down to grab the pack and lifted it, some how the strap got wrapped on the leg of the chair, which then proceeded to plummet to the floor. Quickly he caught a few inches before slamming into the floor, inevitably waking up his parents. His heart was racing, he quickly placed the chair back. He then sneaked past their door once again, the wood still squeaking. His parents must have been really tired.

Once outside he closed the door behind him and began to sprint to his training ground. He hopped over the fence and began jogging to the meadow, it was only five minutes away. When he finally reached the familiar ground he placed down his pack on the large rock and sat on the tree stump. He crossed his legs and took out a book it was labeled “Advanced Katon Techniques.” in bright red letters. Since fire was his elemental affinity, he thought it would be good to recognize them better.

The book started off explaining the basics of chakra manipulation. Shape transformation and natural transformation. He was a bit rusty since the academy, he hadn’t opened a book in at least a few weeks. With planting season and not having that many books to work with he didn’t devote a lot of time to studying jutsu as he probably should. He read that Katon is very different from the other elements, it’s form and movement were very odd compared to some of the more defined elements. The example used was a Doton user, when he creates a rock, it has a shape, it has a build, it moves how the user would like. Katon was slightly different, a fire can get larger even against the will of the user. It’s movements were also strange, it wasn’t solid like rock, so it could be moved by heavy winds. Though through it’s unstability came it’s power. A small pebble may only create a bruise, but a small flame could burn someone to a crisp. It could catch on there clothes and burn their hair. Thats why Katon and Control go hand in hand, without the other, your fire will usually end up hurting more than it helps.

Hayate always loved Katon for the reason that it was uncontrolled. His family was very rigid, wake up, do your job, go to sleep. Katon was his tiny rebellion, it was unstable, it did as it felt. With it was an unspoken deal he made with his conscious. He would have something in his life that would surprise and excite him even if it he was the sole creator of the flames.

Once he finally got through the basics of Katon and jutsu all together he decided to read some of the more powerful techniques. He skimmed over some of them but one in particular caught his attention. Amaterasu, the sun god technique, flames so hot that they burned through anything. He’d read this book a few times before, but he usually skipped to the end, he never noticed the first technique labeled “S” class. He read it, and his jaw just dropped. Flames that could destroy buildings, forests, cities. He thought it was the perfect technique, despite the physical harm is caused the user. He still thought it was the best thing ever. That was his goal, to learn that technique, no matter what.

He continued to read, and look at the other fire jutsu, and the required steps to learn them, but Amaterasu was still in the back of his head. Hayate wasn’t violent, nor did he like to destroy but he just thought the power was beautiful, he wanted to acquire it. With such a powerful jutsu, he could probably prove to his parents, and his uncle that he was a successful jutsu. So from that day on, he would train hard, and never hold back, he wanted, no he needed to learn that jutsu, whatever it takes.
