[Mission] Wolves Amongst the Sheep

Post by Lacarix » Tue Jun 24, 2014 8:34 am

It was a beautiful spring morn in the land of fire, fresh dew resting upon the grass clinging on to the blades as though to be holding on for dear life as the bright morning sunrise threated to fend them off. It was peaceful and quiet for the people of flames, the civilians were waking up and heading out to work oblivious of the two wolves that hid amongst the sheep, ready to devour and slay them.

In the forest that surrounded konoha were the two sleeping wolves resting in a makeshift tent to protect them from the wilds of the night. They would soon be awaking from their slumber, readying themselves for the task set before them. However their task wouldn’t be as simple as they had hoped, the cavalry in all its glory was coming for them.

The two men of Konoha were stood inside the Hokage’s office, but not to see the hokage himself but an official had given them their orders “We are relying you two.” He said with a nod as he pointed to his office door, he had very little information to give them. In a sense they were on their own, it would be hard to track down the two men but if the leaders of Mamorinuku couldn’t do it, who could?

[Mission] Wolves Amongst the Sheep

Five years ago, Yaku had plotted this moment. From the moment he studied the dead Hyugga girl to the moment he disappeared from Henkou. It had all resulted in this. His patience and sacrifice had paid off. His completion impended above them all. He did not know what to think now that he was here. The forest was just beyond his gaze.

"Wake up." Yaku grated. His voice was cold and demanding, lacking any sort of humanity. His body hovered over his accomplice, watching the demon stir in his sleep. Enma was beginning to wake. "It's time."

The two missining nin never stayed in one place for too long. They were always on the move, coming closer and closer to the hidden leaf village. Yaku stood apart from the camp ground, staring contently at the edge of the Konoha forest. The long thin blades of grass blew against his knees. The sun was barely rising, beckoning him forward. His eyes watched, enchanted at the treeline. Thousands of Shinobi laid peacefully in the middle of that forest, oblivious and unknown to the horrors outside it. If only they had any idea to what was coming.

The wolves began to stir.

Above the two wolves there in the clearing, a murder of crows watched over them with cold gazes. Some of the larger, wiser carrion could speak but whatever vile comments they wanted to make were kept unsaid. Enma slept like a baby despite the atrocities he had committed. Yaku had been given the peculiar gift of his companionship and it had provided a certain level of insight into the former Jounin's habits and true personality. Some nights were hectic with him thrashing about in his sleep. Other nights, the ones after a long day of murder, were peaceful.

Stirring from his sleep, he sat up and felt something remarkably human. After all the talk and bravado he'd put on for Yaku whenever his plans for invading Konoha were brought up, the crow sage found himself nervous. They were two men attempting to steal knowledge from a superpower. When death was not a real possibility, it was something he welcomed with a taunt and practiced nonchalance. Looking to the inhuman cowled man, he felt a gnawing hatred at his ability to remain calm. "Yeah yeah, I'm getting up." Enma replied with a snide tone. "'Can't I sleep a few minutes late, mommy? Have some cereal for breakfast? Didn't you teach me not to go killing on an empty stomach?" He was being deliberately childish. Enma knew it would not annoy Yaku (or at least, not in the way it would most people) but it was a token gesture, one they both knew was coming and they both expected.

Time was of the essence. Enma knew this forest well enough and he had no doubt a patrol would be sent once the sensors picked up the combined gargantuan chakra of both men. Eating a roasted squirrel and getting dressed, he tied his gas mask around his neck and equipped himself for battle. They'd been over the plan and Enma couldn't tell who had the tougher job. His partner had to sense across the forest and decipher the defenses of the village (which had no doubt changed since he had left) and he had to defend the cowled man. As he scaled a nearby tree, his crows took flight and disappeared above the tree line.

"Don't be a burden." A familiar voice called from the trees. It was time for them to move.

The two gray orbs did not blink, watching Enma and his childish banter. "'Can't I sleep a few minutes late, mommy? Have some cereal for breakfast? Didn't you teach me not to go killing on an empty stomach?" Yaku observed Enma with his usual awkward stare, not responding. The more the Fushinkou got comfortable with someone, the more his manners disappeared. He saw no point to being polite, especially when it gained him nothing. Yaku said nothing for several moments, barely moving. Enma could have just as easy been talking to himself... silence followed his words. In the company of Yaku, one soon learned that Yaku's personality was the lack of personality. He had none and with a few more seconds of cold staring, Yaku turned.

"If you weren't so useful, I would have just killed you long ago." Yaku's callous words was his unnatural attempt at being funny. In some ways, it was even a compliment (something that the S-rank missing nin rarely gave out). However, even so, the words came across as bitter and condescending. Humor and its art just didn't fit on the Fushinkou at all - it was unsettling. Yaku let his ambiguous words to be taken as a threat or compliment, whatever fancied his partner.

With barely anything else to be said, it didn't take long at all to get ready.

The two missing nin were shoulder to shoulder, two billowing cloaks flapping against the wind. The trees were the only things that stood between them and Konoha. For a long brief moment, they didn't say a thing. Both of them only staring, enjoying the sanctity of safety one last time. The shorter of the two glanced at the other, but not a word was uttered. They both knew what it meant once they passed the tree line. Everything before this had been childsplay... this was the real deal.

And with a nod, they took off. A dark streak graced the skies as they darted into the trees. Henkou was on the move.

"Don't be a burden."

"Burdens? I removed those long ago." The full implication of Yaku's response had more to be realized. Yaku had killed many burdens, emotions and comrades alike. He eyed Enma one last time before pressing forward.

Yaku was full of himself. Any halfway intelligent person would know that from a few seconds of conversation. The dismissive attitude, the matter-of-fact statements. Enma never had a father but he imagined Yaku acted like the model of one. It made him sick. "If you weren't so fun, I'd have slit your throat in your sleep." Drawing a knife, he cleaved a nearby tree branch. The two shinobi shared a momentary gaze. No normal man could cleave a branch with such a small blade. "Nah. Just kiddin'~! I bet when you die, you're going to have the best surprised face." His nervousness was starting to slip away. The Enma that was more than a simple killer, the man that hid in plain site while murdering people in Konoha, didn't like that. Fear kept him alive. Meticulousness, nervousness, planning ahead.

Being true to himself had killed his nerves. It dulled his wit. A maelstrom of emotion was wailing inside of him while he remained utterly calm on the surface. Yaku had given him a black cloak. Cloaks (or most pragmatic articles of clothing for that matter) weren't really his style since leaving the village. It was about being gaudy. His life was about the grand performance. And it was for that reason that he humored Yaku. He'd give the role he'd played most of his life one final, grand performance. The saboteur, the smiling shinobi, the paragon of discretion. The man that was promoted to Jounin the day he turned eighteen, one of his village's finest agents. He pulled up his cloak and allowed it to obscure his face.

An idea popped into his head as they moved farther into the forest. Raising a hand to stop Yaku for a moment, he weaved hand seals and bit his gloved hand, drawing blood. Slamming his hand against the ground, a summoning circle spread and from it emerged Demise, the first crow he ever learned to summon. "Fly up and check the area for trouble. If someone tries to cause us trouble, give them an ambush and don't be obvious about it." If Demise had any teeth to grit, he undoubtedly would have done so before grunting and flying off.

"If you and your boyfriend have to die, at least die somewhere secluded so I can pick your bones clean."

Turning back to Yaku, the crow sage gave a carefree smile. "Don't I just inspire the best loyalty in my friends?" The other crows, the young whelps, were spread out as Enma had instructed them. Divided, they were just normal crows traveling through the forest. Not saying anything else for a time, Enma let Yaku take the lead.

Yaku did not waste time.

His mind flashed, evoking a new image that transcended the normal scopes of man. This was an image that couldn't be seen, but felt. Obscure to Enma and many others, Yaku saw what many men couldn't. His enlightened eye surpassed him, racing even faster than Yaku himself. The trees, grass, and sky became almost non existent. Moving at speeds unseen, his senses quickly left the physical world. His sight deteriorated. Yaku was staring at a different dimension... a dimension that only recognized one thing. Chakra. His ability allowed him to identify sensors such as himself, but even more so, it allowed him to tell how far their reach went. He could see it all. Pockets of unmarked and unwatched areas revealed themselves to him. His mind reached out and he was running, Enma close behind. Large swaths of land went undetected and Yaku took the opportunity to advance.

Navigating through the edge of the forest was easy, but the closer they got, the two missing nin, would find the power of Mamorinuku hard to fool. Both Yaku and Enma gained ground, but it became increasingly slower as the two were forced to wait, sometimes halting altogether for the sensor patrols to pass by. Yaku made sure to keep a wide berth from any sort of detection. Any trace of a fuuinjutsu and its occupying chakra was avoided like the plague. His sensor abilities allowed him to see the full extent of any fuuinjutsu's reaches. He silently ushered Enma and his crows forward.

"At this rate, we'll be lucky to get within 10 miles of the village." Yaku looked disappointed, his eyebrows revealing an expression of dissatisfaction. The Fushinkou had hoped to get much closer, but his expectations would have to be cut in half. His voice came out in a hushed whisper, aware of the threat around them. Their expectations wouldn't be met, but Yaku knew that he could make do. I will just have to expend more chakra than anticipated.

"Konoha has grown weak in peacetime" Yaku began, his voice as stoic as ever, trying to reassure himself. The Fushinkou's eyes were open, staring at the perceived direction of the village. He did not give Enma one glance. "Their trust in the world is ill placed. Twenty years ago, we would have never dreamed getting this close. I suppose we can only be thankful for this opportunity. Our existence is paramount to their growth."

Yaku raised his hand, pointing to somewhere in the distance. It had to be only a mile away. Were they here? Both of the missing nin began diverting slightly from the abundance of trees to a small ridge that jutted outward from the ground. It inclined upward, even standing over a few trees and giving the observer a slight view.

"It has been years since Konoha's last threat. You can only imagine their boredom. Their complacency. Their sense of security. I find it... interesting to say the least." His body perked, noting the significance of their arrival.

The small ridge was just before them. They both halted.

Prerequisite: Sensor
If a fuuinjutsu is producing chakra into the atmosphere, Yaku will use his sensor skills to look at the chakra being emitted. By watching the way the chakra moves, he can understand the direction it began from. To do this, he will need to come into contact with the chakra and concentrate before having a full understanding where the chakra circulates. This will help him in locating hidden fuuinjutsu.

For a few peaceful moments, Enma remained quiet and allowed Yaku to work. The taller shinobi talked up a storm about his sensor jutsu but it wasn't until it saved them from being caught by a patrol that he began to appreciate its use. Enma was fast but Yaku was in a whole different league. It was easy to forget in his arrogance that the blue cloaked nin was the most wanted shinobi in Kirigakure for a reason. Enma kept crossing his fingers and hoping that he kept up with Yaku well enough that he didn't get them caught. To his credit, whenever his leader changed his course suddenly or stopped, his reactions were instantaneous. Through the treeline, he could see Demise hovering above them. The crow was not fast or especially capable but he was useful to have around.

Still, he hated his inability to contribute. Gritting his teeth and flexing his hand muscles, he kept himself mentally prepared for when the fighting inevitably started. "They're sheep." Enma's voice oozed with hatred. "They sit there preaching about their will of fire...fuck the will of fire. The world hasn't had a good war in a century. Beliefs don't mean shit if they're untested." The words were hushed, whispered in one of their momentary pauses to allow a patrol to go by. Yaku probably wanted him to shut up again and just this once, he obliged as they moved on. Demise was above them scouring the area for movement.

The two missing nin were now 15 miles away from the village. Close, but not close enough. When they got to the ridge, Yaku halted. He increased the range of his sensing abilities and waited. Long awkward moments followed as Yaku closed his eyes and sifted through the forest momentarily. They were approaching Konoha from the west side, the closest side to the Hyugga compound, Yaku hoped to get a good read of the complex before leaving.

"Humans are just too expressive to ever remember the past. They're just so caught up with the present... they fail to look behind or forward. Entertaining actually." Yaku sounded almost as if he was amused by the whole thing, seemingly enjoying to hear himself talk. "Which is why we have war. We have to remind them every century or so. It's all pattern and-"

"This way."

Yaku halted, raised his hand to stop Enma and pointed off to the distance. Without saying a thing, they avoided whatever Yaku had pointed at. He made a wide detour, but soon, they were back on path. It wasn't much further. Almost there.

The two men stood on the ridge, Enma crouching low so as to avoid detection. A pair of men in cloaks was certainly a suspicious sight. The discretion that the bloodthirsty shinobi had to display when he was a part of that pitiful village was resurfacing. Yaku talked. What he said made sense. Of course, it was framed in a way that made him seem like he was above it all, superior to the entire human race.

Enma aimed to one day prove that Yaku was decidedly human.

But that day was not today. Today, and the day they drove their sword into the heart of the fire country, Yaku's sense of superiority would serve them well. "Just once a century? Aw. That gives them enough time to forget and become really boring." One of the most disgusting things to him about Konoha was how they tried to play the good guys, the good-will village. "That village makes me sick. They try to act so high and mighty. Like they're above war. You know what I did for that village, day in, day out, from the day I turned eighteen til the day I left? I killed people. I helped make the village look pretty on paper."

Standing up when Yaku broke off his thoughts and ran off, he muttered "I hate pretty things." Before following as best he could.

"Quiet."

His gaze brought their attention to a small clearing, nestled between some trees. The next piece of the process was about to begin. The Fushinkou estimated that they were roughly 10 miles away from the village. Chakra became too dominant past this point, it would be nearly impossible to move forward unscathed.

"Keep alert. I will make preparations here."

Yaku's body slowly knelt itself onto the ground, finding a place to sit on the clearing. His legs crossed and his eyes were already beginning to close. He made sure to aim himself in the direction of Konoha. He would become completely immobile with this new jutsu he had prepared.

"In this process... I will be completely dependent on you. The jutsu will take its toll and require my absolute concentration" His voice was clear, signifying the importance of Enma's actions in these upcoming moments. "We cannot allow anyone to break this focus."

As if on cue to the last word uttered, his hands clasped in one sudden motion. The jutsu had begun.

Utilized for range, the user will direct their sensor in a single direction. Instead of sensing in a whole radius of themselves, they will focus straight ahead, narrowing their range to a semi-circle. Due to wanting to achieve max great range, they will need to sit and meditate with eyes closed. For each post of meditating, they are able to see two miles out, up to a max of posts equal to half their control. Utilizing long distance sensor can be very taxing for the user.

"Don't take too long." The man in black muttered before Yaku fell into his sensing trance. If anyone happened upon them there in the woods, they'd simply think that the two were a pair of lost travelers or something. Enma knew Yaku was relying on his ability to keep people talking moreso than his battle capabilities. If Konoha sent someone, he had to distract them long enough for the meditating shinobi to get what he needed. He started formulating a cover story in his head. They were both dressed humbly. Yaku's face was hidden and even if it wasn't, Konoha probably wouldn't know what he looked like.

They could be monks making some sort of pilgrimage or meditating. If that failed, he hoped that he could still get the element of surprise. Weaving his fingers together, he did a few hand seals and changed his appearance. Enma's clothes were still the same but his face looked much more humble, a slight hunch in his back making him appear much older than he actually was. While no one else was around, he practiced various pitches and tones to try and find the right voice for his new role.

"My name is Junpei Isizu. My companion and I are monks from the fiyah temple." Biting his tongue upon mispronouncing fire, he tried again in a lower, slower voice.

"My name is Junpei Isizu. My companion and I are initiates from the fire temple, out making th- BLEGH!" Enma stuck his tongue out in disgust. That was was no good. Maybe something a little higher? He was supposed to be older and bass was weathered with age.

"My name is Junpei Isizu. We're monks from the fire temple completing our initiation ritual. I'm glad it was shinobi that popped out of the bushes instead of a bear or some other creature." He sounded almost serene, and pretty believable.

Nailed it. Now I just have to hope I don't actually need to USE that line. He paced and hoped Demise was hidden nearby. With how vast his chakra pool was, the crow was barely draining him.

Everything else was only filler, trivial distractions to Yaku and his jutsu. While Enma was bothering himself with the right words and phrase, Yaku was enveloping himself with miles of lush forest. Forever expanding, his sensor range continued to grow, taking on miles at a time. His fingers slowly revealed a small parchment, a blank scroll for this exact purpose. With one hand on the sheet and one hand up in concentration, he began to sift deeper through this forest, straining his focus to understand the complexities of Konoha.

He saw glows of blue, chakra emanating from fuuinjutsu, and some things that were just indescribable. In this type of sight, no trees were seen, no grass or human. The color and its deciphering was an art. When Yaku analyzed a fuuinjutsu, he swept its contents right onto the parchment. The source of information being analyzed at once was impressive, no easy feat for the regular shinobi.

Watching his partner meditate made Enma Junpei feel at ease. Things were going smoothly so far. The nukenin monk assumed that his partner fellow initiate would let him know if anyone was coming.

For now, all he could do was pace and watch the woods. There was no telling what manner of beasts were lurking out there.

From a nearby perch, obscured by the brush, Demise and several crow whelplings were observing the two in the clearing. Pecking under his wings, the shinobi crow's talons grasped the branch below tightly. He wanted a fight. This whole affair lacked bloodshed and bloodshed was what Enma promised him. He hoped someone came along shortly.

Alright. So Yaku/Enma are in position. I don't know how you guys want to handle Shikari and Kawa finding them but you can RP that out. Yaku needs 8-ish rounds of sensing to get everything he needs. Kawa just groaned as the exited the two large gates of Konohagakure no Sato. It figured that they would be sent on a stupid patrol run today. They had just recruited the Sakugu into their cause and now they just needed a few more clan backing to really get their organization off the ground and set as the primary response and defense center of the village.

The Sakugu had been a pain to deal with primarily because they didn't realize that their group was still small; they had tried for a leadership position but Kawa had shot them down quickly which had both pros and cons. It showed they weren't going to give ground to those who they didn't believed deserved it and that they were staunch in their stance but also it strained their new relationship. Kawa wasn't too worried as he was only a faction leader; Shikari was the true leader here.

"Oi, Shikari. Let's get going. I wanna take a nap in some trees or something because five coins says today is boring as hell." Kawa bet his partner, adjusting his gear and making sure everything was strapped down securely. "Hell, I bet we're not going to even come across some stupid bandits that wandered a bit too close." He continued on, starting his trek from the gate to the treeline. Honestly, the village should've dropped the forest back from its current position another mile so that any invading force would just come straight into a kill hall but noooo. Whatever.

"So, got the route ready? We're headin' towards that one pretty ridge I think. I bet you and Katashi would definitely enjoy it~" Kawa teased as he took to the trees with a laugh.

Don't we have people for this? Shikari thought to herself with a groan. It was so early and after a late night of sorting through paperwork for the organization, the last thing that she wanted to do was patrol the forest all day looking for what may or may not be there. There were so many other things that she could be attending to that didn't involve walking through a humid forest all day.

Exiting the gate alongside Kawa, Shikari carried the location that they had been given in her hands, figuring out the best route for them to take. "You know, it's thoughts like those that are going to get us ambushed." she said to her partner, "So just for that, I'm going to take your little bet and hope you get decked by a bandit that got a little too close." Though mostly joking, there was some truth behind her statements. The last thing that she wanted was to get swarmed by bandits while Kawa dozed off in a tree.

Studying the map in her hands, Shikri was finally able to mark a preferable route through the forest that would get them to their destination about 15 miles out at it's furthest point. And, as much as she hated to admit it, they did happen to pass by the ridge that Kawa had mentioned. "Alright. I've got our route set." she said as she folded the map and placed it in her pack. "Just remember, that ridge is just as good for pushing people off of it as it is for looking up at the starry night sky." She said with a bit of sisterly snark as she walked on ahead, expecting Kawa to follow. It was going to be a looong day.

"Yeah yeah. Good thing we're freakin' ninja who can walk on water and on solid surfaces huh?" Kawa snarked back as he continued through the trees as Shikari walked along the path. Eh, it wasn't a great position to be in but most people couldn't find him here unless they actually looked up. The trees in the forest itself were pretty huge but starting from the village they weren't too high up. You'd figure they'd need to be huge to hide a freakin' village in their leaves.

The pair continued their patrol through the woods, sticking mainly to the path while scouting out any small oddities that they found. Not much coming through this way right now.

"Hey Shikari, wanna open up your sensor abilities? Check for any actual people because right now, we're just traveling along the path. Figure it'd pick up any people hiding off to the sides. Y'know, illegal immigrants." Kawa went on as they traveled along.

"Yeah well that only works when there's a solid surface for you to actually walk on now doesn't it?" Shikari asked rhetorically, not even bothering to look over at her jounin companion, "You better grow some wings there pal because I'm going to send you soaring over that ledge." She declared, though they both knew that she wouldn't follow through with the threat.

As she walked the path, Shikari could hear Kawa leaping from tree to tree beside her. Unbeknownst to him, she had opened her sensor pathways the moment that they had left the village as a precaution and was subtly sweeping the range of her abilities, trying to feel any inconsistencies or any other sources of chakra in the area. The pair walked, or in Kawa's case hopped, for a while creating quite the distance between them and the village. So far, there was nothing interesting for them to note. It was just another seemingly boring day of walking the forest.

"I've got nothing so far. What about you? Seeing anything we should be looking into?" She asked her tree hopping friend, though she knew that if he had actually seen something he wouldn't be keeping it to himself.

"Who needs wings when I can form solid chakra under my feet for a platform? Pffft." Kawa countered to her declaration.

"Nothing so far. I think we-wait, do you hear that?" Kawa asked as he looked at the sky. THAT happened to be a hawk that was aiming straight for Kawa. "Looks like we got some news from the village." Kawa muttered as he held out his arm and the hawk softly touched down on it. He took the message from the birds left and fed it a small piece of dried fruit from his supplies before it took off. Kawa read the message quickly and then performed a small Katon jutsu to reduce it to ashes.

"Sakaki's seals were set off by two people a bit earlier in the day. We're not the only patrol out right now but apparently we're the closest. The seals went off about a mile out from the ridge. They're definitely not merchants as the seals were broken and a couple more went off too. Let's get going but be careful." Kawa told Shikari as he sped up and went from a light jog-hop to more of a sprint.

Shikari watched as the hawk descended from the sky and landed on Kawa's arm. Knowing that it likely carried an urgent letter, Shikari leaped into the tree, landing beside Kawa so as to observe the note as well. Peering over his shoulder, Shikari began to read the note but, before she could finish reading the note, Kawa reduced it to ash, causing Shikari to give him a narrow eyed glare. "You could have waited until i was done reading it at least." She mumbled to her partner, "But regardless, we should check it out." She said as she turned to take off, leaping from tree to tree.

With her sensor abilities at full alert, Shikari moved through the trees at a high rate a speed alongside Kawa. So far, as the pair quickly covered ground, she had not picked up anything out of the ordinary and Kawa didn't seem to see anything either. As they closed in on the area, however, things changed. Putting an arm out to signal to Kawa, Shikari slowed her pace, figuring that Kawa would as well. Eventually coming to a halt in the trees, Shikari would move closer to Kawa so as not to make too much noise. "There's someone up ahead." Shikari told him, having felt the presence of a chakra signature up ahead. "There's something...odd, about them too. I can't quite place it but we should approach with caution." With that, she would begin to move slowly in the direction of the figure.

Within moments, the pair were within range of the chakra signature that Shikari had first sensed and soon she was sensing yet another chakra signature in the area. It wasn't long before the source of the first chakra signature came into view, a rather humble looking man that didn't appear to be a threat. Then again, some of the biggest threats never did. "It seems that he has a friend with him." She whispered to Kawa, "Why don't you go talk to him?" She suggested, figuring it was better for one of them to hang back and play the support role. And if there was one thing Shikari was good at, it was playing support.

[Mission] Wolves Amongst the Sheep

Yaku had sensed the pair the moment they had stepped out of the Konoha gates, barely caring at first. Scrutinizing them with his sensor jutsu like all the rest, he moved on. Neither of the two possessed a bloodline, but held a significant portion of chakra, similar to Enma's chakra pool. They were most likely Jounin. Strong perhaps, but not a concern. Nothing of worth. The assessment he gave to most things, Yaku rarely changed his mind once he moved on. However, the pair would soon prove to be one large nuisance. A small blip on his radar, but a threat. They were coming dangerously close and with a flick of his mind, he snapped his attention back to the pair. Who were they? Yaku was forced to reassess the pair, sacrificing crucial time. Their alert and open chakra meant they were cautious, most likely aware of Henkou's presence. When their stride slowed, the Fushinkou was forced to divert some of his attention. His eyes still closed, he lifted his head slightly in the direction of his partner.

"Two Shinobi are on their way." A strained and tense voice cut the long moment of silence. Yaku was still meditating, refusing to relinquish his concentration. The chakra was slowly ebbing from him and it was evident in the Fushinkou's voice. "Deal with them."

The pair would be in the demons hands for now. Yaku did not have the luxury of time to treat such trivial threats. His focus was just moving beyond Fuuinjutsu, now beginning to peer inside the city of Konoha- or at least a portion of it. His eyes stalked the citizens, sweeping large swaths of chakra with callous and indifferent eyes. No...no.... no. Useless. Passing quick judgement on most things he came in contact, only one man interested the faceless shinobi. The Hyugga clan leader. The key to his completion. Yaku trained his eyes on the Hyugga compound.

Knock. Knock.
OOCShow

I'm now attempting to locate/sense the Hyugga clan leader based on his chakra and memory from the hyugga girl we killed. Just wanting to assess his chakra. Alert me when/if Yaku comes into contact.

And so, very quickly, the interlopers found themselves the subject of scrutiny from shinobi from the leaf. Enma heard Yaku's words and never broke character for a moment. He was no wolf in sheep's clothing now. No growing threat to the safety of the leaf. He was simply an initiate named Junpei on a pilgrimage from the Fire Temple. To his credit, the Fire Temple did send their initiates out on stupid pilgrimages like that. Yaku was sending him out to deal with them and so, it seemed, the shinobi was sending someone to speak with them. From beneath his squinted eyes, Junpei gave a weak smile as he walked forward, his gait noticeably different to Yaku from Enma's normal walk. Into this part, he was totally wrapped up. Raising a hand in a show of friendship, Junpei stopped a reasonable distance from the shinobi that was sent forward.

"Hello there, friend. My name is Junpei and I am an initiate from the Fire Temple. My friend and I are completing our meditation together." His voice was cracking, high and wizened. Holding his hands together in front of him, he bowed in a show of submission. The forest around them was still, as if the audience was caught up in Enma's performance. The whole world wanted to see if the shinobi would buy the story. "My friend, Taikou. He gets so caught up in his meditation that a bear could sneak up on him and he'd scarcely notice until it was gnawing on him." As if just to make sure his friend was okay, Junpei looked back, making sure to only look up into the treelines in his peripheral vision.

Demise, wisely, had flown away upon the mention of other people being in the area. When Junpei turned back towards the shinobi, he had the same humble smile on his face that all monks seemed to wear. He held his hands together as he awaited the other person's reply.

"Got it, Shikari." Kawa replied as she mentioned being cautious. He really wished that she could place what was off about the two. Hopefully nothing too dangerous. Maybe they had to fart badly and it was so bad it was messing up their stomachs which would in turn mess up their chakra flow. Heh. Farts.

"Fire Temple eh? An initiate from there?" Kawa questioned as the old man started to talk. Awfully defensive and quick to give a reason when he hadn't even asked who they were or why they were here.

"That's a shame because the Fire Temple was destroyed by a stupid ass missing ninja a couple of months back. Guy just suicide bombed the place like he was made of stupid. The attack destroyed a large portion of it and because of it, there were to be no new disciples for a year. Y'know, reconstruction purposes. Meaning, I call bullshit." Kawa replied to the man.

"So, why are you really here?" Kawa asked as he looked around, listening to how the wildlife in the area was completely silent. Yeah, these two were dangerous people alright.

'C'mon Shikari, what's different about them already?' Kawa thought as he waited for the fake to reply.

Oh god dammit. Not that Enma would ever let it show now that the game was on, but internally, he was sweating. This kid didn't look very old. One of the newer Jounin? At least he paid more attention to the greater fire country than his 'generation'. Lowering his head again, he made an apologetic gesture. "We were two of the last disciples to be accepted before that madman destroyed our place of worship. Our final rites were delayed because of the reconstruction."

He couldn't believe someone had bombed the fire temple. He was jealous more than anything. It took balls to attack something like that in fire country. He wished that guy was still alive so he can kill him again. "If you don't believe us, you are welcome to follow us back to the temple when we are done with our meditation. The abbot (or w/e) will clear things up." Enma wished he wasn't acting so he could grit his teeth. This was going to boil down into a fight sooner or later. The question was, how soon?

Get what you need, Yaku. Get what you need so I can skullfuck that girl right in front of him.

You never knew what kids were into these days, skullfucking might be one of them.

Anyway, Kawa grinned. The man just talked himself into a hole. "The head? Shame because he was caught in the center of the blast. Killed right out of the gates. It's why construction is taking so long. Their morale is shot to shit because they have no clue how or when a new head will be selected from within the group. It really sucks for you, huh, mister bullshitter?" Kawa laughed.

Kawa focused in more of the man behind 'Junpei' and squinted a bit. Yeah, that was definitely no Fire Monk cloak he was wearing. Plus, he was a big motherfucker too or just really fat. Some Akimichi maybe? Who knew with the cloak on. Didn't matter much either because this in front of him was more of the issue than the one meditating.

"So, once again, why are you really here?" Kawa asked in a polite tone with a nasty grin backing it up.

Enma sighed. Shaking his head, he looked at the Jounin. "Where were you when I was having my fun in the village? Nobody ever asked the right questions." Raising a hand to form a single seal, he smirked within his disguise. "Relax. I'm not going to attack you. Well, not yet, anyway." The hand seal made the disguise melt away. The truth of the matter was bare for the young Konoha Jounin. Enma, in all his glory, was there. "Hi." True to his word, he made no move to attack. Truth be told, he didn't move at all.

It had been a while since he'd been in the middle of a good old fashioned stand-off. Looking past the other man, he tried to get a good look at the girl. Huh. She had...black hair? Lots of people had black hair. But Enma hated what black hair usually meant when it was a Konoha person in situations like this. "You're a tall one too. What hole did Tousha pluck you out of while I was gone? Unf, I was digging in the wrong fields." His voice was higher while he talked to this boy. He knew what he was doing, and hopefully the other Jounin didn't know what he was doing.

"You're astute. If you're as good as you think you are, you'll know me from the pictures. Being Konoha's most wanted has its perks. I'm practically a celebrity~!" And all the while, he avoided answering the actual question. Hopefully the lure of information would keep things from getting out of hand just yet. Gazing down at the boy's body, he kind of did want to see what those muscles could do.

[Mission] Wolves Amongst the Sheep

Post by Yaku Fushinkou » Fri Jul 04, 2014 4:08 am

"Hello Mr. Hyugga leader." Yaku recalled the girls words, remembering a distant memory that wasn't his own. He had killed her and with her knowledge, he would soon murder the Hyugga known as Masuko. The clan leader stood oblivious to it all. Unbeknownst to the fact that his future murderer was 10 or so miles away. He stood in the middle of the compound, most likely instructing other students judging by the pattern of the chakra. If only the elder knew that one of his own students would lead to his downfall. It was all so very tragic.

The Fushinkou delighted himself and proceeded.

He snatched the mans chakra without hesitation, analyzing, studying and observing it up and down. Enma, the two shinobi and the entire Konoha defense system was moot to Yaku at this moment. All that mattered was Hyugga Masuko. In time, Yaku planned to find him, kill him, and take everything he knew. Masuko was the gateway to the faceless shinobi's completion and the completion of the Fushinkou bloodline. The girl and Clan leader were necessary deaths... for the greater good. All in time, it would make sense.

Yaku studied the man he would someday kill.

"Probably still a toddler 'cause hot-damn you look old." Kawa joked about. He didn't really recognize the man but he talked like he should've. Eh, he'd play into it for a bit more. Hopefully Shikari was analyzing the man behind this white-haired bastard. "Pft, Shikari. That little cautionary thing you were feeling? Seems like it was a henge. We might wanna take notes of that feeling next time some guys come creepin' about our forest."

"Tousha? That lazy old bastard? Yeah, no clue. I'll be replacing him soon enough though." Kawa went on, keeping up his grin. "He's strained some relations last I knew because of him being unprofessional when certain people were in town. Figures, eh?"

"Heh, you wish. My turds are more known than you it seems." Kawa laughed off. Yeah, he knew who this guy was. There had been reports coming in recently from Tea country that an old ninja of theirs had been spotted. Enma. Like an enema. Once the reports siting him had come in Kawa had taken to reading up on the missing ninja. Hopefully his skill set hadn't changed too much since he left.

"So, who are you?" Kawa questioned. "'Cause I really wanna know why you're here."

What he said about Tousha made sense. Enma had little to no respect for the reigning Hokage and the meetings with him back in the day made him roooooll his eyes. Smiling despite himself, he was enjoying this. Yaku wouldn't need too much longer now. He just had to make sure the right sequence of events happened when the ball got rolling. The faux, patronizing coos stopped as soon as they began. "No kidding. He's so unprofessional. Did you hear what he did when the future Kazekage was visiting?" Enma shook his head in mock disgust. Nothing about Konoha could disgust him anymore.

What would probably surprise the other shinobi, given that he had read the file, was that Enma's response to being belittled was little more than a slight, angry quiver of the lips. He was so angry on the inside though. But, once again, there was a part to play. This shinobi had to perceived him a certain way. Enma had grown just enough since leaving the village that he had a few surprises up his sleeve. "The name's Enma. I'm just here to catch up on things." They were enemies, but he was carrying on a casual conversation like they were two friends catching up on old times.

"But you've got me at a disadvantage now. What's your name?" There were comments he wanted to make. Cute quips. They fit his character, both the real one and the perception he wanted the Jounin to have of him, but they would be a slip of the tongue. He rarely had two of those in one day. Taking in a nice, deep breath of fresh air, he sighed happily. "The one thing that'll make me sad about burning this forest is how bad the air will smell after I'm done."

"Yeah. Made a joke of himself and the village. How can anybody take us seriously when we got that clown clowning around like he's in a clown house?" Kawa asked with a giggle. Ah, that was stupid as hell but entertaining.

Kawa watched the man's boy language as he mentioned his turds being more in the news than him. The quiver of the lips, the angry look in his eyes like he was a caged wolf ready to pounce on whatever he could. This man was just hatred given form it seemed if Kawa had to compare him to something.

"Kawa. That's all you really need to know of me." He answered the rogue ninja. This mission wasn't very exciting so far even if the tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a kunai. "Eh, doesn't matter if you burn it down or not. We got enough Senju in the village to make Fire country lush even if it was built in Wind country. Plus, I doubt your flames can match up to mine though." Kawa continued on.

Things were finally coming to a head. Closing his eyes and tsk tsk tsking, Enma wagged a finger at the younger man. "Passive-aggression ill suits you Kawa. I've known you for three minutes and I know that." For once, the shorter, older man was quiet for a minute. Both of them knew what was about to happen. They were shinobi. They were warriors. They were born and bred for combat.

But before that, Enma wanted to know one last thing. "Before what happens next, I have a question." Closing his eyes and taking in another deep breath, he found himself relaxed, his body anticipating the pain that was going to come. That was the only result of a strong kid and a mid-range fighter standing face to face.

"You've been a Jounin for how long, exactly? Not long I bet. How many people have you killed, boy? How many times have you walked back into that village, filled with fake, happy people and acted like you were just a normal teenage guy? That village, more than any of the others, is so. Fucking. Fake. Fuck your will of fire." Whatever mask he had been wearing was thrown off now. Before Kawa was a creature of rage, pride, and so many other horrible emotions welling to the surface.

"Eh, maybe if I was a bit more zany it would fit me. Whatever." Kawa continued with a shrug. "You're still avoiding my question and it's starting to bother me. I mean, no more messenger hawks have been sent out so it's not like you're part of a diversion. Just what are you two after?" Kawa asked as Enma went on with his question.

Kawa giggled then broke out in full blown laughter.

"I've been a jounin for a little while. However my first kill was when I was a genin and used a methane explosion to blow up a gladiator in an illegal fight ring. Believe me, I've killed people on almost every mission I've ever been on. It's nothing new to me. My father made sure of that and so did my brother." Kawa continued laughing. "Eh, once? We got drunk after our promotion once with a friend. It was fun. Usually I'm all business. Well, my own brand of business. People can be happy and fake, doesn't matter to me. They're safe and they decided not to let themselves become stronger. Not my loss. I really don't care what you think about the Will of Fire either." Kawa continued on, cracking his neck a bit as he waited for Shikari to give him the signal.

To say he was impressed would be doing the phrase no credit. This kid was interesting. Licking his lips, he tried to picture himself in Kawa's shoes, going through the steps of that first kill. Dark thoughts crept into the edge of his mind. Hundreds of minds were aroused from a sleep as they felt the giddyness in him. The anger was subsiding, but the hatred was still there. "We're just two guys jacking off in the woods. This big beautiful first needs a good burning." He replied glibly.

That last answer actually thrilled him. Kawa had earned a distinct honor in Enma's book reserved for very few people. Enma didn't want to kill him. At least not yet. Not today. The boy had killed young and killed often. He did not deny this. He simply said them as facts. But him not wanting to kill Kawa didn't mean he was going to let him take him back to that boring village. "I can believe you don't. But...just remember one thing." He thought back to what he said to Yaku as they were making their way here. "Beliefs don't mean anything if they're untested, Kawa. And I can say from experience not many people in that utopian hellhole have ever been questioned."

Shikari had been standing at a distance, observing the interaction between Kawa and the man known now as Enma. It was a name she had heard, and not for good reasons. Though he seemed to have taken note of her, Enma seemed to be focused mostly on Kawa and the discussion that the pair were having. It's like they've become eachother's new best friend, she thought to herself. From the moment that Enma had released his henge, before she had even known his name, Shikari began her inspection of him while Kawa distracted him. Narrowing her chakra senses to hone in on Enma, she began to study his specific chakra signature. From the way that it flowed to the subtle fluctuations at different points in his body, Shikari was able to establish a unique chakra signature within the man and imprint it into her mind so as not to forget it at a later date. If, you know, there needed to be a later date.

Broadening her senses once again, Shikari next took note of the man that Enma was with. Though it seemed that the man was meditating, Shikari could tell that there was something more to what he was doing. Though she wasn't advanced enough as a sensor to dissect much information from him, Shikari could tell that the man had strength to him. He was something to be cautious of. Figuring that she had time to do so, Shikari once again narrowed her chakra senses only this time she was focused on Enma's companion. Once again she studied his chakra flow and the various points at which it fluctuated that were unique to him.

Marking it into her mind, Shikari once again broadened her chakra senses and turned her attention back to Kawa and Enma. Though the pair were still talking, Shikari knew that it wasn't going to last for much longer. In moments, Shikari was sure that the scene was going to turn into an all out brawl between them all. Studying her environment, Shikair traced out a path around the tree line that she could use to conceal her actions. Figuring that Enma's focus was on Kawa and not her, Shikari performed a few handseals and flooded her own shadow with chakra, causing it to begin to move amongst the trees. Connecting to the shadow of each tree as it went by, her shadow traveled along the treeline, arching its way around Enma and positioning itself at his back. Waiting for the right moment, Shikari launched her shadow at Enma, aiming for his so as to bind him in place. After that, the next move was Kawa's.

Prerequisite: Zero-In, *[Beyond Senses] or better
Once Shikari has used her sensor abilities to Zero-In on a target, she will use her abilities to memorize or 'imprint' their chakra signature into her memory. By devoting an entire post to the technique, she will focus solely on that chakra signature, studying it and committing it to memory. Once this is done, those who have had their chakra signature 'imprinted' into her memory will 'stand out' amongst the other chakra signatures in the area, allowing her to better keep track of them. If a person were to leave her sensory range and then return sometime later, she would still be able to recognize the chakra signature.

~Shadow Imitation
C-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming the needed hand seals and flooding their shadow with chakra, the user will send their shadow out across a surface toward a target, aiming to connect it to the opponent's shadow. If contact is made, the user and the opponent will be linked together in movement, so that everything the user does is mimicked by the opponent. This technique lasts a number of posts equal to [User's control - Opponents strength]. The shadow moves at a speed equal to the user's control with a maximum of 8 for up to 10 meters without the aid of other shadows. While maintaining this technique, no other ninjutsu may be used.
Note: I used the Imprint jutsu twice because i figured that between the two of them posting multiple times Shikari would have ample time to perform it twice and still have time to set up the shadow bind.

"I'unno Enma, I've waterboarded some bitches and separated from limbs questioning some people that were citizens before. Some of 'em might be." Kawa laughed as he watched the shadow bind take place from the tree.

"Well, it's been fun, Enma, but it's time to let this civil conversation devolve into violence." Kawa commented as he slipped into a stance. He very rarely used this move because of the stress on his body that it generated. He was going to take this man out in one blow whether his companion liked it or not.

Kawa took the first step and leapt forward on his right foot, the tension from his stance all coming together for one massive blow. His body twisted mid air as everything came together for the one move. Kawa's body twisted for the roundhouse kick and landed upon Enma's chest. Kawa felt a rib or two give a little as the force from the kick exploded around the area of impact in a burst of wind. The hit forced Enma from the bind and rocketed him towards a tree. The man's body smashed into the tree and very nearly broke the aging oak in half.

Kawa jumped back from where he landed off his right foot, having to kneel down for a moment to catch his breath as he came to a stop near Shikari.

"So, mind leavin' now? I'd really have to bust your head in some more, Enma." Kawa joked as he heaved a bit and stood back up.

*Violence: Vajra Leaf Whirlwind
A-Rank Taijutsu
Prerequisite: 9 Strength, 9 Speed, Herculean Leaf Whirlwind
Unlike the previous forms of Leaf Whirlwind, this technique flips the principle: "Rather than becoming the leaf in the whirlwind, become the storm that stirs it." Instead of a string of movements, this technique focuses on delivering one single lethal attack. By harnessing all the tension in the user's muscles, the user bounds after the opponent with a kick off a single leg, taking off in a rotation. In the rotation, the user sends the free leg forward in a round-house. The force of the technique explodes on impact, generating a force of wind in the immediate area with a strength of half the user's. The attack aims to incapacitate the target by overwelming them with force greater than their body can handle, nearly lethally injuring a target with 5 or less Strength.

D'aw. Kawa had waterboarded. Enma got kind of nostalgic, thinking back to his Chunin days. It was blissful, thinking about someone's screams as he soaked their lungs with water. Enma almost drooled when he thought about how the victim had begged for mercy. "You're right. It has been fun."

But the real fun started now. His hands rushed together and, suddenly, he lost his ability to move. "Aw damn. She was a Nara." He casually commented as Kawa wound up his Taijutsu attack. "It's been fun- OOF~!" He screamed as the full brunt of Kawa's attack slammed into his body, knocking him back through several trees. The sheer, orgasmic force of the attack broke several of his ribs and the man in black screamed in pain. When he finally landed a few yards in the treeline behind Yaku, his world was spinning and his whole body was in pain.

No one had hit him like that in years. Not even the Samurai who prided themselves on their superior strength. For a moment, all he could do was sit there, the world spinning around him. The pain was sweet but it still hampered his movements. His body recoiled even as his mind drank in the pleasure. Forcing himself to his feet and running back to Yaku. "Get up, Motherfucker. We've got a fight on our hands." Weaving hand seals, he heard Kawa's words as Demise dipped below the treeline, doing a bombing run of Acid at both Shinobi before flying back out of sight.

Slamming his hands to the ground, his connection with his swarm heightened in his mind as hundreds of raging, screaming crows rushed out of the seal faster than most Bannin could run towards Kawa. They weren't meant to kill the Konoha shinobi, the crows themselves finding some measure of confusion at that, but merely distract him and his Nara partner. "Why dontcha make me Kawa!"

Kawa grunted as he pulled himself and Shikari back from the acid bomb running. Ugh. That thing wasn't no pet. It was fuckin' huge for a crow plus it was splitting acid, not fire. This thing was a summon, not a pet. Kawa started to seal himself and grinned as Enma hit the ground with his own jutsu as the small barrier dropped from his hands. The thing hit the ground as the crow swarm was almost upon them, expanding MUCH faster than the crows bum-rush.

The swarm poof'd as did Demise as he ran away from the expanding barrier.

"Is that all you got? I counter summons so easy. There's nothing you can really do to us right now, Enma." Kawa laughed as stared down the other jounin-leveled ninja.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user creates a very small barrier in their hand, then drops the barrier on the ground. The barrier then rapidly expands at a speed of 20, quickly growing to its full size of 300 yards by 300 yards by 300 yards. Whenever the barrier hits any summoned being, that being will be unsummoned, effectively sending it back to wherever it came from. Additionally, as long as the barrier stands, it prevents the use of any summoning jutsu. Aside from banishing summoned beings, this barrier has no other purpose and can barely even be felt by anyone. If the user leaves the area or is knocked out, or after 10 posts pass, the barrier will fade away.

Distractions.

He heard the scream. The pointless banter and Enma's enraged voice. Yaku heard it all, but he didn't care. He didn't respond and he certainly didn't get up immediately. Yaku moved at his own time. His bloodline taught him one thing: the mission was everything. His mind had strayed, glancing one last moment at the vast forest around him. The S-rank missing nin was confident in what he had learned today. This. It was this that he had came for. The rest, Enma included, were all petty distractions to his objective, an objective that exceeded far above their lesser ambitions.

"There's nothing you can really do to us right now, Enma." Kawa laughed. No, but maybe I can. Yaku was Awakened.

With a soft sigh, the S-rank missing nin opened his eyes. It was the first action that the two Konoha Jounin would have ever seen him do. He did not look at them or Enma, he stared straight ahead as if looking at something beyond them all. Slowly rising, the meditation was done. Yaku's movement was unnatural and inhuman for the dangerous environment surrounding him. The slowness wasn't out of some elderly back pain, but perhaps some type of insult, a revelation to the egotistical man before them. Yaku Fushinkou stood up without a concern. He was at full height. His head slowly lulled in their direction. His eyes were half open, unamused and indifferent. Everything else was masked by the cloak.

"You two disinterest me. Go away."

Yaku's eyes revealed a slight bit of humanity, a crooked fake smile. He did not attack or move. In all observation, he was completely stationary and harmless. He wondered what was faster, his kunai or their seals.

Though Shikari had been expecting Kawa to annihilate the missing ninja, she found that his high powered kick was somewhat effective. Watching the missing ninja take such a kick and fly through the air was fairly satisfying. That is, until he got up and his lovely bird friend began spitting acid at them. Before Kawa had even grabbed on to her, Shikari had already begun to move back, avoiding the acid attack. Realizing that she had been so focused on the acid attack that she wasn't paying attention to the shinobi in front of her, Shikari looked up in time to see Enma summon the swarm of crows that came launching at them. Rather than fear the attack, however, Shikari smiled. She knew Kawa, and she knew what he would do next. And moments later, her prediction came true as a fast paced barrier nullified the summoning of the crows and prevented them from being resummoned. He'll have to do better than that, she thought to herself.

With Kawa having foiled the crow attack, Shikari was about to begin a counterattack when Enma's companion stood. Just as she had felt when she was analyzing his chakra signature, there was something about the man that made Shikari cautious of him. Whether it was the way he stood or the way he spoke, there was something that told her that this man had power and that he was not afraid to use it. "And who is it that is commanding us to leave?" She asked aloud. Though she risked being attacked simply for asking his name, identifying him was important to them as well.

Kawa's taunt infuriated Enma. The smirk he saw smugly sitting on the face of the Nara made him want to tear out her birth canal and beat her with it until she was begging for mercy. His hands went together, doing a flurry of seals. He had quite a few other tricks up his sleeves. "I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve and I'm gonna show you every single one of 'em!" He declared as Yaku stood up beside him.

Still weaving the chakra together, he looked up at the taller man and smiled. "Nice of you to rejoin the land of the living, partner." Knowing they wanted to know his identity before the Nara even asked (probably thinking he couldn't hear), Enma wasn't stupid enough to let that information slip. "Wouldn't you want to know?" He hollered at the Nara. This was a crazy jutsu he had in mind. One that would blow 'em away. Looking at the barrier that surrounded them, Enma grinned. There was something for him to improve upon later.

[Mission] Wolves Amongst the Sheep

The halt in fight was the eye of the storm. It was hesitation and reluctance. The two jounin weren't attacking. Whether it was out of fear or curiosity, Yaku couldn't tell. Perhaps they were stalling for time. Many questions presented themselves to the Fushinkou, but one blaring notion was the most apparent to him. This was all one big waste of time. He had what he wanted and he eyed the two shinobi before him as if he was considering their execution. In a matter of seconds, he weighed the value of their life. Mere distractions.

"Do not interfere. It isn’t my desire to kill you.” Yaku spoke, his voice was cold, almost threatening. His cloak swayed in the wind, a stark contrast to the unmoving face of Yaku Fushinkou. Murder brought too much attention. For his purpose and the nature of this mission, more scrutiny was the last thing he wanted. For what he had planned in the coming week ahead, fleeing was the best possible course of action.

"Enma, it's time to go." His words were abrupt and sudden, putting an end to the stalemate. His face never budged. "We're leaving."
