Setsuna carried the unconscious Shin on his back through the forest. He stumbled every so often and each time his resolve to keep moving was tested. The young Gennin was way beyond his limit, but he simply couldn't fail his teammate. The boy had tapped himself out helping Setsuna off of that mountain of a platform and he would do everything in his power to return the favor. Finally his spirits were uplifted as they broke through the tree line and he sighted what he was searching for. A small triage clinic had been set up near the forest to tend to those injured in the attack and Setsuna knew that they could seek solace there. He walked up, his legs holding until he was a few feet away, and then he collapsed. A pair of medical ninja, apprentices by their wardrobe, rushed over and began to tend them. Setsuna wasn't really listening though, his world faded between the extremes of black and white as the combined exhaustion of his body and mind took over. Unaware of the world as he was treated he slipped into a calm and peaceful sleep only perturbed in the slightest when the Medics injected him or reset a bone.

The rugged Jounin was hard at work once again, his skills with IIjutsu were improving at a remarkable rate, owed in no small measure to the Suna medical team that had come to assist Konoha in their time of need. He watched the handful of men and women with determined, studious eyes. While Takeo had a great deal of skill in mending his own wounds and tended to others on the battlefield he had never worked in a hospital or as part of a true medical unit until the aftermath of the invasion. Already he had mastered a great deal of the basics and was working towards one of the more useful and practical skills in a medical ninja’s arsenal; the ability to mend and repair bones. Currently he stood before a young woman whose radius had been fractured when she had tried to break a fall with her forearm. A green glow surrounded the man’s hands as he inspected the damage, identifying the precise location where the fracture was located and confirming that it was in fact only one split.

He then enhanced the intensity of his chakra, focusing and channeling the medical properties into the bone itself. Next came the tricky part, he had to harness the woman’s own self-repair mechanisms in order to mend the bone. He stimulated the area, drawing attention to the injury and recruiting cells from within her own body to congregate at a faster rate. Due to the increased demand her own body began to kick into gear, producing calcium more quickly than it would naturally. Takeo could feel a slight change in her body, there was a slight tingle as he could feel a vague sensation of her molecules arranging themselves and attaching to the bone, growing off of the bone like a fungus and slowly merging together as the two ends met in the middle. This was only the tip of the fracture however and soon the rest began to fill in as well, bonding both sides of the bone together and becoming one. The process had taken the man nearly half a minute, longer than most though he was still a novice in the use of the technique and felt it was more comfortable to err on the side of caution and ensure that he was performing it correctly. After all, over-stimulation of production could cause a deformed or warped bone which would be far more difficult to remedy.

Takeo transitioned again to the medical diagnosis technique, confirming that the bone was in fact mended and was not out of place or mal-formed. He nodded satisfied, “All right ma’am, that should do it but try to take it easy with that arm for the next couple of days” he advised before seeing her on her way. The man took this brief opportunity between patients to take a few sips of water from his canteen. A moment later one of Konoha’s medical Chunin entered the tent carrying a young boy with blonde hair. “Takeo, we’ve got a couple Genin for you, multiple lacerations and fractures on this one and the other has several broken ribs, both have been worked to exhaustion.” He informed before setting Setsuna down on a bed while another medical ninja soon emerged with Shin placing him in one opposite the other boy. The Jounin nodded, dismissing the Chunin to see about their other duties. He would start with Shin first, approaching the boy and prodding his rib-cage with his fingers. The Chunin had set the bones in place and they only required a minor adjustment or two from the jostling of being carried. The Jounins hands glowed green once more and soon the brown haired boy’s ribs began to fuse together once more. It would take some time, he had never mended a full break before though he felt confident that he could do so.

*[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
Although simple to explain, the *[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique] requires both skill and patience in order to mend the fractured or broken bones of patients. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will begin to channel it through the area of the break or fracture. As this chakra makes contact with the bone, it will stimulate the calcium production of the body and begin to mend the bone. To mend small-to-medium breaks, it takes one (1) post of concentration, while fractures are usually very quick to mend. Multiple breaks can be mended during the use of this technique as it lasts for a total of five (5) posts or until canceled. Users should beware that, like other regenerations of this kind, the nutrient stores of the patient's body are being depleted during its use, and too many uses of this technique in a short span of time can cause serious damage.
