Twin Shields

Guard Duty It was a wonderful sunny day with the morning light scattering through the trees that grew in and around Konohagakure no Sato, a truly gorgeous sight for many but alas the young Yamanaka had awoken on this fresh morning knowing he had to pick up details for his next mission and so he did not have the luxury to take in the beauty and the enjoyment of it all.

Naoyukino got up bright and early as he always did when it was a mission day for he had to prepare himself and focus so as not to get himself lost in thought, daydreaming his time away like he may typically do on any given day off for it was quite easy for him to lose himself and just wander and follow people and other such things without paying much mind to where he was even going.

Once the elder teen had showered, dressed and eaten he focused himself in the mirror, gathered his things and said his goodbyes to everyone on his way out even briefly stopping for non-blood related Yamanaka as he made his way out of the compound and into the common areas of the village where he then made haste for the mission assignment building.

After a small trek through winding paths and streets that where just starting to bustle with a few people here and there as they all set out on their way to work or even already working and manning shops and other such places, the focused chuunin stepped before the large red roofed building having left his ditziness behind at home until he returned from his mission.

Nao looked up at the building with a smile spread across his face, his long sandy coloured hair flowing backwards as he momentarily swept it with his right hand in great thought and intrigue for he always wondered about how everything seemed to fit together so well even the idea that missions came from the same building that taught young academy students how to be a professional shinobi.

In any case the cheery male let go and his hair feel back down to his side as he then continued his steps into said building where he found his way up to the waiting room just outside the missions room, once there he would wait his turn to be called in which, unbeknown to him, he would actually be partnered up with someone else who he would later find could also easily be a Yamanka from first glance.

The Day felt nice and warm as the young Hugo walked out of his home. He heard today was mission day he was ready to be assigned. He went back in his house and looked at the time and realized he was gonna be late. He didn't think he was outside that long and realized he had over slept again. It was so embarrassing running into the mission building.

After rushing to put on his forehead protector and Jacket he brushed his teeth and grabbed some food he ran out the door and ate on the way to the building. He was hoping to get their before time to get the mission. Normally if he'd been in an apartment it'd be fine but his house was on the other side of the village.

He was running full speed to get to the mission building he made it to the building before time but had to run inside the building and find the waiting room. He walked around the building trying to find the waiting room but couldn't find anything. He saw a sign that said mission waiting room and started to head over there.

He got to the room and took a seat he remembered that he forgot to do his hair he looked up and it was wild and all over the place he try to make it look better but nothing worked he soon gave up on it after getting it to a reasonable position. He pulled out the food he had and ate even though it was just an apple he was still satisfied after eating it.

When the two young Shinobi arrived to the Mission assignment area they'd be met with a soothing melody unlike any other that had been created to date -- because it hadn't yet. Filled to the brim with emotion and pauses in all the right places in addition to a kind of somber feel that spilled out through fine artistry, it was certainly a display worthy of many-a-oscar and yet... the duo would get the opportunity to listen in for free, without the slightest inclination of payment either. As to what instrument was responsible for such powerful unspoken tale and enigmatic wonder? The answer was not one easily recognized, a first generation violin. Its frame composed of finely trimmed Oak wood from Konoha's very own forests and fitted with a tool that the two ought to have recognized if they'd paid attention in the Academy, threading wire.

The Mahogany colored brass was the first of its kind and it was only fitting that the head of merchant dealings within the land of fire be the one to possess it. When Hibiki Ryo's eyes finally opened to meet the two young men a knowing smile graced his lips followed shortly after by a low almost inaudible whisper that somehow still managed to find a comprehensive range with which to reach the two of them. "I'll call that..the devil's trill sonata. A fitting name, wouldn't you agree?" He didn't wait for an answer, "I know why the two of you are here and let me just say that this job won't be a vanilla cake walk...though, I'm sure you ninja can handle it." It was at that exact moment when he'd concluded that the pause was accentuated by a stroke of his violin via the custom made Mahogany bow. "It's time to see the world, kiddies." Hibiki smirked knowingly but said nothing more, as if waiting for the two to draw their own conclusions on what exactly he meant.

As he waited Nao couldn't help but feel the flow of music through his body making him want to bob his head and hum along, alas he had already steeled himself for the mission and held back from any such nonsense that could easily lead him down to the land of daydreams.

With the strange and new sounding music flowing another, rather dishevelled looking guy arrived and tried to tidy himself up to no avail and at first glance he could be a Yamanaka cousin but the unthoughtfulness would be unforgivable and simply did not match them at all.

After a good moment the pair where called out to and Nao instantly stepped into the room as none other than Hibiki, one of the main officials (focused on trade no less), mentioned the music which did sound every intriguing and interesting though they had no time to comment as the man then went on to mention their mission albeit somewhat vaguely.
"Hmm... Sir? are you saying we are to venture out beyond the village, perhaps even beyond the fire country?" the shorter chuunin questioned inquisitively, wishing to know more about their assignment though he was sure they would be given a scroll with all the required details soon enough.

It made sense actually given Hibiki Ryo's position which probably meant this duo of strangers would be teaming up on some sort of trade mission, hopefully a mission much less crazy than the masquerade he had to go through pretending to be merchants and so forth.

Hugo sat waiting there with his Kunai. He was spinning it around on his finger trying to send how fast he could get it to go. He always liked practicing this since it was something he watched his father do when he was younger. Hugo didn't think of his father as much anymore but he knew not to mourn over someone who doesn't want it.

Just then he was called into the room to be assigned his mission. He flipped the kunai into his back pocket and prepared to relieve his mission. He didn't know what it was going to be way be something easy hopefully. He didn't suspect much to happen to him with this as he was only just a Chunin.

He walked in and saw the man playing music and the person who was gonna be his partner. He listened in on the music he found it to be pretty boring and lame. He kinda just wanted to pull out a Kunai and throw it at the man and get him to stop, but be didn't want to be rude. He did however see his partner seeming to enjoy the music so he knew that he'd have to deal with both of their backlash so he just had to deal with it. The man stopped playing and started talking to Hugo and his partner. He didn't understand what the man was talking about he had been out of the village before and when his partner asked about outside fire country he got really excited because he hadn't been out of fire country since he was on a mission as a Genin with his father. "So what're you waiting for tell us what the mission is" Hugo said impatiently.

Hibiki nodded at the first young man's question as it showed that at the very least, he could think for himself and perhaps problem solve if necessary. Given who Hibiki was and in what field he dabbled in specifically, it should have been easy enough to deduce that the reason behind their visit today had to do with merchants and the business of trade. However, the second young man's impatience detracted from Hibiki's faith and brought about a feeling of displeasure that lasted for as long as he could hold the note played thereafter via his strange looking instrument.

"That's right young'eon, you'll be leaving the safety of Konoha's great walls so be on your best behavior and more importantly, handle this assignment like your lives depend on it." A knowing smirk graced the man's face as though he'd known something that wouldn't be revealed to the two of them and then finally, he concluded with "Pack your things and get on up to the Northern region of the country near the Great divide. There's a small outlier town near there where some Merchants requiring an escort down to Tea country will be waiting for ya', nothing is to happen to either the Merchants or their cargo or your mission will be a bust and then so will your heads. Got it?"

SpoilerShow
Oops I didn't realise it was my turn, I think I mixed things up with my other thread and saw Strat had posted last and was thinking I don't posted after strat.
The somewhat Yamanaka lookalike definitely stopped feeling like a possible Yamanaka when his impatience began to show, seemingly wanting to stop the music playing with his own two hands but nonetheless Nao dismissed any negative thoughts of the man to listen to what their elder had to say.

"Yes sir" the actual Yamanka replied with a great tone of respect, bowing as he answered and thought of what troubles could arise.
"We'll do our best to ensure the safety and well being of those we protect and make sure their goods arrive at their destination in one piece" he spoke confidently, raising his head with a positive smile though his eyebrow raised somewhat inquisitively as he took in Hibiki's own smile that was surely in all actuality a smirk.

The orangely dressed chuunin couldn't help but feel there may be a bit more than they where being told but then perhaps that was for the best, which in that case they would have to simply remain extra vigilant and ready for any kind of possibility, though he did hope it was not like the surprise of a mission he had before.
