Training in the forest part 2

Post by Kaitos10 » Tue Mar 01, 2022 8:06 pm

She had just become a chunin recently so was pretty excited but she still had a long way to go before reaching jounin maybe even higher. So she decided to start doing some training while she was motivated. So she quickly got everything ready especially her training weights and attached heavy weights to her ankles and thighs to help train while she ran. But she hid them under clothing to make it incredibly difficult to notice them. She then began to sprint to the forest, on her way there she would look at all the different sights and see who was around doing what.

She couldn’t help it her natural curiosity was to high sometimes even to high for her own good. She would keep running until she finally reached the forest when she got there she would quickly start doing all sorts of exercises to hopefully help increase her speed. She wanted to get as fast as possible so that she didn’t have to worry about loosing to someone because she wasn’t fast enough again. So she kept going unaware if anyone else was in the area. Though as her mind wandered while she exercised she did notice other details about the forest she was in. Like how there was mostly dense oak trees and lots of bushes around here.

She thankfully was still inside konoha territory so she hopefully didn’t have to worry about any enemies ambushing her while she trained but as unlikely as it was it was still a sad possibility. What’s worse at her current level anyone capable of doing so would most likely be far beyond her ability to handle. She just had to hope that also meant that she wouldn’t be worth attacking. She then tried to get her mind off that depressing topic and think of what she would do next after training her speed. Would she train her chakra next? Or her chakra control? Both would be very valuable. Plus if she could get them high enough maybe she could use it to just boost her speed and strength instead. It was definitely a interesting concept worth thinking about.

Training in the forest part 2

Takeshi decided to train just outside the village, within the massive forest the Konohagkure was hidden within. Of course, there were many clearings and even some paths and trails, though largely one’s used by animals. Caravans never came through here, always stopping at the large trading village just outside the forest and having goods retrieved by shinobi using storage seals. After two separate attacks on the village in the last 15 years and a number of other threats it was natural security would be rather tight. In fact, in order to even get permission to train outside the village Takeshi was under watch by one of his ANBU superiors who kept themselves hidden just in case the young Hyuuga was threatened by anyone. After all he was the son of the Hokage as well as a Bannin f the Hyuuga clan.

But Takeshi was not a prodigy by any means. He worked extremely hard for every bit of his skill and conditioning. Today, he was hoping to improve his strength. Being an archer primarily, naturally the best way to do this was by using a ‘heavier’ boy. Where normally he utilized a Hankyuu, meaning a half size bow approximately 4ft long, today he carried a full size traditional bow, standing 6..5 feet in length and requiring significantly more draw strength to utilize. He had brought a few extra training arrows as well though they didn’t contain a proper piercing tip but instead a rubber end. This way they would be less likely to destroy the arrows and be easier to retrieve for extended training sessions.

The young Hyuuga kept his training arrows on his hip as was more traditional and his proper sharp arrows he left in a separate holster leaning against a nearby tree. Getting the form down was just as important as actually gaining strength, as he had to ensure he was activating the proper muscle groups in order to train efficiently. So he would notch an arrow, take a firm stance with his legs and puff his chest out, arching his back appropriately as he slowly raised the bow and began drawing back in one smooth motion. As he drew, he sighted in his target, the ring of a kunai that he had stuck vertically into a tree branch. He had done the same with 5 separate targets all around him. Making sure to stab the Kunai deep so it was unlikely his shot would dislodge them even if he hit them directly.

Then, the moment he reached full draw and leveled his bow to his eyeline he would fire. His first shot hit the top edge of the kunai’s ring. Not quite a bullseye but from a distance of 15 meters it was still quite acceptable. This was his most effective range after all. Though he was certain he could do better .If it was with his half bow he would have sent the arrow straight through the ring of the kunai. But the strain of the full bow was certainly difficult to get used to. It was practically a fluke he had even been that close. His form and technique were good at least, though he was sure it would get harder with each repetition as his muscles became more strained and fatigued.

Another shot, pulling back again with good form as he pivoted and had to make a quick sighting in of his target and at a steeper angle. Of course this first attempt he would miss completely by a degree of about 2 inches. Still enough that if it were a human target it would have been a kill shot if he had aimed for the lungs but he still expected better of himself. After all he was an initiate into ROOT and the son of two S-ranked shinobi. Youth or not he wouldn’t let his age be any excuse, some shinobi could even reach Jounin by the age of 13. And after witnessing the participants in the Aroma country Chunin exams Takeshi knew he could do better.

His Byakugan activated this time, honing in on the third target before he turned, and then drawing and loosing without needing to aim so last second. Of course he was well used to using his Byakugan in such a way and was able to strike the target straight through the ring this time. His arms were already beginning to ache and he wondered how many shots he could manage before he needed a break. However, as his Byakugan was still active, he noticed something else that caught his attention. A chakra signature coming at him at quite impressive speeds. Only as the figure approached closer did he recognize the girl as being someone from the Chunin exams. He hadn’t recalled her being quite so fast though, at the rate she was going he figured she was at least as fast as his older brother Yozei and he had been a Special Jounin before recently departing to the Dragon’s Breath region of Fire country. “Hey, are you looking for a training partner?” he wondered, holding another arrow in one hand and the bow in the other. “I could fire some arrows at you if you want to try dodging them” he suggested. “They’re rubber-tipped” he explained, tapping it against his arm for emphasis.

Training in the forest part 2

Haruka kept training lost in her thoughts and after much thinking of how it would work boosting her speed through jutsu she eventually realized it would be better to just increase her speed a old fashioned way. So she doubled down on her training, first she did 100 squats being careful in the up and down motions to get the most out of the work out, as well as doing a few acrobatics such as jumping and comparing the height she jumps against the trees. Her goal was to be able to at least jump to one of the upper branches with the weights on. She kept jumping and jumping but sadly she couldn’t do it. After multiple successive attempts the highest she could reach was 10 feet off the ground. Which was pretty disappointing though she figured she would need to try again later.

So she decided to rest for a bit and relax, she decided to take out her ear plugs and listen in to her surroundings. Listening to the birds chirping in the forest and the deers eating as well as various other animal noises. She even heard the noises of caravans traveling in the distance the squeak of the wheels and the grinding noise as they moved along the dirt. Though as she was relaxing she heard something odd and out of place it seemed like the sound of a bow being fired. The odd thing was the noise it gave off upon the arrows impact. It wasn’t the usual sound of metal impacting flesh so it couldn’t be someone out hunting. She then thought on it for a bit before then considering the possibility of someone training. It wasn’t the sound of metal hitting wood either so it was clear they weren’t using normal arrows.

So what was that sound? She kept wondering for a bit before she went back to training some more. Though as she kept training she couldn’t get that thought out of her head. Her natural curiosity was starting to get the better of her and she really wanted to know what was happening. Eventually after awhile of training alone the curiousity compelled her to check out what was making that noise. So she ran over at her current top speed which was around 18 speed because of the leg weights slowing her down. To see a man with a bow and arrow it seemed to be one of the Hokage’s children. She would look on curiously at him for a bit before switching to the bow and the surroundings. When she heard what he said next she looked on shocked and said “so that’s what I was hearing?! It all makes sense now!” She then sighed with relief a bit relaxing as her curiosity was finally sated. She then remembered the rest of what he said and thought for a minute before saying “also sure I would be happy to train with you. It seems like a interesting idea for training.”

Training in the forest part 2

Takeshi noticed the young woman’s unique ears and tail and she approached closer. He hadn’t met anyone other than his ‘Aunt’ Masami who had animal traits, though hers were more dog-like, fitting for the Inuzuka family but actually a tragic story of experimentation and kidnapping. For a moment he wondered what this girl’s story was. Certainly, there wasn’t any clan in Konoha that had cat-traits. And her could discern from her chakra flow that they weren’t simply decorative. Though as the girl spoke, he deactivated his Byakugan, it wasn’t the most welcoming sight when making introductions after all. He noted her choice of words, indicating that she had sharp senses, specifically hearing and was often discerning of her surroundings.

She seemed to be a competent shinobi. A chunin, if he recalled correctly, after seeing her participate in the Aroma country exams. He had been too fresh out of the academy back then, not confident enough in his ability. But he had trained diligently since then, inspired by the many strong competitors and now he was confident he would be able to hold up against even the strongest from back then. But he was sure the others had been training diligently as well, the gap was likely not fully closed. And he was curious how strong the girl was now.

He bowed slightly as she accepted his offer to train. “Excellent. My name is Hyuuga Takeshi, by the way” he introduced as was polite. Once she introduced herself as well he would draw back one of the rubber tipped arrows. Normally when practicing archery one timed their sights and their draw to release only a moment after reaching full pull. If one could hold the arrow drawn back for an extended amount of time it likely meant they were using a bow that had far too low of a draw weight. Alternatively, it was poor practice simply because of the strain it put on one’s muscles when firing many arrows, leading to fatigue far faster than was ideal. However, in this case reaching fatigue and straining his muscles was the objective. If he could become accustomed to the bow and hold it for a long time then he could move up to a larger bow or handle something more sturdy.

Holding the bow at a 45 degree angle upward, he drew an arrow slowly, feeling along the raven feather fletching. His fingers knuckled settled just above the tab, notching the arrow on his bowstring as he sighted in his target. The young woman was 12 meters away from him, a comfortable distance for an archer. At this range there was no way he would miss if she didn’t evade it. Drawing the arrow back as he extended his left arm and slowly lowered the bow he mentally imagined where he would ordinarily release, just as the arrow’s projected trajectory was aimed at the woman’s chest. Though instead he held it there for a few moments, feeling the familiar tightness of his biceps, shoulders and back muscles. Even his core was engaged as he kept a strong, upright posture, shoulders back as his thumb just barely brushed against his cheek. Every archer had their specific ready signal and position, drawing their arrow back to the exact same spot every time to ensure perfect muscle memory and ideal accuracy.

He was confident the woman would be able to evade, but nonetheless he would confirm that she was prepared, “Alright, let’s begin!” he announced, a moment before releasing his first arrow, flying at the girl with 17 Strength and Speed. With the rubber tip however, even if it did graze her it would only cause a bruise at worst. Though he was sure a single arrow was far too easy to train against and therefore he wasted no time in drawing another, this time firing it immediately, aiming to track the woman as she moved and anticipate her path so she would be forced to change direction away from her initial dodge, less be hit. His third attack would involve two arrows fired as once. He would aim about a foot behind her so if she turned she would also be struck, firing one arrow hiding in the shadow of the other and dropping about a foot below and behind it. He wondered if she would be able to see through the technique. Firing the total of four arrows in rapid succession was already putting some strain on his muscles, he could feel that he was properly warmed up already from his earlier training and now his arms and back would get stronger the more he pushed himself to keep up his attacks, either without rest or drawing the bow long enough to get a steady burn against his muscles and keep him engaged.

Haruka looked on curiously she was surprised he was so polite and well mannered. Maybe it was because she was higher ranked? It was hard to say and she didn’t want to get distracted or side tracked now so she shelved that tangent for later. She noticed he had very good form and decent muscles when he got ready to shoot the bow. Even without having much experience with the bow it was obvious how much effort he put into it. She then takes out a kunai and gets ready as she watches his body go through the motions. Readying her kunai she watches as the bow string Twangs and hears the swoosh sound as the arrow races through the air. She tries to block it but moves to fast for her own good making one quick swipe (speed 33) clearly whiffing then another strike at the same speed this time swatting the arrow out of the air with her kunai.

She then looks on disappointed going “oops swung to early on that one seem to have trouble on the timing and aim on blocking ranged projectiles. But ready when you are for the next try.” She then gets ready waiting for him to get into position. Trying to focus and think of how she can get better at blocking these arrows. Going over different solutions in her head. She continues to wait as she watches to see when he’s going to fire next. Good thing she was practicing this now instead of with actual blades

Takeshi watched with amazement at the young woman’s speed, easily able to evade his first arrow, moving her body out of the way of its trajectory and seeming to make a swipe at the arrow but missing the timing. Honestly her motions were a blur to him but seeing the way her chakra moved help him track her. “Your speed is incredible, senpai” he said to the Chunin who he was sure was at least a few years older than him, possibly as many as 5 years older. Though he wasn’t particularly familiar with the woman and couldn’t quite recall her name. It was somewhat rude that she hadn’t introduced herself but she seemed an energetic and easily distracted sort, so it was forgivable that she was simply caught up in the moment. As polite as he tried to be for the sake of making a good impression on the Hyuuga clan, Takeshi was raised by a mother that was notoriously direct and occasionally crass. He put up a formal front but internally he enjoyed seeing people that could express themselves freely and didn’t fall in line with normal social conventions.

He noted her catch the second arrow, though he still had many tricks up his sleeve. The young Hyuuga would continue utilizing proper form and his full draw strength in order to ensure the projectiles came in as their maximum speed and power. It was the least he could do to attempt to challenge someone who was so fast. His next arrows were fired at the same time, one hidden below and slightly behind the other, obscured within its shadow essentially. If she caught the first one as she had been practicing the second would hit her in the stomach with enough force to wind her at least, aiming to hit her directly in the solar plexus while the first arrow that she would likely be able to catch would be aimed at throat height. The thirteen-year-old Genin kept a stoic expression as to not give away the trick behind this attempt and even as he drew the pair of arrows he held them together and attempted to conceal one behind the other.

Furthermore, he would attempt to distract her focus as the arrows loosed from his bow. “You’re a close ranged fighter right? Or were you more of a trap setter? I think I remember seeing you fight in Aroma country” he inquired as she reacted to his arrows. “Feel free to counter attack a little to keep me on my toes if you get bored of just dodging” he said with a light chuckle, though it was clear he wasn’t going too hard and wasn’t treating this like a proper fight just yet. Simply remaining in the same place and slowly drawing back another arrow, though this time he channeled chakra into it and when he released it, aiming for her chest, he would anticipate her grab and the arrow would change its angle, curving downward in an attempt to hit her in the stomach just like he had attempted with his hidden arrow. It seemed one of the safest places to target after all, especially with a rubber tip it wasn’t likely to cause any real damage and only take the air out of her a little and be somewhat painful.
Jutsu UsedShow
*[Flawless Aim Style • Hidden Shot]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By launching two projectiles, one immediately after the other, the practitioner attempts to create a decoy for the second. The first projectile is often larger or of equal size, and the second projectile is slightly behind and below it, the second projectile hiding in the first projectile's shadow. This masks the second projectile and makes it more difficult for the opponent to completely avoid. Opponents with a Perception technique equal or higher in rank may be able to see both projectiles clearly within a reasonable distance, though they'll still have to properly defend against it.

*Fuuton • Redirection
D-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After performing the needed hand seals, the user covers a projectile they are holding in fuuton empowered wind. Then, when the weapon has been thrown as normal, the user is able to change it's direction by up to 90 degrees once with no drop in momentum on the projectiles part. This technique only lasts one post.

Haruka hadn’t ever been that good at taking compliments well. So when her speed was complimented she would start to blush and avert her face saying in a slightly shy tone “Thanks ……. I have been working hard on it ever since the chunin exams.” She then shyly fidgeted some more wondering what to do or what to say. She wondered what it was about people complimenting her that made her feel this way. Especially to the point she couldn’t even act normal afterwards, she knew it was normal to feel happy or excited. But otherwise what was it that made it so damn hard she couldn’t even talk like normal and had a hard time thinking of what to say.

Suddenly as she was fidgeting and lost in her thoughts she heard the sound of a arrow being notched and the bow being drawn. Which was a clear indication that he was getting ready to fire again. She then snapped out of it and saw him aiming at her again so she got ready. Trying to concentrate on doing better this time. She then watched as he was seconds or less from firing. Though he soon pulled a dirty trick. Clearly he figured out What lots of people already knew. Which was that she was easily distracted, right as he fired he asked a interesting question. Which distracted her causing her to loose her focus and reply saying “well a bit half and half I-…..” She was then cut off as she noticed the arrow heading for her throat literally at the last second.

She quickly tilted her head moving her neck out of the way quite fast as the arrow wizzed by. Though the arrow in the stomach still hit causing her to let out a “oooofffff” sound. She then took a deep breath and then glared at him angrily that she was tricked. She then thought to herself {well if that’s how you want to play then I guess I’ll play also} she then started to wait until he was ready to fire again. This time she was determined to not fall for the same trick again. She kept repeating in her head {ignore him stay focused} she then watched and waited for him to fire then got ready and a the last second when he was releasing his hand to fire she blitzed through hand seals in a blur causing what looks like a clay raven to fly towards him at control speed 34 and activate exploding in a pop like a flash bang and emitting a very bright light capable of blinding most normal people.

Though she wondered if people with enhanced vision like the byakugon were more susceptible to visual stimuli like flash bangs? Would it Just effect them like it would a normal person? Or would it have a extra effect?

Training in the forest part 2

Post by Izanagi » Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:55 am

Takeshi’s plan of distracting the young woman seemed to be working, his powerful muscles stretched and tensed, priming into perfect positioning as he steadily found the consistent slow drawing was doing well to hone his already impressive physique. Though looking the woman over more thoroughly it was evident she was quite muscular, especially for a woman, her shinobi training was quite evident, though she still managed to retain some feminine features, especially in her friendly and almost bubbly personality. He couldn’t quite place it, but he was starting to enjoy her company already and certainly was intrigued by the rather unique woman. Mentally she might have been a bit of an air head but she was clearly a hard worker who took her training very seriously, it was a rare combination of traits that he hadn’t encountered in anyone until now.

He smiled softly, despite his active Byakugan which was normally rather threatening he gave off a kind and relaxed aura. As his arrow was loosed his felt his muscles relax, giving him a momentary respite. While his cardio and physical conditioning was not very good compared to his raw strength, fortunately, archery was something that relied heavily on technique and raw strength and was not very tiring on the rest of his body. He could keep it up for quite a few hours, though of course he would run out of arrows long before then. He only had 8 more left of the rubber tipped ones before he would have to retrieve some of them or switch to another method of training. The more he got familiar with her abilities the better he would gauge how well they could properly spar without one or the other getting seriously injured. As a taijutsu practitioner himself he was curious if she was physically stronger than him or not, initially she seemed to be very much a speed-oriented fighter but getting a closer look at her physique and it was clear she was quite strong as well. Perhaps she would be able to overwhelm him in close quarters after all, though the technique and precision of Jyuuken was not to be taken lightly.

His distraction tactics one again got her flustered and his hidden arrow was able to strike her in the stomach. Takeshi smirked slightly, finding a small degree of amusement and satisfaction in tricking her. Though he chuckled lightly and smiled innocently, holding up his free hand before he reached for another arrow. “Sorry, had to try it” he explained. Though it was clear as he notched another arrow that he wasn’t about to let up on her just from one hit to the stomach. The next arrow would have his Fuuton coating to contend with. Able to move the arrow with just as much speed as what he was able to release from his strength.

93+476= 569 /550 Strength Training

Though he was quite curious and surprised as she formed a set of handseals in response to his arrow instead of trying to move or block. This arrow would therefore hit her in the stomach as well, a little bit lower than the first. He could see the flow of her chakra and realized it was a technique that had a fair bit of chakra poured into it. And as the clay raven began to manifest he flowed chakra throughout his own body, holstering her bow and moving into a lower stance as he swiftly began to spin, emitting chakra from each of his many tenketsu points to create a spiralling orb of chakra around him. The raven would collide but not have any impact force which was rather odd but what it did do was explode in a bright light, still not emitting any force.

Unfortunately for Takeshi he was so accustomed to using his Byakugan even when defending that he hadn’t thought to consider such an attack could be blinding. And yet, while his Byakugan was active he saw chakra more clearly than light sources, so while it did affect him and cause his eyes to be overstimulated, even through his protective sphere of chakra, it wasn’t quite debilitating. Though it did make it difficult to focus and caused him to deactivate the Byakugan to rest his eyes, even going as far as to close his normal eyes for a few moments as he continued to spin and push the chakra shell around him further out, enough that it would send her flying back if she didn’t move quickly as it expanded from a 5-meter diameter around him to 10 meters as he continued to pour more chakra into the technique and maintain it, aiming to push her back with a 20 Strength but only 10 Speed sphere of chakra that swirled around him, even knocking down and uprooting some of the closer trees. If she could take the hits from his arrows then surely this technique wouldn’t hurt her too badly, though given her speed she could easily evade, it was more a test of his own chakra control to expand the technique beyond the comfortable range he was used to.

He hoped she didn’t think he was getting too serious but it was clear they were both ready to step up the training session a little and engage in a proper spar now. He was curious to see how strong she truly was and if she could defeat him. Despite being a Genin he had received elite training from his parents and from the ROOT trainee program within Anbu and he was sure he had already become as strong as many Chunin and with his combat experience he could likely hold his own against her. “Let’s see what you can really do, Haruka Senpai” he called out as he continued to maintain the sphere of chakra, hoping to see if she had any techniques powerful enough to break through it. Even if she hit him with a strong explosive technique, it was likely his defense would soften the explosion enough that he wouldn’t be harmed much if at all. He wondered if the young woman had ever fought a Hyuuga and their simple but effective style before. It seemed those who used raw chakra was relatively rare compared to those who preferred the flashier elemental styles.

Haruka would get hit again by a arrow though hopefully her opponent would be worse off. Sadly it was hard to tell because he was suddenly in cased in a chakra shell and watch as he manages to spin in time to possibly block some of her blast. Causing a shell of chakra to start to approach her. She was starting too loose her temper saying “take this!” In a annoyed tone she did some hand signs at the first sign of it approaching her.

(478+85=563 550/550 13/550) (training endurance )

Then raised up her foot and slammed it into it with full force (20 strength) litterally holding back the dome with brute force. When suddenly her jutsu goes off causing a explosion from the point of impact to go off further increasing the damage. (29 strength 5 speed) It would also spray shards of shrapnel everywhere, effectively shattering the incoming chakra dome.

As well as possibly injuring her training partner. As she waited for the dust from the impact plus the explosion to clear she watches on curiously to see what the results were. But as she listens carefully for any signs of movement, she suddenly gets a idea and wonders if she should prepare a surprise for him. She then quickly uses reverberating raven jutsu almost immediately after most likely shattering the chakra shell he created and would use it to create two more clay ravens that would hide behind her and fly at him if he tried to attack from behind. Because of the jutsu she was using to appear 4ft tall she was currently covered in a chakra shell. She wondered if he would be able to see through that to see the ravens as well?

As she continued to listen for signs of movement, considering the explosion was only slightly stronger then the dome she doubted she hurt her opponent that badly if at all really. But she guessed there was always the chance of something going wrong. Plus she was never good at holding back, she then started to wonder nervously what would happen if she did accidentally injure him. Though she quickly shook her head to try and get those thoughts out of her head. Besides a near death experience would only help him grow right? Plus if it did do serious damage she could always get him healed and then when he recovered he would notice the power gap and just train harder right? She was totally just helping mentor a new genin and did nothing wrong.

She then nodded twice to herself convincing herself everything was ok. Then calmed down and waited to see what happened as the dust would clear. Hopefully he wouldn’t just get angry and go home after this. As she went to check the time to make sure she wouldn’t be late for work. She definitely didn’t want to get in trouble there. Her boss really didn’t like it when she was late and it was always annoying and stressful when she started yelling at her. Plus sometimes she would even get punished which was another thing she would personally prefer to avoid.

She then started to shudder as she thought of all the unusual punishments she would have to go through. From cleaning special toilet duty to having to work extra shifts until she was exhausted. Amongst many other things, she would then try to calm herself down as she tried to think of ways to make sure she could avoid that. She would then try to think how long it would take to run back to her house get changed and then run to her job. She wanted to make sure she would have plenty of time to get there so she wouldn’t get in trouble.

Reverberating ravens
C-rank Nendo Ninjutsu
The user will perform a series of handseals, creating two raven sized bombs of clay from the ground or an existing source of clay. Once created they function as a construct and are capable of moving on their own. They can move up to 25m away from the user. Upon reaching the opponent or when the user performs the [Kai] technique, the ravens will explode outward. Unlikely typical bombs, these birds are tightly packed, the explosive energy causing the clay to rapidly heat and then cool. This process - upon exploding - causes the clay to produce a bright light similar to a flash bomb, that causes 2 posts of blindness and distorted vision for anyone looking directly at it. The passive nature of Clay jutsu does not activate in this technique.

Landmine stomp
D rank nendo Ninjutsu
After the user finishes channeling chakra for this jutsu It lets the user focus pure nendo chakra into the feet that activate when coming in contact with a solid surface. On contact with the solid surface the chakra causes an explosion to occur in any one direction the user wants; this happens in a wide cone. The explosion's power is tied to control strength and activates control speed as well as 10 meter cone plus the standard increase with rank the cone is 10 meters wide and 10 meters long in the direction she chooses.

Training in the forest part 2

Haruka’s foot collided with the expanding dome, equal forces meeting one another. Takeshi was somewhat surprised the young woman wasn’t sent hurtling backwards, despite her small and lean stature it seemed she was remarkably strong. Though he had noticed something peculiar about her, there was a veil of chakra around the girl, similar to a transformation technique but normally such things were dispersed with a single strike and yet he hadn’t noticed any change after his arrows had struck her. Still, he was quite curious what was really going on with her body. But he didn’t have much time to think about that in any length, as it seemed the kick wasn’t Haruka’s only attack.

Suddenly an explosion rocked through the dome, overwhelming it. While the twisting chakra did manage to mitigate most of the damage there was still quite a bit of shrapnel that managed to get through, though only with a strength of 9. Still, Takeshi had no way of knowing how dangerous the shrapnel was and had only an instant to react. As his spinning slowed, he raised his arms up, protecting his eyes as he flowed chakra into his hands and covered his face. His palms turned outward, the shrapnel bounced off his hands, disrupting the chakra within them, but his body took quite a pelting. His ears rung from the sound of the explosion, and he could feel blood trickling down his exposed arms and even some parts of his legs were bleeding from bits of shrapnel that tore through his clothing. Most of the rest of him would be pelted with various small bruises that would begin to form.

Fortunately, his rotation jutsu had been strong enough to slow the shrapnel down. If he had taken the full brunt of the attack without any of his chakra to disrupt it he might have sustained potentially lethal injuries, or at least serious enough to take him out of the fight and need immediate medical assistance. Continuing to flow chakra into his palms he prepared to disrupt any other ninjutsu he might be confronted by. As the dust began to settle, Takeshi continued to stand in the middle of where their techniques had created a small crater, a circular area of blackened dirt. If this had been a proper fight to the death he surely would have forced himself to move and make a counter attack but it was simply a spar and he didn’t want to escalate anything to the point where either of them would be seriously injured. “I suppose I did ask for that” he groaned, twisting his body here and there as he stretched and brushed off some of the debris before inspecting a few of his wounds. “That’s a powerful technique, though I admit I am curious about the chakra surrounding you” he considered, moving back into a Jyuuken stance to show that he was ready to continue the spar if she was up for it.

Jyuuken :: Palm Strike of Divination
D-rank Nintaijutsu Maneuver
After channelling chakra into their palm, the user will directly strike a chakra based technique. As long as the users [Control] is equal or greater than the Strength of the technique they will be able to strike through the jutsu, displacing it around them if it is larger than their hand or scattering the chakra entirely if it is of comparable size. Their hand with be protected from any elemental effects or passives though the rest of the user’s body remains vulnerable.
Slipping his hand into his kunai holster he retrieved four shuriken, grabbing them in such a way to hide their number from her before slipping two of them into his other hand. Crouching he tossed them simultaneously, crossing his arms over one another as the shuriken launched. There would be two shuriken coming toward Haruka from either side, they would each sweep low moving around her to the outside. The shuriken were staggered so that the shuriken in each pair were about a foot apart, and the set to Haruka’s right were incoming slightly faster than the one’s from her left. But then the one’s from her left side would begin to rise up, moving from an ankle height on a 45 degree angle up toward her chest while the one’s that were slightly closer on her right side would begin to raise up a moment after the other set, only changing to a 30 degree angle and moving to aim toward her stomach.

If she was willing to use explosive shrapnel against him that cut and bruised him he figured he didn’t have to use rubber tipped weapons any longer. Though properly tipped arrows were still quite dangerous and could easily be lethal. Shuriken on the other hand, unless there were poisoned typically only left relatively shallow and minor injuries. The blades after all were only about an inch and a half long after all so the potential damage was limited. The shuriken would each move with 15 Speed and Strength. Given her strength that she displayed he was certain they would only cause some fairly minor cuts if any of them struck her. This would be good practice for him to hone his shuriken skills and not just his archery techniques. As a long range fighter, it was important to have a variety of different tools to attack with. He even hoped to train with some larger types of shuriken and explore different types of mechanics and maybe even techniques that involved attaching wires. Though, he also had to be careful not to carry too much around with him either. Perhaps he would need Fuuinjutsu storage seals like his ROOT partner, Ibakuro Aiya. Those were all things to consider as he continued to hone his projectile skills and add more tools to his repertoire.

For now, he was curious to learn what he needed to work on more and how the woman would react to the projectiles. She had already shown some talent in catching and evading his arrows so he wasn’t too worried about her being unable to stop them. And he did already have ideas and techniques to make grabbing and dodging more difficult and dangerous, but he didn’t want to use too much chakra or fight too hard against this girl. Though given the mysterious chakra shell around her that only a sensor or Byakguan user would be able to discern, he wondered if perhaps she was holding back as well. She was a Chunin after all and she had displayed that she was at least as physically strong as him and also capable of releasing powerful ninjutsu attacks that could overwhelm his defenses. In some ways it seemed they were actually rather similar in fighting styles and attributes, though he was more inclined to precision and finesse whereas Haruka seemed more prone to explosions and traps meant for a larger area of effect. And there was the key difference of her being undeniably faster than him, that factor alone making her a much more troublesome close-range fighter.

After she saw that the wounds caused where mostly superficial she was pretty relieved. She then hears Takeshi and snickers a bit saying “yes, yes you did.” Afterwards she hears the rest of his comments and smiles saying in a happy playful tone “thanks, as for the chakra it’s a secret, though I may be willing to part with some info about it. “ She wondered what sort of game they could play while training, guessing games were a strong contender but she didn’t want to gravitate to them to much.

She thought of some sort of game revolving around if he could hit her, but they were already training that way. Plus he would most likely just use tricks to hit her by distracting her like before or other methods, which didn’t seem very fun. So the question became what else was there that they could do? After thinking for a short time she got bored of trying to think of what to do plus it seemed her training partner was ready to continue and was getting ready to make his move.

She figured she shouldn’t use anything to damaging like exploding kunai, so that limited a lot of options and ninjutsu, but she figured her opponent was in the same boat as her. So as his hands were in the pouch she started to oddly enough start dancing. Though she made sure to keep a close eye on the incoming projectiles. When they got with in range she would quickly slap them out of the air. Watching carefully for any sneak attacks. That couldn’t be all there was to his attack could it, considering how easy that was she proceeded to keep watch in case she was right.

Several seconds maybe a minute later she would then say while still dancing, “I just got a idea, how about we play a guessing game if you guess right What the chakra is being used for I’ll tell you.” She would then wait to see what he would say or do next, she figured she could just wait for now. After all why go on the offensive right away? It was supposed to be training so attacking wouldn’t be as beneficial as bombarding her opponent with attacks.

Only question remained how long would she be waiting before she makes her next move. Thankfully she could at least enjoy dancing while she waited and if it confused her opponent like usual all the better for her

Training in the forest part 2

Takeshi was rather curious about the chakra shell around Haruka. Clearly, he still had more work to do with his Byakugan to properly be able to differentiate between different types of jutsu. If he took a more in depth look he likely would have been able to figure it out. Alas, a slight headache began to form and he could feel his eyes straining. He knew he needed to rest his eyes for a few minutes. The Byakugan deactivated, giving him some time to think without relying on his doujutsu. “Interesting, I wonder what secrets you’re hiding” he considered.

As expected, his shuriken were easy enough for her to deflect. He simply wanted to keep her preoccupied, knowing that he would be needing to rest his Byakguan which limited his options in close quarters somewhat. He nodded as she challenged him to a guessing game, even as he began forming handseals for a new technique that he wanted to try. He had been experimenting recently with various supplementary applications of Fuuton that didn’t incorporate the cutting properties it usually held. He still wasn’t sure how useful such techniques would be, certainly only for situations where he didn’t intend to kill his target or perhaps even for helping his allies out of dangerous situations or otherwise manipulating the environment around him with bursts of wind. In this case, he considered the advantage of being able to force people into the sky. His chakra gathered, and wisps of wind began to manifest all around both of them, covering a 30-meter diameter. Then, violently the wind propelled them both into the sky. “An armor maybe? Or some kind of counterattack when someone gets close to you?” he shouted out over the roaring winds. There were so many possibilities of what types of chakra one could shroud themselves in.

Fuuton • Lift
C-Ranked Fuuton Jutsu
After forming a set of hand seals the user will focus his chakra into an area within 30 meters of himself. Activating this supplementary technique will cause winds to rise up from the selected location, covering an area of up to 30x30x30 meters in [22] Strength and [22] Speed winds. These winds contain no cutting properties but can still be quite dangerous and difficult to traverse through, sending anything soaring high into the sky unless they are anchored with a Strength greater than the technique. The winds can persist for up to 4 posts.
Being propelled high into the sky, Takeshi wondered if the cat-girl would feel out of her element. Of course, he could easily perform additional techniques to ensure her from falling and hurting herself, but something told him she would manage just fine. And besides, the winds would persist for a while so as long as she stayed above the technique she would continue to be lifted into the air, though moving about of her own accord would be next to impossible without some kind of footing or means to fly. When he reached the height of the technique, Takeshi deftly formed another set of handseals. A wind barrier formed beneath him, creating a platform to stand on, 30 meters high into the sky.

The platform would be restricted to only 5 meters in diameter, meaning that if Haruka tried to get on top with him she would be forced into the range of his Jyuuken techniques. All around the platform andonly slightly below the winds from his previous technique would continue to rage on, tossing around anyone or anything that would attempt to cross them.

Truthfully, Takeshi hadn’t originally intended to show off his prowess with Fuuton ninjutsu. Typically he tried to keep to Jyuuken and basic flawless aim techniques when sparring with others close to his age or rank. His more deadly techniques and talent with Fuuton he preferred to save for ROOT training and missions. But Haruka had already surprised him with her speed and her explosive techniques. He felt compelled to learn what else she had up her sleeve. Perhaps she would be a worthy training partner after all. “Why don’t you try to knock me off this platform?” he challenged, giving her a task of her own. He expected she would likely use her explosives again but this time he would be ready for them.

Haruka watched as his jutsu brought everything up, including her and the crow bombs hiding behind her, she then got an idea and would preform hand signs for two different jutsu back to back so that it looks like it’s a long chain of hand signs for one big jutsu. Then secretly have both of the crows hiding behind her, changing it’s color to look like a real crow. It was then she heard Takeshi comment and decides to try to figure a way to knock him off the platform and since raw explosives would be difficult to not cause to much damage to him she had to think of a different way. She then says “ok that could be interesting to try your on.” She would then have one of them fly up over her as if the wind caused it to happen.

Finally after it was 10 maybe 20m above her would start flying in the direction of Takeshi but would fly over head like a normal bird instead of diving down at him. She would then watch to see if he notices the crow and if she sees him look up at it. Haruka would then do some more hand signs and fire a bolt of lightning at him at 21 speed 12 strength. Hopefully since he wasn’t looking she could land a hit with the lightning.

If he didn’t look up at the crow and get distracted by it and she didn’t see him activate the byakugon again. Haruka would have the bird keep flying overhead until it was in his blind spot then stealthily fly behind him from above and then wait there behind him until the perfect opportunity. Regardless of what outcome happened and if the lightning jutsu hit or was blocked or he dodged after the lightning jutsu had made contact or been dodged. She would then say “as for your two guesses there both wrong, try again.”
