Crisp mountain air filled the nostrils of every man and animal as they approached the mountain village of Kumogakure no Sato. The fresh air permeated their beings, lifting their spirits, and giving them the will to push on. The group had been traveling for days with little rest, and was already going to be late in their arrival to the rice country. They had decided to forgo the luxury of a guide through the mountains, and had gotten lost twice. They were two days behind, and realized that attempting to go any further without a guide would cost more for the company that the cost of hiring one.

It was also rumored that a band of thieves resided at the base of the mountains. Not wanting to risk his entire cargo being thieved, along with the lives of his men, he had hired not only a guide, but also a shinobi to guard them. Both of the ninja he had hired would be arriving soon, he hoped.

This mission seemed bigger than it actually was to Arashi as it would test the group's wills as a team for sure and he didn't want to screw it up, as such he aimed for the mission to go perfectly as the group dashed down the mountains to the meeting area.

It didn't take long to spot the lost merchants as Arashi nodded in their direction as to point out their location.
"11 O'clock" the chuunin simply stated as he dashed in that direction.
Arriving before the men he looked into each of their eyes as if to discern whether they where the correct people before speaking to them in a friendly as possible tone he could form "I am Arashi and we are here to assist you your travels" he said pointing out the other chuunin and genin that where with him.

Akkie had followed Arashi to the destination point. She was watching her surroundings as they moved towards the group she was still developing her sensory ability. Landing next to her partner(s) she turned towards the small caravan of supplies over to determine any weak spots while listening. Then she turned to the men after Arashi spot speaking simply, “Is this it for the size of the group, or has anyone wondered off?”

She wanted to assess the current group for size as well. From the answer she would be given she would form a few set of hand seals then stump her foot. A burst of chakra would be sent out for several yards before coming back. She started to count how many people she found. This would help in case they became ambushed later or if there were any spies in the group, working as a scout. Akkei was always one to be prepared before simply going in. turning she told her teammate(s) how many people there were.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user stamps on the ground, flowing their chakra through the ground in around them. The user’s chakra travels at a speed equal to the user’s control, up to 30 yards. This allows the user to feel the vibrations from the earth. At this level, it doesn’t allow for pinpoint movements, but it does allow for the user to sense direction, amount of pressure, and distance.

The man in charge met the ninja with a warm smile and a hand shake. he introduced himself, and called for one of the men to give him the list of needed supplies. The list was given to the man, with enough money to gather the needed supplies. The excursion would not take long.

Upon inspection, the ninja would find that there were twenty-seven people in the caravan, twenty-nine including the two ninja. As soon as the supplies were gathered, they would be able to leave.

Arashi noted how any people there where in the caravans which seemed like quite a lot of people to watch over, hoping none would get separated during their travel through lightning country.
Nevertheless the apparent leader handed the two shinobi a list and some money for the things that where listed on it, to which he assumed to be a request that they where to retrieve them since they where from Kumo and thus should know the right shops to get them.
Therefore the chuunin examined what was needed and showed the list to his partner as he said "I'll get these, you can guard, is that OK?" he questioned in his robotic like manner, to which if Akkei and the mean where fine with he would set off immediately.

Akkei had nodded at the suggestion after looking at the list. But to be on the safe side she would have to do one or two things. Grabbing a scroll she handed it to Arashi with simple instructions. “On the off chance I should need you back here quickly.” The scroll only required a bit of chakra channeled through it in order to create a unique signature of his own. From there she looked around, in order to find a proper hiding spot until he got back. It would be somewhere up high in order to be able to see the area clearly.

The leader of the group looked at the two shinobi like they had wild monkeys eating their brains. He had expected caution from the group, as per the safety mission, but he felt this was a bit much. Still being in Kumo meant that the caraven was unlikely to be attacked, at least in the man's eyes. Still, he said nothing and was willing to let them handle things as they saw best.

I'll leave the preparations up to you, I'll be in my wagon when you return.

With that, the man calmly turned and walked back towards his people, slightly shaking his head.

Just before Arashi left, Akkei brought out some scroll with chakra signatures on it and other seal like markings that resembled that of the summoning technique and as such that is what he presumed it was.
"A summoning technique?" he asked rhetorically, placing his hand in the next empty space to mark chakra signature.
With that he nodded to both Akkei and the man once again before leaving to find all the things on the list, take quite some time to gather everything that was requested but doing so as hastily as possible and as such returned probably in a much faster time than the group might have expected.

Upon returning to the caravan site the chuunin looked around and called out to signal his return "Hello, I am back!" he simply yelled.

Akkei had gotten Arashi’s signature within the scroll before he departed. With that she watched the area while waiting, but I digress back a bit. Arashi had been out shopping and she found keeping a watch slightly boring. Then a voice was heard, the voice of her partner.

With that she appeared from her viewing spot to within a few inches of him, as fast as possible. “It seemed normal from here, Nothing shady or anything. How did it go on your end Arashi?" Akkie asked before meeting back up with the leader of the group they were to escort.

Word quickly got to the leader of the traders that the shinobi had returned. The man quickly came out to meet the two and prepare to leave.

Oh so you have everything we asked for? This is good, we might just make it to our destination in time yet.

As if in response to the positive thinking a young boy came running to the leader of the group.

Old Man! Old Man! Yura-Chan wandered off and now a group of older kids are picking on him. They said that he was a runt and they were going teach him not to steal business from their fathers. You have to help him, He's straight that way!

The tears rolled down the child's face and the leader knew something had to be done. As he rushed to aid the kid he spoke, not caring whether the two shinobi heard him or not.

And all this time I was just worried about bandits, maybe I shouldn't have brought my people here after all.

As Arashi was greeted by his fellow team member he was glad to hear everything was fine and seemed even happier when the leader came to take the goods off his hands, however at that moment some crying child came up to the group and presented them with somewhat of a threat as he mentioned some other kid wandering off and getting bullied.

When the man dashed off with the child Arashi was quite annoyed at his remark but shrugged it off as that wasn't the issue, as such he nodded towards Akkei as if to say she should follow them just in case whilst he sorted out the stuff and took guard duty.

As the others went to rescue the other child, Arashi took all the items into the leader's caravan where he placed them inside before going round counting everyone and waiting for the others return.

Akkei had noticed the head nod from her partner. And she knew he could cover the convoy till she brought the child back. So she bolted in front of the man and the child that notified them. “Please remain here I will bring the kid back quickly and you don’t have to break away from the group risking a greater compromise to this convoy.” She said.

Then quickly turning she looked at the kid. “Can you tell me exactly what was around them?” After she was ‘briefed by the young boy she would head off to the location making sure to remain out of sight and at a slight distance to avoid the bullies noticing her. She needed to observe them first to know what she was up against.

The ninja arrived on the scene just as three of the Kumo's finest role-models began to pummel the kid from the caravan. At the same time, the kid who was outnumbered was not backing down, getting a decent lick in on whoever stepped close enough. Still, it was only about a minute before the kids had him on the ground and set about kicking and stomping him. If the shinobi had any hope of saving the kid's opinion of the village, and thereby saving the traders' opinions, she had better step in quickly.

Meanwhile, back at the rest of the caravan, the leader was half heartedly gathering people for their departure. He approached Arashi and issued an order in one of the most unfriendly of voices heard on that day. Of course, who could blame the man when the responsibility of leadership fell upon him and a child was facing unknown foes.

Hey, why don't you do something productive and help me get everyone together! Make sure none of the other kids have wandered off instead of expecting your partner to do all the work.

Having counted the people, Arashi saw that besides the missing child everyone was still present but he was soon rudely demanded to help gather everyone by the leader to which the kumogakure chuunin wouldn't have really minded if he had given more precise orders.
Arashi quickly shook of his annoyance and watched what the old man was doing to identify the specifics of what he needed to do, as such the boy quickly picked up such details and did as he was asked by essentially copying what the man was doing and gathering the people where ever it was he was gathering them.

Akkei grabbed her ANBU Mask from her hidden location and placed it on her face. Then she formed a single set of hand seals and shunshin into the group of the bullies blocking the kid.

“Don’t you have better things to do then pick on a boy from another country?” She spoke crisp and clean making sure to strike fear into the bullies.

The kids, scared by the sudden appearance of one of the village's enforcer shinobis, turned and ran, leaving the question unanswered. The bruised kid sat up on the ground, looking between the shinobi and the bullies that were fleeing. On one hand the woman had saved him, but it wouldn't have been necessary if the kids in Kumo weren't jerks. Standing, the child decided to hold back on any opinion other than what would happen if he ever saw those kids again, and marched back toward the caravan; where he was gathered up with the group by Arashi.

It was time to head out. And the lead trader decided it best to let the ninja's decide the safest path that would get them to their destination in three days. After a small planning session, Arashi was left to take the lead, giving directions, and possibly playing the tour guide if he so chose to.

When everyone was finally regrouped they where finally ready to set off with the two shinobi acting as travel guides and protectors throughout the lightning country. Upon receiving the instructions, Arashi would turn to Akkei to draw up a plan.
"I'll go up front and guide as requested, whilst you go at the back and watch out for anything suspicious that may trail us, if you see anything or think my way seems too dangerous then you can call out. How does that sound?" he said, presenting his plan just before the group set off out of Kumogakure no Sato.
If his team mate agreed, the Magnetism user would take his place at he front whilst also acting as a tour guide despite not liking such jobs since he aimed to please every mission objective.

Before going back Akkei made sure once everyone was gone to remove the mask and place it back in her hiding spot underclothing. Then quickly she moved back to the group. Where Arashi get a plan of engagement for the caravan. So with a simple nod and no words, Akkei moved to the second to last wagon where she moved to a crouched position, facing the last car. Every tenth of a mile or so (approx every 200 yards or 500 feet), she would check in front as well to make sure they weren’t drifting back from the group. The rest of the time would be spent observing 120 degrees from over her left shoulder to over her right shoulder.

While they were traveling, the leader of the group approached the lead shinobi asking about the route they were taking.

What makes this route safest? And will we reach our destination quickly?

While this was occurring, Akkei was approached by the child whom she had saved before leaving.

Why did you wear that mask? I know it was you cause your body is different from the other ninja. You could have just told them to leave me alone without it couldnt you?

Arashi explained his reasons to the man as they went down the apparent safe route that seemed just like any other lightning country road, still up in the mountains as they came down from Kumogakure no Sato, there was no way to attack them except from behind where the village was, in front where they had the advantage being higher up as well as being in plain site or from above but what where the chances people could fly so high up in the mountains.

Akkei had been watching the area when she heard the voice of the boy she had saved. ‘the mask, But how?’ she thought as she heard him mention something. She thought about it before replying back to the body. ”You might say the mask represents a higher authority then what most of the ninja answer to, an elite group.” She said concerned that he had identified her so easily.

“Though are you sure it was me, knowing the identity of someone like that would be a sacred but life threatening thing.” She said trying to emphasize the importance of knowing those around you and, keeping secretes in one sentence.

Meanwhile she had not been distracted once while she continued her observation of the surrounding her eyes still being channeled with enough chakra to pick out the surrounding detail.

((just want to let you know at the end of the week i will be good for 2 weeks at least. if i don't come back that following week it will be a hiatus until mid-September when i graduate.))

The boy sat in the back wagon, where Akkei was posted and thought about what she said. He understood that she had to keep her identity secret, but if that was the case, wouldn't it have been better to keep the mask on while on this mission? Deciding that he wouldn't understand her reasoning, but that he knew he had to keep her secret. The boy hopped down and jogged back toward the front, calling back at her as he ran.

You kept me safe, so I'll keep you safe. Guard my family well ninja-san.

With that The group continued on for quite a ways down the mountainside. Of course, what goes up must come down to the bottom, and that was where the group stood to face its challenge. In the dwindling lights of the dark Arashi would be able to make out the barricade of the path by bandits. Since the group only had gone down a path with no entrance or exits to the sides, it had two options, go back or go through. Ultimately, the decision would fall on Arashi.

Venturing down the mountain path, the group came across a barricade of bandits but they looked like the usual barbarian like group who lacked any proper training whilst it would be a nuisance to go back up and pick a new path with the distance they made besides who said they wouldn't just chase them and attack if they just turn around and thus Arashi made a quick judgement to attack them first.
"Bandits!" called out the chuunin
"Everyone get in the caravans, Akkei, cover me!" he commanded.

After performing a quick handseal, two times over, Arashi swiped out two nails from his pouch and took them in his hands where he charged them with electricity and shot them towards two different bandit's heads.

Arashi will perform a quick handseal and take a nail, charging it up with raiton chakra before flicking it with a burst of the chakra causing it to fly with more power behind it than a normal flick whilst increasing it's piercing power. This technique allows Arashi to flick nails up to 5 feet with the ability to skewer someone somewhat easier than normal.

Akkei had given a nod at the boy as he ran off as a sign of agreement. It wasn’t long before trouble started. The caravan was stopped by a group of dysfunctional barbarians. Even their clothing seemed to yell bandits. Akkei had immediately turned around after checking her side of the caravan to make sure no more bandits were going to block their back side as well.

Performing chakra kai on her left wrist she summoned her long range weapon. From this distance she could surely cover her partner while she still advanced forwards towards the front end of the caravan. Placing 4 poison rounds into the pouch as she took careful aim at the bandit’s densest area. Focusing chakra into the rounds she released the pouch as it shot out towards the group. She ran forward as she reloaded once again.

A simple yet effective air borne contact poison. This poison is in the form of a fine powder, that once contact is made will cause mild-to-moderate irritation in the exposed area. The irritation is like rubbing one's hands with fiberglass insulation. If inhaled this powder will cause an itchy throat. This last for 7 Posts.

The bandits didn't seem to be very numerous. Only six of them could be seen, that is, if the onlooker could manage to spot them among the smoke. They had laid several caravans side by side and lit them on fire, creating a burning wall blocking the incoming group not only with objects and debris, but fire as well.

They seemed rather confident, standing at an above average build and height along with their large machete-like weapons. This air of confidence deflated slightly when the right most bandit received a nail to the face. The other bandit that had a nail coming towards him as well was lucky, as he flinched when his comrade died and barely dodged it. But the damage was done, the bandits scurried for cover upon realizing the caravan had shinobi. Most of them pulled large wooden shields from the mass of debris at their feet.

Which was great for blocking projectiles, but it wasn't much use against the cloud of poison that arose after impact. The bandits desperately yelled and itched at themselves, but they still kept up their shields. They weren't going down that easily.

some questions about your post since it seems off to what was give before this.

first: what smoke? i don't see any thing about smoke here, unless you are referring to my poison i shot at them.

second: how did it go from a small group of 6 standing in front of the caravan, to several caravans being already lit on fire? this is since i was two cars from the back, and Arashi was on the front side.

three: i tried to time my attach with that of Arashi, so how were the able to disperse faster then getting hit with the poison. (i do realize that they still got covered which leads to 4)

what do you mean by dispersed, cause i shot forward, and if they dispersed into hiding the way you have it, there would be nothing in front, and the poison wouldn't have done shit. or at least the way i read it.

i think that should clear up a lot of things.

i think that should clear up a lot of things.

Um.
First: your poison disperses into a particulate cloud, correct? Essentially like smoke. So that's what i meant.

Second: Oth had them make a barricade, the burning caravans are the barricade. It's not the caravans you're riding, it's their own that was put there before you arrived.

Three: Because you were farther behind Arashi, and the second arashi's attack struck, they went for cover -_- it doesn't take that long to react. Plus, their bandits waiting for a caravan that they know is coming, obviously, they're going to be ready to protect themselves.

Dispersed just means they weren't cluttered together and in the same spot.

As the male chuunin's attack struck and killed one of the six bandits, they scurried round in a more spread formation and took a hold of some weapons whilst ignoring the itching poison which made it somewhat more difficult to combat them especially when they had the flaming barricade behind them.

Arashi examined the area and rethought his strategy, thinking it probably would be easier to go back and find a new way around but the traders where waiting and finding a new path would probably take longer than a clean up of bandits and clearing of the path which would also aide any other travellers later on, thus he thought it best to try and take them out as fast a possible.

The smoke made it difficult to see the bandits exactly but Arashi had a fair idea of where to aim from the shadowy figures made amongst the smoke, plus he was going to perform a more area of effect like attack which should solve that problem and as such performed a few handseals.
"Get behind me" he commanded to his allies to make sure eh didn't strike them.
With the seals done he too his left sword in his right and and stepped forwards a bit as he pointed it towards the closest bandit he could pick out, sending a wave of electricity along the blade and out in a somewhat wide cone shaped jolt whilst slowly moving it from right to left to try and hit as many people as possible.
"This should stun them" he commented towards Akkei, though without turning to look at her, as he focused on his attack for a little bit longer before stopping and lowering the weapon.
