The breath of life: The art of fire dancing.

Akkei had finished her chores that morning, late in to the all. It was a peaceful day, the trees hung with the colors of the harvest moon. The animals were busy preparing for winter, as the autumn harvest neared. Akkei thought this would be the perfect time to practice her fire dancing skills. Thought he was not a Katon user she had made herself very knowledgeable about fire. After all one should always understand more than their own abilities.

Akkei had taken many hobbies in the part to understand how the world worked. It was not uncommon for her to do what she was not naturally good at or was inexperienced, this was no different. She packed her bags, with the essentials. Flammable oils, a wire ball and chain called poi and even a lighter, as well as her first aid kit and a few other things.

Placing her bag over her shoulder, she exited the house, as she turned towards the front porch. "What a wonderful day." Akkei said with a smile as she began to walk down the street. It would be a long trip to the place she practiced, but that was fine for her. She knew if she was needed she could always be summoned.

It was several hours before her first stop. Akkei was parched, with her stomach growling. She pulled out a bottle of water and swallowed some wholeheartedly. “Man this will be fun.” She said to herself, Moving along the road.

It was several hours before Akkei stopped for the day. She figured she would want to set up before the Night came. So pulling out a scroll she placed her tent in a flat and soft area. Then she placed several poles with cloth on one end of them in to the ground at random places. She made sure to soak the cloths in the flammable oil beforehand. Then walking over to her camp fire, she was ready. She began by lighting the camp fire in order to get an external fire source. The starts now showing in the sky, she smiled while looking up.

She grabbed the poi, one in each hand then lighting them she stepped forward in to the circle of poles, spinning the chained balls in a dazzling array of performance, mixed with the music in her imagination as she went. Each ball crossed each others path as it flew by her. Crossing over from the right to the left, then the left to the right. The sounds of the flame sounded like the roaring crackles of wood bursting and splitting. She crossed then to the opposite side forming a X with the fire.

Then with an exhale she launched a quick ball of Air out creation a small fire ball at it was sent towards one of the poles. *PHHHS* the sound of the cloth’s fabric light as the oil held in place. Placing the Poi in a bucket of water she decided to move on to other parts of the dance.

She placed her hands together behind her back with her legs spread wide, as she focused Fuuton chakra around her hands. So long as she didn’t stop moving during the dance she would be safe, that was the key. She gained control of her breathing as she did so. Then with an inhale as her hands light she began her next section of the dance practice. She pulled both hands in front of her as she stepped forward, her body twisting and turning as her hands swirled in ‘ecstasy’. She exhaled over her hands at the transferred the heat. It was like a dragon was breathing in to the sky, as she spread her hands.

Akkei continued as she spun around again, this time sending balls of air out towards the pillars. Like striking a matchstick, the balls hit the fire as the soared further to the next pillar. Each ball burst in to a ball of flame as it lit the cloth. She was giving hip swings as she danced in rhythm. It was almost hypnotic to anyone passing by as the girl in a skimpy belly dancing style outfit, skin and all.

She passed between each point as she moved with the music in her head. It was as if a whole band was playing just for her. This was more than just amusing. You could see as individual groups of muscles contracted and relaxed as she shifted and swayed. Twisting as she went, she moved to angle herself to lit additional sets of poles. She had come full circle before she moved back to the center grabbing one of the fire poi’s as she re-lit it. She began her rhythmic dancing as she swung the chains exhaling a breath of Fuuton air. She was having so much fun as she dance.
