[Mission]Dr. Pepper in a wine glass
The youth was all dressed up for a walk along the road with whoever his mom had hired to take him to Kumogakure. The dark skinned teen was hippin and hoppin, bippin and boppin, and generally just making sure that he was keeping himself entertained while he waited on the man...or woman, to arrive. He hoped that he would get to drink soft drinks out of wine glasses on the way and all that, but he doubted that particular fantasy would come to pass. He was in the town square, and everybody in town was hugging him goodbye, except for the large, buff men that were giving him the evil eye, obviously waiting on him to get out of town. This would be a fun assignment for Genkaku.

Genkaku calmly walked up to the bunch of people wishing the boy off to live with his father. When Genkaku got up to the group he looked around comically as he said, "Well, I'm Genkaku Hanappari and I've been sent to escort a boy to his father! So who is it I'm escorting here? I see no-one, but adults and this grown man." Genkaku said pointing to the boy who he was obviously leading to safety. At the very least Genkaku could be nice to the boy and his family, and try to make the boy feel good about himself in this difficult situation.

The kid he was escorting couldn't have been more than 16 or 17 and dressed like an idiot; Blue baggy gym pants, a white t-shirt and a sideways baseball cap that made him look something so akin to silly it wasn't even funny. It was no wonder the other guys, most of whom looked like they had some kind of Shinobi training though perhaps not a formal rank. As soon as they saw Genkaku however they hoofed it pretty quickly, scattering out of sight and out of mind.
As soon as the 'man' saw Genkaku he stepped closer to him, trying to tug a bit from his obviously a little clingy and protective family. The mother was sobbing hysterically and what looked like a boyfriend was attempting very hard to cheer her up, the rest seemingly friends.
"Nice to meet you Genkaku. My name's Wirru...And yeah, it's me you're escorting." he explain, his voice a little quiet as he tried to keep his mother from getting upset. "Got some guys from the village have threatened me and all that...My mother just wants to make sure I get there okay. So what do you say we get out of here?" he asked, hefting a large backpack he'd been dragging around over one shoulder now.

Genkaku met the boy halfway as Wirru stepped forward. He extended his hand out hoping the boy would take it and shake it as a sign of acceptance.
Directly after that whether he was turned down by the boy or whether his hand was met by another hand Genkaku walked up to the mother with a friendly smile on his face. "Ma'am, it's apparent to me that you must be this young man's mother. I know what you're going through is very hard, I personally lost my sister when I was just a boy, and while that isn't quiet the same effect as losing a son I still understand it's not easy. However, think of the good that comes out of this. Your son will be in a safe place, away from any danger. And not only that, but you can also visit him whenever you want to, it's not like we're taking him away forever. I'm sure that the shinobi hired to track down the boys that threatened your son will do their job quickly and before you know it, he'll be back home."
Genkaku paused for a moment and lowered himself down so that his eyes were on the same level as the mother's. Eye to eye he spoke, "I promise on my life that I will escort your son safely to his destination."
Genkaku hoped what he had said would cheer up the mother, at least a little. But after getting any other reactions out of the way from the rest of the family and friends Genkaku would turn to the boy and say. "Alright bud, lets head on out."

Wirru had shook Genkaku's hand as he approached, nodding to him as he looked to his family again. He let Genkaku take care of his parents a little and once he had said his piece the mother seemed to cheer up a bit, wringing out the handkerchief she had been using to dry her eyes (and pouring a torrent of tears over Genkaku's foot) before thanking the man and wishing him luck...Then rushing over and bear hugging her son one last time sobbing like a madwoman.
The rest of Wirru's family just shook Genkaku's hand or accepted his promise, telling him to watch out for the boys and other such things. Before long however everyone was leaving, Wirru's mother still dripping tears as she was pulled away from the scene...With that however, Wirru nodded to Genkaku once he told him to get ready to move and he stepped away, hefting his backpack as they headed towards the village exit.

As Genkaku walked down the path he instantly noticed the changes that something just wasn't right, after all he was a genius. Grabbing Wirru's arm Genkaku pulled him back towards him. "Stand still and watch." Genkaku told Wirru. Picking up a nearby pebble on the path they had been traveling on Genkaku tossed it with accuracy at some of the other rocks on the ground, he didn't know if they would blow up or what they would do, but he was bound to find out if anything at all...

The trap was incredibly simple once Genkaku triggered it. The rock hit the series of rocks and each one suddenly sprang up in a cage pattern with Fuuinjutsu seals laced over each rock. The bars were as thick as the rocks and 7 foot tall easily, meaning that Wirru would've been trapped and at the mercy of whatever was coming after him.
Of course the trap had a secondary feature. Genkaku would have a split second to feel the rumble beneath his feet as the second part of the trap opened; A five foot diameter hole shot open underneath Wirru and Genkaku both, sending both down into a stone lined pit.

Genkaku began feeling the rumble underneath his feet and went straight to hand signs either something was about to come up or they were about to go down either way he had something he knew he could use to cover for either. As soon as Genkaku finished his hand signs he put one hand to his mouth and used his other one to grab the hand of Wirru; with the extra weight of another person the jet of water shot out of Genkaku's mouth didn't shoot Wirru and Genkaku as far as it would just Genkaku, but they cleared the hole by a couple of feet.
Genkaku landed on his feet and whether Wirru would land on his rump or feet Genkaku knew not. "You okay, Wirru?" Genkaku asked the boy anticipation could be heard in Genkaku's voice as well as seen in his eyes. Genkaku was ready.

Wirru nearly screamed as they went down towards inky darkness below but Genkaku's quick thinking cut it off as the pair lifted out of the pit. They landed and Wirru groaned a bit as he put a hand to his face. Clearly this was not going the way he expected, these guys after him must've been stupidly persistent about this to attack him with a ninja escort but that wasn't a surprise. Wirru landed a little bit unsteadily on his feet "Thanks...God, you tell one guy to step off once and this is-"

Genkaku heard the stream of water being shot from his side and since it had come so quickly compared to how they had just dodged the traps there were no times for hand seals.
Genkaku dove towards Wirru and tackled him to the ground away from both the water attack and the hole. Then he jumped back to his feet and into hand signs. Immediately he saw one of the attackers who held a rope and club. Once Genkaku's hand signs were done he threw a ball of water into the air and did one final hand sign. The ball exploded and it began to rain. As it rain Genkaku did a short string of hand signs in order to activate his Genjutsu. If even one of the rain drops hit any person within their range then they would be caught in Genkaku's Genjutsu. It was possible that the person in the trees could also get hit by a single rain drop, but not as likely. On the contrary it would be nearly impossible for this man on the path in the wide open view to not be hit by at least one of the many rain drops and if he was hit then he would be caught in the Genjutsu, Wirru would also be hit by the rain drops...

The blast of water dissipated quickly and it's user remained hidden as the club and rope user threw the club up into the air, whirling it over his head like a ball and chain. The rain, however, interrupted his technique as Genkaku threw the water into the air, the rain drops hitting him and covering Genkaku. Which wasn't actually as good a tactic as Genkaku had thought...Because without being able to see Genkaku, he could still see Wirru who had had stepped away from Genkaku when he threw the water into the air. There was nothing blocking the man's path between Wirru and him; The club went flying out and wrapped around Wirru's waist with the rope, locking onto itself and trying to yank the man over towards the side of the road.

As Genkaku headed towards the enemy he attached an exploding note to the end of a kunai handle. Then almost right as Wirru was wrapped up by the whip Genkaku reappeared doing his two attacks in a swift movement at the same time. Using his left hand he slashed with his sword through the rope that was about to drag Wirru and using his right hand he threw an accurate kunai with an exploding note on it right at the enemies thigh.
If this made contact Genkaku would scream aloud. "Unless you want to lose your leg and possibly more then give up, same goes for your friend. Tell him to give up as well."
Genkaku glanced back at Wirru making sure he was okay and through the woods looking for the other Shinobi then quickly back to the man with the club only 15 yards ahead of him.
"So what will it be?" Genkaku asked allowed.

The sword slashed the rope apart like a pile of dead leaves and the man hauling Wirru away yanked too hard too fast, flying back and landing on his ass with the exploding note kunai hitting the tree just above his head, leaving the man sitting there extraordinarily still and his friend was standing there now too, both looking between the kunai and Genkaku a bit intimidated to say the least. It was also a bit hard for them to refuse, what with near death being right over their heads.
Without even responding to Genkaku, when the offer to give up was extended, the first man nodded fitfully and motioned a surrender sign while the second ran over, grabbed his leg and drug him down the road as fast as he humanly could. Leaving Wirru to dislodge the rope on his waist and look at Genkaku now. "Yeah...Remind me never to piss off some guys up to no good ever again, huh?"

Genkaku let the other Shinobi leave after surrendering. He told them he would let them go and being a man of his word he let them go.
After they had walked off Genkaku helped Wirru get the rope off of his body before helping him back up to his feet. Once Wirru was ready to go Genkaku helped him up and began leading him back up the path avoiding anything that looked like it could be a trap, always ready for an attack or a surprise incase he needed to do a sudden Jutsu or react in some way quickly.
Then Genkaku spoke up, "Well, I hope you're alright. And yeah you can't mess with guys that are up to no good. That's why your mom said'You're moving in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.' 'You're moving in with your dad at Kumogakure.' But lets go we need to make it to Kumogakure before nightfall."
After they had walked off Genkaku helped Wirru get the rope off of his body before helping him back up to his feet. Once Wirru was ready to go Genkaku helped him up and began leading him back up the path avoiding anything that looked like it could be a trap, always ready for an attack or a surprise incase he needed to do a sudden Jutsu or react in some way quickly.

Wirru shook his head as the man confirmed his reasons for going to Kumogakure, already knowing this and seemingly not entirely happy with the idea. "But man...I hear Kumogakure is prissy, bourgeois and all that. Is that really where they're sending this cool cat?" he asked, frowning a bit at the thought of it.
The path was pretty clear from then on, only a few loose rocks and stones to offer any even hints of traps but they were all banal. Soon however the road began to curve up...And up. And up some more. It wasn't long before Genkaku would realize this road was far too high up, even if Wirru wasn't panting and kneeling over to catch his breath right now. "Holy...This is not...what I had in mind. I would kill...For a cart with dice on the wheels..."
The road was somehow about 50 feet above the ground now and it only looked to get higher, but strangely the road behind them was curved up now too...In fact it looked like they were walking around in a giant circle of road.
The path was pretty clear from then on, only a few loose rocks and stones to offer any even hints of traps but they were all banal. Soon however the road began to curve up...And up. And up some more. Genkaku heard what Wirru said about Kumogakure and shook his head vigariously as he spoke, "No, no. Kumogakure is home to all that mean it no harm. Almost everyone in the village is friendly, there are even festivals that happen nearly every week, you'll love it in Kumogakure of that I'm sure. And I mean look at me I'm a pretty cool cat too and I've made it there everyday of my life." Genkaku finished his little speech with a wink at Wirru.
Genkaku looked around the path confused for the moment, not really sure what exactly this was, but being a Genjutsu user himself and very smart Genkaku had to make sure. "Kai" Genkaku used Kai on both him and Wirru, just in-case it were a Genjutsu. If not more likely than not it was some type of Ninjutsu, but Genkaku wanted to make sure before moving on...
"Prepare yourself for another attack, Wirru, we're about to go through something else before we make it to your new home." Genkaku told Wirru.

The genjutsu broke for the two of them almost immediately, but it was too late. The illusion melted away but the pair were now very far off the road, stuck in what basically looked like a valley of sorts. Retracing their steps would have to come later though, as there was a ninja standing in front of them holding a seal as if he had been powering the illusion up to this point. Realizing it was broken however he began to reform the hand seals required for another technique and then slammed his palm down into the ground. The ground around Genkaku and Wirru began to churn like it was turning into thin dust, dragging the pair down slowly and Wirru was already trapped, grabbing at his leg to try and pull it free with no luck. He was already exhausted and this wasn't helping matters any.

The user will find himself on an island of solid ground in the middle of the churning earth. It will then act as a sort of quicksand, attempting to trap the targets within the earth. This is not to be confused with turning into actual quicksand, but mimicking its effects. Generally, the technique is able to pull down a person one foot per post and requires a strength of five to escape. For every foot of their body pulled into the earth past the first, the strength needed to pull their body out is increased by two. This jutsu has a maximum depth of 10 feet.

As the Jutsu was activated Genkaku was just about to leap towards his opponent and fight on, but suddenly, 'oh no' he thought in his head. Genkaku's foot was stuck. Pulling his leg with all of his might Genkaku freed himself, and leaped away from churning rocks and 'quick sand'.
Genkaku only had a short period of time (four more posts, assuming Wirru is at least taller than five feet, and five more posts, if he's six feet) to defeat this opponent in order to free Wirru. Genkaku knew he wasn't strong enough to pull Wirru free after all it took nearly all of his strength to pull himself free, and pulling someone else free was bound to be much more difficult.
"Game on." Genkaku whispered to himself. It was a fight against time and Genkaku was prepared. It was time to see how strong this opponent was.

The Heating Sword Ninjutsu was created by Genkaku Hanappari, and it allows him to run Katon chakra through his sword (or other blades, like kunai’s etc) to make them warm up to extreme temperatures or even catch on fire. The object heats up to extreme temperatures or becomes engulfed in flames, which can either cause burns on the person it touches, or it can be used to activate some of Genkaku's Genjutsu. This Jutsu can last for any amount of time, depending on if Genkaku wants to keep it active or not. The longer it stays ignited, the more chakra he burns. This Jutsu can be activated by one handed hand seals.

Wirru was indeed sinking at a fair rate but there was enough time for Genkaku to fight this opponent off and still have time to dig Wirru out of the ground. (5 Post left)
The man Genkaku was fighting wasn't as weak as the others it seemed, the two from before. The dirt trap seemed to be more of a technique to put the battle on his level and keep Wirru from being hurt while he 'dealt' with Genkaku. He slapped his hands together again and after a few quick seals, five spears of stone shot out of the ground around him and he yanked one out of the dirt, meeting Genkaku head on.
He gripped the spear around the middle and leapt at Genkaku, spinning it slightly before thrusting the spear at the man's hand, attempting to knock Genkaku's sword away.

As the enemy began making hand signs so did Genkaku. Genkaku's sword stayed lit once he was done with the hand signs and as he picked up his pace towards the enemy. Genkaku may not have been a master of Taijutsu, but he had the skills to nearly match an average Jounin, he figured he could take on this person who appeared to be more of a Ninjutsu style user.
Genkaku watched as the enemy pulled up a spear and began running towards him they met head on. Moments before meeting the man Genkaku pulled out a regular kunai that he held in his left hand and the sword on fire he held in his right. The sword was held normally, but the kunai was held in the opposite of normal direction, instead of pointing upwards the blade pointed down, it could be used easier for stabbing as well as deflecting attacks this way, or at least in Genkaku's opinion.
As the man leapt towards Genkaku he thrusted his spear in the direction of Genkaku's hand. Using his mind/wit not his skill in Taijutsu Genkaku timed his defense as perfectly as he thought it could be planned out. As the spear came forward closer to Genkaku, using his left hand, the one with the kunai, Genkaku "punched" sideways in the direction of the spear and continued his punch straight through it. Had Genkaku's knowledge and precise timing worked then the kunai Genkaku held and the spear's head would meet at the same place and Genkaku's kunai would most likely push the spear off it's course and very possibly leave his opponent open for an attack.
So if the spear didn't continue past the kunai and stab into Genkaku/Genkaku's hand, then Genkaku would begin slashing furiously at his opponent with his sword. However, if he made contact with the enemy not only would he cut the enemy but his Genjutsu would take place. Likewise if Genkaku missed his attacks, but still got relatively close to his enemy, the flames coming from off the blade would most likely burn the enemy, even if only slightly, which was more than enough to activate his Genjutsu as well.

The kunai stab was accurate and it pushed the spear's thrust off balance, though not quite enough for Genkaku's follow-up attack to hit with as much accuracy as it could have. The man was fairly strong though he didn't recover from the mid-air collision well, his spear moving back and with the crack in it, it wasn't going to be able to take many more hits. He swung the spear back into the path of Genkaku's sword as fast as he could, using it to catch the blade at a few points but the damage to the spear was to much to sustain and the man was hit at least twice by the sword. The Genjutsu worked soon after and the man screamed out as he was suddenly enveloped by flames, at least in his own mind.
He didn't stop moving though, his movements simply got more erratic. This time the man yanked at every spear he could find, hurling them towards Genkaku and holding the fifth close to his chest.
Meanwhile, behind Genkaku, Wirru was struggling to climb out of the rolling earth now, up to his knees disappearing amongst dirt and stones. "Hey, uh, that's cool and all but could you help me out over here?" Wirru called, clawing at the moving dirt and trying to free himself.

Genkaku frowned, at the first sign of trouble this man's entire strategy fell apart. Genkaku took the kunai in his left hand and threw it accurately at the back of the man's leg. Hopeful to hit the calf because if he did the man wouldn't be able to walk on it at all, at least not for a good bit of time. However, any part of the man's leg would work simply to slow him down too much to make it to his spears at an effective speed.
Genkaku reached into his weapon pouch and threw two shuriken at the man's legs. These were just general throws they weren't meant to hit anywhere specific just somewhere in his legs to cripple him.
If all three of Genkaku's attacks hit then he would proceed forward towards the man with his sword drawn and still ignited on fire.
If he had dodged all of the attacks that had come from behind him where he couldn't see, unless of course this man had eyes in the back of his head, then Genkaku would stay back and dodge the spears.
Under either circumstance Genkaku would yell back to Wirru. "Hold on, I'm almost done here. Once I'm finished I'll come free you, if I turn my back on this man now I could be killed. And if I die you will to die. I must defeat him first!"

The throws, general as they were, still hit the mark fantastically. The man stumbled heavily and nearly collapsed forward onto the spear he was trying to grab but instead he was pushed forward, slipping on the solid rock around him and actually breaking through one of the spears with his head. He groaned out as he slid his hands over the rock, clawing at dirt in an effort to push himself up and still howling in pain from the fire roaring around him. He grabbed at the broken spear, weapons lodged in his legs and he spun the spear bit around, throwing it at Genkaku like a javelin. The other spears were too out of reach and what he had thrown was little more than a stone branch, basically. It might distract Genkaku but it wouldn't stop him.
Wirru of course just shut up after that was said, groaning a bit as he tried to push himself out of the dirt now without Genkaku's help.

Genkaku easily avoided the weakly thrown spear by side stepping. As he passed by the enemy he continued on, but never turned his back on the man, instead he faced him, and then as Genkaku reached the other spears he pulled them out of the ground one by one and threw them far out of this man's reach just in-case he tried something again.
Once he was done throwing the spears he walked back around the man, still never taking his eyes off of him, and helped Wirru out of the rocks. They should have been good to go from this enemy, unless by some miracle he was able to get up and start running again.
If Wirru was successfully freed then Genkaku and him could continue on down the path, past the injured Shinobi. And until the injured man was out of eyes sight, Genkaku didn't let his eyes leave the man for more than a second, not wanting any last second surprises.

The flames kept him quite unable to retaliate and while he wasn't going to die, he certainly wasn't getting up to fight any time soon without some medical attention or a very long nap, both most likely and to add to it all he was groaning lowly as he tried to recover from his rather entertaining dirt nap.
