Going for an C-Rank. Spiritualism Technique. 1500 Words. Nin-6 Wit-8 = 14*50= 700. 1500-700=800 words needed.
The man made his way casually out of Kumogakure. He didn't appear to be suspicious, and, in fact, many of the people he passed, be they shinobi or commoner knew him, at least by name. The man was young and he worked as a page in the Raikage's office. He usually spent his time running messages around the village or copying memos and the like. It was a simple existence, and it suited the man well. After all, the man had never had any skill in chakra manipulation, and he had never had the stomach for taijutsu. Not to mention, if he did his job well, he could be promoted and eventually become a secretary or historian, or any number of other jobs key to the running of the village. That was the man's dream, to become important through the skills he exceeded at.

Today though, he had been given a rather odd task. As a messenger and employee of the offices of the Kage, he had been all over Kumogakure and was familiar with most of the village. But now, this assignment... His boss had brought him a sealed scroll. He was told to deliver the scroll to a low stone wall several miles outside the village. No one would be there and he was to leave the scroll under a rock at the base of the wall 200 feet down said wall from the road. No, as he waved to the village shinobi guarding the gates, he wondered just what kind of delivery this was.

.....

At the location specified, the man glanced around cautiously. He was standing at the drop point, at the low stone wall. It was true, there wasn't anyone nearby that he could see. But he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. No matter where he turned, there was no one around, and there were hardly any sounds but the chirping of birds and the chirping of grasshoppers. A chill ran up the man's spine and a cold sweat was forming over his skin as he placed the scroll beneath the stone that stood out a bit from the rest of the wall. The man turned and ran as fast as he could back to the road and back towards the village. Just what the hell had been on that scroll? It had occurred to him before that it was the right size and design for a ninja scroll, and such things could be highly dangerous for non-shinobi to carry. Who knew what was written on the scroll, but if it had been something of vital importance or if he was supposed to have risked his life to keep it safe, he would have been told so. So he was out of there just as fast as his legs would carry him.

.....

Shindara sat in a tree on the tree line at the edge of the field surrounding the stone wall the man had dropped the scroll at. He chewed a long piece of grass, languishing against the trunk of the tree. The guy sure had taken off in a hurry. For a pencil pusher he had some pretty good instincts. he had probably felt Shindara monitoring him from afar. The feeling of being watched was something most anyone could feel. It wasn't a skill limited to just shinobi. Rolling to his right, Shindara dropped from the tree, landing gracefully, and started across the field towards the wall where the man had left the scroll.

Taking the scroll out from under the rock, Shindara studied it for a second, making sure there wasn't anything suspicious about it before breaking the seal and flinging the scroll open across the top of the stone wall. The scroll was a copy of a jutsu scroll. Normally, scrolls like this would be kept under complete control and supervision, and copies would rarely ever be made. But, this jutsu wasn't anything the village was concerned about keeping hidden. Indeed, the secrecy in the scroll's delivery was more for Shindara's benefit than the scroll's.

The jutsu on the scroll was the simple Spiritualism Technique summoning ability. The technique was one of the more basic of jutsu. It could be found most anywhere in the world. Shindara had left a signal at the outpost that he wanted to send a message. When he had seen the responding signal, he left his message in a secured location, and it had been transferred to Kumogakure, to the office of the Raikage. It was unlikely the Raikage himself had dealt with the request for the scroll. It was likely that he had at least one staff member set up to deal with the unimportant requests and duties of the Black Ops. And so, the scroll had been sent.

Studying the jutsu on the scroll, Shindara smirked. It really was simple. He was surprised he had overlooked it back when he was in school. Of course, at that time he hadn't known the skills that he would eventually develop, and how this jutsu would become necessary in his future. Taking a few more minutes to study the technique, he then picked up the scroll and, lighting a match, he lit the scroll on fire. He allowed it to burn for a minute or two before dropping it to the ground. He stood there, watching it burn until he was satisfied that it was completely destroyed. Even though the jutsu wasn't all that important, it was still a document from Kumogakure, even if there were no identifying marks. As Shindara made his way away from the drop site, he chuckled to himself. "Honestly, so simple. I'm surprised I didn't figure it out on my own."

Stopping in a little clearing back within the tree line, Shindara took a moment, listening to the wind. He didn't hear anyone nearby, his accute sense of hearing telling him he should be safe. Alright, time to see if I can't put this into practice. Shindara took a moment to run the jutsu through his head. The basic summoning technique was the root for all summoning abilities. It revolved around the simple premise of using one's chakra to summon a being or object to one's current location. It seemed to him that the idea would be to almost call out with one's chakra for the target being you wanted to summon. Like a transmission of sorts. That made him wonder, did the summoning technique release readable chakra into the surrounding atmosphere? Would using the technique alert any sensor-type shinobi in the vicinity of his presence?

Well, he was within the borders of the lightening country, and not all that far from Kumogakure. Though he had to be careful about being found out by other Kumo shinobi... He shouldn't have to worry too much about enemies moving in on his location. He began forming hands seals. It was slow at first. He was taking his time memorizing the seals. It was very important to make sure one had the right seals in the right order. Mistakes could be deadly on the battlefield. After he thought he had the seals down, Yuan decided to give the technique a try. He cycled through the seals with the speed of an experienced shinobi and slammed his palm into the ground.

Nothing happened... Yuan stood there in the rather awkward palm-to-ground stance for a few seconds... Just to be sure nothing was going to happen. Rising from his position, Yuan scratched his head. He knew he didn't have a summon on which he could call... But still, there should be some smoke or something. Yuan had seen summons performed before, and there was usually a big puff of smoke or something. Yuan took a moment to think about how he had performed the jutsu and what mistakes he could have made. He thought back to the scroll he had been reading just a few moments before. Could he have misread the required hand seals? He didn't think so... But then, there were certain hand seals that looked similar to one another. Yuan began moving through the hand seals slowly, considering them one by one. After a few moments of consideration, he decided on a likely change that needed to be made.

His course of action decided on, Yuan prepared to try the jutsu again. His hands flashed as they sped through the hand seals. Slamming his palm against the ground once more, Yuan watched, hoping that he would get some reaction this time. From between his fingers, a small *poof* of smoke arose. Yuan smirked sarcastically. It was good that he got at least some reaction... But it was still pretty pathetic. Since he was able to get a reaction, though, that should be an indication that he had the hand seals correct. So, it was probably something to do with his chakra manipulation.

Sitting down, Yuan slowly made each hand seal in the proper order, stopping on each one to focus on how he was distributing, gathering and releasing his chakra. He tried making some changes to the flow of his chakra for each of the seals he made. He had to get a feel for how he used his chakra with each hand seal, because he wouldn't be able to analyze or over think that sort of thing when he was out in the field. It was like using a sword or riding a horse or any number of other things such as this. Whenever someone became truly skilled at something, their body would memorize the feeling of the movements they needed to make to perform a task, so they could do them without thinking to much about them. It was the same thing here. Yuan's body memorized each burst of chakra that he released so that he would remember the feeling and be able to perform the chakra manipulation virtually subconsciously.

Standing again, Yuan took a deep breath. Once again, his hands flashed through a series of hand seals. He bent down and slammed his palm against the ground. This time, there was a large blast of smoke that sot out to all sides around him. Again, nothing showed up to his summons, but Yuan was satisfied. That attempt looked just like the summoning techniques he had seen in the past.

Training for D-Rank raiton jutsu "lightening shock". 1100 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1100-700=400 words required.
Yuan stood outside yet another safe house tucked away in the countryside of the Lightening Country. That was one thing that he didn't like about being a member of the Black Ops... Always having to move around. He didn't mind the secrecy or the dangerous assignments, but he would have liked to have some sort of concrete place where he could lay his head. A place of his own that he could build to his likes and make comfortable by his own standards. But alas, it wasn't meant to be, and so it was that he was standing on a large, open ledge halfway up a mountain, shirtless, doing his morning exercises. Well, even if he couldn't have his own place, set up just the way he liked it, these safe houses were given pretty prime placement. Even now, as he worked out, he was able to look at the morning light shining down on the mist that flowed through the mountains of Lightening Country spread out below.

Turning away from the view, Yuan scooped himself a handful of water from a barrel by the front door of the shack that passed for a safe "House" and turned his attention to the more important topic on today's agenda. He had always known that he had the ability to use Raiton chakra, the trademark of his country, but he had never taken the time to learn any Raiton techniques. Well it was time to rectify that. He had spoken to his superior and gotten some quick basic training in a few basic techniques and it was time to try and put them into practice.

Stepping back out onto the open ledge, Yuan focused on channeling his raiton chakra. First he had to simply draw it out, which, though it was a simple process, was still a pretty new experience to him. He closed his eyes, focusing within, and he felt the charged chakra begin to stir within him. Now it was time to try and put it to use. Making a quick set of hand seals, Yuan focused on making the raiton chakra flow into his hands. It took a moment, but surely enough there was a spark of electricity between his fingers. It was a good sign that things were moving quickly, but he still had a ways to go in mastering raiton. Making the short string of hand seals again, Yuan focused once more on channeling the raiton chakra into his hands. This time, electricity started shooting back and forth between his fingers. The electricity spread, arcing around his thumb and over his palm. It shot back and fourth around each of his hands surrounding them in its blue-ish white glow. Stepping back over to the water barrel, Yuan touched his hand to the top of the water, watching as the electricity sparked across the surface. It was only a basic technique, but it could still have its uses, and it was a good technique in a pinch. He was sure he could find uses for it. The technique could be combined with any number of other moves, including taijutsu, if he ever to the time to learn some...

Training for D-Rank raiton jutsu "Raiton Clone". 1100 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1100-700=400 words required.
Yuan drank once more from the barrel of water at his mountain-top safe house. He sighed as he finished gulping down the water, feeling its replenishing power. Alright, back to the grind stone. Yuan turned away from the water, looking out once more at the beautiful view surrounding him. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. He was turning his focus inward again, drawing on his raiton chakra. This time he would need a bit more of it. The next jutsu that he was going to attempt was a bit more complex than just running an electric current through his hands.

Once he had gathered what he felt was enough raiton chakra, Yuan performed a quick set of hand seals, channeling his raiton chakra appropriately for each one. Manipulating the chakra, he forced it out of his body, forming it and molding it to the proper specifications. The raiton chakra began to form and take shape in front of him. It started as a simple circular mass, but then elongated vertically. The bottom split, forming into legs, and two protrusions extending out and down from the top forming arms. The center formed into a stomach and chest, and the top began shaping itself into a smaller orb on a stalk, that being the head and neck. Things seemed to be forming up well, if slowly, but that all stopped when the clone suddenly burst, releasing the raiton chakra into the surrounding air. Yuan was hit by his own chakra, embarrassingly enough. He was thrown back and his jaw tingled. His left knee felt numb from the shock.

It took Yuan a few moments to recover from the blast. It had done a pretty good number on him, especially since he really hadn't seen it coming. He caught his breath first, and shifted his jaw a bit to get rid of that nasty tingling sensation. He tried to stand, but his left knee was still numb, so he had to massage it for a few seconds before he could comfortably put his weight on it again. On his feet once more, Yuan took a deep breath, regaining his composure. Focusing once more, he once again began channeling his raiton chakra. Once he had enough built up, he made the quick string of hand seals and began manipulating the chakra, forcing it out of his body. This time the formation went much more smoothly. The raiton chakra was formed and shaped into a virtually perfect copy of Yuan himself. Giving the clone a cursory inspection, Yuan say nothing really flawed in the shaping or mimicry of himself. He jumped around a bit, waving his arms about, making the clone mock his movements. The clone copied his movements nearly perfectly. Satisfied, Yuan had the clone walk over to the other side of the ledge and dispelled it, releasing the raiton chakra into the surrounding air. He had learned the first time. He wasn't going to let that thing release its chakra nearby him anymore.

Training for D-Rank raiton jutsu "Shock Treatment". 1100 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1100-700=400 words required.
Yuan sat on the large mountain ledge where his current safe house was located, gazing out at the beautiful view he had from his vantage point. The morning mist was still rolling through between the mountains of Lightening Country, and it was truly a beautiful sight. He sat in contemplation for a while, using the view as a calming aspect for a sort of meditation. He was taking a short break between learning jutsu for his raiton chakra type. Sighing, he broke his peaceful trance and stood once more, shaking off the cool dew that he been forming on his body. It was time to get back to work again. Yuan liked to move quickly and get things done, and he was planning on rapping out several jutsu this morning before he got busy with work once more.

Stepping back to the center of the wide ledge, Yuan inhaled deeply turning his focus inward once more to draw on his raiton chakra. Focusing, he felt the charged chakra flowing from within him once more. He drew forth what he felt was the right amount of raiton chakra and then, quickly, he performed a short set of hand seals. Manipulating the chakra to flow into his hands like before, Yuan watched as electricity once more began sparking between his fingers. This jutsu was the "Shock Treatment" technique, and he had been told that it was useful for waking up someone who has been knocked out, or to spark attention in someone who is conscious. The idea seemed a bit risky to Yuan, but he shrugged off his apprehension. If it was such a simple technique, surely it must be safe. Reaching up slowly, Yuan touched his charged hand to his head. There was a spark of electricity and Yuan collapsed backwards.

Several minutes later, Yuan sat back up, shaking his head irritably. What the hell were people thinking, shocking themselves like that. Were all the raiton users of the world complete idiots? Shaking his head back and forth as though he were in an argument with himself, Yuan calmed himself. Surely the fault lay with him. He must have used to much chakra. He had only used a bit less than the Lightening Shock technique that he had just learned, and the effect of that jutsu was clearly for offensive purposes. He just needed to dial it back a bit more. With more than a little bit of wariness, Yuan once again turned his attention inward. He focused, drawing once more on his raiton chakra, but this time being sure to gather less than he had on the previous try. Once he was satisfied with the amount of chakra, he quickly performed a short set of hand seals. Channeling the chakra into his hands, Yuan watched as tiny sparks went off between his fingers. This time, he wasn't going to be stupid enough to try this shit on his head. Reaching out slowly, Yuan brought his hand to hover over his leg. Gulping, he lowered his hand to touch his leg. He flinched despite himself, but the pain never came. Instead, Yuan felt an energy flow through his leg and up to his head. It wasn't an unpleasant experience at all. He felt energized. It was actually pretty nice. Smiling, Yuan released the raiton chakra, ending the technique. Such an ability could prove to be useful if used in the right situation.

Training for D-Rank raiton jutsu "Ground Spike". 1100 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1100-700=400 words required.
Yuan stoked the stove in the little hut on the mountainside that severed as his safe house for the time being. He had been negligent in maintaining the wood-burning stove and the fire had almost gone out. The hut was getting chilly in the early morning mountain air, and it was unpleasant not having a nice warm enclosed space to which he could retreat to when his training was over. After adding a few more of the small logs, treated so that they wouldn't give off hardly any smoke, to the fire, Yuan was content that it would keep burning until he was finished with his last jutsu of the morning.

This next jutsu was the one he was probably most excited about learning. Of the several basic jutsu he had been instructed in briefly by his superior, this one had the most potential for good use in his opinion. The "Ground Spike" technique. Even the name sounded pretty good. The technique involved channeling the raiton chakra into an actual bolt of lightening that the user would send arcing through the ground. A very promising technique to be sure.

Turning, Yuan's gaze found another stone of similar size. he couldn't help himself, he really was like a child with a new toy. Who cared anyway? There was no one around to see him acting like a little school boy, and as his techers always told him, practice makes perfect. Forming the correct sequence of hand seals quickly, Yuan stomped the ground once more. The arcing beam of electric energy shot in and out of the ground once more, slamming into the stone. The stone cracked once more and fell to pieces. Yuan smirked again before turning to head back into his hut. Yes, he was going to enjoy using the raiton element in the future.

Stepping outside once more, Yuan walked to the center of the ledge his hut was on and closed his eyes for a moment. Taking a deep breath, Yuan calmed himself turning his attention inwards. Focusing, Yuan drew upon his raiton chakra once more. Drawing forth what he felt would be enough, Yuan glanced around himself looking for a target. A small rock about the size of a man's head drew his attention, and he decided that this poor thing would be his toy for the day. Making a quick set of hand seals, Yuan channeled his chakra into his foot and then raised said foot and stomped it into the ground with some measure of force. He was delighted to see a strong arcing bolt of lightening soot out of the ground and dive back in, arcing up again several feet into the air after the first arc and dropping down again just as quickly. The arcing bolt did this three times before slamming into the stone. The rock cracked and split in two from the attack. Yuan couldn't help but smile like a little school boy with a new toy. He knew that raiton was strong against douton or stone, but it was still fun to watch the energy he had discharged break stone. Yes, this technique would indeed be quite useful in the future, he was sure. The ability to condense his raiton chakra and form it into an actual bolt of lightening, and then to send that bolt of electricity tearing through the ground, leaping towards the target... It was a very enjoyable feeling.

Training for D-Rank Storm jutsu "Strobe Show Technique". 1100 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1100-700=400 words required.
Yuan sat, cross-legged in the middle of a pine forrest in Kumo. His long sleeveless jacket hung from a tree behind him and he was shirtless. He was currently in between safe houses at the moment and had found this nice quiet spot to work on some training. This time, it wasn't as simple as basic elemental release. No, what he was trying to learn now was a combination style unique to Kumogakure. Very few, even within Kumo knew how to use this style. Few had the appropriate chakra, and even amongst those that did, it wasn't very common to find those who could use it. It was Storm style. This style combined suiton and raiton chakra to form what people commonly referred to as simply "storm". It was basically liquid lightening, and it was powerful.

The jutsu that Yuan was going to try to start out with was known as the "Strobe Show Technique". It was one of the more simple storm style techniques, but it was still going to be difficult to figure out, especially in the beginning. The technique involved forming "storm" from each finger by combining the suiton and raiton chakra on that point and then having the chakra flow into the center of the hand, forming a needle-like projectile. The projectile then fired and whatever it hit, it would be able to pierce many substances as well as splash, each drop carrying with it piercing power of its own. Yuan figured he had the idea of how the jutsu worked down pretty good as he ran it through his head again.

Turning his focus inward, Yuan started drawing on his suiton chakra. The suiton chakra was what Yuan was most familiar with working with thus far, and so he figured it would be easier starting with this and then adding the raiton chakra. Once he thought he had gathered enough suiton, he started trying to draw on his raiton chakra. It wasn't the easiest task, drawing on both at the same time. Slowly, he began to feel the raiton chakra flow into him as well while he held on to the suiton that he was already gathering. Making the quick hand seals, Yuan raised his right hand and focused on the tips of his fingers. The suiton and raiton chakras mixed pretty well actually, the raiton current running through the suiton fairly easily. Small amounts of "storm" formed at the end of his fingers, and he manipulated the chakra to flow in towards his palm.

Turning, yuan pointed his palm at a tree to his right. The storm projectile fired off towards the tree, hitting it and piercing the bark. The storm splashed, each drop scaring the bark of the tree. Yuan smirked. The storm was indeed powerful, providing the piercing power of raiton in liquid form. This would be incredibly deadly when used correctly.

Training for D-Rank Storm jutsu "Firefly Dance Technique". 1100 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1100-700=400 words required.
Yuan remained in his quiet secluded forest retreat somewhere in Lightening Country. He was training himself to use the Storm style elemental fusion release. It wasn't easy. The style required the use of both suiton and raiton chakra together. Not an easy feat for any shinobi. But Yuan seemed capable. He had the right chakra types, and he could blend them.

The next jutsu he was going to try was known as the "Firefly Dance Technique". It was a fairly simple technique... or at least as simple as techniques could be that involved mixing chakra types. This technique involved channeling the mixed chakra through his palms and forming small orbs which floated above him for a time. He could then send these orbs flying off like projectiles in any direction he chose, using them to attack his enemies. Yuan understood how it worked and thought he could pull it off pretty well. In theory it should be pretty simple, but practice and theory were two different things entirely.

Turning his his attention inward, Yuan once again began drawing on his chakra. Again, he started with his suiton first, because this was the chakra he was most familiar with. But this time, he began drawing on his raiton sooner than the last time. He had to make sure that he could draw on both chakra types at a moment's notice. In battle, he wouldn't have time to draw on one chakra type at a time. In order to use this and other jutsu in battle, he needed to draw on and combine the suiton and raiton as quickly as possible.

He finished drawing the appropriate amount of raiton chakra very quickly after finishing drawing on the suiton, which he had started first. That was good, he was improving. He quickly made the short series of hand seals and began focusing on manipulating the chakra. He channeled the chakra down to his palm, and raised his hands above his head. Pushing the chakra further, he forced it out of his hands and formed it into an orb above his head. Yuan smiled. Things were going well. Continuing to focus on manipulation, Yuan formed another orb, and then another until there were four of the small orbs in total. Glancing up, Yuan studied the orbs for a few moments. It was a little disconcerting having several Orbs of Chakra capable of piercing his flesh floating above his head, but they were under the control of his chakra manipulation, so he supposed it wasn't as dangerous as all that.

Turning his attention to the tree he had last used for target practice, Yuan focused and manipulated his chakra again. One of the destructive orbs was sent flying at the trunk of the tree. The orb struck the tree and blasted a small section of bark off the trunk. It was a small area, about equivalent to the destruction a kunai would do, but still, it was not a negligible amount of damage. Done to the right area, it could definitely take its toll on the target.

Smiling, Yuan manipulated his chakra once more. The other three orbs of storm chakra went flying. They struck the trunks of the three trees lined up to the right of the main target tree. The effect was the same. A small amount of damage, about equal to the damage done by a thrown kunai. But still, a useful amount of damage none-the-less.

Training for C-Rank Storm jutsu "Laser Stream Technique". 1500 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1500-700=800 words required.
Yuan sat once more in his secluded area within one of the countless forests of Lightening Country. He sat, resting and recuperating. He had been doing a lot of training recently and the wear of the combination of training and his usual work routines were taking their toll. It was rough. Yuan was currently the only member of the Kumogakure Black Ops. Patrolling the borders, investigating occurrences in neighboring countries, and other things all fell to him. It was grueling work all on his own.

But never-the-less... He had to continue training to stay above the curve. In his line of work, those who fell below the curve were as good as dead. Turning his focus inward, Yuan began drawing on his suiton and raiton chakras both at once. He had been training himself to use the Storm Style. It was a highly useful ability with countless applications. Focusing, Yuan drew what he felt was a reasonable amount of suiton chakra and then focused on finishing drawing on his raiton chakra. It was becoming a bit of a problem, Yuan was noticing, that his raiton chakra was taking longer to draw on than his suiton. It was only slightly slower, but in battle such a delay could cost valuable seconds.

When he had started training himself in the Storm Style, he had started by drawing on his suiton chakra first, then drawing on his raiton chakra. He had done this because he was more familiar with drawing on his suiton. But perhaps this had been a mistake, because Yuan was fairly certain that this had to do with the lag he was now experiencing drawing on his raiton chakra. Perhaps it would have been better to practice drawing on both chakras at the same time, but it was too late to go back and fix the situation. He'd have to move forward now to sort this out.

Releasing the suiton and raiton chakra he had already built up, Yuan turned his focus inward once again. He focused on his connection to the suiton chakra running through his body and, before drawing on the chakra, he focused on his connection to his raiton chakra as well. Focusing on his chakra, he could feel it running through his body. He had always been interested in the flow of chakra through the body, and as a child, he had been jealous of the urban legends that went around the shinobi world of ninja who had special eye techniques known as doujutsu who could see the chakra flows running through the body. How easy must it have been for them, thought Yuan, to see what they were doing wrong when drawing on their own chakra.

But alas, he didn't have such an ability, and so, he had to picture it in his head and he felt himself trying to manipulate his chakra. Individually, Yuan could draw on his suiton and raiton chakra perfectly fine. His raiton chakra flowed just as quickly as his suiton when he was using a purely raiton technique. It was only when he was drawing on both that his raiton seemed to slow. That suggested to him that it was simply a mental thing.

Focusing inward, Yuan started drawing on his suiton and raiton chakra. He felt the chakras flowing and gathering as he manipulated it, and sure enough, the raiton chakra flowed slower, as always. Pushing himself harder, Yuan focused on his raiton while still drawing his suiton. He pulled more and more raiton forward, while maintaining his suiton drawing at the same speed. It took a few moments, but finally he was satisfied that he was drawing on both chakra types at the same pace.

Turning his attention to the chakra, both suiton and raiton, that he had been gathering. He manipulated the chakra, blending them together into storm chakra. Pushing the chakra into his hand. Storm element began forming in his hand. He had gathered more chakra than he needed for some of the more simple techniques, so, perhaps it was time to try a more advanced technique. The technique he had in mind was the Laser Stream Technique. As he understood it, this technique wasn't so much an attack as it was a defense. As the storm gathered in his hand, Yuan stood. With a quick inquisitive glance at his hand, Yuan suddenly leapt back. As he soared through the air, he swung his arm, hand outstretched, as though he was trying to throw back an oncoming opponent. A bright stream of liquid lightening streamed across the air where his hand passed. It was beautiful, as many deadly things were.

Landing, Yuan caught himself and turned his attention back up to the beam of storm. It was about ten feet long and about as thick as his wrist. Grabbing a stick that was an inch or two thick, Yuan threw the stick up into the stream. The stick struck the beam, and the beam struck back. The beam fluctuated and lashed out, slicing the stick in two. Yuan smirked widely at this. The beam glowed brightly and hung there in the air for a few moments before the chakra dissolved and the beam dissipated. Excellent, truly excellent.

Training for E-Rank Suiton jutsu "Dousing Jet". 800 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 800-700=400 words required.
Yuan stood once more in his secluded little clearing in one of the forests of Lightening Country. This place was fast becoming his favorite place to do his training. It was quiet, secluded, and rather refreshing to be honest. With all the travel he did and the fast pace of his life, he rarely had the time to sit back and enjoy the fresh air and the natural beauty. But even now, he still had work to do.

Turning his focus inward, he began drawing on his suiton chakra. He was working on a simple suiton technique this time. The "Dousing Jet" wasn't very useful as far as jutsu went. It couldn't really be used as an attack or defense in battle, and it didn't really produce enough water to put out any sort of sizeable flame. But, the jutsu was the basis for other, more advanced techniques, so it could prove useful.

Yuan drew his suiton chakra into his chest and gathered it there for a moment. Making a very brief string of hand seals, he inhaled deeply and blew out of his mouth. A jet of water shot out of his mouth. It wasn't very strong, and it didn't go very far. Honestly, the technique wasn't very useful at all, but if it led to the ability to learn more techniques, Yuan would do whatever he needed to.

He could see how the technique could be useful as a practice technique for some of the other suiton technique he knew of. The process of gathering chakra to the chest and expelling it through the mouth was different from releasing chakra through the hand or other body parts. At what point in the technique the chakra formed into water was a very important point. If the chakra changed into actual water in the throat or too far back in the mouth, one ran the risk of actually drowning one's self in their own water. You couldn't inhale during the technique either, which is why the deep breath before launching the technique was essential.

Yuan focused inwards once more, drawing on his suiton chakra again. He pushed it into his chest and gathered it there. Making the quick stream of hand seals once more, he inhaled deeply and then blew hard out of his mouth. The stream of water shot out again. Again, there was little force, and little distance, and the amount was not all that impressive, but there it was. It was the gateway to other things that could be more useful in the future.

Training for C-Rank Suiton jutsu "Imitation Surfing". 1500 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1500-700=800 words required.
Yuan sat, leaning against the trunk of a tree in his favorite spot once again. It was early morning and the sun was rising, but the numerous mountain ranges of Lightening Country blocked the light of the sun from reaching the valley where Yuan was training, so the clearing was lit by several lanterns he had set up during the night. Now, the early morning fog was rolling through the valley and the lamps cast an erie glow around the area. With the sun only just starting to rise, it was still pretty much night time where he was. The fog and the glow from the lamps made it feel like a scene from a horror story, but Yuan didn't mind. He was used to being in places fraught with danger and filled with fear.

He didn't have time for all that right now. He had to focus. Turning his attention inward once more, he started drawing on his suiton chakra. This time he would need more than he had before when he had been learning a lower-level technique. This time he was learning a higher-level technique and it required him to create much more than a mere five gallons of water. The technique Yuan was attempting to learn was the "Imitation Surfing Technique". It was a very useful technique indeed, as it summoned a large amount of fast moving water and used it to to attack the enemy. Not only that, but the user could ride atop the water to close the distance between themselves and the enemy. The technique involved summoning a large amount of water and forming it into a wave with chakra, then having that wave sweep across the battlefield to try and over throw enemies who were unprepared for the wall of water that was about to come crashing down over them. Meanwhile, the user could stand atop the large wave and be ready to attack as soon as the enemy was overtaken by the wave.

A very useful technique indeed, Yuan looked forward to seeing it in action on the battlefield. But first, he had to learn to create and control the technique. He focused on drawing forth more chakra. For a technique like this, a fair amount was needed, and he had been training mostly in lower level techniques thus far. Once he felt that he had gathered enough chakra, Yuan made the appropriate string of hand seals. The jutsu required more hand seals than most of the ones he had been training in before, but Yuan was more than skilled with hand seals, as most shinobi of his rank were, and he sped through them in no time. He pushed the chakra he had gathered into his chest and inhaled deeply. Opening his mouth wide, he lurched forward. Huge amounts of water came pouring out of his wide open mouth, gathering around his feet. More and more poured out, and the water at his feet began to rise. Focusing some chakra into his feet, Yuan used the principals behind the water walking technique to stand atop the rising water.

As the last of the water exited Yuan's gullet, he focused on manipulating his chakra to form the water into the large wave. The water below him sloshed back and forth and then curled upwards into a large rolling wave. The wave was about ten feet high and twenty feet wide. Definitely large enough to mess with some people who weren't expecting it. Alright, time to see about moving this beast. Making a hand seal to help his focus, Yuan started guiding his chakra forward. The wave started moving, and picked up speed quickly. The wave was surprisingly fast actually. Yuan had heard that the speed of the wave depended on the control of the user, and he had pretty good control himself. The wave arced and rolled across the clearing at high speeds, quickly covering the distance from one side to the other. Much quicker than Yuan had been anticipating, actually. The trees on the other side of the clearing were coming on fast. Yuan tried to manipulate his chakra to turn the wave, but nothing happened. It was right about then that he realized that his mentor had never said anything about being able to change the direction of the wave. As the wave slammed into the trees across the clearing from where it had started, Yuan leapt up off the wave and grabbed onto one of the branches hanging above him. Clutching to the branch, he watched as the wave pounded through the trees. The trunks of the trees ripped through the wave, but it reformed, being made of chakra, and kept moving through the thick forest. The trees groaned under the strain of the large quantity of fast moving water. Yuan admired the strength of the wave, but if he had remained atop the water, he would have been slammed against one of those trees. As he hung there, he realized that he was still manipulating the chakra in the wave. Releasing his hold on the chakra, the wave crashed down to the ground, the water pouring outwards over the ground. Dropping from the tree, Yuan brushed himself off. He was happy with the technique, but he would have to be careful about how he used the technique in the future so that he could avoid the same oversight in the future.

Training for B-Rank Suiton jutsu "Water Dragon Projectile". 1800 word count. 6 ninjutsu, 8 wit. 6+8=14*50=700. 1800-700=1100 words required.
Yuan was once again in the small forest clearing that had served as his training stage for the last several days. He was currently between missions and had a couple of days off. It was necessary after some missions for him to go into hiding. He was set up to be a secret member of Kumogakure, and sometimes when he went on a mission, he couldn't just return to the Lightening country and go about business as usual. If he was somehow trailed back to Lightening and foreign shinobi observed him reporting in, then his cover would be blown, and it would be known that his actions would reflect and possibly affect Kumogakure.

During his hiding, he was making the time useful by doing some much-needed training. Currently, he sat cross-legged, eyes closed, focusing on drawing forth his suiton chakra. He had to draw a pretty good amount for this next technique. It was a higher ranking technique than any he had attempted to train in on his own thus far. The technique was the "Water Dragon Projectile" jutsu. It was considered a B-Rank ninjutsu, which was definitely within his range of ability. He already knew a couple of techniques considered B-Rank, and even one or two that were higher. However, learning high-ranking jutsu on one's own was never easy.

For a high ranking jutsu like this, it was important to make sure that one drew forth the correct amount of chakra. Quite a bit of precise chakra manipulation was needed, and so one couldn't have too much or too little chakra, otherwise the jutsu could collapse. This particular technique required that the user create a large amount of water, manipulate it into the shape of a long serpentine dragon complete with fanged head, and then manipulate the chakra to send the projectile flying at the target. The technique could even have its direction of travel changed mid-flight. All of that took a lot of precise control.

Yuan continued focusing, drawing on his suiton chakra slowly. He wanted to make sure he was very precise this first time around so that in the future he could recall the feeling of this time and use that marker to speed up the process when he used the technique in battle, and didn't have time to spend carefully gathering chakra. Yuan felt his chakra gathering slowly, like a gauge. Once the gauge had reached what he believed to be the correct level, He stood and prepared to attempt to cast the jutsu for the first time. It was always a little nerve racking trying to perform the jutsu for the first time. Yuan had been a shinobi for a long time and he had measurable skill, so he was usually able to perform the jutsu correctly, even on the first try... But it had been a while since he had taught himself a high level jutsu like this, and he had gotten techniques messed up before.

Yuan quickly started making hand seals. This jutsu required more hand seals than any that Yuan had been training in thus far. Even with his skilled, flawless motions, it took him a second to get through the chain of seals. As he completed the chain, he inhaled deeply. Leaning forward, he faced forward instead of down like with the Imitation Surfing technique. This time the water wasn't going to be gathering at his feet, but rather, shooting forward and molding itself into a rather dangerous form. Yuan opened his mouth wide and water began gushing out of his mouth.

The water that Yuan spit forth rushed forward, expanding quickly as it poured forth from his mouth. The water spiraled and crashed inward upon itself for a second and then began forming into the head of a long serpentine dragon. The head thrashed as though it were alive, gnashing its long watery fangs. As the massive amount of water finished pouring from Yuan's mouth, the dragon suddenly shot forward, the water elongating into a long serpentine body. The dragon continued forward, rushing ahead like a raging river. It came in contact with a small tree and snapped it in half with its sharp fangs and rushing power.

Yuan held a seal with one hand and willed the dragon to change direction by manipulating his chakra. The dragon curved around the trunk of a large tree, angling off to the right. It snapped through another young tree as it continued on its destructive course. Yuan manipulated his chakra again, willing the dragon to go left around another tree. The dragon complied turning to the left around the desired tree. The dragon was fast approaching a large mound of earth. A hill, though it was a bit generous to call it that. Yuan manipulated his chakra again and the dragon arced up over the hill.

Yuan was enjoying himself entirely too much, but he could tell that the jutsu was reaching its limit. Deciding to end it with a bang and see the destructive power that the technique possessed, Yuan chose a large, thick tree. The tree was old, the trunk large. The dragon headed straight for the unfortunate tree. As the dragon reached the tree it opened its mouth wide. Baring its long fangs and turning onto its side, the dragon's bite came crashing down straight into the trunk of the tree. The trunk exploded as the fangs of the dragon broke through it, and the ragind water that made up the head and the body came crashing into that one point, blasting away a huge chunk of the wood. The water splashed outwards and dispersed, soaking the surrounding land and trees. The tree had what looked like a huge bite taken out of it. The crescent shaped bite reached halfway into the body of the tree, and slowly, with much creaking and groaning, the remaining half of the tree's trunk that had remained intact buckled and snapped, and with a mighty crash, the tree came falling down, causing a massive thud which shook the earth, all the way back where Yuan was standing.

Yuan was stunned. This was indeed an incredibly powerful technique. It was beyond belief how useful such a technique would be in the future. Yuan had often worried that he did not possess enough actual strength in his ninjutsu. This would aid him immensely in putting this concern to rest. Turning his focus inward, Yuan paid close mind to his chakra. Most notably to the feel of the levels of chakra he had gathered to cast the jutsu. He focused hard, committing to memory the feeling of gathering the chakra so that he would be able to do it virtually instantly in the future. He had it down now. The jutsu was officially added to his arsenal. Yuan smirked. This time off had been more productive than he had dared to hope.
