[Ace Trainer]

It was a dark and gloomy day. Thunder clouds rolled in the horizon, blocking out the sun in the distance. Occasionally, a roll of thunder could be heard far off. The path was through a forest, and just in the distance, you'd be able to see the two large, round-ish boulder trolls you had been told to get rid of. They looked like rocks from a distance. You'd have to get up close to make out any true detail.

[Kashu]

So, this was his mission. To simply see what some trolls were doing here and get them to leave. What was he, a bouncer for some club? The young genin only had a small backpack containing lunch and a water bottle, as that was all he thought was important. It had not been long, walking on that dark path, until he came to where the creatures were said to be. Their trail wasn't too hard to follow for any ninja with half a brain.

Within a few minutes, he came up to them, keeping his distance just in case. This was his first time seeing creatures like this, so it was sort of strange. "Evenin', neighbors. Might I ask what you are doing here?" Said as boldly an friendly as possible. Playing nice was usually the best option in any circumstance, Sarin had found out long ago. Hopefully, this could be settled quickly; he had training to do.

The boulder trolls really did just seem like giant rocks. They had moss on their apparent back, and the hair on their arms looked a lot like grass. As he spoke to then, they shifted with a giant rumble and scratch as their skin rubbed against itself. Suddenly, they were standing full height. They had enormous noses and tiny eyes. Their teeth were horribly mishapen, and their palm was probably about as big as Sarin's head. The one closest to Sarin looked at him, before finally speaking.

His voice was thick, low, and seemed ot make the ground shake. "We were just resting."

[Kashu]

The boy looked up, cocking his head as they covered the skyline, it seemed. The creatures, stout as they were, completely dominated him in size. He didn't think the difference would be this great; his head would be like a small fruit in their hands. Obviously, they were powerful. Sarin could just feel it. If things did get dirty, his only bet was to outrun them; nothing he had could stand up to a blow from them.

"Resting? Were you traveling somewhere?" The genin asked, looking between the two stone-like creatures. Such a strange sight they were; nothing like he had expected. "I thought trolls didn't like to move around to much. Is that wrong?"

The other took a step forward, from the sound of her voice, which was slightly higher than the other (though it was still extremely deep), this one was a woman. "Not at all. We sleep for years, on occasion.", she said. It was surprising how coherent and understanding they were, considering how monstrous they looked.

[Kashu]

Sarin could sleep for day, but, "Years? Wow, that's a long time." He should have brought a camera along to take a picture for the occasion. The creatures were a strange sight, and still unsettling due to their size. "So, would you mind leaving, please? We have nothing against you; you're just too close to the path, and it would scare business away." That should be about right. It didn't matter if boulder trolls were near the village, if he recalled. They just couldn't be too close to the path. So, moving them a little while up the mountain would be the best solution for everyone.

[Ace Trainer]

The boulder trolls looked at each other (which, due to a lack of neck, required them each taking a step towards each other to make eye contact), then looked back at Sarin (requiring them to undo the action they had just made) They blinked their tiny eyes, unsure of how to process this information. "Scared? Of us? What for?", it seemed they couldn't fathom what was so scary about them.

[Kashu]

"Well, people are scared of strange things. And big things. You're both of those." Sarin put it simply. Normal people didn't like large objects that looked like they could crush you with ease. It was unsettling, even in a place in the mountains where boulders were everywhere. Sure, normal ninja might not mind, but villagers would be terrified to leave. "Can you understand? If you were my size, and I was as big as you, you'd probably be scared of me too."

[Ace Trainer]

They both shook their heads, which, again, consisted of just shaking their entire upper bodies. "Boulder trolls fear nothing. We have our reasons for resting here. Perhaps you should be investigating that?", the male suggested. This was true, Sarin had made no attempt to find out why they were there. He just tried to get rid of them. Ruuuude.

[Kashu]

I did ask. The boy thought, looking at first at the male, then the female. "Okay then. What are your reasons, folks? Anything I can help with? He asked, preparing on some long search mission for a random object that was taken from them or something like that. That's how the stories usually played out. Of course, their home being taken over was also just as valid a reason, but who would steal from boulder trolls anyways?
