Laughter is the cure

Hayasu nodded to the nursing staff, eyeing the top of the hospital. Due to the war, every able bodied man, woman, and shinobi had been called to fight. This left quite a lot of work and assistance needed by what civilians had to remain, and when Hayasu was on rest orders, he didn't mind assisting those in need.

He leapt from the ground level and ran up the side of the building with acable in hand. As he fed it up to the roof, heflipping over and skidding to a halt. He kept a firm grip and ran it up to the proper attachment along a generator, feeding power to emergency life support systems specifically for the pediatrics ward. After securing he, he flipped the current on after removing his hand, hearing the faint hum of electricity as power was circulated. He headed over to the side and looked down at some of the staff. "Check it now! The cable was probably just bad!" Hayasu called out.

A few moments later, a nurse gave him a thumbs up, to which Hayasu grinned and gave one back before leaping from the roof and slamming into the ground with a loud THUM! "Great! Let's check on the little ones." Hayasu said, Kureiji peaking out from his back and checking around.

He headed inside to the pediatrics area, watching as the fresh cable properly powered the necessary machinery, various children giggling and cheering when they saw Hayasu. "ALRIIIIGHT! WHO'S READY TO HAVE SOME FUN AND LIGHTEN THE MOOD!" Hayasu grinned, as what children could limped, walked and dove onto him happily. He grinned and tossed a few in the air, chasing a few around. The man was an utter giant amongst them, but it wasnt about appearance, it was demeanor.

He noted a kid over to the corner, sitting in his wheelchair looking rather glum. He raised an eye and whispered to Kureiji, who nodded and whooped excitedly before diving off of him and climbing into the kids lap, clapping excitedly and dancing like an idiot.

The child didn't pay too much care at first, but eventually Kureiji managed to make him smile, much to Hayasu's delight. "Awesome! Nobody is left out when Hayasu is here!" He grinned, gently picking the kid up and letting him sit on his shoulders, riding around as the kid clung to his ghostly white hair, many others laughing and demanding his attention.

Eiko yawned as she stumbled sleepily into the hallway, having been asleep until just then but she had been awoken by a loud noise. It sounded like voices coming from the pediatric area. Groping along the wall for support as she was far too sleepy to find her way around otherwise, she very slowly made her way there. They sound like they're having a lot of fun.. she thought to herself, being able to more clearly hear what was going on as she got closer. Once she was positive that she was in the proper area she leaned against the wall for support, unable to help another yawn even as her head tilted slightly to the side. She was admittedly curious about what was going on.

As if on cue, she suddenly heard a woman's voice right beside her, a woman with long brown hair standing there. "I see that Hayasu is here again, it seems that the kids really love when he comes to entertain them. It's really a shame that you can't actually see this spectacle." the woman, that from voice alone Eiko recognized as Iko, spoke.. and Eiko was positive that the woman had a big grin on her face. Her doctor had a soft spot for children herself so she was positive that it filled her with joy to see them so happy.

"They do seem to be enjoying the company. It's not very often that you see these kids in such a good mood with their situations." she replied as she continued to watch, well more listen while looking towards it, the event unfolding before her. She was admittedly curious about how things would unfold from here, so instead of going back to bed she would just stay and listen in.

Hayasu skipped, skidded and hopped along on one foot, kids clung to him like a jungle gym. "ACK! Be careful guys, I don't want to accidentally hurt you!" Hayasu said, clearly a tad overwhelmed as he tried to manuever down the hallway as a pile of children laughed, snickered, and attempted to bring him down. Submitting to their will, he barely managed to collapse to one knee before he was tackled to the ground and dogpiled on. Gasping playfully, he looked over at the two women. "OH THE HUMANITY! PLEASE LADIES, HELP ME BEFORE THEY KILL ME!" Hayasu called out playfully. the children all chanting and hugging him. Even Kureiji managed to wriggle free and pounce over to the doctor, whooping excitedly as Hayasu was buried alive. Granted, in a heartbeat he could easily escape and peel off of them, but these were sick children. And Hayasu had always had a soft spot for the suffering, especially those that didn't deserve it.

Before long, a few kids ran over to the women and tugged at them, wanting to play as well.

Eiko simply tilted her head to the side, unsure of the situation and what it was that she was supposed to do. From the laughter and the tugging on her skirt she assumed that it was likely that the kids wanted her to play with them. Frankly, the thought made her a bit nervous, as she hadn't grown entirely accustomed to her blindness just yet and she was worried about getting in the way and possibly hurting someone, the one thing that she would never intenionally do to anyone, unless they deserved it of course.

Sensing her dilemma, Iko leaned over and whispered in her ear. "Don't worry about it, this is an opportunity so just relax and have some fun for the time being. This should actually help you out in the long run." the woman quietly spoke to her, patting her shoulder and making her own way towards the group.

Resisting the urge to sigh, Eiko simply nodded and let herself be tugged towards the group, still a bit nervous but willing to at least try to do what she could.

Laughter is the cure

The kids all graciously cheered, some of them stampeding over to Eiko and beginning to play with her. They were all just happy to be out of bed and have someone besides their parents to see them. Kureiji leaped from head to head of each child, finally planting himself on Eiko's shoulder and helping to navigate her a bit safely through the swarm of children. It appeared Kureiji could tell, but unfortunately for Hayasu at this point, he was now on his back in one of the play areas.

The children continued their merciless assault, dogpiling him as best as they could before he mightily (albeit quite gently) managed to rise up, children hanging off him from every limb as he comically roared. The little ones all squealed with laughter as he stampeded around after them, no child's sides safe from the intense tickling he did. A counter assault was eventually deployed, as eventually they retaliated by taking him back down at the knees. Hayasu laughed hysterically as he fell back over to once again be dog piled and attacked.

On the other hand, the children began to tug at Eiko and giggle. "What's your name! This big oaf is Hayasu, he's a giant dumb head but he's such a blast to play with us. Are you a shinobi? Why are you here at the hospital!" A few asked, the frantic and playful cries for help growing as Hayasu did his best to fend off the tide. Kureiji whooped and chuckled over at Hayasu. Although it was clear Eiko could not see him, the roars of laughter would lighten anyone's heart.
