[Mission] The Green Mile

Post by Taiga » Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:09 pm

One of the mountain top which Kumogakure sat upon was actually an artificial mountain top, a feat of engineering not seen anywhere else within the world. Within was a cavern that held an artificially create biome and Kumogakure's only park. At it's center a giant black steel spire which gave off an electric pulse showering the cavern in an ethereal light. This was the monument to the strength of Kumogakure's people, a symbol of their everlasting spark, and the office of the village's leader, the Raikage.

Today was special- well, relatively. Well not actually, for you see, the life of a shinobi was a life of very little rest. Today the shinobi of Kumogakure who were not already currently assigned missions would stand before their Lord Raikage and his panel of Jounin for the assignment of their next mission. Based on their ranks and skill sets, the panel would field the most appropriate mission to the team before them. For the most part it wouldn't be the most exciting day for the panel but it was an essential process for the village to continue operating smoothly.

The sound of bells and clock work announced the time to the whole village.

1 O'Clock Hayate thought as he released a long and drawn out yawn, his hand instinctively rising to his mouth to cover it. To his left sat two Jounin. Both wore pretty much the typical outfit. The taller of the two, Tatsuyuki wore sun glasses, and seemingly had a cool expression. He was an extremely strong strategist. To his side was Kenta, who on the other hand had wide open eyes- nearly owl like and giving off serious vibes at all times. Kenta was known for his extremely strong taijutsu. To Hayate's other side was two women Kaoru and Yin. Both seemingly never made eye contact... rumour had it they had beef over some man. Yin was a skilled Genjutsu user and Kaoru... Kaoru worked in the academy, so she knew the younger generations well.

Regardless, the entire panel worked to create a consensus on what mission to give to who with extreme efficiency.

First up today would be a young man, Sanda Kota.

It had been a while since Kota had come into the Raikage’s Office and it was always a site to see when passing through the artificial mountain. A true genius creation from the greatest minds and Shinobi in the Village. None the less, he was not here for the view, he was here for his Mission. Something he was always fond of and would do his best to succeed. Not only for himself but to make his father proud.

It was 1 O’Clock and the pale Shinobi was up first to receive his mission. Entering the the Raikage’s Office, his eyes quickly noticed all five people who stood before him, some familiar and some not so much. Firstly was Kaoru, he remembered her from his days at the Academy, she was quite popular there. The only other person who Kota could recognize was the great 9th Raikage himself, Nakajima, Hayat. At a first glance the young Chuunin and the Raikage had some similarities in appearance. Both Green eyes, and very light hair, one silver and one almost cream like. He was a man that the boy would strive to be one day. A great and powerful leader. Coming to a halt before those in front of him. He Gave of a small respectful bow before his mighty leader and his chosen Panel

Greetings Lord 9th Raikage" he spoke as he rose his head. A small smile on his face as the thin boy awaited to hear his mission. He kept his excitement inside him as best he could. It ws a place full of respect and he did not wish to come across in the wrong way.

The Raikage smiled warmly in response to the boy. He was Sanda, Kota. Young but already quite a good shinobi, Kaoru had filled him in on the boys various strengths. The boy was fast and an expert in Ninjutsu and projectile techniques. For such a young age, he had already shown himself to be a shrewd tactician capable of getting the drop on opponents. This was precisely why he had been chosen for the mission which the Raikage held in his hands. Clearing his voice, he stood from the table and walked over to the young boy, handing him the scroll and patting him on the back before returning to his chair.

"Please take a moment to read. This is a dangerous mission, and I want you to thoroughly understand what you're going to do before I give you a pep talk that will sway your decision." he said with a chuckle. The scroll, when opened would be written in what would be recognizably Kaoru's handwriting.

Escort of Prisoner 136
C-Rank Mission
Recommend H: 1-2 Shinobi *Smallest possible team recommended to avoid attention.

If that right there was not enough to alarm the young shinobi, Hayate would be shocked. He knew this was dangerous, but he felt the way to grow his younger generation was to trust them.

Prisoner 136, known as Sergeant Chief of Joji the Kusakabe force is quite a difficult prisoner. He will cause trouble, but he is meant to be treated with the utmost respect as according to the Lightning Country accords and Kumogakure philosophies. Joji once commanded a great deal of men... which made his betrayal of the Kuskabe forces and his information leak to Kumogakure that much more... painful. Quite a few survivors of the war would like to see him dead, potentially on both sides of the aisles. As such, transport is to be covert as possible.

Your end goal is the province directly to the north to a secret Black OPS outpost that will be working with Joji to reassign him to a new life. Failure to protect Joji, who was once our prisoner and ally, would be a grave dishonor.

When the boy would look up from reading, he would speak again.

"We want brains for this mission- or someone quick. Brauns were a bit lower on the list, Kota."

Scroll in hand, the boy looked over the words that were written before him. He could recognize the writing in an instant, but this was of little importance to him now. A shift in his eyebrows tried to go unnoticed as he read further down the scroll, especially at the name ‘Sergeant Chief Joji’. Kota had some knowledge of the actions he had committed during the war and stories of things he may or may not have done. For the most part a great deal of it was speculation, but one thing was clear. He was a Commanding officer at one point, which was not to be taken lightly. He finished reading the details of the scroll and looked up at the Raikage.

Thank you for choosing such a mission for me Lord 9th .” He smiled. Knowing this was a dangerous Mission and could only be an act of great trust from the Raikage. “Yes, a good and fast executed plan would work well at getting him out unnoticed. How would you like me to proceed?” He closed the scroll already committing all the information to his memory.

Already his mind was trying to calculate a way in which he could bring about the quickest and best plan for getting the man to the Secret Black OPS base, but for the most part it all depended on how cooperative the prisoner was. Something only time will tell. Secondly to him, he felt privileged that he was being trusted to head towards one of the Secret Black OPS facilities. Something he had never done before and he could only assume not everyone gets to head there.

The Raikage sat back in his chair and raised his hands. His eyes locked on the boy before him one final time. He was not sure if this was really the right decision to make- and every second that passed his "cool exterior" he was trying to show was slipping. The truth was, as a father and former academy teacher, the man was very worried. He was worried something bad would happen... but, as time had taught him, to be a good leader was to put faith in your subordinates.

"You will proceed by going to the supply ware house to get what you need for the journey and disguises. We have prepared a set of disguises. After that, you will rendevouz with the prisoner at a local in then head out together under the guises of an uncle and nephew, who arrived in Kumo a few days ago and is now setting off for your next business trip." he paused.

"He's an asshole, kid. I'll warn you now. Going directly against him won't get you far."

He was referring to Joji, of course.

Kota listened to the words carefully that the Raikage spoke. It was a steady plan, nothing that would otherwise likely give away who the Prisoner was. Unless they crossed paths with someone who knew him directly. Although time had passed, some wounds cannot be healed so simply with time alone. People like retribution, that was just human nature.

“I see Lord 9th I will make sure I do my best. Now as you mentioned time is a key factor, so I better not waste any more.” The Young Chuunin made a respectful bow before he turned and left the office. He needed to make sure that the trust they had out in him was woth it.

Right time to get supplies and plans in order. He thought as he headed back out the way he had come in. The supply warehouse wasn’t too far away, and it wouldn’t take too long at all for him to arrive. Everyting he needs for the highest chance of success will be inside. Realistically he needed to try and think of a method or way to keep the Prisoner inline. As the Raikage had said, he was a bit of an Asshole. At the same time he also demanded respect, so Kota could not treat him like an unworthy person that some may see him as. It was going to be a tough one for him to control.

Other supplies he needed might have been those on the less lethal kind. If anything were to kick off with the Prisoner, or even the people from his own country, he did not want bloodshed. I mean he had various Jutsu which he could use to defuse situations and his own wits, but if it came down to serious business, he needed one or two things more. Smoke bombs or some knock out gas would be ideal but either way with whatever they had for him would be good enough.

Kota carried on heading toward the warehouse. He had been there many times before and knew its location like most of the village around him. If he didn't what kind of Shinobi would he be?

With the dismissal to carry out the will of the village and of the 9th Raikage, the boy would be off. In terms of gathering supplies, he would not have very much trouble collecting them at all. Well, relatively. Amongst the well-to-do shinobi, Shio the Warehouse Keeper was perhaps the wellest-to-do. Despite having gone to the academy, Shio had come from a family of shrewd accountants and it showed. Abysmally useless in combat, his main strength was his always calculating mind. Unfortunately, Shio was sometimes over serious... to say the least if Shio was working the day when you showed up to acquisition equipment you were already off to a bad start.

When the boy arrived, Shio would be standing at the desk. It was unlikely he would know of the famed Shio, given generally a team leader or experience shinobi was in charge of resource acquisition, if he did however, he'd notice the skinny tall man with dark hair and glasses, peering down at him as if he was judging his every ounce of being.

"Yes?" the judgemental man called to the boy.
