The Raikages 4 Limbs

Tsukiko needed to become more powerful if she was truly to live up to her reputation as the Raikage's left arm. She also couldn't stand the idea of being a weaker swordsmen than Sara or worse at Ninjutsu than Ayana. Her truly competitive spirit just wouldn't let that be the case. For this reason, Tsukiko had taken it upon herself to wake up early that day and really hit the gym. She would need to be slightly faster to be a better sword combatant, but in order to get that speed, she would need to work on strengthening her core and legs. This, luckily, was not something that would be all that difficult. She stared with her stretching, making sure to warm up her muscles and keep them limber before getting into any kind of work that would strain them too much. Injuries only stopped progress. She'd bend over and touch her toes then alternate between each, stretching the muscles in her legs and core. She'd sit in a butterfly style as she warmed her thichs and hips and groin muscles. And finally, she'd stretch her arms and back, before loosening up and moving in ways such that her body would be primed. When that was finished, she would go onto a a short 5 minute jog. Taking the speed up she would make laps around the gymnasium, though making sure not to go anywhere near fast enough to hit a sprint. When she had primed her lungs and body and over all prepared herself, she would get going onto the bits that really mattered: strengthening up her legs and core. TO start with, she would go into squats. Ah- squats. The beloved squats.

She'd take it easy of course to start using only her body weight. Before long however she'd begin to squat weights increasing the strength and getting her work out fully in before finally taking a pause. Having hit her capacity she would need to relax. After enough relaxment, she would use a machine that had her laying down- a leg press machine. With all her might she would push and push and push with her legs, moving the weight up and down. IT was not easy task, but it was an entirely necessary one in order to ensure good leg strength. Before long, she would begin to feel the burn and then the exhaustion wipeover her, going until failure. Her legs felt like jello after that, but it was good progress. Next she would move to do calfraises, carefully hanging herself off the edge as she levitated her body up and down on the balls of her feet, theimmense weight pushing down on her shoulders. It wasn't necessarily easy or efficient but it did give her a great deal of strength and doing enough of this would give her powerful legs for bursting and accelerating quickly. Having reached her edge here, she would pause, getting a drink of water, and then relaxing in a chair for a while.

When she got back to it, she'd go at it more intensely repeating all the workouts she had just done again. Tsukiko paused as her muscles became sore from her intense workout. She wanted to stop but she knew she was a shinobi in a ninja world where life or death related to her speed. If she wanted to run faster, move faster, and strike faster she knew she had to push herself to the limit. Her mind moved back to when she was young and a fresh Genin, her sensei was hounding her.

"Tsukiko, you need to build up your leg muscles and your technique. You need to master springing up and jumping down with your own two feet. You need to master how to move in the air and you need to work on how to move and strike without having to get a running start."

Hpmh Snapping back to reality, as Tsukiko continued to do situps and the burn increased she could feel all her muscles firing. This was the body she would build- and through building her body she would grow her speed and power. She was determined to continue her work out and push so that she could become faster.

A few minutes later she started to feel her stomach muscles stabbing her with pain and she knew she had to stop. She was in no condition to continue. She felt her body relax and she lay on the floor, taking deep breaths and allowing herself to calm down. After a few minutes she sat up, her stomach still killing her.

Tsukiko looked at the clock and saw that she had only been working out for about an hour. She had planned to work out for two hours, but her stomach was telling her otherwise. She got up, feeling a little unsteady on her feet, and made her way to the rest area. She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and chugged it down. She'd done enough muscle stuff for the day and all that was left was to run home.

Tsukiko ran at top speed out of th egym and onto the town blazing past others. She was pushing herself to be the faster shinob the streets had ever seen... at least for that day. She felt exhilarated. Her mind was free from her normal, dark thoughts. When she ran, she felt like she could fly. It was a feeling she craved and wanted to keep forever. And gradually, her times would improve as she gained the strength and speed to do so. Yes, this was what it meant to be a fast shinobi.

Tsukiko would finish her run and arrive home just in time to avoid the rain storm that had rolled in. She'd threw herself on her floor, turning the air conditioning on, and lsy there, collapsed in exhaustion.

"That was a solid workout" she thought to herself as her eyes closed. not bad at all.

1000/1000 for speed +1

The Raikages 4 Limbs

Post by Taiga » Sat Jul 09, 2022 5:54 pm

The clouds parted momentarily to allow the dawning sun to tinge the village a brilliant orange. The snow slowly melted in the morning light, the small dusting from the night before soon evaporating. Kumogakure was peaceful at this time of the morning, with all citizens sleeping soundly in their beds. The watchmen preparing to change shifts with the dawn. At the base of the mountains, roosters heralded the morning with their regular call. Tsukiko was fast asleep in her bed at her family's apartment, located relatively close to the Raikage's tower.

The awakened birds flitted between the trees and down the mountain. They circled slowly over the lake, diving gracefully into brief contact with the water to drink and bathe. Their joyous chirping stirred the inhabitants of the village, giving a peaceful sound only to be crushed by a piercing shriek, that shattered the dawn itself. Before long, the village was encompassed in all-consuming darkness. Voices wailed and screamed into the air, but none of them were strictly human. Fear and despair was everywhere. The orange of the dawn had been completely erased, the chirping birds were quickly killed by panic and the calm comfort of sleep was now impossible. Despite how they ran, the small monkeys, squirrels and other animals could not escape the sphere of nightmarish darkness. Kumogakure had been separated from the world.

Panic set in on the village.

In the midst of this all, a young girl awoke in her bed, frightened, only to be treated by her father who held her tightly.

"It's going to be okay, Tsukiko. Mother and the others will protect us." he said as his wife hurriedly retrieved her flak jacket, tools, and prepared for battle. Their village was under attack. Terrified, she kissed her husband goodbye and ordered the pair to stay safe. To hide under the stairs and away from the windows. Frightened, her husband complied but did his best to steel himself before his daughter. He was but a merchant and stood no match to the world of shinobi. Before long light-filled the village once more as the Raikage deployed to action. Explosions filled the air as a fight ensued. Uriko lept a top the roofs racing for her Raikage- she was an elite Jounin and member of the Ishiguro clan. In times like this, she was the secret weapon. Suddenly a violent blast of darkness hit the rooftop she was on sending her flying to the side, but narrowly managing to dodge the direct hit.

That's the Raikage's Roar of a Thousa- she exhaled. Only in time to leap off the roof top as another explosion rocked the mountain top. Before she could consider the implications of the Raikage resorting to one of his most powerful moves, the mountain tops shattered and the roof tops kerploded as tiles became shuriken, and those shuriken ripped right through Uriko ending her life before she could even join the fight. The longest morning of Kumogakure history had begun. Meanwhile, a young Tsukiko clutched to her father as the horrifying sounds of explosions shook the whole village. The sound of lightning- but of twisted calibre piercing through the thick stone walls with each blast.... until finally, a massive explosion rocked the village.

Tsukiko cried out as her father threw himself over her, the roof of their building collapsing. He protected her with his body, though most of all the stair's structural integrity kept them safe. When the dust settled and their ears stopped ringing it was clear they were trapped beneath the stone. Her father sobbed as he held his girl.
Nakajima Hayate was exhausted and injured but it was no time to wait. They needed to rescue every last villager they could- to make their way through the wreckage and salvage any sign of life they could. Tirelessly along with the others they worked, Hayate carefully pouring his energy into the world around them to use his newfound sensory in order to search for life. His head began to pound but fighting against it he focused- he could hear something feint. It was the breathing of a child... and maybe an adult. But with every moment their breaths grew more faint.

"Over here!" he shouted as doton experts came over and they began to excavate the life signs. Had they been too late?
Beneath the rouble light suddenly began to appear. It was thin beams of light that's shot in through holes barely millimeter in diameter, but the light was something incredible. Tsukiko's crying stopped as her father looked up. They would be saved. Slowly the cracks and holes expanded until more and more light found its way in filling the tomb they'd of otherwise been stuck in and illuminating it with raw hope. Finally, a large opening was made flooding the area with such light that both Tsukiko and her father became blind. And, as their eyes began to adjust and they looked out they were greeted by a hand and a man, basked in light.

Nakajima Hayate.

The Jounin's hand was soft but coarse. Tsukiko gripped it as she hung on and he pulled her free, her father helping to raise her up from their pit of despair so the jounin could get her. Her face flushed, she was overwhelmed by the man who she had seen as her savior. Medical attention soon followed, but all the while, Tsukiko couldn't keep her eyes off the man who had bee their hero... until she realized something.

"I want mama!" she said as her fathers eyes sank for he knew the truth- his wife had died in one of the blasts, likely the one that had collapsed their section of the compound. But, how did one tell a child that?
5 years later...

The sound of a bell rang as Tsukiko stooped in front of a shrine. Upon the elaborate shrine was an urn, and a photo of her mother. She rubbed her hands together as she prayed, "I'm going out mom- please watch over me" and rung the bell once more before leaving to the genkan of her house. Putting on her shinobi slippers and checking over her equipment bags one last time, she was interrupted by her father who placed his hand on her head and scrunched up her hair.

"She'd be so proud of you- you're just like her." he said as he watched his daughter stand up and fix her hair, almost ignoring her father. She would reply with nothing more than a wink, to which they both meant it meant.

"I know."

Tsukiko had become a shinobi like her mother, and like her idol, Lord Ninth. Today she would serve him along with her genin squad. The country had just emerged from a civil war and it was attempting to create a railway- though some who opposed it and the new regime were attacking the rail workers. Tsukiko and her squad would be deployed to provide defense and dismantle any traps that may be set by missing ninja using EMP. She'd do her mission with the utmost accuracy- after all Hayate had handed her the scroll himself....

3 years later

Hayate straightened his hat as he reached the doorstep of a candidates- he had met the girl vaguely when she was young as far as he could remember. Where or how or what was not really in his mind, but instead that this girl had grown to be an extraordinary shinobi. He would, today, grant her the rank of Jounin and extend an offer for her to join his body guards. Not shortly after ringing the doorbell did the door swing open with excitement.

Tsukiko looked at the Raikage and before he could even ask, she would respond:

"YES!"

Following that, the two would talk for hours. It would seem that some of the other members had mentioned that he was interested in Tsukiko joining the group and spilled his surprise, but in the end, it worked out. The social capital Hayate had built in defending Kumogakure and rescuing Tsukiko and many others was enough to get her on his side.
