The sound of water slowly halting was heard followed by footsteps of a young lad dressed in a self forged rain suit out of leaf and stems. The young boy was about 8 years old, and pale skin. His head hovered over the lake, looking at the self, before then squatting and facing east of Lightning Empire.

"Long way from home," said the child to his self. The boy had recently transferred from homeschooling as his mother was busy attending to a family business, she did not have the time to teach him any longer.

The young boy stood up when the sound of footsteps was heard, and even turned to face where the sound was coming from.

The area was surrounded by trees, except around 9 meters of the parameters of the lake. The particular set of trees closest to he was cherry trees, although they were different variety of trees around.

As he waited, the sound of constant movement was heard from the tree's hair's, as well as from bushes around the trees and scattered through out the demostic.

A mission for two genin. Hanako was told she was the more experienced for the two, which made her wonder about the success of this particular mission. Still, it was about time she stopped being the woobie and grew up a little bit. Despite her own challenges she would do her best to be a good example for the boy. It was about time for the mission to start. They were supposed to meet by the lake, both genin and even the archeologist that they were going to be escorting to the recently discovered Lightning temple. As Hanako made her way over to the lake she found that she wasn’t the first one here. A boy, silver hair and slightly taller than her was already examining the lake and the cherry trees that decorated the area. It was very scenic but Hanako had lived a life of a shinobi and so the trees became places that hid threats. She didn’t like it very much, but it did allow her to slip near to the lake seemingly un-noticed. She approached the silver boy - examining him to make sure he matched the description of her squadmate. She decided that he did.

”Ishiguro, Hayai Ishinokyoso.” She stated. Hanako wore a blank expression. She was several years this young boy’s senior, and yet he had already become taller than her, but her body was much more developed. She had the shapeliness of a woman with sculpted toned muscle building her body into that of one who was clearly a practitioner of the Taijutsu arts. Her hands were covered in bandages and she wore a long sleeve crop top. Long pants tucked into bandages at her shins which in turn fed into shinobi sandals. She had a shuriken holster on her left thigh and a pouch on her hip. Hidden beneath the bandages on her hands and wrists were seals wherein her ample equipment was stored. She ran a hand through her fluffy hair as she looked over the boy’s preparation.

He looked lanky and small. It seemed he had gained his height before the rest of his body could catch up to him. She hoped it didn’t affect his growth in the future. Hanako was about to open her lips and give a rather blatant remark but caught herself. She thought back to the late Chiaki and considered how the woman might handle a new charge. Everyone had flaws, and she knew the Raikage didn’t seem to approve of what Chiaki had done in mentoring Hanako, but the way that Chiaki had been - gentle and kind… She had a lot of good qualities in Hanako’s opinion. Matronly. It was only a shame that the woman’s life had ended before it could really begin. A waste. ”Do you have everything you need? This trip may take several days.Provisions and clothing for the weather…” She noticed just now that he was wearing a rain suit made out of… leaf stems. ”This material doesn’t look very sturdy.” She reached out a hand and attempted to pinch a part of the leaf suit between her fingers.

She was checking for durability to the elements, as well as for insulation. Even if it kept the water off, would it keep the young boy warm? It would have taken some time for him

”Ishiguro, Hayai Ishinokyoso.” She stated. The teenager had found to catch him a bit off guard as Hanako spoke from his front. She wore a blank expression. She was shorter than the young boy. She had the shapeliness of a woman with sculpted toned muscle building her body into that of one who was clearly a practitioner of the Taijutsu arts. The physique and muscle was shrouded by the clothing she adorned, and her hands were covered in bandages as she wore a long sleeve crop top. Hanako's long pants tucked into bandages at her shins which in turn slipped into the shinobi sandals. The young teen had a shuriken holster on her left thigh and a pouch on her hip. Hanako ran a hand through her fluffy hair as she looked over the Ha, he was examining her at the moment eyes locked onto her figure from when she spoke.

Hanako was about to open her lips when Ha was listening sincerely, ”Do you have everything you need?" She said, and Ha opened his mouth to speak but she continued, and he listened," This trip may take several days.Provisions and clothing for the weather…” Ha nodded, and then turned to point at the water. She began to examin Ha and she noticed just now that Hayai was wearing a rain suit made out of leaf stems. ”This material doesn’t look very sturdy.” She said aloud, then she reached out a hand and attempted to pinch a part of the leaf suit between her fingers. When she did, the suit looked durable enough to withstand at least the small tug she performed.

Hayai then squatted and pointed at the tree's leafs. He began to motion noise with his hand as they swayed left to right, "I think one in trees," the boy spoke. Afted that happened, he started jogging in place before halting and saluting the woman. "ང་གྲ་སྒྲིག་དང་ཤེས་ཚུགསཔ་ཨིན།(I am ready and aware)" said the young dragon martial art practitioner.

He then motioned his hand as in a gesture of connecting the bridge of her body's to connect with his palm. The handshake.

Once they shook hands he awaited for further instructions or guidance.

It was sturdier than it looked. It was a surprise to Hanako though the look on her face didn’t really change. She simply nodded, having come to a new understanding. It seemed that Hayai had all the supplies that he needed. She looked at him impassively as he seemed to speak another language that she wasn’t familiar with. He reached out his hand for a shake and she reciprocated. She grasped his hand and gave it a firm shake. ”Our client will be shortly.” She started with a logical calm to her voice.

They would not need to wait long for the archaeologist. The man was prepared if anything. He was an older gentleman with a full beard that was white as snow and her wore a green jean jacket along with a comically overstuffed backpack that seemed like it should most likely weigh just as much as he did. The man came over to Hanako and Hayai. ”Right then you two are my escort is that it?” The man glanced over the two. It was clear from the expression on his face that he had his suspicions about the pair. Hanako could understand why, they were young, perhaps too young for the kind of work they did, but it wouldn’t be an issue in her mind. ”Excuse me, I didn’t introduce myself. I am Professor Sakomoto.”

”Alright then. Our itinerary involves traveling on the most direct path to the Lightning Temple Excavation sight. This is the Lightning Empire’s territory so it is unlikely that we should encounter any organized resistance, and bandit presence should be at a minimum. If all goes as planned this should be a straightforward mission. If anything goes wrong, Hayai will prioritize the Sakamoto-sensei '’’s safety, and I will handle any active threats. If there are not any questions we should get moving then.”

Sakamoto-sensei raised his hand. ”Please excuse my rudeness, but aren’t you two a little young? Especially the lad with the leaf suit?” He gestured towards Hayai.

She grasped his hand and gave it a firm shake. ”Our client will be shortly.” She started with a logical calm to her voice, when the words finished, he looked around for someone to exist.

The man approached and Hayai quickly darted focus; the man was an older gentleman with a full beard that was white as snow and he wore a green jean jacket along with an overstuffed backpack that seemed to weight as much ashe. The man then came over to Hanako and Hayai. ”Right then you two are my escort is that it?” The man glanced over the two. The man's eye's squinted at the sight of the two, ”Excuse me, I didn’t introduce myself. I am Professor Sakomoto.” the white bearded man said.

”Alright then." Hanako said, "I Hayai," Hayai replied rather softly; Hayai replied to the introduction but Hanako had been speaking already, "Our itinerary involves traveling on the most direct path to the Lightning Temple Excavation sight,"
Hayai nodded.
"This is the Lightning Empire’s territory so it is unlikely that we should encounter any organized resistance, and bandit presence should be at a minimum."
"Okay." Hayai said while she continued speaking.
"If all goes as planned this should be a straightforward mission. If anything goes wrong, Hayai will prioritize the Sakamoto-sensei’s safety,"
Hayai looked at the older gentleman then turned to look at the reflection in the lake, before motioning his head to look back at the two,
"and I will handle any active threats. If there are not any questions we should get moving then.”

Hayai looked at the old man who then rose his hand and spoke,”Please excuse my rudeness, but aren’t you two a little young? Especially the lad with the leaf suit?” He gestured towards Hayai.

Hayai looked at Hanako, "What rudeness?" He asked. The boy put his index finger on his head and scratched the top center, he turned to the water and then back at the two before motioning to scratch the top of his head with his other hand.

"ང་གིས་ཧ་མི་གོ་བས།."(I do not comprehend)
The young lad then motioned to the tree's again as little movement was made once more, the wind began picking up as clouds began to become condensed, Hayai looked up then back at Hanako and Mr. Sakomoto.

He began jogging in place again and saluted Hanako, "When we go?" The boy said, then he put his right hand up and used his index finger to motion in a circular circumference before halting and pointing at the ground and drawing a circle with his finger in the dirt. He created stick figures of the three, and then drew a circle around the figures, followed by drawing another circle of foot prints, with the stick figures ahead of the footprints, after he drew the figures he pointed at Hanako, "Tell. I-" he motioned his fingers in a walking like movement, as if his fingers became legs with his right hand ahead of his left as the left was now performing the same actions as the one ahead of he, once the movement ceased, Hayai quickly spoke, "How say?" He looked at the two while pronouncing the word say.

Hanako had never met someone who didn’t seem to understand the common language before of the Shinobi nations. She glanced over at the professor who also shook his head. He was a student of the Lightning Empire’s history, not other nations it would seem. He began jogging in place and Hanako watched him, utterly fascinated, and yet her expression outwardly was completely mute for she wasn’t really capable of showing her emotions on her face. He was gesturing with his hands some kind of concept, but to Hanako it seemed like his concept might be something more complicated than a simple phrase. She wondered if he had even understood the instructions she had given not even a moment ago seeing as how there was an obvious communication gap. He then squatted down and began to draw figures in the dirt. A circle and three stick figures. His gesture to the figures made it clear that this was supposed to be them. Then his fingers stepped as if walking across the door in a fashion similar to a person’s footsteps, even going so far as leaving little finger footsteps in the dirt.

Hanako felt a surge of excitement at what she had just witnessed overcome her so she gave a brief if not excited clap that didn’t match her impassive facial expression. He said ‘When Go’ and “Tell I” as well as ‘How Say’. Hanako wondered how he had become a genin in Lightning Empire with such a communication difference. ”Walking?” Hanako offered, thoughtfully considering his gestures seemed to indicate walking or traveling of somekind to her.

”He’s coming with us right? Well lets be off then.” Professor Sakamoto chimed in.Hanako looked over at the archeaologist and nodded her agreement. She pulled out a map of the Lightning Empire and showed Ishiguro, Hayai where they were currently, and drew an invisible line with her finger on the map indiciating where they were going. After she had done this, she shifted the weight of her back and began to walk, the professor gave Hayai a final confused glance before chasing after Hanako.

Hanako gave a brief clap, although the expression was rather blank. He said ‘When Go’ and “Tell I” as well as ‘How Say’, she responded, ”Walking?” Hanako offered.

”He’s coming with us right? Well lets be off then.” Professor Sakamoto said, Hanako looked over at the archeaologist and nodded her agreement as did Hayai. She pulled out a map of the Lightning Empire and showed Ishiguro, Hayai, his eyes quicly darted as he walked where she was, reaching a foot away from her. She drew an invisible line with her finger on the map indiciating where they were going. After she had done this, Ha looked up at her, as she shifted the weight of her back and began to walk, the professor gave Hayai a final confused glance before chasing after Hanako.

Ha quickly followed behind, as they sped, the sight of there backs was quickly visible. He jumped from tree to tree and continued on his way. The young boy jumped in front of the old man, then backwards but every time he got in front, he checked the rear of there position

The boy was quickly attentive, or at least attempting to be, and jumped behind the man A few meters. He kept on course and followed behind Hanako.

It was about a day and half worth of travel, and with the old man in tow, it took longer than that on account that Hanako and Hayai had to keep pace with him to protect him. This was part of what made this whole trek so dangerous. The travel through the lands was not entirely pleasant on foot. The land of Lightning tended to be cold and mountainous and its proximity to the sea meant that it was constantly uncomfortably humid. As they traveled Hanako would spot a upturned wagon in the distance. She paused the party and gathered everyone together while they were still a kilometer away. ”I see a turned over wagon up ahead, it could be someone who needs help or it could also be a pretense to get us to stop and be trap by bandits.”

Hanako looked at Hayai and considered what they should do next. It would be important to get him to have some more experience, so he should obviously weigh in to this decision. ”How do you think we should approach Hayai?”

It was about a day and half worth of travel, and with the old man in tow, it took longer than that on account that Hanako and Hayai had to keep pace with him to protect him. The land of Lightning tended to be cold and mountainous and its proximity to the sea meant that it was constantly uncomfortably humid. As they traveled Hanako would spot a upturned wagon in the distance, Hayai was looking into the distance to the east, as she looked north. She halted and she signaled, Hayai went towards the area which she look which was to the west. She gathered everyone together while they were still a kilometer away. ”I see a turned over wagon up ahead, " Hayai listened, it could be someone who needs help or it could also be a pretense to get us to stop and be trap by bandits.”, Hayai quickly looked from behind the tree as they approached, he squinted his eyes and noticed the wagon coming up ahead, then looked to see if the wagon was loaded. At the forefront was a wagon being pulled by a set of donkeys.

The wagon was covered over the top which hid most things. These things were evident as with each upward surface that laid flat on gaias earth, was motioning the wagon with barren wheels to slightly bounce at the tugs ever softly.

As they approached Hanako looked at Hayai, ”How do you think we should approach Hayai?”
Hayai looked at the young teen, and spoke when he looked over at the position the wagon would be walking towards, "What approach mean?" The boy replied. Hayai began to strategize a plan at the brink of the question.

"They have 2 front 2 back. Can see a same color of cloth. So then must be crew. How do?" the boy quickly motioned, before she replied on approach, and pointed, "Can run towards back, and Professor walking behind you, while I distract front and talk. May be win over," he said. Once she responded on what approach mean, Hayai said, "Ah. That approach. Ok." Then looked back towards the direction of the wagon.

From behind approached people who appeared to be wearing a set of uniform that could not be seen, a pair was at the end, and another was coming up from behind as they stopped 80 feet from there position. The professor seemed quiet.

Somewhere along the line they sat on top the donkeys.

Once she explained what approached meant, the wagon was off, with the pair at the front now on top the donkeys.

Hanako was baffled that Hayai also wasn’t aware of the word approach. At this rate going on this mission was a mistake. She would need to make sure that she completed things successfully and then recommend that they train Hayai on the common tongue of the land so that they could actually communicate in the future. At present, this was incredibly frustrating. The question was how should she explain what the meaning of approach was to this guy in the limited time before they had, as it seemed already that there were bandits hiding and were leaving their positions to try and approach them. ”Approach…strategy?” Hanako offered as an explanation to what she meant by approach. This was certainly testing her patience more than her skills, but she still wore a blank expression not for lack of frustration but rather she just had incredibly muted facial expressions.

Hayai commented on the fact that the approaching individuals seemed to have matching clothing and were likely members of the same group. Then he asked the How do question again. It took her precious time that they didn’t have to try and find any kind of pattern or meaning to what Hayai was saying. Ultimately she settled on the belief that he was saying that he will distract them and talk to them and that Hanako should deal with the ones in the back. ”Fine you can try and deal with the ones in the front. I’ll handle the ones in the back. If you get in over your head, I will bail you out.” Hanako agreed to Hayai’s plan. The two near the wagon had mounted Donkeys and were riding them over to their location.

Hanako pulled four shuriken from her shuriken holster. She activated a sensory jutsu to detect the location of the two in the back and threw two shuriken with 50 strength and 50 speed at an angle. She timed everything just right so that on her second throw, the two shuriken would collide with the first two and redirect them around the barriers of protection that the two in the back had. The Shurikens had such strength and force that mere bandits would find themselves shredded by her shuriken, and as she had gone for the throat they wouldn’t have even made a sound. Still in their hiding place, their friends in the front would not be able to tell that Hanako had summarily dispatched them. She then pulled out a kunai and stood in front of the professor to protect him from the bandits in the front just in case Hayai ran into any difficulties.

”D-do you think he will really be alright?” The professor asked. Hanako didn’t answer because she didn’t know if he would be alright or not. He was just 8 years old. He was practically a child. A baby. Was he too young for this kind of mission? Perhaps he should have still been in the academy. He also was having trouble speaking the language. She wore a blank expression but it hid the worry that she felt in her heart as she wondered if this kid could actually take care of himself. She had to steel herself as she held herself back. She knew she could so easily kill the bandits that were approaching them. There were very few people in the entire world that could compete with her strength and speed. She had spent her time developing by hunting Dinosaurs in the land of Stars while the others her age slacked off and did menial missions.

Her grip on her Kunai tightened and she tried to quieten the beating pulse in her ears. Patience. Patience. Let the yong one handle it. She was young as well, and really didn’t feel that it was fair to her to be in this situation. She had to be the leader and the adult. She had to b e the one to allow him to grow. She could feel the sweat on her palms being absorbed into the bandages wrapped on her hands as she waited in anticipation. One wrong move and she throw her kunai in Hayai’s defense.

”Approach…strategy?” Hanako offered as an explanation to what she meant by approach. Ha looked into the distance. She looked blank as usual, blank in the sense of expression of sentiments.

just for future reference italic writing is considered inner thoughts, and stuff your character wouldn't necessarily hear. Although I do not mind psychic abilities.
”Fine you can try and deal with the ones in the front. I’ll handle the ones in the back. If you get in over your head, I will bail you out.” Hanako agreed to Hayai’s plan. The two near the wagon had mounted Donkeys and were riding them over to their location. Hayai began approaching them. As he did Hanako was off.

"Hello!" Said the bandits, "What's a kid doing out here all by himself?" Asked the one on the right.
"Nothing. Just walking you"
The two of them giggled.
"Walking?" They said
"Yah. Walking the country to safe keep."
The two chuckled when suddenly, Hanako pulled four shuriken from her shuriken holster. She activated a sensory jutsu to detect the location of the two in the back and threw two shuriken with 50 strength and 50 speed at an angle. She timed everything just right so that on her second throw, the two shuriken would collide with the first two and redirect them around the barriers of protection that the two in the back had. Still in their hiding place, their friends in the front would not be able to tell that Hanako had summarily dispatched them. Hayai looked behind them and noticed the two had died, then fell. The sound of the bodies crashing left a gulp in the wake of Hayai's baffledness.

Hayai shrugged his shoulders when the two looked back at him, "I thought was going to be just talk." the boy thought. The one on the right walked towards the body while the one on the left kept eye of Hayai, "Was accident. Thought was only talk," the boy said. The one left to watch gritted his teeth, "They got kids as distraction." He ran into the forest when he noticed the sigil on the boy. The other saw, suddenly, the bodies were pulled with a swift air like vacuum. The other surviving member fled as well.

Hayai did not bother to approach them, however, the conversation ingrained in his brain as memories began to fill him of both adults and children mocking him and ridiculing him of his mother's infidelity.

The boy approached the wagon. "Gone is," the boy said a loud for any to hear.
