Training on the Cliffs

Akira stood, looking at the various plateaus of his homeland, preparing for training. The young ninja was in a large, flat area with large rocks scattered around, the perfect area for training ninjitsu! He saw a large rock and grinned, beginning to do hand seals. Red mist shot from the youth's hands, as he swiftly began doing more hand seals. Flames shot from his mouth, which hit the mist and caused a huge explosion. A large hole was blasted in the rock, as the proud boy looked on. He was getting good at this. He then used handseals to preform the double jump technique, leaping off of a three-foot plateu. About one foot over the ground he did the second jump, making more handseals to blast nearby rocks with the great fireball technique. He then readied his bo staff and prepared to hit the ground. In a prefect world, Akira would have been able to use the staff to slow his fall, jamming the staff into the ground and slowly climbing down it. However, being very clumsy with his taijutsu, the bo staff slipped and Akira fell face first in stone. He frowned, rubbing the wounds on his face. The determined youth began climbing up the plateu again, saying "Second time's the charm."

Akira tried climbing up the plateu, but even though it was only three feet tall it was still very stressful for the weak child. He eventually managed to scale the cliff, but his arms felt like they were on fire. He rubbed his arms, wincing in pain, and then decided to think of a new jutsu idea. He imagined himself as a powerful Jounin, surrounded by enemies. He leaped into the air and punched the ground, causing a huge flaming shockwave to appear. All the ninja were blown back and singed by the fire. He was so engrossed in his daydream he actually leaped up and punched the ground. He winced, shaking his hand from the pain of the impact. He said to himself "Now that's gonna leave a mark." He realized that while he couldn't pull of a jutsu that spectacular, he could probably try to do a weaker version of it. It did seem pretty useful, being able to injure and push away enemies. He decided to start his practice for the technique immediately. He began focusing his chakra in his hand, slamming it just above the ground. A small shockwave of fire, barely even reaching his foot, formed. Akira sighed. He sure had a long way to go before this technique would work right.
