[Mission] Gimme your lunch money!

A scroll had been delivered to Akito's personal home. In it, there were three things: a map of the Rock Country detailing how to get to Takinawa Village, a description of the situation there, and all of the known information gathered on the Kurotatsu. The village, just southeast of Iwagakure, was urgently awaiting his arrival, desperately hoping that he would dispatch the bullies that had been harrassing them for months. Until now, the group hadn't seemed like much of a threat to the Takinawa Villagers, but a recent threat about the violation of women made Iwa realize what a serious issue the Kurotatsu were presenting. Hopefully, Akito would not fail them...

"...Please leave immediately. Tsuchikage. Hm..." Akito looked up from the scroll he'd received moments before at the warm rising sun, and the pink sky above looming mountains. He placed the map aside, and then folded the scroll and returned it to its canister, releasing a sigh. Placing the canister in a cabinet and running a finger down the locking mechanism to seal it with his unique chakra signature, Akito thought about what this mission meant for him. Weeks before, there had been an...incident...in the Tsuchikage's office. Akito had requested permission to leave the village for a personal mission, but he was refused. He'd lost his temper and forgotten his place, and since then, Akito had been restricted to village work. He was to be paired with a Genin team and ordered not to leave the village. Akito surmised that man power was currently decreased, and so in an act of desperation, the Kage had rescinded his original command. Akito ran a hand through the damp white spikes of his hair, considering the implications of his restored trust.

Yoko...you're out there somewhere, I can feel it. I'm going to find you. I swear.

The option to abandon the village and find his sister was one that he had entertained on several occasions, never without a sense of profound guilt for thinking such subversive things. However, he wasn't even sure if Yoko was alive...and if she was, could she ever forgive him? He wasn't a man to make excuses. He sincerely wished he could go after Yoko, and it wasn't a sense of fear that held him back from doing whatever it took to track her down, but a sense of responsibility - to himself, to his father, to Iwa, and most of all, to Kamina. The thought of hurting her was unbearable. No, he couldn't abandon his life in Iwagakure...he'd have to seek Yoko on his country's terms, or else he'd never be able to look himself in the eye. He had been raised to be this way, and though Kamina had opened his mind and his heart and let new dreams in to his previously narrow mind, old habits died hard, so as hard as it would be, Akito would return to the village immediately after completing his mission.

Turning to his room's open door, he watched Kamina as she soundly slept. A smile crept onto his face and he almost lost track of time. Oh, Kamina. I'm the luckiest man in the world. Whatever happens, I will be a man worthy of your love. Akito pressed two fingers to his lips and held them out to his love as he back stepped towards the door, grabbing the map he'd set aside earlier and sliding it into his pocket and grabbing his jacket from the rack at the door. As much as he wished he could stay in bed with her forever, he had a mission, and he wouldn't be dishonored by sleeping in. He turned from Kamina, opened the door, and began to shrug on his jacket as he headed for the west gate.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Several minutes later, Akito came upon the west gate, a giant stone slab that could open inward, outward, or slide up or down. He stiffened his posture and saluted the guard, who returned the salute and began to raise the slab. Akito gave a gesture of thanks and slipped under the gate to save the man some effort. Darkness greeted him - the gate opened up into a side of the mountain with a narrow path that led to the countryside that laid between him and Takinawa village. Akito stepped into the tunnel, stretching his arms above his head and twisting a few times at the waist to loosen his muscles and give his eyes a chance to adjust to the dim lightning before he began a full dash through the cavern. The wind whipping at his face stung, but he wore a determined expression. It didn't take long for him to reach the bottom; he knew these caverns well. Once outside, he retrieved the map he'd brought with him and checked his location and the direction he'd need to take.

Indeed, Kouseki Akito was a truly determined ninja. His drive to get to Takinawa Village so early would make the trip go by much more easily, and the small town came into his sight before morning slipped into noon. Takinawa was a small, quaint flicker of light on the vast wastelands of the Rock Country. Amidst the plains of rocks and scarce plant life, the village was like an oasis; the buildings were painted with soft pastels, the streets dotted with false potted flowers. It was actually rather ironic that such a picture perfect little place was in the Rock Country, where people go to film their suicides.

The Takinawa Villagers were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Iwagakure ninja they had requested. The Kurotatsu would surely visit within the next hour, and a shinobi would surely intimidate. A reception party was actually waiting at the town's main gate for Akito to arrive, bearing gifts and presents and pleas for any help they could get.

Akito had been dashing across the uneven landscape for several hours now, rarely stopping for breath or a drink of water. As the sun neared its apex, he could make out Takinawa village in the distance, once a haven in this uninhabitable environment but now a death trap like any other snake hole or scorpion den. Akito could make out a semi-large group at the gate, and his initial reaction was defensive. From the palm of his hand extended white crystal, solidifying and growing to form a blade. He gripped its hilt as he came closer to the group, and once he was within earshot he skidded to a halt, stirring up a cloud of red dust that swirled around him in the wind. He appraised those who stood at the gate with an eye honed by years of careful diligence. One could never be too careful, but these people didn't seem to be hostile. In fact, they seemed happy to see him. They held gifts and wore smiles of relief. Still, he maintained a firm grip on the crystalline sword he wielded and now walked towards the men and women who waited at the gate. In a loud, authoritative voice, he began to speak.

"I am Kouseki Akito of Iwagakure. I've come to eradicate the menace known as the Kurotatsu." He waited for a reply, standing about twenty feet away, his stance relaxed and responsive to threat.

Akito's greeting earned quite an impressive response of grately calls of "Thank heaven you're here!" and "Bless your soul!" and the like. One man in particular stepped forward. He seemed to be a very proud man, as he moved with a notable sense of dignity and self-assurance. He wore a traditional Japanese robe, a dark grey male kimono. His skin was tan from many days--years--of outdoor work, and his dark brown beard was well kept. Surely, the Iwagakure ninja would be surprised to see a man who seemed so noble bow before him. "Welcome to Takinawa Village, Kouseki Akito-san. Thank you for coming here," He said, his voice deep and booming. "My name is Kiyo Oona, and I am the leader of Takinawa, the mayor, if you will. You are already aware of the situation that plagues our humble town."

Kiyo beckoned for Akito to follow him into the village, and the entourage who had been there to greet him now left their offerings on the ground and scattered away. "We truly cannot express how grateful we are that a shinobi of such status as yours would come to help us," He admitted. As they walked, signs of destruction were visible, such as patched up doors, windows that had been broken, damaged fences and gardens. "The Kurotatsu have recently threatened some... disturbing things if we don't give them absurd amounts of money and property. We are not trained in the ninja arts like they are, and we do not stand a chance at fighting them."

Soon, they reached the center of town. There were boutiques run by aspiring entrepreneurs, food stands owned by reputable villagers, and even some children running around playing. They were too young to be aware of the terrible state that their home was in. "They come here around noon each day," Kiyo said solemnly as he watched the little ones play. He let out a sight of grief that he, too, could not just dive into some imaginary game of youth and ignore the issues at hand. "You have an hour or two to rest up, Kouseki Akito-san. You must be weary from your journey. You may help yourself to any facilities that Takinawa has to offer. I apologize for being a poor host, but as you can imagine, I have much to attend to."

With that, the distinguished man turned and walked away, leaving Akito to ponder the situation.

Akito was a bit taken aback by the man's noble demeanor. He had expected a quaint little village, but the man who greeted him looked like he belonged...well, in Iwagakure. Akito listened intently as the man spoke with a powerful voice, and as he walked through the gates behind the man, the villagers scattered, as if viewing him as a menace...He thought momentarily that they seemed to view him as some sort of god or good spirit; offering gifts? Retreating before him? He didn't think of himself in that way, and thought it strange that they would behave as such, but one little boy hid behind one end of the fence and waved at Akito as he crossed the threshold. He flashed a friendly smile, and despite the wicked-looking crystal blade in his hand, to a curious child's eyes, he didn't look like anything but a good man come to help. The man's voice brought him back to the task at hand, and he looked around, witnessing firsthand the extend of the damages - smashed windows, boarded-up doors, trampled gardens, stains of blood...It was truly a horrible sight, and Akito felt a wince of personal pity breach the hard exterior of his soldier's persona. The man expressed the belief that they would be no match for the Kurotatsu, and to himself, Akito agreed. To Akito, the men seemed to be mere brigands. He had see far worse destruction come from able shinobi, but that didn't undermine the woe these people felt. Though others might have suffered more, that didn't change the fact that they suffered - and nothing could be worse than the loss of a loved one, so while the places he'd seen might have been bigger, and the property more valuable, one could never truly weigh one man's pain against another's. These people had no defense from bullies, and Akito was happy to be here in their midst to lend aid, not only because it was his duty as an Iwagakure Shinobi, but because it was the right thing to do.

The two men reached the center and Akito remained silent as the man gave him permission to make himself at home. He gave the man a bow of respect and humility and turned his eyes to the surrounding village. It was a bit awkward to suddenly be alone, and he felt himself missing Kamina. However, he found that he was tired. Maybe it was the emotional welcome, or the pain of his empathy. Whatever the reason, he decided that a rest would be a good idea. Akito walked over to one of the men who was working his stand and asked, "Excuse me sir. How many entrances does this village have?" He would set up shadow clone guards at each entrance and remain at the center so that no matter where the Kurotatsu approached from, Akito could meet them without being caught off guard.

"Er, uhm, there's only two entrances, sir, uhm," Mumbled the young man whom Akito approached. It was immediately clear that he was very nervous around the Jounin; his crystal blade of death made things no more comfortable. "There's just the eastern and western gates, and, uhm, yeah, those are the main trading routes." Under the thin, shaky words, the message that the vendor was trying to convey was clear: please, scary stranger, don't hurt me.

As anxious as he was, the man had given Akito the right answer; there were only two entrances to Takinawa, west and east, because there was no real points of interest to the north or south. The shinobi had entered through the western gate. His plan to guard the entrances was quite clever; maybe seeing a trained ninja guarding the village would even be enough to scare the Kurotatsu away before they even came in! That was being very hopeful, of course, but bullies like the gang in question were often very cowardly.

Akito wasn't so clueless as not to notice the man's discomfort. He became aware of the sword in his hand and chastised himself mentally for intimidating the man. Stupid, stupid mistake. Still, Akito thanked the man with a gracious grin and bounded off to a secluded part of the village to the east. Once he was sure that he was out of sight, he made the proper hand seal.

"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" He exclaimed in a steady voice, and two mirror duplicates appeared before him, each holding a curved crystalline sword and wearing the same focused expression.

"You two will guard the east gate. One of you will disperse if you see anything to inform me. The other will remain and attempt to ward off any attackers, first verbally, and then physically. If that fails, you will stall them while I make my way here. Alternately, if the attackers choose the west gate, where I'll be watching, I will not call for the two of you. I'd rather have you guard this gate." The instructions given, the Shadow Clones rushed to the east gate to stand watch. Akito hid the crystal sword in his coat so as not to scare anyone else - he could have left it behind, but it was forbidden to leave such important clan evidence behind - and made his way to the west gate.

Before long, a dot appeared on the eastern horizon. The dot slowly grew, eventually splitting into the silhouettes of 8 men. They all kept at a steady gait, but not an even one. Not a single member of the troupe was in step with another; there was nothing organized about the group at all. As they came even closer though, they could be seen in greater detail. They all seemed to be in their early twenties, except for one who seemed just a few years older.

One of them had an orange hue to his skin, and his disproportionally large head made him look like a pumpkin.

One was short, his dark hair slicked back to place emphasis on skin that looked very well-pampered. He carried what looked to be a pair of nunchucks in his hands.

Two of them were twins, both tall and lanky. They had long, greasy hair and they both carried bo staves.

Another was clearly the muscle of the group; he was big and bulky with a dumb air about him, and an expression that said that he was angry for being so dumb.

Number six seemed meek; he walked a bit behind the rest and dragged his feet, slouching and sulky.

One was obviously the youngest. He seemed excitable and spunky, carrying a simple club in his hands.

The last one was the only really notable one. He took strides while the others took steps. He wore a respectable shinobi flak jacket with pride befitting a talented ninja. There was no question that he was the leader.

The Kurotatsu approached the gate like a rooster approaches a henhouse; this place was their territory and everything it belonged to them. You could imagine their surprise when they saw a legitimate shinobi waiting for them. What? Make that... two legitimate shinobi. "Shit. Shadow Clones," Spat the leader under his breath. Despite his evident distaste that there was an experienced ninja in the village, he kept the group going straight forward, not wavering one bit. Once they were close, he spoke. He voice was smooth as oil, the way you might expect a puma to sound if it could talk. "Well, well," he purred, "look what Iwagakure tossed our way. What do you think you're doing here, Mr. Big Strong Ninja Man?" His tone became mocking quickly as chortles rose from the rest of the group.

Behind the clones of Akito, all of Takinawa fell silent. Children were hurried inside to safe places, heirlooms locked away. The only real hope they had left was this ninja... Hopefully, he will be the answer to their prayers.

When the two clones became aware of the group in the distance, they did a quick game of jan-ken-po to determine which one would disperse. The clone that stood on the left lost, and without as much as a grunt of disappointment, burst into a puff of smoke. Akito immediately gained the vision that the shadow clone had seen, and sighed. He had hoped that he wouldn't have to run all the way across the village, but it seems like luck had been against him. Rather than traversing the twisting alleys, he took to the sky. Creating small crystalline steps beneath his feet, he bounded from "step" to "step" until he landed on the flat roof of a squat house. Now he could see the east gate perfectly and dashed with maximum speed towards it. He landed in a crouch next to his clone just as the man finished mocking the clone.

Akito and his shadow spoke in unison, their confident unafraid voices booming in unison.

"Kurotatsu gang: My name is Kouseki Akito. It is my duty to prevent this village from coming to any harm. This is the duty given to me by Iwagakure no Sato and after seeing the destruction your reckless ways have caused I have taken this task personally. It would be unwise to press on."

They stood their ground with blank faces, the intensity of their voices containing all of the emotion necessary. Muscles bulged visibly against the brown Iwagakure flak jackets with the tension of the encounter and the white hair belonging to the man and his doppelganger flared in a sudden gust of wind that caused a dust devil to swirl around the two groups.

The leader of the Kurotatsu merely chuckled arrogantly. "It looks like he's not going to leave, boys. I'll leave him to all of you to take care of," He hissed authoritatively. Though it seemed like the black-haired man was just cocky, he was no fool. The Iwa ninja's attire indicated that he was a Jounin, just like the leader was. That would make it a fair fight between the two men. Fortunately for him, unfortunately for Akito, there were also the rest of the gang members. Sure they were barely as strong as Genin, but even 7 Genin would be enough to at least wear down a Jounin.

The noon sun harshly beat down on both Kurotatsu and Iwa nin, the sweltering heat practically audible. The leader glared into Akito's eyes intensely before a sadistic smile curled his lips. He flicked his wrist, and his gang attacked...

The seven young men charged viciously, beasts ready to kill. The first one, the orange one, charged as he clumsily strung together some hand seals, then abruptly stopped, kicking the ground. A wave of stone spikes shot up from the ground towards Akito.

The second dove in from a different angle, swinging his nunchaku madly, aiming to at least get rid of the shadow clone... Hopeful fella, isn't he?

The two twins used a Double Jump technique to prepare an aerial attack of twin downward bo strikes.

The meathead and the youngest one ran in together, south of the stone spikes but north of the nunchuck user's path. The big guy picked up the scrawny club holder and hurled him right at Akito; he drew back his weapon to launch a solid shot right to the face while the one who threw him came charging in behind him with a tackle.

The last guy, the shy one, tried a genjutsu on Akito... "Er... Uhm... You'll beat us when pigs fly!" He muttered, unsure of what he was really doing. If the illusion did work, a winged pig would dive out of the sky right above the Hidden Rock shinobi.

The leader stood back and watched, stretching and warming up his chakra while his lackies weakened the opposition...

Akito's face was unflinching as the leader denied his command by sicking his cronies on him. He had expected as much. It was unlikely that a man of at least equal talent with seven little minions would back down against one man and a shadow clone. Akito merely sighed as if saying "Your funeral" and he and his clone pulled the crystalline swords from their jackets, brandishing them expertly and causing their faceted surfaces to gleam in the bright light of the day.

The men all attacked at once. A foolish thing to do.
The first attack was straight forward and easy to dodge - a lightning-quick appraisal of the positions and angles of the other men told Akito to strafed to his left, which put him in his clone's path. As he moved, he transferred his sword to his left hand and three crystalline shards materialized in his hands. This handful he hurled at the man whose hands were forming a seal to use the spike Jutsu.
SpoilerShow

Kouseki Kunai [Crystal Kunai]
D-Rank Ninjutsu
Akito channels chakra through the palm of his hand to create a crystal kunai that can be used in melee combat or thrown to cause damage or knock other objects out of the air. These kunai are harder and more durable than metal kunai and don't have a time limit, but he can shatter these kunai to an undetectable dust so as not to leave any evidence behind.
Now facing the man who had went for the shadow clone, He swatted the blunt edge of the nunchaku aside with the hilt of his crystal sword and used the momentum of his movement for driving his foot towards the stomach of the man, grunting with effort as he put a sizable amount of force into the blow that would likely crack several of the man's ribs and render him useless - if conscious at all.

The clone behind Akito watched the two men in the air carefully, waiting for their next move. If things looked bad, it would disperse, showing Akito his blind spot and allowing him to defend himself. After attempting to crush the ribs of the man in front of him with a fierce kick, Akito would follow through with the motion, bringing his foot back to the ground as the rest of his body adjusted to face the man again and jumping back a few paces to stand next to his clone. Two other men ran for him, and used a strange combo: The smaller man was flung at Akito like kunai. It was almost humorous, but Akito was too serious a person to laugh in a situation like this, and besides, he didn't have much of a sense of humor anyway. He responded to the attack by hurling the sword in his left hand at the man flying through the air - he didn't have superior aim with that hand, but he was good enough to aim for the point between the man's eyes - a guaranteed kill if it hit, since the man's speed would only serve to make the impact more fatal.

He hadn't even yet broken a sweat, but it was the enemy jounin he'd have to worry about. The man behind the human canonball was still coming; Akito could hear his heavy footfalls. He had several more enemies to worry about, and he hadn't confirmed a single kill yet.

His hands free, Akito performed a rapid string of seals.
He then crouched low and placed his hands on the hot earth, chanelling chakra into the ground.
SpoilerShow
Kouseki Same Crystal Sharks
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Akito makes a few hand seals and places his hands on the ground, pushing chakra into the earth to create crystals in the shape of sharks. Using doton, they can "swim" through the earth and jump up from underground, biting or slashing with crystal fins before diving back into the ground again. Three sharks can be created. They will be destroyed by any D-Rank Raiton or C-Rank Taijutsu/Ninjutsu. They have about 4 points in their physical stats, but are somewhat mindless, meaning they simply attack and "swim" and can't think or reason. The only real form of intelligence they have is that they can detect footsteps from underground and engage the source in combat. This allows Akito to track enemies or lay traps for them, triggering the sharks to attack anything that passes above them.
Lasts up to three posts before the sharks become inanimate.
The sound of grinding stone and mineral could faintly be heard from the combat area. The crystal sharks were sensing the footsteps of the running man, and homing on him. They would intercept the man before he got within ten yards of Akito and jump from the ground, biting him with razor sharp teeth or severing limbs with their scythe-like fins.

After the sharks were created, Akito straightened and quickly appraised the situation, taking in his surroundings and confirming the damage done to the opposition as well as re-checking the position of their evident leader.

It seemed like it all happened in a blink: splatters of blood, pierced flesh, crushed earth, sounds of impact with the ground. As quickly as the assault had begun, it was over. There were two instant deaths: the ninjutsu user who had taken crystal kunai to the throat, and the small one who was thrown dealt with a blade piercing right through his skull. The rest were severely injured, collapsing to the ground either lacerated or unconscious.

The leader eyed the situation with an unsurprised expression. He couldn't help but laugh, "Impressive. I expected them to at least put up a fight." He cricked his neck to each side, smiling with confidence. "Now you get to deal with me." He crouched into a fighting stance and channeled chakra into both hands. "Taihoute no Jutsu!"

An aura of chakra surrounded his hands from the wrists forward, soldifying into a thick, conical shape. The function of the fixtures was left unexplained for now, but the Kurotatsu leader beckoned Akito forward with a cocky grin.

As quickly as the battle with the seven minions had begun in the still heat outside of Takinawa village, it came to a bloody close. Akito released a long breath that he'd held in the last throes of combat to relax his tense muscles. When the final body had hit the ground, and the sand sharks had submerged once more, he turned his intense gaze on the leader. He wore a flak jacket and by his command over these men who had thrown themselves to their death, it had been painfully obvious from the start that he was their leader.

Akito's fingers flexed as he stared his opponent down, waiting for any indication of battle.
His fellow Jounin acted first..."Taihoute no Jutsu!"

A conical ray of chakra extended from the mand's hands. Akira's muscles were on the verge of reaction but it wasn't an attack Jutsu; the ray wasn't too long and the man taunted him to move closer. It had to be a defensive Jutsu of some sort.

The movement of the man's arms had alerted the sand sharks and they begun to burrow towards the enemy Jounin, cutting through the thick earth easily with their razor fins, churning the earth below with a groan. Swimming up towards the surface, the first shark exploded from the ground, a crescent moon of sparkling color whose teeth gnashed from left to the right. The shark's tail would whip around with a heavy blow to the man's middle even if its bite missed. The second shark would emerge at about that time from the hole the leader had created to dive past the remaining thug, its left fin threatening to slash through his upper chest. The final shark's dive was slightly higher and its body was aimed at his head, putting all of its weight into a sharp-toothed ram that could easily decapitate him if it landed.

Akito was a patient fighter, and wasn't about to jump in with the crystalline sharks; rather, he and his shadow clone watched intently to learn a bit more about the man's abilities.

[Mission] Gimme your lunch money!

"Heh. Child's play," The Leader scoffed when he first noted the rumbling earth beneath him. He pointed the conically shaped chakra weapon on his arm towards the ground when it began to break apart, signifying that the shark would leap from that point. "Genshibakuha," He said, barely saying the words aloud. In an instant, a flash of light burst from the end of his arm, tearing the crystalline fish into atoms. He repeated the action with to the other sharks who attacked him.

A large cloud of dust and smoke rushed into the air, as if trying to escape the destruction caused by the Kurotatsu Leader. Laughter resonated from inside the veil of debris; when the dirt settled, the shoulders of the man's silhouette could be seen bouncing up and down, then a vicious grin on his face became visible. "Are you regretting ever picking a fight with me, shinobi?" He mocked, a patronizing inflection on the last word. "I'll destroy you and I won't even leave a trace that you existed."

It was then clear to Akito that the conical aura around the man's arm was used for attacking and not for defending himself. He found it unlikely that the weapon could be used as a trap of any sorta; it probably merely fired off deadly blasts of energy, which Akito could defend himself against easily enough. He glanced at the ground to see the extent of the damage. ((To see if the attack burrowed a huge crater in the ground or if it merely shattered the sharks - If the blast radius was massive he'd have to worry about a missed blast traveling past Akito and doing exorbitant amounts of damage to the village.)) He could then come up with a plan either to get in close, where the canon's range would sabotage the jounin, or defend the walls of the village from deadly blasts while waiting for a gap in defense to present itself.

A crystalline sword then slowly began to grow from his palm. He squeezed his fist around the hilt as the length of the blade extended outward, gleaming brightly in the sun.

"It may not have worked against you, but it was successful against the bastards you waltz around with. Tell me. Did their lives mean anything to you? Did their deaths evoke even an ounce of reaction from your black heart?" The question served two purposes; 1, he wished to taunt the man into making a foolish move. 2, if he could get the man to talk with him it might give him some time to analyze the man and the village time to hide and protect themselves.

((I think that there are craters left in the ground, but only like 2 feet wide. They would do damage to the village, but not like levelling buildings in one shot. More like blowing a big hole in a wall.))

The Leader shrugged the question aware, disgustingly casual. "Not really. They aren't worth much to me in the grand scheme of things," He said offhandedly, as if a human life truly was without value. He took aim with his cannon once more, pointing his arm at Akito. "Of course, pawns are always useful for us, but we have more than enough. Seven idiots are expendable."

A smile brightened the Leader's face as his hand began to radiate with chakra, charging up the shot. "Rasen Rakurai." A moment later, static trails of electricity crackled from the cannon on his wrist, followed by a spiraling bolt of lightning that ripped through the air towards Akito.

Akito's pale eyes narrowed at the man's callous response and he stared back into the other Jounin's eyes, feeling a rage within him that he usually would not have experienced during a mission. Perhaps it was the nobility of the village's leader, or the endearing simplicity of the citizens, but Akito felt like his mission was more than just duty now. He had a personal stake in the survival of these people, now, and more so than the fact that his taunt had been ineffective, he was pissed off that the man would treat his subordinates that way. Akito couldn't imagine a man being that reckless with human life - to him, it was as low as dirt. Even a common criminal should have some trace of decency...but no, not this man. The only conclusion was that he be eradicated from this world. Akito drew himself up straight and tall and resigned himself to the task at hand. Though he felt no pleasure in killing outside of the knowledge that he'd protected a life or served his country, he felt his blood boiling for this man's death.

The man began to smile and Akito stiffened, realizing he was about to make a move. Akito began to strafe slowly to the side towards his shadow clone, slowly and deliberately so as to conserve energy. He was fully recovered from the effort of battle a few minutes ago; it hadn't really been much of a battle, after all, but still he wished to conserve his energy while this man flexed his muscles and showed off his destructive techniques. Akito was not only a conservative individual, but a conservative warrior as well, and he understood the concept that a good defense was sometimes the quickest way to bring an enemy to the point where they were useless as a weapon of war. As he moved, his free hand formed a sign - not for a jutsu, but one of communication - and the Shadow Akito began to dash towards the man, arms at its sides and head bent beneath the air pressure as it moved with great speed. A crystalline blade grew from the clone's palm, four feet long and sparkling.

Hakumei Ken [Twilight Blade]
D-Rank Ninjutsu
By making a one handed seal and focusing chakra into the sword in his other hand, Akito causes crystal shards to grow upon his sword, improving its sharpness and hardness.
If he isn't holding his sword, he can create one by making a one handed seal and focusing chakra in the palm of his other hand, creating a hilt iin his palm. A sharp crystalline blade will extend from the hilt out.
These blades will be about four feet long from the hilt to the sharpened tip.
The blade will last 2 turns and this jutsu cannot be used on the same turn that it ends.
As it ran, it lifted the sword directly in front of it, and jagged shards of crystal began to rocket through the air towards the man's gut - they lacked flawless accuracy due to the speed of the clone's sprint, but were aimed at a stationary target that was occupied with a Jutsu.
SpoilerShow
Hakumei Tama [Twilight Bullet]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Range: Medium (10-15m)
Requirements: Must have Hakumei Ken active.
A technique developed by Akito. While holding a sword made of or covered in crystal, Akito is able to force chakra through his hands into the tip of the sword to fire sharp crystal "bullets" from the tip. The rate of fire is somewhat rapid but only about 5 "bullets' can be fired per turn.
Example
As the criminal charged his attack. Akito watched from behind his clone, analyzing the technique.

Grr...Raiton. This is the worst possible match up for me. I'm at a disadvantage...But I shall not fail. This man will pay with blood for the lives he's ruined.

Akito stabbed the pointed end of his sword into the earth by his side in order to make a few hand seals. He then crouched and slapped both palms flat to the hot earth. A rumbling from below the earth...and a great wall of crystal began to build and stitch itself together from the ground up, forming a wall fifteen feet wide on each side. The barrier would hopefully prevent himself and the village from harm, and would serve one other purpose, too in a few short moments.
SpoilerShow
Kouseki Sekisho [Crystal Barrier]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Akito makes a few hand seals and places his hands on the ground. A wall of crystal will begin to rise from the ground in front of him, growing rapidly until it is about 15 feet long on both sides of him, 10 feet high, and 3 feet thick. It blocks almost all weapons, up to B-Rank Ninjutsu and Taijutsu or C-Rank Raiton. Because of the length of the wall, Akito's allies can hide behind it with him. Lasts two posts, but he must keep his hands on the ground the entire time.
The clone rushed foward, and the beam of energy was launched. The two streaking forces converged upon eachother in what seemed like slow motion - The straight-forward blast of chakra and the sword-wielding shadow clone that rushed along at a determined gait. At the last moment, the clone jumped above the blast, and for a few split seconds remained airborne while the wall was struck by the beam. At this point, Akito took his hands from the ground and made one other seal: An explosive activation.

A gigantic explosion shattered what remained of the crystalline wall and its resulting shockwave drove Akito's limber frame back several feet, his sandals digging into the hard earth to find traction against the force of the blast. He could only imagine what the other side of the barrier looked like, because the smoke had yet to clear.
SpoilerShow
*Bunshin Bakuha [Shadow Clone Explosion]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique]
Bunshin Bakuha is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by Akito. At first glance the clone appears to be a normal Kage Bunshin, but the user can detonate the clone at any time to form a very large explosion.
((OOC))
1) The clone starts running.
2) The clone fires Twilight Bullet at the stationary man who is charging hiz lazer.
3) Akito makes the barrier.
4) Whats his face firez his lazer
5) The clone jumps to avoid the blast. The blast hits the barrier.
6) About at the same time the clone goes boom making a huge explosion
7) What's left of the shield prevents the explosion from doing much damage on the village side of the barrier but is then broken by the raiton+the explosion.
Basically the raiton would destroy the barrier but since the clone is exploding at the same time it should block both and be destroyed anyway.

The Leader dodged to one direction to avoid the Twilight Bullets, but he could only look up in fear at the explosion; he had no way of blocking it other than to try to get further away with a clumsy leap. Luckily, the clone was in the air, and the leap was far enough to prevent the Leader from receiving the full brunt of the blast, but he couldn't avoid taking a very heavy it that tossed him away, crashing into the ground.

As the dust cleared, the form of the man could be seen getting back to his feet, panting heavily. "Looks like I underestimated you, shinobi," He grunted loud enough to hear, glaring at Akito. The bastard even protected the village from taking any damage. "I won't be playing around anymore though. Dodai Danpen no Jutsu!"

The dark-haired man placed both hands on the ground, fully aiming the cones downwards to the earth. After a moment of the weapons glowing, a deadly light burst out of the Leader's hands, ripping across the ground toward Akito. The light was bright white and shredded the ground it touched, leaving a literal path of devastation behind it, about 5 feet wide.

Inwardly, the white-haired nin was pleased as he saw that his attack had at least partially injured the rogue. He knew that the explosion wouldn't be fatal, since the clone had been too far away; fortunately the blast was large enough to wound him, since he stood at the edge of the explosion's range.

"Never underestimate an Iwagakure Shinobi. It's unfortunate that you won't be able to take this lesson with you..." Akito said coldly once the man had addressed him. Then, the man placed his hands to the ground...
Dodai Danpen? he thought to himself as his body tensed in anticipation. He didn't have to wait long to find out what kind of technique it was as waves of energy began to tear through the earth towards him. He gritted his teeth in frustration - He wasn't sure if he could protect the village at this rate. The man's attacks were too vicious, and he knew that he couldn't stop the attacks with his defensive techniques. His only option would be to end this as quickly as possible. Still, he thought he might as well try to ward off some of the attack, so Akito crouched to the ground and placed his palms against the earth, releasing his chakra into the ground.
SpoilerShow
Hakumeii Kifuita [Twilight Chessboard]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Akito channels Chakra through his hands into the ground. This creates 3 "Knights" made of crystal which attack upon his verbal command. In appearance they seem to be large, well-built crystal men with helmets, heavy body armor, and sharp swords. They cannot use Jutsu and they are mostly mindless slaves in terms of their reasoning and strategical abilities (They basically just follow and swing their swords at whoever Akito tells them to but to some extent can dodge and block). They have crystal swords and armor but only have an average of 4 in every stat, so in terms of strength, speed, etc, they could be considered above-average genin. These knights can be destroyed by any C-Rank Raiton or B-Rank Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. The Knights last 3 turns or until destroyed.
From the ground rose brilliant white crystal, forming the shapes of feet and legs, torsos and arms, and finally, heads. They stood around Akito, staring ahead, their eye sockets empty beneath the vague shapes of helmets.

"Knights! Form a straight line and hold your ground!" The simple verbal command was received with slight nods as the crystalline soldiers formed a three-man line in the blast's path, leaving a few feet between each of them. Hopefully the hard crystal would at least weaken the blast. Perhaps the ray wouldn't be powerful enough to destroy all three at all, and Akito would be able to focus on his opponent without having to worry quite as much about defending the village.

With his defenses in place, Akito new that it was now time to go on the offensive. The man so far had used purely long range attacks and the fact that he hadn't fought with Akito when his henchmen had suggested that perhaps he was a very weak Taijutsu user (and a coward, as well.)

Akito began to run towards the brigand, facing down the blast without fear. He hoped that nobody would be harmed by the blast. Fortunately, the gate was a good distance from the residential areas and he hadn't seen anyone hanging around; as long as the blast wasn't powerful enough to tear through fifty yards of concrete the damage would fall short of the center square.

Akito jumped to the left side and manifested chakra below the heel of his sandal, solidifying it into hard crystal. This physical object below him gave him a base and using chakra to aid him, he kicked off of the tiny platform, hurtling at a great speed to the opposite side, dodging the blast. Another quick step helped him change positions to the left once again, above the blast's range, in an attempt to make it difficult for the man to predict his actions. He broke his pattern, finally, for instead of moving to the right again, he dropped to the ground (After the blast had passed him and been sent on its way to meet the crystal knights) and made a crystalline sword from his unique chakra, which expanded from his palm, ending in a deadly point.

With a final burst of speed he delivered a diagonal stroke from his weapon which aimed to cleave the man in half from the right shoulder to the left hip. He would press on with his attack unrelentingly, not giving the man a chance to charge another raiton attack. Despite the aggression in his strikes, he watched the man carefully and made sure not to let his hatred of the bastard cloud his judgment and open him up to mistakes.

"Shit," The Leader cussed under his breath. The Dodai Danpen technique, or Foundation Shredding technique, worked by tearing apart the ground or floor that the battle was taking place on, but it would stop and explode as soon as it hit anything that was not made of the same material; in this case, that material was earth. However, until that point, the user is forced to keep his hands on the ground to supply chakra to the powerful technique--literally forced, as the Dodai Danpen created a link of chakra to the user that kept his hands pinned to the ground.

Desperately, but vainly trying to cancel the technique, the Leader prayed that the three knights would be enough to end it. Unfortunately for him, they were also made of earth, albeit in the form of crystal. The technique ripped right through them, heading forward to the village, but the roguish man could do nothing to defend himself against Akito's attack. The blade pulled a bloody gash across the Leader's chest, then a tearing sound at his side, then his arm. The irony was that the Dodai Danpen exploded upon touching the gate, decimating it but doing no damage to Takinawa Village.

He collapsed to the ground, blood spilling as if it were trying to escape from the evil heart through which it pumped. The Leader coughed, then roared in agony when he saw that he hadn't already died, and he would have to continue suffering.

Akito was merciless as he slashed through the man, and internally he winced as he heard the destructive sound of the blast at the village. It appeared that the knights had not stopped it at all. But he was committed to ending this fiend's reign of terror and did not flinch or pause to check the damage. There was nothing he could have done to protect the village from the assaults by standing around all day. It seemed now that this man would no longer be able to harm the village. Akito was hear to ensure it.

He brought his arm up, tightening his grip on his crystalline sword, and hurled it into the ground at his side, impaling it through the earth. This would free his hands for what came next. The man was collapsed on the ground and looked vulnerable but Akito wouldn't let his guard down. As he dropped his sword he jumped backward; if the man tried to lash out at the "defenseless" Akito, he would manifest another sword and slash the man's throat as he overextended himself.

Assuming that the man was in a vulnerable state, however, Akito would land a few feet back and channel chakra down through his feet, manifesting crystal under the enemy jounin which would form the shapes of hands with fingers and thumbs - These hands would burst from the ground, seizing the man's limbs. Then, they would drug him underground, burying him up to his neck.

Hakumei Boketsu [Twilight Grave]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
Akito performs a few hand seals, and channels chakra down through his legs into the ground, causing many crystalline hands to emerge from the ground under his target, seize their ankles, and drag them underground up to their necks. A Strength of 6 or higher is required to escape the grip of the hands. Lasts 2 turns, after that the ground will soften and anybody who has been pulled under will be able to pull themselves out of the ground with some effort.
As the crystalline hands began to do their job, Akito made a handseal and stomped the ground, causing more fragments of crystal to hover up from below the ground to form a gleaming ring around the helpless man. He looked into the man's eyes as he then made a one-hand seal.
"For your crimes against Takinawa village...your punishment...is death." That said, he closed his fingers into a fist. The ring of crystalline shards began to vibrate and then in an instant converged upon the buried missing-nin, driving into the ground from the air to skewer his head, throat, and chest.

Hakumei Ketatamashii [Twilight Piercing]
A-Rank Ninjutsu
Range: Medium (10-15m)
Akito makes a hand seal and focuses chakra in his foot, then stomps the ground, causing many two-foot shards of razor-sharp crystal to rise from the earth. Akito then changes his hand seal to a one-handed seal, his pointer and middle finger extended upwards with the rest of his fingers closed, which controls the crystals and makes them form a ring around one of his opponents. After closing his two fingers into his fist, the needles will then converge upon whatever is between them, driving themselves fiercely into the ground at a 135 degree (Like this: \ ) angle from every direction to skewer whatever is within the ring of crystal.

It seemed almost unceremonious, really. One would think that when a human life ends, there might be some sort of cold gust that brushes through the area, or some sense of dread, or a flock of crows that fly away in a rush. No. Just like that, the Leader of the Kurotatsu was dead. Takinawa Village was free from him, and the rest of the gang. Akito would have succeeded, except there were still a few living members of the gang lying on the ground--living with a loose interpretation of the word.

Four of the seven lackies had already died of blood loss, cracked spines, and the like, two were unconscious and on their way to hemorrhaging to death. Then there was one, who was still alive and conscious. He was the shy one who used Genjutsu; he was pretty badly battered, and he didn't show any signs of being coherent, for fear that doing so would lead to his death. He remained quiet, hoping that he could somehow escape and continue to live. He wasn't really much of a threat, though.

When the leader remained still and the intensity of the battle had fled from his nerves, Akito slowly lowered himself to the ground and sat, taking in the gory site before him with a sense of disconnection. He felt weary not only from the battle, but from the emotions he'd felt as he took the mission to heart. He made sure to check the other cronies; he wasn't the type to leave a mission unfinished or get false confidence just because the main target had fallen. It was then as he checked the bodies that he detected signs of life and he was on his feet immediately, grabbing the crystal sword from the ground where he'd flung it.

"A shinobi's work is never done, it seems," breathed Akito with a weary sigh, almost sad that he had to deal with these pathetic lowlifes himself. If the village had been militant he may have just turned the remaining men in to be dealt with by that village's jurisdiction but if allowed to live, they could potentially cause problems; even though they'd been no match for Akito, regular villagers might not be able to handle them. So he took it upon himself to walk up to the first man and drive the crystalline sword into his heart, twisting it to further rupture the arteries, making the pain of death short, if messy. He repeated the process for the other men.
