[Mission] - Whack-A-Mole

The Canyon was at least fifteen meter wide, though it narrowed somewhat at either end. Long walls on either side that curved to form an almost teeth-like ridge...In short, it was imposing. Intimidating. The kind of place travelers didn't go. Made only worse by the tons of rocks laying all over the ground, all kinds of holes in the canyon walls and in the ground, even worse were the clouds of thick dust in the air. It was not a fun landscape.

The ten foot tall armored mole with metallic gauntlet claws in the middle of it freaking the hell out didn't add to it. The Mole had been a summon of a particularly unpleasant Jounin and with his death, his equally unpleasant pet had been unleashed. It was huge, wearing samurai-like armor over it's torso and it's claws were armored as well, wicked gauntlets visible. And it was currently having a fit, so to speak.

One claw was embedded in the wall and it was dangling from, roughly, twenty feet off the ground, while the other claw was grinding into the canyon wall quickly, sending out chunks of rock around it.

"Sharp, dangerous rocks," Coal muttered as his eyes lazily drifted across the less than advantageous landscape. "Check."

Then the chuunin's eyes shifted and focused on the winding path leading from the village and said, "Vulnerable point of entry... Check." As he said this a large rock broke from the cliff face above and came crashing down onto the very path they'd been walking on only moments before.

Lastly he glared at the giant, armored mole going to town on the cliff face across the gaping path. With an unamused tone and expression he muttered, "And of course it has razor blades for claws. Why wouldn't it?"

Without even looking over at Jubaku he said, "I'm pretty much open to suggestions at this point, if you have any."

Jubaku was wondering what kind of mole they would have to fight or capture, or whatever. All they told him was that it was big, and it had metal claws. Soooooooo much information he had scoffed. He had now changed his mind. That pretty much described the rampaging monster as it clawed through the wall. He stared at the mole for a few seconds, before realizing that Coal had asked him a question.

"I have absolutely no idea at this point" Jubaku said, shrugging. "Believe it or not, but I don't usually have a solution for a crazed iron mole handy,".

The word rending fit what the mole was doing to the canyon wall right now, his claws flashing out and tearing apart chunks of the rock as if it were paper. A lot of paper stacked on top of each other, of course, but paper. Dust covered the mole as it made one particularly wicked sounded 'screeching' slice into the wall and then it seemed to lean in, it's body going into the hole it was making. As it slid inside, more dust began to fly out and rocks shot out bullets, most of them person-sized chunks that were now bouncing off the canyon walls and scattering all over the place, some even headed towards the two standing about.

Coal nodded slightly with the same grim expression on his face as Jubaku revealed that he was a little short handed on mole-killing tactics.

"That's a shame," the chuunin answered seriously, just now noticing the rocks spiraling through the air in their direction. "It looks like we'll just have to wing it, then."

Without another word the Tenma sidestepped to the right, narrowly avoiding the jagged rock that sped through the air in which he'd been standing only a moment before. He then darted forward as more rocks began to rain down across the ridge they were standing on. Dirt and debris kicked up into the air as each boulder smashed into the rocky ground with an ear shattering crash.

Ears ringing and disgusted by the layer of dust that covered his body, Coal leaped high into the air above the trail below and hurled two explosive tag rigged kunai into the hole that the mole had climbed into only moments before. As the projctiles sunk into the rocky cliff face, the explosive tags detonated and engulfed the mole's tunnel in a fiery explosion.

Just after the tags detonated, Coal landed and rolled onto his feet on the trail below. He didn't even hesitate as he focused chakra into the souls of his feet and started sprinting up the cliff face in which the mole had been digging into. The Tenma unsheathed two kunai and came to a stop only about fifteen feet away from the smoking crater that was the remains of the mole's tunnel.

Jubaku watched as Coal dived right into action, aiming to attack swiftly and aggressively. I don't think that is going to do much to a ten-foot tall mole he thought, watching the explosion burst out of the hole. I expect there is going to be one helluva angry mole coming out of there, so I should probably get started on my own attacks. As he started the expected handseals, Jubaku quickly focused his chakra and then bit down on his thumb. Ignoring the slight pain he watched as the blood was used as a catalyst, a catalyst for his twin demons. Mer and Zuu popped out of nowhere with opposite expressions.

Zuu began hopping around with glee, while Mer could not have looked more bored. "What are we going to do this time master?" Zuu asked, finally stopping his running around by standing on his two hands. Mer sighed at his older brother. "Well of course he summoned us to kill another monster," Mer replied, "and this one will probably almost kill us like the last time".

"Hey, that isn't true," Jubaku said defensively, not looking directly into Zuu's now gloomy eyes, "all you have to do is defeat a....... mole". Mer raised an eyebrow over this, while Zuu started laughing. "See brother! Master wouldn't send us into THAT much danger, would he?" Jubaku felt guilty for just a split second and then began nodding vigorously at Zuu. Hell, if they almost died he would just unsummon them, or even lend them a hand. Afterall, they are just my puppets to use as I see fit, right? he thought hesitantly.

Jubaku shook his head and blanked his mind of his misgivings, now was not the time to figure out minion/master morality, now was the time to capture that mole. "Well don't just stand there! The mole is right in that tunnel!" Jubaku said encouragingly at his demons, "now get in there and keep the mole busy while I set up some jutsu to defeat him!"

Without any further delay, the twin demons jumped down onto the rocky wall, running along it as best as they could towards the hole, not expecting the monstrous mole they are about to face.

Angry moles didn't exactly make much more noise than happy moles, contrary to popular belief. It wasn't like it let out a roaring cry of discontent at the explosion that collapsed it's tunnel, instead the sound of drilling and tunneling stopped, the mole quiet as it's tunnel collapsed into nothingness behind it. The two eagerly running along the wall of the cliff were soon the only noise to be heard. The plan -surely- couldn't have defeated the mole so quickly...But of course not, actually. This mole was not to be fucked with. Literally.

The drilling sound of rock being torn apart suddenly rang out, but even louder this time and the rock began to shake with the twin demons and Coal standing on it, the tunneling sound growing louder and more earth-shaking as it progressed until, finally, an explosion of rock and earth, dust and a few other things associated with a metal clawed mole suddenly slicing open a layer of hard rock like paper were heard, seen, felt and probably, at close ranges, tasted. The mole burst out of an area just beside it's original tunnel, inbetween Coal and the two demon twins, which sent a shower of rocks and dust around to buffet all three.

The mole's body was half out of the hole and up close it looked huge, it's claws gleaming as they gripped the side of the hole. It sniffed the air for a split second before it's features seemed to dark and it suddenly pushed away from the cliff side and down towards the ground, putting both claws out as it spiraled through the air.

And then with another massive shower of earth, dust and rock, landed on the ground and seemed to hide inside the dust cloud, waiting.

Coal remained poised and calm as the rumbling beneath his feet grew louder and more violent with every passing moment. He had hoped that the mole would have simply turned around and tried to vacant the cliff using the capsized tunnel, where he and Jubaku's demons could have easily ambushed it without any warning, but instead the over sized mammal burst through the jagged rocks that separated the Tenma and the demon twins.

Dust and debris was kicked up as the rampaging mole tore through the cliff face like an exceptionally warm butter through especially soft butter, which made an ambush impossible to pull off.

But the young Tenma's face remained as emotionless as ever as he covered his face with his arms and felt small, sharp rocks tear through his clothing and leave shallow scrapes along his body. Slowly the shinobi brought his hands back down to his sides and glared down at the makeshift smokescreen the ridiculously large mole had created simply by falling such an unimpressive distance.

"Let me loose," came an almost indistinguishable whisper from inside of Coal himself, which caused a rare spasm that anyone else would consider surprise to cross the Tenma's face.

"Just for a few moments."

Coal ignored the voice and regained his composure quickly. The Chuunin's mind reeled inside of his skull as he tried to come up with a plan that could bring the mole down. Or at least make it vulnerable to the twins' attacks.

After a few moments of consideration Coal made his decision. "Do you think you two could draw him out into the open?" he asked the demon twins standing about ten strides away without even looking at them. "I just need to keep my eyes on him for a few moments," he added as both of his eyes took a more auburn appearance.

Issekigan - Discerning Eye

The doujutsu of the Tenma clan furthers the clan member's demonic appearance. While the doujutsu is active, the clan member's irises change to a dark red color. Whenever they look at someone's body, it appears as if that person has their name inscribed into their chest area. This can be seen in a multitude of ways, depending on what the person is wearing. If they aren't wearing anything, that person's name appears as an easily readable tattoo on the chest area. If they are wearing a shirt, then it appears in the designs of the shirt, but in an easily readable format for the Tenma. Due to this, the Tenma must get a good forward glance at the target, rather than just look from behind. The doujutsu barely takes any chakra to keep active.
