[Mission] Glass Houses

Post by Lacarix » Sun Jul 06, 2014 6:23 pm

“It will be mine.” He admitted, a chuckle following soon behind these words as the hooded man sat upon a makeshift throne in the dingy room, looking over a map of the Rock country. His blade stroked across the map until it came it to Iwagakure, it plunged deep into the paper shredding out the village from existence.

It was a beautiful spring morning in Iwagakure, the sun was large and bright hanging hive above the village. Children laughing and playing, the civilians happy and enjoying life unbeknownst to the criminal organisation, even the village itself didn’t know the intentions of this organisation. The intel that came back was it was a simple gang who seemed to be causing a little bit of trouble a few genin would be enough, the group were to meet within the village walls, they were in for a surprise.

Today is the day! Finally we get to go out in some action. . Amaya had been looking forward to paying back the criminals that attacked her and Hoten the other week. Thanks to her medical skills the chuunin has recovered nicely and was back at full speed. She had held one of the prisoners detained. She wanted him to stay there for a week in silence like they did to her when she came back to Iwa. This was to isolate the prisoner and then interrogate him, of course the prisoner was fed. Screw that guy

The chuunin cracked her neck as she pulled up the furred hood of a beautiful pelt poncho. It didn't look expensive, in fact it made her appear more like a commoner as it hid most of her ninja equipments. She opted to wear black boots instead of ninja seals to avoid giving of her ninja position and lastly black gloves because it's you don't want to touch garbage with your hands. Nice! The chuunin was just kidding, these where just poor misguided people. That meant that there had to be someone on top leading these people, turning them into whatever they are. The chuunin shivered.

No! Enough She had to be serious, she had requested for outsource help and Iwa had responded with one of their finest genin. Top of the class ninja Akano, Shin. He was here to be H.N.K's helping hand and muscle man. While Amaya would act as squad leader, Hoten as her eyes while Tegakari would stay back at the Hq and interrogate the suspect. She was sure that the man had secrets to spill, but refused to wait for him to tell and just wanted to jump out to the action and have hands on the battle. She felt more at home here, where she could make sure that things went right. "Take care Tegakari, i will return soon" She closed the office door and left Tegakari in her office right next to the interrogation room. Once outside the chuunin skipped down to where she hoped Shin and Hoten had arrived.

"All right! Are you guys updated? Because i hope you read the mission, because i will only go over the information now" She looked at both of the ninjas, she could clearly see that Shin was a bigger threat than Hoten, or at least visually. So this is Akano, Shin. . She had heard about him, but never actually seen him in person. She wondered how he would far in this mission, at least he was known to pull his weight and pull through. Hoten on the other hand she would make sure to back up if needed. No one dies today! She didn't say it out loud as she didn't want to jinx it.

Shatter! He was late! Just perfect his first mission with the HNK and he's late. This didn't work for him at all. As to why he was late, his grandfather insisted that he do more Garaton practice as the old man had already expressed; his talent for his own bloodline technique was horrid. Hoten was getting that a lot lately. About how he didn't have any kind of talent and his talent would only deminish. Hoten took it as a crack at his love interest being out of the clan but he didn't have time to let that bother him. As soon as he was finished with the arbitrary training he started running toward the rendezvous.

He read all about the mission as soon as he got it. Apparently some sort of crime organization had moved into Iwa and would be causing trouble. As an organization about helping Iwa and taking care of citezen's welfare, HNK looked at this organization as an enemy. Hoten agreed. This village had way too many problems to be harassed by common criminals. He had to do something to stop them, even if it was only providing support. He kept running through the streets on foot. He sensed that this mission would require some sort of stealth, therefore he didn't want to bring Garasu no Hime. All how he looked at it, a white stallion didn't exactly describe stealth. Plus he had seen how the criminals operated before. As a mob, using surrounding tactics and numbers to overwhelm. It was irritating how well these thieves worked together. Worse was how well their tactics worked, he and Amaya bearly made it out. He kept running until he found the spot. Panting he rested on his knees. He already saw Amaya approaching. This wasn't good. A subordinate wasn't allowed to keep the leader waiting. When she walked up to him he immediately bowed deeply.

"Sorry I'm late," he expressed solemnly.

Shin leaned against the wall, drumming his fingers on his shield. True, the orders had said midday and it was only a little past it now, but the teen wondered why he was the first to show up to a meeting for a mission for an organization at the organization's own headquarters.

His question went unanswered as the door was flung open, the energetic Shoshiki chuunin in command blowing into the room with a barrage of questions that had apparently been intended for a group, answered by the same silence and a curious look from Shin that hung on the air before the door opposite opened again, revealing another blonde, this time a miniscule... genin? The kid had to be genin, everything about him screamed child, right down to the toy bow on his back.

So this is why they'd called him in. Two of the village's precious bloodlines had picked a fistfight with a street gang and someone upstairs wanted to make sure they didn't get run through by someone who could actually use a sword. He was under the command of someone obviously younger, a tomboy with something to prove, and working alongside a literal child, one who had probably been held back by his mother to fix his hair before letting him go out to play. Shin swallowed, literally and metaphorically, suppressing the negative thought.

No, that wasn't right. These were still shinobi, his countrymen. If the chuunin was a chuunin, there was a reason, and an archer with any skill at all was good backup for a close ranks brawler like himself. All he had to do was engage long enough to let the bloodliners go to work.

Inhale. Focus on the fight. Exhale. Get the job done.

“We've read the report, but what kind of numbers are we expecting? Are they trained fighters, do they use tactics? Do we know if the group has a definitive leader?”

Leaning against Amaya's desk Tegakari waved in a nonchalant manner as the chuunin left the room, "Have fun Amaya, I know how you love hitting people," as he spoke the words he thought back to their previous training session, specifically how she had practically tried to kill him. The genin chucked a bit to himself as she left the room. Due to his experiences working cases with his father combined with his lack of close range combat skill it made sense to him that he would be left to interrogate their main, strike that, their only suspect. He'd seen countless interrogations performed by his father and Amaya thought this made him better suited for the task. Still, he couldn't help but think it might have been a mistake to leave their only real genjutsu specialist back at the base. Oh well, he thought, I suppose this is just a group of wannabe thugs anyway.

Tegakari made his way around the desk and sat in his superior's chair. Oh how he would have loved to see the look on her face at that moment. Of course it would be a short lived moment before Amaya would either yell at him to move or hit him, but it would have been glorious all the same. Leaning his staff against the back wall Tegakari looked over the paperwork and files on the subject looking for any useful information to use in the interrogation. The man had been detained for just over a week with no outside contact other than meals being delivered to him and had been caught personally by Amaya and Hoten during a certain incident that involved the chuunin being hit upside the head with a lead pipe. It was a most interesting and quite humorous read to the genin but Tegakari would have to look over the full report at another time. For now he had an job to do.

Retrieving his staff and tucking the man's personnel file under his arm the boy made his way over to the door to the interrogation room. He tapped the door twice with his staff as he approached it, calling out to the man inside, "Hope you're decent pal, I'm coming in." The phrase had been more for his own amusement than anything else as such a prisoner would most likely he chained down in some way or at the very least handcuffed to a chair or stone block, with the arms separated of course. Iwagakure was far from a lenient place to get arrested. Without waiting any longer Tegakari pushed open the door and entered the room.

Amaya looked at Hoten and chuckled, always late but he always came. That was what was important to her in the end, the chuunin looked back at the precinct and then continued. "We have reasons to believe that this small criminal organization is based outside of the village and sometime sneak in to steal as much items as possible. Our job is to find their operation and strike down before they get to perform another steal. . " Amaya scratched her left for head as she felt the minor scar left by the pipe to the head, her first scar. Not from missions, no, those she got away scott free but a freaking out of nowhere pipe to the face got her. So much for my track record. . Whatever, maybe that's to show how little looks really mean. . She sighed before continuing.

"Now. . There's multiple ways we can deal with this mission. First, we can take the long way and try to ask around in villages nearby, or where Wana picks up their scent." Amaya crossed her arms as she kicked the door behind her open, closing her eyes as she took a deep breath.

"This is Wana"

Her hyena stepped out, clad in the special heat vest the laughing exotic creature was wearing, otherwise it wouldn't survive these harsh weathers. Amaya barely could cope with it, wasn't it for her molten glass abilities she would probably freeze to death. Reached for the inside of her cloak and pulled out a scroll, there she had a drawing of Hidden stone, she figured that it would be good to have a map. You never know She chuckled, now she figured that Wana could work as a smaller mount for Hoten, she figured that together they could work as a team. She needed him to be Shins eyes while she was going to check the skies, try to figure the fastest routes. This mission would most likely take a day or two, especially if they where going to check different villages.

"I hope you guys brought enough stuff for you missions, oh! Hoten!" Amaya tossed a sealed food container, since he was part of H.N.K she had prepared a meal for him, she had spare food for Shin as well but just waved it in front of him before placing it back in her pack. "If you guys are ready to go, then we should proceed to head out the gates" She said as she would lead them out of the village.

Hoten took a deep breath of relief after his apology was accepted. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous. After all Amaya was completely different from his grandfather who would scold him intensely. She was much more... Relaxed. Hoten however wasn't completely relaxed. He hadn't been on too many missions before, and he had never been on a C ranked mission either. The sheer thought of the increased danger made his blood flow just a little bit faster. Most of him was scared, however the rest of him was excited. There would be no way he would fail this. His unbreakable will would never let him down.

Hoten's confidence began to increase steadily until he noticed another face in the hideout. He was never certain of the number of people actively participating in HNK. After all he was a new member and besides Amaya, Tegakari was the only person he knew. It was possible that this was another new member however for some reason Hoten doubted it. He scrutinized the other man carefully. He didn't seem to be a genin, in fact he seemed rather skilled. He looked tough, which wasn't actually rare in Iwa where everything was tough. Hoten could tell however their skill levels were very different and he wouldn't want to get in this guy's way. "Shatter," Hoten murmured quietly. "Hello, I'm Shoshiki Hoten, I hope we can work well together," he said then bowed to the stranger.

He began to realise however he must be the weakest link. He lacked strength, speed and stamina. He wasn't even too great at the ninja arts. His bloodline ability was also possessed by Amaya. This meant that he had nothing to offer. Hoten gripped the bow on his back and was reminded that he had another skillset. His archery did make him somewhat unique in this team but his skill was far from anything to brag about. He had never shot a living target before and wasn't sure if he could. He wasn't sure if he had the skill to act as a proper fight. Shatter, he doubted he could even offer proper support. Hoten was never talented and he doubted he could make it on a mission this important or this intense. He continued to doubt himself until he was snapped out of it by the look of an object heading for him.

"Gah!" Hoten shouted as something smacked him in the face.

He looked down dumbly, rubbing his cheek. A container of food tumbled to the floor in front of him. He stared at it for a moment but it was because he realised he was panting. The young Shoshiki was already panicking before the mission even started. How lame was he? "Shatter. Thanks Amaya-chan." he muttered while turning red. His cheeks were hot. The boy stooped down and picked up the container and quickly stuffed it into the pack on his back. His gray eyes caught sight of Wana in a jacket. He regarded it for a moment before backing away. He didn't like the laughing beast at all but he wasn't going to excite it or embarass himself any further. He didn't look up at Amaya or the other guy, he couldn't bring himself to. Then he realised Wana could probably be more useful than him. Shatter.

So we know nothing. Great.

With not nearly as many of his questions answered to his satisfaction as he'd have preferred, Shin's train of thought was already turning sour as the chuunin opened the door to reveal what was either a very deformed wolf or some exotic breed of ninken he hadn't heard of. Well, here was one apparent explanation for her promotion. Either way, the air in the room changed between the two as the animal's eyes met Shin's. He instinctively put a hand on the mace at his side. Logic would dictate that the dog was trained if she allowed it inside the building, but the manner it projected was one of authority, the spoiled air of an animal that's been given too much rein by its trainer. Wana's lip curled at the genin's continued stare, and received one in return; Shin wasn't in the habit of allowing himself to be cowed, and that went doubly so for anything less than human.

His attention was diverted, however, by a small voice in front of him.

Shin did what he could to mask a bemused look as the kid archer introduced himself, practically oozing the general incompetence of youth. Shin stuck out his hand to shake. It was times like this that he begrudgingly acknowledged the results of his strict upbringing. While he might have been no more skilled at this kid's age, he at least had the certainty that his father's training would produce results. The genin across from him obviously had no faith in his own abilities.

Smack.

The poor kid was nailed in the face by a bento box his cousin (presumably) made and saw fit to fling at her subordinate. While he didn't much care for her carefree demeanor, experience had taught him that freewheeling shinobi of any rank beyond genin were usually those who were competent enough to handle most routine missions. Hopefully she was capable of dropping the act when the situation called for it. Sensing that the incident had somehow demoralized his newest charge (the kid's reflexes apparently weren't great), Shin gave him a passing clap on the shoulder as he made for the door.

“If this is everything, let me just grab my pack.”

By 'pack', Shin was referring to the canvas cube in the corner that might have been mistaken for furniture by anyone not familiar with the surroundings. Granted, it was almost the size of Hoten, but only because a tent, a thick animal hide blanket/all-weather cloak, flint and tinder, cooking utensils, a few days worth of dried goods, rope, and some basic medical supplies took a little bit more space than a picnic lunch.

Settling the bundle on his back with his shield gracefully resting on top like the lopsided shell of a tortoise, Shin made for the door.

[Mission] Glass Houses

Post by Lacarix » Mon Jul 28, 2014 9:20 am

As the young man read the papers, it read that he was part of a thieving crew and that he’d had caused a skull injury on Amaya hitting her with a pipe. Nothing else was written on the file, little to no information had being collected on the man they didn’t even know if he was part of the group in question. The prisoner sat on the chair, it was small grey and a small light hung from the roof. His arms were bound behind the back with chains stuck to the floor. He had no injuries, least none that were visible. He looked up at the young blonde boy, hr couldn’t be any older than fifteen his mouth sprung open as laughter fell from his lips “They send a little boy?” he shook his head “They really are clueless aren’t they?” While Tegakari dealt with questioning the prisoner the rest of the group headed towards the gates of Iwa.

“State your name and business?” questioned the man in the Iwa uniform, he stood at the gate with another guard who seemed to be doing some sort of paper work. However on closer inspection he seemed to be doodling. Assuming Amaya gave him the information required he’d nod to the other guard who began looking through papers. He seemed to be chucking them around wildly obviously not able to find the right paper. This lasted for quite a while, eventually he found it “Yup they can go through.” The entire group left the village itself and would have to begin walking to a small district. The journey would take about forty minutes by foot, assuming they were quick.

Amaya showed the guard the rightful papers, "This should allow us passage to the outside, we are on official business. And these are my students" before taking her small crew on a journey towards the outside. With a deep inhale the woman and her band of misfits where ready to go out and find whatever had started this mess. Amaya knew that in order for H.N.K to save face they would need to find a perp and to save other people from getting dragged into this mess. Also the chuunin didn't really want to look bad in front of the others. She had started to gain some form of respect in the last couple of months so it was now or never.

"I hope you guys are ready, because it's now or never" Amaya crossed her arms and looked at Wana before turning her attention to Shin and then lastly at Hoten. She opted to go the fast route, even though Hoten would most likely lag behind, it wouldn't matter as they weren't really pressed on time at the moment. This meant that they would lag behind in their schedule but they could also pick up some new information along the way.

Hoten followed suit after Amaya and Shin. He wasn't entirely sure as to how he would be useful but he figured if he worried about it too much he would be less useful. He just had to focus on doing his task, and not falling behind too much. It really was hard to keep his head up when next to these two. And yet there were brasses even higher than them. How he would even achieve his goal to be the best in the village, he didn't even know. Shatter.

They made it all the way to the gates where they would be leaving the village. It was only another reason for added anxiety for Hoten. He hadn't ever been outside of the village. What with the roaming tribes and various beasts and barbarians. His grandfather only seemed to care about his general safety and so because of that the thought of leaving the village had at some point become taboo. He couldn't even imagine a world beyond the stone walls. Actually he could be it wasn't quite realistic. This was his first C ranked mission after all, he suppose there had to be a certain type of danger associated with it. This be the first of many times he would have to take risks as a shinobi. The boy tugged against his bow slung across his shoulder. It was a symbol of his own anxiety and a desperate grab for safety in a weapon he could barely use. However if he wanted to be useful. If he wanted to become the best, he had to get around that and try better than his best. Hoten took a deep breath, not quite focusing on the gate keepers or even Amaya. He was just focusing on calming his own mind and remember his own treasured nindo. To be unbreakable. He had to stay strong. Amaya's voice came through to him and he was sure he could do it now. No turning back.

"I'm ready."
