Thoughts in the Mist

Post by Black Rabbit » Wed Jul 08, 2009 6:36 pm

Walking around Kyruka found a nice wide open spot with a shallow river running down the middle of it. The place was surrounded by trees which in Kyruka's mind was a good place to train, relax or be ready for an ambush. He wasn't concerned though, he had other things on his mind and trying to get rid of them he decided to train on some jutsu. As he bent down over the river and touched part of the water with two fingers and sent chakra flowing through them and as soon as he did the water began to turn to ice, he stopped though not wanting the entire river to turn into a glacier. Kyruka stepped back and began to make some handseals. Once finished he calmly said, "Dense Cannon", as he said that he felt that odd feeling arise in his throat before a ball of water shot from his mouth.

As the name of the technique suggested the ball of water was rather dense, thus when it shot into the water it made a big splash. Standing up straight once more, he smiled softly before feeling a little bit of wetness on his cheek. Looking up slowly he found that the sky had been engulfed by greyness. Walking over to a nearby tree and sitting down, his back resting against the trunk. Hopefully the tree he was under and the trees next to him would provide some cover should it start to rain.

Thoughts in the Mist

Post by Black Rabbit » Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:19 pm

As Kyruka watched the grey clouds floating above in the sky, they began to grow darker in colour and soon enough rain began to start to spit down on the ground. "No surprise..." Kyruka thought as he now sat cross legged underneath the tree. It had been some time since he had this sort of peace and quiet, that moment in time when you could just sit back and not have to worry about anything and just think. Think about the past, the present the future. Anything. Kyruka thought of one thing in particular, or rather two, his parents. How long had it been? Four years? He had lost count as time flew by so fast. "It was four years ... I became a Chunnin on that day." The thought echoed through his head like a bouncing ball ricocheting in a small square box. A quiet tear ran down the left side of his face. Was this what happened to those protecting what mattered to them? Of all the people in the Village, only himself, his sister and a few friends grieved. No one else cared.

Clenching his teeth in bitter anger, Kyruka took off his forehead protector and stared down at it. His hand gripped it tightly as he stared at that symbol on the front. The Mist hadn't progressed far, the Mizukage did what they could but they were just like the rest. They wanted pure control. A kunai soon appeared in his free hand. Why? Why did they do this? Why did it have to be this way? Why ... "Why am I doing this?!" Kyruka shouted out, mostly at himself however. The tip of his kunai rested just next to the symbol of the Mist on his protector. His hand relaxed and the kunai fell. That wasn't they way, becoming a traitor or Missing-Nin served no purpose. Just because he wanted Kiri to change didn't mean he had to go to extreme measures.

There are other ways after all.

Thoughts in the Mist

Post by Black Rabbit » Wed Aug 07, 2013 12:25 am

A soft sigh escaped Kyruka as he tied the forehead protector back around his head, giving a tight pull to keep it secure. Why did he even think of doing such a thing? Did he want an early grave? "Is that why ... People become Missing-Nin? To make a change?" The thought was a good question and in some cases it would make sense, but was it really the only reason to leave a Village because something didn't go your way? His parents were both Hunter-Nin of the Mist, they tracked down the Missing and disposed of them and thus keeping the Mist safe. They weren't like the other Mist ninja though, they didn't condone violence or bloodshed. They just did what had to be done. At least, that's what Kyruka believed. His sister would know more about them as she was four years older than him.

His eyes shut slowly, his head resting back against the trunk of the tree as the sound of rain surrounded him. It wasn't particularly heavy, for once. It's more or less what Kyruka saw every day, that and blood. Rain and blood, such a way to live. It was then that he remembered a goal he made about a year ago, something that he wanted to accomplish. He was going to follow his parents, he was going to become a Hunter. He was of the correct rank, he just needed the strength and skills. It was then that he began to think about the Hunter-Nin and ANBU respectively. They had similarities of course but the ANBU were different in a number of ways. "Hunters need to restrain ..." He thought and that's when idea came to mind.

Whilst he knew that the Hunter-Nin mostly killed their targets he had heard that sometimes Missing-Nin would be returned alive. If that was true then the Hunter would need something to constrain them or even ... Tie them up. Closing his eyes he placed his palms together and began to circulate some chakra into the middle of his palms. His idea was simple really. A Hunter has to be as mobile as possible; any equipment could hinder that even by the slightest amount. That's where jutsu comes in, something that can tie hands and feet with chakra such as a rope. After having concentrated the chakra into the middle of his palms, Kyruka began to slowly pull them away from each other, his eyes opening slowly. The idea had worked, a blue line of chakra was extending from one palm to the other and had a similar resemblance to that of a rope.

Thoughts in the Mist

It was working, the rope was increasing in length as his palms moved further apart. It began to thicken as well becoming more like a rope. "Damn it!" Kyruka thought in annoyance as he lost concentration and the rope fell from his palms and simply withered away as he hadn't ended the technique properly. Sighing gently he looked about him and noticed the rain had slowed down to more of a drizzle now. That was something good at least. Once again Kyruka placed his palms together and began to concentrate chakra in the middle of each. He was hoping he could make the rope stronger and at least longer but most of all, finish the technique properly this time. The chakra was there and he began to mould it slightly as he pulled his palms away slowly, each end of the rope being created by both of his palms.

The chakra rope was stable and Kyruka was pleased as he soon began to spread his palms further apart a little faster now before he completed the jutsu properly. Each end of the rope slipped down and rested on his lap and stayed there. Smiling a little, Kyruka picked up the rope as he stood up. "Just need to test it now." He thought to himself before turning to the tree and finding a low hanging branch. Tossing one side over the branch, Kyruka tied the rope around it and found that it did in fact remain as it were. He bent down and picked up the kunai from earlier, that he hadn't placed back in his holster, and went to cut the rope with it. The kunai cut cleanly through, that was no good at all.

Frowning slightly, Kyruka tried once again. His palms together and this time he placed more chakra into his palms and began to mould the rope more this time. Now that he had the idea and rhythm going it was a lot easier than before. The rope was created, this time a bit longer than before and he tossed it over the branch like the last one. Kyruka tied it as tight as he could and waited for a moment just to make sure it didn't fall or break. After a few moments he deemed that it was sturdy enough and once again went to cut the rope with his kunai. Only to find that his kunai would not cut the rope at all. The blade would sink in but the rope would resist any cutting. "Excellent." He thought to himself as he placed the kunai back in his holster.

A rope like this would come in handy, especially for a Hunter. Whilst it may not be used often, one could never be too careful.

Thoughts in the Mist

Kyruka clenched his fist in approval of the little achievement of creating a rope out of chakra. Whilst it wasn't much of a huge deal it was still something that could possibly prove quite useful later on. His mind was set on his goal of joining the Hunter-Nin but he had to at least train some more before he attempted to join. The skills they had would surely be taught to him. Nevertheless, it was good to have a variety of techniques. Start off with the simple and work your way up. Kyruka began to think of various scenarios that a Hunter-Nin may come across, one in particular crossed his mind. Close-combat was bound to happen at some point at some time. He smiled to himself and turned to the tree he had previously been sitting against.

He charged chakra into his fist, this would hurt but the outcome would outweigh the pain. With his fist engulfed by chakra he began to punch the tree, cringing every so often as his bare hand connected with the bark of the tree with some force. The chakra helping slightly but that wasn't the aim here. The aim was to use this chakra to create an additional force behind the punch. He cursed as he withdrew his hand, shaking it a little before he looked down at it. It had some grazes and cuts but was otherwise still useable, unless he decided to keep punching the tree with this fist. With this in mind, Kyruka changed to his left hand instead.

Charging chakra into his left fist now, an additional amount this time to help protect it, he began once again to punch the tree. The bark started to crack and chip away, just what Kyruka was looking for but it needed to be one single strike that caused a moderate amount of damage to the trunk. Gritting his teeth a little he increased the forces of his punch and let the chakra around his fist build up. After each connection with his fist, he would of course recharge it with chakra. An explosive burst of chakra from a single strike would certainly help in a close combat situation. Stopping for a moment he took a breath and stretched, making sure to flex his hands and fingers so they didn't cramp. They were sore but that was the point of training otherwise nothing would improve.

Feeling a little recovered he once again charged chakra into his right fist this time. He adjusted his stance and let the chakra build before launching his arm at the tree, his fist rushing towards the trunk. Only for part of the trunk to explode off, chips of bark flew about. Kyruka blinked a few times, he hadn't exactly expected that kind of result so maybe he put a little too much chakra into his fist for training on a tree. The tree itself would still stand as the part missing was only a small piece, compared to the rest of the tree. "I should - ow! ... Guess I shouldn't have practiced on a tree, best head home and get it seen too then." He said, his fist now aching from what he had put it through. With that said he then began his way back to the Village and to his home, hopefully his sister would patch his hands up.
