No one could figure out how the boy escaped in the night. There had been security; there was always security. He had been in a room for questioning, left along for hours in the hopes that he would have a mental breakdown and confess. But when the officials returned, he was already gone.

There was already a force searching for him within the village, but not many were convinced the boy would stay willingly in the village after being accused of such crimes. Everyone knew that Kirigakure was not merciful to its criminals.

The two genin were given a picture of the suspect, one Aisaka Ten. He had short, dark hair and bright green eyes; he wouldn't be exactly easy to find in a crowd. The pursuers had a lead: someone had seen a young man fitting Ten's description leaving the village and heading west. Kimura and Ryota were informed to head in the same direction towards the seaside villages. A kid like him would probably attempt to flee to the mainland.

Ryota sighs has he walks to the gate of the village. He has been teamed up with another genin to hunt down an escaped criminal who had fled the village. He was told Kimaru would met him at the gate so they could chase after the criminal. How he had escaped from the prison was did not matter to him all he cared was that he had committed crimes in the village.

Kimi was already waiting at the gates for her mission partner, feeling more than a little impatient about having to stand around while an escaped criminal was on the loose. If it had been up to her, they'd have already been headed toward the seaside villages... even though she knew that it was important to meet up with one's mission partner before heading out.

Once she saw the genin approaching, she nearly sighed in relief. Now they could get going.

The two genin were completely in control about exactly when they would leave in search for the criminal. They had already garnered permission to leave, and no one would stop them at that point.

Just outside the village, they would find the lightly worn road leading directly out. It wasn't mean to lead them to any other villages; almost soon as the path started, it ended to give way to dirt and grass and was impossible to distinguish. Hidden villages had to stay hidden, after all.

The genin wouldn't have much problem heading in the suggested direction. They could, of course, deviate from heading west - the direction in which the guy fitting the criminal's description was seen heading - but there would be little point in that. The nearest seaside village was several miles away. The shinobi needed to quickly meet up and start on their mission.

He walks over to kimaru "Hello i am guessing you are kimaru my partner for tracking and catching the criminal who had run away. I am Ryota Zenkai" He stated as he stood infront of her. "I am ready to go out as soon as you are." He said as he looked around getting ready to track down the man. He had been given a picture of him so identifing him wouldnt be hard it was going to be finding him.

"Pleased to meet you," Kimi said politely, and started walking directly after the words left her mouth. The longer they stood around talking, the more distance was put between them and their target. "Come on, Ryota, let's get going so we can catch this guy." Perhaps she was more than a little excited, but who could really blame her? Her very first mission! "He was seen heading west, right? So we should go before he gets farther off."

As the shinobi headed west, the terrain became less of a marsh and more like wetlands. The paths were waterlogged and barely worn, making the journey a bit more difficult for those who didn't have a good sense of direction or purpose.

If the shinobi were at a comfortable run, with their speed, the nearest civilian village was almost two hours out of the way. It was a small town, somewhat poor and aged, but still a comfortable place to live. It was the sort of place in which nearly everyone knew everyone else, and outsiders were viewed with scrutiny and caution. If the shinobi stopped here, they could certainly get going in their search. If not, they could head west out of the village and towards the next.

"Well the walk might take a while to catch up with the guy so if we are going to be fighting together wouldnt it be a good idea to get to know how each other fights?" He turns asking Kimaru as they headed down the road. He hadnt had much time to learn about his partner before they were set off to find the criminal. As he really knew that her element was fuuton. "I am a user of the raiton and taijutsu mix called Shock fists.

Even as her partner spoke, Kimi urged them into a run. Not a fast one, mind you, but a good, steady pace that would get them to their destination in a timely manner. She really wasn't much of a talker, at least not around people she didn't know... but Ryota seemed determined to keep a conversation going. Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course.

"I use mostly taijutsu, the High Style," she said after a moment's hesitation. "Plus some ninjutsu techniques with my sword." This had to be the first time in a while that Kimi had talked to a fellow genin who wasn't following the path of a swordsman. It felt a little strange to think about it.

As the shinobi traveled and chatted, they met no opposition on the road. They passed one or two travelers, all of whom were bewildered by the two kids running past them with such speed and determination. No one stopped them, no one questioned them. Their trip to the village was all but too easy.

Once they entered the small village, the people on the outskirts noticed them. They appeared skittish and anxious at the sight of the kid's shinobi equipment. Their actions clearly showed that, one way or another, they had experience with shinobi. Although they were young, almost everyone avoided them. Eyes fell to the ground, and villagers hastily busied themselves with their own tasks. They were rather cold and distant people, so it would be difficult getting any information out of them.

Ryota looks around as they walk into the village. It looked like no one here liked the shinobi and didnt trust them. "It looks like no one here will talk to us Kimaru." He told her. He looks around the village seeing if anyone matched the person they were looking for. He deiceds to go for broke and raises his voice. "Excuse me everyone in the village we are looking for a violent criminal who may be hiding in this town any and all help will be well compensated for they're time." He knew that if morals didnt help them the promise of money might loosen a few lips.

"Excuse me----," Ryota was cut short. Kimi had quickly reacted to his shouting by clamping her hand over his mouth. "Sorry, but I think it would be a little more wise to not go about screaming about anything related to this mission..." Kimi's whisper was so quite that only Ryota could hear her. "... Let's try something different. We have only just arrived to this town it's very possible we could find somebody that wouldn't mind helping us... Without attracting too much attention."

That was a close one, Kimi thought to herself. A couple moments later and maybe the criminal would have known what the Shinobi were there for. After all, who knew, maybe he had comrades lurking nearby.

Although Kimi had tried to stop her partner from announcing their business in the village, he had captured some of the villagers' attention. Many stared at him coldly as if sizing him up, and then went about their normal business. Most of the villagers didn't seem very eager to help a couple of child shinobi around the village when there was work to be done.

There were, however, a few men and women who seemed somewhat interested in what the young genin were doing there. The nearest was a man in his fifties, his cataract-ridden eyes darting nervously towards the two genin. Others included two middle-aged women working a cart boasting various vegetables. There were, of course, a few people passing by who could also talk to the shinobi.

Though there were many people with possible information, time was certainly a factor. The longer they took to act, the longer this mission would take, and the distance the criminal put between them would undoubtedly increase.

He gave Kimi a small glare when she clamps her hand over his mouth. He listens to what she had to say and gave a small nod. It made sense maybe not telling everyone what they wanted to do was smarter then yelling it to the village. He looks over the villagers most of them would probably be little to no help to them but a few looked like they might atleast talk to them. He nods over to the two women at the carts and wispers to Kimaru, "Alright you're right we cant annouce it. Those two by the cart look like they might talk to us."

Kimi nodded,agreeing that the women would at least talk to them if nothing else... and in a village of people who wouldn't, the women were the best thing they had. If not them, Kimi would walk over to the middle-aged man as well. They had to hurry or the criminal could get too far ahead of them. "Okay, as long as you be careful with what you say. Nobody here looks friendly, after all."

With that in mind, Kimi went over to the vegetable cart and pretended to look through the wares. "Excuse me, but we're looking for someone... has anyone suspicious passed this way recently?" she said softly, barely glancing up. To anyone else, it would seem as though she were just perusing their wares... which was what she was going for.

"Suspicious?" One of the women said as she looked down upon the two genin. "Not day goes by when someone who isn't suspicious walks through here."

"You're going to have to be more specific," the other woman chimed. "You're also going to have to buy something. We have to make a living, shinobi." She said the last words as if she was uttering a curse, her eyes darkening with anger as wll.

Ryota sighs at the womans words and reachs into his pocket pulling out a picture and 100 ryo. He knew the two women probably wouldnt budge unless they gave them their bribe. "I'll take some carrots please Ma'am." He tells them handing over the money. "And any help with finding this person." He says showing them the picture.

Kimi frowned worriedly. Though she had often been warned about civilians that actually disliked shinobi, this was the first time that she had encountered any... so she just kept quiet, allowing Ryota to do whatever he was going to do about getting information from the women. She just hoped he'd hurry, because who knew how much of a lead their target had on them to begin with, without the time they were giving him from stopping in the village and talking to reluctant vendors.

One of the women visibly tensed as she saw the picture, and then immediately turned her head to fetch the carrots. "Don't know who that is," the other one said. "He's not from this village, that's for sure, especially since he's wearing that headband thing."

While the women talked, her partner hastily gathered two carrots and placed them on a wicker basket for the boy to take. "Yeah," she said, her voice about an octave higher. "We've never seen that boy before. So why don't you just get going?"

This was getting them no where. Ryota gives the two ladys a small nod and picks up the carrots. With the dislike of the shinobi of this village he didnt think eating them was the best idea. "Are you sure you havnt seen him?" He asks the two with a suspicuos look. He wanted to belive them and be on his way with kimi but they had no leads. He glances over at Kimi to see if she has any ideas on what to do.

"The sooner we get information about the one we're looking for, the sooner we'll be out of your village," Kimi promised, her gaze focused on the woman who gave them the carrots. She was acting suspiciously, for one... and Kimi was just as ready to get out of the village and on their way as the women were to see them go. She didn't stick around where she wasn't wanted, especially when there was something far more important that required her attention.

The two women gave each other a quick glance, looking more and more nervous by the second. The one who had placed the carrots into the basket fidgeted uncomfortably, while the other one seemed to be making sure no one was listening.

Finally, after a few moments of unbearable silence, one of the women spoke up. "I saw someone that kind of looked like him this morning."

"Noriko!"

"Early this morning. Granted, the boy I saw didn't look nearly as...neat as the one you have. He looked rougher." As the woman spoke, the other looked as if she was on the verge of panic. She had never had many dealings with shinobi, but the few she did have were always unpleasant. She and Noriko had to quickly get rid of the kids before they caused trouble.

"Go check the inn on the next street," she said, her voice only slightly above a whisper. "If he's still here, he might be there."

The inn she spoke of was on an adjacent street. It was an old, scarcely used thing that not many of the locals had reason to visit. It would be hard to miss; there was a large sign reading "Awazaki Inn" above the entrance.

"Thank you miss Noriko." Ryota said with a nod after the woman had told them about the person. He turns back to look at Kimi and nods as he starts walking away. The two women had lied to them eariler about not having seen who they were after but they had told them anyway so Ryota decied to just leave it at that. "Well Kimaru lets hope he is still at the inn."

Kimi bowed quickly to the women and then hurried to catch up with her partner. Even with their distrustful eyes and their rudeness, the women had still helped them, and Kimi was always polite... even to those who didn't return the gesture. When the duo reached the other street, she gestured to the sign and glanced at Ryota. "That must be the inn they were talking about," she said quietly.

The genin arrived at the inn rather quickly. Two people stood just outside of the inn, and both appeared to be employees. One of the men looked distressed as he raised his voice to the other. As the genin moved closer, they would be able to hear bits of the conversation.

"...just let anyone into my inn, why don'tcha! Askin' for trouble! What was stolen?"

"Pretty much...anything of some value that wasn't bolted now. Not a lot, but...."

"It doesn't matter how much! You should have known!" As the man opened his mouth to continue his furious rant, he turned and noticed the two genin approaching. He immediately hushed, his face reddening rapidly as his eyes flickered between their hitai-ate and their faces. "Oi! What the hell do you want? You come to steal from me, too?"

Oi, Very sorry for being so late i had things to do lie school work so please forgive me.

The converstaion was intresting to Ryota. It was probably the guy they were looking for who had stolen everything. As they approched the two noticed the genin and thought they were going to steal from them as well.

"No we are not here to take anything but some information, We are looking for a criminal and i belive it was the same person who has stolen from you." He tells them holding up the picture for them to see.
