Ice Mist training

Frosty walks out into the mist filled woods surrounding Kirigakure, the smell of mold and fungus heavy in the thick moist air. He walks further out towards his favorite training area, a small clearing surrounded by trees with a small spring in the center that is often the source of drinking water for the area’s fauna. A young fawn runs off as he enters the clearing disappearing into the shadows of the woods and a frog jumps into the pond disappearing in its murky depths.

Frosty stands in the mist and practices forming ice from the mist. He starts off small creating enough snow for a snow ball which he promptly eats. He smiles as he enjoys his chilled snack using it to increase the water in his body. Frosty focuses his hyouton chakra in his mouth then makes a set of simple hand signs. He exhales outward releasing a pile of snow. He frowns at the result seeing as the snow is thicker particles than what he as aiming for. He tries again inhaling the mist to use as a medium for his jutsu. He focuses on turning the water droplets into little shards of ice. He breathes out after performing the needed hand signs. Again a small pile of snow is all that comes out.

He eats some of the snow again and thinks on how to make the particles float and stay in the air without clumping. He changes the hand signs he uses adding a more complex sequence. He exhales again, this time creating a 3x3x3 block of soft fluffy snow that allows him to walk through it as if it were mist. He smiles knowing he’s getting closer. He exhales again blowing harder, trying to put more space between the particles. Again a 3x3x3 block of snow is made, however this one collapses as soon as he touches it. Getting frustrated he makes a tiny snowflake in his palm and looks at it.
Analyzing the snowflake he tries to figure out how to break it down. He runs hyouton chakra through it which only makes it grow as it collects water particles. He gets an idea and sends a surge of chakra though the snow flake causing it to shatter. He looks at the tiny ice shards that are left behind. ”Perfect, That’s the size I am going for.” He does a small little victory dance.

He makes a set of hand seals and focuses large amounts of chakra in his mouth as he exhales he overcharges the snow crystals in his mouth making them shatter. In front of him is a 1x1x1 square of ice crystals. He simply frowns looking at the tine cloud. ” I can do better than this, I know I can.” Irritated with his pathetic attempt, Frosty tries again only to achieve the same result. HE starts trying to find a balance in direction of chakra flow, trying to add chakra to creating snow and less to breaking the particles apart. His next series of attempts had mixed results, some creating snow, others releasing small amounts of ice mist.

Sweating Frosty takes off his black shirt exposing his scarred chest and arms, his starved body exposing his ribs. He looks down at his stomach and feels guilty for not eating more like he promised Yukiko he would. He knew she loved him and made a mental note to eat when he got home and to take better care of himself. He thought of her beautiful face and remembered why he was out here training. With a look of pure determination he recast the jutsu picturing in his mind the exact result he wanted. He exhales forcefully, blowing out the jutsu a good distance away. He gets close and stops short of get a face full of ice shards realizing the mist in front of him is made entirely of tiny ice shards. He had successfully made a 3x3x3 cloud of Ice Mist.

He smiles happy with his success before realizing this could hurt the local fauna. He reaches into his kunia pouch and pulls one out. He wraps a paper bomb around the handle. He tosses the kunia into the center then quickly hides behind a nearby tree covering his ears. The paper bomb goes off blasting the ice shards apart and making the cloud dissipate. He takes out an empty scroll and records the jutsu on it. He heads home stopping by a ramen bar to eat on his way, keeping his promise to Yukiko.
