[Mission] No Parking on the Dance Floor

The path that the previous had taken was one that was easy to follow, given the map that they had drawn for the Jounin. They had done their best to mark the spots where they had had interactions with the ninja. There was no guarantee where he would show up though and they had warned him over and over that he needed to be careful. His attacks had been well planned and precise, aimed at terrifying them, but e was good enough to top his jutsu from really hurting them. Someone with that much control was dangerous.

He would need to be on a sharp lookout for signs of the man that was haunting the woods. Preparation before heading off into the woods would be wise. There was no telling when danger might arise and without prep work, the fight might be over quicker than the ninja cared for it to be.

Ha. Ryoga gave little thought to his employers warnings. The fact that these ninja had strength in numbers and still lost was a sign of their weakness. Ryoga was amply prepared for any encounter he may face along the way, his sword at his side the only equipment he ever needed. Without a shred of fear, he would enter the forest a little before noon to begin the hunt.

As he traveled throughout the forest, he would carefully scan every tree top and any possible hiding places he may have noticed, such as tall grass or perhaps a body of water, attempting to leave absolutely no stone unturned. He also kept a close eye on his backside, not wanting to be ambushed from behind by his prey. Ryoga loved being in these situations, it was one of the few things that brought him happiness. His only complaint about his mission was it was to be a non lethal takedown. The thought brought him to a sigh, why not just kill the bastard and end the problem permanently? However, Kirigakure specifically said not to kill, and he would obey his orders as always. He would pause to take a break by a small river, but not before sensing the immediate area for any signs of a pulse. If nothing was felt, he would rest by the river for a few minutes, then continue on.

After doing the needed hand seals, the user channels their chakra into the surrounding area, travelling at a speed equal to the user's control, up to 30 yards away. This allows the user to sense nearby blood pulses. At this level, it doesn't allow for pinpoint movements, but it does allow for the user to sense direction and distance.

The immediate would hold no sign of life, aside from the Shinobi. Due to the nature of the woods, there would be no way to track a random set of footprints and have any luck at all with it. The chances of following the trail of the hiding ninja was as likely as following the trail of a bear. He was doing well though and he was heading in the right direction, gaining ground, and getting close to the area that the man had attacked the young ninjas. At the river, he would be about sixty yards from the location of the attacker. The man was not a patient one and it would be wise for the Shinobi to be prepared. The man sat high in a tree, waiting for someone to get close enough to play with. A very strong, very agile, bored individual was never a safe thing.

Ryoga was clearly enjoying this hunt as a smile crossed the mans face for a moment. After pausing for a brief moment by the river, he would proceed to check a bigger area with his stronger tracking abilities. If there were still no signs of life, he would proceed deeper into the forest, checking every so often for life in the area with his lower jutsu, so as to not waste chakra before the fight.

((I'm confused as to why you are using one of your blood techs when you don't have any of his blood? I do believe that is how that jutsu works.))

The man high in the tree decided that waiting for the ninja to reach him was much too boring. He slipped out of his tree, his feet making a solid thud on the ground beneath him. His neck cracking, he stood quietly, knowing that the ninja would be along shortly. He had several knives visible along his belt and he took two out, tossing them in the air, almost juggling them. He would be quite the sight to come in on, and maybe that was the point.

As the man lept from the tree, Ryoga quickly took notice of him, and everything about him. He heard his feet thud against the ground, saw him crack his neck, and witnessed him juggle a few knives as he stood in wait it seemed. Ryoga approached the man, standing about 30 feet in front of him, close enough to close the distance but far enough to dodge throwing weapons, which it appeared the man specialized in. "So you're the one causing trouble in the forest i assume? Is attacking lesser ranked ninja your idea of fun, or are you just too weak to fight someone that matters?" Ryoga stood, hand on his hilt, ready for it to turn deadly at a moment's notice, but he wouldn't make a move just yet.

The man grinned at his words. He loved it when they tried to act smart and tough. His knives stopped and were soon sheathed again, his hands empty. "You gotta poke the baby bear before the mama bear comes running kid. You're all they sent though? I doubt you'll be any more trouble than the team of Genin that were out here. And they were just pathetic." He turned his head to the side, spitting into the dirt, complete disrespect oozing from him. He clearly thought nothing of the kid standing in front of him and that became even more clear when he covered his eyes with his hands and stepped his feet wide apart, and grinned again. "Look, I'll even give you a free hit. What you got?"

Ryoga scoffed at the man's disgraceful gestures towards him. As if he cared who he was or what he thought. He was a target in his mission, nothing more. As such, he had nothing more to say to the man. As the man presented himself for a free shot, Ryoga would gladly take that opportunity. His mission stated that he couldn't kill his target, but that wouldn't stop him from crippling him how he saw fit. He quickly dashed towards his target, covering the distance between them in a matter of seconds, but keeping an eye out for a trap of some sort, as he could be luring him into something. if he managed to get to him, he would draw his blade and aim to break the man's kneecap with the side of his blade, placing his palm on one side and pushing forward with the hilt to shatter him at the knee, then resheathing as quickly as possible with his right hand, almost throwing it back into it's sheath.

The user draws their katana with one hand and slams their palm into the back of their blade to increase the force behind the swing made in any direction. This works with blunted side of a sword, but it can also draw out their strength and the blade's cutting power in full to quickly slash apart obstacles. Re-sheathing after this technique may take a bit longer; the placement of the hands following this technqiue make it difficult to resheath properly.

Prerequisite: 4 Speed
Through hours of practice the user has learned to quickly sheath their weapon with one hand. This allows the user sheath their weapon as quickly as possible, even if their other hand is not on the sheath.

The man was expecting the sudden onslaught, expecting the Shinobi to not realize that getting the first move was not as important as getting the first hit. It was why when Ry drew his sword the man was prepared, turning to the side and pushing himself into a back flip, kicking away the hilt of his blade with the sole of his foot, using Ry's own momentum to push himself further away. A grin of enjoyment was on his face as he landed, his feet planted firmly. "That was good, though predictable. You need to be more...how do you say, discreet." As if to make his point as he finished talking, the man's seals were finished and his foot stomped the ground and he purposefully looked down as his feet as though to wait for his jutsu to take affect.

Whereas, instead, a sudden burst of katon would begin to erupt from the ground where Ryo was currently standing, covering about a 3x3 foot radius. The fire was hot, enough to cause second degree burns if enough time was spent in the flames. He was ready to react depending on what Ryo did in response to the flames, that ever irritating smile still lit on his face.

Ryoga was impressed with the man's ability to avoid his attack. He almost barked at the man out of spite "Discretion is for the weak. You'll bleed like the rest." As he finished his retort, he saw the man finish some seals and stomp on the ground. "Stomping the ground? Seems similar to one of my own techniques". No sooner had he completed his thought, He instinctively jumped backwards away from the burst of katon, performing his own seals and after landing and finishing these seals, stomping the ground. Moments after, a fountain of water sprang forth, enveloping a 3 meter area, and hopefully the katon with it. "Your lucky i have to bring you back alive, or this would be so much quicker." Afterwards, he would move to the side of the fountain to establish line of sight with the man once more, and wait for his reaction.

Prerequisite: Control Stat of 6
Requiring a slightly above average level of control, this technique generates a large amount of water as a defense mechanism. By performing a string of seals, the user will stomp and create a fountain of water from the ground that flows at a speed of five. The fountain is three meters in diameter and four meters in height. This technique lasts for three posts. All in all, this creates just over eight thousand cubic meters of water.

"Oh? That's a veerrryyyy interesting piece of information that you probably shouldn't have shared." Telling an opponent that you couldn't kill him was essentially giving him the automatic upper hand. A rookie mistake, and a costly one at that. It gave the man the knowledge that no attack was going to be of deadly force, it allowed him to know somewhat the level of urgency he would need to move with to avoid an attack. The look on his face only grew more confident as his mind quickly ran through all of this information.

As the Shinobi finished his seals, the man began running, easily expecting something to come from the ground. His speed was intense and he was able to avoid the majority of the fountain, though it hit him towards the end of his run but he was able to use the momentum enough to be able to flip into the air and land solidly on his feet and palms, his hair falling around his face, now lightly damp. He shook his head much like a dog, "Thanks, I needed a bath."

Standing relatively close now, the man began threading hand seals, backing up very slightly. As his seals would complete he would place both hands out in front of him, a large burst of wind blowing from his hands, pushing with a force of seven and cutting with a strength of five. The man had to concentrate and could not perform any other techniques at the same time, though the wind could be controlled to a certain degree. Though the jutsu could be canceled easily, the man wouldn't be able to move while he was controlling the wind.

Ryoga hadn't really thought what telling his target that meant, but in the end he didn't really care. "Believe me, It doesn't change the outcome of this fight. You're nowhere near as skilled as me, This will be over quickly." Ryoga would do everything in his power to keep himself from killing this man, but if it came down to a life or death scenario, he knew he wouldn't hesitate to off him in an instant.

As the ninja dodged the geyser Ryoga set forth, he was honestly surprised that it had hit him at all. A relatively weak defensive technique meant for producing water in a pinch, the geyser wasn't meant to actually hit the man, but rather engulf the Katon burst he caused. Ryoga made eye contact with the man, watching his every move so that he might counter with the water being produced by the fountain. "I'm shocked that hit you at all, either you're slower than i thought or you're not paying enough attention."

No sooner had he finished saying "attention" the man made his move, stepping back and performing handseals. As he finished his seals, Ryoga saw the gust of wind leave his palms. He dashed top speed while performing handseals, making a dash to put the fountain between him and his target. at top speed, he was barely faster than the burst of wind following him, but it did still slash as his back a bit, ripping through his clothes and lashing his back with a few small gashes. It stung a bit, but he had experienced far worse.

As he put the fountain between them and finished his seals, He focused on the geyser, still gushing water, and put his hands into the water, morphing it into a large ball of water which then rolled towards the man at a speed of 7. The ball stood 4 meters tall, and had a diameter of 3 meters. Not wanting to waste time, Ryoga would proceed to dash around the other side of the fountain, away from the man's torrent of wind he hoped, and would then react to whether or not his prison engulfed the man as he planned.

*Water Prison
B-Rank Suiton Ninjutsu
By forming a string of seals, the user is able to spew a large ball of water that stands at three meters in diameter. This ball rolls at the target at a speed of seven. Should this strike a target, they will become engulfed within the sphere. However, if this manages to strike multiple targets, it will envelop them as well, up to a total of three prisoners. One can resist being pulled into the ball if they have a strength of seven or higher. The ball will roll thirty meters, regardless of whether or not anyone has been captured. Once inside, the targets will spin with the sphere and may cause dizziness, nausea and disorientation. The technique lasts for a total of five posts, rolling included, before bursting.

"I didn't want to outshine you too fast, but if you're feeling like that..." Making a show of himself, the man showed some quick seals that did nothing other than help him focus some extra chakra into his feet and legs to help propel him around. Performing a few simple back flips he easily moved himself back further from the man. As the ball of water began to move towards him he once again began moving, flitting around, moving himself back into the trees. His movements were quiet as he moved through the trees though he might purposefully make a sound every now and again. Eventually, from behind Ryo, he would hang upside down from a branch, his voice taunting. "You gonna do anything? Or just stand there?"

"Big talk from the coward running through the trees!" Ryoga yelled into the treetops at the man as he dodged his water prison. Ryoga noticed that the ninja seemed to have sped up after those seals he performed, but he still didn't think he was a match for his speed. As the man disappeared into the treetops, Ryoga scoffed as he performed a few handseals, then began feeling the trees above for his enemies pulse. He was sure that he was within 30 yards of him, and if he was right and felt his blood, he would perform a few additional seals to focus in on his specific signature. There was no catching Ryoga off guard, not as long as it bled.

The man approached him from above, getting closer and closer. Ryoga put his left hand on his sword and waited, ready for him to come at him. He hoped he didn't think he had the element of surprise. The man hung upside down behind Ryoga, and as he began to say something, Ryoga pulled his sword out with his left hand and stabbed it backwards behind him, Knowing exactly where the man was. If the man managed to dodge his stab, he would step forward a few steps and turn to face the man.

After sensing someone through Feel the Pulse and adding a few additional hand seals, the user can focus in on a specific person's blood signature. The user hones in on this specific signature if it is within a 30 yard range, and begins to track it down.

Prerequisite: 4 Speed
By gripping their blade, the user draws their sword as if a dagger in an earth facing grip, but instead of attacking a target in front of them they will turn their sword mid-swing in an attempt to stab a target that is behind them.
