Water Whip is a technique that utilizes water to create a seven foot long whip. To do this, they must perform the needed seals and concentrate chakra in their hands. By placing them together and pulling them apart, the user will be able to form the whip, where the grip is simply a sphere of water that encases one of the user’s hands. The hand it surrounds is up to the user, but it cannot switch after the technique has been cast. If anything enters the water that is around the user’s hand, the whip will lose its form and splash onto the ground. The whip is about one inch in diameter and functions as a regular whip, delivering as much pain as a leather whip would. However, the whip is a little more durable, unable to be cut by strike from regular metal if attacked with a strength stat less than the user’s control. The whip lasts one post for every stamina point the user has.

Today was the dawn of a new day for the older man, as it was a brand new day for the man’s chakra manipulation as he had shown his master of katon, raiton, and even fuuton. But today was the day that the older man began his training of his village’s preferred affinity: Water. The man planned to start with something rather simple as the man had an affinity for the water style technique, he had never truly put any thought into extending it the way he had his other affinities until now. The technique of choice today was one shown to him by a fellow clansman and one that could be used with a small amount of available water. Setting at his small table within the confines of his clan home the man removed both of his gloves and rolled up each sleeve of his grey undershirt now. Before the man sat a large bowl of water, one normally used to wash up ones hands and face but Kasai saw a different use for it today as he closed his eyes now and began to concentrate on forming water style chakra now within him.

‘Let’s get this started.’

Slowly the ungloved hands began to move into a series of four hand seals, before the hands came together and pulled apart slightly transferring his chakra into the bowl of water as a length of water began to rise from the existing water now. The water was only about an inch in diameter as the end between the hands formed into a spherical shape that overtook the man’s dominate right hand completely after a moment. Slowly standing up from the chair the man maintained his concentration as the ‘whip’ of water grew to almost two meters now. Lifting the right hand up he studied the technique and then lifted it up to about eye level as the length of water now rested just off the floor hanging limp. Bringing the hand over and around his head the man then snapped the whip of water forward manipulating it to wrap around a vertically running support beam in the room. Pulling the whip tight the man tested the strength of the whip itself, not bad for a low ranking technique as the man knew that being infused with chakra made it a little more durable as well.

‘Interesting…’

It was then that the Reaper reached over with his left hand, letting the gloveless finger push into the sphere of water that encompassed the right hand in an attempt to determine if he could switch hands with the technique after creating it. Only to discover the answer rather quickly as water lost its form and returned to its normal state falling to the ground with a gentle splash of water. It would seem that it wasn’t possible to switch hands after creating the technique, something that he would keep in mind.

Dense CannonShow

Replacing speed for power, this technique creates a dense ball of water meant to cause heavy blunt damage. Once the seals are formed for this technique, the user will create a ball of water from within their body and will expel it through their mouth. The ball sits at about two feet in diameter. It will travel at a speed and strength of five.

The droplets of rain had almost ceased as the small waves gentle crashed into the shoreline of the north side of the artificial lake created around the Hidden Mist village, those same waves lapped almost up to the dark shinobi sandals of the Reaper. His golden eyes watched over his home village from a far now as he prepared to continue his water style training today after the rain had stopped today. Droplets of the said precipitation still could be seen clinging onto the older man’s dark jacket before gravity seemed to finally win out and pull the droplets down the jacket. Today was another simple technique, one that he had some experience with learning with his fire and wind affinities, which aided the shinobi in knowing how best to manipulate and mold the chakra to achieve the desired result. A few rays of sunlight now broke through the grey rain clouds above Water country, it would seem the rain was done at least for a little while now as the Kiri jounin prepared to start training.

With his gloved left hand Kasai reached up and pulled down his half face mask so that it was only around his neck revealing his pale face as one ray of sunlight struck the young looking face that belonged to the older Toukai man. Now with the mask down the man’s mouth was uncovered as the Mist ninja began to form a slow series of four hand seals, still memorizing the series of hand seals, but then he stopped. Kasai shook his head slightly, realizing that he had messed up the hand seals a little. Exhaling slowly the man started back through the series now with methodical precision this time as he began to manipulate his suiton chakra within his chest. It was a different feeling than fire or wind had been. Holding the last hand seal the man then pushed the chakra that he had created and molded it within his mouth creating a ball of water that the man spewed out now.

‘Dense Cannon…’

As the man pushed the chakra infused water from his mouth, the short stream of water formed into a single ball of dense water that was about two feet in diameter. The ball of water wasn’t to fast, to be honest, as it moved forward to about fifteen feet before it began to fall crashing into the almost calm waters of the lake itself. Just from this single use, the man could tell that he could increase the distance of the water ball’s travel but at this level he probably couldn’t increase its force. But due to his knowledge gained from previous element training sessions that man had be able to get a decent first attempt in. Though the man knew that with a little more practice he would be able to not only push the range of the attack but also the speed of creating and manipulating his suiton chakra which would allow for him to advance to higher levels of suiton ninjutsu.

Umbrella DefenseShow

Umbrella Defense

After performing a set of seals, the user will be able to create a solid, yet watery defense. Once the seals are performed, the user will spray water created from the inside of their chest through their mouth. Once the water is expelled, it will form sort of an umbrella shape that is concave to the user and about two meters in diameter. This defense can be formed in any direction the user can spit, up to two meters away. Once created, it lasts for three posts before falling lifelessly to the ground.

‘Nothing like training away from all those people…’

Today the weather was a bit nicer that it had been, but despite the soft white clouds that decorated the rich blue sky the ever present film of thick mist hugged the landscape of Water country as it always had. But it was the mist that made this place feel like home to the Reaper as the stepped outside of his mountain side home in the northern foothills across the lake that surrounded Kirigakure. The man preferred to watch things from a distance, it was just the jounin’s nature as he readied himself for another day of water style manipulation training. Yesterday the man mastered a simple water ball style attack, but it opened doors to most advanced manipulation and leading from offensive to defensive technique like the one of today.

It had also been good practice learning how it felt to expel water and to allow for the man to start building up just how much he could expel at one time, but there was no reason to procrastinate now as the man’s black gloved hands twisted themselves into a short series of hand seals. A series that was better practiced then the ones yesterday day and ones that completed without error after a few seconds, holding the last seal the man had already began to create a small amount of suiton chakra within his chest before pushing it to his mouth. Inhaling the man then exhaled the chakra which created a small jet of water that pushed from the man’s mouth at this point. Though this time the man was not trying to create a simple ball of water, now the water was being molded to a different end state in this technique. The water pushed forward a little over a meter and a half in the stream that projected itself from the man’s mouth, continuing to exhale water as the stream of water expanded itself into a shape that was like that of an umbrella.

‘Umbrella defense…’

The technique itself was a type of water shield that expanded to about a meter and a half as well that was concave toward the older man, unlike some of the other elements that the man had mastered before this suiton made for a powerful defense being made from an actual physical element. One that was probably only surpassed by the durability of doton type defenses, but the man really wasn’t talented in earth style manipulation sadly. Perhaps that was something that he could change with training as well, but for now the suiton would have to suffice as he started to form the hand seals again after taking a moments break letting the previously created water fall lifelessly to the ground. In this attempt the man was able to enlarge the shield and push the distance of the water umbrella out to two meters each respectably. Though the technique was strong for its level, the man knew that this was just another stepping stone to something much greater.

Meant as a supplementary technique, the user will use water as a medium to enhance their vision. After performing the needed seals, the user will create a circular shape with their hand. They will then generate chakra to create a film of water that expands in the void created by their hands and will increase the distance one can see comfortably, depending on the user’s control stat. The user is also able to use this as a magnifying lens, in the sense that they are able to adjust the distance to meet their wanted field of vision. This technique lasts for three posts before dissipating.

• Control Stat – 5 – Able to see distances up to thirty feet as if they were at twenty feet.
• Control Stat – 10 – Able to see distances up to one hundred feet as if they were at twenty feet.
• Control Stat – 20 – Able to see distances up to two hundred feet as if they were at twenty feet.
• Control Stat – 30+ – Able to see distances up to five hundred feet as if they were at twenty feet.

Kasai had spent the last couple days working on some entry level water style techniques. One was an offensive water ball attack while the other had been a defensive style water shield that resembled the shape of an umbrella. Today was a little different as the technique he had been shown was neither defensive nor offensive and instead fell more into the supplementary category. The technique in question today was shown to him by a fellow Toukai who used it for scouting and recon purposes for reasons the man was about to discover as stepped out onto the northern shoreline of the Kirigakure lake and watched as the morning sunlight began to pour over the eastern mountains onto the mist covered village. Taking a knee for a moment the man closed his golden eyes and was silent for a few bit before reaching back and taking out his range finder from his lower back ninja pouch now and attacking it into place on his left eye.

‘Next..’

Next the man then started to form a short series of hand seals now, after finishing the hand seals the man removed his right hand glove and then curled the fingers of the exposed hand into a circular shape. Molding the suiton chakra that had been created within his chakra circulatory system into the hand which then began to create a thin film of water that expanded to fill the void inside the circle created by the pale fingers. The technique was known as ‘vision modifier’ which was related to the fact that the chakra enhanced film of water acted like that of a magnifying glass or looking glass might. With the film stable now the man brought the hand up to his right eye and peered through it, it was a small increase and wasn’t even close to what he could do with his range finger. But the technique wasn’t to be ruled out just yet now as the man formed a single hand seal with his free left hand now to help him concentrate his chakra.

‘I’m sure that I can make the film see further than this…’

Slowly the film seemed to change, just a little as the distance at which the man could see improved a bit as well now letting him be able to see distances up to one hundred feet as if they were at twenty feet. Yet, the Reaper believed that he could go even further than that with his level of chakra control as a jounin and man known for his mastery of other elemental styles. Kasai continued to concentrate chakra into the thin film of water again and refine it to what he felt was as good as he could create with the level of control that he had at this time. There was a very noticeable different this time as it appeared like the man could see distances up to five hundred feet as if they were at twenty feet which was close to that of his own personal range finder.

A fairly tricky technique to pull off, the user will form a string of seals and create a small ball of water within their dominant hand. This ball of water is only about three inches in radius and stays solid until contact is made with it. Should this technique strike a target in the head, the water will cover the eyes so that the victim’s vision is blurred. The impediment is equal to as if they were underwater. This ball can either be thrown or applied by force, but should it hit anything other than the head, it will simply fall to the ground. The ball stays solid for two posts, and should it hit the target, will stay on their face for three posts unless pulled off. Any target with a strength of five or higher can easily pull the water off their face.

The last week had been a rather productive week for the older Kiri-nin in his suiton training sessions thus far, with being able to mold and manipulate the element in three different ways and uses. But all of this would have been much more difficult for the man if he had not been through this same type of training and elemental manipulation with his other elemental affinities that he had been able to master up to this point. Now that only left water style ninjutsu for him to complete and the Mist ninja felt that he was well on his way now as he prepared to attempt a different style of offensive technique that required for him to manipulate the style of suiton chakra differently than before. This technique was one that he had studied the night before from a scroll that he had temporarily acquired from the ninjutsu library of the village.

This technique was one that altered the structure of the created water slightly to the point that it made it sticky to a point that it will cling onto whatever the user throws it at or forces it onto. Though this limited the range of the technique to the user’s abilities, it was something that could be useful to catch a foe off guard with and just another type of manipulation that Kasai wanted to learn to expand his knowledge of water style ninjutsu. Rounding the corner of his mountainside home the a pair of new training logs came into view that the man had replaced yesterday after destroying them doing other training the day before that. They would make a good test target for the technique as the man began to form hand seals now, holding out the right hand he began to form suiton chakra in the palm of the hand before shifting the type of manipulation just slightly.

‘Like this…’

Forming that water for the technique was rather easy today due to the excess of water in the air from the thick mist that covered the foothills where his home outside the village was located and after a few moments the ball of water that was about four inches across was completely formed at this point. Only a few meters away from the log the man reach back and then tossed the small ball of water at the target which upon contact seemed to splatter over the rough wooden training dummy. But unlike normal water after it splattered it didn’t run down the log to the ground and instead clung tight to its point of impact. Tilting his head a little to the side the man’s golden eyes studied the results as he moved forward now extending the right hand as he reached the log and pulled the water from the face like it was more like a gel at the moment.

Though the gel-like water only held together for a moment after removal before it seemed to revert back to normal water and crashed onto the floor of grass below at the man’s feet. But before that the man looked through the water seeing how distorted and blurred it appeared, this would definitely blur ones vision enough to effect the way they reacted or fought back. Interesting results and ones that the man would continue to work on in order to best devise how to use such a technique in a combat environment.

Slippery Catch TechniqueShow

After performing a string of seals, the user will coat their body in Suiton chakra. What this technique does is give their whole body a slippery feel to it. This may aid in escaping binds, grappling techniques and may even deflect weak physical blows. This technique lasts for three posts and can only affect the user.

Over the past week or so the older man had managed to come quite a ways with his suiton training, during which time the ninja had seen just how flexible an element that water could be. Not only in its standard offensive and defensive uses that were pretty straight forward but also in its ability to be useful for supplementary tasks or even how one could alter the property of the water itself for a short time to create something useful and knew. Today would be no different as the man sat within the cozy confines of his home away from home within the northern foothills gently sipping on a small cup of warm sake to help him wake up. Before him the unmasked man was reading a small scroll which contained in it a different way to manipulate water which was almost the exact opposite of the last water style technique the Reaper had learned that made it stick to an opponent’s face.

‘Slippery when wet…’

Yes, water itself could make for a slippery surface, but the technique that the man was reading about took that to a slightly higher level. But it was not a technique that made the ground harder to walk on which might have been the first though but instead is a technique that went used coats the user in a very slippery film of water that aides them in escaping binds or grappling style techniques. Kasai guessed that the only things left to do now after finishing the reading was to start trying it as he slowly stood up now and push his gloved hands into motion with a quick series of simple seals. Creating suiton style chakra now the man pushed it equally throughout his body now and began to concentrate as the chakra thinly coated his tall body. It felt right but it needed to be tested to ensure that everything was correct and that the technique was indeed doing what it was supposed to.

Bringing his hands back in front of him the jounin formed the special hand seal for the shadow clone technique now causing a cloud of chakra smoke to form directly behind him now. It already knew what to do as it reached around him with both arms and attempted a type of bear hug grapple. During which it found it hard to maintain a firm grip on the original as he slipped free from what was normally a strangulating grip before turning to face the clone. Each seemed to nod to one another now as the clone dispersed into chakra smoke and the man turned back to the scroll, the technique was only really useful for certain situations but a ninja could never be to prepared…

Water Vortex Trap

Prerequisite: The intended target must be on top of water
This technique is meant to immobilize and capture a target without dealing any type of fatal blow. After performing the required seals, the user will churn chakra in a body of water. The water will then engulf the target at a speed of ten trapping them in a vortex about two meters in diameter. The trap vortex has a strength of ten and can last up to five posts.

The water of the Kirigakure lake was very calm this morning as a thick coat of mist was found hovering just above the surface of its cool waters. It was like a solid mirror until the foot steps of the dark clothed Reaper sent small ripples radiating outward from the sole of each sandal now as the man made his way out onto the lake’s surface. It was still early as the sun light would even not begin to crest the eastern mountains for another hour or so. The man felt that he had managed to master the basics of Suiton now and it was time to move forward onto more powerful and difficult techniques, the technique today had been one shown to him by a clansmen who had been helpful earlier in his training. Today the man was attempting to learn a type of trapping water technique that unlike some of the other techniques where the user could create the water for it this one required a good deal of existing water to perform. But luckily for the man, the artificial lake around his home village made the perfect spot for him or any other suiton user to practice as Kiri was rather well known for its suiton users. After entering onto the lake the man stopped about ten meters from the shoreline and formed a single hand seal now to concentrate on his suiton chakra.

‘This should be far enough I think.’

Building up some suiton chakra the man then began to make a slow series of hand seals that were a little longer than the previous techniques that he had mastered so far. Finally stopping and holding the last seal now the man pushed the created water style chakra from his body and into the water a few meters in front of him now. Manipulating the mass of water affected with his chakra now it began to churn before it lifted from the water in a small vortex about one meter wide by one meter tall. A decent start as the older man held the technique for a few moments to help him get a feel for the chakra consumption of the technique. But in order to trap a decent shinobi the vortex created not only needed to be stronger than this one but also needed a wider range to give the user a bit more accuracy when attempting to ensnare a foe within its swirling watery walls.

‘I need to increase its size and strength on this next try.’

Kasai mentally reminded himself of what he needed to do now as he broke the hand seal and allowed for the short vortex of water to crash back down lifelessly into the massive body of water from which it had been created. Exhaling slowly the man prepared himself to begin again now as the gloved hands started into the same series of methodically created hand seals now before once more holding the final hand seal. After which the man fed the suiton chakra that he had been creating into the same area of water directly in front of him now as he could already tell as the water began to churn that the increased chakra that it had been given had nearly doubled its size from the looks of it. A moment later after the water began to churn the swirling vortex lifted from the surface of the lake now and revealed its full size to the Toukai now. It stood nearly as tall as him and seemed to have a similar diameter to it as well as the swirling water’s force had also increased from the previous use of the technique as the man had use more of his control this time around to do so.

‘Water Vortex…’

But unlike before the man did not release it so quickly, the point of this technique was for the user to not only catch the enemy within its churning walls of water but for the technique to hold the target. Holding the technique such as this was always a little draining, especially when you were still learning to create and manipulate the elemental chakra on this level. Yet, the man never moved as he maintained the technique for about a minute before finally releasing the waters back to their normal state…one needed to push themselves to grow stronger and that was something Kasai was rather good at.
