Tactical Retreat

Post by Izanagi » Sun Jun 21, 2020 4:19 pm

The last six months had been quite eventful for the young Jounin. He had traveled through nearly a dozen countries, searching for legendary weapons, escorting caravans of slaves, taking part in festivities in the Land of Fountains, competing in Fur Country and Star Country and traveling to Earth Country and Iron on a secret assignment. And now back home in Kirigakure he had taken on an apprentice, a Dagger of the Seven Swordsmen. The girl had promise, despite being sworn to the lowest branch of his family and he had recently helped her with a problem of a sexual nature but that didn’t change the fact that she was his student and one he had no intention of cutting any breaks. Coupled with weekly one on one training with his father, a Jounin who was just as physically capable as a Bannin, Shinji had a lot on his agenda.

Nonetheless, there was a certain person, in particular, he wished to further connect with. After a month apart they had spent some time together about a week ago at a bathhouse along with some other famous figures but Shinji still didn’t quite know where he and Chisaki stood. Perhaps he had come across a little too strong, but he wanted to remedy that. He didn’t simply see Chisaki as a sexual object, she was someone he wanted to connect with as a proper friend, though a lifetime of emotional distancing made it difficult for him to properly display his feelings or feel comfortable around anyone that wasn’t a Karagata or otherwise famous and powerful, the types of people that wouldn’t be in danger should his family decide they were a poor influence on him.

He had to actively remind himself that he was a Jounin now, a Jinchuuriki and a full member of the Seven Swordsmen. He was one of the most famous and powerful shinobi in the village, even his father had to be careful, in many ways they were equals. And so it was that Shinjiro decided to do something for himself, after fighting his father and proving his strength he stood up to the man for the first time since after his younger sister died, making his second-ever demand against the man and that was that he would allow Chisaki to be his friend, followed by the information that the two of them would be leaving the village for at least a few days, a week at most.

Arriving at the Toukai district Shinji would be escorted to the girl’s house at his request. It was somewhat unusual for members from different families to show up at clan compounds without pre-authorization, but nobody would go as far as to stop someone like Shinjiro. What was especially unusual was that he carried no weapons, nor even wore his usual cloak, hood and mask. Few people outside his own household or the workers and select friends at private rooms in high-class bathhouses saw him in such a state. His medium-length honey brown hair was well-groomed, slightly wavy, playing off his vibrant green eyes and smooth, youthful face, slightly less pale than that of the rest of his body. He wore a dark green T-shirt and grey knee-length shorts. His lean but extremely defined muscles in his exposed arms and legs were riddled with scars, mostly lacerations with many old puncture wounds and a few small burns here and there. Most notably his hands and wrists, partially up his forearms were a deep charcoal black, as if they had been permanently burned to a crisp though upon closer inspection there were significantly fewer scars across the darkened area, seeming to be completely healthy and functional. He carried no weapons at all, only a pouch at his hip, near the lower back. His Toukai escort would knock on the door and request Chisaki’s presence while Shinji waited several feet behind him for the girl to arrive.

Thud. Thud. Thud. In rapid succession a series of impacts can be heard from within the dwelling coming from the second floor. Chisaki was hard at work training, attacking a punching bag with focus and vigor. Circling around the heavy bag as it hung landing blow upon blow on its thick leather exterior. She was 'wearing' a plain black sports bra and a pair of tight black athletic shorts accented by 3 pink parallelograms on each side. As she was so focused on training it wasn't her but her father that answered the door.

The man appeared aged far beyond his years like a man in his late 60's, a sign of the clan's virus taking it's toll on his body. His short cropped salt and pepper hair and neatly trimmed beard were not the most noticable feature. No it'd be the patch and scar over his left eye. He looked at Shinjiro curiously wondering what fool would come here seeking the abomination he housed in his home. He recognized the young Jinchukiri immediately, the young shinobi well known for being a member of the SSM. Didn't make him any less of a fool but he'd refrain from speaking such thoughts out loud.

"Excuse my poor manners Swordsman. Please come in."

Shinjiro assessed the man who answered the door carefully. Judging from the way the escort moved aside and seemed to recognize the man, combined with the yellow eyes and remnants of reddish color to the man’s hair Shinji concluded that he was a Toukai rather than a slave. That was a little unusual, most households in the 1st district owned at least one slave, Shinjiro’s household was particularly wealthy, even compared to clan families and they had 5 slaves to their name, each of superb quality, some of the best-trained servants in the village he figured, each was a highly skilled taijutsu practitioner as well as exceedingly well versed in household chores and any other business they required of them. Waving away the Toukai that had led him to the house, Shinji approached the door. He hadn’t intended to come inside though he supposed he could for a short time. ‘Older than I expected’ he mused, looking over the man he deduced was Chisaki’s father, he seemed comparable to his own dad’s age but then Shinji had some older siblings. He recalled though, as he entered the house that the Toukai normally had short lifespans because of their virus, normally not living past around 45 of so if he recalled correctly. Evidently that meant premature aging as a side effect of that shortened life.

The young Jinchuuriki didn’t make himself comfortable or move much past the entrance as the man would close the door behind him. “I won’t be staying long. I’m here for Chisaki. I’ll be requiring her for a few days, a week at most. I trust you can explain her absence if anyone else comes around looking for her” he explained, making it clear that this wasn’t a request. Shinjiro was not the type of person one argued with. He was used to being accommodated and respected and wasn’t one to hesitate to put others in their place when necessary.

The interior of the house was actually rather run down. It was clear the family didn't have a single slave at all. Despite the unclean and poorly maintained state, it was clear the family didn't lack money. There was a rather lavish chandelier hanging over the foyer covered in cobwebs that illuminated the room below. And the dirty carpet on the floor appeared to have once been vibrant.

"You can take her forever if you want I'm just her Warden if you'd like. Chi! You have a guest!"

"Thanks Daddy!

With those few words spoken the head of the household would leave Shinji alone. It was clear from his tone the man felt no familial love nor care for Chisaki. If anything a clear sense of revulsion filled his words. To the man known as Toukai Hiroki, his daughter Chisaki had died when she failed to master the clan's virus. The monstrosity that lived in his home was nothing less than an abomination in his eyes. As she bore the memories of the sweet child he had so tenderly raised, he'd been assigned to be her primary keeper. He could think of no crueler punishment the clan could have place upon him.

Not long after he left Chisaki peeked down the stairs. Seeing it was Shinji she smiled brightly and bounded down the stairs jumping into the young man's arms. She had missed him immensely. She herself had been meaning to visit him but with her knew genin team on top of her HHD duties she hadn't been able to find the time. She kissed him on the cheek.

"Finally come to take me out to dinner I see. Its about time. You kept me waiting you butt."

Chisaki seemed in as good a mood as ever as she teased him playfully. She then paused thinking for a moment. A mischievous glint would appear in her eyes as she pinched his cheek.

"You know coming here and calling on me like this, people are gonna think you have a thing for older women."

Certainly, the state of the home was an embarrassment to the standing of one residing in the noble district, even if the house itself was of expected quality. Still, he couldn’t care less what any family other than the Karagata did or any of the clans loyal to them. It wasn’t his place to comment and ultimately it had nothing to do with him. He narrowed his eyes slightly at the man’s words, his lip curling only slightly in consideration. Though it wasn’t a binding contract it was promising, families were always vying to include new, powerful shinobi to their own, especially ones from clans. Though the Karagata had no clans as a whole sworn to them they were not opposed to gaining loyalty from individuals, though clan members rarely deviated from the main family they were contracted to. And largely it was prohibited to breed or sometimes even marry outside of the clan, though the specifics varied and Shinjiro had never bothered to learn all the details. “Gladly” he responded dryly. His bright green eyes remained stoic, if a little intense.

It seemed the relationship between father and daughter was strained though Shinji’s empathy was minuscule on a good day, he was sure the man had his reasons and likely Shinji would disagree with them but ultimately Chisaki’s father was on his last legs, maybe a few years left at best. He wasn’t worth the effort of getting worked up over and fortunately that indifference ran both ways as the man quickly left the room. The Jinchuuriki’s eyes warmed only slightly, his lips curling into a subtle smile. normally he wore a mask to help obscure emotional displays, as slight as they usually were given his training, though Shinji realized that there were some people he cared about and he had accepted that. His body responded naturally, catching the young woman in his arms effortlessly, his remarkably dense, rippling muscle locking to hold her easily, despite her disproportionate weight to appearance ratio. “Yeah, something like that” he responded vaguely; dinner would certainly be included but he hoped to take her away for a while so that the two of them could spend some time outside the village. As she kissed his cheek he exahled slowly and smiled softly, feeling very content with the situation. She then pinched him and he met her yellow eyes with his bright green. Typically he wore a mask not only to help conceal his emotions and identity but also to prevent him from accidentally poisoning others with his breath and saliva. Around Chisaki though he was slowly growing used to being a little more normal, knowing he could afford to relax somewhat and not worry about her being poisoned or reacting adversely to him being less distant.

His handsome features, with a smooth, strong jaw and playful smile were in full display. “Wolves don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep” he replied, slightly smugly. It was a phrase he had heard often growing up with a few variations and it flowed naturally from his lips, though he realized after a moment that it was a little lame to repeat doctrines all the time. So many had been instilled into him that he sometimes struggled to think for himself, easily falling back on some phrase or mantra that had been drilled into him throughout his life. There was a brief flush of embarrassment, despite his training he still had more innocence and humanity than he liked to let on. “I hope you don’t have any other plans for a while, I’ll be taking you out for a few days at least” he informed her. If she wanted to get down, he would let her but he had no issue with holding her, in fact it would be faster and easier to carry her. Heading out of the building with her in his arms, a pair of large black bat wings would sprout from his back after the area glowed with lime green chakra for a few moments. If there were no reasonable objections he would ascend into the sky and fly her through the village.

Chisaki chuckled at his little wolf vs sheep thing. While she wasn't sure if he was acting tough or all serious on purpose the end result was still surprising adorable, though she was sure he'd groan or have to prove himself if she voiced such thoughts aloud. Instead, she relaxed into him and thought about his next batch of words. As she contemplated, her body would tremor, a sight more than likely familiar to Shinji by now as parts of her flawless milky skin and the black work out clothes morphed into a delicate white dress that concealed her savage nature with an air of purity and innocence. Few would suspect her of being a sadistic bitch that would literally swallow a man whole.

"Ooo that's much better than dinner. I'd love a vacation!"

Chisaki's bright and cheery voice would ring out as she gripped on to Shinji tighter and stole a kiss. She was incredibly excited as her last "vacation" was when she first met Shinji. She wondered what kind of shenanigans and hijinx they'd get into together. As for work... Well she didn't care too much despite the numerous responsibilities she'd been given lately. After dealing with her initiation into the HHD and then suddenly being told she also had to train a pair of genin whilst simultaneously carrying out her regular duties had left her stretched very thin. She felt she fully deserved a little r&r. Besides, she could always say Shinji being a high ranking figure seized her for training or some other bullshit reason. The genin could meet their jounin team leader and bug him for a change. As for HHD, while she wasn't quite sure how Shiv or the others would react she wasn't too worried. They had other hunters and anyone they'd send her after wasn't likely to be to high a threat to village security given her rank that they could wait a few days.

As Shunji stepped out of the house she'd make him carry her like a princess wrather than simply cling to him like a sloth. She felt she was definitely much cuter this way. In hindsight she was glad she insisted on the change as his wings spread out. While she enjoyed flaunting her body and teasing people with it, that was always on her terms and she had no intention of letting anyone see the teddy bear print panties she was currently wearing. It would totally ruin her bad ass bitch image she usually went for.

Shinjiro smiled softly as Chisaki pressed into him and he felt her body ripple as the textures and appearance of her ‘clothing’ shifted. No matter how many times he saw or felt the way she could manipulate her biomass he still found it fascinating and rather unique. He appreciated her versatility, she could so easily adapt and be prepared for whatever came her way, and it also constantly kept him on his toes wondering what she would change into or if she would alter her appearance or even her physical sex. As the Jinchuuriki of the Body Genma, Shinji was a master of transformation himself though his forms were those of the animal kingdom, he couldn’t compete with her on the human range of versatility. He liked that there were things she was better at than him and that she had the potential to be incredibly strong, there was much likeness to himself in her and he felt she brightened his dark life but could also share with him in bouts of violence and inhumanity.

He kissed her softly and slowly, savoring the moment. Romance wasn’t something he had ever thought on much before, though if he ever did, he wouldn’t have anticipated himself ever being particularly affectionate. While it was true that his first sexual encounters had been nothing but lustful, primal and aggressive, around Chisaki he found himself more emotionally connected than he had ever felt before and for the first time in years he didn’t want to shut off those feelings but rather embrace them while he could. In fact, he wasn’t sure if he could even say he had ever been on an actual date before. Perhaps taking a woman away for a full weekend was a bit of an ambitious start but if he was anything it was bold and committed to his decisions once he made them.

After sweeping the woman off her feet, cradling her, and flying off he felt confident that the two would enjoy their time away together. He had figured out a rough outline of his plan a few days ago and made a few arrangements but there was still a lot of room left for improvisation and he could only hope that Chisaki would have fun with him. The only problem might be the awkward silence as he flew through the air, the teenage assassin wasn’t much of a conversationalist at the best of times, preferring to let his actions do most of the talking though he did have a bit of a playful side too. “So, uh. What kind of stuff do you usually do in your free time?” he asked after a few minutes, raising his voice a fair bit against the battering wind from the sheer speed he was flying at. It would take less than an hour to get to their destination and maybe she would just nuzzle up against him for it wasn’t exactly the easiest to maintain a conversation at such speeds. He supposed he could have taken a leisurely approach, but he did have a few possible stops planned out or at least considered and he didn’t want to spend the whole day simply flying around. Their destination was of course Fountain country but not the beach where they met, rather he was heading toward the Southern forests of the island, a place he had heard about from sailors but never actually been to. Apparently, there was a whole village in the trees that were friendly to outsiders and had all sorts of things that seemed interesting to explore together.

Chisaki was immensely jealous. After spending so long cooped up in the HHD headquarters the sensation of flying was beyond release. It was freedom. It truly allowed her to relax and put her mind at ease as she felt the crisp wind bite into her seemingly delicate skin. Despite the cold she immersed herself in the feeling and sensation holding her arm out to feel the wind beneath her. Lost as she was in the moment it took her a moment to even register Shinji was speaking to her. In fact he quite possibly had been for sometime and she had completely missed it. She looked up at him still in a zoned out state like a space cadet. After hearing him repeat his question she'd finally answer."You already know most of my hobbies... Training, eating sweets, tormenting people... Ooo I like naps and animals does that help?"

She asked awkwardly as she wasn't actually used to having any free time to be honest. Her father treated her like a weapon and more or less made her train non stop. When she was younger she thought it was his way of showing love but she gradually came to realize that her father no longer saw her as his daughter. Despite the lingering affection and attachment she had for the man he no longer loved her... It might've been why she'd been quick to cling on to Shinji. He gave her the one thing she'd truly been starved for and craving. Genuine affection. He saw her as more than just an abomination or a weapon. For the longest time she felt like she'd been slipping away falling into a dark pit becoming the very thing people accused her of. Perhaps because he saw the real her she was able to restore and hold on to the little humanity she'd had left. As she looked down to the ground below she'd smile, seeing the land of water slowly but surely vanish from sight. She hadn't even realized theyd been moving so fast. She pondered curiously as to just where exactly he might be taking her.

Shinji enjoyed watching the way Chisaki seemed at peace and simultaneously enthralled by the sensation of flying. He always felt powerful and clear headed when he took to the skies. He realized after he spoke that he really hadn’t needed to break the silence at all, that they could in fact simply enjoy time together by feeling a taste of freedom while in each others company. That suited him better anyway, the simple connection of being close to another person and sharing his experiences with them. He nodded his head, accompanied by a soft smile. Her simple pleasures were more than enough, they were weapons after all. They couldn’t afford having too much free time or indulgences, though as they each ascended in rank their fame, wealth and rewards each grew exponentially. Now nearing the pinnacle of status within the village Shinjiro found himself struggling to find ways to spend his money and enjoy his downtime. “Anything you ever want, ask and it’ll be yours” he promised her. The only thing he found he truly enjoyed was Chisaki, any happiness he could provide her would be his reward.

He wasn’t sure how to identify the feeling but the way he cared about Chisaki was the closest thing he had felt to love and had the most potential to grow into something even more. He only knew it was worth holding onto, though he knew the risk and was prepared to suffer loss should it come. Always he had to prioritize his role as a Jinchuuriki and carefully weigh and measure his emotional attachments and responses to keep Vorashu from latching onto anything that could be used to gain control. As if on cue, as he considered his attachment to her, the Genma awakened. ‘Your pet will be torn from you before long, disposed of when purpose no longer outweighs risk. This abomination holds the power to upset the natural balance, they are the natural enemy of all living things’ Vorashu seethed, the old shaman spirits words echoing in Shinji’s mind. Truthfully the Genma was curious to see how things would play out, seeing Chisaki destroy humanity, their own weapon bringing their downfall would amuse him to no end though he remained cynical that humans would be destroyed that easily. They were persistent and adept at playing at Gods, shaping the world as they saw fit. Humans and the Genma were eternal rivals, for one to thrive the other needed to fall. ‘You seem to think I give a damn about other living things. I couldn’t care less what happens to this world, only about what I have and want in the moment’ he replied within his mind, his heart truly was calloused, his empathy extremely limited and situational. He truly believed himself though Vorashu knew there was yet weakness in him, more attachments and humanity left than he would ever admit, as much as he tried to bury those feelings and excuse them. ‘You cannot deceive me, I see inside of you, little pup; whipped and beaten to obey your masters, to eat from their hands only, yet you starve for affection cling desperately to what you claim you don’t care to lose’ the Genma insisted, feeling the satisfying sense of doubt within Shinjiro. Finally the signs of weakness were beginning to emerge once again.

But Shinji remained firmly in control, the Genma’s familiar prodding washing over him and only just sinking beneath the skin. He focused and exhaled slowly, shoving the beast’s consciousness deeper within himself burying it and tightening the connection between their minds closer to being shut. It was his most common response whenever he had the strength of will to do so. Something he had learned after years of practice, though always he still felt the weight of the beast at the back of his mind and deep in the pit of his stomach. There was no escaping it completely. Even free in these skies he could be suffocated from within, weighed down and burdened.

After some time, they would arrive a few miles inland off the southern tip of Fountain Country. Shinjiro descended into the trees after spotting some distinct landmarks and using his senses to home in on the village that was fairly well known. Landing along the catwalks within the treetop village, his wings receded, and he took a few slow, deep breaths and stretched after he set Chisaki down. He was actually fairly tired from the exertion though he would recover his stamina relatively quickly, but he did feel quite hungry and in need of stretching out a little now that he was on his feet again. The natural light within the canopy of the trees was fairly dim though many lanterns and hung from the wooden buildings and lined the connecting walkways, illuminating the area in many pleasant sources of light. The pathways were lush and green, many still parts of living trees or otherwise blended in with natural greenery providing lush lattices of vines, flowers and leaves. Likewise, moss covered much of the ground and grew on the sides of many buildings and certainly if the lights were all put out the entire village in the trees would blend in seamlessly with the backdrop and be impossible to spot from either above or below. “So this is the village; Harmony, it’s more expansive than I imagined” he muttered to himself, looking on at several layers of buildings and walkways that extended out for several hundred meters. “Let’s find something to eat” he suggested as he offered his hand for her to take, “I’ve been told these people are welcoming of outsiders” he added, there were hundreds of residents at least and though none were immediately in their vicinity he could catch glimpses of some people moving about on other walkways or looking out from the many buildings. Following his nose, he smelled many types of locally grown fruits and vegetables and other various earthy and fragrant aromas. Surely they had meat too from various types of birds and monkeys and trade with others though he hoped there was somewhere for something sweat for the sake of Chisaki.

Chisaki marveled at the scenery below her in obvious awe. A new dream and desire arose within her. As she felt the wind against her body it brought with it an exhilarating rush. When he promised her anything she wanted she immediately had something in mind. However before she voiced her desire she felt him tense ever so slightly. She didn't see any change in his face however and wondered if she'd imagined it or if itd been something going on between him and his genma...

She leaned up and kissed his neck then nipped his ear before whispering as if she was trying to seduce him. "If I learn to grow wings will you teach me to fly as you do?" Despite her behavior she wasn't doing it to get something out of him, rather she knew that he enjoyed when she teased him.

She thought for a moment and a visible tremor shifted through her body as her outfit morphed to her whims. It changed to show a bit more "skin", the cut of her dress moving lower while the hem retracted so he could see a bit of her thighs. She loved teasing him just as much if not more than he enjoyed being teased.

She glanced below as she noticed him decelerate, their speed gradually dropping til she could make out the details around them better. She saw the village as he slowly lowered them down to land and the view was amazing she couldn't believe she'd found a view prettier than pool of blood and yet Shinji had brought her right to it. She marveled at the bridges and houses as he spoke to her. Lost as she was in the moment it took her a moment tk realize what he said.

Eat?! Yesssss fooooooood!" She bounced excitedly while holding on to his arm tightly, two soft mounds pressing against him through her "dress."

Tactical Retreat

Shinjiro smirked as Chisaki teased him and whispered in his ear, it helped quiet his mind and put the tensions with Vorashu at ease. “You can try, though you’ll never be as skilled as me” he teased, spinning deftly through the air in a barrel roll and exiting the maneuver perfectly without deviating from his trajectory. His attention shifted back to her as he felt her body morph. He certainly was enticed by the sudden change in ‘clothing’ always appreciating her tastefully revealing outfits that were clearly designed to tease him in just the right ways. The fact that Chisaki made him work for her body and knew how to flaunt it without being too forward was always appealing to the man. He was used to getting anything he wanted immediately, she kept him on his toes, always wanting more. The powerful Jinchuuriki made a contemplative noise, “Well, you do seem like you know how to be a good student” he re-assessed.

When they landed Shinjiro was quick to lead his girlfriend through the archways. They drew a variety of stares and whispers from the locals. “Shinobi of Kirigakure, we have money to spend” he announced, reaching for a sizable bag of coin that he bounced for emphasis. Once his wings retracted and without his array of weaponry Shinji looked relatively harmless, a fit and handsome teenager with honey brown hair and vibrant green eyes. He could even fake a rather pleasant smile; though his charcoal black hands and the array of scarring across his exposed skin save for his face indicated some sense of caution. Chisaki stood out slightly more with her pink hair and yellow eyes, though this wasn’t the first-time shinobi had traded in the village and soon the villagers began to go about their normal business with several individuals calling out to draw the pair in to show them the way to the markets. The teenager couldn’t help but glance at the woman’s chest as she pressed against his arm, though his gaze settled back on her face before turning his attention back to the local that led them along. Many of the villages wore green tunics and loose-fitting clothing that tended to blend in with the forest, most hand-made from local materials though there were occasionally some jeweled accessories or silks and such that were likely procured from outsiders.

After a few minutes of walking, they found themselves in a large circular area full of vegetables, fruits, meats and various local treats on display for sale. Naturally, it was the sweeter things that he knew Chisaki favored. There was an array of pastries, breads and candied fruit options, most incorporating some kind of honey or sugary glaze or filling. A desert called Mimiji Manju caught his eye, the pastry was stylized like a leaf and after inquiring, the filling was evidently a honey-sweetened custard, one of their local specialties. “We’ll take four” he ordered, exchanging the appropriate amount of coins, “And let’s try two of everything else too” he added. He was rather hungry, and he knew Chisaki’s appetite. At least with fruits and some breads it would feel like he was getting some nutrition. He had brought more than enough money. There was soon a sizable spread of treats at their disposal, being given a cheaply woven basket to carry it all. With that, Shinji bit into one of the leaf-shaped treats while handing Chisaki the basket. “It’s good!” he stated with a hint of enthusiasm in his voice and a gentleness in his eyes, he did have a slight sweet tooth, though only sparingly. There were some benches not too far away that they had passed on the way over that would be a suitable place to eat.
