[Graded] Daggers, daggers, we all fall down

Somewhere in Water Country, a handful of ninjas had been guided to a massive lake surrounded by creaks and meadows that was going to soon turn into a battle Royale, where the daggers of the organisation would present their blades. The 2 kilometre square battleground would allow the ninjas fair amount of space. The sun is about to rise, orange streaks kissing the mist ever so gently.

Yuuto would start Northwest, by a large river running down stream, he twirled Judgement and caught it midair with his left hand, his right hand scrubbed the back of his new cut hair, he had coloured the back part of his hair black, connecting to his Sword and friend, Mondai. He knew that today was a special day, a day he had been training for, the day he got to prove himself as a dagger, to prove Shinjiro that he had worked up the confidence to stand up for himself.

For the longest while the young boy had let people trample all over him, but through lessons and experience, the gentle spirit had now even gone so far as to sign himself to this massive undertaking. His feet where quick to leave the ground, he was on the prowl.

Nozomi was currently diligently training like usual making sure she could hopefully make her father and mother proud she would keep trying to get stronger every day. Eventually she went to sleep and the next day she saw on the calendar that today was the daggers tournament, today was the day to see if her training was paying off or if she needed a stricter regimen. So she quickly grew her clothes like usual, because of the way her body worked she didn’t need to buy and use actual clothes which was convenient.

She then quickly gathered her gear and headed to the location, along the way she wondered what she would do about the other daggers she didn’t meet them yet. She hoped she was strong enough to deal with them. If they were as strong as a chunin she doubted she would be able to do much against them. But she would leave that potential problem for later then, soon she could see the area they were supposed to fight. The area looked interesting it was definitely going to be a good place for suiton users with the massive lake along with the surrounding creaks and rivers.

She would quickly head down there, and begin looking around for any other daggers as well as good spots to set traps. She wondered what sort of strategies she should use. She would quickly take out a kunai, before she continued looking around for anyone

In the western quadrant of the large training area that each of the dagger's had been assigned to the young man was seated in the branches of a tall tree that extended up to around thirty meters in the air, using its thick canopy and twisting vines as a means of camouflage. 'Some sort of training event...' The man mulled to himself in thought about the words from the third blade about this being one of the training missions set up by himself and the other swordsmen in order to prepare their daggers for true combat. Sighing to himself he wasn't quite ready to start hunting just yet as the sun had just risen in the eastern horizon. For now, the man simply waited and planned to bide his time at the moment.

Since this would be a type of multi opponent and terrain associated test, the fox eared youth didn't see a need to really seek out his prey and made the assumption that some of the other more 'open' swordsmen and swordswomen would hurry to find one another to openly engage in head-to-head conflict. But this truly wasn't the way of Hisato at all who just wanted to strike from the shadows, quickly kill or maim a target, then once more fade away. To him there was no such thing as honor in battle, you either killed the target or they killed you, there was no shame in fleeing from another stronger opponent and striking them later from their blind side. 'With the sun rising higher now I'm sure others will quickly find opponents...'

Sitting across his thigh, hilt grasped lightly in the clawed left hand was a translucent crystalline blade as he smirked lightly allowing for his foxlike black furred ears to twitch in different directions allowing for him to listen to the nearby area as he searched for those who might have started close to his own starting position. 'Once they lose their situational awareness then they will become much easier prey for my invisible blade.'

Shinjiro had decided recently that the Seven Swordsmen and their Dagger candidates had failed to meet his criteria. And so, the coming months would demand a great deal from those within the organization he led. Now more than ever Kirigakure needed to be strong. He would stop at nothing to ensure those under him became the most powerful shinobi the village had to offer. Today, he would personally observe the potential of the Dagger candidates that had been selected. Their strength or weakness would be a reflection of their superiors.

Naturally, under his leadership the Seven swordsmen had embraced the tactics of victory at any cost. There was no such thing as honor, as had been advocated by former Overseer, Kazuki Ryoga. Instead, a shinobi under his command was expected to find any way to survive. There was no room for excuses. No matter how outmatched, injured or exhausted one was, a true killer they would find a way to gain advantage, or at the very least to escape to fight another day. After all, one could not be truly defeated if they still lived to strike back at their enemy when the odds suited their own favor.

From 50 meters above the center of the lake, Shinjiro seemed to hover in mid-air, his large bat wings splayed outward as the legendary Greaves he wore allowed him to stand on the air itself. His head twitched, transformed into the likeness of a great-horned owl, he listened to the faintest of sounds of the young Daggers scouring the forests for their prey. There would be no bias coming from the Overseer during this exercise. Despite two members of his own family being among those fighting, he cared only about results and seeing the strongest, smartest and most ruthless prevail. If he were to wager however, Hisato and Kozan in particular seemed to emanate the truest killing intent and predatory instinct. Those were the two he was expecting to see prevail to the end. However, it had been some time since he had seen Yuuto, he wondered how much he had grown. Regardless, the winner would be rewarded greatly, as would any others that managed to impress him.

This transformation allows Shinji to grow a pair of large bat wings from his upper back. Each wing is 3 meters long and 1.5 meters wide and typically brown or black in color. These wings are fully functional allowing Shinji flight capabilities. As an extension of his body Shinji has learned how to fly and move as swiftly and silently as he normally would.

Flowing chakra towards his head Shinjiro can take on the appearance of a great horned owl. Only from the neck up is he transformed, allowing him to turn his head 270 degrees, see clearly in the dark up to 250 meters away and hear the heartbeats of even creatures as small as a mouse from a range up to 100 meters.

Mondai was following along Shinjiro in their observation of the daggers, Mondai saw this as an opportunity for Yuuto to redeem himself from failing to become a dagger the last time if he failed. The sacrifice he mad for Mondai was astounding but Chiane saw it as foolish. should he fail to redeem himself again than Yuuto the gentle spirit simply wasn't cut out to be part of the seven. Mondai and Yuuto had been sort of a team or rivals each teaching the other to their way of life. Yuuto teaching Mondai to be less harsh, crass and ruthless and the other doing the opposite teaching the gentle spirit to be less gentle. Because In a village like Kirigakure Yuuto stod out lika sore thumb- His pacifism being his greatest strength and his weakness a noble born like him shouldn't be punked around in the way he did bastard or not he was son of Shiv on of the most ruthless weapons Kirigakure has produced.

While Mondai didn't have access to fancy equipment that allowed him to hover like Shinjiro so instead Mondai opted to watch from an elevated point closer to the lake but still far enough were he could see the other competitors. A binocular was present so he could zoom in if needed.

Mondai would never admit it but he was faithful and worried in Yuuto. He wasn't sure if he had thought him to be ruthless enough for this exercise so seeing him fail woudl be another failure for Mondai and harm his already shoddy reputation. It didn't help that a noble was under a untouchable so having him fail would bring even nastier looks than they already got from sneering nobles.

All of the daggers had potential but there needed to be a packing order for them just like there was for the seven.

Nozomi was currently wandering around observing her surroundings until she found a small pond and decided to hide in it then would do some hand signs and wait underwater while carefully spreading her poison inside infecting the water itself in case a enemy came near and attacked. She figured a ambush would be her best way of winning. That said the spreading toxins in the water giving it a purple hue could possibly hint at the fact she was hiding in the pond. But it could also just as easily hint at that she has been there either way if they knew what the purple water meant they may be more on guard making a ambush harder.

But even if they knew she was in the pond they would have no way of knowing where in the pond without some sort of sensory jutsu so she hoped that would mean she could attack from cover giving her enough of a advantage to win. She really didn’t want to loose or die and with the possibility she was out matched by everyone here she had to be extra careful with how she proceeded. Only time could tell how events would proceed.

It makes a random body part swell up painfully feeling like it’s about to pop and becomes more sensitive to pain. The effects increase depending on control. Starts at a 50% increase in pain at 1-12 control lasts
At 14-25 control increases to double the pain and body parts now begin to swell to a additional half its original size limiting range of movements
27-38 control increases pain to triple the amount normal body parts now swell rapidly and can reach double there size and heavily restricts movement of the body and movement feels like your pulling a muscle even breathing can feel like your being stabbed at this point.
39-50 control increases pain quadruple and causes body parts to one by one rapidly swell until the skin and muscles literally explode leaving only the skeleton. It starts with the arms after 2 posts first one arm goes then 1 post after that the left arm goes then next post the legs then 1 post later the torso resulting in death. can only been treated with lijutsu that has equal or higher control and can be stalled but not cured with 1-9 less control

The prospect was leaping from branch to branch, he knew that his elders were watching and he knew that this was another way for him to earn the respect he wished he was granted. All of his life he had chosen the none violent route but today was going to be a different day, he knew that life wasn't ever going to be easy but if he didn't fight back then he surely had no place in the Seven Swordsmen. He had tried to forget the day he was denied entry but he could never seem to get past that traumatic day, he knew that no matter what, he was going to make Mondai and Shinjiro proud.

Yuuto would stop and crouch down as he could hear feint footsteps, he knew that he wasn't the best ambusher, nor was he a skilled combatant that he could just leap into battle and take anyone head on. No, his strategy was to try to figure out who and what he was dealing with before he would introduce himself, because there were no rules that said that you couldn't team up or persuade anyone to give up, though that was unlikely to happen, or at least he thought. He would continue to inspect the lonesome road that would lead them to the lake, I could also try to help someone if they get ambushed and maybe team up with them... Yuuto hoped that he hadn't been spotted, so he could gather as much intel as possible before making his entrance.

When the guidance had been given, Kozan had slinked off into the shadows of the forest, the large boy disappearing into the foliage to begin his hunt. He had already been designed to be a predator, but training under Shinji had only began to refine his instinctual drive to stalk and strike. The significance of training under the Overseer, and one of the most premier assassins in Kirigakure had not been lost on Kozan. This was a battle royale, and Kozan needed to simply identify a target and take them out. Having spent time with the other daggers, Kozan was well aware that of those among them, there would only be one that he'd be able to passively sense - Nozomi.

So the plan he formed would be simple: scout until he sensed fear from someone so he could identify Nozomi, and then close in on her. Make enough noise to draw out Yuuto, and then allow Nozomi and Yuuto to wear each other down so he could come in and make the final strike on both. As he stalked through the trees, he kept himself aware, trying to stay cognizant of anything else around him in case Yuuto got eyes on him first. But fortunately, as he circled around a pond his brain would light up with excitement as the scent of fear filled him. "There she is.", he murmured to himself. Zeroing in on the scent, his eyes fell to the pond within the clearing just beyond him. She was likely right at the edge of his boundary. He considered for a moment just blowing her away as he hid in the shadows, but he would need her to wear down Yuuto.

Kozan was situated at the eastern side of the small pond, hidden within the leaves of the tree he was in, the forest surrounding it made the clearing about 45m in diameter. At about 25m from Nozomi, Kozan was also unknowingly not far off from Yuuto was was positioned by the path leading up to the lake from the south. Thinking about his next steps, Kozan would pull a kunai with a tag from his pouch and hold it in his hand for a minute. With a loud of enough explosion he could shock Nozomi out of place while also alerting Yuuto to their location, which might draw him out as well. Nodding affirmatively at the plan, Kozan would toss the kunai high in the air, aiming for it to go towards the north side of the pond. Right before striking the water it would detonate, sending a concussive wave through the water but also along the shore of the pond, a loud BOOM echoing through the battle site. How was time to see what would happen next.

Admittedly Asuna found herself feeling nervous as she hid amongst the trees, watching and waiting for her fellow Daggers. Nonetheless she quelled her fears, the feeling of her blade at her side helping to calm her down. As of late she had been getting stronger bit by bit and gradually growing more comfortable in her role among the swordsmen. Unfortunately she wasn't born with supernatural senses nor did she have the natural instincts of a hunter but she was certain that her skillset would more than make up for what she lacked. She would just need to find an opponent the old fashion way, through a bit of patience.

With that in mind she had situated herself to the southern area of the battlefield kneeling within a thicket, her hand on the hilt of her sword. For now she was waiting and watching, not moving from her spot even as a sudden boom reverberated through the area, the girl making use of the noise to roll her hips, a tail made of bone growing from her spine. It was a bit of a loud process but she had been given a perfect opportunity to grant herself another weapon. Even still though she kept her position, waiting and watching to see what would happen next, to see how Yuuto and Nozomi would react and if she would be given an opening to make her entrance.

Nozomi would be paitently waiting at the bottom of the small pond when suddenly she gets a strange twinge of fear. She realizes this must be the work of kozan based off their previous encounters. So she would quickly activate one of her new jutsu she got from her mom and would temporarily transmute the pond water into disease filled bog that she could use some of her other jutsu with. Causing the fleshy bog to block the shock wave from hitting her.

She would then wait to see what he planned to do next, she thought for a bit and figured she would go gather information. She would then touch the fleshy mass to assimilate enough to stick her head through and look around to see if she can see anything. If she doesn’t see yuuto nearby or if she can’t find kozan. She sticks her head back down into her make shift hiding spot. Then proceeds to wait to see who will show up. She had to think of a good plan to deal with kozan. She didn’t want to just wander around looking for him. Plus she knew he was planning something so would have to come up with counter measures for that as well

After forming the proper handseals, the user will point her left hand at a surface within 3 meters. Her hand will then shoot out disconnecting from her body and embed itself into the surface it hits as a new one grows in it's place. It digs in with a strength of [Control]. After planting itself, it will begin to release spores that will cover every surface within a 3 meter by 3 meter by 3 meter area, with a 20 centimeters thick layer of viral biomass over the course of 2 post. The biomass slowly pulsates almost like it has a heart beat. The soft rubbery tissue is red and covered in a slimy clear mucus making it rather slippery. In an enclosed space the air becomes hot and humid.

Yuuto took a deep breath as he stopped by the edge of the forest, he was crouched down on the branch he was standing on, he peered out towards the meadow and saw what appeared to be some sort of pool on the ground, what came next shocked him. An explosive kunai was sent barreling towards the center and exploded above the pool of water. Interesting strategy... I wonder if someone is hiding in the pool of water... But how would they know anyone was there? Do we have a sensor? No... Not what I can recall... Although.... Kozan is able to... What was it Mondai told me? Sniff out fear? Weird...

Yuuto sighed, he reached for his shield and equipped it before he continued to check the area for a brief moment. Once he noticed that part of the pool had turned flesh color, he figured that it was one of the members of the dagger program, thinking back to who it might be, he blanked out, he figured that it didn't matter now for whoever had tossed it, most likely Kozan, was on to the ninja hiding in the pool. What Yuuto didn't think of was that this was meant to draw him out, ever the pacifist and hero that he saw himself as the wonder boy responded like Kozan had predicted.

Leaping out of the forest and landing with a roll next to the pool, Yuuto raised his shield and looked towards the area the kunai had been tossed, most likely had the person in question relocated but as of now that mattered little. "Are you okay? Combat scenario or not, we are all daggers here, teammates under same banner." Yuuto's concern for others wellbeing would always take precedence but today his will would be tested. His two swords where slung over his right shoulder and hadn't been drawn as of yet, only the shield had made it's appearance.

Kozan's plan had worked. Nozomi had created a defense, which was small enough that he could get an exact eye on her location, his eyes thinning as he zeroed in on her. To make matters even better, Yuuto couldn't help but be drawn out from his location. Kozan expected the boy to attack, but instead he was crouching on the shoreline. Kozan let out a soft grunt, frustration being one of the first emotions the boy had become familiar with, he'd found he was experiencing it more often than he expected...especially when he was on the hunt.

Then he sensed someone else, not far off from him, to the south. His mind racked through who else would be here until he landed on Asuna. That made sense. He thought for a moment, what would work best for him on this? He ran through the battles in his head, trying to make an assessment. Nozomi was certainly the easiest target to take, but it would be work for him to actually face off against her, and would put him in a bad position against Yuuto. Attacking Yuuto was an option, but Nozomi could cover larger areas with her poison, and fighting in the open with Yuuto would expose them both.

Tch", that left Asuna.

So he would move, slowly rotating south through the trees as silently as swiftly as possible, aiming to zero in on her scent. As he got closer, it became easier to sort out where she was. Making sure to use a wide arch to approach so he'd be unlikely to be in her view if she was focusing on the pond they were around. Finally, he would be behind her and begin his approach on her. First, he would seal, placing a fuuinjutsu on the back of his hand. He'd slowly feel the range of his scent deplete as his body felt stronger. But he'd found his target by now.

Getting about 15 meters behind Asuna he'd crack his arm forward like a whip, a tendril flying out from his forearm and reaching forward at Asuna to wrap around her neck.

Kozan has learned to adequately use the shadows to hide himself, and is extremely skilled at moving from shadow to shadow. So long as a covered area is within 2 strides of his current position, Kozan is able to move seamlessly between positions, keeping himself hidden. This works unless someone watching him has [+3 Speed] from Kozan or a sight perception technique of a higher rank than this.

The fighting was most definitely underway now and Asuna was on full alert as she began moving through the foliage looking for an opportunity of her own to enter the fray. Focused as she was on the battle going on near the pond, she had entirely failed to realize someone might be tailing her through the trees. This was until she realized that Kozan was nowhere to be seen. She had been certain that he would be drawn out into the open as well but it dawned on her that she was a fool. She didn't know a great deal about his abilities but she did know that hunting was his forte.

"I'm a fool. I can't believe I forgot something so obvious!" she muttered to herself as she turned around, feeling just a prickle of unease. It was at that moment that she found a black tendril heading her way. Almost as if on instinct she swung her bone tail with practiced ease in an arc, hoping to intercept it as she leapt back with a few short hops, fully ready in her combat stance. With the boost Kozan and his tendril were both physically stronger than her but with any luck she would manage to at least keep him at bay. Unfortunately she wasn't really in the best position to actually fight back but for now she at least had to put up a resistance while she watched and waited for an opportunity to strike.

This is showing how untrained I really am. There are so many things that I lack compared to the others. Honestly it was incredibly frustrating but for the first time she could truly feel a fire burning within, her urge to improve herself being stronger than ever.

Yuuto would see Nozomi’s head pop out of the fleshy mass and she would look around seeing him then say “hello yuuto I’m fine I’m pretty sure that was kozan he’s nearby but sadly I have no sensor techniques so no idea where he is do you want to team up and help me find him? Then at the end when it’s just us too we can fight? I definitely would rather have a Karagata win this battle royal.”

She would then wait for yuuto response and talk to him if necessary. After that if he agreed to team up with her, she would ask “any idea which direction he could be in? I know he’s here because of the fear his ability is generating but other than that no idea what direction he could be in.”

After talking about that subject for a bit she would wait until they were ready to head in a particular direction before she would, carefully looks arose at her surroundings as she started to emerge from the strange fleshy pond. Once her full body was out she would watch yuuto and follow him. Being careful in case Kozan tried anything else, unaware he was fighting at the moment.

Yuuto couldn't believe what he was hearing, Nozomi was ready to team up with him, using their clan as a reason to why they should, which he found interesting. Yuuto knows that Nozomi was his cousin and had seen her from time to time, but never in his life did he expect her to burst out that they should work together, in fact, it was rather ironic because Yuuto was about to suggest the same. Odds were that the physically weaker Nozomi would be in trouble if she went about this on her own, and Yuuto wanted to make sure that the daggers made it out of this battle royale in one piece.

"I hear you, fine, we should team up and try to ride out this wave as quickly as possible." Yuuto who was crouching down would rise up and peer over at the tree lines of which the kunai had been flung from. "If it was Kozan who threw that bomb then it's safe to say that he isn't far off, though I am quite surprised that he didn't attack me when I came to check upon you... I hope he isn't praying on us still... Otherwise..." Yuuto stopped speaking as he focused on what could keep the predator at bay? "Let's just hope that whatever is keeping his mind busy buys us enough time to find and dispose of him." Yuuto tried to add emphasis on dispose in order to sound tougher than he was, what he truly meant was knock him out but considering that he had to portray as the hero he claimed he was, then he needed to sound the part as well.

"I'll be our sword and shield; you assist me with jutsu and information and I'm sure the Karagata can bring this one home." Yuuto had no plans on fighting Nozomi once the others had been defeated but that was an issue for later. "Try to stay close and away from danger." Yuuto was going to draw the enemy to him and have Nozomi act as back up while whoever he was going to face would have to deal with 2 menaces. With that said, Yuuto started moving towards the location where the scattering birds had last been seen. Unbeknownst to him, this was towards Asuna's position.

Pure instinct took over Kozan as his attack surged forward. In the moment, Kozan was running off of the primal intuition that was crafted into his DNA, tactical thinking was gone in favor of overwhelming his opponent with raw power. As the tendril flew forward, Asuna would attempt to block it with her tail. An attack that would have been successful if Kozan was not a fair amount stronger than her. As the bone tail struck the tendril, it flexed and responded, wrapping around the tail and pulling at Asuna as she attempted to jump away. Without much thinking, Kozan would rush forward, chakra swelling in his back and another tendril ripping through his skin and shirt to launch forward at Asuna at [21] speed with [29] strength. Once again it would aim for her neck as he pulled at her tail with the other arm, propelling himself towards her like a slingshot.

As he launched his body through the air, he would snarl, an animalistic roar coming out of his mouth and reverberating through the forest around them. Like a lion claiming his territory, Kozan was announcing to Asuna and every single dagger in the area, 'I'm here. Run while you can.'.

If there was one lesson Asuna had yet to learn, it was to not underestimate her juniors. She had thought for sure that she could beat Kozan in a contest of strength if not at least match him but clearly she had been naive. This strength was clearly unnatural but nonetheless was enough to overpower her by a fair margin. The tendril wrapped around her tail and in the process cut off her one avenue of escape.

To make matters worse there was another tendril heading straight towards her, Kozan himself flying through the air not far behind it, the boy seeming to be more animalistic than ever. Frankly she was terrified but this was no time to be showing fear, she had to push through it. She now knew she couldn't win a test of strength but she was still faster and that may be her saving grace. First things first however she needed to be able to move properly. With that in mind she would allow her bone tail to shatter into dust as she channeled chakra into the blade at her hip.

Dashing off to the side to dodge the incoming tentacle she drew her blade, a blast of chakra flying towards Kozan at a speed and strength of 15. It wouldn't be much more than a distraction if even that but hopefully it would buy her time as she returned her sword its sheat and dashed off further into the trees. Additionally as she ran she would pull an explosive tag out of her pouch and slap it on a kunai, tossing it towards Kozan, detonating it once within range.

Honestly she hated being put into a position like this. She absolutely hated feeling so much like a coward, but she had the feeling that this would need to be a battle of attrition if she were to have any chance at all. She was after all up against what may as well be a natural born hunter... one that had seemed to abandon any sense of tact in favor of animalistic brutality.

It did lead her to wonder though what had happened with Nozomi and Yuuto. Were they fighting each other or perhaps... Had they teamed up? Maybe if she could join them they would all have a chance together. For now though she was alone, she had to focus on staying in this battle on her own terms. The only question was how. Would be listening to yuuto as he speaks eventually at the end when he suggests how they do things and would nod sayings “sounds good to me.” She would then hear Kozan roar and look on in that direction and quickly run over there. On her way she would start doing hand signs, eventually finishing them and activating too different jutsu together. First activating one of her poison jutsu ((control strength 27)) then biting her tongue and using her chiton jutsu spitting few drops of air into the sky to activate the jutsu and would make it rain blood in a 15m radius around kozan’s roar ((control speed 35))

She would then hurriedly rush over to the area as her blood rained down to see if anyone was caught in the jutsu the chiton jutsu would do no damage on its own so the blood falling from the sky wouldn’t hurt anyone but the poison in the blood from the poison jutsu on the other hand would definitely hurt.

At the bare minimum it would serve as a good test or warm up attack for later things to come. As soon as she got there she would immediately start looking for Kozan and anyone else nearby.

A monstrous roar echoed throughout the forest, alerting everyone within the vicinity that a monster had been let loose, the blood curling scream sent a cold shiver down Yuuto's spine, causing his normal heroic mentality to falter for a brief second. What the hell was that? What the hell is this thing? He thoughts wandered to the times they had trained until Nozomi snapped him out it.

He rushed after her and spotted how she formed a set of hand seals. "Be careful, don't let it get close to you, I'll do my best to protect you." Yuuto turned and spotted Asuna rush towards them, which sort of confused him, at first he wondered if she was out to attack them, but when he noted that she didn't seem to frown at them, bearing no form of ill will, he chose to slid to a halt. The bloody rain tore down branches and trees, kicking up dust that slowly moved towards them. "Asuna, we aren't familiar but I bet you'd rather attempt to take me down one on one than to deal with that thing on your own, I suggest temporary alliance until we have dealt with this monster!"

Yuuto raised his shield first before he reached for Judgement, he was ready to defend Nozomi if Kozan or Asuna tried anything, he stood half a meter ahead of Nozomi. They were located around 30 meters away from Kozan's location. He hoped that Asuna made it out of the rain, but at the end of the day, he had only made an alliance with his cousin, so his priorities were set.

Asuna responded quickly, Kozan making a mental note that regardless of how strong he became, he’d need to create more fuuinjutsu that could help him adapt more readily to his opponents. She charged s jutsu launching a blast at him and like instinct the truth seeker on his arm would expand like an umbrella, eating the strength of the blast. It would quickly constitute itself as the kunai knocked against it with a second explosive blast, Kozan stumbling backward as the truthseeker melted into liquid and stretched back to his body. The tentacles would do the same, slowly retreating into his skin, the one from his arm wrapping itself around his forearm and the one wrapping around his waist like a belt.

He dug his foot into the ground ready to take after Asuna when he heard patter of rainfall around him. Blood raining from the sky, the truthseeker on his arm took back it’s rounded form, making a small dome immediately over his body to prevent the blood from falling on him. Nozomi…

Were they all coming after him?

Yuuto called out to Asuna, and Kozan had his answer. Fine. Forming Kai, the seal on his hand would deactivate, his senses fully reactivating. He could sense Asuna, but not Yuuto or Nozomi, telling him Nozomi and Yuuto were outside of his range.

His hands formed into seals as he crouched low, slowly breathing out a cloud of mist that would expand in front of him, out towards Asuna, Nozomi, and then Yuuto. With the mist masking him, Kozan darted forward towards Asuna until he felt Yuuto in his range. If they were going to team up, Kozan’s approach would have to change. Yuuto was the problem. Sealing as he darted forward, he’d reach forward, clenching his fist through the mist. Suddenly, Yuuto would feel the mist constricting around him, constraining him with [23 Strength].

Wasting no time, when Kozan was about 15m from Yuuto, the tentacle on his arm would fly forward, the umbrella that has been masking him from Nozomi’s rain flowing down his arm and onto the tentacle flying forward. If Yuuto was trapped, he’d be struck at the tentacle slammed into the shield in front of his chest, the truthseeker orb extending into a pike that would shoot down towards Yuuto’s leg, impaling his quad, and the effect of the Truthseeker negating his healing factor.

If Yuuto was immobilized, his effectiveness on the battle field would be virtually nonexistent. Which would leave only Nozomi and Asuna to deal with. Unbeknownst

*Concealing Mist Technique

After forming the required hand seals, the ninja creates a blanket of mist which covers the area around them. The mist covers 40x40x40m area. The mist limits the visibility of those inside to 2 meters in any direction, and dampens scents, weakening any advanced scent techniques, or controlled scent techniques by 2m. Additionally, sound is dampened as well, which can make it more difficult to communicate plans through the mist without advanced hearing techniques. This technique lasts a number of posts equal to the user's 1/2 Chakra Pool.

After performing the correct handseals, the user will focus on a 3x3x3m area of mist. This mist will then become extremely dense, weighing down with [Control] strength. Anyone caught within this area with less than jutsu’s strength will be unable to move.

Weapon description:
A bit of a misnomer, this weapon belonged to Experiment 82 v1 and was passed onto Kozan as he is the only individual genetically similar enough to utilize it, however as Kozan cannot manipulate Samsara in the same way Experiment 82 v1 could, they are no longer orbs and instead he wears it as a bracer on his arm. This weapon is condensed Samsara from Experiment 82 v1 that has been treated so that it remains permanently; there is 2x2x2m of Samsara available for manipulation. Through will Kozan is able to manipulate the shape of the weapon and make it take any form, so long as it remains within the dimensions, and he is in physical contact with it. The weapon has speed and strength equal to the users [Control]. While Kozan cannot give/change it's momentum, he is able to modify its shape though he cannot manipulate chakra while modifying its shape, but once it is given a form, he does not need to concentrate on it any longer for it to retain that shape. If Kozan goes unconscious or is [Control]meters away from the weapon, it reverts to a ball shape. Injuries caused by the Truth Seeker Orbs cannot be healed via Enhanced Stamina or Regeneration abilities, and must heal naturally or via iijutsu.

The Overseer continued to observe the combatants. His own Dagger; Kozan, stalked the others and was the first to strike. The young man was a true predator, much like Shinjiro himself. Ambush tactics, assassination or sheer overwhelming force when an opponent was singled out were all well within their arsenals. But how would the others respond to being hunted? It seemed for the Kaguya woman it was to disengage. As far as Shinjiro was aware the woman was a close ranged fighter and there didn’t seem to be any sort of traps prepared to lure Kozan into, so perhaps it was simply fear that led her to retreat. It was fortunate that her mentor, Kaguya Hitachi wasn’t here to observe the Chunin retreating from a Genin. Of course, while rank was to be respected and carried weight within Kirigakure, Shinjiro knew well that strength could not be so easily measured and that with proper tactics even low-ranking shinobi could prove deadly against their superiors.

Unfortunately, in this case it seemed the Genin among the Daggers were the greater threats than their Chunin superiors. Even Yuuto had decided to team up against Kozan and had relied on his Genin cousin, Nozomi to initiate the attack against him while he remained in a passive role. If one didn’t know Yuuto personally, they might think it cunning to encourage others to fight one another and then pick off whoever was left when they were weakened, but Shinjiro knew his younger cousin's mindset. He truly wanted to protect others more than do harm to anyone. It was a noble mindset but one poorly suited for a battle royale, and it was unfortunate that it seemed he still hadn’t learned to fight when necessary. Lastly, there was Shinjiro’s own daughter, Nozomi who despite her being the least skilled in kenjutsu among the Daggers, still showed some promise as a shinobi. Her Chiton ninjutsu use was both clever and effective, utilizing the poisonous blood she had inherited from him and enhancing its effectiveness with ninjutsu, an area that he had always performed poorly in. She had the potential to be a much more deadly poison specialist than he had ever been, though she lacked the raw physicality and imposing force that he was known for. Something that Kozan seemed to be developing. It would be interesting to see how these two clashed and it seemed they would be the only combatants willing to engage. If nothing else he felt some pride in knowing that his daughter and his Dagger both possessed true killing intent and an understanding of the importance of aggression in such a scenario.

Strangely, the final Dagger of the Seven Swordsman, and likely the strongest; Tsukino Hisato, had seemed to vanish, alluding even Shinjiro’s senses. Perhaps Tsukino Hitachi had called him off after seeing the dismal display from the others. He would have to keep an eye on that one, if his strength was truly so great that even the reward offered didn’t interest him then it was likely he was already prepared to become a full member of the Seven and saw no point in proving himself against such weak Daggers.

Nonetheless, Shinjiro couldn’t simply abide by watching a 3vs1. While teaming up to take down an opponent was a valid strategy and ultimately only results mattered, it felt particularly pathetic to see them not even press the attack with such a distinct advantage. If one were to rely on others to such an extent, then surely, they could have at least overwhelmed the singled-out opponent rather than wasting everyone’s time by refusing to engage. And so, to make matters more interesting he would add another variable to consider. Flicking his wings, the overseer would vanish from his vantage point, landing behind some trees about 100 meters away from Yuuto and Nozomi, from behind their position. Green chakra would surge from the Overseer's body as he manifested a snow leopard. While it was out of place for the environment it was nonetheless an expert predator and could maneuver in any terrain with the utmost silence. It would begin to approach, stalking toward its prey from cover as it waited to ambush whoever seemed the most passive and exposed. If the group were to team up the least they could do was keep active and prove themselves to be a threat, any bystanders would quickly find themselves at the mercy of the leopard and anyone felled by the beast would rightfully remove a portion of the reward that would have been allotted to one of the Daggers.

"Tch. I should have known, this is very clearly meant for a wide area. Asuna clicked her tongue and grumbled in annoyance as she heard the patter of rain, blood beginning to fall out of the sky just a moment after. If this had been normal rain it would have been one thing, hell she even enjoyed rain, but from her brief time she had spent with Asami she knew Chiton when she saw it. The thought of a teamup had briefly crossed her mind but she had just as quickly shaken it and this confirmed that she was on her own. Gritting her teeth, she briefly shook her hips and another tail formed, swinging around to swipe away raindrops as it raised above her head, though she couldn't help but grunt in pain as she was unable to stop a few drops from landing on her. Nonetheless she pushed on, her gaze locked onto a single target as she lowered herself into a combat ready stance, channeling chakra into her sword as she ran.

She couldn't help a giggle as Kozan's mist began to form, still locked onto her target as she picked up speed. She pushed past Yuuto as he was dealing with Kozan's assault, ignoring his declaration. She grinned as she closed in on Nozomi, drawing her blade and sending a blast of chakra towards the girl, her blade returning to its sheath just as the blast was released. "I... don't think so. Right now we're all enemies." she grumbled.

Whether Nozomi got hit or not it should serve as a distraction that would be followed up by Asuna making use of her speed advantage to get up close and once more drawing her sword, though rather than slashing she would attempt to drive the pommel directly into Nozomi's gut. If successful she would follow up with a strong kick to the same area, all in an attempt to leave the girl exhausted and helpless to fight back, if not be knocked out entirely.

As soon as Nozomi saw the mist restrain Yuuto she quickly used a explosive tagged kunai, and threw it 5m in front of yuuto trying to place it close enough that it will blow away the mist without hurting him. It was a risky maneuver but currently she had no way of blowing away the mist otherwise. It would most likely help to have counter measures for that later but for now she would just have to make do with what she had.

She would then immediately after turn her attention to the incoming opponent and quickly start forming hand seals as she was coming towards her. When she saw the blast coming towards her she quickly using her maximum speed was able to just barely summersault out of the way. Activating her jutsu before being stabbed only to switch with a nearby bush near the pond she was hiding in previously meanwhile Nozomi was near the pond and would activate a jutsu causing her hand to detach and disappear into the pond as she would jump in the pond at the same time. turning it and the surrounding area around it into a fleshy substance that was very slippery to walk on.

Meanwhile she was in the middle of the fleshy like terraformed pond with her head sticking out watching to see what happens next.

After forming the proper handseals, the user will point her left hand at a surface within 3 meters. Her hand will then shoot out disconnecting from her body and embed itself into the surface it hits as a new one grows in it's place. It digs in with a strength of [Control]. After planting itself, it will begin to release spores that will cover every surface within a 3 meter by 3 meter by 3 meter area, with a 20 centimeters thick layer of viral biomass over the course of 2 post. The biomass slowly pulsates almost like it has a heart beat. The soft rubbery tissue is red and covered in a slimy clear mucus making it rather slippery. In an enclosed space the air becomes hot and humid.

Yuuto was surprised to see Asuna choose not to team up with them, but at the same time he couldn't blame her, this was a battle royale after all. He gritted his teeth and gripped his sword but was shocked to "feel" the rolling mist hug him, his shield had already been raised to cover most of his vital organs and half of his head before he spotted Nozomi toss an explosive kunai, gripping the shield harder, he flexed and prepared for the explosive shockwave.

He pushed against the mist as the explosion occurred, his feet almost slipped but he caught himself nearly immediately, but what came next was near instinctual do to the rigorous training he had gone through with his sword master Mondai, with a simple step and twist, the young pacifist would raise his shield and position himself to allow Truthseeker to glance the shield and continue its hectic path towards destruction, due to the glance parry Truthseeker would continue its warpath towards Asuna's legs instead, the force was strong enough to cause the shield bearer to slide back half a meter, but as if that wouldn't be enough, Yuuto, now feeling betrayed by the Kagyua, would perform a spin attack the second the weapon glanced off his shield.

The sheathed sword was aimed at Asuna's head, he utilized the fact that she was busy fighting the far physically weaker Karagata, the fact that Truthseeker was going to strike her, Nozomi had also used her technique to preoccupy Asuna and that she was within range of his Odachi. If the strike would connect, then the force would be enough to knock her out clean and hopefully sends her flying with Truthseeker. "ARE YOU OKAY NOZOMI!? Focus on assisting me from range! I'll draw Kozan's attention!" Yuuto made sure to position himself in a way that the Truthseeker was within his field of vision and Kozan, currently there was no way he could focus on attacking him without positioning himself in a vulnerable position, as he didn't want to be attacked from the rear. He did not like the fact that Nozomi had already been forced to use Kawarimi, for now she could be taken down without means to protect herself.

If Asuna wasn't knocked out by the strike, then he would continue to assault her with his sheathed weapon, swinging towards her knees, then solar plexus before he ended the combo with a head strike, the shield was his best friend and as long as he held it, he would be safe from any strike delivered by the daggers but truth was, that wasn't his strongest asset, it was Amendment, a weapon he had not used yet as he still waited for the right reason. "Face me monster!" The hero shouted at the beast as he raised his shield and prepared for the incoming onslaught.

This is an upgraded version of Knee Smack, where the user utilizes more power in the strike hoping to crack the knee bone in order to fracture the targets knee. Solar Plexus
C-Rank Maneuver Taijutsu
Yuuto uses the sheath to smack the target on their solar plexus, hoping to wind the target if they fail to protect themselves. (-3 Endurance) until they regain their breath after 3 posts.

Yuuto flips as he raises his weapon and wacks the weapon on top of the targets head, aiming to knock them out cold with a solid wack. If the users Strength is higher than their Endurance then the target will pass out, those with higher stats will experience a strong daze. (-3 Endurance, -3 Will Power) for 5 posts.

Asuna capitalized off what Kozan had set up, launching an attack at Nozomi in the same time all Kozan had attacked Yuuto. Everything happened quite quickly, an explosion freeing the young Karagata as Kozan struck at Yuuto. Despite the shield being a mere 2 feet in size, Yuuto had inexplicably managed to position it to not only block the tentacle aimed at Yuuto’s upper body, but also the truth seeker aimed at his leg.

Despite this daring feat, Kozan had a surprise for the blocked attack. As the truth seeker struck the shield, rather than being deflected it would soften and collapse like a gelatinous blob connected to the tentacle as Kozan continued forward. The weapon would stretch across the surface of the shield, and Kozan would skid to a halt 5 meters from Yuuto as the mist began to encroach back around him from the gap Nozomi blew up.

As the tentacle on Kozan’s back lashed out, whipping at Yuuto’s left side, he would pull with his other arm, the tentacle that the Truthseeker was on retreating and pulling with it the shield that it had wrapped itself around. Yuuto would have a choice - release the shield in order to conduct his attack on Asuna (and likely be hit by Kozan’s back tentacle in the process) or attempt to retain the shield, hoping he could hold onto it despite both Kozan and the Truthseeker pulling at it each with [20 Strength]. And even still he’s be wide open to the back tentacle.

What a predicament.

Yuutos plan backfired, instead of glancing the weapon off his shield, he seemed to invite his opponent to grab ahold of his defence. Defense means nothing if you can't go on the offense. Mondais word bounced inside his brain, he chose to forge Asuna and his shield, sliding until he spotted Kozan step into the clearing.

The fear for Nozomis life heightened the closer he got the predator, working as a double edged sword, making him feel fear and also presenting a true moment to show heart. Yuuto took a step forward and leaped into the air, pushing off the ground with Amendment, using the swords size to protect his rear with the swords sheath and performing a flip right as Kozan's tentacle entered the Pauldrons tenses, causing Yuuto to do something he rarely ever does, draw Judgement in order to cut the incoming tentacle, while continuing the flip to strike Kozan with Amendment.

The aqua bat charged up while he flipped and was aimed to hit the head and center mass, following up with another strike towards center mass or act as defense if Kozan retaliated, in order to stress the predator, the hero knew that he could not give the beast a chance. His mind was still sensing if Asuna was on the prowl, hoping that Nozomi had a plan to deal with her.

As Yuuto and Kozan fought each other Asuna was fully determined to pursue Nozomi, feeling a tad annoyed at the use of substitutions. It took a brief moment to recover from her attack whiffing but she just as quickly shook it off and once more was on the prowl, dashing towards the lake though fleeing back into the forest as she did. As the ground began to transform she swiped at it with her tail as she ran, with the aim of at least keeping her path clear. Her target unfortunately had escaped from sight but that was fine, she could tell well enough that this strange jutsu's origin point seemed to be in the general direction of the pond.

Her hunch was proven right as she soon came across the area in question, hidden up in the trees as she looked over the area. To her great disgust, spores seemed to be erupting from the water, or now flesh rather. Honestly it unnerved her a little but right now she had a mission to accomplish. She had to wonder though, where was Nozomi? Perhaps she was in hiding again?

It was in that moment that she had a sudden thought. pulling out a kunai and an explosive tag, slapping the tag onto the kunai before throwing it towards the pond and detonating it once it was stuck into the surface of the fleshy pond. Perhaps this would be enough to draw her out of hiding?

Making it look like the rest of the floor on the shore line. She sees a kunai incoming and watches as it blows up a 5m section of the fleshy lake. She would then immediately after a plume of scentless almost colorless but with a faint purple hue comes wafting through the air at control speed&strength 27 heading directly into the spot the kunai came from.

Nozomi then waits to see what happens if she was still up and in range she would start doing hand signs to get ready for her next jutsu

Kozan would be surprised to find that Yuuto would release the shield, sliding forward between both of Kozan's tentacles now. As the resistance vanished on the shield, the truth seeker that grabbed it would pull it into the tentacle, the tentacle wrapping around it and pulling back towards Kozan. With Yuuto ahead of it, there was no way Kozan would be able to use it defensively for the next attack.

Yuuto leapt into the air as the mist began to close in around them, the encroaching effect of the mist rebuilding what had been blown away. The tentacle from his back already swinging at Yuuto's left side, Yuuto had to defend. His choice to defend would cost him, however, as Kozan would channel chakra into the tentacle and as the sword swung into the tentacle it would strike nothing solid and instead meld into the gelatinous tentacle. The fluid state of the tentacle would grip the sword in Yuuto's hand and immediately pull Yuuto to the left, Kozan taking a step to the right in the process. Even if Yuuto let go of the sword, the initial yank and Kozan's side step would certainly throw him off course.

Stepping to the right would allow him to extend out his arm, the tentacle with the truth seeker and shield receding enough for Kozan to grab both, holding the shield with his right arm and squaring up at Yuuto whereever he had landed, the shield being held across Kozan's torso slightly off center. The fight was now 1 on 1.

Shield off, flip on a sword, success, cutting the tentacle, not so great! As he struck the tentacle, Kozan would allow the blade to cut into it before he attempted to grab it, due to their matching strength the blade would cut through it but not without a caused delay, allowing Kozan to move out of the way from the second incoming strike. The battle had commenced, and the long-awaited battle of the strongest dagger was on, the experiment vs the wimp!

"I'm not going to lie, you are probably leagues ahead when it comes to combat experience, but I will not waiver." As tough as Yuuto wanted to sound, the fear aura projected from Kozan was getting to him. Not being able to see didn't help his nerves as he feared for Nozomi still, but he knew that he couldn't and shouldn't focus on her health when his was in danger.

Yuuto brandished both of his swords and prepared to fight the experiment, heavy beating heart and adrenaline pumping through his system! "Let's find out who's the best dagger! Shall we?" With that Yuuto would position his stance to be able to block and attack if needed, standing in a low ward stance, what would happen next would be up to the experiment, but what Yuuto mentally prepared for was that Kozan would most likely cower in the mist he had created as he did not expect him to fight him a fair sword fight.

Was her hunch wrong? Had she fallen for a ruse? As nothing seemed to come of her attack Asuna frowned, debating her next move. She would need to lure Nozomi out of that pond somehow but she would have to get creative so as to not waste more resources... The origin point of these jutsu was the center of the pond and she had a hunch that she hadn't been wrong.

Having an idea she snapped off one of the nearby branches on the tree she was hiding in and threw it down aiming towards the center of the pond. It was at that moment that she spotted a faintly purple haze approaching. She knew that Nozomi could use poisons and so she held her breath. Following that she briefly flexed her wrist, ossifying the tips of her fingers at which point she would make a throwing motion, a set of senbon shaped bones heading again towards the center of the pond. Finally she would briefly flex her wrist, a mass of bone forming in her palm that she would then throw again down towards the center of the lake, the mass of bone forming into a pair of cuffs that if her hunch was right would attempt to latch onto Nozomi and hinder her movements and casting.

Honestly having to resort to throwing things blindly was frustrating but there really wasn't a whole lot else that she could do right now and she was beginning to grow just a bit tired. At this point she didn't even care if she won, she just wanted to get in a hit of some kind and she was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen and with any luck even if her attacks didn't connect then there should be some kind of ripple effect flushing her target out for another chase, one that she was absolutely determined to win.

Was already doing hand signs to prepare for her next jutsu when she saw nothing happening with the first one so to prevent a possible counter attack her head that was previously peeking out of the fungus to see the attack would head under water. She would then attempt to swim away from her position back to the south shore where the mist was. But because of the incoming attacks speed she wasn’t able to avoid them. Causing them to blow through her chest causing needle sized holes in her body. She gritted her teeth and groaned in pain but was otherwise uneffected since it missed her core. She then transformed into her full transformation growing 3 sets of wings 2 big sets 1 small set to help protect against further attacks.

The blood that normally would float to the surface was prevented by the layer of fungus covering the top layer where she was swimming. The shackles then were blocked by the middle smaller set of wings preventing them from reaching her arms since her back and there for her wings were on the side facing the surface of the water as she swam. She would then finish her jutsu that she was casting activating her jutsu. Then would continue to swim full speed towards the shoreline under the layer of fungus to hide her movements. Under water.

She would then try to emerge from the pond partially while still inside the mist to hide her presence making sure she was within 25m of Asuna location then using her sensory jutsu she just activated while under water. She would target her with a different jutsu to try to trick her.

Since the first jutsu only needed to be breathed in the fact that this next jutsu didn’t would cause problems if she tried the same methods. Plus the previous jutsu was still in the air around her. Maybe she could get her to stop holding her breath if it works? She would then quickly start doing hand signs to activate the next jutsu shooting a plume of smoke at Asuna’s location. Both of Kozan's tentacles had retreated, the first mostly contained within his arm, the second waving an extending from the back of his ribcage like a poorly placed tail, waving in the air. "I'm going to beat your head in with this shield.", he would say to Yuuto, grinning wide as the mist enveloped him. With only 5 meters between them and the mist filling back in, Kozan would take a few steps backwards, allowing the mist to conceal him. Even with the pauldron on his shoulder, the mist would be strong enough to mask Kozan's location from Yuuto...but Kozan could still sense him with his fear sense.

Channeling once more, Kozan would reach forward with his free hand, the mist becoming dense and heavy around Yuuto, locking him in place with [23 Strength]. This time, he'd have no shield to protect him and no ally to disperse the mist. Rushing forward with the shield in hand, Kozan would thrust forward with his free arm, the truth seeker extending forward into a pike against, this time intending to strike straight through the right side of Yuuto's abdomen, likely shredding his liver in the process. As he did this, he'd bring the shield around, slamming into Yuuto's side, intending to throw him to the ground. If he combination was successful, Kozan would stand as he was, looking over Yuuto with his bright yellow eyes, Yuuto's own mirror shield hovering over his body like a guillotine.

It all went exactly like Yuuto expected, the one who was known as a wimp rose to the challenge while the predator would move into the shadow and hide, Yuuto, now knowing that the mist was his greatest danger would sheath his swords and start forming a set of hand seals, his mind working overtime as he prepared for what was to come. He will most likely use the mist to grab you again as he already has proof that it works on you, a monster that doesn't dare to fight you in a one on one will use anything in its disposal to get rid of you as fast as possible, though it has to consume a lot of chakra... Which means.

Yuuto had been thought how to fight in a hit and run tactic from his father, the master assassin of Kirigakure and today he would have to utilize that training. So once the mist grabbed Yuuto, he would wait for the incoming strike from the Truthseeker before the jutsu was activated. Instead of cutting Yuuto in the stomach, Kozan would watch how a puff of smoke was created, the shield would make the smoke disappear and slam into a wooden log. Yuuto appeared 30 meters to the southwest of Kozan and would continue to run out of the mist before he leapt up into the canopy and hid from the fight. He had already felt the effect of Kozans killer instinct leave his body as he no longer feared for Nozomi's life and instead felt how his heart pace slowed down.

Stay safe Nozomi. Yuuto wasn't planning on leaving her to fend for herself, but he needed to play this game differently if he wanted to stand a chance at winning.

As Nozomi was beginning to swim away Asuna had already descended from the treetops, though still holding her breath. Sounds were still dampened due to Kozan's mist but even still she was certain she would have heard some kind of ripples or a splash if Nozomi had emerged from the pond so that meant either she wasn't in there after all or she was simply refusing to emerge. For a moment she wondered if she may even have been led into a trap, though she quickly dismissed that notion. There was only one way to find out.

There was no time to hesitate and so without a moment's she ran towards the nearest hole she had opened earlier and dove into the water, swimming full speed ahead. Being underwater, most of the mist couldn't reach and she could see and hear much more clearly. And so that meant she could see her target not too far in the distance, finally Nozomi was in sight, though there was no telling for how long.

As she swam she didn't hesitate, once more channeling chakra into her sword and briefly drew it with one hand before slamming it back into its sheath, a blast of chakra a total of 8 meters tall and wide would fly forward at a speed and strength of 15 for a total of 35 meters, aimed upwards so as for it to continue pursuing Nozomi even should she escape out of the water, the blast being followed shortly after by another kunai, though this one without an explosive attached. And she herself would continue her pursuit regardless of if she made any contact or not, determined to catch up and put an end to this before she lost either sight of her again or Yuuto and Kozan finished their own battle.

would notice as Asuna comes into her range of her sensory jutsu seeming running to the pond she was in,so she quickly starts channeling as she begins swimming for the bottom of the pond. Activating the chiton jutsu to make 5 spikes pop out of the blood she was covered in from the rain. The spikes would then inject the poisoned blood into her system ((control speed&strength 25 for chiton jutsu)) and ((control 27 for the previous poison jutsu being injected)) after that Asuna comes into view so she immediately starts channeling a new jutsu after the first one.

Then watches Asuna shoot that same jutsu as before at her so she quickly flaps her wings to give herself momentum in the water to barely dodge the jutsu and continue swimming downward. Asuna clearly thought she was going to try to retreat to the top of the pond because of the position of the kunai. When it hit she blocked it with her top wing then immediately after pulled out the kunai and threw it away. She then kept swimming deeper to the bottom of the pond taking out her sword this time in case of further kunai attacks.

Asuna forgot two things when she went into the water to fight her. One was that she didn’t need to breathe under water like Asuna did the second was that poison spreads easier in water since lots of poisons and diseases were water soluble.

She then soon after Nozomi watched to see what else she would do and tried To see if she would head deeper into the pond with Nozomi if she did or if she seemed like she was going to exit the pond.

Nozomi would activate her poison jutsu using her exceptional chakra control for a genin to make the jutsu larger than normal filling. The entire 30M pond with dokuton poison. Turning it into a burning Hellscape that would eat away at all organic tissue in the pond besides herself. Because of Nozomi unique body she was immune to Dokuton chakra.

Yuuto vanished, and Kozan would hit the log with the shield, sending it flying in another direction. He paused for what was only a beat before darting off to the west. Not bothering to run his full speed, he’d take off at a moderate pace, allowing himself to take in his surroundings.

In his mind, Kozan would do a quick calculus. The mist had covered a good bit of distance, and it was obvious Yuuto did not have a way of navigating it, so he’d almost certainly have gone in a direction that would pull him out of the mist, so there was no way he’d gone East. North of them was Nozomi and Asuna, but they had still been in range of his sense when Yuuto vanished, so if he had joined them, he would have picked up on Yuuto. That meant Yuuto wasn’t to the East, nor to the North. So there were only two other options. He’d need to narrow down further. This is what Kozan was good at though, a natural born hunter, making these assessments to determine where his target had gone was his forte.

Once he’d travel roughly 15m to the west, he’d pivot to the south, Nozomi and Asuna vanishing from his sense. Yuuto couldn’t have gone too far, and if he was running, Kozan would at least pick up on that which meant odds were he was staying still. And then…heat.

There was Yuuto.

Kozan would smirk, do a short hand seal, and then vanish into a puff of smoke. In an instant, he’d replaced a crop of branches above Yuuto and would appear above him, descending on the boy with the shield below him, the tentacle on his back reaching out at Yuuto from around the body to strike at him.

If Kozan is somehow still able to track me down, then at least I know Nozomi is safe from the predator. Yuuto grit his teeth and grabbed Amendment, the water spell covered the sword as he peered around the tree, looking down and back towards the mist, secretly hoping that he had managed to slip past his senses, but his gut told him otherwise. Thinking back to how he heard the commotion, how Asuna ran from the beast, how he seemed to attack from out of view and rather avoided close quarters, he could only deduct that he liked to attack from blind spots.

If it weren't for the ruffling noise and pauldron then he would have probably not have noticed the predators approach, the terrifying being that set shock to those far weaker than them, but to the hero it only alerted him to the danger ahead, this was a true boss. He snapped and twisted around as he struck the shield, his overwhelming strength would send the predator flying back towards a nearby tree located 3 meters behind, the unprecedented force would be enough to knock the wind out of Kozan if he smacked into it. "I guess I'm your biggest threat!" Yuuto dodged the swinging tentacle, which he expected to be used to either attempt to grab him or the tree, using opportune at hand would flip and deliver a follow up smack that would send him flying towards the ground and bounce him. "I'm flattered, but you creep me out!"

Finishing the combo by pushing off the tree and aiming to pierce with Judgement, Yuuto was ready to shift it away from the shield and towards his lower body, while preparing himself to be counter attacked, he would mind the tentacle and make sure that it wouldn't pierce any vital organs if it came back to haunt him. He had to admit that he was a scary being, but the hero knew that this was now or never.

Despite the pain she felt as blood needles pricked her skin and a burning sensation accompanied it, Asuna couldn't help but smile as Nozomi simply dodged her attack rather than running away. Nozomi may have thought she had the advantage since they were underwater but she had overlooked something crucial, this entire time Asuna could clearly see what was in front of her and had been rapidly closing the distance between them. Being much faster she would be able to close the remaining distance in the blink of an eye.

As Nozomi was attempting to swim downwards asuna was rapidly following behind. She pulled a pair of shuriken out of her pouch and threw them towards Nozomi's head, one right underneath the other. Whether they made contact or were simply dodged it would be the perfect opportunity for Asuna to disrupt Nozomi's concentration and slow down her casting, but more importantly allowing her to close the distance completely. Once she was just a couple feet away her tail lashed forward, attempting to stab Nozomi on the right side of her torso and make use of her greater strength to keep her from escaping as well as do some damage. Whether successful or not she would use the opportunity to slash in a wide arc in an attempt to dig her blade in and drag it across Nozomi's torso following up with a slash towards her right arm in attempt to cause a great deal of pain if not sever it entirely.

The most iconic (and most basic) strike of Iaido, the practitioner quickly draws and cuts with their blade in a wide arc in one fluid motion. This simultaneous draw and attack straight from the scabbard makes Iaido well-suited for an initial surprise attack and for taking advantage of openings presented by the opponent.

Nozomi would continue to channel while running away but it was impossible to finish in time the speed gap and the fact her concentration was so easily broken was the real clincher in the end. It was so frustrating she was seconds away from Winning before she was cut in half. Causing the fight to be over, she was no longer in any condition to continue so she said “I surrender” then her two halves started to swim back to shore where she would wait to see what happens next.

As she waited she tried to think of what else she could’ve done to win at least one battle. But for now she would wait to see how the battle turned out frustrated that she wasn’t able to do anything after everything she tried.

Ones thing for sure she would definitely need a way to concentrate better maybe she would have to practice channeling while getting hurt in the future.
