Naohiro, clad in a generic HHD operative's dull uniform and wearing a plain, featureless white mask, stood waiting with his hands clasped behind his back and an empty office before him. Outside the great tower at the centre of Kirigakure no Sato, the first rays of sunlight wove pink through the village mists. He couldn't wait long, and hoped the three young shinobi would soon be with him. The other two, Yuuto and Mondai, had already been and gone. Their eagerness had brought a smile to his otherwise stressed demeanour. With any luck, the next three would do so again. Asuna, Nozomi, Kozan. Three particularly talented names, all daggers within the Seven and soon, probably, much more. He turned to check over his usual weapons and equipment in a wardrobe behind him—ready to change and depart as soon as he was done here—and only stopped and concealed the attire when the three new operatives arrived.

What followed was a short but intense mission briefing. He did not waste time with formalities such as identifying himself, but got right to business instead. He sat the three ninja—two genin and a chuunin, though by reports all were progressing rapidly—down at individual desks and pinned a map of Ocha Province, the Water Country peninsula once known as Tea Country, to a board at the front of the room. On it were clearly marked arrows and lines showing the estimated positions and numbers of Heart Empire soldiery attacking their nation, as well as the locations and plans of the local garrisons. Kenihiku, once a military outpost established by Tea in one of their conquered neighbour states and since adopted into Water Country, was circled twice.

Their mission was simple, and each of the three had already been given a scroll—which was now taken back and destroyed for security—with their orders: They were to assist in transporting essential supplies to the frontline of samurai of Water Country. Weapons and armours, enchanted with the myriad shinobi powers of Kirigakure. Equipment, foodstuffs, medical supplies, and more. All the things needed to transform a surprised garrison into a first-rate army worth of a Grand Shinobi Nation. They were to begin at Kenihiku, meet up with a supply caravan there, and accompany and defend the convoy on its journey south through the warring peninsula to resupply and bolster the armies at the frontline. A number of samurai may or may not be accompanying the group, but nevertheless the benefit of having three trained ninja along to assist could be invaluable. So long as most of the supplies reached Water Country's army, their mission would be considered a success.

As the most senior of the group, it would technically fall to Asuna to make the decisions and lead, though Naohiro intentionally did not dissuade the others in doing so if the need arose. It all went without saying, regardless. They were ordered not to engage the enemy directly themselves unless their safety was assured—Kirigakure was not willing to lose such prospects on such a simple mission—but only time would tell what could happen on their journey.

Once any questions the trio had were answered, Naohiro would approach each and give them the option of recieving a number of fuuinjutsu tattoos about their persons; one, marking a tiny seal behind an ear and on the inside of their lower lips, would permit them to communicate both with each other and with himself or his colleagues within the HHD, whenever required. The other seal, larger and more complex, would mark them as accepted operatives of Kirigakure's Head Hunter Division, and allow them to recieve support or extraction from afar in case of emergency. Together, the seals would allow Naohiro or his staff to reverse-summon the young operatives to safety upon a call for aid, or find and join them in their task.

Briefing done and support offered, Naohiro would usher them through an adjoining door where what could only be described as a tear in reality awaited to whisk them away to the depths of Kenihiku and their mission. The rift hung in the air like a door, with frayed edges of what seemed like mist, coiling around and inwards upon itself as it waited for their passage. A well-lit room with water country banners adorning the walls could be seen through the gateway...

CLASSIFIED

Water Country is under threat from foreign invasion. Your nation requires your loyalty and service in its darkest hour since the years of the fourth great shinobi war.
The deceptive and power hungry tyrants of the so-called Heart Empire have landed massed samurai forces in the territories of Ocha Province, formerly Tea Country. Their objective is the complete subjugation and conquest of the region, at any cost to the local population and consequences of world war. Water Country has immediately mobilised its own samurai forces to counter the threat, and intense fighting has begun along the peninsula.

Your orders, should you choose to accept them, are to deliver essential supplies and resources from Kirigakure to the Water Country divisions deployed to Ocha Province. Your aid will be instrumental in ensuring the noble defenders of Water Country are supported and equipped with the finest chakra-enhanced weapons, materials, and aid that the Hidden Mist can provide. Following delivery, you are to assist the civilian population of the region wherever possible on your return journey.

You are instructed to avoid all direct engagements with hostile forces unless your victory and safety is guaranteed. Kirigakure demands you return home alive.

Report immediately to the Head Hunter Division headquarters recruitment office in the ground floor of the Mizukage Tower to accept your assignment and receive travel clearance.

Signed,
Aisu Naohiro

Augment Fuuinjutsu • Group Link
B-Rank Augment Fuuinjutsu
By performing the necessary hand seals, the user will can touch a number of targets up to their [Chakra Pool] on their ear and the lips, this creates an audio link between themselves and up to [Chakra Pool] targets they personally place this seal combination on. While hearing is always active, channeling chakra into the seal allows affected targets to speak, their words being stored and transmitted to the other seals. The act of speaking charges negligent chakra.

[Operator Authentication Seal]
A-Rank Augment Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: Caster must know [Hunter’s Cryptolect] to create, alter, or remove

A complex multi-layered fuuinjutsu seal, this technique marks a target with a small barcode-like formula of encrypted information which can only be decoded or removed using the [Hunter's Crypolect] in addition to advanced fuuinjutsu removal knowledge of equal or greater rank. The seal and its encoded information is unique to each bearer, and is connected to the bearer’s chakra network. The encoded information in the seal serves as a unique identifier and authentication token that can be scanned to unlock access doors into the HHD headquarters and any secured organisation outposts or bases, and provides the bearer with the ability to activate and safely traverse the HHD teleportation Black Network. The seal additionally serves as an emergency alert beacon to the organisation, lying dormant until such a time as the bearer’s chakra network ceases to function — as occurs in death — or the seal formula itself is damaged, removed from the bearer’s body, or is interfered with by a foreign chakra source. In such an eventuality, the seal activates and sends an emergency signal through the HHD headquarters and division captains through the [Secure Operator Network] and [Captain Authentication Seal]s containing a directional bearing and approximate distance, alerting them to the bearer's death or that the security of the seal has been compromised. This can not only aid the Division in locating the bearer's body, but prompts them to change the encryption and authentication of their teleportation network and base access doors. Doing so invalidates all existing Authentication Seals, forcing the organisation to remove and reapply fresh seals with the new encrypted passkey information to all other bearers.

Frankly Asuna was nervous as could be but she did her best not to show it as she listened intently to the mission briefing. The scroll given to her beforehand had given the basic rundown but it seemed there was a bit more to it than she had initially assumed, though they were ultimately being relegated to a supporting role in the fight against Heart. What made her most nervous though was the fact that she was to be in charge, to make sure things ran smoothly and that she and her juniors all came out of this without issue. She was glad however that her first time being in charge was in the company of her fellow Daggers whom she had some familiarity with.

Soon enough the briefing came to an end and she gladly received the Fuuin that had been offered. The more prideful parts of her personality wanted to refuse but logic won out. There was always the chance the mission could go sideways in some way and there was no point in refusing aid.

In any case once ready she turned towards the portal that had opened, unable to help a small smile at the sight. It was really quite cool to see, there was so much utility in being able to control Space/Time itself and she found herself wanting to do it herself someday.

"So are you two ready? Let's go and get this done." She was still lacking confidence even now but she wasn't about to let it show as she walked forward through the portal and towards their destination, ready to get this task underway.

Nozomi woke up early getting dressed like usual. Then after eating as soon as she got the message she would a quick would quickly head over to the tower to begin reporting in for the mission. She was excited for her first official mission and wanted to show all of kirigakure and especially her family how well she could perform.

Soon after she got there it would seem they would start a briefing on the mission which seemed rather straight forward. She would carefully listen in to the very long briefing. It was her first official mission and she didn’t want to screw it up.

After the briefing was over she would think about what was said and wonder if there were any concerns so she would say “does the fact you aren’t giving us anchors mean that theres no troops to spare if something happens and we should just abandon the supplies and prioritize escaping?”

After that question was finished and she received her answer she would wait as the Fuinjutsu tattoo’s were applied then say “ready when you are.” She would then wait near the portal to leave and if everyone was ready to go would leave with them.
