Hunting a ghost from the past

Senna was traveling around the area moving from place to place it was nice and peaceful and hadn’t heard or seen and signs of anyone coming after them for a long time. But as they were enjoying there peaceful life after awhile something seemed amiss. So they started to look around to see what it could be? It turns out someone was looking for them so they visited a lake nearby in a large clearing with the occasional large rocks and bushes about 2m tall the ground was grassy but didn’t even go up to your ankles.

The clearing was about 80m wide with trees at the end of it and a 30m radius pond in the middle of the 80m clearing. The pond was 30m deep as well, one large rock about stood 20m above the water level at the center of the pond Senna was currently ontop of the 20m rock holding a fishing pole with the line in the water. Hoping that his bad feeling was wrong as well as the rumors of someone looking for him. He patiently waited as he continued fishing. Trying to secretly keep a eye out on his surroundings for any danger.

Kozan had been dispatched off to the southeast to identify a young Fushinkou who had gone missing a short time ago ahead killing his team on a mission. Much like the pursuit for Anger, it seemed this mission was less about the outcome itself and instead another test of Kozan and his ability. He'd stopped by a small town and had been told the boy he'd been sent after had been seen around there, but asking questions had appeared to gotten the word to him because the last person Kozan had spoken to let him know that Senna had been seen ditching town and heading out to the forest. There was allegedly a fishing spot he frequented, and it was suspected that is where he had headed.

Kozan would stalk into the forest, heading in the direction he'd be instructed up until he could see the break away of the trees and the glistening of a pond in the distance. The clearing was relatively large, and with little to hide behind, Kozan was in something of a pickle. He'd not be able to just close in on his target, nor was there a tight enough space to cast mist on the area.

Channeling chakra into his hands, two arrows would form from the samsara on his knuckles that he'd snap away, as the truthseeker on his arm would inch forward before extending into his hand and forming into a bow. Placing his body against a tree and remaining in it's shadow, Kozan would place both arrows on the bow, pull back, and fire. One arrow hidden in the shadow of the other and flying towards his back, the first was aimed for the boy's heart, the second for the center of his spine. Once fired, Kozan would quickly run through the shadows to the east, aiming to circle around the boy and stop him from identifying where Kozan was.

Kozan will flex one of his fingers, causing a thin tendril of samsara to form from one of the knuckles and extend out up to 5m, only a few inches in diameter, before forming into a firm rod with a pointed end. This can then be broken off and used as an projectile, a smaller polearm, or a variety of other purposes.

C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
By launching two projectiles, one immediately after the other, the practitioner attempts to create a decoy for the second. The first projectile is often larger or of equal size, and the second projectile is slightly behind and below it, the second projectile hiding in the first projectile's shadow. This masks the second projectile and makes it more difficult for the opponent to completely avoid. Opponents with a Perception technique equal or higher in rank may be able to see both projectiles clearly within a reasonable distance, though they'll still have to properly defend against it.

Kozan has learned to adequately use the shadows to hide himself, and is extremely skilled at moving from shadow to shadow. So long as a covered area is within 2 strides of his current position, Kozan is able to move seamlessly between positions, keeping himself hidden. This works unless someone watching him has [+3 Speed] from Kozan or a sight perception technique of a higher rank than this.

Senna would be casually looking around the area for any incoming attacks as he fished he had chosen this location so he could draw any would be assassins out into the open so he could engage them in a head to head fight. But it seems it wouldn’t be that easy after all. As he spotted to arrows out of the corner of his eye approaching he immediately tried to use his ninjutsu to defend if it managed to pierce it he would be in trouble having very little way to defend himself from this opponent. After doing hand signs as he spun around to meet the attacks head on an orb of water spun around him to protect him. ((Control speed and strength 19)) Just incase he also used his arms to protect his vital spots on his torso.

But just as he feared the arrows managed to pierce through the wall and hit his arms so he immediately dove into the pond to hide. Hopefully his opponent wouldn’t be able to locate him from the distance inside this pond forcing them to get closer. While under water he would look above trying to wait to see if he could see them approaching. While he was in the pool he would use his clan jutsu to negate the wounds he received temporarily.

Suiton • Defensive Barrier
D-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user will spray water created from the inside of their chest through their mouth. Once the water is expelled, it will form an umbrella shape that is concave to the user and about two meters in diameter. This defense is somewhat solid and can be formed in any direction the user can spit, up to 10 meters away. The defense is shot at [Control] Speed and has [Control] Strength and unless completely destroyed it lasts for three posts before falling lifelessly to the ground.

Disbelief of Minor Injury
B - Ranked Ninjutsu
The user will channel chakra onto an injury on their body, returning that part of their body two posts into the past. The injury should be minor, no large than the users palm, and excessively bleeding. For the next 3 posts the user will remain in the "reversed" state, after which, the injury will return.

The boy bailed into the water, deflecting the attack with some sort of suiton barier that immediately imploded, but surely reduced the strength of the arrows as they barreled into him. He'd been lucky in this case, seeing with enough time to defend the attack. With the bow still in hand, Kozan shot though the forest until he was a clear 90 degree angle from where he'd been previously. The boy was in the water...surely he couldn't stay underwater forever. For a moment Kozan considered just waiting...but Senna was a suiton user, leaving him in the water for too long would give him an advantage and maybe even an opportunity to set up.

Well, he'd jumped off the rock, so at a minimum Kozan would have a sense that he was somewhere around there. Channeling once more, another arrow would form, but before mounting it in the bow, Kozan would reach into his flak jacket and pull an explosive tag, wrapping it around the point of the arrow. Leaning back, he'd fire the arrow high into the sky, letting it arc up and down, flying into the rock Senna had just been on. As it impacted, Kozan would perform a single kai, the arrow - and rock - exploding. The shrapnel would be sent out in a radial blast, Kozan hoping the rocks being thrown from the explosion would be able to hit Senna and disrupt anything he was planning.

Then he'd emerge from the trees, bow still in hand, and slowly walking towards the pond, watching to see if Senna would exit the water.

Sena would be 25m below the water near the bottom of the pond holding his breath when he suddenly got an idea and activated the suiton defensive barrier jutsu to create an air pocket for him to hide in. As he was performing the jutsu he saw another of those strange powerful arrows strike the rock he was on and explode. This one clearly had an explosive seal on it. Which made him think the man was trying to draw him out maybe the man wasn’t good in close combat? Or maybe he thought it would just be safer to snipe from a distance? Regardless the man had to do something to escape or kill his attacker.

So he waited in his air pocket as he began to channel a new jutsu while the water barrier blocked all shrapnel and rocks falling on him

With his opponent nowhere in sight, Kozan had little to do besides stand on the shore and wait.

As they see there opponent on the shore they quickly start to swim upwards as fast as they can using a jutsu to boost there speed in the water by making jets shoot out of there hands they come rocketing out ((control speed 19)) and try to palm strike the opponents leg in a surprise strike. Then lands next to them noticing the strange sense of fear that just appeared and wondered what that could be? They begin channeling the fear suppression jutsu just in case they need it.

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
The practitioner throws a palm strike towards an opponents leg utilizing all their momentum and force by swinging their shoulders and hips, targeting the opponent's thigh. Landing this strike causes immense discomfort and a hairline fracture in one of the bones, and if the opponent continues to heavily use and strain the targeted leg, the hairline fracture can degrade into a full severe fracture. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

After channeling chakra into their hands the user will fire two jets of water from their hand, essentially hurling and propelling themselves in the opposite direction of their jets as if thrown by [Control] Strength.

The explosion went for little effect, with no noticeable reaction from his target within the water. However, as he stood on the shore he could see the water failing to settle and then would begin sensing fear radiating from Senna as he entered Kozan’s range. Taking a hazard step back, the truth seeker on Kozan’s arm would jump to life, surging forward along his forearm as Senna exploded out of the water and through the air. Forming a single hand sign, light would radiate from Kozan’s back through his mesh clothing as one of the fuuinjutsu on his back activated, boosting his strength. As Senna went for a low strike, Kozan would return in kind, throwing his fist downward into Senna’s clavicle, hoping to break it. Kozan’s leg would buckle as Senna struck his leg; despite Kozan’s greater strength the strike would still hurt a fair amount, and Kozan would collapse forward. Attempting to use this to his advantage, he would try to then wrap an arm around Senna’s body, thrusting his other knee forward into Senna’s ribcage as he did. Hopefully his strength here would give him an advantage and allow him to tackle to Senna to the ground. If he could, he was sure he’d be able to get the advantage over the Fushinkou missing ninja.

Doing a series of hand seals or drawing the seal, Kozan will place his hand on the target, activating the seal. This seal gives +9 Strength for its duration, at the cost of -9 Control.

After getting hit hard in the clavicle by Kozan he staggers for a bit and realized Kozan was stronger but based on the attack it was just an average rather mundane attack but with greater force behind unlike his jutsu that was less striking force but was a specialized strike from a jutsu designed to do maximum damage to the body. Though as Kozan is falling towards him, trying to grab him. He is unable to side step him in his injured condition. So he quickly rolls to the side to avoid Kozan’s grapple and then transitions from the quick roll back into a fighting stance. He then quickly heads over to Kozan while he’s on the ground and grabs his arm to put him into a arm bar

D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
This technique requires the practitioner to get close and personal, grabbing the opponent and forcing them into an armbar. Once the opponent is forced into an armbar, the practitioner must then open up their fingers and bend them back with immense force until they break or dislocate. This prevents the opponent from forming handseals unless they relocate their fingers or mend the bone breakage. The practitioner's Strength must be 5 points higher than the opponent's Strength to achieve the desired effect of this technique.

Kozan’s first strike would land, but as he collapsed forward onto Senna, he’d find that his opponent would roll out of the way, Kozan falling on air and nothing to prevent his momentum. As he threw his arms forward to catch his fall, Senna would return with a counter attack, wrapping his legs around Kozan’s arm. Kozan would grimace, his counter too slow. But, Kozan was strong enough to resist and he wouldn’t fall suspect to the arm bar too quickly, reaching up at Senna’s face with us free arm scratching at his face in an attempt to loosen the grip. Channeling chakra as he pulled against his opponent attempting to open his hand, a tentacle would erupt from Kozan’s back and surge over at Senna’s neck, attempting to loop around it and squeeze with all of Kozan’s strength. Now it was a battle of wills, who would fall to the other first?

Kozan will channel chakra into his back, creating a single tendril up to [Control]m in length to form from his ribcage. Kozan can control this like a prehensile tail, and has his [Speed] and [Strength].

Would notice the attempt at scratching his face but seeing as the arm was too far away he ignored it for now. But soon the holes in his arms returned causing a good amount of pain. But he had to push through it if he wanted to win. Though soon a shocking revelation came as he noticed his opponent channeling causing him to channel a jutsu as well. Though he wondered if there was any point in this if he could channel jutsu anyway? Should he try to change tactics? But because of his strange jutsu in effect that increased Kozan’s strength Senna managed to finish his jutsu first and he shot 3 rain bullets at Kozan.
One at the tendon in the leg closest to him.


Finally the last two were at his lower back around the area of the spine. ((Control speed 18 control strength 20)) Soon after his jutsu went off he watched in horror as the strange tentacle burst out of his back. It was quite shocking as well as quite problematic making this attempt more dangerous than before. He watched nervously as he saw it start to move around under Kozan and tried to pin it under Kozan’s body to prevent it from moving forward as he continued the arm bar.

After performing the correct hand seals the user expels three (3) 2-centimeter diameter droplets of water from their mouth in quick succession, each of which explode with [Control] Strength on impact, scattering water all over the immediate area. These droplets fly up to 25 meters away at [Control] Speed.

Senna performed his own jutsu in response, and a bullet would fly from his mouth and into Kozan's left leg. He'd yank with his arm as this happened, the tentacle slipping around Senna's neck. As it did so, it would crank back on Senna's neck with [29 strength] intending to prevent him from being able to blast anymore bullets from his mouth. Kozan was stronger than Senna, if only by a small amount, and so as Senna continued the arm bar, Kozan would continue to pull back against it, keeping a slight bend in his elbow that would prevent any real traction against his arm. Unable to reach Senna's face, Kozan would push against the ground with his right arm, not able to put any weight on his now limp leg from the injury. Now focusing on his truth seeker weapon, the black blob would change shape and extend from Kozan's arm, stabbing into Senna's leg lower leg and attempting to cut through his calf muscles. If Kozan could remove the tension from Senna's leg, he'd be able to break free from the arm bar without any issue at all.

As he noticed the liquid leaking out from under kozan back he got a bad feeling so began channeling again. Only to find out the liquid was some how alive?! Most likely connected to Kozan somehow. What the hell’s going on!? He then watched as after enough liquid trickled out that it came and strangled him most likely to prevent him from spitting out any more water bullets.

But it was at this point water was forming in his hands and building up pressure (control speed 7) the pressure would keep building pressing and eventually shooting at Kozan’s arm. He then noticed the blade forming in Kozan’s other arm and as it went to cut into his calf he moved it out of the way. Trying to instead kick Kozan in his side max strength to hopefully flip him on to his back where he saw the black liquid coming from. This would break the hold on Kozan but the moment he did the pressure from the blast had reached maximum efficiency ((control strength 31)) he then let go of Kozan’s arm and blasted him with the water in the back if he was successful in flipping Kozan over if not it would just hit him in the rib cage.

He hoped this would break the strange liquids hold on him allowing him to escape and try a different approach.

Kozan would feel the tentacle squeezing at Senna's neck, and as he sent his truthseeker at Senna's other leg, he'd let out a frustrated grunt as Senna started to channel again. Senna would release a stream of water at Kozan from his grip, seemingly releasing Kozan from the arm bar in an escape attempt. Kozan, however, would refuse to release, and as Senna launched his body away from Kozan in an attempt to separate them, Kozan's tentacle would remain tight and pull against him. Instead, Senna's lower body would fly in one direction, and his head would stay in position. With a quick motion, a loud crack could be heard as Senna's neck snapped under the tension, the water spraying from his hands stopping almost immediately and his body very quickly going limp.

Kozan would remain laying on he ground for a second, the tentacle staying tight around the now broken neck as Kozan waited to see if his opponent was still alive in some way. When no struggle or resistance came, Kozan would slow sit, channeling briefly before reaching down to his leg to begin healing the wound from the bullet. This had not gone as smoothly as Kozan had wanted, but it had gone well enough.

Standing and making a few circles with his ankle to test the recovered injury, Kozan would wipe his pants off for a moment and then reach down to Senna's body. He had intended to pick up the body, pausing for a moment when he saw the injuries on the Fushinkou's chest. Thinking back to the approach, he tried to remember if the injuries had been there when Senna had first approached. Letting out a slow breath, Kozan was sure the injury hadn't been there at first. While he had an understanding of how the Fushinkou's kekkei genkai worked, this had been his first time interacting with it. While minor, he wondered how helpful such an ability would be. Could he have simply disbelieved his arm in this moment and broken free of the armbar? Kozan's mind ran very quickly through all the possibilities, before finally giving a sort of affirmative nod, reaching down to pick up Senna's body and throw it over his shoulders in a fireman carry.
