You've been dropped off right outside the entrance to a large cave, which you've been told is the entrance to the bear den. With you, there are three helpers. A tall one, with a very nice neck beard. A short one, with an afro. And a medium sized one, completely bald.Now, they're not here to help you take down the bears, oh no. They're here to tag each one you knock out, and drag it outside the cave to be picked up.

As you near the cave, a loud roar can be heard. This would confirm any doubts that this is the right cave. Oh, I should mention that on top of that, you can hear a faint rattling coming from inside the cave.

(OOC: I still don't entirely know if these are just senbon covered with a tranquilizer or if the senbon is filled with a liquid tranquilizer that's pressure-released or something like that. For now, I'm going to post under the assumption that it is the first. Also, I have no clue as to whether these are normal sized senbon or mini-senbon like what Rubi uses. Should it be the first (just as an FYI) i have all of one jutsu that is compatible with normal-sized senbon.)

Rubi approached the cave and noted the three... interesting men that waited at its entrance. She walked up to them and simply gave a formal greeting; Rubi wasn't one for idle pleasantries. "Hello. My name is Ibara Rubi, and I am a chunin of Sunagakure no Sato. I will be assisting you on your endeavors today. Just remember to stay by me, and you should be fine. Now, please follow me."

With that, Rubi made a few seals and loaded a mini-senbon clip into her prosthetic, slowly making her way into the cave at the front of the group.

After making a set of seals, Rubi uses her chakra to quickly recoil the firing spring in her prosthetic for more shots. Using this jutsu, she can fire off senbon in 3 shot bursts every half second for 3 posts up to a range of 15 feet.

((OOC: JUST AN FYI, they can be whatever kind of senbon are useful to her. I don't really care. If it suits her, you could make it have normal and half mini, idc. Also, they are coated.))

The men just nodded. They didn't really care for this woman. They were just there to keep those bears nice and safe anyway. If anything, they would be cleaning up her mess if she hurt one. They followed behind her as she entered the cave, the tall one bending down a bit to avoid hitting his head.

As they entered the cave they would immediately notice how damp it was, and also how little light entered the cave. Those flashlights they had were going to be used a lot.

Thankfully, Rubi was on her toes. Rubi jumped back, her flashlight in her right hand, illuminating the source of the sound, and her launcher shooting one of the tranquilizer senbon at whatever the light revealed.

(OOC: Really crappy post, I know. I wasn't really sure what to do with "a rustling" off to the side other than to shine and shoot. Sue me. Also, I figured since I'm using the previous jutsu and that it's still in effect, there was no point in actually posting it. Let me know if you want me to anyways.)

Once Rubi fired, all was silence for a moment inside the cave. Then, a small white bunny fell out of the bushes, unconscious. The man with the afro went to check it out, kneeling down to remove the senbon from the bunny's body. Tossing the senbon away, all three of the men seemed to glare at Rubi for harming this poor bunny.

So, great first impression. Trigger happy bitch.

Rubi couldn't have cared less what the men's impressions of her were; all she knew was that she had one senbon less to finish the job with. Obviously irritated, she made a familiar set of seals and continued into the cave, her light illuminating the area directly ahead of her. Next time, she would be sure to get a good look at what she was shooting at. She only had so many of these tranquilizer senbon left, and she still wasn't entirely sure how she was going to down the other six bears without them.

As they walked down the tunnels of the cave, they would all notice there were torn up bags and half eaten food scattered about randomly. Well, they were bears after all. Steal them picnic baskets Yogi, steal them baskets. Or bags. Whatever.

After walking to the top of a small rise, they hear a frightening sound. Rattles.

If they shined their lights down into the area below the rise they stood on, they would see very large amount of rattle snakes just below them. That should be fun to get past.

Had Rubi been by herself, she would have had no problem traversing this obstacle. The situation was made more difficult, however, by the fact that she had to drag along these three animal-loving retards.

Just her luck.

She turned to the three men, hoping they might have a solution; otherwise, she'd have to forge on alone. "We're going to need some torches. Find a way to make or get some, or I'll have to go without you."

What a newbie. They sent her out here with no way to get through anything, nor did she think like a ninja to have a way to keep going.

The man with the afro looked at the other two, who simply nodded. After that, he turned around and walked strait out of the cave.

About five minutes later he was back carrying four large tree branches over his shoulders. Each man quickly grabbed one, leaving Rubi with a smaller, and much more crooked branch.

The bald man made a quick set of hand seals, after which his hands began to glow a bright orange. He grabbed the branch in his hand, as he did this the branch started smoking. Once he pulled away it burst into flames. He repeated this with all the other branches.

That takes care of that.

Sometimes, Rubi hated not having Katon affinity. She would have to say this was definitely one of those times. Already, the three men were making judgments in their minds, and if there was one thing Rubi hated, it was to be judged.

However, her personal preferences mattered very little at the moment, as she addressed the four men before going into the pit, wearing the same formal and emotionless face she almost always did. "While we're crossing this pit, we'll need to be back to back. Each person will be facing one "cardinal direction", per se; in essence, we'll be in a back to back cross formation. This will allow us to most effectively stave off the snakes."

Her orders given, she descended, hoping they would at least obey her orders (even if not with respect).

They followed her instructions, making sure not to let the fire spread too high up on the stick as they did so. No, I'm not going to describe this. That's boring.

They reached the other side. Yay. They would notice by the time they got to the other side it was getting increasingly dark inside the cave, though the torches held in their hands illuminated most of their current area. Also, any talking now would result in an echo unless it's a whisper. Just and FYI.

Rubi remained silent, listening and watching for any dangers (specifically in the form of bears attempting to maul her) as she progressed through the cave. She quickly made a few seals to re-establish the use of her senbon launcher and held it at the ready, prepared for an ambush from the shadows.

(OOC: Sorry. Crappy post, I know. Also, the jutsu is, once again, the same one as before.)

Walking along, walking along, walking along- HOLY SHIT. As they were moving through the tunnels of the cave, Rubi would find the light of her torch illuminating the furry back of a full grown black bear, about three times the size of Rubi. Luckily, it was fast asleep.

They were getting close to the bear den now, kinda good kinda bad. Good in that they could complete their mission. Bad in that the possibility of getting mauled just went up a chunk.

Rubi said nothing but instead raised her hand up to signal a full stop. She then flicked it back a four times, signalling to the three men with her to back up four feet. She did likewise, and then, leveling her senbon launcher at the bear, shot it with a poison senbon, sinking the projectile into its back. She just had to hope that the tranquilizer was relatively fast acting; otherwise, Rubi and her group will find themselves in a really sticky situation in a rather short amount of time.

After Rubi shot the bear it simply waved it's arm about for a second, then flipped over landing on it back, tranquilized.

As soon as the bear was down, the man with the neck beard walked yup to it and performed a set of hand seals, then touched the bear. As he touched the bear a small seal appeared on it around his fingerm and then the bear poofed away.

That takes care of that. On to that there explorin'.

Finally. Something was going right for a change. As the man made a few seals to teleport the bear away, Rubi made her own to reactivate her arm, as she held it to the fore and took point, leading the group further into the cave.

(OOC: Sorry about these posts being so short. It's kinda hard for me to come up w/ descriptions and junk in a place as featureless as a pitch-black cave. Also, I used the same jutsu, as usual.)

As they pushed farther into the cave, they soon found their path blocked by... Well, by a very large door. Double doors, to be exact. The doorway was easily bigger than all four of them combined. The door was made of some very elegant wood, looking as if it had been worked on countless hours to get just the right shine. Even in this dim light, the whole door seemed to glow a warm color.

Stranger yet, the door was decorated. Covered in gold linings and patterns engraving into the wood, converging on the low center, just above Rubi's head, at a very large knocker in the shape of a golden bear head. But who would need to knock down here? More importantly, why was there a door here in the first place? On either of the double doors was a large ggolden bar, used to open the door, obviously.

Rubi was, to be quite frank... baffled. What would possess someone to built a large bear-themed gate in the middle of a freaking cave? It's not like the bears would have any appreciation for it.

Still, the sight of this door alluded to the presence of a human, possibly another shinobi. Rubi motioned for one man to take each side of the door and to pull them open. Meanwhile, she stepped back four feet and made a set of familiar seals, renewing the jutsu on her arm once more.

Following her orders, reluctantly as they were, the men split so the short man was on one side, with the other two on the other side. Pulling with all their strength, the door barely budged. But it was opening. Very, very slowly though. As the door cracked open more and more, bright light poured into the cave, blinding them for a moment.

As the doors were finally open, the insides were revealed.

What unraveled before the four was amazingly odd. Wonderfully strange. Spectacularly freakish.

The four would look in to see a very large room that almost looked manmade. All the walls and floors were made of massive stone blocks and wooden beams, making the room feel as if it was part of a castle. The walls even had some tapestry hanging from them here and there.

Anyway, two massive tables spanned the length of the room, each covered with vast amounts of food that looked as if cook by a master. And at the back wall of the room sat two thrones. One much larger than the other.

Now, if that wasn't strange enough, then room was completely populated by bears. Walking, talking, eating with their front paws, bears. There was even two bears sitting on the thrones, each with a large crown on it's head. The bars had stopped eating when the door opened, and were now staring at their new guests...

Oh joy.

Now, Rubi had seen some strange things in her days. She was young, yes, but the life of a shinobi had many oddities involved in it. She had seen sand worms the size of large buildings, a crazy scientist with an iguana fetish, and even beetles with exoskeletons as tough as steel armor.

But this? This took the cake. A room full of sentient talking bears was the oddest thing she had seen to date. And yet, this still might be workable. Considering they were sentient and could talk, it probably also meant they could negotiate and be reasoned with.

So Rubi did the only thing she could think of considering the situation: she knelt to the ground in a full face bow, her face almost touching the ground and her palms in front of her in apology. She hoped that her companions were intelligent enough to follow suit. With that, she formally addressed the bears in front of her. "Lord and lady of the black bears cave! I beg that you forgive our unannounced intrusion into your lauded sanctum! We have come to plead to your court on the resolution of a rather disturbing matter!"

What Rubi did here was either brilliant or incredibly stupid. She might not be alive long enough to find out if this flopped...

While Rubi pleaded, the three men just, well, they just looked at her like she was an idiot. The bears seemed to be doing the same, oddly.

One of the bears who had been eating walked toward the four. "Greetings," it bellowed in a deep grisly (teehee) voice. Glancing down at Rubi, then back to the three men he whispered toward them, "I say, is the girl retarded?"

The short man of the group, in what would be the first time Rubi heard one of the men speak, replied in his own very deep voice. "Possibly. On the way here she shot a rabbit, and made us work like dogs to open the door when we could have just knocked."

"Ah, I see. Well, care to join us? I'm sure we have a restraining jack-- er, child safe seat somewhere."

As the men conversed with the bear the other bears in the room returned to eating and going about their own conversations.

Rubi's question had been answered. At the very least, they were civil.

Without another word, she sat down at an empty seat close to the head of the table. Hoping not to waste time, she began shortly after taking her seat. "I don't want to take too much of your time, so I'll be brief. Our village has been getting reports of vandalism, petty theft, and even a few attacks on civilians... and by what the reports stated, the perpetrators came from this region. I wish not to insinuate that you or your subjects are of such a nature. Nevertheless, I've been sent to resolve the issue, and I wish to do so in a civil manner."

With that, she waited for a response, hoping they were indeed reasonable...
