Kage Bunshin no JutsuShow
*Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
After forming the needed handseals, the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to the user's stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies, not illusions. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed.
A small flicker of light shone in the darkness. The light moved slowly to a candle, setting it aflame. Myou shook the match out and sat down at the meticulously clean desk. She sat for a moment, preparing herself for the jutsu she was about to learn. She had borrowed a jutsu scroll from one of the scholars at the archives, and had promised to bring it back the next day. This had to be done tonight.

She slowly opened the scroll, revealing a complicated assortment of symbols and diagrams describing exactly how to accomplish this jutsu. At the top of the scroll was the name of the jutsu: “Kage Bunshin no Jutsu” She read aloud. She then began reading over all of the information on the scroll. It was amazing how complicated this jutsu was.

The first step was the hand seals. “Hitsuji-Mi –Tora” She said, practicing the motions required to make the jutsu flow. She would then have to gather the correct amount of chakra. It said in the next section of the scroll that she would have to distribute chakra into the clones evenly. In other words, she would have the same amount of chakra as the clones. The amount of chakra she should put into the jutsu was directly proportional to the number of clones she wanted to make. It seemed that at this point, she could only create one clone.

Then came the fun part; she was now reading that all information and experience that the clone gained, would be transferred to her once the clone was dispersed. This would effectively cut the time it took to learn something in half, even with just one clone. This was definitely the jutsu for her.

Now came the actual practice part. She knew that she would have to put a considerable amount of time and effort into the understanding and execution of this jutsu. The only problem was: She did not have the stamina to attempt the creation of more than one clone. She would have to attempt it once, and hope for the best. If it didn’t work the first time though, she would have to stop. That was the only problem with her style of training. She hardly ever fought, and then her only hope was to outsmart her opponent. In the real world though, that would not be the case. A ninja needed to have the power to defeat an opponent. She would never be able to take a genin on, even if she was smarter. It was a whole new world outside of the academy.

This was it, she decided. She would execute the jutsu perfectly. She was sure of it. After checking over the instructions one last time, she gathered her chakra and formed the seals saying: “Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!”
The sudden release of chakra blew out the candle, and Myou was left in complete darkness. After waiting for a moment to catch her breath, “Hello?” she whispered into the darkness. Nothing. Again she asked, this time louder: “Hello?” Still nothing. She fumbled in the darkness, trying to find the desk. Her knee hit the chair she had been sitting in, and she yelped, partly from pain, partly from the surprise. When she finally found the desk, she groped to find the matches, and then finally lit one. She lit the candle, now half melted, bringing light to the small room. She looked around for a moment before she finally saw it: a pathetic resemblance really. On the floor, lying sprawled out was, what she assumed was her clone. It was a mangled mess. It, for it could not be considered human, had pale skin, and mismatching eye colors. It’s clothing was wrong, and it was unresponsive. She tried to ‘wake it up’ by kicking it, but it disappeared in a puff of smoke. She sighed in resignation. She would have to try again tomorrow.

After cleaning everything up, she ascended the steps that lead to her house. Her little study was actually underneath the family’s basement. There was a narrow passage that lead down to her secluded space, and she loved it. She had created all of her jutsu there, and had paid for every bit of it. She climbed up the stairs to her room. It was long after midnight, and she was tired, both mentally and physically. She crawled into bed, not even bothering to change, and passed out.

------------------------------------------

“Wake up!”

“What?”

“I said, wake up!”

“What’s going on?”

“Myou, get off your lazy butt, and get downstairs. It’s been almost an hour since we had breakfast.”
Her brother informed her as she finally came to her senses. Immediately, she jumped out of bed, hurrying to get ready for the day. She hurriedly changed her clothing, brushed her hair, and then finally rushed downstairs for a cold breakfast. Bread, rice and miso soup, all cold. She bolted down her meal, and then rushed upstairs to take a shower.

The hot water felt good on her tired body. She was still slightly tired from the previous day’s experiment. After her shower, she hurried down stairs to her study. She could not wait to try the jutsu again. Her heart beat from excitement, and because of her rush to get down stairs, but mostly from excitement. When she got to her study, she had to pause to catch her breath before continuing. She placed a new candle in the candle stand on her desk and lit it with a match. She had only an hour or less to return the scroll, and she was nowhere near mastering this jutsu. She would have to make a copy.

Removing her jutsu scroll from a scroll case on her back, she spread it out on the table. She opened the small drawer in the scroll, revealing her brush and some ink. She then opened the scroll that contained the information about Kage Bunshin no jutsu, and proceeded to memorize and then re write the information on her jutsu scroll. It took almost half an hour, but when she was done, she had a perfect copy of how to execute the jutsu. With that done, she rolled up the scroll and began on her way back to the archives to return the scroll.

When she arrived at the archives, she thanked her friend for the use of the scroll and rushed back to her house to try the jutsu again. She reached her study and almost swore when she realized that she had left her candle burning. She took a quick look over the scroll, and realized what she had done wrong. She had used the wrong hand seals. She had used ‘ne’ rather than ‘mi.’ Oh well, now that she knew that, she shouldn’t have any trouble executing the jutsu. Stepping back from the desk, she took a deep breath and activated the jutsu. Her chakra was more controlled this time since she knew more about the exact amount of chakra required. Her hand signs were slow, but the jutsu seemed to work. In front of her, looking her in the eyes was an exact replica of herself. “Well, it worked.” The clone said. Her voice sounded right. She could speak. She had done it! But there was one final test: her family. It was almost lunch, and this would be the perfect test.

“Okay, awesome, so you are my first successful shadow clone! I have one final test, just for fun. I want you to eat lunch with my… our family. Well, go on. Go!” She said, ushering the clone upstairs. The clone finally went upstairs. She could do nothing now, but wait.

After about an hour, she felt a sudden gust of memory fill her brain. The clone had successfully carried out the mini mission, and had then dispersed. She now had all of the experience that the clone had gained. She could not help but hop up and down in delight. She had pulled it off, and had only failed once! She had to go tell her parents. This was too exciting to keep to herself.
