[Mission] - Lets Race!

Post by Satorose » Sat Oct 02, 2010 8:41 am

Many people were gathered around the starting line of the race. Cheers rent the air, and there were a total of 5 participants in the race, including Loke. Friends and family were gathered around the participants wishing them luck before the race.

Then the announcer began to call out the names of the racers! ON THE FAAAAR RIGHT WE HAVE SHOTARUUUUU! NEXT TO HIM IS TAKESHIII! IN THE MIDDLE IS KENSHIII! NEXT TO HIM IS THE ONLY FEMALE OF THE GROUP CHIYOOO! AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST ON THE FAR LEFT WE HAVE LOKEE YUUUUUUUSHAAA!

All the people at the starting line began clapping, the race would begin shortly.

OOC: If you want you can have friends and/or family gather around Loke at the beginning to wish him luck.

Loke was excited. Stuff like this didn't happen to much. A few of his drinking friends came out to support him as he could see them in the audience. Loke was standing on the track staring at them. They were pointing at their sake bottle. A drink? Now? Not a bad idea.

He kinda needed it, he was pretty nervous. He reached his hand into his bag taking out a match and a bottle. He lit the match and dropped it into the bottle, drinking the ignited sake.

Oh yeah~! He was more pimped of this now. He walked over to his position on the track and did a few streches before the race started. He kept his ears open for the announcer for the go.
He looked left and right to his opponenets in for that short while. They were also shinobi. This race was obviously not going to be normal but fun regardless. Winning didn't matter but it would sure be nice. He wasn't going to lose without trying.

Once all of the introductions, and good lucks were given, the race was on its way.

All the fans had to gather away from the runners, as the announcer spoke up, "THIS WILL BE A RACE AROUND THE ENTIRE OUTSKIRTS OF THE VILLAGE, THERE WILL BE NO CHEATING BY CUTTING THROUGH THE VILLAGE, AND DO NOT SEVERELY HURT ANYONE AROUND YOU... Now everyone get ready, on your marks, get set... GOOOOOOOO!" The announcer's voice rang out loudly at the start of the race.

Shotaru immediately began his assault out of the gates, literally tripping Takeshi from the starting gate. Takeshi not paying attention face planted into the ground, then quickly climbed to his feet to start once more, he had a little bit of ground to make up. With a speed of around 6 Kenshi took off in-front of everyone in the race. Chiyo however was starring Loke down the entire time, while the announcer began his marks. She began making kissy faces at Loke attempting to distract him, then once the announcer said go, she blew a kiss at Loke and began waving a 'Good-bye' wave.

The race had begun...

As soon as as the announcer said "set", Loke's feet caught on fire. He dropped his bag of sake after Chiyo blew a kiss at him. That wouldn't work for him here. He was completely concentrated on the race. Using the fire on his legs, Loke launched himself ahead of the others like a jet as soon as he heard the "go". The fire on his legs died out after he reached several meters from the starting line. Loke started running his ass off here making the best time he could. He didn't look back and focused on the next turn. Hopefully he was ahead by the others over a bit. If anyone was to catch up, Loke had a kunai ready his hands, which he quickly reached out of his back left pocket. He wasn't going to hurt anyone but it was there for whatever reason to come up.

Its range and power can be increased by devouring katon within two posts, depending on how much katon he had devoured.

Chiyo had a displeased look on her face that she had just been ignored by Loke. However Loke didn't see it because he flew past her. Kenshin however saw Loke for a moment, because they both moved at around the same speed or at least for the moment... Then Loke's Jutsu wore off, and Kenshin began pulling away.

Takeshi was probably the fastest of the group, but probably also the clumsiest. Then he began sprinting after his embarrassing beginning, quickly passing Shotaru, the man whom had tripped him, making a :P face as he passed him. Then not paying any attention Takeshi ran right into the back of Loke, making himself stumble, and perhaps Loke as well.

Shotaru saw this as his chance to gain ground, so quickly running up to the two, he pulled out two kunai with wire attached to both ends. Throwing them expertly the wire wrapped around both Loke and Takeshi, unless Loke somehow dodged the attack that came from behind then only Takeshi would be trapped.

OOC: If you plan on dodging the wire, keep in mind it's an attack coming from behind you, so you wouldn't just SEE it like it's in plain view.

There was only Kenshi on infront of him now and Loke had to quickly think of a way to pass him. As he continued running, Takeshi bumped into his back making himself stumble. He turned his face back to see who it was and grabbed on to him with his left hard to his neck all while running, as a way of his anger. He was pissed. He could've tripped over right there.

While turning his head backward for these few seconds, he looked behind him to see Shotaru throwing kunai. Reacting to this immediately and punched Takeshi backward with his elbow, to the path Shotaru was running. If Shotaru didn't move, they would collide and if he did, well it would still slowed him down.

Loke was now aware of the kunais so he simply jumped over them trying to avoid another fall. All of this had made Kenshi get even further but he was still within eye-reach. Loke took the idea of making someone stumble and trip and planned it on Kenshi. He started running towards him as fast as he would just enough so his right leg would strech out to touch Kenshi's. He bend downwards while running and delivered a short and quick kick (more like just slighting pushing with the tip of his foot) at Kenshi's ankles just enough to make him trip. He had his left hand on the ground to help him balance and make sure that slight push would have enough accuracy to really trip him over. If it had worked, Loke would have to pick himself up before the fallen Kenshi and continue on running before he try anything in defense.

He was getting a bit tired. In the lead, he started running more calmly taking deeper breaths. Though he knew where to go, Loke wasn't exactly sure how much of the race was left. His mind was set to thinking that he was around the half-way point. He could definately be wrong but it helped him move forward.

Just a little more...

OOC: Okay 2 things.
1. The person you're running after is faster then you are, so don't think you can simply catch up to him from now on, since it's a D-Rank I won't make you redo your post this time, but read the things I say in the mission, as I said earlier he's running at a 6, you're a 5 I believe, and no matter 'how hard' you push yourself you can't just suddenly pass your max ability, it's one thing if your life is on the line, and you get an adrenaline rush, but this is a simple 'fun' race, so I'm not seeing it...
2. No-where near halfway matey.

IC: Takeshi having come from behind Loke, had the advantage in the fight, so once he saw the elbow coming at him he ducked down avoiding it, however once he tried to jab up to his Loke his body became tangled in the kunai trap that Shotaru had thrown. Shotaru caught up to Takeshi and pushed him to the ground, and being all tangled up Takeshi fell to the ground.

Loke began to sprint and catch up to Kenshin for the moment, but once he pulled close he attempted to trip Kenshin, however with the speed advantage Kenshin had over Loke, made it so when Loke slowed down to trip him, Kenshin easily avoided it by out-running him. Kenshin once again began to pull ahead with a speed of SIX.

Then came Chiyo, she was staying behind everyone, except Takeshi who had fallen way behind. She was right on Shotaru's tail, but she didn't seem to be trying to up her position in the race, she simply stayed right behind them. Seeming to wait until the opportune moment.

Kenshin continuously glanced backwards to make sure he was able to avoid any attacks from behind.

Loke was pretty frustrated when he couldn't catch up to Kenshin. He was running second and continued on running maintaining his pace. He had a plan set and ready to shunshin whenever they see finish line so Kenshin or anyone else, wouldn't see it coming. All he had now was to continue on running as fast as he could, even if he wasn't in first, second was good enough.

He ran with his eyes set on Kenshin and also to make sure he was running the right path, making turns when needed. He turned his head backwards every few minutes to see if there was anyone behind him to avoid any attacks they might pull off to slow him down.

Kenshin continued to hold his lead with Loke following behind in second. Still glancing back here and there to make sure no one was planning anything.

Loke seemed to be doing the same thing as Kenshin, keeping his sprint up and his position, as he also looked back every now and then in-case an attack from behind came.

Shotaru, was the first to strike this time, using one of his Katon Jutsu he began to run quicker, then Chiyo began to use one of her Fuuton Jutsu to run quicker. Shotaru was slowly, but surely catching up to Loke, as was Chiyo, who was still behind Shotaru.

Shotaru started to get close to Loke, and Chiyo kept stayed about 10 yards behind Shotaru.

Takeshi had gotten out of the wire trap and began sprinting as fast as he could (speed of 7) to catch up with the others, it was relatively simple for him right now, simply because no-one else was around... It was a game of speed!

OOC: Kenshin - First
Loke (you) - Second
Shotaru - Third (About 5 yards behind you now)
Chiyo - Fourth (About 15 yards behind you, and 10 behind Shotaru)
Takeshi - Last, he's way behind right now, luckily he's the fastest out of you all, so don't count him out yet...

There was still a way ahead of Loke and he didn't like being second. Preforming handseals, Loke ignited his feet on fire and launched himself about four meters attempting to close in Kenshin. It wasn't as great as his first launch since he hadn't had fire for a while but was still useful.

He looked back to see Shotaru doing the same thing as him but he wasn't going to let a copying fool catch up to him and instead, he was going to make Kenshin fall this time for sure. As Loke launched himself, he aimed solely on grabbing one of Kenshin's legs and making him fall.

OOC: Sorry for the delayed post, I've been slow in all my stuff when normally I'm the fastest, real busy with stuff.

IC: Loke seemed to come in exactly as Kenshin faced forward. Down Kenshin went, but Loke diving after him also took a fall. Coming from behind them both Shotaru and Chiyo passed them. And back in the distance still gaining grown Takeshi could be seen once more.

Kenshin kicked out at Loke as they both layed on the ground, and attempted to climb onto his feet and start running again attempting to catch up. Chiyo seemed to like not being in the lead as she dragged close behind Shotaru. Shotaru was excited he was in first now, his mild sprint turned into a head on heels sprint he was ready to goooo! Takeshi was getting closer and closer... what a tight race.

Not cool. Kenshin was still within close range but the Chiyo and Shotaru had passed Loke and Takeshi was coming in close. Now was a good as time as any. Loke stood up, a little tired the race and jutsus but still motivated.

Preforming a quick handseal, Loke shunshin'd himself right in front of Shotaru and within that split second of the body flicker, Loke delivered a swift and hard kick right at Shotaru's face knocking him backwards.

As soon as the kick was delivered, Loke didn't wait for a reaction. He put his foot on the ground and ran for it focusing on nothing but maintaining the lead.

With Loke body flickering away from Kenshin's kick then caught up to Shotaru attempting to kick out at him, and with Loke not really putting any effort into the kick Shotaru easily dodged it. Loke was once more in the lead, with Shotaru behind him, Chiyo behind Shotaru, Kenshin right behind her, and Takeshi was right on his tail now...

Chiyo began to laugh as she let both Kenshin and Takeshi get in-front of her as she slowed down slightly...

Loke's kick wasn't much of a great success but he was in the lead regardless. The three guys were closing in him. There wasn't any time to waste. Looking ahead, he wondered how much of the race was left. They had been running for a while... Loke really want to lose now. He was in the lead and wanted to stay there.

Bending slightly, Loke focused chakra at his feet before jumping diagonally in front attempting to skip over some of the land. He jumped over about 5 meters ahead of himself, hoping he got some distance from the others.

Takeshi easily passed Kenshin within a few more quick steps being the fastest of the group. And he was just catching up to Shotaru when Chiyo began making hand signs. Loke had created some distance between himself and the others, but not enough... Chiyo made a massive amount of wind appear at the sides of all the men, this was a B-Ranked Fuuton Ninjutsu. The wind smashed against them all, she had obviously been staying behind so she could make sure her attack made contact with everyone of her opponents at once. The wind was so strong that it would easily slam all the other opponents into the walls of Sunagakure.

Since Chiyo was behind them all, her attack was bound to hit, and it'd be nearly impossible for any of them to dodge, since for one they wouldn't see it coming, being just a large rush of wind, and nobody would see her make the hand signs since she was so far behind. If the wind attack made contact, it would probably leave each one of the men stunned for one post, allowing Chiyo to take the lead. All the men (excluding Loke, since you control him) were caught in the wind and slammed into the wall, stunned and unable to move for the time being.

OOC: Most likely Loke would get hit, but if you can make a legit way on how you dodged it, that's fine I guess.

Loke was happily running into the lead with just a couple guys behind him when a huge gust of him pushed him to the side along the others. He couldn't move but he noticed the others were trapped with him except one person, Chiyo. She had ran past them all and taken the league.

When Loke slid down the wall that he was pressed upon by the gust of wind, he was furious for being pushed out of the league. He shunshin'd himself just a yard behind Chiyo, still a bit stunned from the attack. He pushed himself back up for the time being and mentally prepared himself again to outrun Chiyo. Right now he was in second place again. He was behind Chiyo by a few yards but he was ahead of the three boys who were also pushed to the walls.

Chiyo continued to sprint getting close to the end of the race, she had to finish first, it would look really good for her! Loke was up slightly before the other 3 boys and he was back into the race. Then followed Takeshi who was the fastest, he was gaining on Loke and fast, then followed Kenshin, but Shotaru was no where to be seen, where had he gone?

Loke ran after Chiyo pretty much ignoring the others so he could concentrate on finishing the race about now. He knew they were close or something by now. Loke pushed chakra on his feet and leaped over 5 meters horizontally attempting to get close to Chiyo or better yet, pass her. There was no way he was going to lose now even if it meant hitting a girl to win. He was waaay too in the game.

Loke rounded the corner at the same time as Chiyo, he had caught her; however, Takeshi was literally right on there tail, it was going to be hard to out-sprint him, Loke had to do something to stop both him, and Chiyo, cause if he slowed down to stop Takeshi, Chiyo would run by, so he had to slow them both down, or pray he could out-run Takeshi, which wasn't likely. Kenshin was faster then Loke, and Chiyo, but it wasn't likely he'd catch them before the end, or at least not Loke, but even so, Loke slowing down meant Kenshin could have a chance, Loke needed to make a move and fast... Still Shotaru was no-where to be found, where had he gone...?

Loke didn't care about the others at this point. The finish line was within sight. He jumped horizontally again for about 5 meters making another step closer to the finish line. The extra jump would make Loke be even further ahead of Chiyo and away from Takeshi who was catching up beside Chiyo.

The height of the jump can vary depending on how much chakra is used, although the actual cost doesn't get significant until the point where one leaps over 5 meters vertically. The only momentum that this technique will give is vertical: horizontal momentum is gained from the user's speed prior to the jump.
This technique is the real cornerstone of the High Style. Chakra Control is particularily important for this technique.

C-ranked Taijutsu
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Another important technique in the High Style. By focussing chakra out of their feet and (if landing from greater heights) hands, the user can soften the impact of landing. At lower Chakra Control (6 or 7), this will only allow a safe landing if used from a high place: nothing more and nothing less. In case of a high Chakra Control (8, 9 or 10) this technique can be directly followed up by sprinting, regardless of the height that was landed from.

[Mission] - Lets Race!

A foot race is what Loke attempted to do to keep this race in his grasp, sadly for him that played right into Takeshi's hands, he began to sprint as fast as he ever had before in his life. Being a known sprinter, he was flying by them all, shortly after that he passed Loke, even with Loke's attempt to extend his lead, Chiyo was still behind them running, then behind her was Kenshin gaining ground on her, but unless the group stopped he wasn't going to catch Loke or Kenshin, Chiyo was possible.

Where was... Shotaru? Takeshi excited to finally be in first could see the finish line from in the distance, then as it became more and more clear, his sprint came to a jog, and jog became a mild walk as he was kicking himself upset that he had lost... Shotaru was already on the other side of the finish line, and second wasn't good enough for Takeshi, anything other then first was a loss, so he continued to walk slowly giving the others a chance to catch him. It was a fight for second... Unless of course Loke or Chiyo or Kenshin started walking as well, disappointed in their loss.

Yeah...that is just total -what the fuck- and i don't care anymore seeing how long this has gone. :(
Loke, who had his eyes at the finish line the entire time saw Shotaru past it. Disappointed for not coming first. He didn't care. It was all or nothing for him and now he had nothing. He let the others past him and jogged the rest of the race in peace.

OOC: *slaps Loke*

IC: Loke began to slow down to a jog, Chiyo first passed him, then Kenshin passed him; however, Loke did pass Takeshi who had completely given up and was now walking, while Loke was at least jogging. The group group finished with Shotaru at first, Chiyo in second, Kenshin in third, Loke in fourth, and Takeshi in last. But wait...

Grumblings could be heard all around the finish line, nobody seemed to know where Shotaru had gone during that vanishing time... Up came an older age man who pointed an accusing finger at Shotaru, "He cheated! He ran through the village, he didn't follow the out-skirts like the races rules clearly said he had to!" Shotaru of course began to deny the accusations being made about him, but then more people came forward that didn't know cutting through the village was breaking any rules, they too had seen him cut through the village.

Up at the top of the building where the announcer and judges were they began talking; until they seemed to come to a conclusion. "WE, THE JUDGES HAVE DECIDED THAT SHOTARU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FOR CHEATING! THE WINNER IS CHIYO! CONGRATULATIONS! Everyone else will be bumped up a notch! Congratulations on a well ran race!"

The race was over, Loke had finished third now, if only he had continued to run and not gave up, he could have finished first...

OOC: I'll let you post one more time then finish the mission.
