The dry heat of the sun would beat down on all living organisms that walked across the soft sand that covered the vast country known as Wind Country. The people within one of the small villages hit by the last genma attack sent out an SoS for someone to help them take care of a small gang that decided to overtake and control them. Even if the village was naturally small with a population of no more than about two-hundred people, they still requested help from their great ninja as one man in particular stood on the outskirts, about a mile out as he waited for his help.

His hair was long and white and he had wrinkles that sunk underneath his eyes. He was about sixty years of age and knew that this heat would kill him if he had to wait any longer as his dark brown eyes gazed up into the sunlight.

"come on ninja, hurry and get here!" he would mumble, seeing smoke come from his village out in the distance.

The jounin was moving quickly. With her young disciple by her side, Setsuna set out on this journey to stomp out some evil-doers. Things would be fun indeed. It was a combat oriented mission to stop a group of bandits! What better way is there to get to know a new companion other than combat? The boy, Jito, was still green. He was a genin, but Setsuna was the one in charge of him. He would not be allowed to be a genin for long. This mission would be his first test.

The two traveled quickly through the desert and a stack of billowing smoke soon appeared on the horizon. A man was standing along the aged path. The older male was waiting for the duo. Setsuna smiled for it was almost time for the fun to start. She called out to the man. "Kind sir I beseech you. We have been sent here to help" whistled the woman. Her voice carried well over the sun-beaten sands.

The genin followed next to his mentor. combat on his first mission it sounded intresting to him. He adjusts the basket on his back that held his puppet that he had made himself. He looked up at his mentor she seems like a good mentor he thought to himself. He hopes that the sand dosnt mess with the joints of his puppet or he might not be able to help setsuna.

He looks at the old man as they walk to him. When they reach the man he sets down his basket and wipes his head. "Hello sir" he bows slightly to the old man. "May we ask for your name?"

The old man, still terrified and tired, looked at both ninja as they came up to him and he would let out a sigh of relief. his hired help was finally around to take down the gang of bandits that were terrorizing his small village. IT was a horrible site as the smoke continued to lift into the air, the ninja talking to him as he shifted his eyes between the two before talking himself.

"My name is Rorin." his raspy voice would ring as he turned his head back to the site and then back at the ninja. "I was able to escape, but but y friends and family are still trapped in there. A small gang has been terrorizing everyone within it and we cannot defend ourselves. I'm not sure how many there are but make sure they go away for good!" he would add, sadness in his eyes.

"All right" replied Setsuna to the older man. She drew her chokuto forth from the sheath and held it at her side. The steel was cold and the sun was hot. Steam lines formed on the sand ahead as a testament to the blazing sun's rays. Setsuna's smile was wicked as she turned towards Jito and said, "Let's go paint the town red with bandit blood. These cowards who dared to attack an innocent village do not deserve life." Her visage was filled with anger. Under the hot sun Setsuna's blood was boiling. She was ready for these bandits.

Setsuna took off on a sprint towards the town. She was keeping her pace slower so her young ward could keep up. The steel of her blade reflected the sun's light. It twinkled like the northern star, like a guide for the sinners to follow onto the path of righteousness. The woman's hair flowed backwards as she moved. Her motions were smooth and precise. As the duo passed the edge of the town Setsuna let out a sigh. Her blade would be weighed down with the essence of life again today, but that was a bridge she had already crossed long ago. Setsuna could only hope that her student wouldn't be slowed by these thoughts and stay his blade as a result whilst he holds the opponents throat in his hands. For if he did, it would mean the end of him.

He bows to the man "We will be sure to take care of the bandits." He runs after his mentor. He runs his hand through his hair "Do we have a plan to go after the banits?" He asks setsuna. He looks at the outskirts of the town and sets down his basket and opens it up showing a puppet."Your first field test eh hornet?" He releashs chakra strings from his fingers that attaches to his puppet.

Intermediate Puppetry is a Ninjutsu technique used by puppeteers. By releasing chakra from their tenketsu, the puppeteer is able to release chakra strings from their finger. These strings are able to move a max of X meters away, where X is equal to the puppeteer’s control stat. This jutsu allows the puppeteer to attach their chakra strings to puppets at a speed of 2, using every part of the puppet to its max potential.

The man would look at the blade and the strange contraption that the younger of the two was carrying around their body. He could not help but smile as he realized that he was going to need to stay clear of the road incase the bandits would head back over in his direction. "best of luck to the both of you ninja!" the man would shout as he ran over toward the right, nearing a hill in the clearing of the desert as he waited

Upon getting closer toward the small village, the sounds of women and children screaming would occur as a fire would be seen on one of the larger houses. Outside the house was a man dressed in a blood red kimono as he held a blade to the head of an old women. "You gonna die bitch."

Setsuna quickly took note of a man in a red kimono. Her eyes were aflame with anger at the scene. To make an attempt on the life of an elderly woman was inexcusable. Setsuna was perhaps angered more by the fact that the man would use a blade for this debauchery. To her a blade is a sacred thing. The sharpened steel represents the honor of its master. To defile a blade by taking the lives of innocents is blasphemy. Setsuna called to her ward: "I'll push him away from the woman, you flank him from the side."

Setsuna dove forth using all her speed and extended her own blade in an attempt to block the villainous man's from reaching the flesh of the aged woman. Should her block be successful, she would then attempt to perform one of her favorite techniques, Murasakimashiko, to push the man back from the civilian and allow Jito to finish him.

He nods at his teacher and runs to the side of the man and sends his puppet forward. As he attacked he wondered how many bandits there were but it didnt matter he and his teacher would drive them out no matter how many there were. His puppet holds out on of his arms the razor sharp claws glinting in the light as he aims it for the man.

The steel cold blade of the ninja would sink into the flesh of the bandit as his blood would spray onto the back of the grey head of the old lady. His cries from the pain inflicted into his body would shriek into the sky as the sounds of more angry men would be heard coming from around the village. One man in particular, a white headed younger looking one would appear from outside the house with blood on his hands and a little over his dark blue kimono.

The site of one of his comrades down gave him a small fear as he screamed, "Death!"

The words would echo a bit around him as he looked at the enemy, drawing his sword before charging in and trying to slash down at her back. His movements were not entirely agile but there was a bit of speed going off in his slash.

A cry erupted from behind the woman. It was hollow but held a smidgen of pain. The boy came quick and Setsuna wasn't entirely prepared for his slash. She swung around her body to clash blades with him but her posture was wrong. She was pushed back and rolled upon the sand at the blow. Her knees scraped upon the sandy surface and succumbed to a scarlet color. She still held her her trusty blade as her grip was far from weak. Setsuna sprang to her feet as quickly as possible. "You take him low I'll go high," called the woman as she dashed forward and brought her blade over her head.

Setsuna was going to perform a, bland but effective, technique known as Īguru. The main focus of the strike is to force the opponent to back away. If her ally could manage to strike at the assailant's legs then his chances of escape would be slim.

Setsuna slashes her blade straight down in a powerful arc. She then stops the blade halfway through the swing. As soon as the swing is stopped Setsuna thrusts her sword forward in one quick motion, aiming for the chest of the opponent.

He rushed forward with his puppet. He aimed his puppet low at the back of the attacker setsuna. The blades on the fingers of the puppet glint as it move almost silently through the sand. As the puppet got close to him it thrust out one of it hands the blades all formed in a neat row as it neared the bandit.

The steel blade would slice into the boy as his cries for help would bring out five more guys in the houses that were lined up ahead. Coming from a shop at the corner of the near street was the sound of a dying old hag as she fell out of the top window of the general market. These bandits were killing people fast as the one teen died when the puppet sent the rest of his body into pieces, the remaining thugs now running forward and charging, as one in the back fired off two arrows at the puppeteer. The others would slash with their swords.

Five more opponents entered the fray after the small one was finished by Setsuna's apprentice. It seems Jito was capable of "pulling the trigger" after all, and that Setsuna's worries were falsely placed. She needn't worry about developing her young one as he could handle himself, but rather Setsuna needed to be saving the people of the village. The cries of an old woman made the swordswoman cringe. She couldn't save her and Setsuna hated it.

These bandits were truly despicable people and deserved no mercy. As the next opponent came at her, Setsuna flipped her sword into her left hand and swatted at his blade with an upwards strike to move the steel out of the path. Her feet set themselves instantly and her hand came up to her side in a classic styled stance. She then brought up her right fist and launched it towards the man's gut in one of her most powerful techniques the "Divine Fist". Setsuna wanted to make this man into the example. He would be the warning, and he would be used to scare the piss out of his other allies.

Setsuna takes a classic karate stance. She offsets her left foot forwards slightly and places her arms up and at her sides. She then launches a punch. Her entire body, and entire being is focused in this one punch. Every joint, every muscle, every bone is used in perfect harmony for this one blow. The angle is perfect, the rotation of the fist, everything. This punch strikes the opponent with an unbelievable force, sending them flying away in a spiraling fashion. Opponents with more strength than Setsuna can resist this technique.

He would bring up his puppet to block the arrows. "blast" he thought "theres more of them! how many could there be left." He would look at the guy with the arrows and then with a surge of chakra sends his puppet flying at the man holding its hands out like two spears. "Take this!"

Due to this, the puppet can't stop their course unless they hit something or the user pulls back with full force, causing the puppet to stall. Also, while shooting forward, the puppet isn’t able to use any projectile weapons while being flung.

The one man's body would feel the impact of a fist hitting his body as he went flying out into the street, his body now null and nearly dead as he lay there motionless. The others could not believe what they had seen as a bit of tension came off within each of their bodies as two backed off while the other two went forward with their blades, slashing at her legs and at her chest from both sides. They were determined to take her out after what she had just done to one of their very own comrades.

"Die bitch!" one would scream as the other just grunted. The two backing off would continue to creep away as the one with the bow would watch a puppet coming at him. He would roll to the side before firing two more arrows at the genin with the wooden contraption.

Her strike had connected. The first opponent in the string was blasted backwards as if he had been hit by a meteorite. His body flew across the battlefield like a tossed rag doll. Setsuna's act of intimidation seemed to work as two of the remaining four opponents backed off nearly instantly. However the remaining two were not so spineless. Perhaps Setsuna had underestimated them. If all the remaining bandits had nerves like these two, then Setsuna could have a worthy fight on her hands.

The two men charged from both sides. Their blades swung in horizontally both high and low. Setsuna took her blade and slashed at the blade approaching her chest to stop it. She then kicked up her feet to avoid the slash from below. She rotated her hips while in the air to allow her to kick at the man who had slashed at her legs whilst keeping her blade up to block the opponent who had swung for her upper body.

He watch the puppet fly at the man. He then saw that he had missed and saww the arrows flying at him. He quickly made handseals and dissapeard with his puppet appearing in his place as it knocked the arrow away. "that was close" he though as he sent his puppet back at the man and threw a kunain at him from the side.

The ugly villians just kept going down with each weapon that was reaching their skin. The genin on the other hand was putting himself in more of a predicament as he transported closer to the man with the arrows as he grabbed another two arrows before firing them both at him.

"Checkmate kid!" he would say as he launched the arrows, hoping to take on ninja out as the loud sounds of a women crying in the back could be heard. More people were dying and the ninja would need to hurry up their job.

The opponents continued to fall in front of Setsuna, but her young companion seemed to be struggling against his foe. Setsuna had one more villain to take care of in front of her before she could assist Jito however. Setsuna cringed at the thought. If her ward was in trouble then she should save him. It was her duty as his mentor. These villains were attacking a harmless village and were now threatening her first disciple? Setsuna had never met such a crude and rude bunch. She would teach them manners if it was the last thing she did.

The woman's eyes took on a demonic tone as she held her blade out to her side and charged at the opponent at her full speed. Her legs hit the ground with an incredible force, kicking up sand as they moved. Her hair flowed backwards as if it were a whispering puff of smoke caught in a gale. Her visage showed a devilish grin. The thrill of combat was overtaking her. The jounin didn't want to lose her first junior to some classless and crass bandits. To the untrained eye, Setsuna would be no more than a flash as she swung her blade in a horizontal arc towards the opponents chest. She was looking to end up behind him after the strike so she could keep her momentum and get to Jito's location.

Setsuna swings her blade at the perfect angle and speed in a horizontal slice across the opponent's body. The wound itself is so well cut that it seems to close itself and not bleed. However after one post the wound begins to open and bleed. The wound opens wider and wider for five posts. Every post it causes the opponent to lose 1 stamina. The pain slowly picks up from moderate to severe by the fifth post. This effect will remain until the afflicted is healed by a medical ninja or until the end of the thread.

"this is not good" He tought as trys to dodge the arrows but catchs on in the leg as he brings his puppet closer. "how do i get this guy?" he manipulates his puppet trying to get it in close to the archer for an attack as he trys to get behind the puppet. "if only he would stand still for a moment"

The one man in front of the jounin was hit down with a blade like no other would have ever seen before. It was gruesome and his body would fall once more as the other evil villian was continuing to shoot out arrows at the small genin as another two, the last two came from inside one of the buildings and started to attack them as well.

Setsuna, using her momentum from her previous endeavor, jumped in front of the two incoming arrows aimed at her ward's throat. She spun her sword upwards and smashed both tips with the flat of her blade causing the arrows to fall off target and continue past the pair. With a loud voice the woman called Jito to action, "Strike the archer now! I'll take care of the other two!"

Setsuna flipped into the air over Jito's head and brought her blade down hard towards the final two opponents. If she should strike down the first she would shift her weight mid-air and slash at the second.

"i hope this works" He thinks as he releashs his puppet. He then reachs for his jacket and pulls out the five explosive kunia. He holds uses chakra strings to hold the kunia in the air before sending them at the archer. "try and dodge this" He though as he gets ready to explode the kunia when they got close.

This is a Ninjutsu technique used by Sand ninja [Jito]. By attaching multiple chakra strings to their kunai, the puppeteer is able to hover multiple kunai around them before throwing them all forward. The puppeteer is able to hold an amount of kunai equal to their total ninjutsu and control.

With the last men down from the Jounins powerful strike and the other man being decimated by the many kunai that exploded around his body and took him out, the mission was nearly done. All the two had to do was go and talk to the man and tell him everything was fine and that the village could go back to being normal. Only a few casualties though.

It was the aftermath of a slaughter. Civilian casualties were minimum but they were still there. Families would be crying tonight. Lives have been torn asunder by a couple of cruel men and their greed. It was a crying shame. Why do villains like this exist in this world? Setsuna could but ponder this thought as she wiped her blade clean. The blood of these criminals was the same red as the blood of the innocents. In them flowed the same life water. So what separated the two? What distinguished one as beast and one as man? They were all the same at one point. They were all but babes sucking upon their mother's breasts. How could something so innocent and pure as a man's soul become so black and foul?

"Perhaps these questions are never meant to be answered," softly spoke the jounin. Her heart had been hardened after so many years, but even she wept on the inside after coming across that innocent old woman's body. Setsuna steeled herself. She faced her ward and issued a simple order, "Jito, no matter what happens to you in this life, never lose your humanity. A life of crime and villainy is a slippery slope. We must always strive to build a better world. Now let's go report this mission. I am getting a sickly feeling in the pit of my stomach standing here."

They duo approached the elderly man they had met on the way into town. Setsuna, while offering a thumbs up, exclaimed, "The bandits are dead sir."

He saw that all of the men had been defeted and he let a sigh of relife as he walked back to his basket and picked it up and setting his puppet back in it. It was a hard battle won and while people did die this village would have peace he took slight comfert in that fact. He listen to Setsuna's words "We are here to fight crime i would never want to join them! It is a ninja's duty to protect those who cannot protect them selves." He followed Setsuna back to the old man. "All of them beaten but we couldnt save everyone sir we're sorry."
